Drambo for Positive User Reviews

WTAF?A) Why have I only discovered this now? B) Why have I wasted so much money on hardware grooveboxes and plugins? Turns out all I needed was Drambo all along! I can’t get my head around how many problems this solves and how much potential it has - it’s genius. Bravo BeepStreet, Bravo 👏.Version: 1.40

Nice groovebox. This app is brilliant. Nice layout and amazing creative features. This is well thought out and designed. It’s a sampler, synth, drum machine, fx processor, midi processor and more. Only thing this is missing for me is exporting pattern/song stems, and would like to create entirely different sounds on another pattern in the same project. At least dedicated track mutes per pattern will be ok for me. Other then that this is great..Version: 1.40

EssentialBest and deepest music app on the App Store. The possibilities are limitless, but still the incredibly well-thought UI makes it super accessible. It even works really well on a phone, both in portrait and landscape mode! It can the only music app you’ll ever need, but it plays so well with others (as it can host AUv3 plugins or itself be used as a plugin inside a DAW) that you can use it in any scenario or configuration. I would pay gold to have a VST Mac/PC version of Drambo. Pure genius..Version: 2.12

This app is from the future!!!!EDIT: What???! Version 1.24 is just nuts! How can I add the 6th star to my rating??? I’m absolutely blown away by this app. I just barely scratched the surface with it and tested maybe 2% of it# power, but can see that it has enormous potential. The app feels like a software at its 10th generation, with years of development and improvements, it is hard to believe that it’s just 4 months old. The concept of this app will be easy to anyone familiar with node workflow. There are many programs like this for desktops, mostly for video post production and 3D such as Davinci Resolve, Nuke, Houdini, etc. except this app makes everything MUCH easier by providing connections between nodes (here called modules) for us. Since the architecture of this app is extremely open and flexible, it seems very likely that the app will grow and evolve. Few things I wish for the future updates would be: ***ability to lock the sequencer steps area of the interface. It is easy to accidentally touch a step and erase it / add it while working on other things within the interface. ***some sort of “tree” or “snapshot” view of all dependencies and connections within the created instrument. I see it as a very simple graph which makes it easy to see everything that is going on..Version: 1.24

Diamond DawgsThis is a seriously great app which has active development by a great developer. Since the initial purchase it has been updated to an AU host! It inspires and provides a fantastic playground of audio and midi tools. This app will certainly get even better in the future and the IAP is fairly priced..Version: 1.31

Will evolve electronic musicThis app is light years ahead of most modern hardware grooveboxes. I’m still going to ask for parameter slides haha.Version: 2.0

Amazing Sound Sculpting WonderlandThis app is simply fantastic. The merging of full modular and groovebox is so well crafted and user friendly, that it’s a breeze to use. If you have any familiarity with modular synthesis - even at a basic level - within an hour you’ll be crafting custom sounds and grooves. If you can think of a sound you want, you can likely build it here. My only wish so far is a little more control over sequencer track playback. I’d love to be able to set a direction, random steps, etc. without using sequencer modules, but that’s such a small issue in the big picture. For those against the price and in-app purchase, if I didn’t have an iPad, I’d probably buy one just for this app. You simply can’t buy a hardware groovebox with this much functionality and ease of use..Version: 1.40

GeniusQuite simply, this is the best music app you’ll own on iPad. In fact, it’s probably the best thing on iPad full-stop. It’s that good..Version: 1.0

Game changerAUv3 hosting just brings so many possibilities. And the mapping to AUv3 parameters is so easy to setup. At the simplest level you can add all your favourite synths and fx like in a traditional DAW. More interesting is you can use them as components together with Drambo’s extensive selection of modules. For example if you own iVCS3 and Mixbox you can add a VCS3 oscillator and use the Mixbox Roland filter with cutoff controlled by a Drambo envelope. And it all works really smoothly. There’s nothing else on iOS that comes close to this for sound creation and control..Version: 1.30

Awesome, deep, and super poweredI’ve had Drambo a few days now. Watched a bunch of videos, tutorials, etc. Modular Synth, Sequencer, and a lot of amazing knob tweaking abilities with P-Locks & Morph. I got it with FACDrumKit as well, and now I can just punch out drums in 2 seconds before going down the well of Drambo. Main thing with Drambo that would be great (hey Dev! Hey fans!) is some explanations of building & connecting Racks, how to make your own Rack instruments, and that kinda thing. I’ve had Cubasis for awhile, and it was fun until I learned it & started using it & then it wasn’t so fun. AUM is amazing but every time I’m in it, it’s chaos — which is still pretty fun. But this is a whole new level. 5*’s and then some!.Version: 2.12

