Habit — Daily Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Cannot restore purchaseI paid for the premium version and have been using it for years. Now, I bought a new phone and it won’t let me restore my purchase. The developers haven’t responded to my emails. Beware.Version: 1.41.0

Would like my money backI really enjoyed the app and had purchased a one-off lifetime version back when the option was available. I logged in on Jan 29th 2021 to find my premium features had vanished and had ads pop up in my face for me to purchase premium. I went to restore my purchase and nothing - ad continued, no premium features. I thought it was a bug so I sent the developers an email, asking what was going on and if I have to purchase a subscription I’d like my money back. It is now Feb 10th 2021 and I still haven’t heard a response. I also realise I’m not the only one. Pretty disappointing stuff..Version: 1.41.0

Used to be great, now it’s annoyingThis app was really helpful and I loved tracking my habits here - I built some really good habits and this app was crucial to my success. However recently they changed the app and now pretty much every time I open the app I have to close a “limited time price offer” to move to a paid version of the app. I’m fine with having limited features on a free app version, but now to get spammed with full screen pop ups trying to force me to buy the full subscription is really annoying and disappointing. I’m already using the app less and will probably delete soon if nothing changes, it’s honestly painful..Version: 1.41.3

WAS a wonderful appBefore the January 2021 update I loved everything about the app. In particular, the small one time purchase to upgrade to premium. You could choose out of three prices for what best suited you and I thought that was the most generous and great thing I had EVER seen in an app. Now they have switched to a subscription based service which is very expensive, particularly for the type of app it is. The money I spent to have premium no longer matters and they have not made ‘redeem purchases’ available so I can’t easily get a refund. I am so disappointed that they have changed this..Version: 1.41.0

Buyer bewareLike many others, I purchased this app last year when it was a fixed rate for premium. The developers even said at that time that it would be a ONE -TIME payment for premium forever. When I updated the app this morning - with no warning from the developers - I was demoted to a “free” account and all the premium features I had and paid for disappeared. To reinstate it is now asking that I purchase a subscription. I’ve reached out via email and have yet to receive a reply. Absolutely despicable..Version: 1.41.0

Paid premium revokedI and many others paid a flat fee for the premium version months ago, and suddenly it has been taken away? How is that even allowed... extremely shady if you as me.Version: 1.41.0

Underhanded developer tricks...This app was great UNTIL the most recent update: my full purchase is no longer relevant as they have changed to a ‘subscription only’ model. One of the lowest moves that a developer can pull - take a customers money for the full version of the app, and then reset all purchases (with no refund!) because now I have to pay monthly. No worries! I’ll just go elsewhere. I suggest you do the same....Version: 1.41.0

Please bring that algorithm back!In spite of the minimalistic design and user-friendliness, I think what actually distinguishes this app from other Habit trackers is the internal algorithm, which “decreases the percentage if we miss repetitions” and “slows down a bit each time with a new repetition”. This truly inspires me to finish daily habits on time and gives me a sense of fulfillment every time I manage to check them off! However, after recent upgrade, that algorithm seems to be taken away. Now, even though I have been roughly missing out for a month, the percentage barely drops. This absolutely wipes out the sense of fulfillment. Hence, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it if you could bring that algorithm back or add an option for users to choose. Many thanks for all your hard work!.Version: 1.41.3

Very aggressive promotion of premiumI bought this app a few months ago. Now I can’t open it without the page aggressively promoting the premium subscription. It’s a pain to get to my habits so I will be deleting this app.Version: 1.41.0

Paid the lifetime fee 10 days ago!A mere 10 days after I paid £4.99 to get the premium features for life, I’ve been bumped back to free because they’ve created a new pricing structure. Now whenever I go on I’m getting obnoxious ads, and features I had before aren’t available. This really isn’t okay! If they knew they were changing the pricing they should have disabled the £4.99 fee and premium features for new customers until it launched! I’ve applied to Apple for a refund on the basis I didn’t get what I paid for but no idea if I’ll get anywhere..Version: 1.41.0

Privacy nightmare.Well designed, but you are the product here. The privacy policy is so wide open they can do pretty much anything they like with your data. Read between the lines of the privacy policy, it borders on cynical. There are plenty of good habit trackers you can pay for that aren’t camouflaged data collection schemes..Version: 1.17

Another app jumping on the subscription bandwagonI paid for full access to the app via a one-off payment around a week ago, per the upgrade page in the app. Now I log in and am told that I need to pay a monthly subscription to access pro features. It isn’t acceptable to offer lifetime access one minute and to switch your pro offering to a subscription model the next, while leaving those users who paid for lifetime with no pro features. Really disappointing..Version: 1.41.0

Once a good appWhen I originally stumbled upon this app, I thought I found the holy grail for habits: simple, beautiful and with the possibility of donating to the developer. I immediately donated and made it part of my daily routine. Now the app has gone with a subscription model, effectively leaving all the previous Premium users with nothing in their hands. I can't say I'm surprised as this is a very common trend nowadays... but I was appalled by the lack of support and care towards who paid for Premium features before. Switched to "Streaks" which seems to do what I need..Version: 1.41.0

Great app - but cool it on the upgrade offersThe free version of this app is great if you’re just hoping to track progress on a few key goals. However, I wish there was a way to opt out of the premium offer for at least a period of time. Literally every time I open the app for the first time a day - which is the only time I want to use it, since I only use it to track one thing, thus the free version is all I need - it pops up a full screen offer for a discounted version of the premium subscription (an offer that allegedly expires though never actually seems to). Aside from the mounting annoyance I feel at that, it’s a good app. As advertised..Version: 1.41.10

Have to buy for each device no supportI bought this app which is expensive for what it does, thinking I could use across all my devices but you can’t, you have to buy separately for each device. Contacted support as soon as I realised the issue …10mins after purchase. Sent email through app, got an automated reply telling me to send email to a random email address, which I did still no reply and no refund, bad service, not impressed and now to top it off appears I can’t unsubscribe from the yearly subscription. Fuming.Version: 1.41.10

