Sidekick by Sorted Food for Positive User Reviews

Cannot recommend enough!I like cooking, but I struggle with ideas and effort, so I am partial to a few too many takeaways. I watched Sorted for years on YT, and didn’t really pay much attention when they launched this. WOW I was wrong to do that. This has made my life so much easier, healthier, and cheaper. I really cannot put across in words just how much I want to recommend this to everyone. In the spirit of fairness, I’d say that the instructions can, rarely, be the tiniest bit confusing as they try to be super simple. This just means every now and then I miss a small step, but this is normally my own fault..Version: 1.9.8

Works wellI have been using the app for about a year now. It gives me recipes that I would have never thought of that turn out great. I normally search for a pack with a vegetable that looks great in the market and then can quickly grab the rest with the grocery list. Instructions have never let me down..Version: 2.21.0

Changed our livesUsing the food pack recipes my girlfriend and I have been able to come together in the evenings to scratch cook tasty food, we both genuinely look forward to cooking in the evenings! We have also been able to cut our weekly food bill by almost half saving up enough money to go away on holiday. Many thanks to the sorted team!!!.Version: 2.16.0

Brilliant appI have been using This for around 18 months now. It definitely saves money and cuts on food waste like it says. Not only that though it helps take away so e of the stress of deciding what to cook. Not only that it has taught me things that have improved my cooking skills and even convince my partner to cook dinners by herself which is a big deal. Awesome work guys..Version: 2.5.2

Great App for AmateursMy husband and I are enjoying the recipes and the handy shopping list! We would like a place for personal notes for next time (e.g. use processor instead of hand blender, good with toast, better as a side, etc.)..Version: 2.20.0

Fantastic appAbsolutely love the simplicity and overall usefulness of this app. It’s clear, concise and easy to use. All of the recipes have been delicious, never paid for an app before and I am so glad I did. The savings I have made on not wasting food has more than paid for itself. Will definitely renew. I do wish there were more low carb and high protein recipes. And a few more for an air fryer..Version: 2.18.3

Love it!I have really enjoyed this app and how it has streamlined my cooking. I cook at home a lot more now and don’t have lots of left over ingredients in my fridge. The app does have some bugs, but it hasn’t troubled me too much. One thing I would love to see with this app is the ability to favorite individual recipes in addition to packs and the ability to build your own packs from favorite recipes..Version: 2.9.2

This app solves so many problemsI’m vegan and I was worried the app wouldn’t give me enough options. It has made my menu easier, my meals more interesting, and the shopping feature means I don’t buy things I’m not going to use. This has dinner and lunch sorted but now I need breakfast too..Version: 2.23.1

Best Meal PlanThis Meal Packs app is the best meal plan! I’ve tried many others before and I found the ingredients expensive and the recipes too involved - or the recipes were bland. Not these! I’m Canadian and we are spending about 130$ max for two people for about a week of food. There’s been some weeks that have been as low as $80 if I’ve got a stocked freezer! Every meal is a hit and I enjoy the mix of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Since following these meals - I’ve lost 60 lbs. It’s not advertised as a weight loss plan but every meal leaves me feeling full and has taught me proper portion sizes. I can’t recommend it enough!.Version: 1.13.1

Great app, a few bugs to work outLove this app and cook with it regularly, but am still having some issues with the update for planning/mixing meal packs for the week. Can’t see any dishes I’ve added when I go to the weekly calendar. Really great feature, though, and hoping some updates are in the works to fix those bugs..Version: 2.7.2

Absolute game changer! My partner & I absolutely adore this app and what it offers. We’re both vegetarians & we’ve loved everything we’ve made over the past few weeks, whether it’s trying something completely new or enjoying twists on some classics. The meal packs are an absolute game changer, and have helped us finish each week with no food waste which we were previously guilty of due to poor planning (and our shops have been cheaper too!). Such a fantastic idea which the Sorted team have executed perfectly. I’ve watched SortedFood for years and always loved their content, now I get to love their recipes/meal packs too :).Version: 2.22.2

Best thing ever!!!I’ve only used this for one grocery trip and one dinner and I already never want to live without it!!! I never know what to buy at the grocery store and we end up eating the same thing all the time or getting take out I tried 4 of the at home meal kits. And they’re good but they’re pricey and by the time the produce gets to my house to be unpacked from the box some of it is going off With this I easily made a grocery list and I didn’t have to think about what to make for dinner at all!! It was so easy!!! The recipes are easy to follow. It’s amazing. Only feedback is I wish things were listed in cups more and some veggies I had to Google because I’m in the states and we call things by a different name. But it wasn’t hard to do. Amazing!!! Please take my money and never stop making this product. Omg! Thank you sorted food!!!.Version: 1.6.1

Absolutely Amazing! This app is very much worth the money. Not only have we saved money on groceries but we’ve expanded our food knowledge so much. After a few months of using it I can say that we’ve absolutely loved every meal we’ve made. It’s a very well thought out app that really does provide a useful service for way less money than you’d expect to pay. I’d 100% recommend this app to anybody that’s considering it..Version: 2.7.1

