Canary Mail: Secure Inbox & AI for Positive User Reviews

Reliable email app, SecureSend is a great innovationI’ve tried many email apps—Apple Mail, Airmail, Spark, Newton—but I’ve come back to Canary for it’s reliable search and the new SecureSend feature. When I search I can actually find the conversation thread I’m after without hassle. I like that I can now send encrypted emails for sensitive information whether or not my recipient has Canary or encryption keys. I also like the extra features it adds to Apple Mail while maintaining visual consistency—I.e. it looks like a native Apple app..Version: 3.57

Version 3.0 is perfectionA year ago I needed a new email client after I found out Newton has major privacy concerns and violations. I settled on Canary. A small payment for an email app that respects your privacy. While it was overall fairly good, it had its issues and felt like a downgrade at the time. That all changed with version 3.0. The new update makes it visually exactly what I want out of an email app. Everything is thoughtfully places and naturally follows the design of an iPhone. It’s packed with many little features I enjoy like the ability to change the icon color as well as adjusting to dark mode based on the iPhone system settings. This update was more than I ever expected and made the in-app purchase for all of the features well worth it – not only for their added usefulness, but also to support the developers. I really appreciate the developer’s respect of my privacy and am quite content with the most recent update. Keep up the great work!.Version: 3.02

Searching for Newton alternativeI’m very picky about email apps and Newton has spoiled me for the past three years. When they told us they’re closing shop, I went through more than a dozen third party email apps to find one that suits my preferences. I am a firm believer that premium features are worth paying for if done it’s done right. Canary, though relatively new, has a lot of key features all email apps should have: color coded email by account, email tracking, and EXCELLENT tech support just to name a few. Though not quite up to Newton standards, this app seems promising and I look forward to future features and releases. There are small nuisances like the inability to sort accounts after you create them, and the ability to pick notification sounds but these are trivial next to the functionality and the security provided by Canary. It’s also a bit slower to load emails than Newton. But for now, it seems I will stick by Canary and see what it becomes!.Version: 2.12

Best for encrypted email ...I have evaluated many different email apps over the years that claim to support GPG encryption, and Canary has always been by far the best and most seamless at that. Now, is it the best MAIL client in general? I couldn't say. However, I have had as good an experience with Canary as I've had with the built-in iOS Mail app, except the latter does not support GPG encryption. So, if your primary need is the ability to support GPG encryption , look no further. You can use your existing keys or work with new ones. Canary offers multiple ways of importing your existing keychains if that's what you want to do. They support many different email account types. I've personally only worked with exchange and gmail but both worked seamlessly. Now, I cannot speak to the quality of their technical support because I haven't had a need to reach out. It's always worked just fine for me..Version: 3.20

Slickest PGP email for iOSCanary Mail offers a beautiful interface and very slick handling of PGP, with no need for third party keyboards, or exporting email to a separate app for encryption / decryption. It makes it viable for me to sign every email from an iOS device, and encrypt where the recipient supports it. If you want to keep traffic solely between your device and your server, choose Fetch and not Push. As of today, it does not handle calendar invitations fully (you can receive them, and see the time / details, but you cannot add them to your calendar) but hopefully this can be addressed in a future release..Version: 2.17

Only the very bestOver the years, I’ve tried so many apps - Apple mail, outlook, gmail, newton, superhuman etc. but Canary has just been the solution I’ve been looking for with its intuitive UI and many features that build onto the native features of mail apps, it’s just so good. SecureSend has been great as well, and I don’t even have to worry about if the person on the other end uses Canary! Very well done team, keep it up!.Version: 4.31

Forget Spark, Airmail and the RestOk. If you’re a serial email app hopper (like me) you need to read this. I’ve spent various months of my time on Spark, Airmail, Newton, Outlook, Edison, Gmail and lately - Superhuman. And the new Canary BY FAR ticks all the boxes for me. It has a great Mac App, lovely design, delightful animations and elements - and crucially for me, Read Receipt Notifications. Seriously. This is the best of the bunch and I’m really happy to pay for this experience as we all need to support independent devs like the Canary Team to keep wonderful apps like these going. Bravo, Guys!.Version: 3.02

Love Canary, but……Secure send is mighty impressive but tends to lock up my “old” 🤦🏻‍♂️ iPad 7th generation” - it may be my end a I have a lot of apps?.Version: 3.45

The best?So is it the best mail App on APP store. Maybe. Could it be vastly improved? Probably. I am ,as all of you are picky, about email GUI security and such. A bit more stable it could be. Less need for reindexing, please. Better support for Exchange YES pls. But it is the best mail app you can find on the APP store by far. 30 days for trying and one time fee of 20$ is a perfect solution. Me? After first email to support where they asked what happened oooo yes we know what happened we will deal with it in next release, I bought the app. Took me 10 days. Best part is that we freaked people for security have a dominion here. It deals perfectly with it. You have your Open PGP yes. S/MIME yes. So I deeply recommend to try the app. You won’t regret it. And I guess you will buy it..Version: 3.19