Removed features I paid for.The devs changed to a subscription, and removed the features I paid for as an early adopter without any warning or attempt at communicating. Not even an offer of a month or so free, considering I paid about 8 months of the subscription straight up to support the devs, this is highly unethical. Apple are refusing to refund as well, as it is “beyond the refund period”. Devs are uncontactable..Version: 1.41.0

Pay full price, be downgraded to free account.I never gave one star reviews and I hate giving bad reviews regarding the price of an app. But come on now, this was a great app and I paid the full one time fee. Now it’s the same as having a free account and I keep having annoying pop ups asking if I wanna go to premium. It’s really a first world problem but still is a bit disappointing. I’m deleting the app and asking for a refund. PS: asking to “give a review or make the devs sad” ... cmon’...Version: 1.41.0

Disgusting move!I already paid for the features before, and I’m pretty sure it said that I only needed to buy once for the features for permanent use, but now the features are all gone, and it requires an annual subscription fee for the features which I already paid for. This is so disgusting!.Version: 1.41.0

No support, not workingMy app at the premium level I have paid for is not working. I don’t get reminders and it doesn’t sync with my watch. Have emailed support and get no response. Frustrating ware of $17.Version: 1.41.10

WAS my favourite appThis app WAS fantastic, without a doubt 5 star, unlimited habit tracking for free and extremely easy to use and stylish interface with the option to upgrade for premium for a one off payment. However, since January it has been largely ruined by a change to the features of the free version and an increase in price of the premium version. I can’t add new habits anymore and when I try I instead get an infuriating premium discount offer that counts down from 72hr and then repeats on loop! I was very close to purchasing the premium version for a very reasonable one off payment of $7, but that has now been changed to $65/year subscription which is just ridiculous. This app has gone from a favourite to being very soon deleted if the ability to add new habits doesn’t come back very soon..Version: 1.41.3

Previously paid for premium now they charge annually??Like many others here I downloaded this app at the start of January and loved it so much that I paid for the lifetime premium features upgrade yet it has just been changed unannounced and wants to charge an annual fee of £40 with no mention of the fact that I have already paid. Restore purchase says it’s worked but doesn’t do anything. This is very disappointing because I loved the app. I sent them an email a few days ago but haven’t received a response so be warned!.Version: 1.41.0

Premium access revoked after purchase?!!?I paid for lifetime premium access to this app and now they switched to a subscription model and removed my premium access. This is an awful way to treat existing customers. Although I liked the features of this app, I will be switching to another one that doesn’t steal my money 🤷🏼‍♀️....Version: 1.41.0

Nice but...Just downloaded several different habit tracking apps, and the clean, simple, UI design of this is by far the appealing... but I’m deleting it. The reason being that a function so simple and obvious isn’t available: hourly reminders. What on earth isn’t this simple but of functionality available?! There tons of things one might want to do multiple times per day at regular intervals, and during a particular time window (eg between 9am-5pm), yet this isn’t provided for. In my case all I want to do is track the habit of doing 5 pushups every hour, on the hour, between 9am-5pm, but the app assumes we only have habits that need to be done once per day at most. This is a bit short sighted if you ask me..Version: 1.29

Removed my premium!!!I woke up this morning to my Habit app asking me to pay for an annual subscription to get all the premium features.. when two years ago I already paid what was supposed to be a one time fee that would keep my premium features forever. What the heck? You can’t just take my money and then remove the features I paid for until I pay again?!!.Version: 1.41.0

I regret paying for thisJust as the other recent reviewers mentioned, I paid for premium and the recent update switched to an unjustifiable and expensive subscription model. They now bug me to pay for this subscription. This is absolutely unacceptable. I regret supporting the developers previously..Version: 1.41.0

Good app, untrustworthy developers.Edit: Since the latest January 2021 update cancelled my previously purchased perpetual license and I had to pay another $20 to keep using premium for no reason, I have lost all respect for this app’s developers. I reached out to them via email regarding this, and their response was to straight up ignore me as though they hadn’t just taken my money and ran. Looking at the other reviews, this is now the norm for how these people operate. These developers do not respect you. They are not honest. They do not deserve your money. Original review: I really enjoy this app. The unique way of building up the percentage compared to just ticking off every day like you do with most habit trackers works better for me. If I miss a day, I feel like I can just pick up where I left off, rather than having to start over to complete a streak, and I love the visual feedback of the habits filling up, and the progress graph rising and falling. This is an app I recommend to people, that doesn’t happen often!.Version: 1.41.2

Changed service and took away features I paid forEdit: They finally got back to me and helped me restore my premium features. I’ll update again in a month or two if their are any more issues. Original comment: I started using this app a few months ago because it wasn’t a subscription model. I track habits off and on and didn’t want to pay monthly for something I’m not always using. At the time you could pay a one time fee of something like 5.99 to unlock everything and if you’re happy with the service you could pay 6.99 instead as a tip. I paid the 6.99 because I was so happy with the non subscription service. After using it for a few weeks I fell off of tracking and didn’t open the app for about 2-3 months.... (again, this is why I went with this app) Now that I have returned I no longer have all the services that I paid for and they are telling me to pay a monthly fee to unlock something I ALREADY paid for. I contacted them to get this fixed but they haven’t replied to any of my emails. If you offer a something for an amount of money you don’t take it away from people because your prices change. I already paid to unlock everything. Restoring my purchase doesn’t work and they are not responding. Really not happy with this...Version: 1.41.2

Extremely disappointedTaking away your promise for premium to the people who paid initially is extremely unethical. The least you could do is leave the persons who paid initially alone and then charge persons who have just started to use the app. So then, where has the money I originally put in gone?.. Since you have chosen to take the features away. Need an answer...Version: 1.41.0

Paid for premium now I’m asked to pay premium againUsed to love the app and paid the premium a few months back. Now with the new update they ask for more money and revert me back to non premium. So disappointed since I loved this app. Going to have to find a new habit tracker now since I’m not going to pay again..Version: 1.41.0

