✓ No Organization by Purchase Date?Is that done like that so you're constantly looking for packs you just bought? Some kinda money scheme? All the money you spend on packs you should be able to organize via purchase date like Launchpad.Version: 13.14.3
✓ SEI had to write a review because I’m sick and tired of this cool app not having any options to back up your projects. This is just too bad. I’ve lost my iPhones twice and all my projects gone! Was this an agreement between you and Apple not to put any option to backup projects I just don’t understand how a great app like this does not have an option to backup projects it’s so sickening and frustrating!!.Version: 13.18
✓ Lacks fundamental features. Avoid this!Update 1 I gave it another try and really there isn't much to do with this app. Still bad... If that's a cue for what is coming with their launchpad app where we could manipulate each sample in the clips as easily as in this app with fast time stretch and tonality (each clip it's own tonality), then I am very exited for what is to come with launchpad but in the mean time this is still: Incomplete Boring Sounds not impressive Thank for taking the time to read. I don't get it... It looks like a prototype but at 7$, I hate to be a paying tester. So basically, you play samples that you cannot modify except for start/end positions. It will play over and over unless you mute. No other control over your "tracks". It's a shame to call it tracks really... No way to record performance. No effects Tonality control is a joke. If this is meant to only be played live, then it needs a much better workflow. These are only a few of the complaints I have but I have wasted enough time with this app already. Will come back to it if they release major update. Too bad. I bought this because I love the Launchpad app from the same company. I tough I would have a sampling app that work in team with Launchpad. Not giving 1 star because the product, at least, is not defective. I don't usually review apps badly but since there are no reviews yet, this is my contribution to help ppl make a more enlightened choice. AVOID THIS ONE! At least until they add features to it. ✓ Link not workingTrying to get Ableton Link working, but despite spending an hour rebooting, reloading, changing settings etc. still not working and doesn’t pick up linked apps, and sometimes even manually clicking the play button in the app fails to work. AUM + Air 4..Version: 13.16.2

✓ Great app, pity that older IOS versions, lose access to IAP storeEdit: Thank you for reaching out. I now understand as to why technically a user running IOS 10 no longer has access to the Blocs Wave IAP store. Basically all IOS below 12 are blocked from IAP store due to a security risk? I wish there was a work around. From a users perspective it does make me wonder if I should keep investing in IAPs if at some point when IOS 15 or whatever is out, IOS 12 users will suffer some similar fate if they chose not to upgrade to latest IOS. Apple often breaks things with latest releases and stability on our music devices is something we very much appreciate, so Im a late update adopter, if you will. Hope I never have to reinstall the app as Ill never get my IAPs back (on IOS 10) Keep up the great work!.Version: 13.11

✓ Very poor audio qualityIt's a shame, because this app is really cool. I love the layout, usability and speed. It's a seriously fun app. However, it is made completely redundant by the terrible, low quality of the audio samples. Presumably to make them quick to download. Knowing I could export as a .wav, I excitedly purchased several different packs which sounded fine when reviewed via earbuds. But if you export a mix and play it back on even rudamenrary speakers, you can hear how muddy and compressed the audio is. I am NOT an audio professional (which is why I like this app) and to my ears it just sounds terrible, rendering it as a fun toy to tinker with, not a music making tool. Bummer. If I was able to get good quality samples, I'd probably buy all the packs as I need to make music quickly for videos and spit them out..Version: 13.4.5
✓ Afraid to updateI use launchpad and blocs as a central part of my studio. When they work they are amazing apps, but the updates seem to be about selling you features that are not required. All you need on launchpad and blocs is the import feature and that's it. The an update to launchpad in Dec stoped the import feature for a week. Week of productivity lost, for what reason, so you can make it look funky. Have you seen a real launchpad it's not funky, but it works. Your iOS app is meant to replicate this device, so why make it look different and kill productivity for a week because you introduced a bug. If your app was 100% free it be ok, but as you require buying import feature, unstable updates offering features not required is not acceptable. Now the latest update to blocs offering me an EQ, this is not required, will this update stop launchpad from working? Not worth the risk of updates. Please only update security issues, not just features created for profit and unwanted visual tweaks making the VR products more removed from there origins..Version: 13.0.1
✓ Missed Opportunity!It would be really great if I could set and move my own slices, instead of having a lame, static grid that I can only slide left/right. Or, even an option to automatically detect the transients of the sample. Then, I could play all the transients, instead of a random selection. It would also be amazing to have Blocs Wave as an AUv3 that I could use within AUM or a DAW. Basically, turn this into Serato Sample for iOS. I would pay lots of £s for the app I described above. ✓ Is that it?Hmm. Yeah, what's there is good. It works well, and the design/UI is good. But, is that it? No effects, no filter, not much to jam with is there? It's basically a looper, and there's nothing wrong with that, but that's all it really is. A big thing is made of that extra loops you can buy, but I make my own loops, so that's kinda pointless. BIG kudos for including audio: copy/paste though (now please also add that to Launchpad for iPhone). But it needs a lot more, a lot more. The ability to manipulate the audio files is good, but unless that can be automated, then it's very limited. Basically this is a promising start, but please can you finish it! :) Thanks..Version: 1.0
✓ Lacks basic features even w/ Pro subEvery single pack is $1.99. There’s no bundling or one-time purchase for all packs, and you don’t get any w/ purchase of Pro subscription. You also can’t demo them other than listening to some short pre-made clips. You likely will need multiple packs to create anything worthwhile, and at $2 per pack, the price adds up quickly. Aside from that, it’s laughable that the dev expects people to upgrade to pro when there’s not even a metronome in the app period..Version: 13.16.2

