Tessitura Pro for Positive User Reviews

GreatIf confusing … search function currently bust tho?.Version: 3.9.1

Amazing music app.So impressed with the tools for learning how music is constructed through scales and sub- structures. Nothing comes close..Version: 2.2

Rapid developer responseI purchased this app and it crashed when changing to bass clef. I gave it one star. Within a few days, I got a response and it was fixed. That is great support!.Version: 3.6.1

First victimWell the app does have a lot in it, although I like the way it looks some things are mushed up and in small letters. Hopefully and update comes soon where this can be fixed. The app does also take you to YouTube for tutorials on how to use the it plus help with the music theory If you are new to it..Version: 3.3

Fantastic appThis app has become an indispensable learning and teaching tool for myself as well as all of my colleagues. Tessitura is something that every professional and aspiring musician should own and reference. It is not often that you find a resource that deals with this type of material in such an indepth and informed manner. The material is presented in this app is presented in a clear concise and easy to understand manner. Great app!.Version: 1.8

GreatVery useful. I certainly recommend this app for students and teachers as well. The concept is amazing. Love the circle of fifths graphs and how modes are found by turning the graph around. The best feature is the use of patterns to create exercises for any scale or mode. I would really like the developer to add the main chord playing in the background while I practice. That would make this app the best ever. Please?.Version: 2.1.0

Brilliant Study AidSo much I never really understood about modes and scales is now crystal clear with Tessitura. At such a low cost too..Version: 3.9.1

Enjoying this app more and moreDev has continued to improve this app with regular updates. Now more benefits for guitarists. Would like to see the following: Search/filter for assistant actions. 'Favourites' in addition to recently added 'Recent'. Easy access to recent search terms at search boxes, and 'sticky' search term. But it's a truly useful app for exploration and for practice. Recommended..Version: 3.6.6

I'm in loveThis is the best musical app I've ever seen!!!!!!.Version: 3.2

Awesome tool!Great app. The only problem is that the limit for the note range on the bass clef is only up to a G above the staff. I've had to use the treble clef feature in order for the scale patterns to extend to the top of my range..Version: 3.8.1

ExcellentThanks for another great app! I Ignored the reviews this app has everything I was looking for..Version: 3.9.1

Great but..It’s a fabulous musical aid. Thank you. Would be nice to hear the scale...source patterns against the chord or subs. Would love to switch off the metronome before playback..Version: 3.9.1

Best thing everI am so excited. These mdecks apps seem to be about the most powerful tools for learning music that I have ever encountered. All for a few bucks. My only regret is that I didn’t have these resources 30 years ago..Version: 3.9.1

WonderfulThis is an incredible app to practice scales, modes and patterns. The approach-notes concept is a really nice feature if you are a Jazz player as me. I suggest watching the tutorials and the demos on how to use the app if you want to take full advantage of all the cool things this app has to offer, like browsing modes, symmetry, finding upper structures, etc. Well done! Thanks..Version: 2.0.2

Handy dandy appI came across this app by sheer chance and find it an excellent resource for developing on ideas..Version: 3.9.1

Looks like the bugs are goneI like the layout, You could really benefit greatly from this app if it would stop crashing, geez!!...UPDATE: Seems to be working fine now. Loads of fun and very helpful!.Version: 3.8.1

Tessitura ReviewTessitura is a musical knockout! It is by far one of the most valuable tools for any musician looking to improve his playing and his understanding of musical structures and their practical applications. Kudos to mdecks for continually developing the means by which all musicians can realize their full potential..Version: 3.2

OSX?I am enjoying the app very much on iPad. A while ago Im sure that I read that iPad users can download the app free for Mac OS X when it was released. I can't seem to find out how I can do that? Thanks.Version: 3.3.1

Missing Something...This is a great app for educational purposes, but I fell that, to make it even better, there should be a quiz/test feature or something interactive to help you learn more..Version: 1.9

Greatest Conceptual Music ToolI’ve always wanted to make an app to explain music via color and geometry. It’s just so mind numbingly brilliant how music can explain everything in life and this app is a direct interface for the means visualize it.Version: 3.9.1