Not a customer friendly companyI’ve recently purchased your app considering it’s a one time payment and not a subscription based model. I had purchased it primarily to support your development. You have now removed features for which I had paid already and made your app a subscription-based model. I’m disappointed about this not because it’s a subscription-based model but you’ve not respected the already paid customers. You’ve changed the mode without any prior information and consent..Version: 1.41.0

Would be 5* just a few weeks agoPlease do not subscribe. I’m a React Native mobile developer and can tell you that this app could be developed by 1 person in a month. I downloaded this app and after testing it out and finding it useful, I decided to make a one-off purchase, it was absolutely worth it, I wouldn’t even mind paying a bit more. However, after only a few weeks of using it, it told me to pay again as the app changed its subscription model (in spite of no added functionalities). I contacted support and received an email saying that they would let me use the app for the price I paid for a year (as if it was a big favour). I paid with the intention to use it for the price I paid for an unlimited time. After the year passes, I will switch to a different app (or create my own scam-less app for myself and for you all)..Version: 1.41.2

Update Locks More ItemsThe widget used to be free, now it’s behind a paywall? Lame..Version: 1.41.0

Great but this update is worseI paid one time fee and now today it’s asking me to pay for premium. Could you please restore that purchase for premium I did. Restore from purchase doesn’t work. Thanks for restoration 5 stars or 1 star only. I am sending a complaint to Apple..Version: 1.41.0

Miss Represented (Scam)Paid for the premium version. At the time the app stated you paid what you thought was a fair price, and you would only have to pay once! I really appreciated this business model and selected this app for that reason. After trying it out for a few weeks, I purchased the premium version. Now, fast forward a month and the app is constantly asking me to pay for a subscription base model. The initial statement when I paid was that the it was a liftetime purchase, the app explicitly stated this. So disappointed, and I really enjoyed this app, initially:(.Version: 1.41.0

Total scamI paid for lifetime access to this app a few months ago (before the subscription model was introduced), however now I have to pay for the subscription for this app to be even a little bit useful. Have contacted the developers in every way possible, but no reply for weeks already. Stay away from this app because it’s a straight-up scam, and furthermore they don’t care about user privacy at all!.Version: 1.41.1

It was amazing AT FIRSTWhen I got this app in early 2020 it was really amazing and helpful, I could add and change as many habits as I wanted! It was really a 5 star! However! The newest update took everything away and it’s basically just you need to pay to use it now. It’s not worth it. Judging from the other reviews the payments are dodgy too, I suppose it’s time to move onto another app instead of this one. Very disappointed..Version: 1.41.0

Please fix these glitchesI like the app and the layout a lot. I use it often. However it is very glitchy. When you change the title of your habit the score changes too, this frustrates me. Also very often the ticks disappear, so you can’t keep accurate tracking, which is whole point of the app… please fix these as I really like it the concept and UI.Version: 1.41.10

Paying for premium twice??I used to love this app, but the latest update rolled back features I had previously paid to unlock and introduced an unreasonable subscription model. Truly a habit (and deal) breaker..Version: 1.41.0

Good app, terrible customer treatmentI downloaded the app at the start of January, paid the ‘one-time lifetime cost’ for Premium so that I could have more colours, widget, and notifications. Three weeks later, the app has been updated and I’ve been reverted to the free version and offered a new premium annual subscription! No evidence in the app whatsoever that I’ve already paid for premium, they’ve changed their business model unannounced and expect their users to give them more money without question. It’s frustrating, because I really like the app, but this is a very disappointing experience and I’m going to look elsewhere for a similar app where the developers treat their users with more respect..Version: 1.41.0

Great FREE functionality, poor premium price pointThis app has great functionality, simple user friendly design and has proved itself to be a valuable habit tracking tool. However, the premium price point is very disappointing. To me, the original premium price of $7.99 was a generous price for the user to pay (ie, the features were overpriced for the extra features you received) and now after the most recent update, premium features now cost $65 as an annual subscription, which is ridiculous and complete not worth the money for what the app offers. Any thoughts I had of paying for the premium to support the app for doing its job well are now completely gone. Not to mention the constant pop ups asking me to subscribe. Very greedy and disappointing! And after reading recent reviews I am actively looking for an alternative!.Version: 1.41.2

Taken away features from paying customersPeoples paid for features and then they were removed. Money didn’t even get refunded. This is ridiculous that this can even happen on the app store.Version: 1.41.0

Mediocre app - find something betterI gave 3 stars (EDIT- Corrected to 1 star!). The premium update is disappointing and Contacting them for assistance is useless I would specifically give 1 star (or less) for that. I had previously paid for premium before it updated to a monthly cost. After the update it removed my premium status and now each time I open the app it asks about paying for premium. It says the “deal” will only last for a few days yet this has been appearing for months probably now. I had emailed the developers about how to redeem my previous status as a premium paid app and received no response- disappointing. What’s the point of a contact us option if you don’t actually respond? I had clicked the redeem my premium option, it said my premium was redeemed and yet the app didn’t reflect it- disappointing. I had already paid. If you aren’t willing to uphold prior agreements for premium status and payments made for the premium status then given a refund. Maybe writing an upset review will finally get the developers attention and make them care to respond. EDIT- I sent a follow up email, after a few weeks they finally responded. At that point it wasn’t worth it. All the comments on these negative reviews seem to be copied and nothing genuine. Disappointing but I just uninstalled the app for something better..Version: 1.41.2

Free version is very basicI’d been looking for a good habit tracker and this seemed great until I downloaded it and realised how very basic the free version is. The overview page only shows you a week view (it would be much better to see a daily view) and the percentage completion figures are confusing - I assume they relate to a month but that makes no since when the overview is a week. There’s no way to see your overall percentage or streaks for all of the habits - just the individual ones. I get that the paid version has lots of features but the free version doesn’t seem worth bothering with sadly..Version: 1.20