BrilliantThis is the spaceship we have all been waiting for. Turned off quantize, and immediately got down..Version: 1.0

Wow. The best price to capability audio app ever made. There is so many things to say about this app, it’s like a Elektron machine mixed with Ableton live mixed with every synth and effect you could ever think of when you combine them all. You can just go on the patchstorage website look for Drambo and download new synths fx and modules, for FREE. Can’t believe I’ve never rated this app before, it’s literally the best value for money audio app ever made imo, and I’ve used Ableton Live, Reaktor and similar things for over 20 years. On iOS, this is THE audio app..Version: 2.21

An unbelievably well thought out app!I meant to do a review within about ten minutes of buying this but I thought I’d see which features I wanted to mention, but so far, it’s more or less everything! I haven’t tried it all yet though but within a few minutes I thought that this could be the best app I’ve seen arrive on the Appstore in my four short years of iPad music making, without question. Three weeks in and I’m now certain it is. After a series of false dawns and disappointing dead ends, it seems that this is ‘the one’ I am finally going to settle on for the majority of projects, and is also the one I have no doubts about believing how endlessly rewarding taking the considerable time and effort needed to release its full potential will be. Although frankly you can create stuff that is gonna make you start smiling after just a few minutes of a YouTube tutorial. Just the module sounds alone are pretty stunning, but the sheer number of things I can do with just the handful of features I have already learnt, let alone the dozens of modules I have no idea how to incorporate yet, and then combine, is staggering! This app will be relevant for years to come, no doubt about that - you only need to look at Sunrizer to agree that this isn’t even a particularly bold claim, it’s older than me teeth and people still rave about it! The promise of more modules to come will I’m sure be delivered in spades, but when an app is this damn good at the first iteration (faultless btw, not a glitch or crackle), then any additions will just be like getting an extra blob of custard on an already perfect pudding. Very nice and all, but the pudding’s the thing, man. Dive into the pudding. Take an aqualung :D.Version: 1.03

It’s full of stars! This was always one of the better ipad apps. This latest update is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited updates in the iOS music world. It delivers a truly amazing platform for making music. Thank you Giku for the App, Ben for the videos and all the beta testers and forum users that make this such an amazing experience..Version: 2.0

The new update makes an awesome package even better!I have used drambo for a few years. I really love the ability to be modular and dig deep to design and sequence. The ability to get granular really ups the game! The wavetable oscillators are fantastic. and the control is awesome! One improvement that would be fantastic: IAA workflow inclusion. It’s a shame that I can route my midi through core and bring it into something like cubasis or AUM for editing or hosting, but I am not able to take my standalone session’s audio and bring it in..Version: 2.0

WhoaaaDrambo is one of those package, which makes you feel like you’ve been living under a rock... like was I asleep for a few years... so far ahead... suddenly you look back at your other gear and it looks like dinosaurs....Version: 1.32

Very creativeIt’s really creative and fun …a bit like Bitwig for ios..a looping module that sets tempo would be a nice addition💎…but connecting with loopy pro is working nice 👍 🔂.Version: 2.0

Wow…I have never reviewed or commented on anything as quickly as I have for this gem. And yes I said anything, not app, ANYTHING. I know I’ve only touched the surface but just going through the menus and seeing what this is capable of is pretty mind blowing. The fact that something as powerful as this is this accessible is just incredible…. Hats of to the Devs!.Version: 1.40

1.4 update is brilliantThanks to the new multi-out interface compatibility I can now use this in a live setup without routing through other apps. Awesome work as always!.Version: 1.40

Sheer awesomenessThis has scratched my itch for an OPZ or Elektron. Granted, physical buttons and knobs are more desirable, but at ten times the price of this app my wallet is thanking me. You can get pretty weird and I’ve only scratched the surface. Looking forward to putting more time into Drambo and hopefully wrapping my head around everything it has to offer. It works perfectly as a sequencer in AUM, once I wrap up a couple projects in other apps that’s where I’m headed next, with Drambo front and center!.Version: 1.03

AmazingThe best music app in the AppStore by a mile.. the possibilities with this are endless. Please please bring this to the Mac for use in Logic!! 😄.Version: 1.31

Amazing App! Small issue/ requestLove this app! Incredible workflow, sounds etc! Really nothing like it!!! My only issue, is that when I export audio its exporting at a lower tempo and pitch than my project. Tried with a couple different projects to both Dropbox and AudioShare and they all exported wonky. I know it’s a new app and there’s bound to be some bugs, but please fix!, I would also absolutely love an export stems mode as well as export midi. Overall thanks for an incredibly powerful machine guys! You really nailed this I can work around with no stem export by soloing everything and bouncing one at a time, but stems would be so much easier and less time consuming for the user.Version: 1.01

