Habitica: Gamified Taskmanager for Positive User Reviews

Amazing but one thingThis is an amazing all but the only problem I have is the new layout for the pets and mounts tab. I find it extremely inconvenient and frankly, annoying. Especially since the pets and mounts are the biggest motivator in this app (in my opinion). Is there any way for me to change it back to the other layout? Also i would love to see a widget made available so i could see what tasks i had to do right on my homescreen on my ipad, thanks.Version: 2.9

The app is great, but...It's a really cool idea for an app. But after creating my tasks, to do's etc. I am seeing a black screen after using the app for less than 20 seconds and then it takes me back to my out of app screen. Needs fixing..Version: 1.10.1

The most useful app there is.Habatica is the best habits/ task organising app you can get, as you have the joy of earning points every single time you complete a simple task. So worth your time..Version: 2.10.1

Quirky, original approach to productivityI rarely leave reviews for anything but this is just too good not to! The idea of a D&D sort of RPG style productivity app is so new and fresh, and is also incredibly motivating for an ADHD-addled person such as myself. I do have one small suggestion (not necessarily a criticism); I would like to see a master to-do list from which you can add tasks to a daily to do list, without the master to do list having any effect on health etc. This would make it much easier to keep track of my long term tasks without feeling overwhelmed by what I have to do on a daily basis. Thanks, Developer Overlords! You’re doing a solid job so far and I can’t wait to see what else the app has in store. :).Version: 3.4.2

Great idea but...I think this app is great! Really interesting idea, and beautiful ui (although a bit hard to navigate for some people). My only issue with it is bugs. There are way to many bugs that I have to restart the app every 5 minutes or so. I really think if that problem is solved, the app would have interesting potential..Version: 3.0.3

Never felt more motivated to wash the dishesShort version: it seriously motivated me to start doing things, so give it a try. Long version: So I first downloaded this app thinking it was just a cute little way to track my to-do lists and habits I either want to start / stop, but once I got to searching through all the capabilities and features like challenges, guilds, parties and the character customization you can do, I actually was so invested in not only the app, but actually checking things off my lists! It utilizes in the dopamine rush that social media notoriously gives you from the pretty colors and notifications- but in the best possible way. I laid down for a nap today but couldn’t even fall asleep because I was thinking about all the habits I wanted to add to habitica so that I could start checking them off. I’ve always struggled with procrastination and sticking to habits, so I am extremely excited for the motivation this app has given me in just the first day!! 10/10, would recommend, much motivation, very nice.Version: 3.5.5

Changed my life.I built a similar app with apple numbers to track the tasks i was doing each day and weather or not i was actually do them. i then gave my self rewards for when i did well. found habitica and it is exactly what i was building. i stopped biting my nails, eating in the car. i completed about 20 tasked in 2 weeks that i have been planning to do for years. i also count down from five like a rocket about to launch in order to get moving before i have another excuse. i live in darwin AU and it’s so hot here that with out help you will do nothing. this is a real review and it’s worth getting over any other app i know of..Version: 1.10.1

Helped get us back into getting things doneI’m a college student, and it’s sometimes difficult to get chores and daily tasks done with assignments and stress. My friend introduced this app to our friend group, and we’ve all benefitted from using it. Many of them have commented that the To-do list style makes it easy to get stuff done, and the rewards motivate them to keep on top of their tasks. I personally use it to keep track of my meds and making sure I get my chores done in a timely fashion. We really enjoy doing quests as a party, and collecting pets. For the most part, it works for us. Something that I’d love to see is the ability to trade items between party members. One of my friends has a lot of potions, while the other has too many eggs. It would be great if we could trade among the party and help eachother out along the way..Version: 3.6.3

This is great but…This game is a great organizer but I wish you didn't have to join parties to fight monsters because my friends aren't really into this kind of stuff and they probably won't join the app so I can't fight any monsters please make it so that you can fight monsters solo but otherwise great game.Version: 2.8.1

Absolutely Amazing! This is going to sound cheesy, but I have depression and anxiety and I genuinely think this app/site has helped save my life. There are so many ways to use it so you can tweak it as much as you want to get it right for you. The gamified aspect is the best I've ever seen in an app of this sort. The rewards feel meaningful and motivating, at least to me. Only thing stopping it from getting the last star is a recent bug that's been annoying me. For some reason I have to log onto the PC version before the app will recognise we've moved onto the next day, which makes my morning routines difficult. I hope it can be sorted soon..Version: 1.10.1

Good for ADHDI was recommended this app by my therapist, and the customization of the to-do’s and dailies helps me remember small tasks like remembering to brush my teeth. The to-do list is good to help me remember homework, since I have no object permanence when it comes to assignments. However, the app does have some small issues, since the widgets have a weird border, and one time, after completing a quest, I had roughly 1030 XP out of 440 required to level up. This glitch fixed itself after I marked a daily off, and shot me from Level 20 to Level 22. The game also has a lovely community, as everyone’s working to be a better version of themselves to some degree. Overall, keeps me productive, but has some smaller issues that understandably could be a dealbreaker for some..Version: 3.9

Some things to improve onThe app sometimes glitches when I try to move a habit or daily or task and also, the day doesn’t reset properly sometimes Please add feature to remove people from parties.Version: 2.0.4

I want to play with my friendsUm this may be a dumb question but when i send a invite to my friends and they accept it says it’s still pending please fix that bug or do whatever.Version: 3.8.1

Very effective, changes my perception of my responsibilities :)This app really helps provide inspiration to get things done every day to help level up my character. It helps dissociate a significant amount of the potential guilt that I’d typically feel when forgetting to do something, and instead helps me re-associate it with my character simply losing some health. I underestimated how effective this could be. This alone is incredibly positive for my quality of life. The layout for the app is very optimal as well. It features very streamlined functionality, deep features and even adds introductory tasks that remind you to flesh out your schedule when you first set up the app. (This is a really nice touch as it helps getting things going immediately.) Thank you for setting up such a great scheduling app. It’s great for anyone who may struggle with poor memory (particularly those who are familiar with RPG tabletop/video games.) All the best! Chris.Version: 2.4.2

Good app but doesn’t work??So I have a phone from 7 plus years ago amd for some reason this app seems to be incompatible. This don’t make no sense. How a phone from 5 years ago plus doesn’t and because sooo alright thank you..Version: 3.8.1

Thank youSo I’ve had hibachi for a while now and I’ve volunteered as a black smith and I just wanted to say thank you for helping me keep track of my life and helping me meet amazing people who go though the same problems as me 5/5 best app.Version: 2.1.0

I love it! Despite a few bugs here and thereI personally love this app. Yes, there are a few bits here and there that are a little buggy, but ultimately it helps me stay motivated to actually make something of my days and keep me from falling into a pit of laziness and self-loathing. One thing that I would love to see in the future would be an Apple Watch version that allows me to just look at the habits, dailies, and todo lists and be able to check them off as I go, instead of having to pull my phone out every time I do something. Of course I understand limitations with development and won’t be upset if this doesn’t happen. I highly recommend this app if you like making your regular and irregular tasks fun, like being rewarded for each task completed (no matter how small they are), and want to join a community that is overall very supportive of each other..Version: 2.1.0

Annoying bugWhen you press the negitive button to much it deletes the task.Version: 2.8.1

Motivated and Organised! This is a fantastic app, the gamification really helps to keep one motivated! I find I am getting through my to-do’s much more effectively, it’s a great tool against procrastination..Version: 3.3.1

Great idea. Need FIXES and UPDATES.I’m a huge fan of retro style RPG. In fact, I want my life to feel like an RPG game and that’s why I like Habitica and use it. But the mobile app has many problems with execution and overall smoothness. The sync doesn’t work well sometimes. The web version works smoother so I use it but it’s much more convenient to use it on a phone screen. Also, the content amount is rich but the UI and smoothness needs more work. Adding more animations might be a good idea. So I really hope the developers won’t neglect these major weaknesses and tend to them ASAP. I have used Habitica for a long time and I will keep using it. But without updates for smoother and more satisfying user interface/experience, it isn’t likely to happen. I wish the best of luck and success for the development team..Version: 2.1.2

