HeavySet - Gym Workout Log for Positive User Reviews

Really useful app.Dear dev, thank you so much for developing such a useful app and not a subscription based! It really help my workout routine run smoothly since I always forget how many set Ive done. But i wish that you could implement the additional calorie base for the exercise in near future. Best regards..Version: 2019.2.2

Best app on the marketI’ve tried every app, excel spreadsheets, books, printed templates… you name it. I keep coming back to this app! So easy to use and provides enough data to track effectively. It’s a fine balance to get something smart and easy but not too complex and time consuming and I feel that this app has hit the nail on the head. 💪🏻 One suggestion for a future improvement is to include the ability to track warm up sets v working sets (a symbol for example) as well as drop sets, rest pause etc.Version: 2022.1.1

Great Workout LoggingSimple to use. Has lots of features (supersets, drop sets, timers, rep max, etc). Best features ? Built in detailed reports and the ability to export the data. Worth the money for the full version ($13.99). Tried Jefit, Fitbod & Strong, this was the clear winner for me..Version: 2018.3.2

Hands down the best there isHave used dozens of training apps since I decided to use apps to replace pen/paper tracking. Don’t waste your time with any others. This is the one. Best value, no ongoing subscription (which is ridiculous btw) and all the flexibility you’ll ever need in a training app. The deload and workout importing functions are outstanding..Version: 2022.1.1

Perfect for meBeen looking for a simple iOS gym log for ages. Log workouts easily, track and graph progress of each exercise, done. Along with recognising new rep max's and showing a 1rm estimate. And can see all the features before you pay so you know what you're getting, perfect..Version: 2017.2

The best iOS appNot just for workouts. The developers care about the app and continuously update it with new features without comprising the one rule: Simple, not basic..Version: 2019.4

Love this app a lot. Just 2 things...I love the idea. The app execution is outstanding and the UI looks incredible. There is so many features packed into a small little versatile app, but I feel like some essentials are missing. This app doesn’t have an option to log warmup sets, failed sets, or dropped sets. If it does then it has a hard time making it accessible and clear to access. Second, I am unable to input the weights I plan on doing for my next workout. Yes, I can just punch them in while doing it, but having the option to set how much weight you plan on doing would save me some time. Other than those two things this app is fantastic..Version: 2020.1

So far it’s okayCurrently a couple of days into using the free version and so far it’s good. One question though in the paid version is it possible to enter a routine in a future date? Would be useful to plan and enter a workout the night before..Version: 2018.5.1

Transformed my workouts! The best workout app I have seen so far and now probably the most used app on my phone. This app has helped keep me focused on targets and quantifies my workouts so that I can push the boundaries every single day. There was a trial period but ended up buying it straight away. Love it!.Version: 2018.6.1

ExcellentI tried 10 different free to try Logging Apps, this was the one I went with. Used the free version for 6 months and then purchased the Lifetime. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the small details to make it easy to use. I have logged 2271 sets, 26758 reps and 2.7 million lbs of volume in the first 6 months without a hitch. Best money I’ve spent after my gym membership..Version: 2022.1.1

Fantastic stat tracking!I loved this app once I started using it, being able to see my max weights for different rep ranges, across all exercises I was doing. It helped me push harder to do one more rep, or go that little bit heavier than my last gym session. What has impressed me most is the improvements that have come in releases. You can assign any exercise to (any number of) groups, allowing you to track progression even better. Keep up the good work, i’m very happy to have paid for a lifetime subscription. Next to protein powder and bro science, this is the best thing 4 dem gainz..Version: 2018.4.1

Simply the bestA straightforward lifting tracking/programming app. Great data and visualisation. No subscription!.Version: 2022.1.1

Amazing! Only on thing!Absolutely great app, does what it says with no ongoing costs, only one thing: Apple Watch integration? That would be a great add on for users..Version: 2022.1.1

👌🏻👌🏻.Version: 2018.8.1

Love this app!Absolutely love this app, totally worth the £9.99! Did the free trial and loved how it was put together, simple easy tracking of my workouts. No longer scribbling on paper, love how it totals the load, great for progressive overload work, also like how the countdown beeper comes through my music without interrupting the tunes which is great. Whoever designed the app clearly knows what gym goers need! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 totally recommend this!.Version: 2018.3.2

AwesomeThis app is very easy to use and does a great job at tracking workouts. I was wondering if the ability to include cardio will be added later. Keep up the great work..Version: 2018.6

Best app for lifting & I’ve tried them allI am so grateful that I found HeavySet! I’ve tried just about every app out there for tracking lifting and this was the only one that had the feature set that I was looking for. I love the flexibility for workouts—when I’m doing a saved workout I can change just that session or save changes for future sessions. Different graphs/analytics for progress tracking, and calendar view. Import/Export and notifications when you hit a new pr. I only wish it had sharing/guest access to share with my trainer.Version: 2019.4

Great appLooked around for ages for a good app for the gym...this one is it! As it says, Simple not Basic which is ideal - just the numbers is all you need. Definitely worth the money. One update that would be great to see is adding the ability to time/set times for sets - eg when you want todo as many weighted push ups in 1 min) Thanks.Version: 2018.6.1