Great App - One annoying Bug.App is great, blows the stock email app out the water and all other competitors I have tried. It’s fluid, clear, and just works. The built in features also make it super customisable and easy to use. That being said, I have one horrible bug that keeps cropping up and what pushed me the write this review. Once everyday or so it refuses to load email. Can see who it’s from and the subject line but any contents will not load whatever you try. This obviously ruins a perfect app. This needs addressing and once it has been I will update this review to reflect that..Version: 4.40

Great app for securityProbably the best mobile mail app out there! Canary mail allows you to use GPG keys which have always been a pain to set up in the past. I recommend it to everyone who wants to use a secure way of communicating without any hassle. The ui is also great and intuitive..Version: 3.19

Looks excellentI have only just found Canary having never quite found the email client that matches my requirement. First impressions are excellent and I have signed up to a Pro subscription on that basis. Clean layout, good functionality and personalisation options and intuitive feel. I may have missed something but the only thing lacking, in my view, is an Undo popup (perhaps for 10 seconds or a user selected time) for Swipe and Send functions. Hence only four stars at this stage. PS It would also be helpful to have a Feedback and Feature Request option within the app..Version: 3.75

Brilliant softwareBeen using this for around a year and found it to be faultless until the last update when I lost the ability to send mail The features are incredible and it just works Just waiting for next update that I hope will fix my problem.Version: 3.93

Could be amazingAt first I was really pleased to have found this app as it seemed to offer everything I wanted in a mobile email client. Adoption of encryption in email has lagged behind that on the web for too long. The app seems well thought out and the UI has a certain polish to it. After using it for a while though I noticed several glitches though. When composing a new message the recipient address would often disappear when selecting the suggested match. When viewing medium to long messages, the view doesn't allow you to scroll to the bottom to read everything. Sometimes a restart would help persuade it to measure the scroll length correctly, sometimes not. There are several functional glitches and support is friendly but doesn't seem too fussed about fixing them. A pity, as with a little more work this could be a fantastic app..Version: 3.12

Still in betaBeautiful app but so many things are broken it feels like it’s still in beta; £9.99 is expensive for a beta app. I feel that the developers have a great idea here, but the planning of the app seems poor which is possibly the result of naivety. Emails don’t display correctly. What good is an email app if you can’t correctly view the email? It’s understandable if the app was still in beta. Read receipts are hit and miss. I get read receipts from Spark when sending to a specific person, but none through Canary when sending to the same address. The UI is the best of every email app. Unfortunately there are so many little things that are misaligned and in the wrong place which ruin it. The ‘beautiful images are of poor quality and don’t look right on a retina screen. The font is not so easy on the eyes opposed to the stock iOS font. The app is on the right track to become the best email app for standard consumers but has a long way to go. I feel the developers need to speed up their work in order to achieve this though however. This is an honest opinion, I love the app and use it everyday, but until the issues are resolved and the app looks tidier my rating will not change..Version: 2.12

Great AppI have been looking for an alternative email app for my iMac and iPad/iPhone for some time as I found Apple Mail lacking in features. I have tried most of the apps in the App Store but they did not have the combination of features I require (tracking, reminders, snoozing etc) and it appears to have a good privacy policy as well. Whilst you have to pay for separate versions of the app for MacOS and IOS, in time this works out more cost effective than the subscription model that most developers are moving over to. For me, the only addition I would like to see in the future is “Smart Folders”..Version: 3.18

Works well 90% of the timeI chose this app over any others for the pinning feature. This is critical for me as there are important emails that I don’t want to miss, so this feature will always keep them at the top. I’m also able to snooze emails so the app reminds me to review them later on. Composing email works great as well. The one issue I’m having is that sometimes emails don’t load fully. It cuts off the bottom of the email. This happens in marketing emails... I noticed because I’m always scrolling to the bottom to find the “Unsubscribe” button, which isn’t there because the email was cut off. I’d have to go on my laptop to find the email and unsubscribe from there instead, which is inconvenient. Not sure if this is a known bug, but please fix soon..Version: 3.08

Great Mail appSuch a good find on the App Store. Once set up the interface is intuitive, especially when viewing multiple email accounts at the same time by having each account colour coded. It’s great to see that there is no subscription model just a one-off payment until version 3 becomes version 4. I guess I’ll approach that hurdle when it gets there. Only a few bits I’ve come across which was a pain, the main being the exchange account set-up, if it doesn’t detect the servers auto config address you have to type the entire URL, right down to the configuration file. This guidance was hidden in their FAQ, just a hint within the setup page would have saved some time scratching my head. The only other issue I have is that you can’t embed images into an email signature, unless the image is remotely hosted else where. Be great to have a few more options for signatures. Moving forward it would be good to enhance the email cleaner a bit further and have the ability to select all messages from one sender and mass delete them. The auto select feature within this app is good but not perfect. Overall a huge improvement to the default Mail app and other alternatives out there. Looking forward to future updates!.Version: 3.22

