✓ I REALLY want to love it!I purchased the full subscription to the Filmm app, and yet it keeps trying to charge me for absolutely everything. I even accidentally paid an additional $3.99 or something while trying to use a filter I already have! And today even that purchase doesn’t reflect in my app and I’m back to the free ones that come with the download. I wrote support. Please fix my app!!! Stories also don’t display in order, but I read that’s being worked on. I really like the idea of it and think it was about time something like this was launched. I would love to eventually see more editing options for the subscription price..Version: 1.0
✓ It’s ...okYou can’t add sounds/songs/slo mo effects etc so all of that has to be done prior. You can’t edit the watermark (even if you pay for the full version) you can only remove it. You cannot make ur own watermark. It’s alright if you’re into vintage looking video but the free version doesn’t come with much else that’s not available on free apps also offer..Version: 1.0

✓ Manual save of all changes??I deleted clips and shortened clips just like any regular edit. After recording the voiceover being done with the video, I said the voiceover went back to the editing menu, and suddenly the videos I deleted were back, and the clips that I had cut down! I spent $30 for the year subscription and it is already glitched out, pushing me out of the app twice! I spent way too long on this which defeats the whole purpose because I got this app so I didn’t have to export everything to a computer. This whole thing with the changes not saving is extremely annoying and I’ve already have to redo all of my changes multiple times, and I have literally cried for the time wasted. And yes, I saved all my changes manually, which is also ridiculous. I think it is really cool all the stuff you can do with the app like the easy voiceover and the transitions! But there’s nothing I can do if it can’t complete basic functions. Is there someway I can get a refund?.Version: 3.9.3

✓ Very glitchyI paid for the app so I had access to everything, the app is great but it is SO glitchy and hours of my time have been wasted trying to make videos for the app to not function properly or say the project can’t be edited because it’s not in the right format - despite the fact it was edited using this app?! Customer service/support do not respond either so you often lose hours of your life editing videos that never see the light of day due to the glitches. My main issue at the moment is I am trying to edit clips with sound and some muted, when I download the video ALL the clips have sound, so frustrating!.Version: 3.9.3
✓ Why is my video not saving?Hi, I don’t want to be that person saying bad things about the app. I think there is lots of potential and I really want to utilize it. However, I’d love to hear from the app creators why I have been trying to save the and video all day and it won’t download after I’ve added your filters and everything. I’ve tried on WiFi and WiFi. I let my phone sit while it “downloaded” for over an hour (twice) and when it said it had no more download bar left I checked to see if there was a button to click, or if it was already saved to my phone. ✓ Requires subscriptionI like the idea, but the app comes with very few free filters, and the rest requires you to subscribe for $30 a year, which is not something I’m prepared to pay for my 23 instragram story watchers to see. ✓ Great editing options, a little glitchyI LOVE the editing options this app has and the frame choices are gorgeous! It isn’t as user friendly as I would like and I have had to edit in other video editing apps and then use this one for finishing touches. I wish I had a little more flexibility per clip, and that I could arrange the clips easily. It can be very time consuming and end up not working how I would have liked. I will for sure continue to use this app and hope that they continue to update and improve the usability..Version: 3.9.3
✓ I came back hoping a few things were fixed…But they’re not. When you upload a video and try to cut it in multiple places — so that you can speed up the unimportant stuff and slow down the important stuff — it’s impossible. You cut the video and it just duplicates the intro without allowing you to actually make cuts where you need to. You can cut out a chunk of video but you can’t slice it into parts. It looks like that button is there but it’s unresponsive. Nothing happens when I click it. And if you try to change the speed of one clip, it changes the speed of them all if it came from the one video you uploaded. So I guess you have to upload the same video multiple times to cut it up and change the speeds? Weird. Not an easy or intuitive app to use. I also purchased the subscription but it’s still showing the timer/watermark on the bottom left side..Version: 3.8.3
