Chineasy: Learn Chinese easily for Positive User Reviews

Love it, only learning because of app, but one suggestion.I love using this app. It is s fun way to learn Chinese. I had no intention of learning Chinese until I saw this app. I am at level 6 at the moment. The only thing I would suggest is that it’s great to be able to go to ‘review’ but there is only options of seeing the picture with the word. I would have liked for there to be only the word, so that I can test myself on previous levels. Or to have two review pages; one with picture clue and other without picture clue. But great work on this app..Version: 1.13

Good for reading and speaking!Very comprehensive and the review feature is fantastic. The only thing that is missing for a full 5 stars is more focus on the writing aspect of Chinese characters. The app already has a writing feature but it only appears in rare circumstances and is extremely under-utilized. Adding that writing feature as apart of the daily lessons or even as just an optional test for each character you learn would be perfect..Version: 4.17.1

NEED NEW LEVELS 😀Absolutely amazing content !! Itching for new levels !!!!.Version: 1.16

Professor SaqibExcellent app! Only one so far that made Mandarin accessible to me for the first time!.Version: 4.6.2

Amazing!!It engages you from the very beginning and leaves you wanting to learn more and more ! Just love it !!.Version: 4.21.9

SUPER AMAZINGThis app is amazing and The price doesn’t matter it’s learning after all 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😎😎😎😎😎😎😎.Version: 4.18.5

This is AMAZING!!I love this app so much, it really helps me understand the reasoning why the characters look the way they do, those little descriptions help a lot! The videos are also a very nice touch, they help you get more focused on the learning and give great cultural insight to the characters we learn. It’s so fun too, every day I get on this app I’m never bored! But I also have a few suggestions that I think would really improve the app: 1. Having levels dedicated to just pinyin, because I bet a lot of people would be confused when they heard “ren” as “Jen” it would be great if it could teach them how to make the sounds that don’t exist in English 2. A place where you can practice stroke order and/or write the characters you learn 3. A place where you can learn grammar because that is also an important part in learning a new language. Have a great day!.Version: 4.4.0

A very beautiful and effective way to learn ChineseI’ve tried many apps to learn Mandarin and this is my favorite one. For the first time I’m able to read the characters where I live and the Chinese I learned in the past is now making more sense to me. I’m constantly amazed how beautiful the pictures are. I purchased the lifetime subscription to this app and I think it’s the best investment I’ve made so far in my quest to speak and read Chinese. If I could give it a higher score I would. Thanks for making such a wonderful app!.Version: 4.22.5

Loving itI’m in level 3 and I’m loving this app. I have not been able to learn Chinese characters well at all… but with the explanation Of where the character comes from and the illustration it really helps me retain it! I like the review option too. I am trying to sign up for an account thought and it always says unable to process request. I don’t know what the issue is. I tried turning my veepeeen on and off, use both data and my local wifi, and nothing has worked. What could the problem be? I am prepared to pay the yearly membership as it’s the only way that has helped me remember my characters. It would be great if I was able to sign up soon! Thanks.Version: 4.15.4

Great for kidsMy daughter is learning so much from this app. Great idea, great execution and many great learnings..Version: 1.8

User friendly and effectiveI genuinely love this app. The images are such an effective way to make the symbols stick. I have only had it a week-ish so can’t speak to its long term effectiveness but I will update the review later. I add in a couple of other mnemonic techniques to learn the tone and pinyin and have found it all to be super effective at learning vocabulary. Would definitely recommend for those wanting to learn. The app itself is crisp and pretty as well as user friendly. The tests that let you revisit frequently wrong answers is also a great touch..Version: 4.15.4

It really is ChineasyI saw ShaoLan on a TED talk giving a speech about learning and teaching Chinese. I’ve often thought that learning Chinese Mandarin would be extremely difficult as an English speaker. Never in my mind would I have thought about learning a language the way she did. I was blown away by just how easy the language is to learn. Within days I was picking up words and understanding Chinese symbols. It really is just that easy and in a fun way too! In my mind, the most difficult language on the planet is now the easiest. The way you learn through playing it like a game with pictures, characters, spoken words, and puzzles is fun, entertaining, and absolutely brilliant! If you are thinking about learning Chinese this is the app for you. After the free trial you’ll most definitely buy the app to learn more! At 50 years old I never would have thought I’d be learning Chinese and having fun doing it too!.Version: 4.15.4

The best app. This format is the best for beginners. Remembering characters is hard, but the simple yet very clever system is great..Version: 3.1.6

Simply a beautiful way to learn chineseThis is just a beautiful, well cared for chinese learning app which I think can compliment anybodies chinese language learning. It is pretty much a flash card system but with so much more and done in an artful way. You can feel there is a labour of love bhind this app and that, in itself, makes this app unique. Highly recommend it!.Version: 4.28.2

Good, but would like to practice writingJust picked up the app today, took some Chinese in school but haven’t used it for years. This app is great to get back into it! I am considering subscribing, and I don’t do that for many apps. However, It would be nice if we could swipe with our finger to practice writing the character over a template. Maybe being able to write it on a blank background to test our writing. It does not need to use OCR if that is too much of a challenge, as long as the symbol is shown after we try to confirm ourselves if we are right. Also agree with the other reviewer about switching between traditional and simplified. The simplified forms are usually in the small text box but there should be an option to switch as the main character. Many places use simplified over traditional in practice..Version: 1.17

Good but limited w/o premiumThe first eight levels are very helpful. Unfortunately, the ninth and above require a premium plan (2 dollars a month or 20 a year). This isn’t overpriced or outrageous or anything, but it is very different from what I thought. Before downloading, I saw the In-App Purchase for premium and I thought that was for ad-free stuff or bonus content. Good news: there are no ads either way. Bad news: most levels are premium only. I understand the makers have to make money, but perhaps more open info (“get your first eight levels are free”) would be better. Another option is to have a small price for the app it’s self (maybe five dollars or more; the app is really useful) TLDR, it’s a good app, I just wasn’t expecting the sudden Pay-To-Continue, though it is inexpensive..Version: 2.0.9

Helps so much! I have a suggestion, thoughThis has helped me learn a lot faster. Now I can recognize words, which is one step closer to reading sentences. I would like the option of reviewing cards and writing the words. I would also like to be able to make collections of cards that I find difficult, either because of how they look, or because their pronunciations are similar. For example, right now I am able to read, but if I am having trouble with a word that I remember the meaning of but not the pronunciation, I can’t write it to ask. This is a huge problem..Version: 4.15.4

Great appI am 3- and still really enjoying using this app to help build up my Chinese basics. I was very happy that they included traditional characters! Thanks!.Version: 4.3.3