Great Mail AppI love this app, although I need to contact the developer somehow, as I’m getting some error messages when deleting messages. Please message me, so we can fix the issue. App is updated to the latest release..Version: 3.93

SimpleI like this App due its simplicity. Everything seems to be logically organised and I find it easier to print of emails. Setting up the emails is easy. There are so many apps where this is always a problem. Please keep up the good work as I would certainly pay for a new version when issued..Version: 3.41

Great word processor.Great email and processing software. Love the AI replies it can create..Version: 3.85

My kind of Mail AppThe app isn’t perfect. It seems as though there are still lots of features they plan to implement, but depending on your priorities, this could be a great choice. What I live about the app: 1. Read Receipts - this keeps me in the know and helps with anxiety 2. Email Encryption - this wasn’t the easiest to set up and I hope it will become more user-friendly, but with all the cyber attacks and hackers out there, I get peace of mind being able to send sensitive information to my wife knowing my mail is secure 3. I like that I can easily pin my mail and it shows up at the top along with a bunch of other swipe options 4. My favorite part is that it is a one time payment!!! Read receipt features are usually a monthly charge and this works just as well for me. I would never go for a monthly charge again. Things I think could be better: 1. The design could be a bit more modernized. As I said, it looks like they have plans in the work. 2. Add folder rules so that mail can automatically be moved out of the inbox and stored in a folder based on rules 3. An additional type of encryption where both parties don’t need a key, rather just a password when sending one way. 4. Swipe left in the mail message to go to the next mail message in the inbox. I don’t usually review apps, but I want this to succeed. There’s a lot of potential here. It’s already an awesome app..Version: 3.14

Ai answers question about deleting more than one email at a timeBased on the help documents provided, there are no instructions for deleting multiple emails at once on iOS. The steps provided are for removing an account from Canary on iOS, but do not cover bulk email deletion. Since the help documents do not contain information to accurately answer how to delete multiple emails at a time on iOS, I do not have enough information to provide an answer. I apologize that I cannot assist further with this query. Let me know if you have any other questions about Canary on iOS that I can help answer using the help documents provided. Also, additionally, on iOS, I was not able to get out of the copilot ai help and had to kill the app and reopen to get back to main screen. I'm on a trial but not impressed enough to spend money on it yet. Other options available. Other ones seem to be working better for less yearly money..Version: 4.40

Horrible - Stay awayHides emails even when you have all account inbox selected. Help section is useless as you'd need a week to get through the different scenarios. None addressed this issue. Why not just create a unified mailbox. No one needs a “favourite” inbox. The dashboard is useless. Maybe it's just me, but I've never had issues like this with Outlook or the IOS default mail app..Version: 3.30

Good, but has annoying quirksI downloaded the desktop and iPad versions of this app almost a year ago. I wasn’t happy about paying $10 for each, but I needed a solution that allowed me to save & use templates across devices, and I really liked the open tracking. I’ve since deleted this app from my desktop & iPad roughly 5-6 times...only to reinstall it. Why? It has quirks. It’s like that slightly racist grandmother that’s given you fond memories of cookies and milk...and racial slurs. For starters, the iPad & iPhone doesn’t save your signature. You can create it, and save it; however, they forget that you saved it as soon as you close the app. It’s Uber annoying to open Canary mail on my iPad or phone, start an email, then have to save the draft or delete it so I can go into the settings and re-save my signature. ...then go back to writing your email. Another quirk it still has is the templates don’t sync between devices. You have to re-write them on each device. I don’t understand the purpose of having an iCloud sync across devices if it can’t carry over templates. There are also other little bugs here and there; however, I’ll digress. The app has gotten better over time. There used to be far more bugs. I simply wish they could just get it right once and for all...especially since I paid for both versions..Version: 2.14

Inbox Zero Dark Five Stars!!I bought this email app not for its advanced encryption abilities, or any of its super amazing featureset - I just wanted a ruddy dark mode for my emails!! In the latest update they have enabled the actual email viewer with a dark mode as well so I'm basically INCREDIBLY happy right now. This is one canary I hope never dies. (Well, I don't have anything against the rest of them... You know what I mean).Version: 2.04

Yep, it is the best mail on iosRead tracking alone is worth the price. Niiiiiice job..Version: 2.02

Has potential, but buggyFirst impression is fairly good, but, it is buggy and has some weird weird implementation decisions that make me question the QA process and UI design. Worth checking out, in my opinion..Version: 3.32

Great alternative to NewtonAfter the second withdrawal of the Newton app (grr) options for email client with read tracking was either Airmail (old account still offers read tracking) or Canary. Canary elegant and straightforward. Seems really good so far. Airmail has too many setup options. Canary could be a little more configurable but does what it says on the tin..Version: 3.06

AwsomeAcey238.Version: 3.14

Great Email AppI have been playing with all the email apps today. This was the last one I tried. I wish I started with it. All the other email apps did something good or had the something about the appearance I liked. Unfortunately , they all had some problem. Push notifications didn’t work, accounts were not colored , no unified box, etc. Then I came across this. Everything works so far. All my email is pushed from yahoo, iCloud, and gmail almost instantly. Interface is crisp and clean. Pro trial is 30 days, which is a good trail length. I will definitely pay my 20 bucks after thirty days as long they keep this app as is or better. Very pleased. Thanks Canary , whoever you are..Version: 3.07