Productivity disguised as a gameI’m in my mid 20’s and got into a mental slump when the pandemic hit and I was working a job that drained every ounce of life that I could give. The only way I could recharge was spending time with my friends, so that was all I wanted to do. Since then I’ve gotten married, moved jobs twice to something that I now love more than anything, gotten 2 cats and a new, bigger apartment. But I still find myself in that mental slump of 0 motivation to do anything but be with people. This app, this game, gave me real-time rewards for doing the mundane, rather than having to wait and see if or when my wife would thank me for doing the dishes or taking out the trash as needed. I had habits that I wanted to break (such as setting repeat alarms or getting back into bed after turning off my alarm and potentially falling back asleep). I wanted to do daily chores to try and get rid of the cockroaches that started to infest our apartment, as of 2 weeks ago, they’re all but gone. This app works if you find fulfillment in being rewarded for doing things, mundane things. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to restart and have a valuable tool to do so.Version: 3.6.6

Inclusive phobia protection feature!!!I use the app with a few friends and it’s great for keeping track of habits and giving me external motivation - which I definitely need to make new habits/ keep up tough ones. I’m really excited about the phobia protection feature though. It is an add-on that will remove images of spiders, snakes, zombies, etc - things people may have phobias of. One of the friends that uses Habitica with me has a massive phobia of spiders and, while I think she’s ok with digital spiders, I never realized how apps I use easily (and invited her to use with me) might not be accessible to her during Halloween. I didn’t realize how important this kind of feature is for inclusivity until I saw it. I know how stressful the phobia is for her in person and I appreciate that Habitica is providing an option for people to avoid seeing potentially upsetting images when they’re everywhere during Halloween season. I just had to drop a review because this kind of feature makes apps accessible to everyone- as they should be. It shows me that Habitica has people behind it that care about other people..Version: 3.0.3

I adore this!I cannot say enough praise for this app. I’m not giving it 5 stars because it’s flawless, because it’s not. It glitches sometimes, but the developers work so hard on improving the app. I’m rating it 5 stars because it’s the first app in my 17 years of life that has never left my phone since I downloaded it. It’s fun, it’s simple, and it’s effective. I’m so happy there is a team that created this idea and put it into the world, this is exactly what I needed. I’ve been using it for close to a year now. When I’m having some depressive episodes, I’m able to pause the “game” until I’m confident in my ability to get back on my feet. Which is something I’m /so/ thankful for. No, I’m not a bot, and I have not been paid a single penny to say any of this. I just genuinely love this app so much. I wanted to show my gratitude towards the developers and everyone that participates in the making and improvement of this app, because it changed my life and I’m forever grateful..Version: 2.8.2

I wish there were iOS 12/13 widgetsEverything is great, but I want iOS 12/13 widgets. That’s my main problem with the app..Version: 3.2.2

User experienceThe web version is easier to use than the application bit hard to find where to go for specific things... also a bit buggy, for instance a chose a class and I leveled up, wanted to put my points in my attributes, but they say that I have to choose a class first... I already chose one... great idea overall, I love the concept and it helped me to procrastinate less..Version: 2.0.8

Honestly changed my lifeI have MADD, and the mental illness had practically taken over my whole life. I never got anything done, and I felt my life slipping away a bit. Then I saw this app begging recommended on Tumblr by people who suffered with ADHD; saying it helped them a lot. I don’t believe I have ADHD, but I am video game motivated; so I thought I’d give it a shot. Best. Decision. Of. My. Life! I have only been using this app for about a month or two, but I already feel my whole life back on track! I feel motivated, productive, and I’m finally getting around to doing all the things I always wanted to do (but never was able to because of my MADD). This app isn’t for everyone. I would readily admit that. It’s also very simple and basic. I understand some people’s complaints. However, if you have trouble being productive like me, and like video games, I say give it a shot. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain!.Version: 2.1.2

To the People Complaining About Bugs...While I’ve been using Habitica, I’ve only seen one bug, and I reported it. A generic, real person replied quickly (within a few days) and suggested I use the website version while they fixed the problem. Came back in a week or less, and it was fixed. Habitica is an amazing community, and I’ve seen the bug reviews are years old. So don’t trust them. They haven’t bothered to update them when the problem gets fixed..Version: 2.8.1

Awesome!! Might I add?An overall task by task way to view things we’ve done both positive and negative. Like some sort of bar graph relative to dates or just some kind of calendar layout altogether? Also a more intuitive setup for reminders. One that actually sends notifications or even alarms. More automation. In depth dailies please. Like being able to set which days I want to be affected by whether or not I went to the gym without having to set that up in the habits category. Or say I drink a lot of monster, I have to separate habit tabs for this a negative for when I do. And a positive if I go the day without. Maybe allow me to set a single habit with this function included almost as a daily. If I don’t hit my negative all day it will reward me assuming I didn’t. Being able to set different values for drinking a single can or going the whole day would be nice as well..Version: 3.4.1

L o v e I tHonesty a life saver I am in love with this app In a week I have changed so much it’s help me to hrydrate more and made me fired when my reminder comes up to exercise I don’t question it and get on it helps me so much thank you Habitica.Version: 3.4.2

Useful and cuteI’ve found this app useful for my mental illness and disability. I’m so much better at knowing how much I have accomplished which helps my self esteem. I have somewhere to remember to do’s. Improved self care. Sense of community. I definitely recommend it to others..Version: 3.4.4

Awesome motivator :)Fun and different way of looking at chores and gameplay :) Would be nice to fine tune the iOS 3D Touch shortcuts as it simply opens the app but doesn’t actually add a To-do etc as such..Version: 1.13.1

6 stars if I could give it!I had a problem with this app- just an in app glitch after using this app for months. Not only were they super helpful, they were incredibly responsive (responding to me on a Sunday), and very thorough! All around, this app changed my life and I could not recommend highly enough..Version: 2.0.1

Super fun way to better habits!Having used this app for a couple years, I can say that my habits are exponentially healthier than they were pre-Habitica. There are also all kinds of ways to interact with other people, if you so chose. Or, you can just do your own thing and be rewarded for your progress (though there are certain aspects of the game that you won’t be able to access alone - like going on quests). I personally feel that some interaction makes for more accountability anyway. Most of the people that I have been sharing a party with are wonderfully supportive, though I have never met them IRL. For a few things, the website is much easier to access (Orb of Rebirth, setting pets and mounts free from the stable). But for the most part, these are things that are done more rarely. In my time on Habitica, the game has improved a lot and they are always adding new things and fixing any bugs. Shout out to all of those working to always make it better. Everything you need to know about how to get the most out of this app is written out in a Fandom Wiki. So, if you are going to really get into it, look for that to find out about all of the great features and how to use them..Version: 3.1

Wonderful App!I love Habitica! I have used this service off and on since it was created, but recently I have started using Habitica every day. I love the separation between Habits, To Dos, and Dailies, as well as the gentle character customization and the inclusion of a place to converse with other players. I have encountered bugs where my items will not be checked off until I do it a few times, or the app will lag when putting a new item. That is the reason for my Four Stars instead of Five. Also, I would really like if we could tag each task under a category, and be able to track that tag with the tasks we did. I think it would be nice to see how many times I checked “Clean my room” and not just as part of a streak. Overall, this app is a great way to keep track of your to-dos. Its interface is simple but effective, and works well for people who enjoy a bit of fun even among the mundane. This is not a full “game,” for anyone confused, but adds an entertainment factor, as well as a rewarding one, for those looking to be more productive. I have tried many productivity apps, and this is the one I consistently remember and come back to. Thank you for making this app!.Version: 2.3.3