✓ App needs major overhaul and Effects featuresAfter numerous emails and discussions with staff about how although App is brilliant and easy to use in creating songs than the other 2 Apps , Launchpad and Groovebox, it would get 5 stars but lack of effects it only gets 1 star . For creative people that is a major let down and if any App deserves effects like the previous mentioned Apps have , this App should least have that quality effects if not better and the lack of updates , changes is just not right. Mind you a Desktop version would help also and perhaps adding all effects would make this App the best one of the bunch if not in the App Store to create music. And to not have recording in the this App only microphone is just lazy and should be corrected as soon as possible . Also after a few issues I have asked to be sorted out , there is another in when import one of my songs, seems that when imported to Launchpad , a percussion sound is not playing in corr3ct timing as in Blockwave, regardless if erase or import again or shut down apps and start again, issue not resolved. Please, Please! Fix this and give Blockwave the eff3cts and recording this App deserves and needs to be the best App to be creative beast it should be on here and perhaps even give it a Desktop version ..Version: 13.4.8

✓ Used to be my favoriteThis was my favorite app. In fact I was using it almost exclusively for my music production and had left several favorable reviews. But it no longer works on my iPad Air (first generation). When I tap a screen element (or other gesture) there is a considerable delay before the app responds. This has been going on more than a year now and I finally gave up trying a few months ago. It’s just been unusable. Now I never use my iPad since I lost interest and do all my music on the Mac again in Ableton Live and Reason..Version: 13.14.5
✓ Sample pack organizationSo blocks wave is a cool app. I will text it apart from other apps of its type is the ability to use the apps in performance directly into Launchpad. The next feature developers need to make serious considerations about implementing is organization of the sample packs. When you purchase a new pack, it just gets folded into all of your other 100 packs, and unless you’ve written the name down or taken a screenshot of it, you don’t know which packs are newest vs the others you already have. Packs should be able to be sorted by newest to oldest..Version: 13.18

✓ Let’s see about this...Been on a Novation App review tangent tonight...mostly gripes but those are concern about the products out of love for the Company and its products across the board. This app needs a zero count-in to recording. I may not want to wait for a 1 measure count-in to go on. I may want to just hit the record button and, wha-la, the recording begins. Also, when transferring/exporting content into Launchpad...it apparently creates a new Launchpad project in doing so. I can’t just get the content into the project I am currently working on. I have to first get it into another app first and then from there get it to where I want it in my Launchpad project..Version: 13.0.1