What happened to my premium ?Upgraded this app mid January to premium for a “pay only once for lifetime of premium” Paid the upgrade price , got my premium features and all was great . Loved the fact this was NOT a subscription app . Latest upgrade removed my premium ? Removed the features paid for , downgraded me back to the “free” version and now prompts me every item I open it to subscribe !! For an ongoing subscription fee . Tried to restore purchase and nothing happens . So I paid for nothing . Not cool developers . You’ve left myself and many others with the free version after you took our money and took away our premium. Are you going to fix this and give us back the lifetime we paid for ?.Version: 1.41.0

App ruined and customers ripped off.I loved the simplicity of this app and I paid to unlock it. Yes I’ve paid to unlock it. Now it’s suddenly changed and I’m locked out of the features I’ve already paid for and I’m expected to pay a monthly subscription to use it. Why on earth would I want to pay a monthly subscription???? I don’t even want any of the extra new features that I’m expected to pay for. All I want is for the features I’ve already paid for to be unlocked. What a way to treat the customers that have supported you. Rip off. Time to find a new app..Version: 1.41.0

Both the Best and Most Annoying App I’ve Ever UsedI’ve been using this app for a few months now and I’ve found it incredibly helpful! Even the free version is packed with features and it’s so simple and easy to use! I love seeing the percentage go up and checking off the days. The graphs are great as well. But..... THIS APP HAS GOTTEN SO ANNOYING Since January 1, 2021, the app has been offering a special on premium paid features. It’s a free app with upgrades, so that makes since and I don’t mind the little reminder at the top. But, EVERY TIME, I open the app (and I mean, EVERY TIME, no matter how long I’ve had it closed, seconds...or hours...) this ad for the special pops up. You have to hit the “x” EVERY SINGLE TIME. At first this seemed like a temporary special, but no, it’s happened EVERY SINGLE DAY SINCE I’VE OPENED THE APP (since Jan. 1). There’s absolutely no option, that I can find, to decline the offer for good. Honestly, I love the app, but to keep dismissing the ad every single time I open the app is becoming one of the most annoying things I’ve ever seen. If I have to put up with this longer, I will stop using this app. Oh, and I’ve tried to email their support...but it just sent an auto reply that told me to resend, RESEND, my original request to a new email address..Version: 1.41.1

Great but don’t pay for premiumBeautifully designed app. Works great in the free version but the widget unlocked by the premium version doesn’t work after extensive trouble shooting (multiple app deletes, iPhone restarts etc). The app constantly ‘forgets’ you’ve paid for premium as well. I would hold off paying for premium until this is explicitly fixed in a patch note..Version: 1.41.0

You have broken the App Store terms of serviceBy removing the premium function I paid for as a lifetime purchase, you have broken the App Store terms of service as follows: “If you are changing your existing app to a subscription-based business model, you should not take away the primary functionality existing users have already paid for. For example, let customers who have already purchased a “full game unlock” continue to access the full game after you introduce a subscription model for new customers.” As you haven’t replied to any of mine or others emails or Instagram messages, I have reported you to Apple for breaching these terms..Version: 1.41.0

Used to love until...I used to love this app. So simple, easy to add a habit goal, and then check off the days when I met it. Ever since the new year however I’ve been getting pesky “offers” to upgrade to premium that just will. not. go. away. “This offer ends in 70 hours!” Well, it does end after 70 hours, only to be replaced by a new one. I decided to keep using the app and resign myself to just ignoring the now permanent “offer countdown” that persists at the top, but then I wanted to delete one of my habits and add a new one in its place... The app let me delete an existing habit goal, but when I tried to add a different one in its place the “+” button for adding a habit reroutes me to.... the latest offer for premium. Is this a bug? Can I no longer use the free version of the app? I’m so disappointed because I had really been loving the simple version of the app as it was... now it’s becoming more nuisance than it’s worth. Will be looking for an alternative sadly :(.Version: 1.41.2

Shameful and predatory development practicesHaving bought the premium version of the app, I expect to be able to use the premium features perpetually. Instead the developer has shifted to an annual subscription model, and my previously bought premium version is nullified. I understand stand the shift to a subscription model from a business perspective, however it is a predatory and unfaithful to your early supporters to revoke access to features they bought outright. Another app called Strong (workout app) had a similar shift of business model, and honoured people who previously purchased the premium version while allowing new customers on to the subscription model. You should look to them for an example of integrity. The app itself is decent, but I would not suggest that anyone support these developers given the number of alternative habit apps out there..Version: 1.41.6

Price GougeLoved the app, upgraded to premium previously and now I update to discover they want a subscription fee to use the widget which was the best part. Heck no. What a joke..Version: 1.41.0

Dumb updateI already paid a one time fee for premium and guess what? Now I have to pay MONTHLY for the perks I was already enjoying, and now that I paid it won’t even let me use the widget and keeps telling me to get premium EVEN THOUGH I JUST DID. Messed up app.Version: 1.41.0

😐😐😐Last year I paid to premium that was saying that would be forever. Now there was an update and is charging me again! Really???.Version: 1.41.0

RefundI started using this app a month ago and I kindly paid the (optional) $7 appreciation price for all the “premium” features. Now they are charging an ANNUAL fee? I’ve already paid for the premium features....and now they’ve all disappeared. I can’t access the features that I’ve initially PAID FOR. This is ridiculous. I paid the one time price for a product and now I can’t even use it. Developers of habit, I’d like a refund since I no longer have access to these features. Otherwise you’re pretty much robbing me & all other who have previously paid for the flat fee to use the premium features on this app..Version: 1.41.0

:(I loved this app! Used it every day with joy. Paid the one off premium price I thought was fair when it said it was "lifetime". Then a few days ago I open the app to a big aggressive upgrade takeover and find out my premium upgrade was gone, along with all the features I paid for. So disappointed.. please restore purchases to everyone who already upgraded before you switched to a subscription!.Version: 1.41.0

Money GrabI paid $6.99 for the premium version of the app on Jan 12, 2021. Two week later I’ve been reduced to the free version and being asked to pay a monthly subscription free. Terrible money grab..Version: 1.41.0