IncredibleQuite enjoying this but I wish there was a redo button next to the undo button. Seems there is room for one..Version: 1.03

Incredible.Don’t hesitate. Just buy. Not only is this one of the most innovative apps of all time. It’s also an amazing sequencer inside AUM/ApeMatrix. The waves extension is worth the price of admission too. Go. Now. You’re worth it..Version: 1.30

Best audio workspaceThe most fun I have ever had making music. So good that you could buy an iPad just for this. The iPhone version is still okay but needs a full ui rework to be really usable..Version: 1.40

Best Groovebox on any platformI’ve used almost every groovebox on iOS and Drambo is the best of the best. I’ve never been so productive and creative when making Music as i am when I’m using Drambo..Version: 2.12

A Steal at any priceDrambo has absolutely revolutionized iOS music making. There is nothing quite like it in all of Hardware and Software ( although you could maybe get close if you had a table with 2 Octatracks, a Digitakt, a Digitone, and a Modular Synth case full of modules) , but that wouldn’t fit in your pocket. I love using Drambo to host other auv3s, but even by itself it is insanely flexible. Not to mention the stream of updates that have continued to improve it and add a myriad of new possibilities. Mr Beepstreet has truly created a modern classic!.Version: 2.12

Ridiculously PowerfulI’m deducting one star because it feels (to me) like the UI can get in its own way some times, especially when I need to do a bit of menu diving. But this is such and endlessly powerful and versatile app that you kind of have to expect to spend some time learning the interface..Version: 2.26

Roll up your sleeves!Even though this app is very very deep, it’s not as difficult as you may think upon first impressions. The manual is good, read it! Compared to other modular systems, I find this one way easier to get on with. The developer is passionate about helping on the AB Forum as well. This app is a never ending ultra creative journey through patch creation, experimenting, and sound design. It shares a lot of ideas with groove boxes that cost astronomically more. Genius! 5 stars all the way up.Version: 1.0

This thing is like to much for wordsAll I can say is GET THIS NOW!!!!.Version: 1.30

Awesome!Been using this for couple of months now, new to iOS. I tried NanoStudio first, but found it very buggy when using a lot of AU3s. But tried this and find it very stable. It reminds me of Ableton/ Bitwig in a lot of ways, so versatile and powerful. I love the fact it has a step input sequencer which Ableton doesn’t, really quick to input sequences just like a key step. Negatives for me are mainly the piano roll. can be fiddly and needs an improved undo, often I press undo after making mistakes and it reverts back too many steps and I have to redo the whole thing, but I’m sure this will be improved. I tried AUM as a host but find it saps up my creativity having to think about my routings just to get a sequencer and keyboard connected to a synth , while Drambo just add audio unit, choose audio unit and it’s ready to play. Think Drambo is my portable DAW ......Version: 2.12

A complete game changerI can’t get over how good this is. It changes everything for iOS music. Creative, immediate and one of the best UX and UI workflows of any creative app on any platform. The hype is 100% justified. It’s pushing me in all kinds of new directions. I own both a digitakt and octatrack and seriously beginning to wonder if I’m going to need to keep them now..Version: 1.04

The BEST on IOSSimply incredible. Nothing else I’ve used on iOS compares to this beast..Version: 1.04

This app is unbelievableI might be more hardware inclined, being a huge Elektron fanboy, but this app is everything I could unreasonably want from a piece of hardware and so much more. Parameter locks, morphing, modular environment that’s easy to get working with. This has been the thing that’s joyfully pulling me back into making music/sounds again. It’s a very inspirational tool and I’m so grateful that this powerful thing is available on both iPad and iPhone. Thank you for making this app BeepStreet! It’s a beautiful piece of work!.Version: 1.01

WowDo you want to learn modular or do you just like the modular concept? If so then you need this wonderful app. It is so well thought out and is very solid. Updates come often. There are many excellent how to youtube videos, so anyone can get going creating in no time. I like it a lot and imagine it growing and growing with more and more components. Do you want to have fun and create cool quality sounds and sequences then this app is the way to go. You can use it as standalone but better still in an au host where there is no limit..Version: 1.11

Perfect iOS appI can say, without hyperbole, that this is the best thing to happen to my iPad. It’s deep, intuitive, and unbelievably flexible. I’ve only really had a few hours poking around it it, but I can see that the possibilities are pretty much endless. Best compliment that I can offer is that I can genuinely see this replacing over half of my iOS music making arsenal. It’s a keeper!.Version: 1.01