Helping me improve myselfI don’t have very good memory so I find this app helpful for organizing the things I need to do, while also having neat light rpg mechanics. (you can set a task to be daily, weekly, or monthly) It’s quite fun watching your character grow and unlock new gear and pets. There are quests you can do and when you work on your personal goals your avatar will progress in their quest. (you can also invite friends to join you on the quests) The dialogue in the game is quite charming as it mixes fantasy with self improvement.( ie having a quest where you fight a horde of dust bunnies or a Loch Ness monster with a leftover pizza box as a head) I’m also happy to say that there is no annoying ad spam or pressure for micro transactions..Version: 3.5.5

Keeps skipping to next dayOverall really like the app and how interactive it, but for some reason there are times where it tries to start a new day hours before it should. For example it’s 5 PM and it’s registering that it is tomorrow already when I went to check off my completed tasks.Version: 3.6.3

Great habit tracker!I really enjoy this app, it keeps me on top of everything I need to do in a fun way. There’s a really strong community in the game that’s open to everyone. Most people I’ve met have been very encouraging and helpful towards in game and real life goals. I would like to see an option being added. If you complete random accomplishments you can get rewarded for it even if it’s not a habit or an already existing task. For example, taking out the trash or loading the dishwasher even though it’s not an objective, you still completed it and could earn in game rewards. Maybe an extra button in the daily’s side for Miscellaneous or “side objectives” just click it every time you do a bonus chore and get instant rewards..Version: 3.5.3

The BEST app on my phone!I absolutely love using habitica. I have tried almost every task manager/habit forming/list/calendar app you can imagine to try and motivate myself and keep my tasks organized. This is the one that did it for me. It’s kept me super motivated and focused on what I need to get done on the daily and I love having a little character that I can level up. It’s such a great idea, and it’s executed so well. If you’re lacking that little bit of extrinsic motivation to finish I really recommend this app! However, it does have a few glitches here and there. Nothing major that would turn me away, but it times out on occasion, and organizing tasks is a little tricky. The task your creating either disappears or re-organizes itself back to where it originally was which is kind of annoying. Exiting out of the app always fixed this, but it does need fixing on the teams end. Besides that, everything is amazing! Keep up the good work!.Version: 2.5.3

BrilliantGreat app for all my Habits and To Do's - I am giving it a 4 Star because its Brilliant but I rest my Character but the reward menu didn't change back to the original 'stock' reward menu. Trust this will be fixed???.Version: 1.14

Excellent tie-in appThe app is an excellent tie-in with the website. It's not a replacement for the website but does an amazing job of keeping your habits and dailies (and feeding pets) up to date while you're on the run. The new update is superb and the interface is clean and simple, and works like a charm. Would definitely recommend to other Habitca users..Version: 1.0

Some issuesMy productivity has improved thanks to this app but I have some critiques. When I tap on an item icon, it sometimes shows the wrong item. I wish I can friend users and send them gifts like eggs, potions or equipment, etc. I think the Habitica team needs to organize their code because there are little glitches here and there..Version: 3.1.1

Runescape ComparisonDo you ever crave the nostalgia of Runescape but you’ve grown up and don’t get the same enjoyment from levelling up in a game or simply don’t have the time to spend on a game? I’ve started to use the app and it’s in a way satisfying that craving but in a more productive way with real world benefits..Version: 3.9.2

Absolutely love.I’ve not had this app long but so far I’ve encountered no issues, really fun and intuitive design and concept, would be great if we could get IFTTT support so I can use my Google Home to add to my To-Do to check off later..Version: 2.1.2

Great for routinesAmazing app and has gotten me up and active although it could have more difficulties other than that flawless.Version: 1.14

A useful place to manage tasks, build new habits and reward yourself. This app is an enjoyable method to both set a list of to-dos, build new habits and develop old ones. It also provides multiple challenges and support for people who want to talk. The game side of the app is a great incentive to encourage users to use the app! Overall, I love the app, it’s really great and helped me a lot!.Version: 2.2.0

Amazing app! This is the best productivity/to-do list app I've ever used! I love how it makes tracking daily activities and habits into a game. Even though I don't participate in quests, the experience and health points are hugely motivating for me. I love that there are three different modes (dailies, habits and to-dos) for tracking different types of activities, so it lends itself well to anything from getting through a daunting to-do list to making and sticking with major (or minor) lifestyle changes. I love the new feature in a recent update that allows you to check off dailies the next morning if you forgot the night before. I forget sometimes and it's great that I can now maintain my streaks even if I spaced checking them off the day before..Version: 1.14

It’s perfect but…I think the only thing missing is a history tab where you can view what days you accomplished/missed tasks or dailies. That way you can see your progress over the days, weeks and months..Version: 3.6.4

Don’t look anywhere else - HABITICA IS THE BEST!!Let me ask you a question. Would you rather be tracking your habits with no fun at all - no reward for completing your daily tasks? Or, would you rather obtain habits, daily tasks, and to-do’s but do them in the form of an RPG game, having fun while checking things off of your list? Well, the first option is every other habit tracking app in existence...and the second option is Habitica. In Habitica, you can add habits, dailies, and to-do’s to your profile. When you complete these things, you gain coins, gems, and health. With coins and gems, you can purchase armor, weapons, pets, etc. These things will help you in quests, whether it’s a collect quest, boss quest, or anything else. You can also join a guild to quest with your best friends. I love Habitica! I was recommended to it by a friend, and now I’m recommending it to you. It adds that little bit of fun that everyone needs in competing boring tasks that you usually procrastinate through and never get done. I’ve only been using Habitica for a few weeks, and I’ve already noticed TONS of positive differences in my lifestyle. I realize that I am happier and more productive each day, and every night I go to bed feeling like I got a lot done that day. I definitely recommend this app to EVERYONE. I’m serious. GET HABITICA NOW!!!.Version: 1.12.1

The only habit making app that worksI will start by saying that I am a huge nerd so I may be biased but I really enjoy that it truly feels like a ttrpg when you work towards your goals, practice good habits, and hold yourself accountable. I personally don’t use a lot of negatives bc punishment as feedback doesn’t work well with me but I really enjoy leveling up and having a party of your friends! The people who made it also helped me when I first found the game and couldn’t download it for some reason, they are responsive and seem to very much care. My only complaint is I wish that I could trade among your party members or have some sort of accountability between each other. Overall it’s an awesome app for nerds and normies alike who just wanna help themselves ❤️.Version: 3.3.3

Loving it so far!I am a teacher with lots of anxiety and just got this about two weeks ago. It is helping me so much with staying focused and keeping track of my mental state with the habits. Being able to have a reward for eating breakfast and doing all the things I need to take care of myself have been incredibly helpful and it is also helping with the work avoidance my anxiety can bring on. Or just the forgetfulness my anxiety can create. The only thing I wish it had was that you could select specific days for the dailies and not just how often they repeat. I try to run or go for a walk on Mon, Wed, Frid, Sat which has made it hard to create a way to track it on the app. But all in all it is incredible and is helping a lot!.Version: 3.4.6

100% epicLove this app!!.Version: 1.7

‘Welcome Back!’ Dailies interface issueI used to be able to swipe down the ‘Welcome Back! Check off any Dailies you did yesterday’ pop-up interface, but I can’t do that anymore after a recent update. Please change it back! I want to also check off Habits, use mana points on spells, and consume health potions, but I can’t swipe down the pop-up interface anymore to get to those things without starting the next day. I usually only check off all my Dailies and Habits in the app right before I sleep at like 2am..Version: 3.6

Exactly what i wantedI was thinking to myself, “i wish there was an app that would make a game out of my todo list,” and then i was pondering how i might teach myself to code just to make said app, when i realized that i have never had an original thought so the app definitely exists— a google search, download, and some time later, and im here giving 5 stars to a phenomenally executed and wonderful concept. only downside is i hate the ponytail hairstyle lol. but this app is!!! i have already had todo lists and task lists my entire life, but to gamify it all is a fun + rewarding way to ensure i feel like i “want” to do the sidequests (my chores)..Version: 3.9.2