Nice graphicsBeautiful and fun simple app. Makes learning very easy. I like reading the descriptions of each character, having the little story helps me remember so much better. I wish there were more ways to review the already learned note cards. It would be nice if they could be shuffled into a random order and if there was a way to track the progress of each cards with tests. As of now, the app is very simple and I’m not sure if I will pay to continue using it. It’s also very annoying that the price is subscription instead of flat rate..Version: 1.0.2

Neat conceptThis is a neat concept and I like the use of real audio, but the audio volume needs to be increased..Version: 3.0.4

Great app but needs some workThe app is very aesthetic and the lessons are very intuitive easy to remember, but it needs to be bug tested as there are some problems with audio and navigation..Version: 1.19

Great App, Hope it ImprovesThis is a lovely app to jump in and start learning Chinese characters. It works especially great for me because I can understand spoken Mandarin but cannot read or write. My biggest hope is that the developers add a quiz function to the reviews. In the current iteration of the app, quizzes are only available at the end of each ‘unit’. It would be really nice to quiz myself on everything I’ve learned so far, especially if the program could identify and focus on words that I seem to struggle with..Version: 1.16

Ni an wo maGreat app. I was using a year ago but lost interest. My Mandarin interest came back so I signed up again. They made some really nice upgrades to the learning platform that challenges me more and helps with retention. I have a formal language course I follow but Chineasy is a perfect supplement to the formal course because I can use it on the go and am able to add to my vocabulary daily. During break times I go to the app to practice instead of wasting time surfing the web. I highly recommend.Version: 4.22.7

Simple effective!!A beautiful app, that is simple and very easy to understand. I love how there are drawings that represent the characters and gives an explanation. I highly recommend it! The reason why I didn’t rate it 5/5 is because it would be great if the quizzes gave a bit more of a challenge, their not bad, but I feel the quizzes are too short and so it doesn’t enforce that learning. This is just a thought (note I haven’t gone to far into the levels so I could be greatly wrong) but it would be great if there was a section that taught grammar and how to write. Regardless, a great app!.Version: 1.1.1

A few suggestionsIt's a beautiful app, but I do have a wishlist... - every so often, could it retest on words to make sure you're retaining things? I know there's a review section but it's a little clunky to go through. - can you make it so that you choose what side the cards start on? The pictures give away the meaning for many - is there any other content that could be mixed in to diversify the levels?.Version: 1.6.1

Love it, but...So I met this girl over the summer who had just moved here from China, and she barely spoke a word of English. We tried communicating using a translator, but things would get lost in translation, and not to mention the fact that it took so much time to type out what you wanted to say. I discovered Chineasy and was thrilled at how quickly I picked up those first few words. I loved the app execution and being a strong visual learner, this app taught me stuff way faster than Duolingo. But then I realized that I had to pay to continue using it, and my heart was broken. I’ve been using my allowance to pay for it since March, and I am learning Chinese quickly. However, I would love for the weekly fee to be just a tiny bit cheaper, like by a dollar, just so that I can use my allowance for other things. I just have a few suggestions: - upgrades! If we could buy cute outfits for our little character and set the theme, that would make it so much more enjoyable to play. - voice recognition! Sometimes I don’t know if I’m pronouncing something correctly or not, so maybe in the next update you could add a feature where you have to speak to the phone to pass the level. - playlists! I would love to be able to categorize my words so I could review them all at a time, or have it quiz me. That’s all for my suggestions, and thanks to you guys my friend and I can communicate easily now! ♥️♥️♥️.Version: 2.0

Amazing when I use it but...There should be a reminder 4 using it so u can remember to use it because it is a great app. It’s very helpful especially since I have lived in China for a few years and may go back but I lost most of my Chinese tho i didn’t know much anyways. It is very easy to cheat so I haven’t learned anything yet but the app is fun. The way u can cheat is when u get to the questions you can just go back and look at the answers, also the creators should make an update where they should set a time for studying and then lock when someone gets to the questions so they can’t look back. Thank you for reading my review if its either a person getting the app or the creator if it’s the creator then I would love it if you could look into my ideas thank you, also, if you could add some more words thank you. You should get this game!!!!!!.Version: 1.3

多谢了!It’s really useful for me to approach Chinese because the image is cute and help me to remember longer. It doesn’t make me feel bland. However, i think this app should have Writing session because i’m not sure about the order of writing strokes. By the way, thank you a lot!.Version: 3.1.1

Impressive app!I am a complete beginner to learning Chinese and Chineasy is the perfect method and balance of learning a new language in a fun and relatable way. It is methodical, logical and explained so well that I really understand what I am learning. And if you understand it, you remember it. With Chineseasy, I really understand it. It sinks in! Thank you so much Chineasy, I love your app and all the extra learning tools that you provide for us to help with our learning journey!.Version: 4.25.0

Great appAwesome. Download the podcast too. Great for listening to some getting ready for the day.Version: 1.16

Grammar?Great app. Makes it very easy to learn new words. Can you add grammar and sentence structure in the future?.Version: 1.2

Really greatI’m not at the point where you pay money (if you even have to), so this is very good. Way of teaching let’s me not forget everything instantly. Recommend if you’re trying to learn Chinese.Version: 1.13

Amazing appDefinitely an app worth paying for! I love being able to practice drawing the characters and the pictures to help remember the words were so genius and helpful. I also love the podcasts. Everything about Chineasy is amazing I’m so impressed! Though I was a little upset that after only 8 lessons I had to purchase more lessons. Since I am only a child I do not own a credit card to pay for more lessons, but while I convince someone to purchase more lessons for me I can review the words I already learned so it is still very beneficial to me..Version: 4.20.3

Very good appI lo❤️e it sooo much!!!! I don’t understand why you always have to almost force us to pay 💰 so that we can do quizzes. This is kinda bad, so pls fix!!!!.Version: 3.1.6

BEST APPIve been studying Chinese for a while and this is by far the best app i have found i highly recommend it!!!!.Version: 2.0

The new Chinese RevolutionI picked up Chineasy (the book) in an airport. I’ve raved about it since turning the first page. Chineasy Cards revolutionises Chinese language learning!.Version: 1.0.1

Very good app to visualize the language. This is a marvelous app. Definitely recommend this to others. Please make an option to have a test for us on all words we learned so far. It is better to show the plain text without visual to see if we remember. But, please put an option to show a hint by showing the visual behind the text if we need it..Version: 1.2

Fun learning tool but it can’t teach readingThis app is great for learning individual Chinese symbols but it won’t teach you Chinese grammar. I had to sit through two years of Chinese class in college and another semester in Shanghai China on study abroad in order to build my fluency in Chinese. Where this app succeeds is in allowing you to learn how to identify Chinese characters. If you tap want to Chinese character you can also hear it pronounced. Unfortunately this app can’t really teach you the proper pronunciation of words nor can it teach you grammar because it does not allow you to use the words in Chinese sentences nor does it allow you to follow the placement of symbols in a complete sentence..Version: 1.1.1