Nice application, like the design butI am missing a delete button within an email. I hate that I have to click twice to delete it....Version: 3.18

I’ve finally found my oneI’m an IT professional. Much of my life, a lot of people’s lives, revolves around email. I’ve been surprised with how hard it is to find a good email client for iOS. The default mail app is too basic, the “free” apps have shady business models, most paid apps are either clunky, unstable, subscription based, and/or also have shady business models. Canary is the first mail app I’ve found that does what I want in a streamlined package that isn’t from a company that’s keeping my emails or my passwords. I’ve bought or tried almost every email app for iPhone and Canary is the best of the bunch. Hoping for a unified inbox for WatchOS and maybe some tool-tips for icons, but otherwise, this is close to perfect and a steal at $4.99.Version: 2.04

Great App!First of all, thank you so much for bringing back the one-time fee for Pro. I purchased immediately after seeing this. It’s nice to see that the team takes input from the users seriously! Second, the best app for mail & productivity. ‘Nuff said! Keep up the fantastic work team!.Version: 3.80

What the heck, dudeI don’t know why I’ve just discovered about this email app just now. I’ve been using many different email apps over the years and none of them are exceeding my expectations or they just turn super buggy all of sudden for no reason. And this one… this one, dude… it’s the best. The interface is perfect and also not to mention clean, organized, and super clean. The settings are not even complicated and straight to the point. It’s like there aren’t many unnecessary clutter of options in there which is a good thing because even though many options is good, we don’t even need them all. Does that even make sense? Anywhoo, thank you to the developer for this beautiful app and all of your hard work! You da best..Version: 3.63

Great for privacy, slow in performanceThis email client is a great option for wanting to have a piece of mind about your data being mined for advertising because that does not happen here. But I will say the interface and the performance definitely lags behind the competition. Which provides an issue that seems to be true. You have a service that is privacy focused but don’t perform as well in fetching new emails and keeping a badge showing on the app even when there are no unread emails. Or you can go with a data mining client that you can’t trust but can expect great performance. I believe the service has the ability of being great and it’s amazing that there is a focus on keep individuals data private, but there has to be some quality of life updates to make the app run smoother. Using this on iPhone 12 Pro Max.Version: 3.22

Great for Difficult Corporate IMAP ServicesUsing a Mac (yay!!!) but the organisation has not yet moved to a mainstream mail and calendar service - they use their own in-house collaboration suite for security reasons (don’t ask) and Microservices outlook does not work, airmail kinda, Apple Mail yes totally works but I want to separate work and personal email for efficiency. Canary worked right away, synced the calendar which outlook couldn’t. It’s expensive compared to others but it actually works so I’m having to upgrade to pro. For me it’s worth the added expense. It’s a good product..Version: 3.18

Perfect!I’ve tried out many email clients over time. I’ve been looking for one which embraces both iOS and macOS platforms in a seamless way. Canary is it! Everybody has their own way of working, and each of our brains are wired in different ways. So, what seems logical to one individual is not necessarily so to another, but I think Canary have got it cracked, and I take my hat off to them. I’m still in the trial mode, but I’ve used it robustly for the last couple of weeks, and it’s still not disappointed..Version: 3.11

Great app but….Love the app. Want to fully pay but… occasional instability, emails assigned to labels reappear in inbox, the archive folder is renamed with my gmail account name , cross device sync occasionally doesn’t work. If these got fixed it would be 5 stars ✨.Version: 4.45

Such a great appOmg if I had the money I would purchase this! This app truly rocks and understands AI. It’s just so nice to use compared to many email apps out there.Version: 4.40

Fast developing AppThe rate at which new features are added to this email client is incredible. It was already super secure, the user experience is getting better all the time. Impressive.Version: 1.15

Canary is my daily driverI look forward to further improvements, but this is now my primary email app on iPad and iPhone!.Version: 2.14

Best email app I have ever downloadedThis is by far the best email app I have used, very intuitive, straightforward and uncluttered..Version: 3.45

My Favorite iOS/iPadOS Mail app by farI was looking for an app that had a number of nice features that made me dislike email just a little less. I primarily use ProtonMail on mobile, but wanted more for my other applications offered, or didn’t do well. I tried a number of well reviewed apps, and hoped I could find “The One” I could use on my MBP. Apple Mail, Gmail (forwarding other accounts), Newton, Spark, and more I can’t think of. Spark was close, but no dice trying to use it with Proton Bridge on my MBP. Enter Canary. I think a couple days of on again/off again tweaking to get the layout right, but I feel like Canary Mail really is “The One”! It’s amazing on mobile, offering more than I would expect, and even better on MacOS - I’m currently running a beta build of Monterey and Canary’s been perfect! Just a couple small pieces of feedback to see happen to make this really close to perfect: 1. The “tweet” sound for received mail is great, but not available on the MacOS version. 2. Add the ability to add a folder on the fly in accounts that support it. Otherwise, I think this is basically the perfect email client for me and I’m glad I made the purchase!.Version: 3.34