This is what I was looking for! When the new year rolled around, I had so many areas of my life that needed improvement that I felt overwhelmed committing to a bunch of New Year's resolutions that I didn't have discipline to keep. I realized I needed accountability and a rewards system, so I started my own on a wall calendar with tally marks...when lo and behold, my coworker alerted me to the existence of Habitica! This app is perfect for me as a social gamer and a self-improvement fiend. My friends jumped in, and the group motivation to check off our individual habits and to-dos is higher than it could ever be. It's like that African proverb: "If you want to go fast, go alone...if you want to go far, go together." If I could make Habitica even better, I'd iron out the bugs (the entire rewards page disappears when I add a new reward, the app crashes for me at least once a day, and sometimes it takes awhile for habits to respond). Also be careful when you're switching between desktop and mobile to make sure the changes you made on either one take effect. But I think this app is doing a great job overall, and if they're committed to the principle of self-improvement that they're purposed for, it could be even more amazing!.Version: 2.2.0

Motivating, cute and exciting!Incredible user interface and just the features I need, and with a very motivating little “gimmick”. I’m actually excited about doing chores and not letting daily tasks lapse!.Version: 1.14

LoveI love this app, it is super fun and motivating! The only feedback I have is that it’s a tiny bit complicated with lots of extras in the menu but otherwise it is brill.Version: 3.6.6

Best gamified task manager everThis has actually organised my life. Finally!!!! Excellently covers the dailies and random todo's and so much more. Clear and easy to use. Ability to level up and unlock attributes etc is so good and does drive me to complete tasks..Version: 1.5.5

Great app, problem w updateI love this app! I believe it has been instrumental with my productivity skyrocketing as of late. Newest update however does not allow me to feed pets and mounts. Looking forward to it bribed fixed..Version: 1.11.1

Good app, but needs moreCould you consider adding few armoire/ avatar badges, so then I would have an idea of my progress of collecting all clothes. PS: You might want to write some single player quests to give more motivations, or something just exciting. Now I am only using Habitica to jot down my to-dos since the function is really neat especially on PC. I run a party and I want to stay with the app and my people. But we are getting tired with the app more and more. Please develop something new and exciting!.Version: 3.5.4

ADHD busted! This game has been AMAZING for helping me overcome my daily neurodivergence challenges - always knowing what exactly I need to do next, how difficult / rewarding it will be and participating in quests with friends forces me to actually check in every day & check off my dailies!! Thank you so much for making this app!! I’ve tried everything prior to this - lists, planners, reminders - but the dopamine rewards of the satisfaction of seeing my streams, checking things off etc are so useful. My only note to developers is that at first I felt very lost, confused by to-dos vs dailies vs habits, and couldn’t figure out how to activate my skills to help my party. More of an in-depth guide or tutorial would have been great. I had to go through the wiki to learn how to really utilize this app - so maybe sending that to new users / having them go through it would be a good way to fix that. I got my brother & friends to join and they also got very overwhelmed at first & kept asking me how to do stuff. Other than that, stellar! 10/10.Version: 3.9.2

Helpful Wonderful CommunityThis app has changed my life. I couldn’t do anything without it. My party and guilds have become my best friends and everybody I have met on the app is incredibly helpful and supportive. The idea of levelling up by doing tasks is brilliant, and I have some really cool pets and mounts. There are different limited edition items also. The best part for me is that the app never pushes you to buy anything. There are also NO ADS. So there are subscriptions and in-game purchases, you are never asked to buy them, and the app runs perfectly fine without them. The gems are mostly spent on getting quests, more pets and cosmetic gear. You can get eggs and hatching potions just by completing tasks, so you still don’t NEED to pay for anything. You can also get gems by winning challenges. Overall, a great app. There are a few bugs here and there, but that cannot take my mind off the amazing community..Version: 2.6.1

This app is terribleI don’t like this app, it is encouraging me to make healthy food choices, get regular exercise and get my work done all for the sake of experience points to level up my character. If only my D&D characters could get experience from eating an apple or doing some light cardio each day….Version: 3.5.4

Does so much!I am so bad at getting things done once the day gets busy, but this app helps me work on habits and to-dos in a fun way. I love that it also gives you a chance to check off dailies you forgot from the day before, when you first open it in the morning. And to me one of the best dailies is the one that says “wrote 3-5 to-do’s for tomorrow” - that one gets my next day off to a good start before bed! There’s much to much to cover here but I love the app. The only thing I’d change is the ability to go on quests alone. None of my friends seems to use the app, and I don’t want to afflict a group of strangers with my unfinished dailies, but this knitter really wants a yarn pet - the quest scroll is maybe the second in-app purchase I’ve ever made!.Version: 1.12

Games: My Weakness!Saw this on the Featured Page of the App Store and I was like... what the? This app is very fun and useful as no one likes losing on a game. And it’s a very weird but powerful type of reminders for those into RPGs. I’ll keep it and wont cheat by ticking off everything I did not actually do. :P.Version: 1.13.1

Great but login issuesRlly enjoyed using the app but had a glitch so I deleted it and reinstalled only to find that logging in with Apple ID doesn’t work. Hopefully they get this sorted so I can get my progress back, would be a shame to have to restart. Please let me know.Version: 3.8.1

A few extra features would make this goldThere are a few tiny extra features would push this app from silver to gold: 1) ability to give permission to others to see your habits. For close friends/partners, this would help motivate each other to succeed. Obviously some tasks/habits are private and there should be the option to decide which habits to show and which to hide 2) to-do app integration - would be great if this was integrated with Microsoft to-do or todoist, so to-do items are automatically synced between the two.Version: 3.5.5

Does the jobs but has some bugsPositives: - It's super easy to make your own custom goals - The quest battles are fun and engaging and really give you motivation to do your goals - The character customisation options are very inclusive with features like wheelchairs and glasses being free from the start - Goals can be made as challenging as you want Negatives: - Unable to rearrange the order of tasks without deleting them all and making new ones - Some of the items seem a little hard to understand how they work? - Setting up monthly tasks seems a bit awkward Overall a fantastic app, would recommend to my friends..Version: 2.1.2

Love this!Great game. Keeps me on track..Version: 3.3.3

Habitica can be a total Game ChangerI’ve been using Habitica for almost two years now, and I’m here to say that as I was initially a casual user of the app, and have moved to being a player in a world parallel yet decidedly different from our own. With Habitica being a highly customizable game, you truly can gamify your habits and tasks to suit your own level of creativity, utilitarianism, minimalism, and community engagement. The guilds are supportive and members are eager to give encouragement and feedback, and the challenges that the guilds provide are usually well written and sometimes use “RPG lingo” to make it more like a game and less like a chore list. I started changing the names of my tasks to “unlock achievements “ and my habit lists to “Activate power ups “ , and it’s been significantly helpful to keep my attention and engagement with the app. Furthermore: purchasing the app is going to be the game changer. While you don’t technically “need” to, it opens up another level of interest and engagement with special Pet and potion Quests, and Habitica gives you a bundle of items every month you subscribe, and a special little pet as a thank you. Purchases keep the app free and free of ads for free users. However, this month I found that the Mystery Gift items did not show up in my Items list. I’m wondering if it’s a bug.Version: 3.0.3

This App Changed My LifeHabitica has completely enabled me to do all the things I previously thought were impossible when I was very low energy. My inability ranged from not responding to professional emails, all the way up to spending all day in bed. After using Habitica the past few weeks, I have started actually achieving goals and following through on promises. I no longer stay up too late, I complete at least the basic chores every day, and my to-do list actually has things getting checked off! If you can, grab a few friends and download this app. It’s literally life changing..Version: 2.1.2

