✓ One of the most Fun & Engaging games I’ve ever playedLoved that the choices you make actually effect how the story advances. I had to play through three times, once because I died (oops), and again after I completed it just out of pure enjoyment (I wanted to make different choices lol). Found myself getting sucked in, imagining the story vividly, and even got me to read! Just a bonus perk to a great game. Will be downloading part two!! P.S. Part 2 allows you to continue the story, so make sure you save your game after completing it!.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Amazing storytellingThroughout the entire story I was deeply engrossed. You genuinely form emotional connections to the characters. The real world melts away and all you care about is being a loyal squire to sir Robert and saving the kingdom. I literally didn’t put my phone down for 3 days straight. 10/10. Sure there are a few grammatical and spelling mistakes but in reality it’s very easy to look past them and enjoy the great story.Version: 1.0.9
✓ Worth the purchase. ButI have had this for quite some time now and the replay ability is very high. Great story and characters and fun game mechanics keep the reader/player involved. My one criticism (which I hope is fixed in the next update) is that very often, at least for me, the game will close and I will lose all of my progress and be forced to start over. ✓ GoodThe story is poorly written for the entire first chapter and the thing is plagued with spelling and grammatical errors, I was tempted just stop reading in the first few pages but I endured and I did not regret it, the story was great and I couldn't seem to stop, I felt determined to marry the princess and save the Kingdom the whole way through. ✓ Best of its kindThis is an amazingly entertaining adventure. It feels like your choices matter and have consequence. The story is surprisingly long and builds up like a novel. Just like a good novel, I couldn’t put it down at the end and stayed up way too late to finish it. There are a few grammatical errors but only enough to be surprised when you find one. ✓ Absolutely BrilliantI couldn’t put the book down, you go through so many adventures and I loved the one vs one fighting as you make choices on how to fight. My winning score is 112 with high dark and wisdom rates and I got the main good two things I wanted in the game. Also laughed a number of times and I liked sir Roberts character a lot. ✓ Excellent GameWith an excellent story, with many little side paths to follow which promote re-playing, The Great Tournament is a great game to play to waste a couple of hours, with a certain degree of tension towards the end. Although I really enjoyed the game, I did not feel as though it is possible to really mess up your storyline, that is, that your choices don’t matter all that much in the long run. I would definitely recommend this game to really anyone, just a warning however, there is a very minute amount of swearing, which I, personally, appreciated. Thanks to the developers for such an enjoyable game. I fully intend on playing again to search through every possible outcome. ✓ Great game, needs to be re-polishedHuge fan of this game. Tons of text, and you feel like your decisions matter in a fun story. Get the free version with ads, I literally only had to watch like 3 ads in like 6 hours of playing. Quite a few typos but still a great adventure. ✓ Amazing GameI have been a fan of choice of games for a while when I picked up this game I expected the usual short story only interesting for a little while, but what I found was a gem. The story is absolutely great, and on par with many recent books. The characters aren't stale, the time period is amazing, living out a dream of being a valiant knight is a dream come true. Unlike most Choice of Game games this one felt like I read a whole novel now Realizing I spent hours reading this. I hope there is a part two, or a continuation some how, maybe even a book. Truly the most enjoyable experience I’ve been able to have In a long time and it’s a game!! ✓ Great Game, Great StoryThe Game was great, the action scenes with a lot of detail and imagery. It had a great mix of sadness and comedy, also a bit of romance. Sir Finch Cuthvell reminded me a lot of Malfoy from Harry Potter, atleast I think it is spelt Malfoy. I wish it continued into more diplomatic and war stuff after I was able to become King. I had also been quite saddened I also had the ability to learn Fire Magic and use it to burn that Finch alive, but I hadn't learnt the magic. Was it possibly from Ben, or do you need to learn from the Academy? I ended up marrying Hannah, but I was wonder what might've happened if I married Nadine or Ash.. I forgot her name, the scholar girl. I wasn't able to find this Abeline character though, I shall attempt to find him in my second run. Overall I had a great time playing this, very addictive, I did a run in about Five hours, and I didn't take any breaks. Great Game, hope another one like this is made..Version: 1.0.1
