Amazed! Shocked!It’s been a lifesaver!! I can’t express how grateful I am. I was hesitant at first about the ability of hypnotherapy to help, and about the money, but I’m convinced. It’s been incredible. I now want to try hypnotherapy for other issues I’ve struggled with as well, it’s been so helpful! I love how optimistic it’s making me feel. I have come to the conclusion that my gut symptoms were caused both by high FODMAP foods and by stress. But even more so, I had developed a mind-body link that was keeping me in a stress response around certain behaviors (eating, driving, sleeping being some of them) that would trigger an attack. I’ve never yet had a time that using a Nerva hypnotherapy session during one of these attacks hasn’t worked immediately (and I mean within the first few minutes of the session usually). PS. I am eating a low FODMAP diet as well, so I can’t speak to using the Nerva system alone, but I will say that the diet alone was not eliminating my symptoms. Life changingI’m not going to lie, I was skeptical. But that never held me back from trying it because after several years (and thousands of dollars) of doctors and testing and NEVER getting any answers except for some blanket “anxiety” answers, THIS WORKS. I’ve only been using it a week and I’ve already seen drastic decrease in feeling crappy during the day (I didn’t even take Pepto this week!), nausea and pain has been minimal. I’m already even seeing a difference in bathroom habits. I was only able to do the trial for now, as money is short, but I assure you that the cost is LOW compared to the amount of money that I’ve spent on medications and doctors in the past. I will definitely be revisiting it immediately when my personal funds allow. Also, side note: I have PTSD and sometimes I would be triggered during sessions and I would feel like I wasn’t able to focus enough but it still all somehow still worked. Give it a shot!The Nerva app has a really nice interface and most importantly it’s all backed up with scientific evidence. It slowly passes on the information and knowledge you need to understand both IBS and hypnotherapy techniques in a really accessible way. I listened to the hypnotherapy audio sessions at night before bed and they must have been good because I always got to sleep about half way through! I wasn’t really paying much attention to my symptoms at all as I’ve learnt to live with it but with retrospect it seems my IBS symptoms have definitely calmed down! I also wanted to mention that the customer care team are very helpful (got back to me even on a bank holiday) and you can even do a trial and request a refund if it’s not for you. For the price of a coffee a week I’d say it’s definitely worth a shot to see if it works for you..Version: 22.1

Stick with it - this app is life-changing.I was SO skeptical at first. And I found it really hard to relax in the meditations. I’d fall asleep and I thought it wasn’t working. My symptoms flared up a bunch too. So I stopped using it. After a couple of weeks I ate gluten. This would normally be a huge trigger for my IBS. But miraculously it wasn’t!! 🤯 I ate gluten for a whole week. No pain. None of my normal symptoms. The results are truly amazing and I cannot recommend it enough. My symptoms have calmed right down. IBS reliefI completed the 6-week Nerva program and it worked for me. I was skeptical but desperate to try anything to ease my IBS symptoms. I've had IBS for 20+ years but my symptoms have gotten much worse in the last 5 years. I did the Nerva program diligently for 6 weeks. I saw minor improvements in the first 4 weeks but things are noticeably better since the final two weeks. Ongoing hypnotherapyI've just about finished a second lot of three-month hypnotherapy sessions, as after the first, I hadn't seen much improvement. This was disappointing as initially, after just four days, my bowel symptoms had improved dramatically. As I have had this frustrating illness for over 25 years, I felt in my case my brain gut communication had probably been out of sync for a long time so I've persevered. Although not completely normal, my body seems to be returning to a more normal pattern and I'm happy to carry on with a third session as I feel more relaxed apart from anything else. If your GI issues are related to stress/anxiety, this worksI wish I had found this ten years ago. I’m an anxious person and I carry it in my stomach, and my “sensitive stomach” turned into full on IBS during the pandemic. I kept thinking I was falling asleep when I used the app and thought it was weird that I kept waking up whenever she prompted it in the dialogue, but now I realize I’m actually going into a meditative state during my sessions. I don’t think about Nerva much, but I think that’s the point. This app saved me!!My favorite app of all time, it has changed my life! I went from having flair ups every day/every other