✓ Comprehensive but has problemsWhen I am on the trail, I need to power my phone off then back on every time I want to use the app. If I only want to see the map of the trail I can just leave my phone on and open the app when I need it. But if I want to see the blue dot of where I am on the trail, I have to stand there doing the powering off then on thing. I have an iPhone XR, so it isn’t a matter of old technology, and these are trails with plenty of 4G bars. That said, I love how this includes every conceivable trail in the state..GirdbidbjVersion: 1.1.6

✓ So far not meeting expectationsI just downloaded and signed up for the app. I was excited to find the custom route feature! Unfortunately, it took a long time to figure out how to tag someone, then the person I tagged is getting an error when clicking the link I sent via text. ✓ Good, but please add Trail Running as an activity.Trail Running is it’s own activity segment and separate from hiking. CO is #1 state for trail runners. Often trail runners want to know what % of a trail is runnable vs technical/too rocky to run, etc. Some routes are known for their trail races. ✓ Great potential, but difficult to useI was so excited when I first stared using the app, but I am now feeling frustrated and find myself using All Trails instead. Creating a custom route is tricky, and I accidentally deleted several before I got the hang of it. I also can't seem to turn a recorded route into a custom route. I just want a place to store all of the trails I've hiked and liked, but the way the categories are broken down is too granular and confusing. ✓ March’22 Update - doesn’t workCOTREX did an auto update around march 27, ‘22 and to improve ‘stability’. Now the app won’t stay open, even with a new download. ✓ So aggravating to useThis app was so aggravating to use, I deleted it after 5 minutes. It is not user friendly at all. I mistyped my email address when signing up and couldn't find a place to update it. I tried to delete and recreate my account and now the account simultaneously doesn't exist and is already in use. Difficult to figure out which grids to download to get the trail you want offline. Couldn't figure out a way to make a route out of multiple trails. It's a mess..BryanBLDRVersion: 1.1.5

✓ Absolute trashIn case you don’t want to read the Terms of Service yourself, I’ll summarize: “Inaccurate, useless spyware.” Neither the maker of the app nor Colorado Parks and Wildlife believes the material to be accurate or useful (almost verbatim from the Terms of Service). They’ve also given themselves carte blanc “to access, read, use, preserve and disclose any information”. Seriously?! Your tax dollars at work....AzsxdcfvbhjVersion: 1.1.4

✓ It’s upside downI have my iPad on a stand. I have to turn it upside down to see the app, so I can’t use my stand. It won’t rotate. It’s too difficult to use the app with one hand (my other hand is forced to hold my iPad)..TadbaranddogVersion: 1.1.3

✓ New update is AWFULPlease fix!! It doesn’t track with the GPS correctly anymore, it is not as intuitive, and just all around a terrible app now! :( I used to recommend it to EVERYONE riding or hiking in Colorado, and now I can’t. ✓ I used to love this app…Okay, so after I wrote the scathing review, I found the red button - which does not show up on opening page, you must press the directional arrow in lower menu bar to find it - & recorded my walks. Two days in a row the same 5.6 mile trail I’ve walked for two years is now 7.1 & 7.2 miles respectively. I am comparing this to another mapping app which has always read within 0.2 miles of COTREX, so I know the original mileage was correct. Much as I’d like to brag about walking 7 miles daily before breakfast, that’s just not accurate. I always carry my phone in side pants pocket so there is no chance of extra movement being the sudden difference. Please fix this!!! —————— …until the recent update that removed the Record A Trip feature. I hike daily with my dog near our home & thus am familiar with the official trails. We often go off trail through the woods, sometimes using COTREX to stay oriented & always to keep track of our route. Now all that’s available is the Create Route feature which makes assumptions about where I want to go based on input of only 2 location points, completely useless. After I transfer my 190 recorded trips to my computer, I’ll be deleting this app. So disappointed!.Ida's MomVersion: 1.5.0