AlexLove the app quick and easy logging of workouts as well as easy to make custom workouts great app.Version: 2017.1.2

Just what I needPerfect. Does exactly what I need. No unnecessary features. Easy to use. Love it.Version: 2020.1

The best workout logger for IOSExcellent overall, I literally tried every workout logger available & Heavyset won hands-down. There’s only two small issues that I have found (hence the 4 star rating instead of 5)... Firstly, one cannot rename exercise groups once created; if you want to rename a group you have to delete it & remake a new one (which is a little daft/inconvenient as; if doing this, you’d have to go through & re-ad all of your exercises to the new group once created). Secondly, there is no way to use the app for timed exercises instead of reps (i.e. say you wanted to do a set of 3 60 second planks). I work around this by logging the plank as a set of 3 reps so that I have a record of it in my workout routine; however, I toggle over the the developer’s other app ‘Seconds’ in which I have created a Plank timer (which is a solution that works very well, it must be said). Again though, overall this is an excellent app & beats all of the competition by a country mile; no silly subscriptions or unwanted workout recommendations/exercise changes, just a simple & intuitive workout logger (perfect but for the aforementioned minor points). Oh, I also think that Heavyset would benefit from a watch companion app; I could see people using their watch for exercise prompts & logging of the sets but then referring back to their phones for the more in-depth data & for workout/exercise creation etc..Version: 2018.4.2

Heavyset is way better than Strong or any other appI’ve tried out Strong, Fitbod, and Stacked. Heavyset is far better than all of them. The way the data is put together. The ease of use. How easy it is to just add sets and reps. Changing weight or having it remember the last one you put in. Everything about the OS is intuitive and sleek. I used to write on pen and paper. Now I’m using HeavySets! Forget all the rest! Try it, you won’t be disappointed. After one workout I was sold on it..Version: 2017.2.3

Great App. Cant upgrade to full version.Great app. fantastic tool. Update issue resolved very quickly. Keep up the good work guys..Version: 2018.5.1

Great app, howeverIf there was an option to finish and save a workout as oppose to just exiting this would be one of the apps on the market.Version: 2018.8

Awesome 😁Best app on market.Version: 2018.6.1

Excellent appI really love this app. I very rarely leave ratings let alone reviews. It’s worthwhile watching the video tutorial because this app is complex (in the best possible way)..Version: 2018.5.1

Makes weight lifting a lot lighter 👍🏽Yay, I don't have to think. No more worrying about timing, rests, or my next set, or the amount of reps I have to do. All I have to worry about is my form, stripping fat and building muscle. Seriously makes my whole routine, and inadvertently my life easier. Highly recommend..Version: 2017.1.2

ExcellentLots of options to actually build your own programs that can be organized into folders and sub folders so that you can simply open one and the app will effectively step you through the session. These can be percentage dependent based on a training max that can be set manually or even updated automatically based on new rep records and e1RMs, all of which are tracked and logged in the history. You can create your own exercises and assign body parts to them so that you can track volume by body part, by session, by exercise, and by week. Nice graphs put this into a visual over time, and you can choose to track it by tonnage, reps, sets, etc. Of all the training apps I’ve tried, this one is easily my favorite mainly because of the flexibility it has to create your own routines. Hard to ask for anything better than this one. Seriously give it a try..Version: 2018.5.1

FantasticBest there is. Extremely intricate and detailed. Can be overwhelming at first when you’re not used to tracking and inputting values but it’s very user friendly and you’ll catch on quickly. There’s also great user guide videos. A lot of automatic calculations take place in the background to make things easier for you anyway. Definitely worth the money. Try it for yourself and see..Version: 2018.5.1

Heavy set No.1I have used the full version of this app for over a year and it's so reliable and has an easy to use interface.Version: 2018.6.1

If you are a weight lifter, this is it!!!It does pretty much exactly what I need. Import/export allowed me to move from another program without losing any history. I also love that I could just buy it. Hate subscriptions. Lastly, love being able to export routines as text, modify routine in any text editor then import back into Heavyset..Version: 2019.3.1

Best workout app at the momentBeen using HeavySet for a few years now and it’s probably the best app for weight training workouts. Love it..Version: 2019.4

Best lifting app yetAbsolutely great app. Any chance you can make an Apple Watch version?.Version: 2018.8.1

Well worth the price!I never pay for apps, but this is truly worth the price… I’ve been using this for over two years, and it’s been a great way to track my lifting progress. It’s highly customizable, which I love, although it took a minute to learn to use. Still, glad I bought it!.Version: 2020.1

HeavysetSimply the best...period!.Version: 2018.8.1

Awesome app. Would love to see one extra thoughLove this app however would love to see notes pop up on exercises from previous sessions. For example, if I did squats 2 days earlier and wrote notes on these sets, before I squat again today I’d love to read over those notes when it comes time to doing that exercise within the workout. Also, setting up customisable block periods would be great too!!.Version: 2018.3.2

