✓ No matter how much you spend…I played this game for 3 years+ and spent countless hours and thousands of dollars along the way. This game is meant to keep the super big spenders happy by giving them new things to spend money on. The result in terms of game play is that the mid tier players fall further behind the top tier. Eventually most get bored and quit and most servers end up with a handful of players out of the thousands there originally. There are people who play this game simply for the social aspect of it as well, which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for. ✓ Extremely poor customer supportThe game play is pretty much the same as other strategy games such as Game of War... and in the same way as these other games there comes a time when only the big spenders can play effectively. But the first phases are fun. What was surprising was the dire customer support. Issues... and there were many... took days or weeks to resolve... with little or no communication. And worse still... the support team threatened to ban players when they continued to ask for issues to be resolved in a timely manner. But there are a few problems 1 you can't ignore individuals in world chat, so you can end up having to put up with somebody's spam. 2 it it heavily pay to win and does become necessary to spend increasing amounts of money to progress and compete. 3 the weekly events add to the problem as the pay to winners obviously win and they then get more rewards and the gap widens even more. 4 due to this people leave and the pay to winners get less targets and everyone ends up suffering Update Devs fail to deliver on promised features and any questions or criticisms either get ignored or you end up prevented from posting on their Facebook page. ✓ What is happening?A previous Reviewer says that the tutorial is a bit long but I think it’s non-existent. Maybe I missed something but I don’t feel as if I have been ‘tutored’ at all - a little hand pops up and points at something and doesn’t go away until you’ve pressed it but there’s no explanation as to why you are pressing it, what would happen if you didn’t press it or what your options could be. The little hand then moves on to something else and so it goes on. At one point I was told that ‘training thugs’ takes a long time but you can speed this up by paying and I wasn’t allowed to go any further until I’d paid - which I would never do in a game, but I wasn’t given that option. You are not told what the object of the game is or if you need to progress to certain levels. A flash came up saying that another family was inviting me to join them but there was no explanation as to what that was, what I could do about it or, indeed, anything as it was ignored completely. So now, having reached the end of the so-called ‘tutorial’ although, to be fair, I was never told it was a ‘tutorial’, I am now no wiser but am expected to ‘play’ the game...............what game?? The writing is very small when you’re playing on a ‘phone but I have given it two stars because the graphics are good and the layout and I love Marlon Brando but that’s all. ✓ Money GrabbersThis game is designed to get you to spend money to progress. Prime example is the puzzle event where a number 9 piece is only available via family tech donation. Other pieces are around 20/1. This piece is between 75/1 and higher. This usually means that out of a family only 10% usually complete all three, a majority getting two puzzles. Sounds ok but that sublime message is buy a pack. That with all the donations made and gold spent (possibly) mean your actual price paid is vastly exaggerated. The useless items ratio is also climbing. Items which are used minimally during gameplay or exchanged by developers after event end are trending to useless. The gambling sections in this game are backward too. Spin the wheel sees 80%, this isn't that amount off but what you pay. Like wise in betting events during server championship you can lose money betting even though you win. ✓ Game won’t workI had to get a new phone a few days ago and now the game doesn’t work for me. I’ve been playing for several months now and really love the game. I have the same phone as before just a newer one. I have the iPhone 6s Plus. At first my issue was that I couldn’t move my map around. When I go to donate I can’t scroll down the list to get what I need to. And then when I go to clear the app and get back on I just get a black screen and after several minutes nothing happens. When I uninstall the app and reinstall the app I can get back into my game but then I still can’t use my map correctly or anything else. I’m back at square 1. What is not acceptable is telling “customer service” a problem or identifying that people are cheating by using outside programs and you are ignored. They’ll have you lose everything due to bugs in the game that email support state are there but then the devs will refuse to help you stating the bug didn’t happen. Secondly, the developers release events at 00:01 which catch people out like it just has with myself. If I knew there was going to be a kill event then I’d have put a shield up for 24 Hours since they are hella expensive, but no, they don’t show any sign until it starts and people get wiped out by allies who are allies until a kill event starts. The developers have basically set the game up to where it takes a very, very, very long time to gather resources, and grow your boss / Mansion level to level 33 (the highest level available right now)... BUT.... if you have money, and I mean serious F.U. money, you can easily and quickly spend your way to a big mansion. The problem that this creates for people like me, is that the ones who spend the most money can pretty much make the rules for the server that their large mansion is on, so if you get someone with a Napoleon complex and a big bank account, they can pretty much make or break a person’s experience playing this game. I’ve seen people who were great players spend more time than I have building an account with little to no spending... only to finally have enough of their game being ruined by the “Ruling Class”. Make the game take a long time to develop, I’m all for it. Even offer packages for purchase that people can use to make their mansions unique, like many great console games do... but don’t simply enable the gameplay experience to be dictated by individuals who have no involvement with actual game development..Version: 1.480

Great concepts but you will not be able to participate in the best events and will fall quickly behind if you aren’t spending money and lots of it. Developers will create issues to try to get you to spend money. And if you aren’t someone who is spending don’t even bother contacting them with issues. They will tell you they “can’t find it.” If you plan on spending money good chance you will give this game 5 stars because you will be able to enjoy everything involved in the game.Version: 1.550
✓ So far so good...I'm not a huge fan of this gameplay style. I downloaded it mostly for the theme; The Godfather. A lot of clicking and waiting. Can't really understand why these games are so popular. I'm enjoying the theme more than anything, but cannot see myself playing this long term..Version: 1.102