The best music production app for iOS/macOSThere are many musical apps for production out there. There are your essentials full DAW like Cubasis or BeatMaker 3 (Auria Pro is abandonware, dont waste your $50). There are your essential utilities like Audiobus. There are semi-DAWs like nanostudio and Gadget or Loopy Pro, which are getting closer to my point. And finally, you have your wide assortment of synths and AUv3 apps. There is nothing quite like Drambo because it amalgamation of all of these things, yet not anything else is like it. Drambo is the single best music production app I have ever used or seen on the Apple platform. The developer is genius for making what is aptly dubbed a modular groovebox. It is something that any and all music producers on iOS or macOS would have to try in order to not miss out on something very special. I am not even a synth producer, but Drambo has completely changed my mind on possibilities on the iPad and general workflow. Combine this with a 25 key midi controller and you literally have endless possibilities. There are many videos to go in depth on what the features are so I can’t compare my review to those. All I can say is this is undoubtedly the single most ambitious, elegant and essential production app for the Apple Music producer. I have to give a tip of the hat to the developer because he single-handedly changed music production with Drambo in a very unique and fresh yet accessible way. Any analog producers waiting to go digital, this is your ticket. Any electronic producers who don’t have this need to waste no more time as this is a bargain for what you get..Version: 2.24

Simply amazingTakes only a short while to learn but when you do? Wooooow. Buy it. Now. 😊.Version: 1.01

IOS ultimate groove box masterpieceThis is the game changer I was waiting for. It just made the iPad not just a viable professional music making platform in my eye but an absolute must have. Just for the sampler features coupled with the flawless sequencer it is worth the asked price... For the first time an iPad software instrument truly inspire me like only hardware could do. Beat making in this app is so fluid and natural it is like like they read my mind to make everything I could ask forever. It also work perfectly inside DAWs. I put 10 instances whitout an hiccups so making full finished song with it is a breeze. Stop everything you are making and buy it. This is perfection..Version: 1.01

Please updatePlease update its been 9 months its starting to get buggy.Version: 1.40

A musical tool boxI have to say that I have been working with apps since Samplr first came out and Audiobus was just starting out. The Drambo app musical playground has been groundbreaking for me personally. I have had a hard time understanding modular. Sound for More and Ben Richards tutorials have been absolutely essential but I can now begin to feel comfortable with modular and it’s concepts due completely to Drambo. I really have incredible fun just jamming with it. It is natural and now with Auv3 it is absolutely endless in variation. Bravo what an app, what a environment what a musical world to explore. Thank You..Version: 1.30

Music app of the decade hands down. It’s hard to believe how much power is in this little app. If you can manage to get past the learning curve, this app can essentially emulate any bit of hardware you can imagine. Synths, samplers, sequencers, clip launching, and anything you could want is in here. It’s like euro rack meets groove box with the ability to build any architecture and functionality you’d like. The icing on the cake is that it is being actively developed..Version: 2.24

Unreal.I’ve used many a platform and hardware device over the years, but I’ve literally never seen anything like Drambo. This single app can replace an entire studio of equipment and DAWs. Too deep to even begin to explain, yet so straightforward that you can jump right in and start making music. Truly a work of art and the last piece of music gear I’ll ever use..Version: 1.03

Incredible, versatile, holistic, creative musical instrument!I’ve only explored Drambo for a week or so, but I am blown away at the brilliance of the design and possibilities for musical creativity. It really seems to do EVERYTHING—sound design/modular synthesis, groovebox , in-depth sequencer, DAW/host capability, sampler, effects unit, and on and on...all customizable in endless ways. It’s the kind of app that meets you at your interest and immediately gets you thinking about possibilities you would otherwise not consider. For what this does, the price could be many times higher. Bravo, BeepStreet! I will be spending a LOT of time in this app. Incredibly impressed!.Version: 1.30

Amazing Sequencing systemIf you like the way Elektron devices work, then this app will be heaven for you. The Octatrack was most definitely an inspiration, but Drambo goes far beyond that as it is also a full on Modular system if you want it to be. It can also load AU3s & you get up to 16 tracks to play with. Full Parameter locking is supported and it has Elektron style per step conditions but takes it a bit further as you select multiple trigger steps as opposed to just one. You can also use conditions behind the note to affect only the p-locks for example. I’m still pretty new to it & haven’t explored the Modular side too deeply yet, but it’s a dream come true for me as I really enjoy the Elektron workflow. It’s a bargain at the price it sells for & it also works on Macs..Version: 2.20

Astonishing!More power, fun and creativity than £10,000 of modular hardware with a rack full of Octatracks. Literally scraping my jaw off the floor every day in astonishment. If I could give it 6 stars I’d give it 7. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.23

Best in classIOS has a few completely exceptional music apps. This is one of them. A modular environment that matches the flexibility of desktop modular software. A sequencer paradigm that outclasses Elektron’s hardware. Buy this now..Version: 1.21