Shady business practicesI paid a one time fee to access premium features and now in the latest release those features have been put behind a subscription meaning I can no longer access them. I have no problem with subscription models but removing features from someone that paid for them already is pretty crappy..Version: 1.41.0

DisappointedI decided to buy the premium version of this app before the new update where you have to pay $15/year. Right after I bought the premium version I never got the widget as promised. I reached out to the developers via instagram with no response. Now with the new update, the premium version that I paid for is still not working, and I’m getting bombarded with pop ups to upgrade to premium (although I’ve already paid!) I tried to restore my purchase and nothing is working once again. I’m really upset with this app and think others should skip this and save their money..Version: 1.41.0

Recent bug ruined the app for meI paid for the upgraded Habit in 2019 and I have been using it since. Honestly, it has worked perfectly for me. I love the algorithm and the simplicity. It’s satisfying to fill in your habits. And then, out of nowhere, the tracker starts pushing me to upgrade... even though I’ve already upgraded. It’s pushing a New Years sale and the notification is persistent. When I went to restore purchases it said my purchases were restored and then... nothing. I deleted the app and redownloaded it, thinking that would help. I subsequently lost all of my data, all of my habits, and all of their progress. Worse, the “restore purchase” still won’t work. I emailed support a week ago and have had no response. It’s upsetting because Habit had become a part of my daily life and now I feel so defeated looking at it. I would love to have this resolved but with no communication from the team, I suppose I’ll start looking for a new habit tracker..Version: 1.41.0

I purchased Premium and it stopped workingI bought premium already. But now there is annoying pop up messages asking me to subscribe when opening the APP. And I am not able to use the features I have already paid for(dark mode, back up to cloud and etc.). I feel it is unfair to get forced to subscribe and need pay for annual membership in order to use the features I have paid for already. I also tried “restore purchase”. It does not work. Please fix it..Version: 1.41.0

“Incredible” to “shady” overnightDon’t advertise something as a one time fee to get features for a lifetime, and then force those people to pay. (The free version of this app is now bad, too. You’ll see an ad to buy premium every time you open it.).Version: 1.41.0

ScamI payed for this app less than a year ago for 8$ to have the « premium » features of unlimited tasks and the widget... now the app is coming with a 50$ a year price and no longer recognize the premium I already paid. Big scam.Version: 1.41.0

Liars!!These guys are liars!!!! They made me pay a one time fee to gain access to all the exclusive features and now they are forcing me into a yearly subscription😡😡🤬.Version: 1.41.0

Already paid for premium... now being charged againI reached out to support, as I thought that would be the best first course of action(and more respectful), but have received no response. As many others have mentioned in the reviews, I had already paid for premium and am now being forced to pay for a subscription for the same features to be reinstated. This app was decent for the price I already paid, but there is nothing revolutionary about it and it is certainly not worth the subscription. I hope the team reconsider the subscription model..Version: 1.41.0

The devs are liars and thievesYou can’t remove a lifetime premium subscription and replace it with an annual fee! I can’t imagine how you think this dinky little app is worth that much. Simply pathetic..Version: 1.41.0

Premium for what was already paid???I’ve already paid for a lifetime access and for all features on the app before you introduced the premium! This problem with premium has been for the past one month. Developers have done nothing so far to fix the problem. Whoever is answering is just copy/paste answer and doesn’t even read reviews. I don’t understand why it is so hard to fix and get the access for all who already paid. And now, I thought the new update is going to fix before I decide to request my money back from Apple, but it did nothing. The ad for the premium pops up every time I open the app, then it stays on top of all my habits, which is very distracting. Besides, some of my habits tracking disappeared. I think it’s time to look for another app. Too sad, from such a simple and transparent app you became shady and annoying..Version: 1.41.1

Bait and switch. Bad practice to take away what users have already paid forLike many other complaining users here, I bought the app last summer. I’ve been using it just fine, until this week it told me I need to pay for premium. I still hold a grudge against the app maker that did this on a grocery list app I used up until about four years ago. That app started charging a subscription a couple years after I’d paid to install and use it, but then within another year or so they stop supporting the app altogether. I wonder if that’s what’s going to happen with this app? Because they are showing us their bad business decisions or poor financial planning and that they are not sustainable selling an app and keeping their customers happy. Instead, they bait and switch us and start charging us for something we’ve already bought. In any case, this one goes in the trash now..Version: 1.41.0

Was great, now just greedyIt was really great and useful, that’s why I paid for the lifetime premium features. Today it suddenly locked all premium features and is asking for an annual subscription of the same features that I already paid for with no prior warning and no mention in the app update notes. This is unacceptable.Version: 1.41.0

Features taken away with new subscription pricingI swipe over to my widgets to check off a habit and find that I no longer have a widget because it has been taken away unless I pay for a premium subscription! I already paid for the premium version, but now features have been taken away from me! How dare you. It’s a simple little app, worth a small price to buy, of course, but not a monthly subscription fee. It’s usefulness comes mainly from the widget and you’ve taken that away. Inconsiderate move..Version: 1.41.0

Decent for loggingI’ve been using this for a while and it’s a great free app for tracking habits, but it’s algorithm for percent is a little weird. You start off at 0% and it takes months with no gaps to get to 100% it makes learning a new habit really daunting. I have a weekly goal so I wish it would reset weekly, slowly working up to 100% for the week so I get that satisfaction. Alternatively, starting at a 100% and going down everytime you forget to reach your goal would be more motivation to keep your good score, instead of working really hard for you percent to barely move up. That’s why it’s good for tracking but if you really want to hold yourself to something that’s difficult it can be a bit discouraging..Version: 1.30

Stupid UpdateI paid for lifetime upgrade back in aug 2020. The new update completely deleted my settings and is now asking me to upgrade again for monthly or yearly subscriptions Pls fix.Version: 1.41.0