day to now barely having any at all! I was in such a depression because of my IBS, and the entire program felt so specifically tailored for me and what I was going through I couldn’t believe it. I just ended my program a few weeks ago and have been doing meditations as an upkeep protocol but not needed every day anymore. The initial program is absolutely worth every penny and I’m so sad that I can’t afford this app anymore and have ended my subscription. I would love to keep using it since my body is used to the ritual and responds so well. But It’s too expensive for how often I use it now which is only once a week or so. I hope they drop the rate for those who have completed the program, to keep those of us who are simply on upkeep protocol and maybe don’t need access to the vast library of meditations but just a simple few. Not only has this app worked better for me than anything doctors have been able to do, but it’s saved me money which is a huge plus. But this is still too expensive for me. Kind serviceThe Nerva team are quick to respond to any questions one might have. I am currently reassessing whether I actually have IBS or not. The team is understanding of my hesitation of continuing with the programme (as I may not have IBS ) and has invited me back should I and my health professionals consider this a beneficial program for me. Effective and easy to follow programI’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now and I’m already seeing improvements in my IBS symptoms. After years and years of trying to manage various elimination diets and taking medications that just masked my symptoms it is so wonderful to find an intervention that is effective and much more straightforward to follow than endless diet restrictions. Pleasantly surprised and happy with my progressI’ve just completed the 6 week programme and am so impressed with the improvement in my symptoms. Prior to starting I was having 5 loose bowel movements per day, had a lot of urgency, was using anti diarrhoeals, antispasmodics and was in a lot of pain. I felt low and anxious a lot of the time about my symptoms. It’s not a magic quick fix but if you’re prepared to put in the time (only 20mins per day) this app really works. I’m now only having 1-2 bowel movements a day, have stopped using medication and using safety behaviours and feel more in control of my symptoms than I have for a long time. Worked for meI’ve suffered approximately 50 years with tummy problems and have seen numerous gastroenterologists with no improvement. I was told when I was at primary school I had a spastic colon, now called ibs. I was having far more bad days than good, so I decided to give this a go, what could I lose? I paid for 3 months access and made time in my day for the readings and meditations. The difference has been amazing! I still have flares, but no where near as often. It is quite expensive and I couldn’t warrant paying for another 3 months. The meditations are repeated and after the 6 week programme I chose the ones I liked. I still use the techniques that are explained at the start of the meditations. I wish there was a way I could access the meditations without the huge outlay, a lower price with limited access for example. Life changingI purchased Nerva subscription before a trip to Europe that’s been causing me anxiety for months. I have tried xifaxan, dietary changes (I’m not great at those), lomotil, OTC anti diarrheals, I thought “what could it hurt?”. Nerva has exceeded all of my expectations. I would not eat out at restaurants, I’d always get food to go and eat cold meals at home after the fact. I do not ride in cars with others (outside of my husband/son) because it’s triggering for me. I avoid getting nails done because I feel “stuck”. I am currently getting. A deluxe pedicure (they take longer, which even on a good day pre Nerva would have never happened ) while writing this review. I’ve got very little anxiety about being here. Great programI did Nerva for more than 6 weeks and didn’t experience improvement. I have had IBS-C for 30 years plus I have other medical issues . A normal life is finally in reachDuring my decades struggling with food sensitivities, colitis, allergies, and reflux, I learned what my triggers were and how to avoid them… but nothing could lower my sensitivity to those triggers. This legitimately changed things for meLike many of us, I found myself down a research rabbit hole during a particularly bad flare up. I was so frustrated just wanting a straight answer about what I could eat that wouldn’t make it worse. One of the articles mentioned this hypnotherapy app and I was skeptical but desperate. Would I really no longer have to log my food and avoid so many favorites? Either way I was willing to take the risk and give it a go and I’m so glad that I did. We all know that IBS is exacerbated bu stress, but I didn’t realize that so