A masterpeiceThere’s nothing like drambo on any other platform, this is more than an ipad app, it’s a unique sound synthesis device that rivals any modular or hardware synth and lets you create some truly interesting arrangements with total control of most parameters (i’d like it if there were a way to set the ranges params for example more than +-24 semitones on the oscillator or finer grained control like the mini osc). It is also consistently improving and getting new features like the wonderful just-added spectrum/scope. I love drambo..Version: 2.24

Fantastic!Such a fun and enjoyable app to make music with. I feel like drambo gives groove boxes a run for their money. There’s just no limit to what ya can do..Version: 2.0

Indispensable : a must haveIOS is a lovely place for music software and plugins, but Drambo is *really* standout. There’s a bit of a learning curve, because of how powerful it is, but it’s worth it. Imagine the Elektron style hardware groove boxes workflow (perhaps friendlier), but each voice is a modular synth, effect for midi processor or something in between. Embrace the madness.Version: 2.24

Really incredibleEven on the phone it’s super usable. Best most complete groovebox app I’ve seen on mobile. Very powerful. Extremely well thought out interface, designed from the ground up for touch screens. Knowledge of modular music systems and hardware sequencers isn’t required but you’ll have an easier time if you have some. Probably not for people looking for something simple but if you are serious about making electronic music on mobile this is really one of the best things out..Version: 1.02

Genuinely one of the best apps!I rarely if ever write reviews for Apps in the App store. However, after a couple of days of use of this App I can let you all know, that this is the BEST music production App I have ever used, and I have many of them - the versatility of the App is mind blowing - honestly, I could not improve it if I thought about it for years! Well done dev team and PLEASE keep developing the App..Version: 1.04

IncredibleReally enjoying the flexibility and inspiration afforded by this incredible piece of software. Don’t be intimidated by all of the modules and options. You can start simple and learn from there. What I’m most excited about though, is the possibility for further expansion. There’s a solid foundation here so far that will only get better in the future. If the developer keeps adding and improving, I think this will be my go-to sonic playground for many years to come. Can’t recommend this app highly enough!.Version: 1.04

Outstanding! This thing is unfathomable ridiculous! Absolutely love it! One thing I hope is coming in the future would be a pattern change implementation via midi, similar to Grove Rider 16 from Jimaudio. This would make this app the perfect companion for my hardware grove boxes. Keep up the good work and thank you!.Version: 1.01

Interface impeccable, intuitive, potentiel sonore infini, qualité impressionnante. Le musicien électronique est choyé! Chapeau au développeur..Version: 1.0

Whoa!!!This makes modular synthesis so much more accessible than other iOS apps I’ve tried, especially since it incorporates an intuitive groove box style workflow. It’s like MiRack and Grooverider got cross mojonated and sprinkled with magic dust!.Version: 1.0

Engaging, amazing, comprehensive!I don’t write too many App Store reviews but I felt like Drambo deserved a few words. This feels like one of those apps where you might you go out and buy an iPad just to have this app. The selection of modules is really good and flexible to build almost anything you could imagine. The UI is intuitive and fast once you learn it, and I found learning it to be really fun. The sequencer is extremely powerful. The fact that it’s both an AUv3 host and plugin makes it very flexible in the way you work with other music apps. This is really an app that lets you try out creative ideas quickly and easily. I haven’t had it too long but it seems like everything you need to develop those ideas into full tracks is in here too. Loving it. Thanks BeepStreet!.Version: 1.31

Incredible beastieWas hard to find much info on this machine, very few ratings, and not much in the way of solid reviews online. I came across it after someone mentioned it in a Facebook group discussion. Most of the YouTube vids at the moment hide the true capability of this app by using it alongside other apps in AUM, or are more specific tutorials, with very little in the way of general demonstrative reviews. Make no mistake, this is a serious tool. Think of it like an Elektron or OPz but with a better UI. The plain interface makes it easy to see what’s going on, but belies an incredibly deep beast within. Super glad I took a chance on this. similar functionality in the ‘hardware’ (still dsp based) world would set you back at least AU$1000, so the price tag on this thing is a steal. Works fine on my iPhone, but would suggest a recent model to maximise the potential of this app. The elektron style scene morph is awesome, and there seems to be a million different ways to move your groove along. Would have to say it’s one of the best music apps I’ve found this year. Highly recommended..Version: 1.23

Nothing less that outstanding.Just a couple of days since I downloaded - and this thing has made a lot of my other apps completely obsolete. It’s that good. The sequencer workflow is just like my Elektron boxes - perhaps even more flexible - and Elektron’s sequencer is the best in class! I haven’t even dug into the modular machine building part in any depth - but already I’ve constructed a multi-oscillator analog synth that has real sonic punch - far quicker than I could fathom something like miRack. This is just outstanding work and it’s just the start..Version: 1.01