Amazing but…Reading all the things people have said made me feel that it is a really good app but not perfect. If I would give a advice, it would be to allow microphone and make a shop for people to visit. Each time they practice their Chinese they will get coins. When you have enough, you can go to the shop and buy a pet. The pet will help you do your Chinese. Still, very good app and creative..Version: 4.21.5

Only 4 LEVELSIf you go with the normal path where you don’t need to use your money it’s only just four levels why, please add a little more levels to the free path.Version: 3.7.0

So easySo easy and simple explains every part and reason why the characters are that way. Little steps of every level not too much just enough to see if you want to continue or stop. Just amazing ! Thank you ☺️.Version: 3.0.4

Create testing! This app would be perfect if it included tests for everything learnt after a set number of levels to make sure we are retaining what we learn! I particularly like the spaced repetition model used for review in the HelloChinese app..Version: 1.14

Love itIt’s really good! I learn so much and It’s been like 3 days thank you for this app, I like the fact that we can know more about the word when we turn the card ^^!.Version: 4.25.0

Great app and a great way to learnI was a fan of the book and I have found this an incredibly useful follow on to re-enforce the learning from that. It has been great to have a version I can take with me for the train journeys and hotel stays, allowing me to continue my education. The app looks great and has run on my device without issue..Version: 1.0.2

CuteCute app for me to learn reading as a Chinese-born Canadian who can’t read or write that well but can speak quite fluently. Low commitment since levels are short and easy, good price. A few suggestions; when reviewing cards, it would be great to be able to change views of the deck of review cards to be all plain so I can go through and see if I remember without any aid. In addition, it would be great if there was a feature that let me select words I’ve already looked at (or if the customization is too much even just all the words I’ve already looked at) and test me on them. I feel like even if words can be combined for different meanings eventually I’ll forget some, and sometimes I want to mass-review quickly rather than learn new ones. Edit: biggest drawback is that it teaches you to read some words in traditional and some in simplified. As someone learning, it gets pretty confusing..Version: 1.2

Fun!Since I bought both Chineasy books by Shailan Hsueh— Chineasy; Chineasy Every Day, I also downloaded this electronic app to learn these same pictorial characters! Very fun!.Version: 1.6.1

I love ChineasyI absolutely love Chineasy. Only one suggestion would be adding more free lessons. I am still living at home and can’t pay for it. Maybe people could watch ads to unlock lessons? Otherwise absolutely amazing Chinese learning app..Version: 4.20.4

ChineasySo easy to learn the pronunciation and script. Best tutorial I have experienced..Version: 1.2

Very good but I’m confusedCan we not go after level 9? I’m only 13, how am I supposed to pay for this app 😭 it’s expensive.Version: 4.30.7

It is indeed Chineasy!I’m pretty useless when it comes to learning languages, I’ve learnt Chinese before when I lived in China, after 10 years I’m back and this app has made learning the lingo a far easier experience than previous. My 10 year old daughter loves it as well and is learning Chinese quicker than her dad! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this app as the interface and teaching is both logical and easy, a 5. star application for sure!.Version: 4.15.4

Great way to learn Chinese! What a great idea. I have a Mandarin book/audio course but hardly made any progress. This app not only teaches you wods with pronunciation but also Chinese characters and makes it easy to remember - love it. Please can we have one for Japanese?!!.Version: 1.1

So goodI love it. Being a visual person, this helps me immensely!.Version: 1.4

Great app for Visual Learners!I’ve been trying different apps to learn Chinese and I think this is a great app for memorization and learning new characters. My only feedback would be that in the traditional quiz, provide the traditional version of some characters when quizzing about the pinyin or definition (and same for simplified)..Version: 2.0.9

10/10 would recommendI graduated studying mandarin at uni a few years ago and it’s been tough keeping my Chinese up to scratch. The visuals and friendly UI make this the perfect option for me to help keep my language up to scratch. Worth the purchase.Version: 4.15.1

One slight problemI downloaded this app with the intention of learning Chinese for free with ads on the app. I went from level one to four and thought it was perfect, however at level 5 you have to then pay to carry on. I feel this isn’t very well advertised and although is a worthy purchase could sway people from the app. Overall the design and Quality is perfect. Of course apps need to make money however if you want to learn Chinese without having to pay then this app is not for you.Version: 3.1.6

Great app but needs a review testLove the app. The insight into the characters and the pictures help make remembering the hanzi much easier. However, I wish there was an interactive review test that we could take that would quiz you on random characters, instead of having to review the words ourselves, or revisit lessons to take the tests. I believe having an overall test that quizzes you on random hanzi based on the lessons you’ve taken would def help in learning, reinforcing, and memorizing them. Would give five stars guaranteed if this was implemented..Version: 1.16

The best 💯This app is amazing ! It’s quite hard to find a good language learning app especially for Chinese. You can tell the developers of this amazing app have put time and effort into it and the lessons are really thought through. It’s quite hard to remember the characters and the writing system so they made it so that you can remember the spelling with pictures. It really focuses on the spelling, punctuation, grammar, tones, characters and writing structure which is really beneficial. It also already unlocks 200 levels for free !!!! which is really good. Overall I would rate this app ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ I recommend this app to everyone even if you are a total beginner like me. Thank you for making this app it is really useful :).Version: 4.5.0

Close!!!Like some other reviews, I wish there were some much needed feedback or review mechanisms. In the word list review, the tile interface makes it difficult to find what you’re looking for. It would be great if there were a way to group by level range or theme. I would also love to see some sort of pronunciation coaching or guide to explain some of the initials / finals that are challenging for westerners. When combined with other apps (I use Memrise, Pleco) and study guides (HSK etc.) Chineasy is a useful supplement. As a stand-alone tool, however, it is extremely limited. I have upgraded my subscription, but I hope to see a rapid deployment of feature sets that compliment the Chineasy learning method..Version: 1.0.2

YeahIm māori and learning this language so ican talk to poeple whereever and whenever.Version: 2.0.3

Really goodIts really addicting but i only got 8 levels' it would be nice if I could have a few more levels.Version: 1.11

I really love this app but I got locked out of my accountI really enjoyed Chineasy but I got locked out of my account and it appears the developers won’t reply to my emails..Version: 4.21.2

Love it!I think it’s an absolutely brilliant way to start learning Chinese. I learn better when I understand the philosophy and logic behind the particular topic and with this method it’s super easy to understand and memorise the basics. I am totally in love with this learning method. Chineasy got me really excited about studying Chinese..Version: 1.9.1

Great for memorising 汉字This app is a wonderful way to learn and memorise Chinese characters, while also learning about their origin. It’s been the missing piece in my learning!.Version: 4.20.1

This is too perfect 🥰🔥At first I wanted to learn Chinese but I was thinking it would be IMPOSSIBLE. The characters look so hard and complicated but with this app, I just installed and am now obsessed, it makes so much sense and it actually has a good way of remembering instead of just throwing words and expecting to remember. I’m taking my notes lol. Anyone wanting to learn Chinese this is such a must. Like this is the easy free way and it’s just perfect. I can’t recommend it enough.Version: 4.30.6