Love the app BUTIt would be nice to have setting in the same place as KG and LBS. Right now you can only type in a weight you have done. But some machines have a stack numbers 1-10 rather than an actual weight and I wish the app supported this..Version: 2022.1.1

Great workout trackerHave been using it for past 6 months. Fairly intuitive from start. Wish I could group multiple workout plans (summer, Fall/Winter & Spring) in a simple homepage layout. Sure thst will happen at some point. Best workout app I’ve come across to-date. Worth the nominal cost. Updated on a regular basis, unlike Strong thst died out over several years..Version: 2018.4.1

Awesome and simpleExactly what one needs to train. A timer, exercise titles, weight and 1 rpm calculator..Version: 2019.1

Great app with a few issuesI love this app, but there are a few things I wish would get fixed or added: the auto timer function is very inconsistent, most of the time when logging a set the timer does not start. Second, I wish when I added exercises to a saved workout, it would give me the option to add it permanently. Finally, PLEASE add an Apple Watch app! It would be so much easier to update on my watch during a workout!.Version: 2019.4

The BestOver the past couple years I’ve tried at least 5 different training apps. None of them really seem to suit me because I train at home, and use a weight vest. Some of the apps the out there have a limited list of exercises that you can perform and if they don’t have it you have to ask them to add it. With HeavySet that you don’t have to do that. This is probably the most flexible and easy to use app out here and it tracks your process so you can keep making gains..Version: 2020.1

Fantastic free app💪.Version: 2022.1.1

GreatI have been using heavy set for 10 months now and it’s great. Easy to use and quick so it’s not a distraction at the gym. I only have one suggestion for the developers, I wish the rest clock would show up on the lock screen. So that when you are resting you can look quickly without unlocking your phone for access. Other than that, Perfect!.Version: 2018.8.1

Fantastic app!Really love this app, very helpful to track workouts, glad I upgraded to the pro version!.Version: 2019.4

Took a whileI have used a few apps, and 1 in particular, which covered DUP style of training and they did away with the settings of undulating which resulted in linear progression so I stopped using it. I found HeavySet... it took a few runs to get used to the app and you have to purchase the pro version to unlock all the features BUT it simply is the best app. It not only tracks linear but undulating progression as well. It tracks total volume and estimated 1RM. You can switch between KG or LBS during a workout (my gym has both weighted plates). The UI is clean, simple. It's just perfect..Version: 2017.1.2

AmazingI’ve used RepCount for years as well as strong and others on the App Store, this is the first app I’ve seen that would easily allow DUP and other more complex programmes to be built in without the need for excel spreadsheets very very impressive and a clean interface.Version: 2018.5.1

I wouldn’t be able to work out with out this..I cant recommend this app enough. It has truly become a necessity in my workouts and I don't think I’d be able to workout with out it.. I’ve been using the app for about two years now and it has brought a lot of value to me. The organization of workout routines and tracking reps/sets has been extremely useful for my progress in the gym. I work with a lot of heavy weights (typically 400+ lb) so it is important that I track each rep. The timer is extremely useful and helps me keep track of the rest periods between my sets (for existing users, you need to swipe up on the timer to bring up additional timer options). I rotate between 5 minute rest periods for strength sets and 2 minutes for volume sets. This has helped me stay on track for a lot of the sets during my workout and ensure I’m not wasting any time in the gym. As well, their is a plate calculator built in the app. When dealing with high volumes of weights it can be difficult determining which plates and how many to use. This has helped the monotony of switching plates be more efficient for myself. Overall, I’m in love with this app. I have never left an app review before but I feel it is required for me to give my positive feedback to this app. I have recommended this app to my girlfriend as well and she is hooked as well. A workout log book is $20+ on amazon. This app is less then that and offers more features and benefits. Do your self a favour and but this app. You will not regret it..Version: 2019.4

Great all, exactly what i was looking forI’ve been searching for a good workout app I could use to run my own routines with lost of customization while still being easy to use. HeavySet does pretty much everything I want. I’d love more options for the core exercises i do between weightlifting sets but it looks like the new update might even add some more possibilities there. Great app, good work!.Version: 2018.4

WonderfulA digital logbook of my workouts. Exactly what I wanted..Version: 2020.1

Clean app with all you needI like this app for a few reasons. Firsty, the UI takes some getting used to, but there was thought involved with making it an efficient experience to log your workouts. Secondly, I like the option to add new lifts and delete old ones. Finally, it's just 10 bucks to get all the features. No subscriptions, just a flat fee..Version: 2018.3.2

Best Weight Training Assistant EverI love this app because it’s the only one I’ve ever come across that has a tempo builder and that’s priceless. It takes a bit of getting your head round loading your workouts in but nothing to taxing. I also like it remembers my previous weight from the last training session which is really important for me..Version: 2020.1

