✓ Rules seem to be offI've played BG for years on my phone, but this version seems to be different. When moving chips off board, it forces you to take the lower number first. Example, if you roll 6 & 1, but no chip on the 6 spot, but a chip on the 5 & 1 spot, you can't move the 5 off the board, it wants to move the 5 to the 4 spot, unless you use the 1 dice to move off the chip on the 1 spot. Also, if you roll a pair of 5's & are in the move chips off the board phase, with no chips on the 5 spot, it will let you move a chip on the 6 spot off the board, when it should just move the 6 chip to the 1 space. Also, when trying to move a chip to a spot on the board shown as an option i.e. It shows as a possible move, you must try several times to move it. As others have said, the computer is very predictable in its moves. Always moves chip from farthest spot first, unless it has opportunity to hit 1 of your chips. I like the music but wish you could play a full game instead of just 1 round. The game should continue until you or computer reaches 5 or higher points first..Version: 1.1
✓ Wrong and wrongWhen bearing off, it forces moves that are not forced - if you have men on the 5 and 2 points and roll 6 3, you should be able to use the 6 to bear off from 5 and the 3 to bear off from 2; instead, it forces you to use the 3 to move from 5 to 2 and then the 6 to bear off from 2. Also, if you double and then win with a gammon, you should get 4 points. It only gives error you 2. Finally, it colors the pips wrong. An even number should move you to the same color, but adjacent pips on opposite sides of the bar are colored the same. That gets confusing. I don’t care for the user interface either, but that’s just personal preference..Version: 1.2

✓ GarbageI rarely review apps. This one warrants it. Every time I open it the background music setting has reverted to ON. Every. Time. Even if I’m mid-game and go away for a second. Also the game action is iffy. Sometimes need multiple tries to get pieces to move. And the moving action is SLOW as molasses. I’m getting a different app right now and deleting this one.Version: 1.2
✓ Pretty poor gameThis game is ok to look at...with one exception I will come to in a moment. The main flaw in it is that even on the 'hard' setting, the computer player is completely stupid. I have just played my second game, which lasted about 40 minutes because it kept doing things like taking my pieces from its home board, leaving six singletons. By the finish, I had fourteen pieces on my 1 point and spent AGES trying to move the fifteenth one in. Of course, the computer kept taking that piece and we ended up in stalemate. It didn't help that the dice kept rolling double one for me. About nine times. The other really annoying thing is that unlike any backgammon board I have ever seen, the points either side of the bar are the same colour! So whereas on a standard board, an even roll moves a piece between points of the same colour, this is SOMETIMES true and SOMETIMES not with this game. It's infuriating! Maybe to get a standard board you have to upgrade to the paid version? Whatever. Two games were two too many for me. It's gone..Version: 1.1
✓ Rubbish! NO STARS but not possibleThis app doesn’t even know how to score backgammon or understand the concept of the doubling facility when it comes to the score. And I don’t seem to be able to move beyond the first game. Don’t they know it’s the first to reach 15 games who wins? Also extremely slow and unresponsive. Whoever is giving this app four stars? They can’t be backgammon players that’s for sure. I had an excellent app which was brilliant but sadly when I updated iOS it was no longer compatible. Have tried two backgammon apps and both useless. Apple, why do you sully your good name with completely useless apps like these. Can anyone out there recommend a backgammon game that actually works?.Version: 1.2
✓ Rigged AIThe developer doesn’t understand how to use the AI to make the game fun for everyone. It’s confusing AI with knowledge of the opponent dice! Meaning the computer knows what your next numbers will be. In fact it knows your numbers right from the start of the game! I’ve emailed them numerous times but their support team is just like their AI confused 😂😂😂.Version: 1.2

✓ RiggedThe AI very clearly baits you into using bonus roles that will 90+% of the time fail. Rolling unrealistic combinations several times in a row. This is very apparent in tournament and showdown modes where your chances of a bad beat increase the lower your bonus dice inventory gets. I always shoot my lowest scores when I have just a couple of dice remaining..Version: 1.2
✓ IRRITATINGI’ve been playing this for over a year now and loved it compared to versions on other apps. Now I’m starting to hate it. As other reviewers have stated it seems the opponent’s throw is pretty much bang on score each time, no matter what you do. I’ve been way ahead many times, sometimes with half the pieces cleared, but I still lose as it throws exactly the right combination to have no alternative moves other than to leave a counter exposed. Then the opponent just happens to get exactly the right combination to take control of the remainder of the game and proceed to win. I often shout out exactly what the opponent will throw before the dice have even spun! “They’ll throw a 5! Oh they did, what a surprise!”. “They need a 3, oh look at that, a 3!” I’d understand if it was occasional and I get that it’s luck and probability, but come on, it’s too often!!! It completely ruins the enjoyment of the game..Version: 1.2
✓ SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!Not only are the positive reviews here just fake, the dice are fixed and the non stop bombardment of adverts ruin the game! So many adverts that these people should never see a penny from the players (unless the players are that daft?) They try to trick you to buy coins.. force you to watch 30 second adverts in the middle of a game (whilst your timer ticks away) and if you are foolish enough to give them your Facebook details, they constantly try to post there too. Absolute nightmare best avoided in my opinion..Version: 1.2