Awesome Learning Tool!! 👍👍😀😀This is the best learning tool/game in the world, but there is something about this game that I am not so happy about. The one thing is that you have to pay $2 a month, which is pretty good, right? But then like after you complete all the levels that have been added to that update, you just have just spent $2, and you have nothing to do after that. Overall this is the best learning tool in the world, and I will never stop using is ever in my whole entire life!! 😀👍👍😀. And I am learning so much Chinese with this learning tool/game. Good work, and never stop making updates with more levels to make people happy. 👍 Keep going!!.Version: 1.0.2

TitleI think this app is great! The images are super memorable and creative. I love the captions for each of the words but often wish they were longer and more descriptive about the definition, as not every word can be directly translated to English as it's displayed. I'd also like clearer categorization on the subject of each lesson and an easier way to practice earlier lessons all together. It'd also be helpful if among possible answers are other words being learned in each lesson in order to challenge the user more. I'm enjoying using this app and was surprised how quickly I could identify Chinese characters in other bodies of text..Version: 1.20

Great but...I think this is a great app so great job making it but I am very poor and I think the preumium should be free otherwise I am deleteing this app.Version: 1.8

Annalise 您好❤️🧡💛💚💙💜很喜欢💕!Though I cannot pay for it,but I’ve done it before and I already know how to speek Chinese and it’s a bit slow but I like it ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🇨🇳.Version: 1.18

Apprentissage ludique du chinoisLa méthode visuel et audio et les questions à la fin de chacun des modules renforcent la rétention des mots appris. Les questions alternent entre le visuel et l’audio. Chaque module peut être fait en moins de 5 minutes..Version: 4.15.4

My favourite app of all timeChineasy is just marvellous. I subscribed about seven months ago and have been using it daily ever since. They keep adding more features, like handwriting practice and voice recording. There is a large library of short videos and podcasts that are super helpful, wherein the creator, Shaolin, focuses on a topic, like "Six common uses of 上 (up) and 下 (down)." And you can take quizzes on words you forgot, or words in a certain category (like verbs), or all words. And, of course, it's just a beautiful app. It's got so much content, yet is clean and uncluttered. I still remember opening the app for the first time and learning the word 人. My ambition now is to be able to read classical Chinese poetry. Although I originally paid for the app on a whim, it's a whim that has definitely paid off..Version: 4.26.0

Second year in ChinaThe strong emphasis on the Chinese characters as opposed to the pinyin helps a lot with reading. The way the characters are introduced in a logical way and there is some back story given about their creation really helps with memorization. The app is also very forgiving and allows you to fix your mistakes..Version: 4.20.1

Amazing appI’ve only just started and I cannot leave my phone until I have something else to do. It’s so addictive and makes me want to learn more and more! I hope that one day I can visit China and actually communicate. If I could put 6 stars I would. :).Version: 4.21.0

Learning Chinese is easy peasy!Great way of learning Chinese characters and I love the exploring part of the app. I am finding when watching subtitled Chinese that I am recognising the individual characters and the different tones!.Version: 4.15.3

Wow!This is a fabulous app! I never usually write reviews but this is thoroughly deserved! I am completing a spoken Mandarin course before I move to China next year. I found your app today and I am so happy I did! I am really impressed at how easy this app makes it to learn Chinese characters. Wonderful! Xièxiè.Version: 2.0.7

Amazing! It makes Chinese easy and if you didn’t know it’s the hardest language in the world to learn as a 2nd language! No adds super easy I turn on a poem sometimes and I fall asleep in 5 mins! Would recommend if you want to learn something new!.Version: 4.17.0

HelpfulI married a Chinese woman and I’ve been trying to pick up a little bit of the language. My mother bought the book for me and I have downloaded the app and I found it easy to use and somewhat entertaining. The short explanations and the combinations of drawings really help lodge the characters into my memory. I haven’t gotten very far into it yet. My guess is it’s not going to make me fluent but it gives you a good basic understanding of the characters. A solid building block..Version: 3.7.0

Great systemThis is a great system for learning Chinese characters. They are organized in such a way that you see how the meanings of certain words in Chinese are logical from the composition of the two characters. I don’t like the short multiple choice quizzes at the end of each module. Only one or maybe two of the choices is relevant to that section so it’s not challenging and seems like a waste. However, the developer is smarter than me so maybe she knows something I don’t..Version: 3.5.0

Stop adding useless words I’ll never use.I don’t care about learning words like witch, wizard, magic spells, and other useless words. This is not helping me learning the language, it’s just wasting time. It doesn’t make things more fun. Other than that, the app is good..Version: 4.26.1

Thanks #guiltfempod - Great plug!Listened to ShaoLan on #guiltfempod - thought I’d try the app and found it really good. Thought that the tonal pronunciation and characters would be impossible but the stories and logic behind them make it accessible to learn. My 12yo has now got up to lesson nine and learnt 37 words and is loving it! Thanks #guiltfempod - Great plug!.Version: 1.1.1

Awesome!Fun app..Version: 1.18

Great explanationsGreat app! Beautiful simple drawings and a smooth interface. But it's the little explanations of meaning/character that really make this special - they are worth their weight in gold in fixing the words in my mind. An app made by people who want me to learn - not just give me their money..Version: 1.0

Easy to learnI am really enjoying learning this way . Picture references really help me remember great app..Version: 1.1.1

Very helpful got visual learnersExcellent learning method! Well done!.Version: 2.0.3

Great but...I have 2 down sides.😕 I started using this app a few days ago and I immersed myself into the app. But when I passed level 8 I couldn’t do level nine with out paying but that is fine for me because I have the availability to do it. The second down side is that the app itself take immense amounts of storage and I don’t have the storage for the app. Other than that, this app is great for any concept in Chinese😜. I love it so much😍 再见!!!.Version: 4.7.0

The BestI haven’t enjoyed learning characters this much ever before. I didn’t know learning chinese could be this fin and easy. Thanks for introducing such a user friendly method for foreign learners..Version: 3.7.0

Love your work.Learning Chinese on 1688 was one of the hardest and time consuming things I’ve ever done for my business, But thanks to SHAOLAN HSEH and this app training was simplified and made easy to remember. Thank you:) KAL K..Version: 1.20

So fun, I am amazed!I am not sure this app will help people to speak Chinese (maybe I did not go far enough) but will definitely help to acquire new words! I wish we could have the same for Japanese. Thank you for this wonderful work..Version: 1.18

Wow, just wow :|My dad always wanted me and my little brother to learn Chinese, and when he found Chineasy, learning Chinese felt so much more entertaining! I love this app, especially the small blue character they include! I recommend downloading this app..Version: 4.20.1

