✓ Apple Pencil 1 & 2 - no joy“Upgraded” this to locate my Apple Pencil 2. While the app readily identified active broadcasters (iPhones, Apple Watches, Apple TV), it did not see either of the two Apple Pencil 1s nor the two Apple Pencil 2s we have. We finally found my Apple Pencil 2 through an all-hands old-fashioned search. When I placed the now found Pencil against its paired iPad Pro, it showed 95% battery, so it was not a battery issue. And this app STILL did NOT register the Pencil, even in contact with the iPad Pro (I was using the app on the iPad Pro.) The developer expressly claims this app works with Apple Pencils 1 /2. For several of them the distance changes without me moving the iPhone with the app loaded on it. I paid for the basic version and I don’t see any difference between that and the free version. The standard version showed 18!!? devices in my house - only 9 of which were named (watch/computer/AirPods etc). As my house is a 5-10 meter radius, all these unknown devices were constantly in range. However you are UNABLE TO NAME THEM them in order to eliminate them on your search. Frustratingly the order of the devices also jumps around constantly as you move around your house based on strength of signal. The paid/premium version provided no additional functionality. Even searching in my car - which is parked 6 m away from any other person, vehicle or building, constantly showed 3 ‘unnamed devices’ within .5 to 1 m radius. I have no idea why the paid version would offer anyone any value. Maybe if you drop an AirPod in a field and there are no other devices around you this could be useful but in a highly tech world in your own home or in an urban environment unless your item is named /Self identifying (remember you can’t name any device it is an already named) its value is limited. ✓ Go with another Bluetooth finder app.I am an electrical engineer with radio frequency direction finding experience, so I know what I’m talking about. The free part of this application does everything the paid part of the application does as far as trying to find something goes, which you cannot find this out without paying for the paid app. The only things you get are the ability to not have to change to portrait mode and the elimination of the list-runs-off-the-bottom issue (see below). The reason for 2 stars is because it does work as a signal strength monitor, but all of the free apps will. Portrait mode issue: This app formats the signal strength information so you cannot see it in portrait mode for items with long names. If you rotate to landscape mode you can see the names. List-runs-off-the-bottom: When using the free mode, all devices which can be “heard” by the app show up on a screen. As their relative signal strengths change, they reorder with the strongest on top. This means you have to jump around to follow the one you are watching, even off the bottom of the screen. If the developer refunds my money and removes my access to the paid version of the app, I’ll remove this review. -Todd.Version: 2.1.3

✓ I refuse to believe over 1.5K people think this electronic psychopath with a button is worth 5 starsI bet they are precisely the sort of people who give We Will Rock You 5 stars. Their favourite bit is when Ben Elton takes Freddie Mercury’s astonishing legacy, pulls his trousers down and takes a massive dump on it from atop the truly vast cash mountain he has raked in from the most unwelcome thing to have hit the West End since the V1 rocket. When you open the app you are immediately bombarded with automated pleas to rate it - despite the fact I have had less time to use it than it took the Little Boy nuclear bomb to make Hiroshima feel ‘a bit warm’ in 1945. It’s like the world’s neediest actress has just been rejected for a walk on part in a Ben Elton musical because she is too hammy for a role that even a pig would feel typecast in. And 5 lbs overweight. When you finally do get to the app itself after a short & angry review (I only swore once in that one) it decides to hook up your phone to every single Bluetooth/radio transmitting device on whatever continental land mass you happen to be on. I was probably about 15 seconds from the thing turning my flat into Gatwick airport’s newest & shortest runway, and very shortly afterwards London’s newest & deepest smouldering crater. Unless you include Croydon. So for the love of all that is holy don’t use this thing. Just admit defeat like me, be more productive at work and pay for the proper Apple tag things instead. ✓ Doesn’t track Apple Pencil 2I lost my Apple Pencil 2 inside my house. I bought this app fired it up and walked around the house using this tracker and had no success finding the Apple Pencil 2. I reread directions and searched again very slowly using this tracker. After a few hours I went back around the house just looking around and referencing the tracker (for a 3rd search) in each room and still no luck. Later that evening I was cleaning my bedroom and found the Apple pencil 2 just underneath a rug... I assumed it didn’t have a charge left in but had to confirm, after I attached it to my iPad Pro I confirmed the Apple Pencil 2 had a 78% charge left. Out of curiosity I restarted my iPad Pro and reopened this tracker app, my Apple Pencil 2 was not even recognized by this tracking app never mind indicating how close I was to it. I have since reached out to the developer 2 times for a refund and they haven’t even gotten back to me, not to offer a credit, fix, update or anything else. No acknowledgement is the worst part. I strongly recommend NOT TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP (or anything from these guys for that matter but that’s just my old school mentality)..Version: 2.1.3