DO NOT UPDATE!Awful! I paid one-off payment for premium access, and had use of widget and unlimited habits, and continually used the app daily. I thought the app was great but since updating in Feb 2021 the company have changed their payment model meaning I have been downgraded to basic account and lost all of the features I had PAID FOR. Will 100% be deleting the app and using one of the multitude of other habit trackers available on the app market. Incredibly disappointed, they have made a terrible decision to do this and will no doubt be losing many of their existing users..Version: 1.41.0

It’s overThey went for the cash grab and decided to undo everyone’s past premium purchase in hopes of forcing people to the monthly subscription. Not replying to emails or Instagram messages. Really gross. Never using the app again..Version: 1.41.0

Loved it before but nowI really loved this app because of how simple and easy to use it was but now it’s almost unusable. I don’t want to upgrade to premium because I don’t need any of those features but I get constant pop-ups advertising a “limited time offer”. First off, limited means it’s going away and yet every five seconds I get the same offer. There should be a way to say no thanks and stop asking. I really did prefer this app over any other habit trackers because it was exactly what I was looking for but now I don’t want to support such a greedy set up. If you are going to have a free option it should still be useable all on its own. Because of all the pop ups now the app freezes up and it’s just frustrating to see a genuinely good product get mangled by poor marketing..Version: 1.41.3

What’s exactly the point of the free version? So I’ve been using this app on & off again, and I could have honestly said that it worked GREAT for the months that I used it… which was about three years ago. I had about 12 different habits, and they were all sorted in rainbow order, and it was awesome. I recently redownloaded the new app, and well, how many habits can I make? THREE. If I try to add any more, it brings up a screen to purchase the premium version. Guess what? I don’t care about dark mode! Premium version never seemed to be enough for me to actually purchase it, but I was satisfied enough with the free version because of its simple UI. What makes me frustrated is the fact that I now have to pay to make more than three habits. What exactly this brings to the game isn’t much— just simplicity. I refuse to pay $90 a year for an app this simple, especially when there are SO MANY other apps that do the exact same thing, but for the free, and even better. Furthermore, what I find odd is that the UI for purchasing the premium version is almost exactly the same as the one for a different app. And by funny, I mean incredibly suspicious— the wording was the same, down to the “Great Gift for Yourself” or whatever..Version: 1.41.5

Scamming customers!!The app has just recently changed its premium payment system. Before the update it was a few dollars for the premium version. Now it’s updated, it’s a subscription service that’s an insane price of $30 a year. Even though I paid for premium BEFORE the update, I now no longer have access to it. So they took customers money, and are now asking for far, far more, for the exact same features. Worse than that, I have emailed twice to find out about the situation and have received no response. Terrible customer service. I would switch to a new app but I don’t want to lose my data and guess what? I can’t back it up without premium. Honestly a despicable scam. Use another app - this one is just as ordinary as any other, probably with less features and is now scamming its customers..Version: 1.41.0

Screwing long time usersI paid for the app a while ago and now it’s asking me for more money like three times the original amount that I paid for it. I expect all the features I originally paid for including dark mode to be restored. I tried to add the widget and then the app reset itself *and turned off dark mode* to start giving me messages asking for more money. I will delete this app faster than you can say price gouging if my paid-for features are not restored. Hitting “restore purchase” does nothing. It brings up a screen that says my purchases have been restored, but the app functionality remains at the free version. Update: Restore purchases finally worked. However I am still annoyed with the exorbitant price increase from $12 to $40. What exactly was added to the app or improved within it to justify charging $40 per year? I will probably use this app for the rest of the year and then cancel. It was a perfect software, the algorithm that calculates percentage is unique from a behavioral standpoint, but I’m not sure that unique aspect is worth an extra $28 per year..Version: 1.41.1

Disappointing ChangeI have had this app for 2 years, and paid the one-time fee to become premium. I previously rated this app 5 stars, because the interface is clean and elegant. I used to love this app. However, with the most recent update, the premium people lose the premium features and get relegated to a basic account, with constant nagging to subscribe to a subscription, which appears to be the developer’s new business model. I think it’s important for people and companies to stand by their word, and if they say you get premium for a one-time lifetime payment, they shouldn’t go back on their word. If the developer wants to use a subscription model for future customers, that’s their right. However, don’t backtrack on your past commitments..Version: 1.41.0

PremiumI used to love this app. I bought premium last year when it was like $2 for premium forever and now it’s saying I have to buy premium again. The app is glitching and won’t work and even when I paid AGAIN for premium, it won’t let me have the paid parts and keeps trying to get me to buy premium over and over again..Version: 1.41.0

The developer owes us all an explanationThis app now requires a SUBSCRIPTION even if you have PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED the app. Yes, it seems that after a single quiet update the premium version of this app has changed from a one-off purchase to a subscription, and now my previous premium purchase is now void. I have tried the Restore Purchase function to no avail. I have lost access to the widget and dark mode functionality I was promised, and now Habit aggressively advertises its new premium subscription whenever I open it - advertising the features that I already paid for and have been using for weeks. Developer, please tell us this is a bug and not a deliberate trick. It would be very convenient for you if the Restore Purchase function was bugged for several days, wouldn’t it? I imagine a lot of confused users have already transitioned over to the subscription, having forgotten that they already paid for premium. I very nearly did. I urge anyone considering using this app to wait for an explanation from the developer. You cannot trust them with your money or data until then..Version: 1.41.0

Greedy updateThis was an awesome app and I was planning on paying for the premium features, but without warning the developer changed it from a one time $5 for life purchase to a $50 PER YEAR subscription. Not all apps need to have subscriptions, and a simple one like this falls into that category in my opinion. If you want to limit the amount of free habits so after say 10 people have to buy the full price (one time fee), great, I understand. But to increase the price by 10x and make it annual with zero heads up and not grandfathering in prior paying customers is just wrong. I always recommend this app to people trying to improve their life, but in its current state I can not. Tip to the developer: Revert the change back, and cut down development on the app to only critical updates. It’s near perfect as is so if you can keep it updated to work on new IOS versions it would be fine. Use that extra time to work on a new app that you can set up with a subscription from the start. That way your loyal customers will not be burned, and anyone checking out your new app will know what they are getting into..Version: 1.41.0