Totally worth it if your serious about tracking and progressing in the long term.If your into Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, or like to log training progress this is the app for you. Not to mention the fact that if you train you should be logging workouts anyways to maximise your gains and progress, this app is brilliant. It has a tone of functions and options you can change and set based on your individual goals. Plus it does all the calculations for you and shows your total Volume per muscle group, One rep Max and even calculates on Intensity percentages. This is not even scratching the surface on the amount of stuff in the app and I’ve only had it for a few days! It’s superb. No more logging workouts in notes haha. I don’t normally review or buy in app purchases but for the price and the lifetime access to all the umf this is totally worth the purchase. It’s a lifters wet dream when it comes to tracking and logging so if your reading this and your sick of not progressing or struggle tracking progress, you should definitely give the app a try as it’s free to use anyways. Thanks to the dev and all the hard work this guy has put into his app..Version: 2020.1

Worth paying for! This app is great for simple and quick logging between sets and setting timers. Tried several other apps but this is by far the best and most affordable with only a single lifetime payment unlike some apps that use the subscription model. Historical graphs help you see your progress. Volume calculations and 1RM calculations are great for progress as well..Version: 2019.4

Just what I was looking for!Top app. After trying several workout apps - HeavySet came out on top. Easy to use and no unnecessary frills that complicate using it..Version: 2018.4.1

The best logging app out there.Really easy to use and most of all practical.Version: 2019.4

My favorite workout appVery good app for logging workouts. Powerful program creation features to plan out every detail of your workout or just easy logging for winging it at the gym. Some features are a little unintuitive but that’s the trade off you get for having a simple interface that does exactly all you need 98% of the time and still being capable of more.Version: 2020.1

Does the thinking for me!I’ve been using this app for over a year now and I just love it! It stores all my data for me. I’m constantly traveling and it easily switches between kg/lbs as international gyms usually have a mix of the two. It gives me a countdown when my rest time is coming to an end. It shows my progress be week/month. I’ve compared with several different apps but HeavySet always has more features and it’s user-friendly. Big fan! Thanks!.Version: 2018.8.1

Brilliant App - certain features could use some love to make it feature complete thoughI have been using HeavySet for a few years and overall I’m pretty happy with how it works - it has a intuitive UI, and makes things simple to use. I would suggest adding certain features to enable periodization management in the app though. Something as simple as the ability to increase working weight by 2% every week would go a long way to increase the utility of this app. It recommends weights naively based on the last workout, or you can tell it to suggest higher weights using the “deload” feature but that adds some friction in using this..Version: 2022.1.1

Excellent - slight changesBrilliant - best app for logging workouts. Needs to be updated to be able to include supersets / giant sets etc.Version: 2018.5

Best of breedThe user interface is not for everyone, but this is probably the most powerful workout tracking app that doesn't require a monthly subscription. Top of the wish list for improvements would be some indication in the graph of how you did in your just completed set versus your history. Right now you can't see your set charted until your next workout, since the chart disappears as soon as you complete the set..Version: 2022.1.1

Changed my lifeWith this app I have reinvented my workouts at least 8 times. Each time I try something new and each time I manage the progression. I never go backwards because I always know where I left off. It is amazing and I love it. BTW - this is the first and only time I have submitted a review like this!.Version: 2022.1.1

Best workout tracking appGreat app. Wish it had an Apple Watch app.Version: 2019.2.2

Well madeA simple but powerful training log app. The creator have also uploaded tutorial videos on Youtube to learn more about this app..Version: 2018.8.1

Perfect for lifting. Don’t need anything else.Took a bit to get used to the user interface - swiping is your friend, swipe everywhere! - but otherwise perfect. Muscle groups makes tracking volume much better, intensity is helpful (eg you can set a 1rm max and then train based on % of it), can create your own exercises and add them to volume groups, tons of great stuff in here!.Version: 2018.8.1

Useful Record keeper & LogReally useful calendar to log workouts. Some intuitive functions to calculate increases (based on formulae from 1 rep max etc...) would be useful. Would be great if you could access a wider database of workouts..Version: 2018.8.1

Great appA great way to keep track of your sets and reps. I’ve tried many other apps, and none are as easy to use and allow me to keep track of what I want as well as this one! Worth it for sure!.Version: 2018.7.1

Fantastic, but not quite perfect.I have used Fitness Point Pro for 4 years, and have never found an app that improved on the simplicity of it. Heavy Set is very, very close to being able to be a better app, especially from a design perspective. My biggest complaint is the inability to use RPEs in the “intensity” field, only percentages. As many powerlifters use RPE, this would be a very beneficial addition..Version: 2017.2.3

FantasticExcellent app - definitely buy pro version, I’d been recording my workouts on paper for years and struggled to identify trends, this makes it simple. Love the timer!.Version: 2019.3.1

Love it but have an update idea!I am a professional volleyball player and I use this app a lot to creat workouts or input a workout my strength coach gave me! This app can do so much and it almost has everything I want in a program log and tracking app! One thing I find myself wishing this app could do is doing my intensity percentage for me! The programs I do are all based off of my 1RM and I find myself having to go to my calculator to find 75% of 1RM! I wish I had a customizable section where I can add exercises and their respective 1RM max and be able to edit it whenever I need! Then when I add intensity percentage to my exercise it automatically calculates what weight I need! Other than that, I love this app and how I can create folders of my different programs and add my own exercises and basically customize the app to what I need!.Version: 2020.1

