✓ Really late and buggyI bought the Traktor S2 controller early in the year with the promise that it would be iPad compatible in the spring. Well better late than never but there seems to be a lot of issues with the new version specifically not recognising my iTunes playlists content simply saying they are empty. They aren’t because if I revert to the old software it recognises them and all the tracks immediately. It’s quite frustrating as I have a gig this week end and I was hoping to use the S2 controller with the iPad but at the minute I can’t until native instruments do an update :(.Version: 2.0.0
✓ No Filter and Fx at the same time?What happened? In version 1 of Traktor Dj you could use kaoss pad style FX 3 at a time like Delay, Reverb, Flanger, etc while simultaneously using the filter....now you can only use one or the other just filter or 1 single FX. ✓ Great potential, but keep the original if installed alreadyHave the original iOS app on my IPad Air, and just had this new version for 24 hours. Initially, love the new graphical overhaul. I work better on touch devices even more so than when using a Z1 connected. Major flaw is that the app keeps crashing, just stops working in the middle of tracks, and that’s both decks not just the one that’s loading/analyzing. Has happened to me at least 6 times this morning and same yesterday. Needs more information on overlay, including full track length/bpm etc, should all be on screen at same time. Search/suggestions also very poor. Just fills the suggested list with all the preloaded crap I don’t want to use, and the matches are random to say the least. If this is work in progress then I can forgive it for now, and just hope that gets regular updates. Was free for me, and to be fair the original version was amazing value at the time, just very basic looking. If I was grading this it would be a C-, needs to improve. Have given it 1*, because of the crashing. Not reliable enough to play out on. Come on NI, pull your finger out and sort it..Version: 2.0.0
✓ Great App, Terrible FunctionalityI really liked this app the problem is in the way you have to build your music library , for some reason you can’t just use the music in your iPad ( I can even put my files inside a traktor folder, why not make that an option ) , and this is really bizarre because the whole point of this app is to be as simple as possible . But no ! You have to go to your Mac ( if you don’t have one you are probably screwed) and sync your iTunes library from your Mac to your iPad. So, I finally figure out how to do this and BAM!!! The app doesn’t work anymore!!! I tried reinstalling, restarting my iPad, but nope. Such a waste of time, and it’s a shame because otherwise the app is beautiful ..Version: 2.4.1

✓ It’s a decent beginningThis is a lot of fun, but lacks quite a lot compared to Traktor on the desktop. Also, the beat detection seems to have an arbitrary tempo limit. It won’t allow me to correct the tempo for tracks that are 235 bpm, and it thinks they are half that tempo..Version: 2.3.0
✓ My favorite DJ appI actually like this better than Traktor on a laptop. Dead simple to use. Great with a controller like the Kontrol S2. My only complaint is the effects. They’re kind of horrible and basic if I’m being honest. Wish I could load some of the really good AUv3 effects I have in their place. ✓ Can you rate something 0 stars?Congratulations Native Instruments you’ve found out step 3! Let me explain, Step 1: Build a bunch of good controllers, label them compatible with iPhone and iPads. Step 2: Build the app Traktor DJ (version 1) Step 3: Release new controller generation and new app, take out all support for the older controllers Step 4: Profit from those who upgrade their controllers just so they can keep using their iPads with them. Notice how I only said iPads in step4? Yeah no iPhone support at all in new version. Seriously disappointed in how you labeled things iOS compatible (branded on the box) then removed that support in an app update and removed the old app. I would expect much much more from such a big company. ✓ Very disappointing follow upI don’t often write reviews for apps, but I felt I had to for this in hope developers will see. This is a major step down from the old app, feels very dumbed down. No manual beat grid adjustment is horrible, only 4 effects? I really hope there’s either a paid “pro” version coming or this was rushed out to meet a release date and is going to be massively supported and improved over the coming months. ✓ Not as good as the originalSide by side the original still is the top dog. Reasons: No record option yet. XY effects pad on the iPad make it waaaaay more fun to use and also give you, as a Dj, a way to be more animated. Track analysis doesn’t happen automatically. The SoundCloud integration is nice. ✓ Good..but lacks features.Used a lot of DJ apps. I actually like the interface, I personally think it’s one of the best around. The new mix feature is also great, and it has some other really good features too. That said, it’s hard to know where they are going with this. For a start it lacks the more comprehensive FX selection that was on the original Traktor DJ, there are now only 4 effects available it appears, and that is not enough! Another suggestion for a feature that they could seriously look at, practically no DJ software has the ability to easily clock and sync across 2 iPads so they run in tempo sync. Considering the number of DJ’s that now operate with 2 DJ’s working together, and that we are into IOS 13 that is native to the iPad this should be possible...and this is a corner of the market they could own and really capitalise on, if they were forward thinking enough. I also notice they practically never give a developers response to suggestions, not a very good sign, many other developers do give responses...which often shows that they are listening to suggestions and criticisms. In summary...it’s a nice clean interface with some good ideas, but really is lacking in features...why not add more features? charge for them if you have to...put them out as packs or whatever. But make it more powerful, the opportunity is there to do this...and I really hope they are listening.Version: 2.3.0