Easily the best iOS email app for iOSThe recent refresh of Canary for iOS is amazing. It was already among the best apps for power users concerned about efficiency and privacy, but now it easily tops the list. Built-in encryption and the option to not have your private data uploaded to some unknown third party's servers make this the only app I'll trust aside from Apple's own mail app (which is awful to use). Enhancements I'd love to see are a button to load images in the current message, as well as the ability to whitelist senders for remote image loading from the message viewer..Version: 3.02

Minor UI issues & preferencesThe app works fine. I do feel like push notifications are slow to happen, but my biggest complaint has to be that you should allow me to change it to dark or light mode if I want. Don’t force me to use what my iPhone or my Mac uses for system preference. Also the app icon does not change. It’s always dark even though it’s set to light. Lastly, I hate that it doesn’t tell me I’m running pro version. It still suggests I can upgrade but I’m already upgraded. - An additional feature I wish it had would be to allow me to pull emails from archives folder and move back to inbox. Spark recently updated their app and not knowing how their new iOS app worked placed all my emails into archive but won’t let me move them back. Needless to say I switched to Canary as it’s also pretty nice to use..Version: 3.69

Revision on updating security protocolsMight want to check your security when it comes to bugs, bot net attacks, worms, etc. apparently there is a high demand for cybercrime cats to monitor suspicious activities to warn or present flaws in the system. Since I reside in a heavily society whom like to dabble into private accounts and such, it would be to the interest of the company to ensure that your security services against these types of activities can be preventable or almost preventable of users becoming victimized by cyber terrorists. Granted keeping up with security vulnerabilities are a bit of a challenge, regardless of the user doing anything they can humanely possible on doing their part in solidifying not only their sensitive information but also in securing the devices that are in attachment of this app, ISP and network services. Hopefully this review helps in reporting any unusual activities in reference towards the usage of this platform..Version: 3.26

What I’ve Been Looking ForOne of the few security-conscious mail apps that’s also beautiful and a pleasure to use..Version: 3.25

Like but significant functional missI really like Canary for email but it is missing a few features. The biggest one that has turned me away from it is the way it deletes email. I like saving a copy of all my sent email. So, when I reply to an email, I want to save my replies and be able to access it from all my devices: iPhone, iPad, and Mac. To do this, the email needs to be saved in my sent folder at my email provider. Canary does this just fine and this is great! However, when I select the email I just replied to and delete it, Canary deletes the record of the sent email too. As a result, I do not have a record of the email I just sent. If you can deal with this, Canary is a great email client!.Version: 3.55

Yay!Such a great app — well built and nice..Version: 3.18

I liked it until...I like until I realized that when you leave the app then come back (I’m not talking close the app, just put it in the background) it sometimes opens with the logo... as if it’s opening for the first time. A few times I have written a portion of an email, went to grab or take an image, and come back, only to have lost what I was writing. This can also be annoying if you click a link in an email then want to go back to being within that email. For example, I wanted to click 4 links in an email. I clicked 1, then went back to canary to click the second, clicked the second, then went back to click the third, and it started with the logo. I don’t want to find that email again. Why would it work the first time but not the Second. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason..Version: 3.02

Redesign is greatHave always liked Canary for it’s seamless encrypted email support, it’s the best out of the ones I tried. And really like the new redesign, it’s easier on the eye than before, which is why I used to skip between it and gmail iOS. Less so now..Version: 3.10

Cool app with a more than fair business modelI love this app, it's got a slick design, it works flawlessly, it handles multiple account types without problems and the one time fee is refreshing in the days of Everything As A Subscription. Some of the controls aren't the most intuitive (you have to select "Edit" in order to mark multiple emails as read) but once you get used to it then it's very simple to use. Well worth 5 stars!.Version: 3.06

Good app, let down by supportOn the whole I like this app. Initially I couldn’t see my folders, support spoke to me like I was clueless telling me to do exactly what I told them I’d done and hadn’t worked. Turned out the problem was I need to switch off unified view. The app also insists on in-app vibration every time you receive a new message and offers no way to disable this notification. If I’m sitting in a meeting quickly checking email I don’t want my phone vibrating continuously for incoming emails. This functionality is easy to configure for the iPhone email app. This is a beautifully crafted app that is currently falling down on some simple functionality and mediocre support. If these items were addressed it would comfortably be five stars..Version: 2.07

Great email app!!Just joined and I have to say it’s a lovely email app. Like most I’ve tried many and always give up and go back to Apples built in app. I don’t think I will this time! This app looks stylish and well designed and seems very secure. We just need a watch app and complication I would be one happy user 😁👍.Version: 1.16

Très bienAvoir essayé plusieurs boîte e-mail , je suis très impressionné par Canary. A date ça vaut 5 étoiles 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Bravo.Version: 3.36

