✓ Actively using locationWhen exit the app it’s ACTIVELY USING MY CURRENT LOCATION.. Only way to switch it off is to double click home button to exit app. A little annoying if forgotten, will drain phone battery quicker. Otherwise seems to be an ok app..Version: 7.382.1

✓ Fantastic and free - perfectSo far I’m loving this app only used a couple of times but it’s got me to my destination almost. The only quirky bit I have found is the map accuracy, the gps arrow is spot on my location so if I’m sat on my driveway the blue arrow is on my driveway, now here’s the kicker when I typed in my address and set the home location it shows a home marker and says it’s 40yds away from where I am. It gets better, if I touch and hold on the map to place a drop pin once it tells me my address it’s only 30yds away. My house number is 42, the home pin shows outside 48, the favourite pin shows outside 44 and if I place a pin outside my house apparently I live at 36. Hope this makes sense because it confused the hell out of me, but it’s still a great app thank you.Version: 8.348.0

Refreshingly different to my treasured TomTom GO and finally FINALLY displays trip duration and distance separately instead of the annoying alternating display. This app could replace my treasured but for one thing - contacts import. Please incorporate contact sync, or at least sync MyPlaces with MyDrive so that I can update my designations automatically instead of having to type them all over again. Your fifth star awaits. ✓ A really useful copilotI particularly like the clear display, which also shows your speed, speed limits (mostly correct), traffic information, speed cameras and other hazards. Various settings control how the information is presented; however, the coloured indicator above your speed (on the enlarged speedometer) has disappeared in the current version. It works as well as other sat-navs I have tried, although lane guidance approaching junctions could be improved, and it adapts quickly to my preferred route whenever I ignore an instruction. It’s good, but not perfect and I have also been disappointed by the lack of response to changes that I have reported on the website..Version: 9.279.1
✓ Re routed around traffic, best navigation appUsed this for 1200 miles of uk driving this summer. It has faults but it’s benefits vastly outweigh them. Recent journey up the M1 it routed us around upcoming traffic, amazing to see the m1 at a standstill as we traveled along a parallel road with little to no traffic. On the return leg it updated its route around an accident on the m1 just before the motorway signs updated to state the road was closed, a subsequent update routed us off earlier before we got caught in traffic. None of the other apps come close to amigo’s ability to keep you going. It kept navigating me even when I had no reception. Totally indispensable for any journey on roads that are subject to delay. Can’t praise it enough. Well done TomTom.Version: 9.130.1

I use it as a regular driver driving through different cities and towns and I’m stuck in love with it. ✓ Nice but flawedThe app is simple, uncluttered and has some nice features, even in ‘drive’ mode (ie without needing to set a destination). ✓ Excellent AppThis app is truly excellent however I have two suggestions for additional functionality. In the UK road speed limits can be confusing and they change frequently which can catch motorists out, especially on roads they do not know. When I am not using the navigation functionality I leave the app just showing the road that I am on and this shows my speed and the current UK speed limit. It would be much better if this could be made bigger so it can be seen more easily while driving. In the UK postcodes can cover a large area and several houses. “What Three Words” is a great system to store very specific locations and it links easily back to Google maps. It would be great if “What Three Words” could be integrated into TomTom AmiGO..Version: 8.41.0

The major downside for me regarding this App is that it doesn’t Run in the background which is disappointing as you will not get Alerts unless the App is open on the screen. This is a way better replacement I would love to get CarPlay (like TomTom Go) to just watch the speed; safety camera and traffic etc etc without full blown navigation. ✓ Almost perfect - wish functionI have yet to find an app that can navigate to a position given as longitude and latitude. I live in a very rural past of Spain at a farm that is off road and accessed via an unnamed road. It is therefore impossible to search for it and therefore a SatNav is relatively useless. The same on mine however it seems every update resets the volume control back to zero. So after a update you need to go and set the volume again. The speed on the road and your speed is easy to read. ✓ Perfect as it isThe app is perfect as it is and I think considering it’s free we get an awful lot for £0 a lot of people are suggesting adding this and adding that and as nice as all those things are if they were implemented you would have a full fledged fully functioning sat nav system which would make the tomtom devices less appealing and these devices are after all what makes tomtom their money so for me if anyone from tomtom reads these I feel it’s perfect as it is and maybe you could also make a paid version with some of the features that people are asking for so it becomes more premium for those that are looking for a more dedicated sat nav experience on their phone..Version: 7.367.0

✓ Almost thereI work for a take-away company in York and have tried the app a couple of times unfortunately there is a major glitch that I have found. As there are constant changes in speed limits between 20mph and 60mph the app will say 40mph all the time , I.e. does not change like Tom Tom Go app does. The only time it changes is on dual carriageway roads where the speed limit is 70mph. ✓ Nice gps wish it had option for offline mapsNice easy to use GPS navigation app seems to run quite stable even on older iPhones. The mapping display is nice showing speed limit and actual speed. It would be nice to have the option to download maps over wifi for offline use like Sygic and google and maps.me to avoid chewing data. Also it doesn’t work full screen on an iPad mini which is a pity because Waze, Magic Earth and Sygic do. Also the latest visual cues while a good idea occasionally cannot keep up with multiple turns on quick succession. Live traffic display is nearly on par with Waze. All in all Amigo is a good ad-free alternative to Waze. I’d happily pay a small premium for option to download maps offline without paying for the full TomTom Go..Version: 8.384.0