This app is amazingI had tried learning Chinese at a few different courses but none were very helpful and got very overwhelming. but with Chineasy they made helpful pictures out of the Chinese words making it way easier to work and remember and it lets you go back over previous work and work at your own pace. but my only problem is the fact that you have to pay for quizzes.Version: 2.0.8

LOVE ITMy command of Chinese has grown by leaps and bounds since I’ve included Chineasy into my daily routine- I’ve only had the annual subscription for about a week and a half and I already know about three hundred characters. My wife also loves the app and we’re planning on buying the books to supplement what we’ve learned. The sole item on my wish list for this app includes a more robust quiz- even a basic “hey bud, you got these characters wrong” prompt after a quiz would go a long way toward helping someone decide what needs to be reviewed and practiced. To the dev: Thank you for this wonderful app..Version: 3.0.4

Fantastic!I am moving to China so I needed to learn Chinese. This app is easy, fun, and makes it easy to understand!.Version: 3.8.1

In-depth but Chinese made EASYFrom a Chinese background, I can safely say that this is a very useful and interesting tool to supplement my current knowledge of characters with cute imagery, and back-stories to each character’s make-up. Notwithstanding, it has expanded my understanding of words I already know!.Version: 1.12

Great!Into lesson 90, doing about 1-5 lessons a day for the last few months. it’s simple, motivating, and rewarding to see how things connect. As a visual learner and using symbols or analogies for recall, this app really leans into that. There isn’t much direction in terms of ideal practice methods, but I found this is my process: 1. Start with the SRS review 2. Make a custom lesson of the words I didn’t catch in the srs as well as some other notibly hard ones 3. Move onto new lessons I repeat this every time I open the app, to ensure that I’m not only learning new words but remembering them well each day!.Version: 4.23.1

The app is the best Chinese learning tool out thereI’ve been a fan of the Chineasy series for ages, and have the books. When I saw they had an app, I was sceptical about how good it would be - but they have done a great job. Fun, engaging and interesting..Version: 1.0.2

Great4 stars because I only use for like 10 minutes but I find it really useful, especially for beginners.Version: 1.10

Not afraid of characters anymoreMemorising Chinese characters used to be my nightmare but not anymore!!! Just love it..Version: 2.0.3

Mixed bagSome of the explanations are weird if not useless. Often these seem to be made up by people who do not even bother to check the origins of each character. The mix of traditional and simplified makes little sense: having a choice would be more sensible..Version: 1.7

Why I like Chineasy cardsI like Chineasy cards because it is fun and you can learn about Chinese.🤣😍😜.Version: 1.19

Great Concept, Lacking External Features, Needs Money at Level 9I don’t have a lot of money to spend online and I am trying to learn Chineasy (中文) as easy as possible. When I tried this app it’s definitely a great concept, however many features are lacking such as the feature of pinyin or actually typing the word. I think when you get somewhere to level 9 they make you pay and there are many free sources that I have utilized instead. In conclusion if you are just trying to read Chinese then you should get it..Version: 1.17

Chineasy is the best app.I watched a Chineasy video on YouTube and found the whole idea a really interesting and a fun way to learn Chinese. Well after trying this app, I can truly say it’s the best “learn Chinese” app available on the app stores. It’s so much fun to learn Chinese!! I am loving this so much.Version: 1.13

Wonderful and funMy son and I like to play together..Version: 1.2

Amazing! So far, I love this app!! Have never found such a good language learning one..Version: 1.2

Fun and informativeGreat app for learning Chinese. The illustrations really help when leaning the characters. I would like to see a properly implemented scoring system to help with recording my progress though..Version: 4.28.2

EnjoyableI enjoy the lessons very much. They are the perfect length for me to follow along little by little. I only would hope in the future they allow an option to also add our own custom notes for each word or character because sometimes i get other ideas in that moment of how to remember a character or word and i’d like to be able to archive them directly in the app. Kinda like the feature that kindle uses when reading books. But not a big deal as i’m improving every time more and more as I go through the lessons now that i’ve actually been more consistent than before..Version: 4.15.0

Clever app!I honestly never thought I’d be able to learn mandarin on my own, but my 11 year old daughter who is high functioning autistic and I used this app and were able to pick up many of the “words” or characters quickly thanks to the beautifully simple illustrations!.Version: 1.19

Super easy and fun!Well done to the developers of this programme. This is very easy to use and really helps me to remember what I learn. I’m really enjoying this..Version: 4.18.5

A great app but it needs improvementsI love Chinese, but it needs some improvements. First of all Chineasy needs a way for you to write down Chinese characters and see if you got the writing correct. Also Chineasy needs a way for you to speak Chinese characters and receive feedback. I would also like it if there was a feature that would allow you to translate the sentences you have learned to reinforce the language. Lastly Chineasy needs a way to review the characters that you have learned every 10 lessons or what is appropriate for the situation. Overall I am very pleased with this app and it will get better throughout time and I’m excited to continue my learning through Chineasy. If you want to learn Chinese use Chineasy!.Version: 1.0.1

Great AppThis is definitely something that has helped me grasp and identify characters far easier. Something I’ve struggled with since I began trying to learn Chinese and I’m able to actually retain the information given. My single issue is only something to do with accessibility. As someone with a visual impairment I find the exercises for writing the characters difficult as there is such a low contrast between the background and characters, so it is hard to see where the lines are..Version: 4.26.2

Great and fun way to learn Mandarin!I am 13 years old and I am learning mandarin and I love it! Chineasy has to be the most educational and fun way to learn Chinese characters! The illustrations really help you to visualize the meaning and it makes the characters seem more familiar than foreign! It’s incredibly addicting and I always look forward to using it! There were a couple of things I think could be better but overall it is a great app! First off, it switches between traditional and simplified and it’s very confusing to read something in Chinese and to only understand some because it’s either in simplified or traditional. Also I think the quizzes at the end of a level should be harder as I can easily pass through it without trouble but I can’t remember the characters an hour later. And finally there should be a review quiz that you can take when you want and it gives an overview of all the characters you’ve learned and it tells you what levels you need work in. Overall, this app is brilliant and the most fun way to learn Chinese! -Teague Rodriquez.Version: 1.4

Fun app!I love the app as I knew a lot of pronunciations but never knew how to read anything in Mandarin. The only thing I would love to be able to change is the really loud noise when I answer a question correctly. I need the volume up a bit to hear the pronunciation correctly, but the beep is more than twice as loud! I have to practice at work with headphones because of the beep and through headphones it’s not just loud, it’s deafening. Other than that, best app I’ve used out of at least a dozen for teaching characters!!.Version: 2.0.3