Can't imagine a world without itI've been using Habitica for years. And, let me tell you: as someone with ADHD, this single fact is actually much more significant than it sounds. I have struggled all my life to find an app (or series of apps and schedules and reminders and calendars and motivation to *just keep trying hard enough*) to keep my days together. Nothing has ever stuck aside from Habitica. I absolutely loved and still love the Moleskine suite of apps, but my chaotic, unfocused, and tired brain just can't do minimalism successfully. Habitica, on the other hand, is enormously flexible and expansive, perhaps even overwhelmingly so at first. That said, there is a large & active community of users available to give you ideas for how to use the app and also to encourage you along the way. The community truly puts other apps that boast a "social" component to shame. For me personally, I do use the app to work on habits I'm trying to develop, but I also use it for pretty much every other logistical aspect of my life: project management, collecting/bookmarking, reminders, delegation, and brainstorming. I would be an absolute mess without it. So if you have ADHD or you struggle to keep everything together, I cannot recommend this app enough. Give it a try..Version: 2.9

On App checklistNew user here and I've been loving the app so far!! Would be great if we could check off items from the checklist like how we can do it on web version too. Thank you!!.Version: 3.9.1

Changed my life, not just my habitsI downloaded this app on a whim after struggling with other “task” apps. Now my tweenage son & I live by it. The only app I’ve seen that differentiates between Habits (you want to encourage/discourage), “Dailies” (things to do every day... or whatever your schedule is) and Todo’s (the more than a task items, or goals). The community challenges are both inspiring way to set goals and a great support in completing activities. The ability to create groups tasks has been great... who does the washing/ironing/bins etc... WE do. and on top of all that... it’s a game! A very cute game. You don’t want your little dude to die right? You do want to be on a dragon right?.Version: 2.3.1

Awesome appHonestly I been looking for this type of app for the longest time and I’m so glad someone made this concept it’s awesome. The only issue is that the app and website is buggy à. You guys got to fix the chat it’s soooo leggy and slow. We got to always reload everything..Version: 3.7.3

Pretty decentHabitica is good for staying organized and I like the take they took on this app by making it sort of like a game. I have yet to connect with friends so maybe when I do it will serve as a stronger incentive to stay motivated and get things done. However if there was one thing I can add to this it would be a sort of calendar and or tracking device atleast to see what you have done so far in your past days. For example if I have a habits list that I want to complete for the day I want to be able to look back and see my progression from getting only some done to getting all of them done consistently. I think it would help to see what I have accomplished so far and same things with the habits section so I can see what days I was working more on developing habits and or doing the habits I am not fond of..Version: 3.4.5

I’m a fan butWould love a horizontal swipe navigation option to switch between tabs for tablet.Version: 3.3

Top notch, would recommendI started using this app after reading a glowing recommendation on a ‘how to get things done’ site, and it has not disappointed. Much like the grownup version of a sticker chart, this app encourages the user to perform those boring day to day chores and tasks that we keep meaning to do but forget about. Some particular things I like: - the fact that before rolling over to the next day, it will ask you what things you may have forgotten to check off the day before, so you don’t get penalized for ‘not logging in’ -the variety of categories tasks can be put in: one time items vs once a day items vs multiple times a day items -being able to subdivide tasks into smaller sub take by using checklists Some things I’d really like to see: -the ability to send other members in your party a task—I feel like this would be especially useful for shopping lists -being able to save or repost a past to-do. This would be great for those chores that are infrequent or dependent on some sort of irregular outside thing (the weather) but involve enough complexity that recreating could be a pain. To limit lag and storage this could be limited to saving up to 5 to-dos? That said, all of this would be bonus material and I intend to keep using this app long term and recommending it to others..Version: 3.1.3

Trouble loadingReally love this app but recently I haven’t been able to load it up properly. I click on the app but then it force exits me out. I have tried deleting and downloading it again but it didn’t help..Version: 3.3.2

Love! But needs workI absolutely love this app! It’s a perfect concept, and really motivates me to get things done! I love having a little character to level up, and getting pets and mounts, doing quests—it’s all so motivating and fun for me to do things irl now!! And i love the multiplayer function, having a party with my irl friends, and doing quests together, the guilds are fun, and I love the challenges!! However, I will say that the app needs a bit of work still. There seems to be a few glitches and kinks that need to be worked out, when compared to the website version. One of the big ones I’ve noticed is I don’t get a pop up upon completion of a quest, detailing what happened at the end (like what happens on the website version), I also don’t get a check in pop up on the app. Another mild annoyance is that half of the time, when I go to my tasks, they will be all out of order, and not in the order I put them in. Exiting out of the app and reopening it usually solves this, but it’s a bit annoying. These little glitches aren’t enough to stop me from using the app but I do hope they eventually get worked out!!.Version: 2.4.2

Need to fix task rearranging bugThis app is great after the recent updates, but there is still a bug whenever you try to rearrange tasks, dailies, or to-do’s where the task list freaks out (for lack of a better word) and does bizarre things like duplicating the task you’re moving, temporarily overwriting other tasks to look identical to the one you just moved and then a few seconds later “updating” them so they’re all in the wrong places, or just plain reordering the list while you’re moving a task so everything shuffles out of order. This has been a problem since 3 or 4 versions ago and it’s still not fixed; it doesn’t impede daily use, but if you ever want to rearrange things, you have to struggle for 10 minutes to get them in the right order or else give up and use the website. If this gets fixed this app is 5 stars from me..Version: 1.11.3

Literally Changed my LifeI know that there are some bad reviews for this app but it’s just not for everybody. It is for me though and I have been struggling for a long time with motivation and making myself care about life. I have always had one passion that has stuck with me through the years though and that is video games. This app fuses my priorities in life with my passion and this gives me a reason to keep going on the app multiples times throughout the day. This has seriously helped me with my depression. People who already have their priorities straight wouldn’t appreciate this app as much as the many people around the U.S. (and other countries) that struggle every say with giving up. Thank you sincerely for giving me a reason to keep fighting another day..Version: 1.12.1

+100 ProductivityThis app is AMAZING!! The concept of being rewarded and customisation is really motivating, because it pushes me to complete my tasks so that I don’t lose health and I can buy things to further level up and customise my character. It has really maximised my productivity as well, which is relieving... cheers to the team for their hard work :D.Version: 1.14

THIS GOT MY LIFE TOGETHERI literally love everything about this app. It got my entire life together. I credit it for my productivity in every aspect. It really is perfectly tailored for the user. A couple reasons why you should totally get this app: -The combination of ways to write tasks is soooo convenient! There are dailies for what you do on a repeated day to day or week to week basis, habits for things you want to do but aren’t quite doing every day yet, and a to-do list. This way I can keep “brush your teeth”, “keep your room clean”’ and “organize your desk” separated by appropriate category. -The gaming aspect is AWESOME! With other apps you check something off your todo and then that’s it. No real reward. With Habitica I get excited to level up or buy new items for my avatar! Plus I can make my own rewards so I can buy myself set rewards like “go out for ice cream” with currency I earn by completing my tasks. -With every missed daily or negative habit you lose life. This keeps me motivated to stay on top of things. But if I do fall behind, I just have to work a bit harder to buy a healing potion that can bring my health back up. I have to use the same gold that would be going towards my rewards otherwise, so it’s good motivation to stay productive. Honestly, just give this app a try. It’s really worth it. If you’re the type to be motivated by games, leveling up, and earning rewards, this is definitely the best app you can have for this type of thing..Version: 2.4.2

ExcitedI’m really excited to use the app. However everytime I try to register an account it says ‘couldn’t connect to the server’. Please fix this I really want to use the app >___<“.Version: 1.14

The good and the badGood: has really helped me want to complete goals. Even when I procrastinate, now I do it by completing my less intimidating goals. Bad: I shouldn’t be required to connect to the internet for my habits, dailies, to-dos, rewards, etc. Only the social stuff needs internet, and I have absolutely no interest in the social stuff. Maybe just give a brief warning “Your guild (or whatever social thingy) needs internet to connect/count!” Buggy: I need to refresh the page several times for some dailies and other goals to show up. Not only only that, but my habits are displaying multiples over new goals. For example: I add a habit that says “Read a book” but when I refresh to make it show up I have two habits that say “Floss.” Clicking shows which habit each really is, but refreshing simply jumbles everything up further, For example creating two “Read a book” (covering 10 minutes of Cardio) and leaving Floss alone..Version: 2.0.8