Good so far but needs more optionsSo I do like the app. Layout is good but I do wish I could control with what emails I get notifications for. I have the smart notifications turned on but I still get alerts for almost everything. I have a gmail account and it be nice if I could only get alerts for my “personal” folder and not the rest like updates, promotions etc..Version: 3.84

Brilliant Email ApplicationVery clean, precise and easy to use app. Definitely worth the cost if you want a top shelf email app. Would definitely recommend..Version: 3.27

This app is greatSince the default Mail client in iOS 15.5 stopped working with our self signed cert, I had to find something else. Tried a few others and wasn’t satisfied. When I found canary mail I said to myself this fits what I need. One request, a short cut to the top where the search bar is, after scrolling down numerous emails, one has to re-scroll back to the top to access the search bar..Version: 3.71

Free as in free speech AFAIK, minimal naggingPlay it by ear, but for privacy respecting mail on a freedom unfriendly platform, canary seems to fit the use case..Version: 4.45

PerfectJ’aime bien même si je comprend pas le fonctionnement.Version: 3.55

All-in-one email client masterpieceThis app has made working from home a whole new game changer. I have always found it absurd how convenient it is to have an email app on mobile yet when it comes to replying and composing emails through them, it just takes away the whole emailing experience. Canary Mail has officially revolutionized the world of mobile emailing. When I use this app, I feel that I am still using a computer to professionally reply and compose emails. What I love best about this app is that it has a read receipt feature to let me know when the recipient(s) have opened my email, cross-device syncing for when I am alternating between devices, and the auto-filter feature that selects unimportant emails for me to delete without having to go through the trouble of picking them off one by one manually. Overall, this app replaces all mobile email clients and I paid for the pro version with no hesitation. :) this app really stands out and I don’t think any other app can ever compare..Version: 3.22

The bestI experimented with various email applications including Spark and Spike, and ultimately found Canary to be the most satisfying, leading me to buy its lifetime package..Version: 4.39

Good email client but lacks good integration with iCalIt’s a good email client but tapping on iCal links to auto create calendar events is a nightmare. Also the option to move items from junk to inbox is surprisingly lacking..Version: 3.12

The best mail app on AppleI have tried everything: Spark, Outlook, Spike, Proton, Default Apple mail etc. Spark has great UI but I missed encryption and read receipts. Spike offered everything I wanted for free a year ago but now it has some capping to make you a paid user. I found their pricing to be complicated. Apple Mail app is what I always fall back until I find something great again. Its main issue is, Apple doesn’t think mail is an important part of our lives and it’s ancient approach will make your inbox flooded with unread messages. Then comes Canary. Almost perfect app. I got everything I need from it. Encryption, seen, and a modern intelligent design that helps you cut the clutter. Trust me, within a half an hour of integrating my 5 mail accounts, I could reduce 4000+ unread mails into zero inbox. This is huge and I loved how its smart algorithm finds unimportant mails and helps you archive them. Mac app has some UI and minor functionality issues. App Menu isn’t much responsive. Plus it needs a little bit refinement everywhere. But under the hood, it is a perfect app. I am trying it for 30 days, and I will mostly go for Pro. I hope the developers of this good app will try to match the detailed refinement of Spark..Version: 3.11

Best mail appCrystal clear and rich in functions.Version: 3.25

Love version 3It's great there's finally a trial version. Liking the usability and built in encryption. My only concern and question is upgrading to a paid version. Only option appears to be the Pro version for the more expensive price. App store In App purchases provides two versions and prices..what's the difference?.Version: 3.05

Wow......I'm sick and tired of going back and forth between email applications and I know you are too. I tried settling on Gmail but it does only one thing well, it grabs your emails. I tried using Apple Mail, which is actually one of the better applications but it's not creating new features so to say. I tried Outlook, which is another great application but for me, it's too feature filled for my needs (I highly recommended it though). I've tried Edison, Spark etc. and always came back to Gmail but not any longer. I found Canary! It's a great balance between personal and professional needs. The GUI is excellent and navigating Canary is as easy as navigating iOS. Like you,I depend on email and use it constantly on a daily basis. I LOVE how it has read receipt power without the receiver knowing) , an easy dashboard, great calendar and it gets granular too if you need that. The price is high at $20 for Pro BUT think about this, it's not a subscription, which is a trend I hate on the App Store and Pro unlocks a bundle of more useleful tools! Go Lite or Pro, either way, you just found your last email application you'll ever have to try!.Version: 3.18

Good, needs more workPossibly the only iOS mail client with PGP support. However, there’s a bug that causes a crash when importing keys generated by GnuPG. It’s also important to have PER-ACCOUNT settings for encryption/setting, i.e. use a different key or auto-sign/encrypt for some, not all accounts..Version: 2.06

