All the Rings for Negative User Reviews

Doesn’t add valueRelative to just using the Activity app, it wasn’t worth the spend. Limited customisation and the alerts always lag behind my activity, making them not just useless, but annoying..Version: 2.1.0

HelpIt just kicks me straight off the app when i try to load it i’m sick of it.Version: 2.2.3

I don't get notifiedI love the idea of this app! However, the reason I downloaded this app (and subscribed for the trial) was to get more notifications to keep me aware of my fitness status for the day. I wanted it to push me to complete my rings....however I have not received notifications from my watch or my phone. 😔 Unsubscribing....I'm still on the trial but I don't want to be charged for something I can't utilize. This app appears to be very new and fresh... Please resolve these bugs before offering subscriptions..Version: 1.0.4

Doesn’t work.App installs fine and then crashes as soon as I open it. Used to love this app until it stopped working for me..Version: 2.2.3

Not workingI have enabled read and write but the app is still not showing any data.Version: 2.0.1

Not workingRings on my phone not updating.Version: 2.2.3

CainetapperDoes not work with voiceover.Version: 2.1.0

Change app icon feature not working. The icons look really aweaome! Can’t change them though. It applies but nothing happens.Version: 2.2.3

Waste of time :/The app’s complication doesn’t update on the watch unless you actually tap the complication??? Pretty pointless then. Better to stay with the pre-installed Fitness app.Version: 2.2.2

No new dataThere really is no new data presented. It is simply a more streamline view and presentation. I was hoping to get monthly totals and averages but you still get the same trends as with the regular Apple app, which are averages over time (90 days). I still did not see my total distance per month or total calories by month, I want to know this, like it has for the exercise section summarized by month, total and average....Version: 2.1.0

Good Premise, Horrible Battery UseI gave this app 1 star over lowest rating because it is fills a need that the default Fitness app for Apple Watch doesn't–keeping track of ring closing streaks. However, this thing kills my battery. I'm not sure if it's due to the ads or what, but this app caused 35% of my battery use just from background activity. To the dev, consider looking into whether your ads are causing this, as I've seen that in other apps despite having an iPhone 13 Pro. I believe some apps' ads may not be compatible with the iCloud+ private relay features or else with my Eero network's antispam (I don't have ad block enabled). The back of my phone felt very hot until I force closed this app. Within a minute or 2, doing nothing else, temperature is back to normal..Version: 2.2.2

App crashes immediately on openInstalled, opened it, asks to access HealthKit, I allow, app crashes. I open again after crash, and will not open at all and crashes. I delete app, reinstall, same story. Unusable..Version: 2.2.3

CrashCrash on iPhone 14 pro..Version: 2.2.3

The app keeps logging offI just installed the app and it asked for all primsions and after that the app keeps shutting off, and looks like the problem is with the app. Using it on iPhone 13 and watch 8.Version: 2.2.2

Could be betterI downloaded this to get specific totals for a specific amount of time. I can only do 30 days etc. Also no figures for totals. Shame.Version: 2.1.0

Cannot get the numbers to matchI have a Gen 1 Apple Watch and a IPhone 10 phone. I have been working out, use the rings technology to register indoor bike, indoor running, and indoor elliptical. I have notice over the past month or so, the inaccurate readings of each on the rings. Today, I rode 8.4 miles on my indoor bike and I barely hit 200 calories. Other days, I have had almost 400 calories. So, I’m not sure if it is thr app or the watch or the phone..Version: 2.1.0

Requires far too many permissionsI want to see my activity metrics on my watch, I don’t want this app to write to my Apple health data, but until I accepted all the writing permissions the app didn’t work. Then the complications don’t update often enough (not the app’s fault, due to apple’s restrictions) so I’ve uninstalled it. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who is concerned about privacy. Edit: Thanks for the response Dave. Once I got the “you didn’t grant permissions” message, your one chance to ask was already over. So at that point you gain nothing by forcing me to grant more permissions now. I don’t think the “apps can only request permissions once” argument holds any water as to why you demand every permission is granted. FYI, I granted them, then ungranted them and the app worked..Version: 2.1.0

