✓ Ruined in latest update 😡This was a great app until the last update. Now it’s basically a web browser with iPad app chrome. Why couldn’t you leave it as it was before, just a pure WhatsApp app? Also the notifications rarely show up on the iPad, the app badge rarely updates so I have no idea by looking at the iPad if there are new messages. So have to open every now and then, with this update the in app browser loads every time, whereas before it didn’t do that. Please just make this what I paid for, and not an all in one app. We want WhatsApp back!.Version: 2.0.2

✓ Does the jobAs I use an iPad more often than my phone but rely on WhatsApp quite a lot, this basic app is useful to access and send my messages. There is sometimes a problem with the app saying my phone is offline when it isn't. I paid for pro version on one of my devices to avoid seeing ads but am very disappointed indeed to find that I can't download the app I've paid for on another iPad - so have to stick with the basic version because I don't think I should have to pay again. Also, being a stickler for proper capitalisations, it irks me that the first letter of each message isn't automatically capitalised. When I open images, I can't freely zoom and scroll. ✓ Not good on iPadIt works well enough on the iPhone that it’s quite useful for communicating with family that’s out of the country. The iPad app is not so great. I don’t always get my messages. However, it is very slow at loading and fairly unresponsive, clicking on a thread almost always scrolls it all the way to the top of the conversation too which is an almighty pain, and notifications coming through are very hit and miss. ✓ Pointless, glitchy, and ad-riddled.I'd probably put up with it being as glitchy and infested with ads as it is, if only it brought something useful to the table, like serving in place of my phone for WhatsApp when my phone was unavailable. ✓ Various problemsSomething turned this from being the best app to use WhatsApp on an iPad, into a bug-ridden time-waster. On an iPad Air 2, with my iOS, it's full of glitches: For example if you try to scroll up and down the message page, it's just goes blank. If you tap on the List of people at the left hand side, it freezes, doesn't work in the way you expect. After much experimentation it turns out you have to click on the Circular image, not on the name. Completely and intuitive. Etc etc. All kinds of nonsense, really dumb decisions. The connection time too is very slow. For a while it wasn't possible to load in messages or connect at all, luckily it's now possible once again. But it's so agonisingly slow, you rarely want to bother to open the app at all..Version: 1.3.2

✓ Well it is WhatsApp on the IPadI’m yet to buy the full version but I don’t think that has any impact on how well the app works. Please make it possible for me to access the emoji button next to the text field when using the app in split view. I have to drag the centre split line until this app takes up two thirds until the button shows up. Not a big deal but would like it fixed. Also, the app seems to randomly decide when to show me notifications, but again not a big deal as I can read it on my phone and then hop onto the app on my iPad. Like another person has said, you have to double press the chat icons to switch between them, wouldn’t mind that being a single press. ✓ Horrible on iPadI use the iPhone version and it works great, but on iPad there are too many glitches. If you need to insert the cursor to correct a mistake, the text window you're typing in switches from the bottom of the screen to the middle of the screen, but doesn't insert the cursor, so you try again, but now it switches back to the bottom of the screen, but still no cursor. It's quicker to erase everything after your mistake and retype it all than it is to try and insert the cursor at a different point in your text. And opening the app and conversations takes forever. ✓ Really Poor Implementation of Key Features; Constant HarassmentWhat makes this app intolerable is the fake push notifications and app-badging; which don’t go away even if you pay for “Pro” features. Today I received three fake push notifications, along with the red badge, that were only designed to make me open the app (presumably to serve me ads); I received no actual messages. In fact, I’ve never received a push or badge when I had a genuine message. Useless. It’s dependency on having iPhone on a local network, in my case, is not a total dealbreaker, as I always have them both, but it’s a sad state of affairs. At the same time, WhatsApp inexplicably refuses to play on iPad, so, as a matter of convenience for viewing and typing, I tolerate this app and will silence it’s pointless notifications. This app provides iPad accessibility, and that’s it. I paid for Pro as a way to support that, and feel cheated and abused that it still harasses me. The biggest reason as occur in voice text, because with this app you can't send voice but you can recurve but there's someone there too. When you finally figure out that you have to press the arrows icon you can see your chat history . If you select a chat multiple times you will eventually see the chat history. Ads in this app appear right away as soon as you turn it on. It is very strange that Internet connectivity does not affect the ads. ✓ The worst implementation possibleThis is app has one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had on iOS. Push notifications don’t even work, so you literally have to open the app to know if you’ve been messaged. However, the app will send notifications reminding you it exists! Multiple times the app has sent a notification saying “send notifications with WhatsPad!” It’s the most annoying app on my iPad. Not to mention the scroll view is buggy, and the interface is squashed & not formatted for the iPad screen at all. Overall, one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. On the official app on the iPhone, if you swipe right you can reply to that particular message. You are unable to do so in this app (since it's essentially just an in-app browser logging into Web Whatsapp). When you click on a message bubble, normally you'll get the arrow pointing down to show additional menu (happens on the Web Whatsapp), in this app the menu does not show up so can't find out more information about that message bubble..Version: 1.2.8