✓ Love this app but...I cannot tell you how happy I am that they added voiceover. This is the best alternative to iMovie, I was about to look for another app because they didn’t have voiceover. The only issue I have and it’s a big one because it requires me to use other apps still is the clip editing. You cannot edit clips in more than one way. I want to clip or shorten or do multiple things to different clips but I can’t it only allows one edit. Super frustrating. Sometimes I need to cut out a section, but I also want to shorten the length. I should be able to do multiple edits on clips. I also reached out to support prior receiving my IPad to insure it would work and they told me it would despite the description saying it was for IPhone. That was untrue. ✓ Great App! Please fix the crashing 🥺This app is hands down the best way to go about creating video projects. However, there has not been a single project I’ve attempted to create that has not required multiple attempts due to the fact that the app constantly crashes. Or if I’m unable to complete my project in one setting, it doesn’t appear in my saved items, even though I go through the steps properly. It’s really frustrating, but I have done so much leg work and I still feel that this is the most user-friendly program available, so I keep coming back. ✓ Bit of a rip offThis app contains beautiful filters for your videos, however you only get access to 2 of the filter packs through the free version. Whereas there are an additional 14 packs that you have to pay for. As someone who takes a lot of time and consideration into editing my pictures and videos, this app is unlike most other apps that offer many free packs with the addition of a few premium ones if you’re really invested in them. I think this app would do better if it offered more of the packs through their standard free version, and kept some of the packs as premium for those that really want to excel their videos further..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Crashes far too oftenI have a few issues with this app, the first being that it crashes ALL the time. Half way through a project it’ll just crash out and you either have to start again or download your project from the “previous projects” and hope your progress saved. The second is I can’t work out how on earth you remove a filter/effect after you’ve selected it - the user experience is complicated for removing mistakes/changing your mind. And lastly, the transitions are great, but it’s really hard to work out exactly what you’re meant to do to get them how/where you want them. I’ll continues using because when it works, it’s great (and because I’ve paid for a year) but these issues really need to be fixed. An app of this price shouldn’t be crashing this much. ✓ It’s okay.Like most editing apps, you have to purchase the ‘good’ filters. The default free filters are alright, and the editing tools are handy. The app has a nice clean layout and it’s easy to use. But to take the watermark off you have to purchase something from the app. All in all, it’s an okay app. But you can probably find other apps that’ll give you the filters that are purchased in this one for free elsewhere. ✓ *ughhhh*I’ve written a lengthy review about this app before regarding extreme annoyances, and I keep having to take stars away. I’ve stopped heavy use of this app since the last issues a few months back so I’m unsure if those issues still exist, but as I’ve picked up my usage, I don’t see THOSE issues. There is however a superb new annoying bug that I’m ultimately confused as to how it even happens. When I import specific clips, it appears to play the audio pitched down a few semitones. Actually, it’s almost as if the video is playing in a slower motion and yet it only happens to be this way on the very the clips I need to utilize. Sometimes I feel like someone is personally out to get me on this app, lol. It’s little bugs like that in which break the charm of an otherwise great app with great features. ✓ UNUSABLE. paid for filmm + , still WONT STOP GLITCHINGI am so frustrated after so many attempts to edit a clip, to add a filter, to do ANYTHING at all with this garbage system. how can one app be so buggy? the second i add a filter, it erases ALL my speed & trim changes. reverses every action for each clip. so i have to know from the VERY START which filter i want and i CANT change my mind or it’ll GLITCH. i can’t believe i paid for the subscription, i’ll go back to using the instagram interface for editing, it’s surprising less glitchy, but only slightly. please know you will get incredibly frustrated if you’re trying to make a video that’s actually worth watching. it won’t let you get there, with all the bugs and glitches along the way..Version: 3.9.6
✓ I started off impressed paid for subscription and now it is disappointingI made great videos with the free features. I was so impressed I decided to pay for the monthly subscription. Now it just will not work. Every change I make will play perfectly. As soon as I try to save it removes all my changes and then will take hours to try and safe for an error message to pop up and then the entire video goes blank won’t play and have to start from scratch. ✓ LOVE this app but the video always lagsThis app is by far my favorite app for filters and FX and video editing in general. It’s just absolutely superior. However, my biggest issue with the app, (and it’s honestly a big disappointment since it’s so great otherwise) is that every time I save a video after editing it on the app, it appears to be normally synced, but when I upload it