Bad programmingThis app refuses to do anything unless I grant it access to write data to Apple Health. There is plenty the app should be able to do with read-only access, but the developer mistakenly made the app think it can’t do anything without write access. Please fix this so I can use the app to analyze my data. I have no desire to track workouts or enter new information using this app..Version: 2.1.0

No Night Shift Options!I’ve worked Nights (23:00-07:30) for 16 years and I’m essentially nocturnal. The bulk of my daily activity/exercise occurs between 21:00 and 10:00. I typically go to bed at Noon and sleep until 18:30-19:00. Based on the written descriptions, both on the AppStore and within the app, I purchased the top-tier “Fit For Life” Power Pack option - only to discover that there are no coaching/notification options to accommodate my schedule. I find this severely disappointing and a very poor user experience..Version: 1.0.9

Failure to connect to health and doesn’t workIt doesn’t work at all.Version: 2.2.3

Need write permissionApp looked neat but just won’t work if I don’t give write permission. You shouldn’t block the entire app if write permission isn’t given, but instead only the features using those permissions..Version: 2.2.0

Love the ideaThis App would be amazing if I received the notifications on my Apple Watch. I’ve turned on background app refresh (then off and on again) and made sure notifications were enabled. Please help before my trial period expires would love to subscribe to this app if it works as described! Thanks.Version: 2.1.0

ErrorThe app was extremely good but seems to have stopped some time in 2022 from updating itself from Apple health. It’s not helpful if you need to do specifically its workouts when with the Apple watch alone (no iPhone) but does record if my phone is in range so doing a workout at home.Version: 2.2.3

Verdict still outLove the concept of their app! Only thing is I don’t get notifications on my Apple Watch, maybe I’m doing something wrong. I have emailed the developer; hopefully I’ll get a response. I will update this review later, great app if I can get it working on my watch. Does it work with Apple Watch 3? Cancelled my subscription, I mainly wanted it on my watch. Hope the developer answer the watch notification issue..Version: 2.0.1

App crashes before even getting startedAs soon as I “turned on” all the options at the beginning and click continue, the app crashes. Can’t even use it cause every time I click on the app it crashes. Useless app so I deleted and won’t be redownloading, which I tried once to see if that would fix the issue and it didn’t..Version: 2.2.3

I don’t know how to allow access on my Apple Watch!I would change this review to 5 stars if I could figure out how to grant permission to app on my watch. It doesn’t seem like a bad app I just don’t know how to, I’ve checked my settings in privacy and everything checks out but it still ask for permission..Version: 2.2.2

Solid AppHighly recommend and provides a great level of visibility the default app tends obscure. Seems relatively stable even without an update for over a year. Hoping the dev is still active and is going to harness the power of iOS 14 (or I just wasted $25)! Will definitely bump to five stars if that happens. Update: Dev told me there was a new version coming “next week” and it’s been a month. Buyer beware..Version: 2.1.0

CrashesThis app crashes upon opening ?.Version: 2.2.2

Latency can kill...... my Apple Watch. It’s great in giving extra stats, and giving me somewhat useful complications. But the latency in updates is annoying. I was once ready to smash my Apple Watch for refusing to register standing, which given my disability is done at great personal risk... but of significant long term health benefit. Turned out Apple Watch had long ago registered the stand, while this app let the hour end claiming I hadn’t stood that hour. Other times I had wondered why move ring continued to slowly advance after a workout... and getting the goal completion before it showed up. The delay in updates is even more annoying since I paid for lifetime alerts... being told that I haven’t stood yet for the hour, when I in fact did gets old... as well as inaccurate move alerts... like recently it said I had done less than 50%, when I was far enough ahead to skip evening workout.... while September Challenge is to do workouts, I twisted my ankle to complete August’s challenge... so it’s been hard to keep my streaks alive.....Version: 2.1.0