Made me pay twice!Had an update this week and asked me to pay again! I already paid for lifetime version a month ago! Didnt know lifetime was a month! Not it took 52.99 and still cant have the widget fonction! Loved this app before but now I’m really disappointed!!.Version: 1.41.0

Widget doesn’t workPurchased the in app purchase for the widgets but it doesn’t work. Having a hard time getting a refund or explanation from the developer. Avoid purchasing! Edit: Now it seems they’ve gone to a subscription model and my previous in app purchase is gone! The functions I had before are no longer working and behind a subscription. Avoid this app at all costs..Version: 1.41.0

Premium features not worth premium priceThe base app is OK. It’s interesting that there’s a proprietary algorithm to determine how strong a habit is. On the other hand, I regret purchasing a premium subscription already. It seems unlocking unlimited habits is the only benefit. Fine, but what about adding something actually innovative like habit tracking within a given day? For example, if I’m trying to form the habit of drinking at least four liters of water a day, then the app could let me check off each time I drink a liter. The devs could just add a check or count for each sub-habit and feed that into whatever variable, etc the app counts as the overarching habit. This is just one simple idea. I’m sure there are many more features which could be added to make premium worth it. As it stands, I cannot recommend the premium subscription and would recommend trying other Habit apps before committing to this Habit lol.Version: 1.41.10

Seriously DisappointedI’ve been using Habit throughout the most of 2020 and paid for the small original premium upgrade to access the dark mode theme, now only to find you’ve ripped that away from me because you’ve moved to a subscription model. Where is my dark mode now? Totally unavailable unless I pay $65 a year for the same functionality I had a day ago. You’ve made an app that I found incredibly valuable and helpful suddenly absolutely worthless to me. It is unacceptable, and unethical, for your existing users to suffer for your change of mind. This is a perfect example of how not to treat your customers..Version: 1.41.0

Was a good app until nowI’d paid for the premium version months ago and now they’ve made it a subscription app with no recognition of previous upgrades. I emailed the developer with no response. They removed features that I’d already paid for (dark mode, extended notifications, widget) and advertise the premium subscription every time I open the app Big dislike 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻.Version: 1.41.0

Bait and switchI purchased premium but with the latest update all my premium features were taken away and replaced by a subscription..Version: 1.41.0

Removal of premium. The app is useful and i enjoyed it for the 600 or so days i’ve used it. i purchased the “one time payment” of premium and now they’ve updated to being a 15.99 monthly payment. the bonuses aren’t worth that..Version: 1.41.0

There’s room for improvementI like the simplicity in the app that you create. But don’t you think paid users should have a little bit more of control over how the app’s display should be? For example, there’s a question in “how it works” that asks why there’re only 5 days on the home screen, when I read the response I didn’t think it answered the question. And there should be a calendar view of ALL habits, that’d be really helpful ..Version: 1.29

Bait and switch premiumFantastic product ruined by subscription scheme. Pay to unlock all the features until we feel like you owe us more money..Version: 1.41.0

Fell from graceI purchased the one-off premium version of this app and it was revoked when the subscription model came into effect. I expect the one-off purchase to be honoured as agreed. Happy to change my review if this is a mistake and it gets fixed. Currently haven’t received any communication or response from emails either. However I also think this app needs to be offering a lot more than it does to be worth a subscription pricing model. Think about things like insights, community, encouragement, tips etc. before trying to apply a pricing model like this. Additionally it recently became spammy and.Version: 1.41.0

Not ok with thisThis app is awesome! I paid for premium because I love it and then........ there is an update and I’m constantly being asked to pay to subscribe. My benefits of having already paid are gone and after emailing the developer a few days ago no response. This is just not an ok way to do business. I would like access back to what I had paid for, I do not wish to pay again..Version: 1.41.0

Needs syncWould love to see sync feature - a super light app bit just spent a bit of time setting it up on my iPad and realise there’s no way to sync between devices which makes me a bit nervous in case I accidentally delete the app - all the historical data will be gone..Version: 1.28

I have to pay a sub fee?!I paid for a one time fee, now I have to pay for subscription? Um wth!!.Version: 1.41.0

Used to be good - now it’s basically a scamI got this app ages ago and it was really great for ages. I paid for the premium version of the app because it was a good app. Now they have updated the app and stripped out the features that as a premium user I had ALREADY PAID FOR. If I want those features back I now have to pay an annual subscription fee which extortionately high. I’m obviously not going to do this and I incredibly angry I’ve lost features I already paid for. It’s basically just scamming its existing user base now. Going to look into moving to a new app, I just wish I could get back the money I’ve already paid for this app..Version: 1.41.0

Terrible App With Predatory Pricing ModelRecently bought the app for $7 after deciding that the widgets were worth it for me. With their recent updat they’ve made it so it costs ~$60 PER YEAR via a subscription. Even worse, they’ve made it so everyone who purchased previously is now only considered a free account, so we lose the functionally we had before. One degree from a straight up scam, I already reached out for a refund. $7.Version: 1.41.0

Good but a bit disappointedI’ve enjoyed using this app until recently. I previously had paid for premium membership which seems to now count for nothing after the new update. Also the widget no longer functions. Despite paying again now they’ve switched to a subscription based model the widget now functions as nothing more than an annoying advert telling me I must upgrade..Version: 1.41.0

Paid a one time fee in November 2020 that’s now I deleteI thought I was imagining this when the app started prompting me to subscribe, but I just checked my email and I definitely paid for this app already. Now they are using a subscription model that has all the features I originally paid for. So am I getting my money back @ developers? This app isn’t worth it without the features..Version: 1.41.0