to any other app (i.e. Instagram or TikTok) suddenly the audio lags significantly from the video. ✓ Good but glitchyI want to love this so so much - but I’ve had issues with the entire app glitching out when adding video effects since the holidays. Customer support was responsive at first but they never got back to me with a resolution and it’s been three months. I’ll keep trying because I do love the concepts - but right now I’m a bit bummed that I can’t finish any of my projects. Update: I reached out to the developer over the holidays and never received a response after I tried the solutions they offered which didn’t work. I was told again to reach out to the developer a few weeks ago when I tried to get an update on my case, I did and never received an answer. ✓ Free version not worth itThis would probably be a great app for those using Instagram professionally who are happy to pay for it. If you don’t want to pay, there’s no point in downloading as the few free filters are basic and all look the same. ✓ Doesn’t work anymoreThe first time I used this app it was pretty good, so I ended up paying for some of the other features. After paying, the next time I tried to edit a video, it was super buggy. If I clicked on the video while editing, the whole app would just freeze. This means that I cant really trim or split the clips. I would have to restart the app and go back in to edit again. However, whenever I have to do that, the app would push all of my text to the end of the video, which makes it pointless to try to add any sort of captions. ✓ Filmm could be wonderful with some tuitionI love the idea of this app and some parts are really intuitive but there is no help function available and when the app has done a bizarre thing like turn half the pictures upside down and then not let you see those particular images to change the rotation, there is a bottomless pit of time to spend hoping that the app might give in if you reload or something equally redundant. ✓ Lots of bugsI’ve been using this app for over a year now and it’s my main video editing app outside of IG and Tik Tok. I really like the layout and how easy it is to navigate. I do not like how often it won’t save my videos for no parent reason, every so often it just stops playing mid video and won’t play the rest even though it’s there, it stops at one of the breaks and then you always get the error when trying to save the video as a whole or as stories. Customer service response are lacking, quite unhelpful and usually take days to “resolve” although I’ve contacted them multiple times, I’ve often just figured it out a few days later. I’ve enjoyed this app but I’m tired of the problems it has and they haven’t been resolved after multiple updates..Version: 3.9
✓ Expecting moreI really like this app. I find it easy to use but there are a few things that kinda bug me. I got the impression that there would be a lot more available free then there actually is. Like I reckon there are only 2 free filters and about 4 effects. This is kinda disappointing but it still does have options available where you can adjust the brightness and saturation and all that which is helpful but the lack of filters is kinda annoying. I would use this to adjust brightness and all that but not for filters and effects on videos. Unless you want to pay heaps. If it was maybe one or two things you had to pay for then I would consider paying for it but when majority of filters cost money then I don’t even bother. ✓ Pretty alrightI like all of the things it is possible to do on this app, makes it easy to make a pretty good quality video right on your phone. That said, at least for me, the app crashes a LOT. Doesn’t matter how much I try to trim my clips down before uploading them to the app, it always seems to get overwhelmed. This happens especially when I’m trying to add transitions or effects. For this reason, I wish there was a button in the project to save progress. By exiting all the way out of the project back to selecting clips it default saves, but this is a roundabout way of saving and I wish it was easier. ✓ ConflictedI love this app, love the filters and everything, and love that it is free!! But i’m having trouble saving my project, which is very unfortunate. I spent two hours on one, which granted isn’t that much time, but i was still excited about it. When i went to save it, the app crashed. I went back on the app, went to “recent projects”, and it wouldn’t even let me access my video project, as every time i tried to edit it or click on it, it displayed the message: “the data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format”. ✓ Very underwhelming…especially for the price.Admittedly I didn’t intend to purchase the full version of this app, but I exceeded my free trial and was charged so I had to stick with it. Though there are a decent amount of filters and emulations etc, I do find the app to be slightly glitchy and editing is not as seem less an experience as I’ve had on other apps like VN and the like. For example, when trying to cut multiple video clips together and rearrange them I’m unable to hear the audio until I press the check mark and then press play to hear the sound with the video. Now, maybe there’s a