much of my problem was caused by essentially living my life in fight or flight. With a brain running forever on panic mode so many normal functions go by the way side. Nerva helped me rewire and be all over less anxious and more resilient. I have a better relationship with my gut, appetite, etc. I eat what I want, but I rarely want very much of “trigger foods” but it now feels less like a stressful avoidance and more like listening to my body. I really like this app.I have suffered from IBS, acid reflux and LPR reflux. My acid reflux is gone now and I am hoping to relieve my IBS and LPR reflux with this app together with diet and nutritional therapy. A good startJust on Day 5. All I know is I want to continue. I’ve realized what a tight grip my mind has had over symptoms. I always knew I was in my head a lot but this awareness is much deeper, more primal. Great sessions & amazing customer serviceHypnotherapy sessions are gut directed and relaxing. They provide specific suggestions on how your body is healing itself. I’m only in week 3 so I’m not sure if things are working yet; but even if they don’t, I’m getting a relaxing meditation-like session each day which is good for my body and brain. The customer service is amazing. I’ve reached out to Alex probably five times with questions and he’s always replied, sometimes even on the weekends. I know that they really want this app to work for people. The price is also very reasonable if you consider that seeing a Hypnotherapist usually is not covered by insurance and will cost $100-$200 per session..Version: 1.2.0

Nerva has changed my life!I am on the last day of my 6 weeks of sessions and so far it has been life changing. There has been a massive reduction in all my symptoms and I have been able to reintroduce foods I thought I’d never eat again. I have almost no pain, and my focus has been moved entirely away from my digestion, so when I do have things going on I can just chalk it up to a normal reaction and get on with my day stress free. Pleasant SurpriseI was desperate enough to try anything when I started this program, and I’m so happy to report that after completing the 6 weeks, I have experienced a marked improvement in my overall gut health/comfort. I’m also able to enjoy more flexibility in my diet, without suffering the uncomfortable “repercussions” I’ve become accustomed to over the years (in spite of religiously following every “gut based” eating program known to humanity). The reason I’m only giving it 4 stars, is because I do think some work could be done to improve the audio sessions. My profession has a large amount of overlap in hypnotherapy, meditation, CBT and other modalities touched on in this program, so perhaps my expectations are higher than most. However, I think some small tweaks to the language and delivery of the “hypnotherapy” (more reminiscent of simple guided meditation/visualization) could push this program over the top and make it even more impactful. That said, I experienced such benefit from dedicated, daily adherence to the readings, audio and breathing exercises, that I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this app/program to anyone struggling with IBS (or “IBS adjacent”) GI issues. Nerva is a GodsendI am on day five in using Nerva. I was introduced to Nerva through Diet vs Disease. I used a meditative tool called MUSE for about three years so I was familiar with guided meditation and it’s benefits. But I am already very aware how in using Nerva, I am able to reach a more deep and relaxed state of mind more quickly. My experience using NervaI have had gut problems at times for many years. In the last year I have made a lot of progress - nothing is a quick fix with the gut. Nerva was an option in my treatment. Exceeded all expectations!I purchased this app as I was at the end of my tether with my IBS. I had tried other things including the FODMAP diet which helped but did not feel like it was getting to the root of the issue. FINALLY Some Relief!I bought this app reluctantly. It was more than I had ever spent on an app but, after years of struggle and spending thousands of dollars on foods, supplements and doctors, I decided to try it. 

 Before I started, my symptoms were progressing, there was less and less I could eat “safely”, going out to eat with friends often ended with me suffering symptoms for a day or two. My sleep was disrupted frequently. I knew I needed to get my Vagal nerve on line so I could switch my Sympathetic nervous system (STRESS!) off; I had been trying various things for years without success. My life was getting smaller and being uncomfortable was taking up way too much of my time.

So, I bought Nerva.

 After about 2.5 weeks of daily practice, I noticed my symptoms lessening and my sleep improving - both in terms of more deep sleep and more easily going back to sleep if I woke up. That trend has continued.