Interesting and useful, some room for improvement. It is indeed an interesting model for exploring scales and modes. I would recommend it to anyone interested. An iPad on a music stand with tools like this is really helping me start to piece together my heretofore fragmented knowledge of tonal music. I’d like to see some custom descriptions in the info pane. For example in the case of harmonic minor, it could describe its character and relationship to natural minor, rather than just filling in the numbers in a default sentence about number of modes/transpositions (of course, it could still revert to the current form as default in cases without specific overrides). It would also seem helpful to allow tapping to play notes on the key/fretboard, and perhaps the staff as well. Might run the risk of being fiddly on smaller models, but on the 12.9” iPad it should work pretty well without requiring any changes to the layout. The interface can still occasionally be a bit unintuitive. I think I’m fairly used to it now, and I don’t know what it was like before, but having brought one of the mDecks bundles, I’m afraid the UX & UI is generally not as great as it could be. I’ve had more problems with Mapping Tonal Harmony Pro, perhaps I’ll get ‘round to reviewing that as well. The graphics could do with a bit more polish; not a big deal, but things like notes on the staff look a bit blocky... seems like a quick pass by a dedicated designer might not go amiss. I’m not a big fan of the general colour scheme or typography, but that’s pretty subjective and also not really important..Version: 3.9.1

Curiosity!I love this app! You can find all the music shapes within a scale or chord and play with it! I'm still finding new ways to use Tessitura Pro!!.Version: 1.5

Great Idea, needs some improvements.Love the mobility and experimental aspects of this app. Great scales and shapes to play with. Lots of Messian structures to try, along with the basic modes and such. Layout is alittle confusing, some things are spelled wrong (Musically and the way some are written. "Dorain #9"?) Would love an update in the guitar panel, as Its impossible to navigate while all notes in the corresponding scale you select luminate at the same time while moving. After some time I can construct the typical 3 note per string run, but for students this may be alittle daunting. Maybe consider adding a "position" option for those who want to digest each scale piece by piece along the fretboard. Like I said, fantastic app, great for experimenting if you already know your common scales/modes, and fantastic for learning the basics too. Make this THE scale app for teachers and students by including user friendly functions and expanding. Has lots of potential!!.Version: 3.4.2

Excellent!!!I was almost swayed by the negative reviews. I’m glad I wasn’t! Outstanding in every way! This is an amazing musical study tool written by musical geniuses!.Version: 3.9.1

Best Music App Ever! Watch the tutorialsThis is an extensive app, great for theory and practice. Watch the tutorials and demos to see all the that it does. Simply endless and brilliant. The simple yet effective graphing of the scales and how you get all the related modes by just rotating the graph around the circle is brilliant. I've been looking for an app like this for a long time. If you want to understand and practice scales this is the app. I can practice any scale in any mode, even scales I did not know existed. The circle of fifths with the scales in it is awesome. And the patterns are really useful. The fact that this app does not have thousands of reviews, puzzles me. I guess people just want to play games on their phones It is among the best apps for scales and modes I've seen..Version: 3.8.3

Enlightening and demystifying!I am a casual, skilled guitarist that has been playing for 20 years. This app has thrown open the door to a full understanding of how scales and modes actually work. It presents such a wealth of information simultaneously that after an initial 20-30 minutes of curious exploring, and comparing & contrasting, your brain will begin to see this unbelievably complex subject in a way that makes sense to YOU..Version: 2.2

Good app but confusing layoutThe app is very well thought out and informative but, the layout and design can be very easily confusing for first timers. Great work. You should make a chord progressions app also..Version: 3.8.3

TONAL MAPPING IS ODDLY FAMILIARI've been studying out similar ways of looking at the chromatic universe. Studied the entire sequence of harmony at Berklee many years ago, and consider myself a lifelong student of harmony. It is a never-ending endeavor. I'm also a painter who uses limited palettes of color. The parallels are amazing. Tonal Mapping is very close to Gamut Masking of the 12 hue color wheel. Being an artist of multiple disciplines (writing/poetry is the other) is helped when you can connect the dots. When I found this app, I found someone else who is mapping tonality. Almost like there's a Camaraderie or a Jazz Harmony brotherhood. Great app!.Version: 2.1.0

Jazz Improviser's PlaygroundThe world of scales and modes may look like a jungle to a Jazz improvising beginner: intimidating, hard to navigate, and frustrating to the point where it may cause one to give up. This application has converted that jazzy jungle into a playground, with near limitless opportunities for the aspiring jazz musician. It includes all possible modes and chords per scale/pattern that you may be analyzing in the app, and gives you information about what modes/scales/triads sound best over what chords. The app gives exactly what it advertises, and I would recommend this to a music educator to pass down to his students in a heartbeat. The only reason I give it a 4 star rating out of 5 is due to the apps formatting. It appears to be on the right track to achieving a simplistic navigational system that is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but there are still a few things that need to be adjusted to make this a 5 star music educational tool. (Note: they do have their own tutorial video channel on youtube on how to navigate the app, but if it can get to a point where it is more simplistic and eye appealing without sacrificing functionality and user freedom, it will be a music education super tool.) I'll be using this app for a long time. excellent job Tessitura app developers!.Version: 3.8.3

MrSimply wow...!!!!.Version: 3.2
