✓ Excellent content, terrible appThis app hosts incredibly high quality content that you won’t find elsewhere; however, the app itself is full of bugs and UI issues. Attempting to save recipes or creations does not always work, no matter how many times I attempt or quit the app from memory and reload, which can be frustrating when I’ve gone through and found things of interest. Making the matter worse, searching for the exact title will not always pull up the result. Some are never to be found again. There seem to be issues loading content. The number of creations within a chef’s collection might change each time I visit the page, with things disappearing at random. Similarly, viewing my own saved items, they often only partially load, with saves or entire collections temporarily disappearing. I am leaving this review because the link for help within the app is yet another thing that didn’t work. If you want to find some inspiration on the spot for immediate use, this app might be helpful, but it is not stable enough for saving recipes and ideas for future reference..Version: 6.0.2

✓ Really poor appDon't know how this app can have achieved so many positive ratings but looking through them most are short and lacking in detail possibly demonstrating a manipulation of the scores. For me the app doesnt deliver on its promises. Many of the methods are impossible to follow due to a lack of details and there is no up front list of specialist equipment required. Getting to the end of a recipe to find I need liquid nitrogen is not helpful. It isnt worth the money - if they made it free for a year while they improve the content then one could argue a case for signing up but I found it very hard to unsubscribe before the end of my 7 day trial and that was the cherry on the top of an otherwise inedible cake..Version: 6.4.2

✓ Tik Tok Trash - STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMThis app is absolutely useless unless you are paying for it & also giving over a lot of your personal information as well so you can "activate your profile". It is a combination of short TikTok style videos with a throw together of a couple of lines of instructions with the rest of the instructions hidden for any recipe you want to look at & you have to pay to access the rest of the information. Also looking at the profiles of the people that have "posted their creations" they all look fake with every one of them having the exact same number of dishes posted. I recommend anyone to go to their website as well which boasts numerous "Top Teir" hotel chain logos but the website is also completely vague with little information that I highly doubt any of these top teir hotels would be associated with this mess of a company that could potentially have their staff poached from them..Version: 5.4.0

✓ Lost in translationThe app has got a crazy amount of potential, unfortunately when it comes to recipes that aren’t in English (or one’s native tongue) there’s a problem. The translate function is on a google-translate level and when it comes to complex recipes, a minor mistranslation can ruin the whole dish. Definitely an aspect to fix. I went ahead and explored more recipes after I left this review, and I went from 3 stars to 1. Some recipes are just a picture, the one for “maritozzi alla panna”, which is a bun filled with whipped cream typical from Italy, only has one ingredient displayed: cream. What am I supposed to do with this recipe?! At least make sure recipes are complete before letting a user post. This app is garbage and not even of the recyclable kind..Version: 6.1.0

✓ Great concept, really jankyThere’s a lot of excellent information in the many videos and recipes on here, it’s a great source to learn many molecular gastronomy techniques. But the app has a terrible amount of bugs. Often times I’m unable to watch a video without it buffering, and when I close the app and reopen it, it still doesn’t work. I would say it’s worth a download if you’re into the molecular gastronomy style of cooking, but I would not recommend getting Pro. I was getting 2-3 notifications a day for recipes paywalled behind Pro. I eventually caved in and the videos almost never load, when they do they stop about half way through and buffer endlessly. It also has a terrible interface, it’s confusing in what it wants to be. This app has a really long way to go, while I’d still recommend it to a few of my chef friends, I will warn them about the issues and bugs this app has. I look forward to when I can actually watch videos, and not feel like I wasted money..Version: 4.43.1

✓ Not a “Free app”A bit misleading to advertise it as a free app when most of the actual recipes require a pro subscription. As an amateur who doesn’t need the “networking”/job application side of things, but wants to watch the recipes and masterclasses, I would LOVE if there was a free (or at least much cheaper) version for non-professionals who just want to learn. Those video recipes are great content and they are kind of wasted by being locked away from people’s reach, they deserve having much more views like they would if they were on Youtube. You could still make money with promoted posts etc from chefs and restaurants who want to be more well-known, even if you don’t charge people for watching recipes! That’s how Facebook/IG/Youtube makes millions without charging users. It would also be useful to be able to filter the “stories” by type, i.e. picture only, short recipe, long recipe and whether it’s free to watch. Please let me know if any of this is implemented, I’d be happy to change my mind/review on this as I think the concept is great, but I am getting frustrated that I keep seeing chefs on Instagram refer to their gronda profile for “full recipes” that I can’t afford to watch 😭.Version: 4.40.1

✓ Needs lots of work !1-Why would you advertise this app on the US App Store when the app is 90% in German ? I actually saw some Italians there complaining about such a thing . If you want the app to be just for Germans then fine , but if you want to make it for everyone, you should either make it in English or at least have the option for everything to be translated in English, not just a couple of recipes . 2- The app was presented as a place where chefs and foodies can come share experiences. Discussions about flavor and different ways to prepare the same ingredient. It’s awesome. Unfortunately, the app is unusable. I am unable to actually enjoy this amazing content because the UI makes it literally impossible. Freezing isn’t a one-off here; it’s the norm. UI elements that should show up (play button, rewind, fast forward) most of the time just don’t. There’s no way to view all lessons in a masterclass to pick up from where I stopped, so I have to start with the introduction and tap the “next lesson” button (if it shows up—most of the time, it doesn’t) several times to get to the video I remember having watched last. Currently I cannot play a video because there’s no play button. Oh, full screen videos? Don’t even think about that. That feature doesn’t seem to exist..Version: 6.23.1

✓ Too many fake recipes to scroll throughThe app developers need to have someone that can approve any recipes before they are posted. I would say on average at least 75% of the recipes I choose to cook will have no ingredient list, or no method, or literally nothing whatsoever as just a picture of a plate of food. It’s very frustrating for spending so much money on it and most of the recipes I click on shouldn’t even be on the app. Need to have someone checking to make sure each recipe that’s posted is indeed a true recipe with all details. ✓ Wonderful content, atrocious platformI really want this to succeed, the content is outstanding and differentiated, but wow the app/platform is terrible. Please please focus on the quality of the interactive experience because it is REALLY bad, much worse than even basic websites without an app. Video playback is jumpy or slow, clicks in the app take seconds to respond (and respond more than once!!), it’s terrible. ✓ Great Concept but needs revisionsThis app is great in trying to connect modern gastronomic techniques to individuals working in the industry. The only overbearing issue is the somewhat confusing layout and the overwhelming amount of bugs and connectivity issues. It's frequent to crashes when trying to watch content or videos. Particularly the masterclasses they have. Short videos are at times slow to load or don't lose at all even over WiFi. The layout seems janky at times and takes some time loading occasionally when scrolling down the main screen. Other than the technical issues the content is pretty great. I would definitely recommend to others but hope there will be some technical and layout revisions in the future..Version: 4.34.0