The best way to help with Chinese vocabulary!I love this app, I tell all my colleagues about it! I’m living in China at the moment and it’s helped me so much. I learn about the history of the characters and the symbolic meaning of this special language. One suggestion though - it would extremely helpful if the pinyin were on the “front” of the flash card with the English word and picture. Some of the time, I see a character and I know the English word but not the Chinese so I’m not about to speak it in Chinese. I can see the picture and character in my mind, but I just can’t remember the pinyin! Thank you!.Version: 2.0.8

Great app for beginners!Always wanted to learn Chinese, started off with numerous apps but could never learn how to read the actual writing! Now I think with this app and persistence I will most definitely be able to do it!.Version: 1.0.2

Great app!I love this app, it’s so helpful for learning Chinese! I have one suggestion though, how about making allowing the podcasts to be saved to the watch app, so people can listen to them while running or doing exercise?.Version: 4.1.2

Great but too slow to expandThe books are great, but the app was my way to learn while travelling. The app should be ahead of the books, no, and accelerate. Also, CANTONESE, pronunciation would help us living in HK, especially if traditional characters are taught....Version: 3.1.4

Well MadeI’m Chinese by blood but I was born in Canada, this has made learning Chinese more interesting. I can now actually learn the basics. This app is great for people who don’t understand Chinese too much or don’t seem interested enough. My parents have made me learn Chinese and I am happy learning Chinese using this app. It’s art work is amazing and keeps me interested as I go along the levels. I am on level 130 as of right now and I will continue to learn using this app!.Version: 1.7

Just awesome simpleEasy to use, better than Rosetta Stone. Need iPad version.Version: 1.1.1

Amazing amazing amazingThis app is going to change my life. I have searched for something fun, accessible and easy to learn Chinese and I’ve found it. I am so happy..Version: 3.3.0

Great app! 🤩I just started using this app and I’ve already learned so much! I’m a thirteen year old who wanted to learn Chinese and this app makes it really easy and simple for me to understand. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn Chinese and a small period of time. I also enjoy that if you forget something, you can just go back and learn that lesson. It’s also fun learning with pictures because it makes it easier to remember Chinese characters. It’s a really enjoyable app! I thought Chinese would be really hard and boring to learn, but this app makes it really easy and interesting. I’ve had this app for not too long and I already am in love with it! It has the easiest ways possible to learn Chinese character! I really love it and recommend to anyone who wants to learn Chinese easily! Wow, it’s amazing. It’s my first time writing a review! I only did it because I actually really like it and think it’s a great and outstanding app! 🤩🤩🤩.Version: 3.2.1

This is your sign!!! It's perfect!!This app is literally AMAZING!! it makes mandarin soooooo much easier to learn! I have used Duolingo for ages but this helps me within minutes!!! This is your sign to download it!!! I love it!!!.Version: 4.15.4

Great appIt is such a good app I’ve been taking a course in my university but I couldn’t memorise the characters well and looked for the pinyin. However this app has helped me in remembering a lot of characters and putting sentences together easier with the helpful tips pretty style and the overall fun of the app I have enjoyed it very much. What I would like to see is a test in making sentences in the write grammar format and testing these skills as well as our knowledge on the characters..Version: 4.21.2

Chineasy is great! This is my favourite app! I love playing this in the evening, it helps me to understand so much! Thank you! Xie xie! ^_^.Version: 3.1.5

This app is excellentI’ve never considered someone capable of learning languages, however this app is making me rethink that. I’ve never been able to absorb a language so quickly - a serious well done and thank you to the people who worked on this app..Version: 1.2

Learning is so much fun:D this app is so helpful.Version: 3.1.6

A fun way to learnI started learning Mandarin to compete with my brother. He told me it was impossible to learn all the things he had in traditional classes and immersion programs, especially reading. I started working with Chineasy and started gaining vocab quickly. I am looking forward to shoking him with how much I have learned. Chineasy is super easy for visual learners; I love the writing tutorials, and breakdowns on characters. Understanding the why behind the characters helps them stick in my brain so much easier. The only thing I wish there was a way was to check my own tones. The app makes it way easier to distinguish tones but I would love to find a way to see if I am actually getting the right tone when I am speaking. Overall super great for all ages..Version: 4.25.0

Such a good appI love this app and I didn’t necessarily download it to learn Chinese I got it like 2 years ago because I saw an ad on Facebook and I loved the pictures but after having used it I’m really enjoying learning a language with a method that is designed to help visual learners. If I had to say anything that should be added it would be: -stroke order —when you click on the word and it brings you to the meaning and definition/usage I think that it should visually show you the characters being written out instead of them just being there. It would look very visually appealing and it would show us how to write it properly -speak —putting the option to pronounce the word back to the app in the definition/usage screen so we can hear it and if the user feels like it they can say it back and it’ll tell them if they said it right or not.Version: 2.0.8

Early days, but I’m enjoying it!I’m only on level four so far, but this app is really fun, cute, and informative. I love the incorporation of clever art work to help you remember it and the fun facts about how the characters developed are interesting. I laugh whenever Bao eats his bun at the end of a session. I’ve studied Japanese for 5 years, so I know the meanings most of the time at this level, but I got this to learn pronunciation and the images are helping me to not jump to Japanese pronunciation and start learning the Chinese version. Very nicely done and great artwork! Thank you..Version: 2.0.8

Totally funOne way ticket to language fun town..Version: 3.1.0

It sticks!I love this! I have tried a few different apps for Chinese, but this one is spectacular for learning the vocabulary. The little pictures and descriptions of the characters really help make it stick in my head! I can’t always remember the pronunciation, but I can usually remember the meaning of the characters. Really cool. I ended up paying for it as I was enjoying it so much..Version: 1.2

AmazingSuch a great app. Only started using it but it helps you learn Chinese very quickly. The only thing that could improve it would be a spaced repetition learning system to review characters..Version: 1.20

Beautiful design.Well designed and overall a great app. Thanks.Version: 1.3

Huge rewards for the novice leanerYou will be rewarded quickly - the gamification of education is evident in the form and content of this game. Excellent..Version: 1.1.1

Useful and fun to learn charactersThank you for your great application! Sorry, but there is nothing after 250? Should I be more patient? :-).Version: 2.0

It’s really good, but I wish there was more. The creativity and beauty in this app is absolutely amazing. I struggle to learn to write characters but this assists a lot. The mean reason I got this app is actually this, to learn to write easier. Would be nice if if there was some writing/strike feature that corrects us if our strokes are way too off. Also, I really wish that I could have used this app not only for leaning but also as dictionary. This however is not possible because I cannot search up words. It is something that I find very essential yet not there. Hopefully those things get implemented, 春节快乐!.Version: 3.0.4

A love letter to learning the Chinese languageChineasy is a love letter to the Chinese language and their culture. They use a mix of flashcard-style learning that combines characters and meaning with cultural illustrations and historic context. My favorite part is all of the extra content they offer. For example, ShaoLan (seems to be their primary instructor) offers countless blog, video, and podcast pieces that help you learn the language even further through personal stories and experiences, told by her. This additional content helps you learn, practice, and appreciate the language even more. You can really feel the love they have poured into the app and they keep it updated with new content all the time. Thanks for creating this app, Chineasy, you really did create something unique, important, and wonderful..Version: 4.30.3