DisappointingI used to really like the app, I had been using the free app for about a year. I enjoy the basic features and the upgrade just wasn’t worth it (I’m not interested in paying for colours or reminders). However, I deleted a habit by accident and now I have to pay to get it back! The annoying ‘gift to yourself’ banner with a count down timer apparently is a permanent fixture and somewhat reminiscent of ground hog day as it just keeps resetting! I have deleted it now and found another habit tracker which is much better!.Version: 1.41.2

Money grabPaid for the premium version of this app for $7 and less than a month later after the most recent update it has reverted back to the free version despite my payment going through and I am now being nagged to pay for an expensive monthly subscription..Version: 1.41.0

Getting greedyEdit: Seems like many people are having the same issue and the devs are ignoring everyone. What a scammy company I'm switching to Streaks it's better anyways it adds things to apple health and has custom icons and you can set multiple reminders. apple watch support and an updated ios14 widget. I've had this app for a long time. I loved it and I even paid for the premium. But after the newest update they decided to change the premium price and make it into a subscription type fee. It is cheap right now only 12 bucks but it shows that the original price is 40 bucks?!?! seriously that's a rip off for a habit tracker. The kicker is that since it changed the price and how you pay it took away my premium and now expects me to pay for it a second time. if they are going to take away peoples premium then they should refund them their money I feel bad for the people who just bought it only for it to be taken away..Version: 1.41.0

UnethicalThis used to be a good app, which was pleasant to use. They have now changed to a pricey subscription model (far too expensive for what it offers when compared with other subscription apps). I was recently considering the one-off in-app purchase but I’m so glad I didn’t pay, as all the recent reviews here speak for themselves - the company is trying to re-charge those who have paid once for the lifetime upgrade for something they’ve already bought, and revoked their access to premium features. They also spam you every time you open the app, with a never-ending “limited time offer” that just resets. Completely unethical and appalling behaviour. No idea how this got past Apple’s requirements. Time to find a new habit tracking app..Version: 1.41.2

Removed all IAP features and hid them behind a subscriptionPaid for the IAP. All worked fine until last update, whose version notes make no mention of what they intended to do in an automated update. They’ve removed all the premium functionality the IAP paid for and hid it behind their subscription model. If you want to move to subscriptions fine, insist users install a new version and don’t bother updating this one. What is repugnant is taking away what has been paid for and insisting it must be paid for again..Version: 1.41.0

Don’t live up to their wordOn August 6, 2020 I purchased the premium version of Habit. It was not a subscription then. It was a flat fee. I was confused about how the subscription worked. So before I purchased it I sent them an email asking them to explain what I was purchasing. I still have there email and this is what they said...... “ You are free to choose how much to pay for premium functionality. You only pay once and all current and future function forever yours!” ......I quit using it because I think I was trying to change too many habits at one time. A few weeks ago I decided to try it again. When I opened it, I received a message that said that I needed to pay for a subscription. All of my premium functions were gone. I have sent them several emails about the situation and they have been ignoring me. I understand that they felt the need to change their pricing structure. But I do not believe that it is correct for them to take away something I paid for already. Something they told me I would have forever including all current and future functions. I would give this APP 5 stars but I had to give it only 1 star because of their lack of integrity and customer service..Version: 1.41.3

Shady paid subscription in setupI installed the app wanted to quickly check it out and see if it would work well for me. I’m clicking through the continue buttons after I opened up the app, again, just trying to see what the daily app experience is like. Suddenly one of the continue buttons requests my thumb print. I assumed it had something to do with permissions and then all of a sudden I’ve apparently purchased a yearly subscription to this app I haven’t even been able to try yet. To be entirely fair, i should have been paying more attention. But the continue button suddenly charging you for a subscription is crazy shady… I don’t even care how the actual app is now and already deleted it. I’ve requested a refund through Apple as well. If you want to check this app out, just be careful when starting it up for the first time..Version: 1.41.4

Only missing one feature & it would be perfect!Love the clean & clear format & user interface. Simple at a glance snapshots. I keep detailed records in other aps like Nike Run & my fitness pal, but Habit Tracker gives me the push notification reminders i need to drink more water, change the cat litter tray & move etc. The only thing missing for me, which is actually a biggy, is the option to set multiple reminders for the same habit, so hourly reminders to drink water, am/pm options for medication etc..Version: 1.20

Percentage Makes No SenseI love this app but the percentage it shows for my habits makes no sense. I now haven’t ticked off one of my habits for over a month but it still shows as 100%... I don’t know if I’m not understanding what the percentages should be but I’m pretty sure if I haven’t done something for a month that it shouldn’t be saying 100%. Otherwise the app is great and I love how it looks. Just wish this would be fixed as it makes it way less helpful..Version: 1.33

Where is my lifetime premiumI already paid for the “pay once for lifetime” premium. The current payment model has changed to a subscription basis. However the developer should honour the previous agreement and provide premium access to those that paid before the change.Version: 1.41.0

Ripped off long time userI bought the extra features a number of months ago, now since they launched at subscription option, I have now lost some features I had before. Like the widget. Now I am getting an ad each time I open my app. This sucks..Version: 1.41.0

Bad product, bad companyI used to love this app, the ui is simple and easy to navigate with little features that distract from the core purpose. But the company has the worst customer service I have ever seen. 2 weeks no response from them. I have spent over $70 on donating to them over the past year of my use of this app because I love it and supported their product. The main reason I supported it was because they didn’t charge a monthly fee. Guess what they do now. The latest update took away my premium access and now is asking for a monthly fee to use use this very simple app that they have done little to update on a monthly basis. I wish I could get a refund for all the donations I have made to the developers but this is the best I can do. If I have any advice, don’t download this app, there are 500 just like it that also charge a monthly subscription fee and they offer more features. This was a great app but now it is just another crappy habit tracking app. Horrible horrible people that are vile to this earth, I only wish them a hard time because they used to be my favorite..Version: 1.41.0

Widget not working even when paidThe app is amazing, you should definitely download it’s amazing and motivating. Because of this I bought the premium package and the app promised me the widgets feature but I’m not able to add the Habit widget after restarting my phone twice, developers please respond ASAP..Version: 1.39
