✓ Needs more featuresThis is a good app so far, but it misses some features that would normally be included in other notetaking apps. The first one is the ability to indent bullet points. When you’re writing notes, it’s usually a given that you’ll have nested bullet points, but this app doesn’t allow for that. There should be more headings, even customizable ones. The highlighting on iPad is very buggy, as in sometimes it won’t highlight something I select. It also doesn’t highlight any tagged words. Overall, this app is good, but missing some key features..Version: 1.6.3

✓ One tap recording gone?Still a great app but what happened to the one tap recording start? Now it just opens the app and you have to fiddle around opening a folder then starting it. Please add feature to automatically start the speech to text every time. Starting it is another button press. When trying not to forget something, less taps to entry please. ✓ NOT for TRANSCRIPTION - What’s the purpose again?I’m sure the app can do something useful for a certain population subset, but that target audience just doesn’t include me. So disappointing. I thought the purpose of this app was TRANSCRIPTION (with some extra tag features to find important audio info quickly). When I read the app description prior to download, I had a picture in my mind that was completely different than the actual app. For those with poor verbal memory, like me, I thought I would be able to read an article out loud or record someone speaking, and the app would do a better than average job understanding and transcribing the audio into written type. Uh, Nope. Transcription is such a non-strategic part of the app that the owners had to write how to get a transcription of a recorded audio. I followed those directions and still couldn’t get the app to transcribe. I could search more or contact the developer, but it really should not be this difficult. This is what I thought would happen… Push a button. Record. Either transcribe while the person is speaking or…Push another button. Transcribe. Unless I use dictation, instead of record, I have yet to get the app to transcribe the audio. BTW, using the dictate microphone instead of record means you CANNOT SWITCH APPS to read the article you want to record. Hmmm..Version: 3.4.7
✓ My Experience With Noted Thus FarI was excited to find this app on my new iPad. After having read all that i found I decided to give it a try. It seems like it has most of the features I need; however, I cannot seem to make them work in concert. What i want to do is dictate my papers and record what i say while seeing the text of what I have said. I then want to export that text into Microsoft Word. I have given up trying to do that although the product information seems to say it is possible. I have sent 4-5 emails trying to get support for Noted. I have come to the conclusion there is NONE, NADA, ZERO !! There is not even a bot to let me know my emails are ever going to be answered. I wish the developer had a chat feature but there is none. ✓ NoI really don’t understand this subscription madness. It is a nice app, but not worth 14 bucks a year. I’d rather make a one time payment and then forget about it (and even not use it when I’m done with things for which I can make a good use of the app). ✓ Share feature doesn’t workI thought this was my perfect note app when I saw this today. Had a play and loved but when I went to share with a friend he couldn’t open it. I also have modes where the files are being saved in my iCloud to share either. To be able to share my notes is hella important. ✓ You can’t even take my money :)Even with an active subscription app keeps saying I’ve got 5 notes left. Both iPhone and mac apps. So you manage to take money, but you can’t manage to provide the service you promised for that money. What is funny, I can “restore” my purchase inside the app, and everything gets ok for 2 minutes. ✓ A nice appGreat to see an app that allows video and audio to be added to a note as well as Apple Watch use. I cannot see the ability to create a table like you can in Apple note. I use this feature all the time. Makes formatting financial notes easier. Also security is lacking. There is no way to secure a note that may have sensitive information. You cannot just rely on phones security. You should be able to secure notes. For these two reasons I won’t be using the app..Version: 2.3