Really helpful to learn/remember charactersHelps learn the word, it’s meaning and the character to be able to read/write.Version: 3.0.2

So easy to learn to speak, read and write Chinese with this!I’ve been looking for a good app to learn Chinese for a while. I used the app ‘Chinese Skill’ to learn the basic grammar because it was free but the subscription was to expensive to continue with the lessons. So I finally found this app and it was a total game changer. It makes learning the traditional Chinese alphabet so easy and fun. It’s addictive and enjoyable to learn with this app so I totally recommend it! It’s also less than £2 a month subscription which is a bargain for what it offers..Version: 1.20

Inspires learning, fun and effectiveThis app has improved greatly since I previously tried it, and has now earned both my 5 star review and my paid subscription. The app is beautiful to look at and the associations it forms between the characters and objects that are familiar to the learner really helps with memory, along with spaced-repetition functionality. The app is now available natively for iPad and offers a lifetime subscription (huge thumbs up on both counts!) You can choose between simplified or traditional characters. Best of all, it’s FUN! This app is outstanding for learning Chinese characters!.Version: 4.20.3

Good for BeginnersThe app is free but before you download, keep in mind that you can only access 5 first courses. The rest of the course need a subscription. Sometimes, the drawing was too far fetched, yet the graphics are really really nice. I think it’s a good complimentary app if you’re learning Chinese. I don’t think you can use this app solely to master Chinese... The quiz algorithm is quite poor-in multiple choice questions, we can obviously guess the answer since the rest of the answer options are not mentioned in the chapter..Version: 3.1.4

Great app!Honestly I think this is such a great way of learning, I’ve been trying this app for just a few days and my experience is so awesome. If you are looking an app to teach you in a fun way this is it. All the drawings are so helpful when it comes to learning. This app makes sure that you understand what you are learning, if not you can repeat the lesson. Something that I relish about this app is that they teach you and then ask you questions. I feel like in some other apps they expect you to know what it is, yes yes they give pictures but still, they don’t take the time to explain what it is. I also like how they dig deeper into the meaning of the word, talking about its past and stuff, I’m learning about ancient China in school and it is kind of fun knowing why they used this symbol and stuff like that. I think this app should teach by units. Every 10 lessons do a review and teach you what you don’t understand, and if you’re good to go just move on into the next unit. I highly recommend this app and should totally give it a try..Version: 1.14

Great, but no traditional pronounciation?I’ve been using it to learn Cantonese (traditional Chinese) so I can speak/understand my relatives, and it’s been really helpful with characters and memorizing them. The only issue I have with it is that all the pronunciations are in Mandarin (simplified Chinese). I believe there is an option at the start to choose between the two but the pronunciation is mandarin in both. It’s still a great app for learning mandarin, but it’s not so much for cantonese.Version: 4.26.1

Excellent way to learn chinese!A very interactive way to learn Chinese! Looking forward to see further updates such as testing pinyin tones, using the right words in appropriate sentences and the option to test without the pictures. Also categorisation of the cards would be a good feature too. Great work! Keep it up..Version: 2.0.8

Some SuggestionsI find this app very useful as a person who can speak some Chinese but not read or write it, however, I have some suggestions. Maybe have a setting where you can choose whether the initial card is in the simplified or traditional word. I recently found out that the lessons switch between simplified and traditional, which can be confusing. I only found out that the default character was in traditional when I tapped the card and it said what the simplified character was. Some people may only want to learn simplified Chinese only and with the two writing styles mixed together in the lessons, it may become confusing later on. Maybe make a setting to choose to whether the user wants to see the simplified version or the traditional one? Another suggestion is to “favorite” certain words and lessons? As there are so many cards, it may become difficult to review problem words without sorting through all of the other words. Other than that, I think that this is an extremely beneficial app for learning new words in Chinese. If it wasn’t for the simplified/traditional Chinese issue, I would rate this app 5 stars..Version: 1.3

Been waiting for this!Nice! My only feedback so far would be an option to switch off the speaking stuff, I'd like to learn to read but have no wish to be able to speak it as the learning curve would be too high..Version: 1.0

The best way to learn Chinese characters!I’ve tried & failed so many times to learn Chinese characters, and as anybody with understanding of mandarin knows, many Chinese words are made of combinations of other smaller words and also the combination of 2 (or even more) characters combined together to form a new word / meaning. So basically it really helps to learn the characters and not just rely on pinyin! This app is so helpful for memorising characters in a fun and engaging way. Each character also gives background info & has amazing illustrations that’s really helpful with learning! The next step I hope these developers will do is to have sentence testing, using the characters that appear in our ‘learnt’ section :D Thank you for developing this! 10/10 would recommend :).Version: 2.0.3

Awesome! This app is great. I’m interested in learning Chinese, and this made me advance a lot. You are the best!.Version: 1.10

Amazing appI recently downloaded this app and so far its absolutely amazing I’ve been wanting to learn Chinese for ages and this app is perfect for it. 👍 I would definitely recommend it..Version: 4.6.5

It’s Chineasy to do Chinese Lessons!Don’t forget to take lessons 1-10!.Version: 1.2

Productive easy to useIts a productive and easy to use with lots of creativity to help us learn. Im using free version.Version: 3.1.5

Very very excellent and smartI love its not too good or bad it’s just right for me haha!.Version: 3.2.1

Super interesting...... Way to learn Chinese characters. But I wish the App interface was slightly better when scrolling across diff characters, without the need to tap on each character every time to enable scrolling..Version: 1.2

Start with this app! Highly recommendedI had been wanting to learn Chinese for a long time but had never quite found a system that worked for me. Enter Chineasy! Easily digestible lessons that primarily focus on characters, their meanings, pronunciation, and how they relate to and create other words and characters. As a native English speaker a lot of these concepts and relationships are very hard to initially understand but Chineasy presents each lesson in a very simple, logical way using mnemonic devices and repetition and everything continually builds upon the last thing you learnt. Other language apps I have tried focus much more on conversational phrases, which of course are important, but the way Chineasy centres around learning characters feels like it is giving me a much stronger foundation in the whole language. I understand this is only the beginning of learning Chinese for me, but I cannot recommend this app highly enough for anyone who would also like to start but is really put off by the scale and daunting nature of it all. It has really made me excited about learning Chinese. It’s all finally making sense!.Version: 3.1.6

This is amazing! This is definitely the best app for learning a language that I have come across. It is easy to learn with it and has a simple layout anyone would understand. It looks beautiful and the descriptions of each word really help you to learn. The unique approach to show Chinese characters as the images they represent is extremely effective with learning. I love it!.Version: 1.0.2