However, the fact that you have to have your phone not only on the same network but have WhatsApp opened on the iPhone for the iPad WhatsApp to remain open makes this app completely pointless. FB Messenger beats WhatsApp in this regard, which I feel is the most important. When I get home, I toss my phone aside, and can seamlessly continue on FB messenger, which stays connected, and has full and functional push notifications on all devices, not just iPhone. WhatsApp iPad fails miserably here. I have to tap twice on a particular chat on the left just to access it? When I tap to type a message, why does the keyboard overlap the bottom half of the chat window? And then once I do have it enlarged, it’s only ONE tap to enlarge which is the complete opposite of iOS? ✓ It's ok but has some annoying featuresThe app is ok, but there are some very annoying features. It doesn't always sync with my iPhone, even though they're on the same wifi network. It seems to lose the connection and you have to refresh often; the notifications are hit and miss too and only works occasionally. The zoom on photos is pretty ordinary too. But probably the most irritating thing is I upgraded (paid) to get rid of the ads, but now almost every time I open the app there's a pop up pushing one of their other features. Of course that costs more money, so I feel ripped off because although there's no banner ads there are these stupid pop ups instead. Most of the time it just sits there displaying chats in the left hand column but no matter how many times I tap on them, it does not go into them. If I then send or receive a message on my phone, it immediately updates in the chat column but still doesn't let me use it. About one day in four it lets me in and then it seems to work fine but I'm only going to give it a couple more days and if I can't get it to connect, I'll delete it. Even more annoying, sometimes it lets me into a chat that I don't want to get into, but does not let me change. Deleted and reinstalled it. No luck. Waited 12 hours and tried again. ✓ Okay but not okayOkay, so this app’s fatal flaw is that it doesn’t notify me every time I get a new message EVEN WHEN the phone app is open/ active. A few users had the issue in which the phone and other device (iPad) doesn’t sync together unless the phone app is remaining active. My case is pretty bad though, I have to manually open and check this app on my iPad for it to load whatever that came in my phone first. Push notifications are non existent so you’re just gonna have to live with this until this is fixed. It has a few annoyances, though. You need to click a person's name twice to see their chat history (first click shows an arrow for archiving, etc), which is weird. ✓ WhatsApp for iPad? No thanksThis app is really annoying to use - it keeps telling me it’s syncing with my phone and it will use less data if the phone is connected to WiFi. My iPad has no sim, it is always on WiFi and I mostly only use it at home, the phone automatically switches to WiFi as soon as I’m in range of my house and yet WzPad can’t seem to reach it. ✓ Need Better featureThis is a good program because it supports Whatsapp from mobile phone, but I like more with LINE app than this Whatsapp. Because LINE can be connected via email, without asking to connect mobile phone. If this Whatsapp app can be accessed from iPad without asking to connect phone every time (has similar feature with LINE app, or ask to connect to phone only at the first time), it will be much easier and more convenient.