Most of the time app works as it should be but still I think it is not as polished as its main rivals. I sometimes get no data connection error even though Google maps and Waze works perfectly on CarPlay. The car arrow sometimes does not sit on the top of the route line. It rather drift left or right. A suggestion to the dev team: can you add an option to change the font size for street names or make the font size larger? On an iPhone 13, the street names are difficult to read. ✓ Open locations from Whatsapp and TelegramIt's good and I like how it takes privacy seriously, the only issue is I’m not able to open shared locations from Whatsapp nor Telegram! Every other navigation app could do it. And even pasting the coordinations manually doesn’t take you to the exact location. ✓ Great app but in need of improvementI have rated this app 5 stars for the speed camera warnings and the interface layout. It is a really nice app but PLEASE developers make a note of what I am about to write and implement this in the next update. This app can be improved a lot by the following: —————————— 1) Main involvement- Can you please include toll road charges- option to avoid them - I.e London Congestion charge/ULEZ etc —————————— 2) option in the navigation to find petrol station, atm, supermarket etc at a click of a button. This would be very useful option to have. 3) Overspeed Alert - you should be able to select when to trigger alert noise warning- it is currently set too high at the moment. 4) add extra navigation voice commands for male and female instead the one you currently have. 5)There is no warning alert noises when approaching a speed camera- A loud bleeping tone noise that gets louder and louder when nearer to the camera would be good as well as the voice 6) Option to avoid motorway route, country lanes etc. Can you please reply back to the developers if you have made a note and read this. ✓ UPDATED… Good navigation and camera app except…I was searching for a navigation and camera warning app because Google Maps just doesn’t seem to give voice warnings of cameras. Radarbot and Waze are okay but (despite specifically saying otherwise in its promotional material) both provide needless warnings cameras on the other side of the road. Whilst AmiGO is better than Radarbot and Waze in that warnings of cameras are given even when route navigation is inactive it, like Radarbot and Waze, still provides superfluous warnings of cameras facing the other way on the opposite side of the road. The only app that seems to reliably ONLY provide relevant warnings of cameras is Cyclops but, unfortunately, this is not integrated with Apple CarPlay. The other issue with AmiGO is that (on CarPlay) I don’t seem to be able to zoom the map out whilst navigation is active. This map is too “zoomed in” so you can’t see your whole route and the map seems to move too fast on the infotainment screen when driving on motorways (because it’s zoomed in and the map “scale”…).Version: 8.590.0

✓ Almost perfectHi, For those who don’t already know about it, and who need to travel the a9 and beyond, I downloaded this free app for our trip to Sussex as it warns of speed cameras and keeps a note of your average speed. It also tells you when the measuring areas start and finish and how long they are. It really helped us coming back yesterday as we came to a grinding halt on the m6 due to a traffic jam. All of sudden the female voice that had been silent for the previous several hours said, “turn off at the next junction in 300yards”. I managed to work my way across from the fast lane to the slip road and we were directed on a detour via the m62 rejoining the m6 about 12 miles further north. It saved us hours of delay and didn’t even affect our eta. I don’t know how it knew about the jam but I’m glad that it did! So, TomTom amigo. It’s well worth having on your phone, makes travelling the nation’s average speed camera network almost bearable! The one improvement I’d like to see is the average speed in large digits so I don’t have to strain my eyes to read it! Oh, also there’s no sound on my iPhone se, though there is on my iPad so I have to use both!.Version: 8.249.1

I am impressed. 250 mile trip today and it told me I was approaching mobile / fixed cameras. Motorway was closed and it diverted me perfect. I haven’t used google maps for a while now. Would it be possible to have an unambiguous visual cue for the turning of an upcoming roundabout - 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc? ✓ Good but not brilliant - yet.I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and so far it’s lived up to my usual Tomtom expectations. However I do think the user interface could do with some tweaks. 1 If I set it to silent, I still get the annoying camera warnings etc. So I have to go into the menu to disable them all one by one. Would be better if like most it had a sound on, warning only and sound off option. 2 No enhanced visual cues in car play when sound off. (but I guess that’s a car play limitation) 3 No easy option that I can see to turn toll roads on or off when route planning in car play. 4 Car play isn’t implemented fully. So it doesn’t become the main GPS app. If I go to the car play Home Screen, it will displays whatever GPS app that was previously used. Normally it displays the current running app so you can see what music is playing and the turn directions together. Otherwise it’s a good experience and am hopeful this can bring me back to tomtom use..Version: 8.692.2
✓ Amazing is an understatementI have tried them all, all the apps that warn you about accidents, speed cameras, Hazards, mobile cameras, I’ve had Garmins & Tomtoms & even used Google maps, but this is the app that shines, it’s always right on the mark. I’m not a speeder, but when you’re in an unfamiliar area it’s nice to know that I can monitor my speed & be aware of camera, without breaking my concentration of driving. I would love to have the ability to record my journeys so I would have Visual evidence that I was not speeding, should I be confronted by the force that likes to say - both me & my colleague observed are you speeding, but they have no visual evidence.