✓ This is the bestGiving the reader control over your character was the best idea they could have thought of for this story. Being able to personally guide yourself to greatness whatever that is to you and choose to help or abandon the friends that help along the way. This is the first story to really pull me in and make me feel sad worried or just pumped. I couldn’t put this down once I started, I’m not much of a reader but for hours straight I read the first time through. I must say that I was initially quite discouraged by the rampant spelling and grammatical errors, so much so that I nearly closed the game without giving it a chance. I’m glad that I didn’t. The game mechanics and character customization are among the most sophisticated I’ve ever encountered. What the author lacks in technical writing skills, they make up for in storytelling ability. ✓ Fun!But the ending was rushed, a year of doing things before the tourney and it is basically all for nothing. I don’t see the point of building your village, traveling around, buying an engagement ring or any of the other gear. A matter of hours doing all of this and then going to the tourney that seems like its so rng rigged you can’t lose. The beginning 3/4 was fun and enjoyable. ✓ By far, My favoriteI’ve recently gotten interested with interactive novels and this one in particular caught my attention, as I prefer to read medieval fantasy. I’ve seen some bad reviews that mention how it’s basically game over if your character dies. I, however, believe the point IS to have a permanent death system as it really makes you think when given a choice. Playing dangerously will often lead to consequences, and if you were that character you probably wouldn’t want to die. The story is great and I loved how it evolved over the choices you’d make but it may need a bit of polishing, via somebody reading over it and fixing certain spelling errors. Overall this was a good read and I’m certainly going to recommend this to a few of my friends..Version: 1.0.5

I did give it 5 stars but there are a few problems. 1. It’s kinda short. I beat it in 1 day (about 5 hours) only died 1 time 2. Really wishing there was end game content. I spent like 3,000 gold on a land you acquire for no reason. I could have bought awesome gear to make the end easier. Would be cool to be able to run the kingdom and do things like you do in redwood. 3. I bought the 4.99 pack cause I though it would add something. It don’t. ✓ Awesome Game!I first started playing text adventure games in 1984 with “Adventureland”. Despite a slightly different mode of construction and play, from those early games, this game brought back a lot of memories and gave me an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. It also reminded me a lot of Joe Deever’s Lone Wolf series that came out a few years later. I found the plot a gripping one and the story well-written. ✓ Just 2 thingsI loved playing this game! It’s a great story and definitely suspenseful! There are just two things that I would fix. 1) When Sir Borne is fighting Sir Malik Cuthvell, it says that the servant put something inside Sir Borne’s lance when it was obviously meant to be put in Sir Malik Cuthvel’s lance. 2) As it is right now, the award notifications pop up right when you move to the page where you read about your achievement, so that you know you’ve achieved something before you have a chance to read about it in the story. This kind of spoils the suspense of the story. I think it would be better if you could read about the achievement in the story first, click the “next” button, and then have the award notification pop up on the following page. ✓ Fun and EngagingHonestly when I downloaded this game I thought it wasn’t going to hold my interest well since I have a hard time focusing for long periods of time, but this game blew my expectations out of the water. ✓ THE BEST GAME EVERAs a 12 year old boy I never write reviews but this game is so special. I highly recommend this game as it’s story and plot is very engaging and was very hard to put down. The story never lacks adventure or excitement there’s always something new around the corner. From what I’ve read so far the attention to historical accuracy (specifically in armour) is spot on. Something I really have a pet peeve about is characters slashing through plate like butter but the writer clearly already has a big brain understanding of medieval gear. ✓ Interesting take on an adaptive storyThis is very familiar in concept to its videogame counterparts, but it kinda ends there. It’s great to have that idea of adaptive story in book form. Story is awesome, intriguing and keeps you coming back. Really like how subtle details can become important later in game. Really makes you feel your decisions matter. It has a (very) long storyline (at least for a visual novel) and an excellent plot. The stats system is also very well made. The only request I would have is the ability to undo choices, because I oftentimes hit "next" before selecting the choice I want. The replay value isn't great, but the storyline is long enough to make up for it. I couldn't play any other games for two days until I was done with my first playthrough, it's so good. You can level up different stats, have relationships with different characters. They can live, die, have different futures all depending on what you do. There are multiple different endings, and it’s all based on how you play. It’s just like a good ol’ fashioned tabletop, or even like games such as KOTOR. I’ll be doing these kinds of adventures for ages now, and if this author continues to write such masterpieces, God bless I’ll keep doing these. I started around 7:30 at night and COULDN’T STOP until I finished, which, thanks to this beautiful universe, wasn’t until 4. And he promises more. ✓ Awesome Story and GameSo I had been looking to get back into reading and while on the app store I stumbled across this. And from start to finish I loved every minute of it. If your into fantasy this is definitely something you should check out. The characters, setting, choices were interesting/great. Besides my character, Sir Robert was my favorite. Noble and funny. I very much enjoyed it. My imagination flourish like never before. Wanting to be a writer myself, it helped get my creative juices flowing. Since I have shied away from writing. I’m definitely getting back into my project now. Lastly, big big thanks to all involved in the making of this story. I was a pleasure to read. I also like how it references the swamp castle and how this book is written in the same universe but at a later time.
