Learn Arabic: Language Course for Negative User Reviews
✓ Cheeky charges upfront, no methodologyI’m upset because Mondly charged me full month’s fee during the setup. I thought it only subscribed me for 7 day trial and THEN be charged on 7th day, but no, it charged right upon first screens and what’s worse, “rubbed it in” with emails and screens about 7 day trial. Course itself is run-of-the-mill set of recordings and text. The pedagogical methods are based upon only hope that student will remember what was shown. Allegedly, “Principle of Anticipation” method. There’s no spaced repetition method (Anki), nor organic building up (Pimsleur), nor linguistical explanations (Michel Thomas). Basically it’s a methodological cripple of a course. If you are going to spend £96 a year on this, better get real, scientifically more-proven course, not this..Version: 6.2.1
✓ Refund for yearly subcriptionI request a refund for my subscription.Version: 7.1.13
✓ Probably a specific dialectNot sure what’s goin on with the words and pronunciation. I’ve taken some Arabic classes and my girlfriend speaks Arabic. It’s not teaching the Modern Standard Arabic and seems to be a specific dialect most likely and is not very useful.Version: 7.1.13
✓ Nice App but need more developmentThe appearance and the motion graphics seems to be nice and attractive. but the content accuracy, dictation and learning experience design need more work of developing for Arabic course. As an Arabic native speaker I had a look on the app-the trial- because my girlfriend(native German) asked me to review it since she's started to learn Arabic and found this app and wants to know what I think about it. In comparison for Mondly to other online language tutor apps, this edition for learning Arabic seems to be a beta edition of the app which can be developed further by making it less complex especially when explaining the Arabic pronoun by showing all of them instead of showing only the related one on any giving phrase. Dictation and spelling mistakes are there, which need to be reviewed by a professional Arabic linguist. Also the voices for the spoken words are fine but most of words sound cut at the end so the voice is not relaxed which might make a learner miss some spoken letters at the end of some words. Thanks for the developers and keep up the great work..Version: 5.6
✓ DeletingConsidering how useless the main "Mondly" app is, I'm unwilling to enter my cc information prior to learning without any confirmation that it is useful.. Even if I can "cancel at anytime".Version: 4.5.2
✓ Subscription conAs previous people have mentioned they make it like you are signing up to a free 7 day trial but instead they take £9.99 off straight away..Version: 6.2.1
✓ Mismatch and unreliableSounds may not match answers and/or text. Same issues with other languages on the app..Version: 7.1.13
✓ It’s not goodIt’s not too good because mostly everything takes money.Version: 7.1.13
✓ Rubbish appArabic pronunciation for words is a disaster, don’t even think about getting this app if you want to learn correct Arabic the right way. Words, meanings and it’s pronunciation has been copied from google translation. I am an Arabic language teacher and I was thinking of recommending this app to my students. No way. Period..Version: 7.1.13
✓ Make sure you press the right button for the free trialWould give this 0-1/2 star if I could. The activate button for the free trial did not give me the free trial but subscribed me to the monthly subscription. Be careful if you wish to try before you buy..Version: 6.2.1