My default email app on iOS devicesI had been looking for an all in one email client that made managing multiple accounts easy. After trying multiple other products which made tall claims, I think I have found one that meets my requirements. I have purchased your full subscription. The ease of use is phenomenal, integration is done well of multiple accounts, with additional options/actions apart from reply. I like the snooze function and also calendar integration into the app. So no more switching between apps. Feedback: Allow for rules set in parent mailboxes to be applied in Canary mail. As of now no option to set rules in Canarymail which is a bit tedious. Allow full integration of calendar to respective parent calendar. As of now, if I make any changes or create new calendar entries, I can only see them in the Canary App, I don’t see the changes in the relative parent calendar app, say Google Calender or iCloud calender. Some emails deleted still show back in the unread queue or even in the parent email account, even though I have deleted the emails. I would like to see the above implemented into your app, it would make my life easier. Thanks again.Version: 3.24

Ok 😎Ok cool 😎.Version: 3.57

Close, but not enoughI really wanted to like Canary mail, and I even purchased the pro version of the app. Unfortunately, it’s just too buggy. I often have emails that don’t display unless I force close the app and I encounter sync issues whenever I organise my emails on a different client. Will come back to it in a few months to see if it’s any better because it definitely has potential..Version: 3.36

Please read thisThis is the best looking email app I have used, it’s amazing but please do something to make it quicker; I get the notification straight away but when in the app it takes a very long time for the email to show up where it instantly showed up on other email apps. This is the only thing, the rest is great. I did pay $7.99 for this too!.Version: 1.16

Best email client you will ever find.I have used all email clients available, from Mail to Polymail, Edison Mail, Spark, Postbox, Newton, Superhuman, Airmail and of course Outlook. For me the function of “read” receipt is crucial and is something that Canary has. On top of that the UI is superb and easy to use. Search function is also very good. You also don’t have to worry about font size etc, everything is taken care of for you. The only disadvantage is that the synch of receiving emails and loading is sloooooow. You may have to wait 2-3min to get the email appeared. Edison Mail is the fastest on this category. If they fix this issue, then Canary simply doesn’t have competition. For the time being those two are overall the best with Canary close first..Version: 3.25

Best iOS email app.Hands down best email app..Version: 3.22

Fantastic email clientHave been using this on Mac, iPad and iPhone now for about a month and absolutely loving it — the ability to pin, star or snooze emails helps hugely with managing the daily email flow, and being able to instantly create reminders right from the email has changed my world!.Version: 3.62

OutstandingCanary Mail is outstanding; it has dramatically improved, and Read Receipts are brilliant. Previously they wouldn’t work. Copilot is interesting. I’ve used it for a few emails, but I usually write long hand. Canary has got it right and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it double in price, it’s worth as it’s outstanding value..Version: 3.88

Great email client with room to improve on MacI used Canary 2 a few years back and while the built-in encryption was a great feature the overall experience felt lacking. Canary 3 improves on the previous concepts and delivers a more complete email experience. The iOS app feels the most polished, but I prefer to do most of my inboxing on my computer. Here’s where I ran into an oversight. For all of the features and improvements Canary 3 offers, the text interface is just too small. I have to strain my eyes to scan through my inbox, which isn’t sustainable. If the developers included a way to scale up the interface text this would easily be a 5-star app that could go toe-to-toe with juggernauts like Spark or Thunderbird. I sincerely hope it’s implemented in the future, because this is seriously a great email client..Version: 3.24

Canary AIHi, All I really appreciate the Canary email AI quick reply software which is a very professional speciality the AI quick reader for emails my inbox has never been so good and much easier to understand on a day-to-day. love the read receipts functions that let me see when clients ares reading their emails...as that gives me insight to their urgency and responsiveness. Also favoriting my clients helps me bring focus to them...so I don't miss replies. Pinning and snoozing also work well to manage time sensitive emails...and both work flawlessly..Version: 4.29

I can recommend this Mail AppIt’s a beautiful and secure Mail App. I think I will purchase the Pro Version of it. But where is the option for enable for this app the dark mode? Then the German translation of this app sounds for me as a German a little bit bad. It needs a improvement where I could help. The design and animations could be more nice and maybe create more variations of app icons like LGBTQ or Transgender friendly. At receiving or sending new emails an animated flying cute canary bird with letters in his mouth would be awesome. This would make the app more funny and give style..Version: 3.19

Very easy to set upReally easy to set up with having 3 email accounts and having multiple accounts can get overwhelming so the fact all my accounts can be in one place safely in one encrypted app gives me extra time to easy access all accounts in one! The lay out is also well designed.Version: 3.36

Solution to encrypted e mailsFor a long time I was looking for a application that can manage encrypted e mails in iOS.And Canary did the trick.Very user friendly, reliable and nice to use..Version: 3.07

Mostly great, needs some stability tweaksI mostly love Canary (indeed I’ve bought the Mac and iOS apps for my business and the additional license for my personal Apple account). There are some unusual Face ID glitches if I don’t fully quit the app from time to time (particularly on iOS14, but give that time.) and I can’t wait for it to be a default mail app either (just please allow discounted upgrade to 4.0 if it’s under a year from 3.0 release otherwise it gets expensive) However the thing I really like is it’s simple to use GPG functionality. I prefer to sign my mail (occasionally encrypting it) and this is so far one of the few iOS clients I’ve found that does this reliable well. Thanks Canary, and please keep up the good work..Version: 3.14