An app that finally stopped me using paperI love this app. Lots of functionality to enter programmes. Great support when I have questions or problems..Version: 2019.4

Best Tracking App Out ThereBeen using this app for almost a decade now. Tried a lot of others. This one is hands down the best and most well designed. Worth the price. It’s got a lot of features so take a little time to get used to it to find what you like and how to set it up but once you do it’s really the best..Version: 2020.1

Great purchasePersonally i like this app the most out of the other ones bc its easy to use and not as expensive as other ones. 10$ a lifetime charge is worth it. If you know exercises and have a set routine, use this. Intermediate to advanced only is what I’d recommend. It gives you 3 basic workout plans, but its not enough. Do research on weightlifting and use this app to track your progress..Version: 2018.4.2

Nearly perfectA great app for logging your workouts. Lots of how to videos to refer to when your new to the app to help get you started but it’s very intuitive with a clean layout. I’ve used a few different apps ranging from free, one off payment and subscriptions and Heaveyset it by far the best. The only reason it’s not getting 5 stars is the lack of a watch app to allow quick logging during workouts..Version: 2018.5

Great tool but a little confusingUpdate- Found my issue on import was in the format. Missing a space between the routine name and the ##symbol. Docs would have helped. Used for the first time today. Only one major issue is how touchy the buttons are ( a lot of unintended taps) and how little feedback is provided. When I logged a set, the timer doesn’t auto-start and the weight field is still showing it is editing but the set increments. If you aren’t paying attention you’ll hit log again, and again, thinking it didn’t register. You then notice you’re on set 3. Easy to edit and fix but could be avoided with a little UX work. UX aside, this is one impressive app, very well done. —————————- old review ———- I just found this app and it seemed to have everything I was looking for. While testing the import from pasteboard function it just stopped importing. When I copy something to the pasteboard, go back into Heavyset, instead of showing me the options it just says Heavyset Pasted from notes and then nothing. No routine or anything. I went to the developer website and there isn’t a support option. I paid for the full version. Does the developer still work on this app?.Version: 2019.4

Best Workout App on the App StoreThis is by far the best workout app I’ve ever used. The level of customization makes it worth the buy but recently when switching to a different app during workouts, it will close the entire workout out and I’ll have to go through my history to pick back up where I was before. It’s very frustrating but other than that, still a very good workout app..Version: 2019.3.1

Best lifting appIt takes a little to get used to, not automatically intuitive. However once you get used to it it is an amazing product. I’ve used many different paid and free workout apps and this one is by far the best. I’ve read the negative reviews here and I disagree with most of them. The last one stated you can’t change the weights mid workout - yes you can. Or people complaining it doesn’t track body weight routines well - it’s a weightlifting app. Would love to see a max 1 rep, not just based off the current weight, and to be able to choose percentages- for example 70% of your 3rep max..Version: 2018.1.3

Good app with GUI you have to get used toFree trial limits how many times you can enter an exercise and I was able to "waste" all of them just fumbling around in one day due to complex GUI. Developer should seriously consider something like a week long trial. Anyway, paid version is great, delivers all the features I need. Once you get use to it, it is very intuitive. Support is also great, got all my question answered in timely fashion..Version: 2019.4

Great way to track workout progressHave only been using the app for a few days, however, already found it to be an indispensable aid in logging my workouts and tracking progress. Happily parted with previously used pen and paper. Appreciate the nice little touches like the plate calculator and adjustable volume of the audible alert. A few crashes here and there; usually associated with adding new exercises or new volumes. Not a huge deal but certainly would be nice to get rid of. My wishlist for future enhancements is the ability to: 1) Copy exercises within the same routine and to other routines 2) Emphasise supersets by colour or in any other meaningful, more obvious way. Current indexing method of exercise naming such as A1, A2 or B1, B2 can be easily overlooked on a small screen or seem confusing, especially when brand new routines are being trialled..Version: 2018.4.1

IndispensablePerfect companion to my “old fashioned” paper log that I use for my gym workouts. I really enjoy the charting, rep tracking, and it’s *simplicity*. This is an app that does not try to trap you in its own ecosystem. It has a handy import and export, connection to Apple heath and a clean interface. The only drawback I can think of is that I have a hard time tracking exercise times since I enter my workouts after my session..Version: 2018.8.1

Of all the lifting logs...This one takes the cake. I’ve tested multiple weight training logs for an extended period of time and have made the simple conclusion that Heavy Set. It takes a few days to get the hang of it, but once you get a grasp on the user interface it’s smooth sailing. After you conduct a specific lift three times, it will begin graphing your progress for that lift. This allows you to see your progress easily. IM A HUGE FAN OF HEAVY SET. Only suggestion is that we can add notes to each individual sets..Version: 2018.4.1