 Now, well into my 6th week, I am thinking about food much less, I have fewer symptoms, less dramatic symptoms, better ability to cope with “trigger” foods, and am consistently sleeping better.

 I’m more aware of when I am becoming stressed and use the Nerva tools to cope to calm myself down.

 And, FYI, I am completely unrelated to this company — this is just my experience. Nerva has given me back a chunk of my life and I thank them for it..Version: 21.3

Invaluable!I confess that I had my doubts about hypnotherapy, being helpful, and happily, those doubts or completely eradicated! I completed the six week Nerva program, and I am still using it daily. I began to notice improvement after the first few days. I still have symptoms sometimes, but my anxiety about the symptoms has definitely decreased, my appetite is much better, and I just feel calmer in general. Quite frankly, miraculousI’ve had quite serious digestive issues on and off for over 5 years. They tend to flare up to a debilitating level (ie not being able to work, enjoy holidays, leave the house for long periods of time) for months at a time and I’ve undergone all types of invasive testing and diets to no avail. Nothing has worked so I’ve been willing to try absolutely anything as the years have gone on. Worth noting that Ive previously been very skeptical of mediation in general, just not my thing. Amazingly, after about 10 days I started seeing a dramatic reduction in my symptoms after using Nerva everyday. I must caveat that simultaneously I’ve been following a relatively low FODMAP diet and consciously trying to reduce stress on my body, but without a doubt Nerva has contributed to the reduction in symptoms (I have tried these things before Nerva and they have not helped at all). I am now on week 5 with nearly 3 clear weeks of virtually no symptoms. This is the best my stomach has been in years and I feel happier and healthier than ever. I have no doubt that there is a mental component to this, and believing that it will help you may well be a factor in its effectiveness. Great results so far!I’m on week 3 and have not experienced any flares since starting, which is amazing because they’d been frequent prior to using this app, and not even my usual prescribed medication was helping ease. Fantastic resultsI was suffering with a really bad case of stress induced acid reflux with a lot of discomfort which was taking over my life. I would not have thought hypnotherapy could make such a differenceI tried this app with the belief that it probably wouldn’t do much. Longtime IBS-C with Endometriosis. This program works!This program has been one of the most effective treatments for my gut sensitivity and has reduced my symptom flares by over 80%. I have endometriosis, and with this comes frequent pelvic pains and abdominal/GI symptoms. At about week 3 of doing Nerva, I started to notice a big improvement in my mental well being, a sense of self efficacy and calm during previously tense or stressful situations. My bowel habits have been so much more consistent, regular and my sensitivity to foods has gone way down. I am no longer hyper vigilant/ fearful of groups of foods for fear of an IBS flare. I don’t regret giving it a tryApparently this can’t help everyone’s symptoms improve. I think for me I had too many variables. Was trying low FODMAP and then my Dr prescribed a medication during the program. My symptoms did improve somewhat but not sure what the factor was. Regardless of symptoms I think the program helped me cope with it better. The program is well done, informative, and supportive. Many months after completion I still return to the guided meditations when I’m feeling stressed or particularly down about my symptoms. I would recommend others suffering with IBS to try it. HypnotherapyAlthough you say that even a light level of hypnosis is ok, I can’t help feeling that the effects can’t be as positive. I have never responded well to hypnotherapy, much less to visualisations. I usually fall asleep or just zone out and don’t see or hear anything. So far, this week, by always sitting and not lying down, I’ve avoided sleep but it’s still very difficult for me to stay with visual images. Great App worked quicklyI have had gut issues for years and finally got so fed up with not getting help from my gastroenterologist except for recommending drugs which I never wanted to take. So I changed my diet which helped a lot however I would have severe pain after eating. I am a therapist and I know the value of relaxation and deep breathing and practice it every day. However I had no idea that using hypnotherapy could help my stomach pain. I caught on very quickly to consciously relaxing my stomach when I was in pain and my pain issues were reduced by approximately 80% within two weeks. Amazing program, but costs way too much!I have had wonderful