I like it. I do have some suggestionsDailies are satisfying to check off. The thing is that it would be more satisfying to have levels. If I do my bare minimum of 7k steps, then great I check it off. But if it's the weekend and I do 10 or 15k, I'd like the option to add and track the increased difficulty. Have them turn red/orange/green the more you're able to do them. They turn blue? Maybe it's time to up your goal! Have an extra something to push for and having so that not doing extra doesn't hurt... would be awesome. I know there's the habit section where you can plus or minus, but it's not the same. Any way, cut motivating program and todo list. It helps remind me to focus on my good habits and I use it for my goal setting as well as planning project tasks with h completion dates. My wife loves it for the collecting..Version: 1.10.1

A brilliant app, but for me, BuggyI absolutely love this app. For both me and my partner, it has inspired genuine change. I love the concept, and think it’s really nicely executed, it has helped me establish and keep up genuine habits! The only problem I am finding, is that it’s buggy. I will regularly load the app, and it won’t have caught up from the day before. I tick off habits, that will then disappear and re-appear at random points. For a day, I lost my entire character, and with it all my to-do’s / habits. Thankfully they all came back, but the other bugs still continue. Hoping it can get patched out, but I feel performance does need improving a little. Would be 15 out of 5 stars if that was the case..Version: 3.8.1

Fantastic app and exceptional dev supportThis app has made managing my time so much easier (and fun). I really struggle with remembering to so things, from important tasks to everyday stuff like wash the dishes. This app makes me *want* to tick those things off my list! Also, special shout-out to the support and dev team for helping me troubleshoot and issue on my iPhone that I couldn’t reproduce on the web version on my iPad. 10/10..Version: 3.4.2

Awesome tool, awesome communityIf you’re a self improvement junkie like I am, you’ll love Habitica. It has all of the habit tracking needs, from tasks that repeat daily, habits you can check at any time, and a to-do list and rewards column that allow you to modify your life as much as you like. You can use Habitica as much or as little as you like — some just use it as a simple habit tracker, others go deep and socialize, contribute, and play. There are some lower star ratings on this app because yes, it has been known to be buggy — but my 5 Star is for the community, which (in the true spirit of the app) is full of moderators and staff members who work diligently to improve what’s not working and volunteer contributors who help make Habitica a more rewarding place for everyone..Version: 2.0.4

For those of us who need a little extra nudge of motivation. This game is it. It’s adorable and easy to use. So your chores or projects or just daily habits you want to make routine are rewarded instantly. (You know us millennials with our instant gratification) You might one day go for a run and pick up an egg! Panda, wolf, dragon? You may stumble upon a quest to complete with your friends, or you can just hack away at your own habits; either way it’s a great idea. This app has helped me immensely. I’ve always wanted to have a routine because humans are generally happier when they follow one. I just couldn’t force myself to do things like get out of bed before 9 or brushing my hair or doing my school work. I have moderate to severe depression which makes day to day habits that most people do without thinking a lot more difficult for me. Even things like just driving to the pharmacy to get my anti depressants. So if I find something difficult, I put it in my habitica list and it gives me an extra nudge of motivation. Five stars for sure..Version: 2.3.2

Clean interface but lack of updatesI've loved using this app for years and years, and it genuinely helped motivate me to start healthy habits for the better. It's simple but effective, has a clean interface, and the separate tabs for habits/daily tasks/one-off to-dos is so much easier to navigate than other apps that throw them all together in one list. The paid gems & premium subscriptions are pretty reasonable too - free players get full functionality and paid players can buy quests for extra cosmetics or host challenges. On the downside, the app's had few content updates and once you run out of free quests there's not much left to work towards besides those monetized cosmetics. The community aspect has also wound down - with staff alienating the volunteer mods in a messy situation - so the guilds and chatrooms were shut down too. I learned so much from the supportive communities there, so that social aspect is sorely missed. TLDR: Good app that could use content updates and a reinvigorated social scene. (Edited from a previous review).Version: 3.8.1

Life changing appA fantastic app that has enabled me to get a better grip on my ADD. I'm actually accomplishing things on a daily basis! If the app is crashing on you after the September update, deleting and reinstalling should fix the problem..Version: 1.11.1

I liked it way before it was coolI've been using this app since 2014 or 15 (when it was still called HabitRPG) and I love it! It's so useful, the community is supportive and active and great, and the devs are constantly working on ways to improve and optimize the user experience. I've never had any issues with the app other than sometimes the updates take a few weeks to stabilize, which seems pretty reasonable for a free app, particularly when the updates themselves are generally ambitious and generally make my life easier once they do work out the bugs. I started subscribing about a year ago because I have so much gratitude for this app and how much it's helped me. I don't make a lot of money but $30 every 6 months is doable. And it's fun to buy the in-game extras now that I've released a full stable a couple times etc..Version: 1.14

Great app so far but some feedbackFrom what i’ve used so far the app is quite what is expected. However, the app could do with the option to add a widget the home screen and look screen to keep up with added convenience and see what you have to do for the day without opening the app itself.Version: 2.2.0

Fantastic - bordering on life-changingI could not run my life without this app. That's the shortest possible way I can describe my experience with it after using it for three years. It's cute and fun and its structure grasps something that few other task management apps have been able to replicate. Separating habits, periodical tasks and one-off to-do's is simple but like many simple things, it took a long time for somebody to do it! Now that Habitica has, though, there's no going back for me. Recent updates have introduced some annoying bugs but the developers are responsive and hard-working. I'm sure they'll iron them out quickly as they always do. The glitches are worth putting up with, especially because you can use Habitica in a browser, where there are few glitches. The browser use means that you can have it open in a tab on your computer at work, in class or anywhere else and not have to worry about using your phone. This thing is just so versatile. It only loses a star because some of its current bugs are a bit of a hassle. Let me repeat myself, though: they are worth putting up with for this gem of an app..Version: 2.1.2

BrilliantI love this app, it's the perfect way for me to keep track of things I need to do on a weekly or monthly basis (as I tend to forget). The only problem I have is I seem to be unable to delete rewards! I was over zealous when I first started and made tonnes of rewards for myself which Im now finding I dont want most of and find it hard to remember the ones I do like to use regularly (treat myself to a coffee etc). If this feature could be added that would be great!.Version: 1.11.3

Amazing concept but…This app is amazing but not satisfying enough for it to become something i use often, it should be addictive like every other game except actually useful. I think this could be way better for example, make it so that each task can get custom resources and then you have to craft them into stuff by doing more tasks which would be way more motivating. Also lack of calendar.Version: 3.9.1

GoodIt’s a very fun and great way to develop new good habits and get rid of old ones, the only problem with this app is that whenever you buy something from the rewards area, I have to restart the game to have it show up, it doesn’t take long tho so it’s not that big of a deal. Sometimes crashes for unknown reasons too.Version: 2.2.0

So goodOk everything is good and all but i broke my game so now i cant go into the app or it kicks me out and i cant do anything lol.Version: 3.4.4

Can’t share progress with friendsI started a “party” with my friend, and we tagged the challenges we made for our daily habits, but the website doesn’t show each other’s progress..Version: 3.5.2

Amazing appI never write reviews for apps but this is a really really funky concept for an app to be honest. I love games, especially ones where I can level up, gain experience, have my own avatar & generally feel like I’m being rewarded for my efforts My psychology is really weird, when I compete a task normally, I don’t get any gratification from it instantly, example, going to the gym, but I’m still not ripped yet lol. By going to the gym now, I can actually gain experience for doing it which makes me feel like I have been rewarded for doing it, thus making we want to do it again I’ve only had the app for a couple of days but I love it, I’m going to continue using it, invite some friends to I keep myself accountable & try to make the most out of it! I would recommend to anyone who just struggles to find the motivation to do something, I’ve been a long lover of games since I was a kid (and I will be for many many many more years to come) and it’s just something about this app that does it for me, it’s pleasant, user friendly & really well presented. All of the reviews you see about the app being “buggy” or “glitchy”, I’ve not encountered any bugs or glitches as of yet, everything worked incredibly well! Thanks Habitica!.Version: 3.2.3