✓ Warning if you lose your divide you lose your workI love Blocs Wave; it's such a fun way to make beats. In fact, I've made 180 beats in the past three years! When my iPad's battery became weak, I bought a new one and backed up my old device. All my apps transferred over fine, except for Blocs Wave. After spending 100 hours and exchanging numerous emails with support, the guy at Amplify was very helpful, but the issue was out of his control. The map between BW and LP doesn’t restore, so whenever I tried to open a BW project, I got an error message saying that some project files could not open because the launchpad packs weren't installed . However, they were all restored. But bloc wave cannot see them. After a week of back and forth, 20 emails, 10 failed solutions and at least 3 restores from scatch (even using other apps like imazing), I never got them to open. The final advice given was to manually export my favourite projects from Blocs Wave on my old iPad. But I have 180 files, and if I continue making beats, I'll have 360 in three years' time. This means I'd have to manually export twice as many again. The convenience of using BW is lost in the file management, so I'm moving to Beat Maker. It requires more work, (and i think better more unique results) but most of all it looks like I can switch devices with it, unlike Blocs Wave. Had I known that, I would have exported project files as I went. But it's just not clear that you'll end up trapped on your old device or face a week of moving files. The biggest risk though is if I lost or water damaged my ipad. I thought i was covered but i’m not. My only accessible copy of my music projects is hard set on the device i have. Even if the battery fails i could lose it all. That is just not a risk I want to take. Be warned..Version: 13.17.1
✓ Great ideaSeriously, why is there no search function? Why can’t I sort by key, or tempo? Why can’t I save to favorites? great to quickly get ideas out. Great to make Launchpad performance tracks. Some glaring gaps. You cant save your favorite loops and sounds. You have to go through a painstaking search each time for your favorite sound. You can’t star your favorite sounds for easily retreival. AI engine that selects samples for you does not do a good job of combing your entire library. It seems to repeat the same loops providing only 4-5 suggestions. The app allows for 6 tracks which is plenty to build a great set. However, you can’t re-arrange the tiles i.e move the melody next to the drums or the base next to percussion. This is extremely annoying. Otherwise, the concept is great. I wish they’d get some real product management going on..Version: 13.17.1

✓ Love your apps like launchpadI have been playing around with this one too and I actually subscribed to launchpad. I would have happily subscribed to this one if you didn’t require us to pay for each sound pack separately. That was kind of the dealbreaker for me. I’d like to be able to try out sounds without having to pay for them first like launch pad allows us to do. I’m not sure why you didn’t include a a price for everything as one like in your other app but please let me know if you ever do and I will be there. ✓ Quite worryingI have had this app on my IPad Pro for some time. I am quite alarmed about how much of the battery this uses even when the app is not launched. My iPad was lasting less than 24 hours on a full charge. I checked the battery app and it said blocks had used 98% battery life in the last 24 hrs. I genuinely can’t figure out why an app would use this amount of battery when not active. (Even with all apps closed)..Version: 13.8.1
✓ Even more DisappointedI really want to use blocks as a progression from launchpad the new feature of exporting projects into launchpad is welcome....BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! Launchpad crashes when you try and open blocks project from within Launchpad but I still don't understand why developers can't understand my gripe. Why can't I play a sample by pressing on it and then press again to stop it. WHY? This issue persists when auditioning samples within a the oval sample containing blocks. Developers please understand the lack of this feature is what makes blocks unintuitive. It appears an easy fix; please allow the pressing of samples to initiate play and stop. I Prefer the timbral sound of blocks to launchpad and I would like to use it but when I try and set up a groove when I'm initially trying find the groove from samples I have selected (the most important organic part of song creation) please fix this. Personally I don't think developers can say they have given blocks a chance. Please enable stop/play on samples and release the potential in blocks.Version: 13.4.1

✓ Can't listen to more than one sample!This app is appalling for any music producer, song writer, or composer. You can't listen to more than any one sample to be able to compose tracks! Don't even bother downloading it. Complete waste of time. I'm going to delete it from my device. Very poor indeed. Also keeps crashing whenever I try to export any project files!!!! Really bloody useless! Can't export any project files via email, or iCloud drive! There is no point to this app at all!!!! ✓ No explanation of new featuresThese novation apps are pretty lame. All stock loops, no editing. They add new features and never explain how to use them. For example, they released this new feature to use packs from launchpad, but then dont show or tell you how to use the feature. The video they put up is the stupidest attempt at a "tutorial" i have ever watched! If you wanna download an app that will just sit there and not inspire you, like they claim it will, then this is just the app. Otherwise, keep walking. There are so many better apps with a plethora of better editing and sound manipulating facilities. This piece of garbage doesnt even offer effects..Version: 11.0