So far so goodSo far it’s really good, I’m making good process but I just hope I don’t have to lay for anything Hehe.Version: 3.2.2

Best way to learn Chinese charactersI love this app so much! I’m a visual learner and the stories behind the characters help them to stick in my memory so much better then the traditional way of learning. Thank you so much to the creator of this, fantastic job :).Version: 2.0.8

Good For LearningChinese Teacher recommended this app for learning Chinese. Chineasy is a great app for learning but they should make it iPad compatible. All in all Chineasy is a wonderful app..Version: 1.15

Love it, but it could be even betterThe app is great and I downloaded it not knowing a single chinese word or character and now I know quite a few. One thing I would really love to have on the app though is a review quiz or something of that sort, so I could test over every character and word I’ve learned. I mean, if I’m being honest.. I’m going to forget the first ones I learned before long because I don’t have a way to review without it giving the answers to me. I think a review test every 10 lessons or so would improve the app a ton. But like I said, overall the app is 6 out of 5, amazing. I LOVE IT and I’m excited to see what’s ahead in the future improvements to the app!!!.Version: 1.1

Cool.Coming from mainland China, with experience in chinese, some of the things here will never be used in bejing or guangzhou. However, it is an amazing app for learning chinese, and I love it..Version: 4.15.4

Why traditional? Why isn't there an option to have traditional or simplified characters? If you're learning Chinese it's almost certainly the simplified version you will encounter... So showing traditional characters makes no sense! Apart from that I am addicted to this app! Does it work? Who knows....Version: 1.9

Love this app!! Highly recommend. So FUN easy, colorful, and a logical progression of learning in such a fun enjoyable format for all ages. I use lots of different apps including other language apps, and this is the first review I've ever written. Chineasy makes it so fun and easy to learn. The fun colorful pictographs make it so easy to remember characters. I love this app and hope they develop a Chinese character writing app too that incorporates the pictographs. Gamification of language learning like this keeps me on track by making it fun to practice everyday. I can just play throughout the day and advance to the next step without it feeling like practice. I look forward to opening the app everyday to see the pictographs and improve my skills while learning and having fun! HIGHLY recommend ❤️🙂.Version: 2.0.9

Love this appWho knew reading and understanding Mandarin would be so easy??? 💖💖💖.Version: 1.6.1

Bien expliquéL’application donne des méthodes Et des comparaisons pour se souvenir des symboles chinois. C’est ludique et pratique. Le tout fonctionne sous forme de jeu avec des niveaux et on voit notre apprentissage. De plus, j’ai de la revioque je peux faire en tout temps avec mon Apple Watch . Je progresse plus vite, c’est très encourageant!.Version: 4.17.1

I love itSo far I’ve loved the app, I learnt mandarin at school but I was never good, I remembered my teacher showing me a video of Chineasy so I thought I might aswell learn mandarin again. However, whenever I click on the conversation it crashes, please help me.Version: 3.1.4

Learn Chinese the Chineasy way.I would like to write a review a bit later when I have learnt a bit more So far I am very impressed with the Chineasy system..Version: 1.3

This is so fun! This is honestly so fun, I have to stop myself from doing more than a level or two a day (because I need to retain it and not just enjoy it)! I love that there are pictures to help you associate the characters with the meaning, making them easier to remember. Also, the brief explanations are interesting and highlight the cultural and historical depth of the language. I would be happy for a bit more detail, even..Version: 1.2

HiI like this new way of learning Chinese, and the illustrations helped me. But I’m a nine year old Chinese girl who already learned a lot since 5, and these words are too simple. It costs money but I dont mind, I’ll just ask my mom. Anyways, I love this app and it’s amazing, and I’ll wait for new levels. Thank you, ShaoLan for releasing this app! Edit: woops I accidentally pressed one star. Anyway, I agree with other reviewers and there should be like a pronunciation thing so I don’t get it wrong. My grandma had to correct me a few times, so that’s one suggestion. I think I’ll use my savings to pay for the chineasy fee, but I still think that 4.99 is a little too much, so maybe I’ll go for the annual one. I’m still deciding and I have to ask my parents first.Version: 3.6.0

Great!I actually discovered the books at the library a year ago and wanted to buy them so badly, but passed the opportunity by and wasn’t able to find the name of the books again! I was so excited to find they have an app! Very fun, and the explanation makes learning the words easier! My Mandarin teacher always said that learning Mandarin was so much easier because the joining of words made more sense, and they do! It just is hard to learn if it isn’t your first language, but I truly believe learning 中文 helps learning 日本語 and 한글!.Version: 1.5

Really GoodEven though you have to pay to unlock more levels, this app amazes me of how accurate it is.Version: 3.3.0

Chineasy is Superb!Chineasy Cards is a fantastic app for learning to read Chinese characters, memorize their meanings and practice pronunciation. The brief explanations of word etymologies are spectacularly helpful for committing the meanings to long term memory. The comparisons of traditional and simplified characters where applicable is appreciated, as I can compare the traditional characters to the Hanja I’ve learned while studying Korean. I’ve completed the first 40 levels and plan continue to reviewing what I’ve learned as I eagerly await the release of addition levels..Version: 1.0.2

Thanks for making thisI really like this app it allows children to learn Chinese in a fun way and not the app telling you this is this and you say it like this and it is this in English. It is a really good way of learning Chinese for kids. Thanks for making it.Version: 1.0.1

Best app for learning ChineseThis is by far the best app I’ve tried for learning Chinese- and believe me, I’ve tried many. (Duolingo, Drops, Memrise, HelloChinese, ChineseSkill, I’ve tried them all). This is the only app that is actually making learning Chinese fun and keeping me engaged. Not only that, it actually works. I’ve only had this app for a few days and I’ve already been making progress. The concept is unique and effective, and Bao is just adorable and great at keeping me motivated. There’s no ads and it doesn’t glitch, either. The only thing I’d suggest to make it even better would be to add an option to learn only Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese. Right now, it’s kinda mixed. I want to focus on Simplified Chinese but for some words the Traditional version is being taught, and it’s kind of annoying. That’s it, though. TL;DR: Great app that is both fun and effective. Be warned, it combines Simplified and Traditional Chinese..Version: 2.0.8

A lot more fun than flash cards as a complete beginnerDon’t get me wrong, a nice Anki deck with words in context is great, but as someone with zero vocabulary that’s overwhelming. That’s where Chineasy comes in. Sort of like a Wanikani, but for Chinese, and only aimed at beginner/intermediate perhaps, but that said I’m only 1/5th through it. Used it to break into graded readers and it did the job nicely, recommend!.Version: 4.20.1

Amazing app + suggestionThis app can help you learn chinese in a way that is both engaging and interesting. However it could be improved by adding a feature that allows you to practise existing words that you have learnt rather than just having them there for you to look at yourself..Version: 1.20