Reporting a bugAwesome as always, but the app keeps crashing with the latest update, before it even starts up properly.Version: 1.11.1

I love it!I really like this app overall, its super helpful. i can keep note of everything i need to do in a week and track bad habits. its a great way to stay organized. one thing that would be super super helpful would be to be able to make exceptions for not completing a task under dailies. if im away from home and have no way to do something or if it just doesnt need to be done then i still take damage from not doing it- there are times when it would be worse to do then to not do. if i had a dentist appointment i cant brush my teeth at the end of the day, but i still take in-game damage for it. i also have a suggestion for when you choose the difficulty of a task. there are four options- trivial, easy, medium, and hard. sometimes i feel that a task isnt quite one of those four. i would prefer to have a slider so that it could be in between two options, and i wouldnt have to just pick one. thats my two cents! thank you for creating this, i love it!.Version: 3.4.8

This is the best thing!First, three facts about me, for background: One, I am a single parent with four kids, six pets, a bunch of house plants, and an extremely busy life. Two, I have tried dozens of productivity and habit tracking apps. Three, I hate video games and computer games. BUT… this app is amazing. It makes even my least favorite tasks desirable, it keeps me motivated to do things even when I’m exhausted, and it keeps me focused on what I need to do, even when I have a million distractions. I probably never would have tried it had it not been mentioned in a New York Times article (not even about tech or anything like that, it was about a day in the life of a Zen chaplain). I figured I’d give Habitica a shot, but with very low expectations. I’m so glad I tried it! It benefits me and every living being in my house every single day. I fully recommend it to anyone who’s trying to build good habits and/or be more productive, even if you think it’s not for you. Try it for a couple days, and I bet you’ll see benefits. And have fun!.Version: 3.1.3

Great for To Do lists and GTD Getting Things DoneBest app I've used so far for helping achieve daily tasks, improve good habits and discourage bad habits, and managing a GTD Getting Things Done approach to To Do lists. Very handy filtering. Key thing for me is the gameified approach to tasks. This is especially helpful if you join or form a party and start doing Quests. The incentive to compete Daily tasks and help defeat the monster and avoid damaging the party members has been enough of a mental nudge to really help me a lot with motivation. Plus it's fun and unobtrusive so that it doesn't get in the way of actual daily work. Great integration between fully featured website and the functional phone app. Nicely designed app too. Well done Habitica team..Version: 1.8

Folder optionLove this app! I think if there was a folder option that would be suuuper handy! Cheers!.Version: 1.14

AMAZING APP!!!I have only been using this app a few days but I am already in LOVE. I have tried so many different habit apps and this one has been the most engaging and successful so far!! Other apps have either required a subscription or just aren’t as motivating. Having it as a video game format with (in game) consequences/ rewards for your character holds me accountable and motivates me to actually do the tasks! Thank you so much!! Note to creators: First of all, thank you! If you guys ever do decide to make payment a requirement for the functions of the app- please consider a one time payment, rather than a subscription service. People (myself included) are way more likely to buy an app for a few dollars (or perhaps trial then buy), rather than an ongoing subscription payment. You all of course deserve compensation for your work, however I think it’s worth keeping in the mind that a one-off payment could be way more successful. Regardless, thank you for this app- wishing you all the best !.Version: 3.4.6

I love this app!!The app is amazing!!! I use the webpage version when I have my computer with me, other times I use the app. Such a great concept! One minor issue is that the app freezes occasionally and links won’t work on apps..Version: 2.1.2

Fantastic motivationThis app is great, and has most certainly helped me with keeping up with daily tasks through its gamified aspects. I don’t like my group taking damage when I don’t do parts of my ideal routine, so it helps me do tasks I find difficult to motivate myself to do..Version: 2.4.2

Worth getting no matter the glitchesThis app has been spectacular for getting me into habits !! I have improve so much over the past week of using it! This is ideal for gaming lovers however i like to collect the pets for example which may be more up other peoples streets. The downside however is that some habits and items delete on the own after making however it is only a minor glitch and only happens now and again..Version: 2.3

A bit life changing ?Never thought I’d say this about an app but I started using this about 9 months ago and it’s honestly helped me through my final year of uni. I use it every day and I find that breaking things down into checklists really gives my brain that little bit of serotonin it needs to keep on doing work. It’s sad that we need to resort to things like this to maintain our focus, but considering I am currently procrastinating by writing this review about how an app has stopped me procrastinating...I think we need all the help we can get sometimes..Version: 3.2.3

Really Helpful for School! It’s ridiculously hard to stay motivated during virtual classes, and I think Habitica has been a big help! I have all my school assignments up on my To-Do list, which is really helpful for keeping track of what to do and for staying motivated in the middle of working on an assignment. The main reason why I love it so much is that it’s ridiculously effective for me and it’s just what I was looking for. A lot of other habit-tracker/to-do list apps aren’t in an engaging format, and I delete them after slowly losing interest over the course of a few days. I didn’t have this problem with Habitica, because of how it’s part game and part productivity tracker. I’ve been looking for an app like this for ages, and I didn’t find this until my friend recommended it (and thank goodness she did). I haven’t noticed any bugs, other than the occasional small bug that comes from not syncing with the happening on my computer quickly enough. Occasionally there’s an issue where I check off a To-Do list item or a Daily and it doesn’t change color immediately, but it’s no big deal because the color changes if I go to another tab and then go back to the original. I’m also not entirely sold on the idea of gems basically being only obtainable through money, but I can appreciate that the things they purchase confer mostly cosmetic benefit..Version: 3.0.1

WidgetI think it would be really cool to see a widget function with the new IOS update so that I could update habits easier.Version: 3.1.3

3 month ReviewI’m an Autism/ADHD Support Service Provider and University Student. I’ve been using this daily for 3 months with one of my students (We formed a party). Here is what it has helped me with: - Organization - Positive reinforcement for mundane tasks - Daily Accountability (And some competitiveness) - An awesome way to reward my students for assignments that need to be done via “Gems”. - Reframing schoolwork as “Challenges” instead of.. work. - Found a fun community (Guild) for people using the Forrest App, which has increased my Forest App usage and productivity tremendously! - Given me a good way to measure my success as I grind through the first year of a CS degree online. - Allowed me to be a kid again. Here is what it hasn’t helped me with: - A drive to succeed in life - It hasn’t magically fixed my problems All in all, I really enjoy the app and will continue to use it as there is tons to achieve in-game despite being 3 months in. My student and I bond over it, and he actually does homework for gems which is a miracle in itself. The Resource Teacher is impressed, his Mom is stoked, and my student is getting things done. I bought 60 gems for $10 (sale) which I expect to last us both a year in challenges. Big thanks to the Habitica team for creating such a fun idea and for helping people everywhere get things done. Amazing what some imagination and hard work can do. Cheers..Version: 3.6.4

Love it but crashes a lotSo I love how much this app has helped me getting my daily task done and specially making habits. It was recommend to me by a blogger called Tom Frank aka College Info Geek. Buuuut it keeps crashing so much that it is annoying.. but I still will use it because it’s amazing and fun.Version: 1.10.1

So close to perfectThis is a really wonderful app. I’ve been using it now for over two years, and it’s been (literally) life changing. One small request though - it used to be that you could tap off the “Welcome back!” Dailies list that appears after cron. This was extremely useful to also add in any habits, tick off to dos, buy any necessary health potions, cast any spells, etc, that I meant to do the day before. I try not to look at my phone before bed, so there’s usually a fair number of these to do before starting a new day. On a recent update though, this feature was taken away. Why?!?! Please can we have it back? I hate fighting with my favourite app first thing in the morning and keep being unfairly damaged, losing lives and equipment because of this. But elsewise, thanks for everything you do.Version: 3.7.2