success with this app. Nothing relaxes me more or attends to my sometimes debilitating symptoms. I looked forward to my sessions daily. Calming voice, excellent breathing exercises, and the guided scenarios are so vivid in my head. Unfortunately, it has become so expensive. It has been priced this out of any range that I can afford. Paying close to $80 for three months of maintenance when I only use the app occasionally is outrageous. Not being able to access previous sessions, that I paid for, is also not customer friendly. I’m really disappointed because the maintenance program costs more than the original program, but used way less often. I have been a loud cheerleader for this app and have discussed the app with my doctor who was thrilled I had so much success. I have also recommended it to friends. Until it is more affordable, I must find other, less effective ways of managing my symptoms. This is so disappointing and seems like bad business practice. Love it, some minor bugsSeems to be helping. However have noticed often that despite listening to the entire session and doing the reading and everything the app often does not mark a day as complete. I carefully wait for the session to finish but it does this frequently and the only thing I can do to mark the day as complete is to scrub through the hypno session until a few seconds before the end and “finish” it again. I never would have believed itI don’t normally write reviews but I had to for this app. I’ve suffered with IBS for a long time now and my IBS symptoms tend to be started by anxiety. This then becomes a vicious cycle as the IBS symptoms tend to prolong the feelings of anxiety. This app has helped me break/considerably reduce the vicious cycle between my gut and my brain. My IBS spasms and discomfort in my stomach are considerably less, even after anxiety triggers and I am coping a lot better than before. It’s also enabling me to calm my anxiety a lot quicker as my gut feels calm. I must admit I would never have tried this app if someone I know hadn’t tried it first, as I appreciate the initial fee is expensive but I must say that in my experience the improvements have been amazing and well worth the fee. Very helpfulThere is so much that I appreciate about this programme. It is very comprehensive, dealing with all aspects of IBS. The readings give lots of useful and often reassuring information. The hypnotherapy sessions were always very calming to listen to. I personally did not feel that I was fully hypnotised and because I suffer from chronic insomnia, there was a tendency to fall asleep regardless of the time of day I chose to listen. Fantastic caring supportI know some people can be sceptical about subscription services (me included). But this is based on research by Monash University who created the FODMAP diet and they do a lot of research into IBS. I started the programme and feel that the hypnotherapy and support materials will really help me. Then I got food poisoning! There is no controlling those symptoms, and I’m quite poorly. There is a place to chat on the app and I told them what has happened and how I can’t do the hypnotherapy now. I love itI am writing this review after about two weeks of using this program. The sessions are so calming that I would use them even if I didn’t have such significant digestive issues. Nerva app is good..if you have realistic expectationsI have IBS and reflux and have been using the Nerva app for the past month or so in conjunction with other major changes (diet, sleep, exercise, etc...). My symptoms have significantly improved (knock on wood!) during that time although I’m definitely not at a point where I can eat whatever I want. I think it’s a solid app and that it has played an important role in things getting better for me. If you use it, however, I would just be aware that you will probably have to make other changes in your life to really completely address IBS (or whatever your abdominal issue is). I would also strongly recommend doing the 5 minute breathing exercise that is an optional part of each session. Technically, the app itself is fine if a little glitchy. Fast help for IBS-C and endometriosis symptomsI noticed a significant reduction in IBS-C symptoms within the first two days. The deep relaxation sessions reminded my body how to let go and I started practicing the belly breathing much of the day. Life changing!I’ve spent years trying to get help from Doctors. Always the same tests, always no diagnosis. Very effective but expensiveThis app is really effective for ongoing digestive issues, however it is a bit prohibitively expensive and I imagine it prevents people on a tight budget from investing which is disappointing. Early days but the signs are very goodI signed up for the app after trying the 7 day free trial. I was diagnosed with IBS a few months ago and have