One app to rule them all…The modular concept combined with a sequencer, clip launcher, controller and effects rack makes this a uniquely useful and fun app. Works well with external MIDI hardware (synths and drums). I would suggest a way to colour the clip pads and tracks like many launch controllers do because it makes it easier to navigate the clip matrix..Version: 2.12

Game changerIf your thinking about getting any electron device, a squarp pyramid, or pioneer toraiz squid, save your money get this, it does the lot and more..Version: 1.0

AmazingDrambo has been the only thing that’s replaced the simple workflow of my Electribe but the provided the power of an Elektron box. Would love to see some of the functionality from Numerology, like a MonoNote or Chord sequencer.Version: 1.30

Keeps getting better - but just needs one thing devs!Had a honeymoon period with Drambo before switching back to the laptop setup. Have been using music software since 1998 and have realised that Drambo has made my hardware and software obsolete. Enough to buy a new iPad solely to run Drambo and Auria as my mobile DAW. ****Just please one thing must be added - please make separate stem export a priority**** it’s the missing link in the golden chain. Thank you beepstreet for saving me time, money and sanity. Awesomeness of the highest order..Version: 1.33

Great tool but why add’l purchases...Drambo is absolutely amazing. It is hands-down the most complete, functional, feature-packed app I’ve ever used. The possibilities are seemingly infinite! I do find it a little ridiculous that, after spending $20, you then have to pay even more to unlock additional features. 20yrs ago, this would have cost thousands & its size would have taken up half a room. To have something like this now that costs just $20 & fits in the palm of my hand is absolutely incredible. But, when we live in a time in which there are so many apps & so many free options, despite a majority of those apps paling in comparison, people still would mostly settle for free. $20 for an app is almost unheard of, no matter how much value it may produce. When that’s the reality & someone pays $20 for an app, that’s an incredible compliment to the developer. It’s validation. To then tack on additional purchases in the app just seems wrong IMO not saying the devs time isn’t worth anything, but the move reeks of greed..Version: 1.31

Brilliant, and improving all the timeDrambo is easily the best thing on my iPad. Whatever you want to do, it can do it, and will probably do it better than you thought possible. More importantly, there’s a thriving community of active users and the developer is constantly involved, adding new modules and features, and listening to feedback and suggestions..Version: 1.04

Already My Favorite AppAll right, so maybe some people are going to think it’s too early to throw around the f-word. But honestly, I think this app is on par with Ableton in terms of being the sort of software I’d actually want to use live. It can legit hold its own next to hardware synths. And that sequencer. It’s a real blast. I mean, it’s even fun to use it on iPhone... iPhone! It does something that I’ve wanted for a while but never really expected to get: a reliable composition/performance tool that I can carry with me everywhere but still use in the finished song. I can actually sketch out a song on break or something and then go home and continue to work on that idea. And I won’t just abandon the original patch because I have better options on my desk or computer. So yeah. This app is no joke. This is kinda the most fun I’ve had making music on my phone. And of course the iPad version is no slouch..Version: 1.01

InsaneYou can really tell how much R&D went into this app..Version: 1.0

Yes! Yes!When I think about my previous reviews, having given them 5 stars, I have to make an exception in the case of Drambo, it’s beyond the star system. It’s in a league of its own. It’s incredibly well thought out, a joy to use, does loads! and now it is an au host! Come on, just.... Yes! Yes!.Version: 1.30

This is it folksIncredible app. It’s as intuitive as it is consistent. Anything you don’t get right away will be found in the manual. It just makes sense. Of COURSE connections are made automatically, like from an envelope to an oscillator to a filter. Of COURSE it’s all color coded and flows left to right so you don’t even need to guess what’s going into what. Gone are the days of having to connect a VCA to an LFO just to adjust its amount—every CV input you connect automatically gets an attenuator. The tracks themselves are modules, which means even the master track can have all sorts of modular goodness applied to it easily. I’ve only been using it as a drum sequencer (not even half of its potential) and its the best drum sequencer around. Finally, I can play in odd time signatures and have it make sense. None of these weird half-measures (no pun intended) where I can’t even have a decent triplet feel without squinting and scratching my head at the sequencer. I love it. Only had one tiny bug so far that I don’t even remember. The devs have done a fantastic job and I look forward to watching this thing grow..Version: 1.03