method to it, but I haven’t figured it out. I feel like you can achieve unique looks by combining filters, but there’s not enough control over them. They can look a little gimmicky. Also, the title options are pretty basic in my opinion. Especially for the price paid. I’ve created little snippet videos and they’ve been okay, but certainly not to where I can justify my accidental purchase. The addition of being able to add music is a nice one, but again, there are other very capable apps that have the same option. I don’t want to be too negative about this app as I can see that it has good aspects to it for many people…just not for me. Plain and simple, I don’t really look forward to using the app and only do so because I had to pay for it. ✓ Not happyI do like the aesthetics of the app and functions that I find helpful to make reels. the app gave me a frustrating time. Saving operation error kept happening and I couldn’t save any video. When I added extra clip or photo, they disappeared at the end and there was another error saying missing files?? And the app was lagging. I added transitions and filters and changed the speed then error and they all gone. Re-make the video and still couldn’t save. ✓ Frustrating to say the leastUPDATE Changed my 2 star rating to a 1 star rating because of the developers comment to my review. I reached out to the support team days before I wrote this review and never received a response. I even added a video showing the issues. Even though I have spent money on this app, I deleted it. Use ColorStory. The effects are beautiful, and it works for videos and photos. There’s no crashing as well. This app is like the Color Story for making videos. I do enjoy it, at times. When using effects, I try to change the opacity to make the effect less noticeable. It doesn’t seem to work, and just places the effect over my video at full opacity. I’ve tried updating the app, restarting it. Nothing works. This app loves to crash at random times. I’ll be adjusting the volume of the video, and it will crash. I’ll be placing a filter, and it will crash. It especially loves to crash when you’re almost done editing. I would rate this higher if they get the bugs fixed with the updates..Version: 3.0.5
✓ Ughhhhh @ these glitchesI just want this app to work! The glitches are so awful. I love everything else but there’s nothing like editing a video for 40+ minutes and it not being able to save. The app has so many glitches that it drives me insane. Also, when I upload the video to social there’s always this weird green line on the right side. My phone’s updated the app is updated so I don’t understand what's happening. If I didn’t have all these issues it would be top tier. ✓ Incredibly glitchyGreat in concept and visual design, but unfortunately it will very consistently start to claim “media files are missing” when you try to edit a project, when the files are not missing or deleted. It’s very frustrating. I’ve lost a LOT of work that way. Sometimes it stops and you can continue the project, but sometimes it doesn’t and you have to start over. I wish it would allow you to edit the project and just show which specific files the program thinks are missing so you can work about the issue..Version: 3.2
✓ So So Editing App, Unethical PracticesI have used Filmm before and I didn't renew the subscription because it wasn't a great app it was just OK. I wanted to see if it could create an effect that my usual editing app could not. It did an OK job not great. In order to use the app you have to sign up for a subscription. I was going to do the 599 a month but then I saw it offered me a trial if I did a year. I was like fine that way I can see if I can do this the fact that I want and if you can't I can just cancel the subscription. However, when I signed up for the year it charged me for the full year upfront. I disputed the charge and for whatever reason it was decided I was not eligible for a refund I don't know why because they never give you a full reason why. All I know is that this app developer can enjoy the little $30 because I am absolutely never using or subscribing to any of their apps ever again..Version: 3.9.4

✓ It has great potential but ...This WOULD have been my favorite vintage film editor to date except it glitches and shuts down losing all my work. I wouldn’t even complain except I have the paid version. I’ve spent as much as 45 minutes on an edit to lose all my progress once I try to export it. There is no rhyme or reason to when it will glitch, sometimes it’s while trying to apply a new effect or frame or transition and other times it waits to crash once you hit “save file” ... I really do love the potential. The filters, effects, time stamp ... it’s all fantastic in theory but it glitches 9 out of 10 times I use it which makes it basically unusable. Customer service suggested uninstalling and downloading the app again. That did not fix the issue. If they could fix this major inconvenience it would easily be a 5 star app!.Version: 3.1

✓ Easy to use, not a lot of free optionsLove this app! So easy to use and makes amazing videos. I love how you can edit the brightness and exposure to a video, something I’ve wanted to do for ages but haven’t been able to!