App crashesThis version crashes immediately upon opening the app.Version: 2.2.3

Won’t openWhen I first purchased this app it worked great. Now it will not even open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the app still does not open. I have reached out to Apple and the seller and have got no response..Version: 2.2.3

What a joke!I typically do 2 sessions of bike riding in the morning, one indoor and one outdoor. The app flat out won’t acknowledge the outdoor cycle selection so if I want any credit towards exercise, then I have to set it as indoor cycle. Then after a short break, I do the actual indoor cycle and the app recognizes that. Today I only had time for one session in the morning so I did the outdoor and figured I could do an indoor session later in the afternoon hours, Wrong! I was on the indoor bike for 20 minutes and it won’t start recording activity. I stopped and started it repeatedly, but it is stuck on the last number of minutes from my morning session. So apparently, any change from your usual routine is too much for the app to understand! Unbelievable!.Version: 2.2.3

Does not work!I have downloaded the app three times. As soon as I give access to my apple Health data, it crashes and nothing else happens. Perhaps the developers have stopped updating the app and it’s components have become obsolete for newer phones..Version: 2.2.3

DisappointedI am out walking after having open heart surgery so I can’t run I am walking 3mph but that isn’t fast enough to move the exercise ring. This is very frustrating!!!.Version: 2.1.0

It deleted itPersonal I don’t like it it asked all this information I don’t feel comfortable to share it so I I deleted it and I feels like a nockoff off fitness.Version: 2.2.1

PrivacyIt is disappointing that the app will not work without granting permission to read and write all health data. It’s not clear why the app needs write access, but it will refuse to open if it isn’t given it. It would be much better if you could select what the app is allowed to view, and then the app will work with whatever data it has been given, rather than an all or nothing approach. Edit: thanks for the response. I understand Apple can only let you show the pop up once asking for permissions, but most apps get around this by not allowing you to do an action you haven’t allowed permission for. So in this case, not allowing you to start a workout recording and instead have a link to privacy tab in settings explaining that the app needs write access. This is how every other app I have installed deals with privacy permissions, rather than not opening without all permissions checked. As an example, Instagram app works fine without camera permission, unless you try and take a photo in which case it is a splash screen with a link to privacy in settings..Version: 2.1.0

Deleted!I'll stick to the old app on my old phone.Version: 2.1.0

Not accurateDid not record all my exercises for last few days. Correct on my app that is associated with my Apple Watch but not this site. So I’ll probably delete it. Don’t really need a copycat app that doesn’t work properly..Version: 2.2.2

Doesn’t work if you care about your dataThis app won’t work if you deny access to certain categories in Health, or if you block *writing* to your Health data. This makes it non-functional for people just wanting to see ring data and not grant broad access to other functions..Version: 2.0.4

PermissionsWhy is write access necessary if I’m only using it to read data? I don’t plan on starting workouts from this app, but it won’t work at all without write access..Version: 2.0.1

Never worksApp worked first time I opened on my phone, then had never worked, crashes as soon as you open it. Emailed the developers twice and never got a reply. Don’t bother with app..Version: 2.2.3

Nice app, alerts not so muchApp is awesome. Like the visualization of streaks. Watch widget is great to see at a glance if you’ve earned stand credit for the current hour. Power Pack in app purchase unlocks alerts. Sounded great as you can receive earlier alerts for standing. However, I have found that the alerts happen far more often than the settings I chose and are often incorrect (e.g, alert telling me I haven’t stood or moved around much when the watch complication shows my stand credit AND I used the watch app to record an outdoor walk during the same hour). If this can be fixed it’s a 5 star app and the in app purchases are worth it..Version: 2.0.2

Does not workI gave it all permissions, and it was still stuck on the screen for “Access Denied.” I have not even seen how the app would look. Then, it started crashing immediately upon launch. It never worked. It is useless. Do not waste your time..Version: 2.2.3

Refuses to run without unneeded permissionsI granted all permissions requested, except to write data to Health (I don’t need an unknown app writing garbage) and the app refuses to run. Shame, seemed like it had potential as a reporting tool..Version: 2.0.1