been trying and failing to deal with it through finding triggers, changing my diet and taking peppermint oil. Highly recommend!!!I never really understood the impact my mental health was having on the way I was digesting food. I realized that I developed an eating disorder from having IBS and SIBO that cause me to fear food. Extremely well-doneI’m new to IBS but after some bad flares I started trying to attack it from all levels: Sleeping more, water only 1 hour before or after eating, plenty of water per day, low FODMAP diet, exercising more, CBD oil, adaptogens, probiotic, prebiotics, intermittent fasting, and this Nerva app. This app is very well done. I have some prior experience with hypnotherapy and know that I am open to the suggestions that come with hypnotherapy so thought I’d give it a shot. Well put togetherThe app is well done and the hypnotherapy person has a pleasant voice. It was worth a try but I don’t think it made any difference to me. I kept falling asleep during the sessions so probably missed a heap. I also didn’t do the deep breathing multiple times a day. Maybe I lacked commitment. I might try again in a few months. There were only about 6 scenarios that got repeated, so I got a bit bored. I would have been more bored if I’d stayed awake! I suspect I am not a good subject. Freedom to eat more foodsDue to IBS I’ve been on a gluten free diet for about 8 years & low fructose for about 5 years. A miracle for meThis program is so worth trying. It took four and a half weeks and then was like a miracle. My bowels are working normally for the first time in my life! The joy of relaxing with a friendI have felt from the beginning that the hypnotic voice is that of a close and trusted friend. I am grateful for her presence in my life. I like the time we spend together. I know that the information I have been given about the response my mind and body will have to the use of the Nerva app indicate it may take time. And truly, I do not feel impatient, but I believe it has already begun to help me. Maybe what has helped most is the familiarity of the format, as I have meditated daily for over a decade now. ImpressedI had been aware of this app for some time as it’s been advertised to me on social media. I didn’t really buy the whole hypnosis thing, and I thought the price of the subscription was extortionate… which I still stand by to an extent. Great AppI have ADHD and find meditations sometimes very hard to follow, this is one of the rare cases that wasn’t the case! Worked completely for meI’m writing this review 18 months after finishing the Nerva app course. I had experienced IBS symptoms for 20 years before starting using the Nerva app, and had been formally diagnosed as having IBS. While sceptical of the course to start with, I felt that I had not much to lose by trying it. To my surprise, I felt improvements quite quickly, and by the end of the course my symptoms had gone. It works!I am 73 years old and have suffered from IBS since my teens. I’ve had bowel obstructions, a sigmoidectomy, bad bacteria overgrowths, parasites, yet my symptoms never disappeared. Life changingI have been recommending Nerva to anyone I know, and will continue to do so. For many years I denied that my IBS was stress based as I didn’t “feel nervous in the moment”. Through the daily readings, Nerva helped me to understand the effect that subconscious stress can have on the body (in my case, a high intensity job and other chronic pain conditions). Autoimmune- Sjogrens SyndromeSjogrens Syndrome has many symptoms, one of which is damage to the mucus membranes of the body. This causes significant issues with the gut and bowel. Whilst I don’t have a formal diagnosis of IBS (I experience all the symptoms of IBS) I found the Nerva program extremely helpful. I love the hypnotherapy sessions they are fantastic. The daily readings are really informative and provide fantastic tools that you can actually use. The breathing exercises are a fantastic tool you can use anywhere. I made no changes to my routine (I do follow a FODMAP diet) during the 6 weeks other than using the Nerva App and I can definitely feel changes for the better. Good for relaxationI do like this app but I often use it before bed and got annoyed when I have to wake up from it. Not sure if they could develop a day time and night time version. My IBS hasn’t changed much but I do find this very relaxing and helps me focus and stop thinking before bed. Sometimes it’s annoying that the sound editor has cut off some of the ends of the sentences early, which for me disrupts the flow. Seems to be only in the recent update, or maybe because I’ve had it a while I’ve just started to notice! Anyway I would recommend this app for the relaxation aspects. Tried it..and it helpedI read an article on NIH stating the success rate of hypnotherapy on IBS. While searching