✓ Come on already!I’ve been on the hunt to find a solid backgammon game that helps me better my game. It seemed to be promising but it all fell apart when I upped the difficulty scale to “hard”. The only change I noticed was that it took a lot longer for the game to make its move. Especially when it rolled a pair. By the time the 4th move is made its a solid 20sec later. Really? Fail. I do have to give it kudos for not rolling back to back pairs like other games did when upping the difficulty. Still leaves a lot to be desired. ✓ RagdollPlayed your game for the first time about 30 minutes. Did not like because you had to touch your man 3-4 times to get them to light up and took forever to move the men where I wanted them to go. It's like there was no connection to the laser light that showed you where you could move. Too taxing and very frustrating to say the least. ✓ Rigged!The dice are rigged which completely removes any enjoyment. You can pretty much predict the oppositions dice result if you leave yourself exposed with just one counter. Of course, there are times when you are programmed to win and you get the perfect dice too but it’s not enjoyable this way. Since my score has increased I see that I am being paired against opponents with higher scores themselves. Their game style is completely different, their moves often non-sensical, leaving themselves exposed yet if it’s “their turn” to win they will still win even with their erratic play. This non-sensical play style though, which I have noticed with numerous numerous players in this new scoring band, even makes me wonder whether opponents are indeed genuine players and makes me feel I’m playing against a computer the whole time. This is the cherry on the cake for me. I’m off!.Version: 1.2

However, when you have all of the chips "home" and you role doubles, it sometimes gets locked and you have to move more chips off the board than you should. For example, you roll double 3's but have no chips on three, so you move your chips from four, it allows you to move maybe 8 chips off the board. I also dislike the ads that pop up..Version: 1.1

✓ Good game for a couple of days, but...It's super nice to get to grips with the game if you are complete novice like I am, but after a couple days of playing to and from work, I went from playing with the computer on easy to hard. Long story short, the computer is a rubbish player since this step up in difficulty didn't make the game any more challenging, just longer because it takes longer to decide where it's going to move. I'm no rain man or anything but I would have expected the computer on hard to actually beat me occasionally. The only added challenge is that dice rolls favour the computer a little more often. I guess at this stage the only positive is that if you're low on self esteem this game will make you feel like a backgammon grand master!.Version: 1.1
✓ Game is compromisedI just played someone, when I got ahead of my opponent as we are rolling our pieces back into the tray, the screen came up stating connection problem with my opponent. The that went away and my opponent rolled double fours. My opponent only moved two pieces in on a double roll. Then the next three rolls, my opponent roll three doubles to win. Rigged!.Version: 1.2

✓ Just don’t 👎 rigs your moves ☹️Seriously I read all the reviews, obviously the dice throws are rigged, most games try to draw you to spend money... My issue is that it occasionally moves FOR you, ie, I just rolled a 6 and a 4, it moved off a 6 and a 4 leaving my 6 exposed when I could have moved it forward instead. ✓ No Strategy = No FunPlaying against the computer, even in “hard” mode, the computer uses no proper backgammon strategy at all, meaning if you know anything about Backgammon, you can always win. The computer never protects open pieces or build up its home and always goes for picking up your open piece even if it’s a bad play. The few times the computer even had the chance to take pieces off the board at the end of the game, it always makes terrible choices, like moving pieces forward even when other pieces could have been moved off. It’s no challenge and not fun after the initial thrill of humiliating your computer opponent once or twice..Version: 1.2

At the end of the game, if the losing player has borne off at least one checker, he loses only the value showing on the doubling cube (one point, if there have been no doubles). Or, worse, if the loser has not borne off any of his checkers and still has a checker on the bar or in the winner's home board, he is backgammoned and loses three times the value of the doubling cube. ✓ RiggedThis will be deleted fastPlayed 200 games kept track in 127 I was knocked off on my first roll it then took an average of 7 rolls to get on and or stay on. Lost them all. In the other 73 I was asked to double within their first three rolls of the ones I accepted I lost them all. That gave me ZERO wins in the 200 games. They roll doubles 6 to my 1..Version: 1.2

✓ Customs rating systemWhere the app previously ranked players after a system that gave different points to how good players you played against, then it has now changed to a system that only ranks how much time you are willing to spend on the app. If you win more than you lose, you increase in rating regardless of quality otherwise. Bonus is also silly if you actually have to rate where good players are! The app is otherwise simple and well-functioning, and online games work well. Control away games against the machine. Also, it seems to get confused with the doubles when I am moving pieces off and the CPU has pieces in the back. I can get 6 or 8 moves out of the same double..Version: 1.1