Best IOS email I foundChecked out a number of paid/unpaid clients. Canary - has best security (you can prevent it storing your mail details/password on a third party server unlike spark and almost all the others) - most have basically the same features (snooze, spam etc). This has things most don’t have (read tracking) and has a Kanban style UI making the rest much more usable - has serious PGP security if you want it and the defaults even make it easy to use - has a nice looking UI.Version: 2.18

Very solid email client, odd calendar featureReally enjoying the email side of the app. Great UI, really appreciate the 'buy it once' monetization model. Can't seem to figure out how to open any calendar items. When trying it always opens a 'new appointment' window so I can't accept any meeting requests from within the app, or look at the contents of any meeting already in my calendar..Version: 3.30

Almost thereWhile it doesn’t have some features I like in other apps, even with Pro option, Canary definitely delivers on lots of levels. I don’t find a way to give them feedback which surprises me for a fairly new app - even Evernote still gives you an opportunity to do that. I miss the undo option if I accidentally delete something; I am confusing why there seem to be no key commands - even Outlook for iOS has that - but the set up was super easy and the sync between devices works well and was easily set up. Alas my iMac is 11 years old so can’t run Canary (or probably any other very new app). So I am still leaning how best to use the app and hoping I can switch over to it full-time. With the calendar there’s only two views so far - I assume that will improve as well. Keep at it, folks..Version: 3.27

Refreshing but inconsistentI've tried them all; Edison, Spark, Airmail, Outlook, Newton. Canary looked to be the endgame for me since it had everything the stock Mail app offered plus some bonuses. And it is/was. The UX is clean and easy to use, WatchOS notifications work well, and I love the color ID option per account. However it's also plagued by sync issues, especially across multiple platforms, and erratic content formatting. I found myself repeating actions on both my iPhone and iPad (also cellular) which can be painstaking. Viewing emails is really a big hit or miss. Some load perfectly fine, some only load halfway or skew the content, and others don't even load at all. This is a fundamental function and after almost 6 months I'm convinced it's the coding that either refuses to be fixed or really is just the way it is. Which leaves me no choice but to dump the app and return to the native option. Thanks for the time. Maybe I'll revisit in a year and see where things are..Version: 3.06

ExcellentBeen trying to find a email service/platform for a while. Very easy to use with great features and layout of all my emails. Even through I have only been using the app for a couple of weeks, still learning more about it. We do a follow up review.Version: 3.15

Pretty goodSome nice features and I like the clean UI. I especially like the AI feature and the ability to see a summary of a conversation. Occasionally buggy but not a deal breaker. For some reason though, it won’t work at all on my work’s wifi network. Only on 5G and everywhere else..Version: 4.04

Professional EmailFinally a beautiful interface and well made email client. I have been using gmail, outlook, and spark and was never satisfied until now. Your huge update made all the difference well done..Version: 3.96

Love Canary……butHi guys. The app has been fantastic, right up until a few weeks ago. I’m consistently being signed out of Google, and when I reconnect, I’m being booted out again a few hours later. This is obviously really frustrating. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times but it makes no difference. I’ve been through all the settings and reviewed them, but again it makes no difference. Please can this be fixed?.Version: 3.96

Neat and sleekAmazing email client that ticks all the right boxes!.Version: 4.43

This App Needs Some WorkI’ve just downloaded Canary Mail, and even though it looks like a really nice app, I honestly feel that there’s something missing. I feel that the emails are too much on top of each other, there definitely needs more spacing between the emails. Before I subscribe to the Pro version, I need to see this change..Version: 3.85

Great App but.It is great and I use it for the purpose of push notifications BUT it has a very limited sounds (10) which are not practical as well and most of the times I miss the notifications. You can’t use the phone sounds and not even import your own. You are stock with very limited sounds that are short and hard to hear :(.Version: 3.41

Excellent email client- one requestCan you please re enable the feature that closes the read email so it goes back to the list view when you drag the whole email down a bit? Like on the old version. Or make it an option. Also where is the nice image when getting to inbox zero? Thanks.Version: 3.02

So far so good.Started using this app only today. Great so far..Version: 3.96

Nice little appHad this app from the start, it’s a excellent little mail app & does what it’s supposed to do without any problems !! The notifications sounds are a bit awful & weak & that’s the only criticism.Version: 3.80

The best email appSo good.Version: 3.57

Dark App Icon/Swipe Action BehaviorHi, Love the app! Works incredibly! Wanted to offer some feedback on a couple of things. Firstly, I feel the app would benefit from the Dark app icon having a black background to better suit themed home screens and to provide a better contrast with the white icon. And for swipe actions; it would be great to have the option to make the swipe itself trigger an action as opposed to having to press the action after the swipe Other than that it’s great! Cheers..Version: 3.15