The problem was that I could only make one note, I don’t know if I this happened to someone else, but you have to pay to make more notes. ✓ Good for students, but not as a personal notes appFor all personal (non-academic) use cases I've had, Noted falls sort of my preferred notes app: Bear. However, the user interface is beautiful and the audio recording feature would probably be very useful if I were still in school, or working as a medical scribe or something. One major recommendation to the developers: if you allowed for sub-notebooks within other notebooks, or folders, for additional levels of organization, I would consider paying $30/year for this to use it for my work-related notes. For now though, I use Bear as my personal notes app / writing app, and I use OneNote for work notes since it has that multi-layer notebook/folder functionality. ✓ DisappointedI can understand trying to make money for the hard work and time in building an app, but to limit a new user to five lousy notes doesn’t make the app worth the effort to spend any time to try it out. The app itself looks to have some great stuff and if I could have time to actually work with it, I’d consider the purchase. ✓ One of the Worst Apps I've UsedThis is one of the worst apps I've ever used. Not immediately easy to understand its functions, appallingly bad transcription, leaves out great slabs of text and kept crashing during playback..Version: 2.4.3
✓ NOT Optimized for the Magic Keyboard & TrackPadThe app is awesome, however what made me cancel my subscription after using it for months is the fact that there’s absolutely no trackpad support. Highlighting, moving the cursor to another area of the document with the trackpad is impossible (literally impossible as it just doesn’t react), making me having to constantly tap the screen and waste time with my fat fingers trying to nail the sentence I want my cursor at. The Magic Keyboard has been out on the market for almost a year now, and it boggles my mind why the devs of Noted haven’t taken a slightest hint that they need to update their app to meet the needs of the new hardware options available to their users. It’s back to Apple Notes for me, other than the transcription option - it’s a 1:1 copy of that app anyways..Version: 3.2.3
✓ Fraudulent free trialDespite repeated requests i have had no reply to my emails to your support desk, and no refund. I allowed a few days due to the time difference but it is over 4 days now. This is completely unacceptable. I emailed support to cancel as I was unable to cancel the subscription on time because the links and instructions didn't work. ✓ Sync Issues & Data LossPreviously loved this app, as the audio function is invaluable - being built-in. However, it is rather troublesome as syncing issues between devices often persist and ongoing subscriptions aren’t always recognised by the app. Thus I’ve let mine lapse now. Customer service in the past was always outstanding, but recently it’s been the polar opposite - radio silence for months now. I spoke with them in January and touched base in the following months once or twice. Since that initial response in January they’ve not uttered a word. Despite the above issues it’s benefits still make it worthwhile if you have a need to include audio in your notes. ✓ Faulty App+ unresponsive customer careRecordings are often stuck in “preparing your audio mode” forever (!) which means that one can’t listen to them and/or transfer them. Consumer services are totally unresponsive. I have emailed them twice with two different issues (the first one was why don't they allow us to transfer multiple recordings at once? Why do they only allow one at a time? The second was about the recording that got stack) but didn't get a single response to any of them!!! Not happy at all! ✓ Let me down too soonToday was the first day of my trial using this app. I thought it would be worth buying by the end for sure. Yet, it crashed on me twice 30 minutes into my lecture where I missed crucial information. ✓ Subscription BarrierOnly 5 free notes? Or $32/year? I cannot understand how so many devs think they can justify a subscription on any and all types of apps. Years ago devs didn’t need a constant flow of cash to add new features and provide updates. They did it to stand above their competitors and compete with other apps. Now every dev and their mother thinks that they should be able to live off a single app. Some have small teams of staff paid a salary for part time hours. Hard to even consider investing money when I’ve seen other apps struggling in a year and having to raise prices just to maintain their lifestyles. ✓ Beware: Why am I unable to cancel my free trial?I’m signed up for the free trial of noted and would like to cancel my free trial and do not want the paid subscription. It appears that there’s no option for me to do this on my own which is unfortunate. It leads me to believe this is a ploy to cause more users to forget (or be unable to) cancel before being charged. Tsk tsk. Folks beware. I’ve emailed support and asked to please confirm cancellation of my free trial and that there will be no charge to my account. Formatting of text is clean & elegant but clunky and time consuming. ✓ Lacking for my scenarioI was hoping noted would bridge audio recordings and text based notes by enabling capture of audio on watch and then help transcribing this into text based notes. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to support this scenario currently. It seems more tuned to typing in notes while recording and cross referencing the two which isn’t a scenario I personally use much. There are other small niggles eg not supporting apple keyboard for iPad to control note playback (eg space bar play pause). Watch app doesn’t appear to support recording / playback from AirPods unlike the built in voice recorder. Can’t recommend for my personal scenarios, hope these points are addressed..Version: 3.7.3
✓ It looked like what I wantedEdit: I gave this app another chance because I need to find a dictation and transcribing app that actually WORKS, and it still doesn’t work. It picked up my voice for one or two words and can’t hear anything else. I don’t understand. I am a consulting attorney in desperate need of an app that actually does decent dictation of me or a streaming video. The dictation of a video on this was scary bad, some of the worst I’ve seen, ESPECIALLY considering the subscription price. It recorded one line, deleted half of it, then randomly picked up a word or 2, and deleted one of those two. Needs major improvement and I really hoped I finally found a good one..Version: 3.6.10

✓ Mediocre experienceThe fact that dictation processing happens in the cloud and requires a subscription is really annoying. The user interface has a bewildering number of buttons and it isn’t instantly clear what each button does. Most bring up new menus with too many options. There’s things like a gear menu and a hamburger menu visible at the same time, or a record button and a microphone button on the same screen. If your cursor is in a text field, you still may need to manually open a keyboard. Dumb design choices are everywhere. I frequently found myself wondering how to do something as simple add text or god-forbid dictate to the dictation app. Mind you, I could figure it out after some tinkering, but this is a note taking app and it shouldn’t need a tutorial or a manual. No one needs half these features. The features that are needed aren’t the design priority. This is shoddily done. These people aren’t selling an app, they’re allowing you to pay them to keep developing their half-baked project. ✓ Was great at first, then got much worse.So in the beginning of having this app, I did the one week free trial and it was great. The app was very responsive and never froze. Now, after having purchased the year subscription, the app is now: - Slow to respond to touch - Freezes after taking pictures - Freezes when typing - Freezes in camera when trying to cancel - Keyboard glitches out after coming back from taking a picture - Not even touching the screen and still freezes (can tell it is freezing because the time stops counting on the recording) - No time stamps happens when there are empty lines past where the cursor is - Highlighting is slow to respond to dragging If these things get fixed and these things added, then I might consider paying for another subscription period. - Should be able to back out of a note that is recording to look at another note and still stay recording - More colors to highlights - Audio connected to each word, not line.Version: 1.7.9

At first I was getting an "audio unavailable" error message on my phone when trying to access a recording made on the Mac app. After turning iCloud off and on again, I no longer get this error message and can see the recording, but now it stays stuck on "downloading" on my iphone and I cannot listen to my lecture I recorded. ✓ Not practical or reliableI use this product on macOS and iOS. I’ve made notes in preparation for a presentation. The app on macOS saved and I closed and opened it multiple time yesterday. But come today, day of important meeting, the work has saved 5-10% only. It is very unreliable. The user interface is amazing but if it’s not reliable what are you going to do but fail.