Love it!I really love Habitica, it motivates better than any other app I've tried! I'm curious about if you guy have ever considered integrating an Apple Watch component as well?.Version: 2.10.1

Best App Ever!I’ve been using Habitica for over a year and it has become my go to for to-do lists, habit tracking, and general motivation. I can open the app quickly to check off food bought at the store, give myself a little mental reward for following up on an email, or remind myself that it’s trash day tomorrow. I’ve gotten my entire family into it and now we play as a party, congratulating one another for staying on track! The developers clearly really care about the users and are always sending out cute updates about improvements. I played for free for a year until I had gotten almost all of the rewards and now pay the small monthly subscription to unlock the bonus materials. You can definitely play for free indefinitely and have a great time..Version: 1.14

Notification problems.I get notifications on my ipad for reminders, but my iphone doesn’t. Have tried reinstalling and resetting them but nothing works. Really lowering my enjoyment of an app I love..Version: 2.1.2

Very EffectiveI’ve tried lists and calendars and all sorts of organization methods to try to get my crap together, but this app solved it all in the matter of a week. I’m way more productive and I can actually establish a routine. I can actually remember what I’m trying to accomplish on a daily basis and it’s wild just how productive and happier I am. An actual life-changing app. Thanks for such a great product..Version: 3.6.3

Excellent appI had dipped into using the Habitica app previously, but a few bugs put me off long-term usage. Happy to say on return to it a couple of years later it seems to be working perfectly and is genuinely motivating and fun. Recommended..Version: 3.2.2

Lovely app and conceptApart from the occasional crash it is a great app that keeps you motivated and meet new people.Version: 1.11.3

Love itI love this app so much! It can be very glitchy at times, nothing closing and reopening the app cant fix, but it’s can get annoying sometimes. I have huge dreams for what this app can be capable of. I’m honestly hoping for a Runescape vibe with a skill system and maybe more quest lines with acheivement related goals like, the tale of gaining knowledge or something. An adventure! With requirements! And rewards! And knowledge! Also maybe like as your leveling up your skills you could unlock like new “abilities to do things” like say the skill was “Strength” so at lvl one it’d be like “lift 95 for bench one time” and like the unlockables could be custom at each level. I think it’d be huge motivation to keep the app because it will show all your achievements through out your adventure if done right. 😁.Version: 1.14

It worksI used to have a massive procrastination problem. I downloaded this, and it made me motivated to try and do my work. Imagine grinding in a videogame to get resources: In this case the grinding is doing stuff you have to get done in real life. Makes everything more fun, has certainly improved my life. To anyone with a procrastination problem, download this. It works..Version: 3.4.3

Good idea but...This app is a really good idea and I definitely think that I would benefit from using this however the app keeps crashing after being on the app for about 10 seconds and I can't understand why?.Version: 1.10.1

I would give 100 starsThis app has changed my life I have lost so much weight. And i eat healthier food and I have completed task the I was meant to do years ago.Version: 2.1.2

Great IdeaThis is a great concept, and it’s really helped me to get on track with stuff! The reason I’ve only given it four stars is that it’s really buggy. Tasks which have been completed reappear unticked, occasionally it doesn’t register the previous days tasks, or doesn’t refresh itself at the start of a new day. If these bugs could be ironed out, this would be a five star app. As it stands, it’s still worth downloading, but be prepared to put up with occasions frustrations..Version: 2.0.8

A habit tracker/motivator that’s actually funAs a chronic procrastinator, I’ve gone through my share of apps intended to kick myself into action toward my goals, and nothing has worked as well as Habitica. It perfectly aligns my real-world goals with my insatiable need for collectible digital pets... I almost wish I was joking, but no, collecting virtual animals in this game has somehow been a more effective motivator than anything I’ve tried. Plus, joining a party and talking to other real humans with real human ambitions has really ramped up my motivation to be even more ambitious with my goals. A little buggy sometimes, but the app has a lot of heart behind it and despite occasional problems connecting to the server is still just an all-around delight to use. To the devs, thanks!.Version: 2.3.4

Great app!Just started using it. Seems a bit buggy still but has lots of promise! Thanks for creating this, it will help a lot of people!.Version: 2.0.8

Good! Like itI thought this app was a good idea, and it was! But after the first day, all of my tasks disappeared! It also has the number at the bottom of the screen so I am sort of confused. Maybe just fix that? - cecilia.Version: 1.13.1

Has some bugsI really quite enjoy this app so far. I've used it in the past and I love the motivation it gives me. But using the app is kind of frustrating because it feels kind of clunky and unpolished. For instance, I am unable to scroll all the way up and see the health bar on my character -- I am autoscrolled back down and so that is constantly covered. Similarly, I am unable to see all of the very bottom habit/task/daily for similar reasons. It's frustrating because I continuously miss the very bottom thing and then forget about tasks. Also, when trying to edit a task, I am immediately editing the title of said task. This gets annoying if I'm trying to edit the attributes of a lot of tasks at once and it continues to make me tap out of editing the title. Lastly, when trying to rearrange tasks, sometimes the interface will bug out and reset my arrangement so I have to start over. If these could be fixed, I would enjoy this experience a lot more..Version: 1.13.1

Great app, but could be even betterAfter becoming aware of my problem with IOS games and how much time i waste on them, I wondered if a game existed that actually encouraged you to be productive and improve yourself. I struggle with severe productivity anxiety and it really hurt my college attendance and grades, but this game has worked wonders! There are some small improvements I would LOVE to see from the game that would really add to it! 1. You can score the difficulty of the tasks you would like to accomplish, which give rewards proportionate to the difficulty. I find that this game works the best when I set the difficulty to hard, as that’s the only real way that I feel truly accomplished and rewarded for doing things. I think the rewards should be even better. 2. Leveling up doesn’t really do much. You have to get all the way to level 10 to even choose a class. I need something to incentivize me to really really wanna level up. 3. I wish there was an actual game I could play with my character, like a JRPG style turn-based combat system. Your character DOES fight bosses, but you don’t really get to join them. This game is really on it’s way to something great, but I’m really hoping for a big overhaul of content soon!!.Version: 3.0.1

Best In ClassI had an idea for an RPG todo-list app to entertain myself while keeping track of my progress on my todo-list and make the process less monotonous so of course I started by researching the market before I build my own and holy WOW that are so many! I tried quite a few over the last few days and I have to say that Habitica is by far the absolute best- not only because of its superior UX/UI but also because it doesn’t force you into a subscription just to be able to access the basic features and leaves the subscription to be very optional This makes me want to subscribe for a while just to thank the devs The only thing that could make this app even better is if they implemented a widget that lets you see your todo-list without having to open the app I understand making it so that you have to open the app to check things off but to do that every time you want to see the list of items is kinda annoying haha If there was a widget that lets me see the todo list on the Home Screen it would add an extra layer of convenience which would definitely improve the app’s already amazing UX!.Version: 3.7.2

Pleasantly surprisedI have ADHD, and a classic trait of ADHD is that while constantly picking up new healthy habits, like keeping a new agenda or setting alarms for tasks etc. is necessary and good, it’s also sort of futile because no matter what, an ADHDer is always going to lapse and drop said habit — which, hey, whatever, just pick it up again and keep trekking on! But it’s still such a discouraging cycle… but Habitica is the first of these new healthy habits I’ve picked up and maintained so easily for such a long stretch of time. It’s genuinely fun! In order to fight monsters and get sick new loot, you HAVE to check into the app, confirm that you’ve done your homework or your chores or you’ve brushed your teeth… what an awesome idea. Oh, and it has tons of “guilds” and “parties” to join which are essentially just fun little clubs focusing on topics from your favourite TV shows to mental health support. The app has minor flaws, sure, and it would be cool if the art and customization features were more elaborate in the future, but Habitica executes this idea decently well and I have nothing to be mad about :).Version: 3.6.6