Great simple gym logI am new to weights and gyms and this simple app both reminds me what to do next and logs my progress..Version: 2017.3.1

Live HeavySetI use it everyday and keep coming up with new ideas and routines to use. Love it. Keep it up..Version: 2017.1.2

Great app for tracking workouts/progressHelpful way to plan and keep track of strength workouts..Version: 2018.6.1

Perfect for beginners and advancedPerfect to keep track of my workouts with the built in calendar. Lots of different features the other guys don't have, well worth the Money to buy it.Version: 2017.2

Well worth the purchase!I hesitated dropping $10 on this app but it was worth it. This app is a game changer for me. It has helped me add solidity, structure, and organization to my gym routine. It took me a little bit to figure out how the app worked but they have help vids that explain everything. The only thing I wished the app has was exercises without a rep count. For instance: plank 0:30+. Other than that, well worth the purchase. Get it now..Version: 2018.8.1

Unbelievably On Point - Best App I’ve Ever Used!!!Honestly - I cannot fault this app. It must have been created by a super nerd software engineer / bodybuilder, because it incorporates every relevant detail you can imagine, presented in a wonderfully simply and easy to you platform! It’s super confusing and overwhelming initially, so don’t bother trying to figure it out on your own. There is a link to a YouTube playlist of bite sized explanation videos that are super clear and concise. Worth the 10 min time investment, because only then do you really understand the epicness of this app!! Spent a good 45 mins inputting my weekly workouts, and now my gym time is blissfully automated and progressive overload easily tracked! Couldn’t be a bigger fan. Thank you!!.Version: 2019.2.2

Quality App worth the purchase imoPerfect for tracking any kind of lifts simply and see progression daily a lot of variables to play with could do with multiple profile feature for client tracking.Version: 2020.1

Has everything I needExcept an Apple Watch app I can use so I don’t have to carry my phone with me..Version: 2019.1

Great for intermediate and above liftersI’m pretty sure this is the only app that has RPE, automatic weight calculator based on intensity, automatic training max calculator, timer, tempo timer, all in one app. It even allows you to have multiple sets of the same workout at different intensities. There is no other app that does all of this, making it the best choice for all intermediate and above lifters who need these tools. There is a learning curve, and setting up your routine for the first time took a while, but it’s so worth it. It even allowed me to import my old data from the strong app. Definitely recommend this to anyone who’s workout complexity is high.Version: 2018.5.1

Finally.....I didn't think it would be hard to find an app that allowed you to create your own custom workouts and simply store your results to keep track of your progress but I was wrong. After trying several apps that made poor attempts to do just that Heavyset has finally made it easy. Setting up your routines, naming them, adding exercises and storing results couldn't be easier. Clear concise and easy to rectify if you make a mistake. Couldn't ask for more and I've been more than happy to recommend it to other gym users who've also come back to me to say how good it was. Well worth a fiver.Version: 2017.1.2

PhenomenalI’ve never left an app review in my 10 years as an iPhone user, but this app is too good not to praise the developer. It has the key features that I’ve always hoped for that other apps just don’t have. Namely, lifetime progress tracking displayed via graphs with the ability to view trends on volume, estimated 1 rep max, max weight. Workout interface is beautifully crafted, the timer is a game changer for accurately measuring rest periods, and it all just works in a simple and intuitive manner. A++++.Version: 2022.1.1

Very good app for recording weightsThe best app for recording weight training. Use it everyday. Many features & some I am probably not using but that’s more because of my lack of intelligence rather than the app. Recommend it if your weight training regularly..Version: 2018.8

Best workout app just needs a few fixesStill some bugs that need fixing before it’s 5* Could also do with a timer instead of reps for Calisthenic progression exercises. Then it would be near perfect..Version: 2018.8.1

This app is the best of the best - get it nowPLEASE make a Watch app. HeavySet is a 5 ⭐️ app no questions about it but PLEASE let us log our exercises on the Apple Watch. With a watch app I’ll give you that 5th star you so deserve, but for now, I’m giving you 4. I don’t want to take my phone to the gym. Heavyset is the very last reason I need to bring it and it’s a real pain..Version: 2019.3.1

Hoping their will be watch capability in the futureThe app is very simple and intuitive to use. When you want to tap into the hidden features of the app, the developer has provide alot of help in the form of videos. The only one gripe is that their is no watch capabilities. I know that developer can since his other app is able to. I just hope in the future, this feature becomes available..Version: 2018.5

Solid appI love this app and it’s flexibility but I have few minor suggestions that I think would make the app more functional. I wish you could be able to pin or place an exercise at the top of the progress section so I don’t have to scroll through all of the exercises to find one I am focused on. Also I wish it was easier to change mistakes when I accidentally log the wrong info instead of having to go through several screens to Change a number. Also I think it should be easier to write a note on the log screen like up weight or tough reps. On the whole this is a great app and would recommend to anyone..Version: 2018.4.1

Good dealReally great app for the money. Really intuitive controls and lots of options. Really pretty interface that’s fun to use..Version: 2018.6