for somewhere to try this, I came across this app. I figured it was less than I would pay for one session with a hypnotist and decided to ty it. I do a session each morning before I get out of bed, and I am almost done with week 6. I knew my gut issues were mainly triggered by moments of high anxiety, and they were becoming worse and more frequent. This app has really helped both my mind and gut to be more calm. I noticed in other reviews that some people complained about the sessions repeating, but it hasn’t bothered me. I actually have noticed my progress this way. Excellent.I rarely review anything but having completed the initial 6 week Nerva course I had to write a review. It has been so worthwhile doing this course. I have learnt so much and more than that have found the hypnotherapy sessions very relaxing and in turn have seen a big reduction in my symptoms. A few tweaks would help!I relax when I take slow, deep belly breaths (diaphramic breathing). I would like to see that incorporated into the hypnotherapy. It is jarring to hear “relax the muscles of the skull” because the skull doesn’t have muscles. I change it to “scalp” when I’m listening. I can’t relax my ears or nose, but I definitely need to relax my jaw and tongue. I would like to see that incorporated. Those additions would make a difference for me! These suggestions were written in the first few weeks as feedback to the authors. The program is helping me feel better. I am more relaxed in general and don’t obsess about IBS. Actually works!I highly recommend sticking with this program. It’s not perfect… yes, sessions are repeated and they can be a little boring or annoying sometimes. But after week 4 I’ve felt a consistent improvement to my IBS symptoms - specifically, gut mobility and the ability to be regular. Pros and ConsPROS: I’m into my second week of hypnotherapy, and so far I’ve enjoyed my daily sessions with Nerva. Most importantly, I feel better. I did have an IBS flare during my first week, but it was short lived and symptoms were greatly reduced! I’m feeling very hopeful that this IBS treatment will work for me. It’s only been two weeks, but I’m already benefiting from some other good side effects, such as feeling less anxious and stressed overall. CONS: Navigation of the app itself is simple but a little disappointing because it doesn’t appear to be as robust as it is described in the iOS App Store. I have an iPhone 6, so perhaps an aging cell phone isn’t able to access some of the app’s features. Contacting the FAQ and web counselors is helpful, but they are busy. It would be great if they were able to answer my questions in real time, but I generally have to wait until the next day for them to contact me. All in all, the cons are not as important as the good that I’m deriving from the daily sessions, and I’m glad to have Nerva. I’ll update my review at the end of six weeks!.Version: 9.0

Reduces symptomsI never really trusted hypnotherapy before but was recommended this and have been very pleasantly surprised. I hugely recommend using the Nerva app as it targets the gut/brain connection and provides daily educational readings along side the hypnotherapy. For me the biggest help was reducing stress and becoming aware of my personal connection between stress and my tummy. As a busy mum I found the best time to listen to my daily session was first thing in the morning once I’d gone down with the kids and got them settled. Worth every pennyI was skeptical at first, especially because I don’t seem to be particularly susceptible to hypnosis, having tried many apps and in person hypnotherapy without much success. I like the female voice, the guided meditations/ hypnosis scripts are just the ideal length - usually 16 minutes: enough to have time to relax into it, not so long that I wouldn’t do it because ‘I don’t have time’. It’s on the expensive end for an app, but as the add said: same price as one psych consult, but as helpful as a number of sessions would be. I agree with that. And I’m a psych, so I do know what I’m talking about. I also like that it is a program that you just follow, a no brainer, no decision. to make, rather than having too much choice between options, which I find frazzling..Version: 1.3.5

Working well for meI am on to my third week. I feel like my digestion has slowed right down - it is such a different feeling to what had become my “normal”. I feel so much more relaxed and less anxious lately. I have never been hypnotised before... I listen just before bed and I almost always feel like I’ve slept through the entire thing only to wake up just as it ends. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Worth every cent..Version: 1.8.5

