✓ Cute app...butThis app is cute and my son really enjoys playing it. However, the game gets stuck quite a bit in the turn table area and then you can’t do anything. You have to shut down the app completely and then start all over again, which is very frustrating. It seemed to start happening after we bought all of the trains. Overall the game is cute and I would love to give it more stars, but this glitch happens too often..Version: 1.4

✓ Suspicious practicesI am highly suspicious of this app. After my son enjoyed it for a little bit it suddenly started spamming for purchases. That was expected but “wasn’t” expected was how the app responded. It “instantly” tried to trick me into processing a payment just for tapping on any entry. Had I not been using an old iPad mini that still requires me to type in my password much less had been supervising my child this thing would have gone ahead and charged my card without me knowing it! I quickly hit cancel when the iTunes Store asked for my account password and the app was “kind” enough to pop up with a message saying “sometimes processing payment may take a little time”..geez thanks! We had considered making a small purchase to remove ads but after reading reviews from other parents who thought the same thing it appears that doesn’t work. I’m already looking into how to report this app to Apple since last I heard some of these business practices went against some of the App Store polices. At this point it appears even if I had agreed to purchase something from them they would have went ahead and spammed my kid with another app asking for more money..Version: 1.5

I also would love it if the choices were not discussed by a commentator; it stops the progress of the game even if it is only for the duration of asking the direction forward, left or right. I think it would be more fun if the forward lever could also steer the train. Also forward motion should be fully controlled by the person playing the game ( or maybe have levels that can be adjusted in settings). ✓ No way to remove obnoxious adsI downloaded this app years ago, and initially made in-app purchases to remove ads. This worked well for years. But the app has now been updated so that it is impossible to remove any ads. Despite the fact that I had paid to remove ads, they are now here forever. My kid is disabled, and can’t navigate through the ad screens independently. So this app is now completely useless to him and to me. It’s really too bad, because he used to enjoy it and asks for it often — but doesn’t recognize the current version as the same thing..Version: 2023.1.1

The problem is the packs regularly disappear and what we previously paid for asks for money again. The game constantly holds your hand and forces you to stop and play the same simple mini games over and over again, setting the pace to a screeching halt. Furthermore, the set can be difficult to navigate without the aid of a map to show you where certain locations are. But the worst offense in this game is how it forces you to pay real money for all the other engines after you collect everything for Thomas’ set! I can understand if you had to pay for special/fan-favorite engines like Ryan, Ashima, or Diesel 10; but having to pay for all of them is ridiculous! As a Thomas fan, I did enjoy the references to certain songs and little locations, but I’m also disgusted with how the developers made this game with the idea that kids will buy anything. We have had the app for a long time and had unlocked many of the surprises. Recently, I was showing my younger child how to play and realized that everything is locked down now and you’re only allowed to open so many surprises. You download the free version, which is roughly 5% of the final product, and will be hounded with ads to purchase the full version. Well I did that, because my son really enjoys this app. And guess what? Every 5-10 minutes, he brings his tablet to me because an ad for another Budge Studios app has stopped him from playing (where you have to tap on a tiny red X in the top right of the screen to close it). I paid for this... STOP WITH THE ADS!!! Let’s also not forget to mention that we encounter bugs every so often that make it where the throttle doesn’t work, and you have to close the app and restart. The screen has also locked up a few times. It would be a good app if the devs would fix the bugs and stop trying to squeeze more money out of those that have already bought their content. ✓ Good Game for Kids, but DisappointingDownloaded this for my son who loves Thomas. Started playing this with him and he worked his way through the challenges and was enjoying himself. He completed the challenges within 45 minutes but I was expecting the game to unlock levels so that he could continue playing. Unfortunately, this is not the case. At the end of the level it went to the store to get me (the parent) to purchase the next pack or pay a reduced rate to unlock the whole lot. It was a bit misleading. ✓ Glitches and bugsWhen I bought this game for my 5 year old son back in 2021, he played the game a lot of the time but then started playing the game for merely a minute before converting to ThomasMinis. So when he found out about the new All Engines Go update he got really excited but when he entered the game, the first thing he saw was a black Thomas in the sheds with Percy, Diesel, Kana and Nia and his eyes were home and away with an upside down mouth. After that the game was fine…for about 10 seconds before a creepy looking picture of Spencer popped up on the screen. He started crying and dropped the IPad before running into his room with all the lights on upstairs. I played the game to see what had made him cry and I found out that when James - his favourite engine - reached the haunted mansion, the game glitched and James went under the map and the camera went crazy. I figured this was piracy because the James was very distorted and it said there was an “error, please report this copied game”. I was very mad at the game for making my son freak out but afterwards it stopped and went back to normal except with creepy music but it soon worked itself out. After, there were thousands of glitches in the game most of which lasted for around 3 seconds until now when here stopped playing fully which was when I deleted the app. Definitely would not recommend this to anyone under at least 7..Version: 2022.1.0

✓ When an update is not an update...I updated the application with the August update for my 5year old. Since I don't play the game, I did not look at the update. I should have. First thing I heard.."oh no what happened to my Magic Tracks, it looks awful. Thomas looks like play doh and the haunted castle is in daylight, it is supposed to be in nighttime, mommy did you update my app?" The graphics is a mess. The trains are washed out and lack detail, and the board, which was completed with purchase, is missing most of the buildings as you drive around. ✓ Why did they change the game?The old version of this app was my 3-4 year old son’s favorite game until they completely overhauled the game to match All Engines Go. Why not just release a new game and leave the old one alone? My son was in tears when he found out he could no longer play the old version. We spent money on unlocking content from that old version and now most of the characters he loved are gone. ✓ Why Use the Reboot?My son used to love this game before the reboot. The only gripe I had was the bungie ad on the upper right even though I bought the bundle. But regardless he still played. After the reboot update my son never plays it. Feels like a waste of money. At least give us the option to revert back to the old version and the option to turn off the bungie ad. ✓ £18 for a game that keeps crashing & doesn’t give you everythingAfter paying £18 nearly to unlock I found that it has glitches were the “gifts” don’t work you can run your train right though some and they stay don’t open and several times it’s crashed completely as in he can’t interact with the mini games… this is the most I’ve ever spent on a game most that have MORE and don’t glitch or crash are around £5-£10 Wouldn’t recommend this this game it’s a rip off! Update despite the crashes he has completed and even though we paid to unlock everything and the game has stopped giving him stuff there are areas were there is stuff he hasn’t gotten! Adverts with tiny “x” that after a while only fades after 10 seconds, if they manage to press the x it leads to another advert. Cynical, and counterproductive.