✓ A step back...I’m a professional DJ and I used to carry an iPad running Traktor DJ 1 and a S1 controller in my kit bag just in case the club equipment failed. I simply couldn’t do that with Traktor DJ 2 - it’s just not stable enough. Absolutely not up to a professional standard. ✓ Needs lots of workSorry but...I don’t see the point of releasing a product that is so half way (not even) there!! I understand it’s free compared to the £15 charge for the previous version.... Don’t get me wrong, I have the original traktor app for iOS which still needed a lot of work but still much better than this version and have been a NI customer for years and I love your products but I’m expecting an app that will allow for mixing on the go, and this one ain’t it....yet! Remove 15mins track limit, jog wheel is not working as a jog wheel Include musical key ( i don’t need it but looks better if you know how to read music, music theory and if I can’t turn that off ). When I enable filters I want to have access to the EQ and effects of each deck at the same time... include more efx and eq parameters (hopefully not as super expensive add-ons )😎😀 Make importing tracks easier, if apple is being difficult, make it easy for your users to import their music without having to deactivate icloud music (itunes match) and apple music,what a nightmare..... if i disable those and enable again it takes almost a day to sync back due to the amount of music I have. maybe through file sharing option on device when connected to itunes and have the ability to create playlists in the app or import folders that will become playlists ...else it’s a nightmare if you are subscribed to any of their services. The app is reasonable but the effects unit is poor, with only basic functions, which I can’t figure if I can change. During a practice the app glitched and the music stalled. ✓ Local File SupportTraktor DJ 2 addressed every issue I had with the original Traktor DJ app. It’s a fun casual way to play around with music away from my CDJs. ✓ Good, but…Long time Traktor DJ user and recently tried out this app. Generally it’s very good, but if left running in the background it completely drains my iPad battery. If I look in Battery in settings, the amount of time spent by the app in background is huge. The backward steps from Traktor DJ are removal of a master tempo control and the removal of the beat gridding window where you could just scroll / pinch to adjust. The other feature really needed is the ability to put more than one downbeat marker into a track for those where the tempo fluctuates slightly across the length of the track, but is correct enough for you to mix in and out..Version: 2.4.1

✓ Zero development since launch.This started off being very promising indeed. However some seven months later absolutely nothing has changed. Desperately needs additional streaming services given that this is meant to be a starting point for those new to DJing, with limited budgets . I’m now at a point of selling my traktor controller because I’ve outgrown it quite quickly given the software limitations. My controller came with a free licence to traktor pro but even that is years behind the others like Rekordbox, Serato, Virtual DJ and DJay Pro AI given their commitment to streaming. A great shame as the build quality of NI Traktor controllers is very good and well thought out. ✓ Traktor DJ 2 reviewI agree and disagree with the above review. Touch screen dials and knobs aren’t normally great and hardware should be used with this app. You can change the app to look and feel more like the previous version of IOS traktor by swiping the decks down and you get the WAV file view of the track as well as familiar shortcuts to effects etc. This version seems to support multitouch and as a result I was able to use multiple disks/knobs at once for eq, while not as accurate as physical knobs, this was a welcome improvement on most dj apps that offer this setup. I also like that NI have loaded this version with some decent enough demo tracks to muck around with from the get go. NI have changed a lot recently and I support them 100%..Version: 2.0.0

The old app has now had its Mixcloud intergration disabled & will not recognise 3/4 of my library due to "DRM" which is laughable as my entire library consists of Psy/Goa Trance purchased from bandcamp & there is not a trace of DRM on ANY of the tracks. To make matters worse this new app has the same issue whilst also removing many key features. So NI I take it you’ll be offering a refund to all who purchased the previous app? ✓ It’s not DJ Pro AI but with a few updates it would kill.Traktor is a great DJ platform and can be better but chooses not to. This app for example has only four effects that are not post fader. It only gives you the ability to log in to your SoundCloud account from the many many other streaming services. Very disappointing. I own the S4MK3 and I can’t use the controller!!! ✓ Disappointing copyQuite disappointed that this launch has become a copy of the Djay app. The original Traktor DJ app was unique and was a game changer . 1. The rotary knobs on a touch screen are not effective and they lose purpose and accuracy. 2. You can’t access the touch effects panel and the Eq/filter at the same time. 3. No snap to grid/beat option. 4. No ability to change colour scheme. I have contacted support and this was their reply. They cannot guarantee that they will fix it. This issue seems to be caused by a bug in the current version of the application. ✓ Not compatible with Traktor S4 MK3G’day, I loved the first app you guys had because it allowed me to use my iPad with the Traktor S4 MK2 set up, I mean you were only limited to use two channels but nevertheless a great app. I thought this Traktor Dj 2 app would have been the same but unfortunately it doesn’t work with my new S4 MK3. If or when you do update this app, I recommend having a 4 deck option as well, like a simple deck A/C & B/D switch or something alike. Food for thought. ✓ PLEASE improve Pitch Control !!!!I think this is the best dj app on iPad however there is a serious design flaw with the pitch controller! When using the finger to adjust bpm, it is hard to stop at a precise number, and when the finger leaves the screen it is 99% possibility that the result drifts a little bit, it is always impossible to get an exact bpm you want ! Please improve this by changing pitch adjustments by step-adjust，use + - buttons or even entering the exact number! ✓ Not sure what this is all aboutThe original Traktor DJ is strong and stable and a joy to use so much so that I cannot use the other dj apps. No other dj app on the market can use the wave touch which is so unique to Traktor dj . I don’t honk even NI have realised how powerful this is. So much so that it might one day even put all controllers out of the market....well..maybe. The problem with the original app is that has fallen behind other apps. I don’t know why. Maybe not an interesting market for NI? To be back on N 1 it just needed a small update and a few addiction like for example Ableton Link. I see the effort of the developers and I appreciate the integration of Soundclod Go+ even though Beatport link would have been more suited? All in all I know this app will receive the love needed and will be back soon to be the amazing dj app it is. For the moment though just about 3 stars..Version: 2.0.2