Just amazingI have long been a user and lover of Groove Rider GR-16 by Jim Audio. It’s a nearly perfect app in the way that it captures the electribe/Digitakt groovebox workflow and even allows for features those two don’t have. For a long time it reigned supreme in my eyes. Then along comes Drambo, taking the step sequencer groovebox concept to the next level. The synths and oscillators sound incredible and in fact the overall audio output of this thing is super clean and professional. The modular playground is very deep (probably way deeper than I will ever need) and I love that you can effect audio with the modules. For me, the ability to sample, slice and sequence stereo samples is where it’s at. The addition of true elektron style p-locks is very welcome and I am so happy to see a developer bring in the cross-fader idea from the octatrack. O, and it’s auv3 ready, which means anything I make is easy to get into GarageBand and by extension into Logic Pro. Overall, Drambo is many of the best ideas from modern groovebox and modular systems rolled into a very solid and relatively intuitive package. Highly recommend but only if you’re willing to dig into sound design and enjoy working with lots of different tools for generating electronic music. It might put you off if your preference is a ready-to-use in 2 minutes kind of instrument..Version: 1.01

An Elektron work flow for iosWhat's not to like? I mean there's some bugs... The rest is bonus 🙏.Version: 1.40

A Total Game-changer.There came a day I realized that a $10 app on my friggin’ phone could run circles around my expensive hardware Sampler Sequencer. So I started making music on my phone instead. Over the years I’ve loved many apps, but I consistently find myself going for Caustic above all others. Be it as great sounding as Gadget, or as well made as BM 3, nothing could ever truly be considered a Caustic Killer. It’s just so damned good. I bought Drambo yesterday... Today I buried Caustic..Version: 1.02

Incredibly flexible and stable. The developer must be one of the hardest working on IOS. This app has had regular updates - not just bug fixes, new features regularly. This is the sort of thing you should support..Version: 1.40

Oh Lordy!I bought this, 5 mins later the doorbell rang....it was Chuck Norris. Basically great things happen with Drambo (Rambos half brother), ‘nuff said..Version: 1.0

Amazing, AmazingCan’t really say enough about this app. Great to use, so deep with an incredible amount of ways to use it. But at the same time easy to use. I’m a hardcore Elektron user so coming from Octatrack to this is like heaven. Will be pairing the 2 together from now on. Thanks beepstreet.Version: 1.0

Very CapableDrambo is stupidly powerful. I come from a hardware... 8 track dynamic performance sampler(if you know, you know). This app is almost as capable as the hardware in some ways and surpasses in others. Even in its early stages, Drambo shows so much value. My biggest issue is the UI. It isn’t the prettiest or the most ergonomic but that’s expected, it’s a very young app. But I wholeheartedly recommend learning this thing now. As long as development continues, Drambo is here to stay..Version: 1.23

FabulousThere are still a few rough edges, but it is still astonishing. A modular groove box wonderland..Version: 1.01

AMAZING10/10 app..Version: 1.40

It’s deepThis Is the way forward.. instantly accessible but very deep, great interface and very intuitive, I literally can’t wait to see how Drambo will take shape over the coming months, easily the best money I’ve spent so far.. great in standalone but mind blowing inside of AUM...Version: 1.23

Still Amazing but very unstable with latest releaseEven more has been added in this latest release yet it feels like when I finally decide to dive into the app, there are many many bugs and glitches abound! I hope they get ironed out soon :(.Version: 1.30

Don’t listen to Cameron this app is generous! Are you kidding me the few bucks it costs for the in app purchase is EXTREMELY worth it!!! Some people have gotten too used to getting amazing tools for basically free. Of all the thousands of dollars I’ve shelled out for audio programs in the past on PC and the iOS ecosystem has some of the best tools in the biz for pocket change! Just the fact that the DLC gives you as many wavetable “modifiers” (as I like to call them) as you want! That alone blows away any wavetable synth I’ve ever seen, and this guy is seriously complaining that a game changing upgrade costs less than lunch. It makes me sick and I’m sorry that the dev has his/her hard work spat upon by people calling them greedy when the only other similar deal on PC I ever saw was for Tuareg2 (I think it was v2, the one with Amber and the FM synth) way, way, back in the day I think it cost 35 bones. And did far less than Drambo. On iPad I paid 50 for Mix Box and I think that was on sale. 30 for that EQ you know which one… heck, this app is such a bargain… I’m still getting to know it and I’m blown away at what it can do. The sequencer is strange the first time you use it but I quickly saw how advantageous it is… I’ve used a fair amount of groove boxes in hardware and software form, the Electribe 2 was amazing sounding but the sequencer was so bad, so this is like a breath of fresh air… and might actually be the perfect groovebox. Worth every penny and I’m eagerly awaiting the DLC where there is more phase modifiers for the wavetable I absolutely love chaining those things up…. Please increase your greed and charge me I’d be happy to hand over double the price of the last pack for even 5 more wave effects they are so fun. Please. Lol ok for real though this is so unique please go for the gold and figure out some more wave effects… maybe some kid of bit randomized type of thing with variable strength and idk maybe bias and block size so it would be kind of like distortion if you pushed it but more like noise if you kept it at a fine grain so to speak. I don’t know if that idea makes sense but sounds cool to me! Thanks for making this incredible, innovative software!!! The noteworthy features are way too many to list I recommend you give it a try if you ever tried a groovebox and liked it. It’s a complete modular sound design sandbox that assumes groovebox form at night! Oh ya it’s also AUv3 so boom now it’s a plug-in too!.Version: 1.40