Awesome workout Log!If you’re looking for a way to log your workouts for tracking and planning purposes, don’t look any further! Amazing... make sure to watch the video tutorials under the support tab. This will help understand how to use the app. It’s pretty involved and thorough and takes a little practice to master. But after setting up a few workouts, it’s very user friendly. Mid workout, you’ll be able to see past workout data for an exercise quickly and easily. You’ll be able to identify maximum reps for different weights used. You can setup supersets, giant sets, and more. Fantastic! A nice touch is the ability to also track your rest times, to ensure you at following correct rest periods, as well as monitor your tempo during an exercise..Version: 2018.4.1

The Best Weightlifting App!!!!Best app I’ve come across for tracking lifts. Has a really great, no nonsense UI which makes entering workout numbers very easy..Version: 2018.2.1

I’ve come to love the appHeavySet has become my go to app to log my workouts. I used to use Strong and tried out a few other apps, but since HeavySet was released, it’s the only app I’ve used to track my workouts. The UI is intuitive and organizing workouts is a breeze. The recent updates have only made it more compete with the addition of a plate calculator, which was the only thing it was really missing compared to the other apps. Minimal and beautiful, I enjoy using HeavySet during my workouts as much as I enjoy working out itself! Plus, for $5 to unlock all the apps features, it’s one of the cheaper, if not cheapest, paid apps with which to log workouts..Version: 2018.1.2

Love the app but fix the bugWhen I log a set or start the timer my music stops! Please fix xoxox.Version: 2018.3.2

Simple but not basic...Much like the other apps from these folks...has pretty much everything you want/need but in a simple to use manner. This is a great app for those looking to create, track and understand your own workouts not have something prepared for you...the ability to create supersets/circuits is great.... I regularly look at other workout logger apps nothing compares...this is simply the best..Version: 2019.4

Best By Far, Desktop Version?Love the app, have compared it to all other iOS before and heavyset really is the best, but I would love to be able to use it on desktop.Version: 2020.1

Better than 90% of apps I’ve tried.Have tried lots of apps for working out and making routines. This app is the best when it comes to editing your routines - you can add custom exercises as text no need to cross fingers hoping it’s in the database. This is a good text based gym tracker. I am also a lifetime subscriber which I think was a good deal for the ease of use and versatility of the app. I don’t mine supporting deserving engineers/developers (one myself). One aspect I don’t use is the effort %s mainly because IMO not sure how effective this methodology is and my minimal experience with the topic. Recommendations 2021: No major updates have been made to the app since 2018. More colors Expand supporting documentation for new users Notifications like reminders.Version: 2020.1

Great app - Would be awesome if there was cardio tooAwesome app - it would be great if there was a way to track cardio as well..Version: 2018.4.2

Good but need more volume categoriesHi, good app and great for tracking. One of the best I ha e used, but need more categories for tracking muscle specific volume groups... example “shoulders”, “hamstrings” & “calves” Would be to see this updated..Version: 2020.1

Powerful featuresI've been using and enjoying heavyset for a while, but just discovered adding multiple exercises to a group. I can then set a rest time on the last exercise, and the timer automatically starts when i get there! Makes it super easy to do some body weight workouts i've started recently. Very cool that i'm still learning new things about it!.Version: 2019.4

AmazingSimply the best app I have used for resistance training. Customisable and level of detail is perfect if you want to build custom workouts..Version: 2020.1

Best workiut log I have used.Exceptional simple and easy to use. Whilst being very powerful. Couldn't recommend it enough..Version: 2017.3

The Best!Paused my workout just to let everyone know how amazing this app is. Definitely worth the money (Fully customisable workouts) - I love everything about it!.Version: 2019.4

Great workout tracking appReally good app. Would be even better if it had more well know workouts preloaded onto it because it took some time to manually load my workout routine (PHAT) onto it..Version: 2018.6.1

Fantastic app for people who actually liftGreat work by the developers on this. I have tried probably every weightlifting app available on the App Store. Heavy Set beats everything else hands down. If you are a lifter, and you have a specific plan you want to execute, this is the app for you. Extremely flexible yet still a well thought out user interface. Great job!.Version: 2018.5

FantasticGreat app, does what it says on the tin, no messing and easy to use!.Version: 2019.4

Great app, a few suggestionsI love this app, but I have a few suggestions for improvement. I would love a music controller in place of the graph, would also like a better way to view comments from the previous weeks’ sets so I know how much weight I should plan on trying to lift for the current week. Thanks!.Version: 2020.1

Amazing level of customisationI don’t usually give reviews, but this app is next level. Much better than the competition, and worth every cent for the premium version..Version: 2022.1.1

Super Flexible App That Does It AllI’m very impressed with the flexibility of this product. You could use the “canned” workouts/settings in this app, but it provides so much more to tailor your workouts. Yes, this can be complicated. Yes, this can take some work on your part... but the alternative is that you are stuck with whatever the app gives you. You can make this app do what you want. My recommendation: set up what you think you want and use it for a week. At the end of a week, figure out what you don’t like and then go to the tutorial videos. There is most likely a setting you need to make or adjust. The only thing I don’t like about this app is that there isn’t a good way to track cardio (cycle/elliptical/treadmill)... but this might be outside of the scope..Version: 2020.1