Couldn’t be happier!It’s been nearly two years since I did the program and I only go back to it for occasional flare ups and I’m having my teenage daughters go through the program now. I love the guided meditation feel of the sessions, that I finish feeling relaxed and confident in my progress. I also really love the readings. Hard to believe but it works!I was a little sceptical about hypnotherapy, but it makes total sense regarding IBS. I have eaten garlic and other foods that I haven’t eaten in about 5 years on the low FODMAP diet. I was getting sick of not being able to eat much when going out, having to read packets and being difficult at restaurants. I’m still low FODMAP at home but Nerva has given me wriggle room to eat things I generally couldn’t when I’m out. I can actually feel my gut moving whereas it was pretty stagnant before. Some feedbackI have PI IBS and believe a lot of my issues stem from the trauma of the original infection. So hypnotherapy might help! I haven’t noticed a change in symptoms yet, but I love the recordings. The visuals are great and I find myself returning to them mentally throughout the day. The voices are soothing. (I actually prefer the original Australian but the British is nice too. American next?) I want to read more articles on hypnotherapy. I don’t know if I am successfully entering a hypnotic state. The meditation is good anyway. I admit I haven’t used it every day, more like a few times a week. Between the reading, breathing exercise, and recording, week 2 sessions are 30+ minutes long, which is a lot to set aside every day especially for someone new to this. I wish you could choose between a short or long session depending on the day. Also, I’m a planner so I would like to be able to preview later weeks..Version: 1.5.1

Impressed and Relieved!Was initially super skeptical of hypnotherapy (if medicine, years of doctors, and thousands of $$ couldn’t help, why would this?). I struggle with IBS-C and feel like most programs help with IBS-D. But I spoke with several heads of Gastro programs at top Universities around the country and they all recommended I used this app. I’m so surprised and amazed at how helpful this app was in calming my symptoms. My symptoms are unrecognisable from when I originally began this app! This has given me hope for continued healing, education for why and how my flare ups occur, and a reliable on-demand program for future possible set-backs. 9 days in (daily) and it’s already showing improvementI’m a 70% auditory learner 15% visual/kinesthetic and have been noticing my body more. Especially through getting me to notice then start controlling the butterfly’s instead of them fluttering there all day for no reason and giving me dramas for no reason. I’ve been diagnosed for 1 year. I’m 40. CIS Male. 79kg. Fit looking but not fit. Bearded. Married. Father. Manager. Experiencing GOS FODMAP onion / garlic / mushroom reaction from about <1g ingested for over 3 years. After 9 days of doing every session, I’m noticing my body and controlling my whole self better and bring more self aware and present. My gut still experiences the same reaction physically but I can now manage to control the pain level in my gut and just register it… not just stress out and react to it which leads to continued spirals which only lead one way… and it’s NOT up. Brilliant Information and Advice from GeaI had developed IBS symptoms from a bout of Covid in April 2022. Had been to a dr had various tests all clear. Dr prescribed Buscopan which initially helped. In October Nerva came on my Instagram and it was the best thing I decided to do. I religiously did the sessions every day at similar times. Read all the articles and within a few weeks my symptoms Of stomach cramps bloating obsession to be near a toilet all eased. Was able to have a week in the Sun continuing to do the sessions. Not obsessed about food had the odd alcoholic drink and no affect. I had a zoom call with a Dietician referred by my GP. He was very interested to hear about NERVA and felt you had been able to help more than anything. Had a slight flare up in December reverted by to daily sessions and am delighted to say my symptoms and esp the anxiety I had suffered during the last few years of Covid calmed down and now am feeling very calm and reassured. Incredible resultsI had been suffering from abdominal pain for over a year, doing all the recommended tests including a colonoscopy(!) without any findings. The doctors couldn’t find an explanation to my pain and said “it’s probably IBS”. I have been doing meditation and yoga, and then decided to try Nerva. The results were incredible, and I wasn’t sure what to believe when I noticed that my stomach cramps subsided almost instantly after using this wonderful app. Now, 3 months later, my stomach pain is not bothering me any longer, and the pain has almost vanished! Staying In Control…IBS affects folks in many, many different ways and the stress cycle with it, for me, is the most damaging and upsetting.