Cuddle up with your ipad and make some musicNice snappy interface, good feature set, filter sounds great! nothing better than a new app while the whole world is in lockdown! lots to explore! the on screen kb could do with pitch bend..Version: 1.0

Amazing, One glitch found so far, a few suggestionsI really love this app, it can be as simple or complex as you make it. I love sequencing and I also love to have as much control over my sound as possible, this app really nails both. The use of the QWERTY keyboard as a piano roll and midi mappings is by far my favorite feature. I have found a glitch within the Audio Units feature when using the keyboard. When an audio unit plugin window is open, the keyboard stops functioning. This resolves itself once the window has closed, but I would appreciate the ability to tweak parameters while playing the keys on my keyboard. Also, the ability to search the modules is needed. If I forget where a certain module is, its a pain to hunt it down. iPadOS 15 adds a multi-window shortcut to the top of the display (3 little dots), and this gets in the way of the controls at the top of the screen. Theres not way to turn this off so there will need to be a fix made within Drambo. I tried to contact the developer through their website but got a 404 error. I trust that this will be addressed, every other aspect of the program is remarkable!.Version: 1.40

Incredible and essentialHas everything you need to make complete tracks, experimentations, jams..it does basically everything you could ask for and does it efficiently. I would have paid double and still felt like I was getting a steal..Version: 2.26

Octatrack meets modular ... meets intuitive UI!!!First impression review (too early to comment on bugs/stability) Drambo is mighty impressive for its modular synth UI alone: no cables, auto patching, fast, touch friendly. It’s like a touchscreen first evolution of Bitwig’s Grid. Then comes the incredibly powerful Elektron style sequencing... The most impressive thing to me is how user friendly the whole thing remains. RTFM to ease the learning curve and for the excellent power tips. But the combination of clear UI + presets, demo songs, and tutorials makes the app surprisingly easy to learn by just playing with it. To be clear: this is a complex, deep app, with a TON to learn. Those seeking instant gratification should probably look elsewhere. If an Elektron style Groovebox with a modular sound engine appeals to you, dive head first!.Version: 1.0

The most unique and powerful daw on iOSDrambo is something like Ableton mixed with Reaktor. Its provides so much in such a simple and slick workflow. I keep discovering new features and I feel like I will never hit a ceiling. Just about anything you can imagine is somehow possible with this setup. I compose entire songs in here. I’ve tried AUM and Cubasis but Drambo is the only app on IOS that I am CONSISTENTLY coming back to. I spend at least 1 hour noodling around in here every day… It’s so addicting. I recommend this for literally ANYONE. Especially curious types who want to go beyond tweaking presents and really start learning sound design from the ground up. For instance I’ve learned so much about FM drum synthesis in this app. The techniques behind the po 32 tonic for instance always baffled me. Now I’m learning to create noisey hihat sounds out of a bunch of oscillators and an amp envelope. Totally amazing. I’m so happy this app exists. Honestly would pay more if I could. It’s worth more than Cubasis to me. Thanks Beepstreet you are a Don.Version: 2.20

THE GREATEST APP EVER MADE!Amazing! Incredible! Wonderful! I cannot overstate this: THIS. APP. CAN. DO. ANYTHING!!! If you can imagine it, you can build it. I have a studio full of hardware, synths, MIDI controllers, Ableton etc. Drambo has enabled me to connect and control it all - in a way that simply wasn’t possible before. You do need to put the time in. Keep using it, try every module. Slowly possibilities will emerge that will blow you away. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT!!!.Version: 2.24

Amazing Groovebox/DAWDrambo is such a fun and powerful groovebox with constant updates. Totally worth for the price. The cmodular approach is quite intuitive and provides a lot of flexibility for experimentation and generative stuff. I would like to see the piano roll snapping to the scale in a future update..Version: 2.26

Must have for any iOS musicianThis is the Swiss Army knife of apps. It’s the legos of music gear. It has saved me thousands of dollars because every time I see new apps or hardware you just start thinking how you can recreate/ improve it using drambo. Thank you for this app!.Version: 1.40
