✓ 멘탈 붕괴. 멘붕This app has a few issues. The latest is that the answer choices pop up before you can read the question. Also inability to go though word quiz continuously. Currently it stops every few questions and requires restarting. The font in some parts is so small one needs a magnifying glass to see the characters like in the typing window. I paid for a year but wish I hadn’t. This app is frustrating to use but the hangul is correct. They fixed a previous issue. If they can make all characters large enough to be easily seen and get the program glitches out I would give it a higher rating. If they can make use of word quiz continuous and fix the font size and fix the glitches I would give it five stars. I’m sure the developers are working hard on this. The developer replied to this review about six months later. Update Eggbun refused to extend my subscription to compensate for all of the usability problems I experienced with this app. I do not want to renew. I paid to be a human ginny pig. Don’t pay for a year until you try it for a while..Version: 4.1.7

✓ Help?I used to use this app a while ago and wanted to get back into using it, however I can’t even start to use it because I have an iPhone 11 and to write you have to swipe up - which closes the app.... once in a while it works but it’s rare. Hopefully the app gets updates and the issue gets fixed. Edit: they added a black bar where to tap in order to type back and it seems to be working well. ✓ Nice app but has major bugOkay I’m usually not the person to ever leave bad reviews, but here we go. First off I will say I LOVE the content of the app and how they go about teaching. The interactive “texting” is fun and it makes learning easier (for me at least). There’s one major issue with this though, like others have said if you buy the month pass it will NOT show up. I purchased mine almost 5 days ago and I emailed the company about it 4 days ago and still nothing has been done about it. I’m hoping that when ever this problem gets fixed they’ll at least add back in the days I’ve missed to my subscription, but with how they’ve handled things so far I’m not sure that will happen. ✓ Issues with microphoneI constantly have issues with mic not registering what I’m saying it or registering what I am saying when I haven’t even clicked the yellow mic. I find it much easier to learn if I can repeat the words to make sure I am saying them right but the mic sensitivity issue makes it so difficult and frustrating. As the words will not erase even when I erase them and click mic again all previous words deleted come back to text line. I got a three month subscription and will most likely not renew after it’s over due to that..Version: 4.4.8

✓ A mix of emotionsLanny is a fun and kind of interactive way to learn Korean, the chat provides light and friendly conversation. However there is a slight limit to what you can learn for free (but you still are able to get most of the basics) during tests words can be hard to memorise so if there was a feature that could repeat the word but in korean (so you could atleast improve your listening and try and spell it) that’d be more helpful instead of the bombardment of similar words.Version: 2.7.18

✓ Good idea but very buggyEvery time it asked me to install the Korean keyboard, there is a weird bug where a pop up is shown and nothing is in it. Hence I never succeeded in installing this keyboard, I’m not sure if you can just use a inbuilt iOS keyboard. Also when I turn my iPad the screen just got distorted, the UI got deformed.....Version: 4.1.4

✓ Won’t let me log in anymore!!!I used to really enjoy this app but I stopped using it for a while. Tried to log back in and it would let me, it just had the loading symbol forever. I tried to log in manually (through email instead of gmail) but then it said my password, which I know was right was wrong. After I reset my password it STILL wouldn’t load. Then I tried to make a new account and EVEN that didn’t work. I never give one star reviews especially since I used to enjoy this app so much but I’m really disappointed. ✓ It’s Great But....I already speak korean and I wanted to see if this app could be used to help some of my students. It seems like a good app but I have a few issues with it. First off there’s no free trial for the premium version. Second off in the Hangul Chapter 1 review there’s an issue with the audio where it makes the sound “ㄱ” But states the answer is “ㄷ”. However, as a student, I have very little money to spend, so my learning is very limited in this app. I would like to see an alternate option to access paid lessons other than upgrading to premium. ✓ The prices...This app is amazing! I love how it doesn’t just teach the language, but aspects of their culture and history. I also love how interactive it is, but there is one major flaw. The prices! I am one of the people who love apps where buying things isn’t necessary and it is easy to pay for if not able to be free. I saw the in-app purchases sign and looked what they were and I thought I could get by without them. As it turns out, i was terribly wrong. You need to buy the subscription to get a full learning experience, but as of right now my family is in a tight spot and can’t afford it. As of right now we are sheltered in place thanks to the pandemic known as covid-19 and I was looking for a way to spend my time learning. I know there are free alternatives out there, but those don’t help me as much as these do. It would be AMAZING if the purchase was something like you pay 20$ for all access and maybe the occasional ad. ✓ Great so far!!!!This is so far a really good way to learn Korean.... I love it so much my only problem is I don’t want to be waiting over 24 hours just to get an another lesson and I am only 15 there is no jobs hiring 15 year olds so I don’t have money to be able to buy the premium😢....(sadly) But I’m still able to learn without paying but I have to wait and it’s over 24 hours I go back to check if there is another lesson waiting for me but when I go to check it for some reason it keeps logging me out where I have to go sign back in and when I sign in with google r my email it says error and it also says sign in with Facebook.....I don’t have Facebook so that’s out of the question but it keeps logging me out and keeps saying error when I try logging back in.... it literally take about 20 minutes of trying to figure out what the heck is wrong but by the time I get into the app...finally... I think to myself that there should be a lesson open for me...nope....nothing....I wasted 20 minutes of my time thinking there was another lesson....it took 20 minutes of my time for nothing.... Then it happens all over again and just sometimes it has a lesson waiting for me.... ✓ Fun supplementary appI’ve found that Egg-bun makes a good supplement to other Korean language-learning apps, but it has two main limitations at the moment: 1. There’s no global review mechanism; you have to go in and repeat each lesson manually if you want to review the content. 2. There isn’t a coherent overall structure or curriculum to the content. It’s a collection of lessons on various topics that don’t really build on one another. It’s like you’re learning from a phrase book rather than a textbook. As an aside, some of the English translations are very sketchy and need to be checked by a native English speaker. I hope the devs can evolve it over time to address these issues. ✓ Worst Customer ServiceWorst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve contacted them about 5 times now and still have not gotten a reply. ✓ It was good app but very inflexible and limited. Premium content not worth the moneyI wrote to Eggbun about not getting any new lessons for premium subscription. So far i was told that they were too busy to do so. I really thought I would get a new lesson (even if it’s a short one) every week. That’s why I went ahead and did an annual subscription. It was a mistake. Now I just canceled the subscription. Can I get a pro-rated refund? Some lessons are good. But it’s all about memorization. It doesn’t explain any grammar. I also don’t understand why some lessons can have a 600% progress. What also upsets me was that recently they are doing a promotion of giving out a free ebook of the lessons if you sign up for the premium. I signed up about two weeks prior to promotion and got nothing. Remind you that I got the annual not a monthly one. Anyway, I’ll rather stick with Duolingo as it’s free. And just like eggbun, it doesn’t roll out new lessons. So why would anyone want to pay for it? I don’t care about cultural notes and word race. ✓ Customer Service lackingI only signed up for premium because of an ad promising a refund if not satisfied during a sale. I quickly discovered that app doesn’t really offer me anything I’m not already getting elsewhere. If I cancel through apple I won’t get the refund. ✓ Pay To LearnI enjoy the UI, and needing to type to pass lessons helps improve language skills, however, the time gate frequently bugs out, and makes progress frustrating.