1# appBetter than all the other fitness apps by a mile.Version: 2022.1.1

Why wasn’t I aware of this before?Switched from Strong to this. Totally worth it. Firstly, only a one off tenner outlay for full functionality - total bargain. Secondly, so easy to use and customise. Tells me exactly what I want to know and will show me only what I want to see. Deloader & calculator can’t be faulted. In short, this is an absolute must have app if you’re serious about the gym. Nothing else I’ve used comes even close to comparing..Version: 2020.1

PerfectI’ve used several other lifting apps, this one is by far the best in my opinion. Great for someone who does their own workout routines and tracks their progress regularly. Takes all the thinking out of the workout so that the only thing you have to focus on is the workout itself. Does all the math, keeps track of rest, previous workout weight/sets/reps for each exercise, etc. Really a great app. 100% worth the fee for the paid version..Version: 2018.7.1

So Easy to Use During WorkoutI’ve tried a number of workout log apps, but found that most were kind of awkward to use during the actual workout. (For example, trying to figure out how to make changes if your planned workout doesn’t go as planned). But this one really makes it easy to log your sets & make changes on the fly. Still exploring all the features, but it’s looking great so far!.Version: 2018.5.1

Really well made, everything I needI downloaded and tried most of what looked like the best apps out there but I have used this one now on an almost daily basis for a year or so. There are a small collection of apps on my phone that feel almost perfect and this is one of them. The timer, the supersets, the organization, the plate calculator and stats, so much packed in without feeling overwhelming while being intuitive and practical. I recommend it as often as I can and enjoy it as an essential companion at the gym. I gladly paid for it as it was well worth the money..Version: 2018.8.1

Subscription not workingLove the app but it will not allow me to see the upgrade costs from novice to intermediate or even purchasing it. It just has a constant loading bar within the app. Also can’t find anywhere within the app to contact the developer for issues or on the website? Would give higher rating except for these issues..Version: 2018.5

Very GoodLost some data at one point but for the most part, this tracks all my workouts in an efficient, reliable manner. Easily allows new exercises. progress is easy to visualize. Small fee for the version I am using. No promos. Wish I could give 4.5 stars..Version: 2018.6.1

Almost Perfect!Great app. Love working out with it. However, the app needs SEPARATORS! If you are training more than one muscle group in one day then it gets so messy :( please add more exercises too..Version: 2017.3.1

Simple, just what I’ve been looking forIf you know what you’re doing and want to efficiently capture your lifts, this is an excellent program. It seems like a simple app but getting the interface just right is tough as can be seen from the large number of training apps available. I’ve used several and find HeavySet really feels easier than my old beat up notebooks. After a few months use I’m still finding new subtle things that help me gauge my progress and help stay on track for volume and intensity gains. No they haven’t paid me to say this, but Apple should consider this for a design award..Version: 2019.2.2

By far the BEST workout loggerVery rarely can be bothered to write reviews, but this app is awesome. I'm a PT and love the gym. Typically I have stuck to using the old skool method of notebook and then updated myself to the modern age by using spreadsheets on my phone. This works great and always has done as you can lay out a workout properly using groups. For example exercise A and then B1 and B2 to denote a superset. Only downside is that it takes too long to input the data during a workout and is fiddly. This app uses the groups as workouts should be written and enables the user to make supersets, tri sets and giant sets easily. The design of the app is fantastic and the features are exactly what I wanted in an app. Have tried countless including the main ones like Strong and Reps and Sets but they just don't quite cut it and have always returned to my spreadsheet style. Will be sticking with this for now as it's just awesome. Definitely worth the £4.99 in app purchase after the trial period. Only complaint I guess is that the trial period is a bit short being only 24hrs. But in the end it's certainly worth the purchase..Version: 2017.1.2

Great tracking app, but room for improvementI really like this app, and use it to track all my gym workouts. It’s easy to use, has handy features such as plate calculator and pre-set workouts. There are however a few minor issues that I wish the developer would fix: * It doesn’t calculate calorific expense, so workouts are always logged as zero calories. A bad estimate would still be better than none at all in my view. * The graphs could be improved. I would like to see my set history as I workout, not just against the final exercise history. * Plate calculator always assumes I’m using my first bar, even if the numbers don’t work out properly * it should be able to track incremental updates from the previous workout (progressive overloading) If the above were implemented, this app would be unbeatable..Version: 2022.1.1

The best workout loggerAll of the features you need but none of the bs that you get with the other workout trackers out there. No subscriptions, just $9.99 and you are set for life. If you have no idea about what you are doing and you need pre-designed plans then you probably want to look elsewhere but this is by far the best app out there if you are past the learning phase..Version: 2019.2.2

AmazingMakes my workout routine so easy. Only fault of the app is, it isn’t available for Apple watch yet..Version: 2018.4.2
