✓ THIS IS THE WORST APP EVEROne Saturday my dad made me get this app at first I was like ok he’s just managing how much time on using on my phone but I have OCD and if ur like me then u always need to swipe up to so u feel like ur organized but when I did it with the screen time app it deleted ALL my apps and when I go back to the screen time app to get all my apps back it mixes it them up and it annoys me very much because I have a folder for everything and seeing all my apps all mixed up makes me sad because I worked hard on trying to organize them into different folders. It also doesn’t let me go on safari to research things because I’m a curious 12 year old in middle school and sometimes I get in trouble for not doing what my teacher tells me to do because THE STUPID SCREEN TIME APP DOESNT LET ME GO ON SAFARI. ✓ DO NOT INSTALL Ruined my iPadAll was going well, the app temporarily 'erased' apps during the set time. But when they reappeared, all folders were permanently gone and apps just came back alphabetically ordered. Even worse, not all the apps have come back! There is a fix but I would have needed to know about it before this happened and there's nothing at all in the setup instructions about installing the fix before it destroys everything. Now there are 12 pages of apps that need to be sorted back into manageable order, and many that are just not there. So much for limiting screen time..Version: 1.9

✓ My daughter has no access to her appsI downloaded it because both my kids were on their devices too much, my daughter’s phone has this app but it completely restricts her and does not let her open her apps. Even if she didn’t swipe away the app on the background it locks them away and after getting them back again they go back to being locked in a matter of seconds. I chose a few certain apps to be left for when they are shut off because of her anxiety she listens to music when she is stressed. The wifi was completely cut off from her phone and data wouldn’t work. She has multiple panic attacks during this time when she had no one with her as she couldn’t listen to music. If we took her phone away, she would cry and refuse to eat. We installed this app and hope to limit her game time to 1 hour per day. It looks like it would work and it looks like it is more advance than other apps available. It is also the most expensive once the trail is over at $4.99 per month. If it works, it worth $4.99 per month. However, my daughter figured out how to delete this app in less than 5 minutes. I installed it back and she deleted it again the next day. She told me she just Googled "How to delete Screen Time" and it came to a two steps instructions right away. That is way too easy. There are many people posting the cracking instructions. Screen Time should make it undefeatable first before release it. It took over my phone with VPN connection, my WiFi/ 3G network/ iPhone setting. I had to completely eraser my phone to factory settings and restore from backup. It took me hours to sort out, resulting changing all my passwords as I would not know what information they collected from my phone using VPN connection. ✓ Too buggyThis app has made my life miserable. I would rather have nothing at all to monitor screen time for my kid than to hear the constant crying when the apps disappear every 5 minutes - even when there should be 2 hours of time left on it for the day. The only way to get it working without an issue is to turn off the timer and put it in “free play mode” all the time, which basically gives them unlimited time and completely defeats the whole purpose of the app. It worked fairly well during the free trial (there were a few issues, but they were not unmanageable), but it seems like ever since I paid for a month of access the issues have been constant. I was also under the impression that you could lock some apps but not others (like educational apps) when their time is up, but that is not the case. It’s all or nothing. I am canceling my subscription even though I just paid for a month of access two days ago because the constant crying and hassle of having to reset the app every few minutes is just not worth it to me. Basically on the 14day trial of premium it locked up the iPads, the app was locked and the online instructions to unlock didn't work. Whilst the developer has made an admirable attempt to try and hack a screen time-limiting parental control together, the reality is that the iOS platform doesn't provide the necessary system access. If a child deletes (or just closes) the screentime app on their device it stops working. Even when running the timing itself was dubious - often allowing access for longer than set. I’m seriously annoyed that apple have decided not to provide decent parental controls on iOS devices and I’m afraid screentime is easy bypassed and pretty rubbish as a result. ✓ AppsThis app is really annoying when your parents haven’t set a time because for me I can’t use my apps because they keep getting deleted by screen time. Even when I deleted screen time, it came back and kept deleting my apps which was infuriating since I had paid for most of them. It is silly because you can’t sign out of screen time. For a start the app will block your child’s phone if they accidentally swipe it closed; we all do that and it’s just a pain deactivating it again. Then because it has to be controlled from your phone, it creates a VPN, which then seems to prevent the phone from connecting to anything via WiFi or data, meaning that when your child “accidentally” deletes the app, you cannot re-download it without deleting the phone from your screen time app, re-downloading the app on your child’s phone then setting it all up again. ✓ 0 Stars Not An OptionSuch a frustrating experience with them - including several of their tech support personnel and whoever works in billing. There was a problem with the app that couldn’t be fixed. I worked with them for months, going back and forth with emails, screen shots, following their directions to uninstall and reinstall the application numerous times (we have five kids, so multiply by five kid devices and two parent devices). In the end, they were unable to resolve the issue. I asked for a refund, and was told I would have to go through iTunes since my purchase was made through the App Store. They emailed me a link to specific instructions, which I followed. Because their attempts at resolving the issues had taken so long, it was beyond the number of days to be refunded. I was told I would have to file a dispute with iTunes against them since it was beyond the days to be refunded. After telling me that I could be refunded, Screen Time fought the dispute, which caused Apple Credit Card Services to reject my card number for fraud, and therefore turned off all of my apple accounts because it stopped payment on iCloud Storage. However, and there is a really big but. Screentime was too buggy on my daughter's iPad 3. It would regularly 'freeze' her iPad. Then Disorganise her apps from the folders she neatly put them in.