Learning to cook!Growing up, I was only taught minimal cooking skills, such as scrambled eggs and heating tortillas on the stove. Packs has taught me (indirectly) how to cook so much more. Learning how to time dishes so they come out together, how to cook with foods is always wonders about (like eggplant), and how to weave washing up into cooking. Overall, it’s made the kitchen a far more pleasant place to be ^_^ I’ve also started incorporating some of the recipes into our staples (my wife is crazy about the potato salad). Over the past year of using packs, our kitchen staples have altered and we’re eating out less and less. I highly recommend trying out Packs - it’s a chance to try out things you’ve never heard of! Or in our case, things we’ve heard of but were too intimidated by (like croque Madame)..Version: 1.12.1

Great app if your feeling bored with cooking and eatingBeen using this app for well over a year and during that time I’ve never been bored with cooking, planning meals or eating like I previously was before this app. The recipes are really quick and easy to cook and very varied. I was a little concerned initially with how many recipes I would have to repeat due to lack of recipe packs but there’s always plenty of choice and new packs being added all the time..Version: 2.19.0

Amazing!Honestly this has been a huge money and time saver! Really felt like I was in a rut cooking the same things over and over and this has really exposed me to new recipes that I either thought was too hard or that I wouldn’t like! All the recipes are easy to do and it is all laid out in a way that makes grocery shopping easy! The app has the occasional buggy issue (freezes sometimes when getting new packs or loading them) but it’s not enough to deter use! I love all the recipes in the app and I hope they add more packs for different occasions! (Maybe add a desert pack or a snack pack - this would really help with meal prep) Only suggestions I would have is to make an iPad/computer version because it’s at times hard to follow the recipes on the small phone screen, it also would be great to have more pictures/videos so that I know what I am making looks similar to what it’s supposed to. Please keep up the great work!.Version: 1.1.1

Love the app but….Great app guys! I use a few recipes every week & it is easy to use. Is it possible to configure it for iPad users as well? Just for those who use their iPad’s due to sight or vision issues. Thanks Sorted team :).Version: 2.13.0

Great when you have new baby!I love to cook but felt such anxiety trying to get back into the swing of things after having my first child. It seemed overwhelming to think of meal planning, prepping, and cooking meals I was used to that were sometimes longer meals and required a lot of prep. This app helped virtually eliminate my meal planning; it also helped reduce waste and helped me be able to make delicious quick meals for my husband and I. Now I either use the 4 person option or double the portions and my almost 2 year old loves eating these dishes as well! It helped me feel more myself and kept us healthy cooking at home instead of going out and doing take out more often..Version: 2.18.0

Not perfect but good startI’m glad they added more option varieties. I like the audio instructions as well. It’s a good idea for people who don’t know what to make for the midweek..Version: 0.2.12

Changed our lifestyle for the betterWe have been using the meal pack app for the last couple of months and it has changed our midweek eating habits completely... even after a hard day at work it’s super easy to follow the recipes and end up with something that tastes delicious (we haven’t had a bad meal yet). It also pushes you to explore dishes you wouldn’t usually attempt to cool (especially midweek) which we love. Great work boys..Version: 1.9.0

Highly recommendWe’ve been using this app for almost a year and it has drastically improved our food shopping and weeknight cooking - it takes away so much of the hassle of planning and decision-making after work. We eat less takeout, cook a much wider variety of dishes, and waste so much less food..Version: 2.7.1

Pretty good but...Consistency in how the packs and recipes are viewed is lacking, resulting in a bit of clicking around to find things. Also, being able to sort packs by name would be wonderful. The feature that would make me go from four stars to five would be a field for me to add recipe notes, like "Use half the amount of wine," "add salt," etc. That would be a complete win!.Version: 2.23.0

Love it!A year ago I hated cooking and couldn’t do more than boil pasta. Then after watching the sorted channel I eventually got the app. It takes away all the stress of trying to decide what to cook, and makes the cooking process really stream-lined. I’ve learnt so much and I’m eating healthily. It completely changed my perspective on cooking and has improved my life..Version: 2.5.2

Got me out of a cooking rut!I downloaded this when it first came out and while it was decent then, the changes it’s made since have been awesome. Namely, the ability to filter out ingredients you don’t like. I found there were initially an abundance of courgette recipes when the app first came out and was one of the reasons I ended up unsubscribing. Absolute game changer! Being able to plan out your week in advance is great, and choose the start of your week. We do shopping on a Tuesday night so being able to select Wednesday as the start of the week is a nice touch. Re-downloaded it recently as I was in a cooking rut and began to dislike doing it (and I LOVE food). Safe to say it’s brought me out of that rut as it does all the thinking for me. One suggestion though: it would be really great to be able to copy the full list of ingredients for the recipe to paste into calorie counting apps!.Version: 2.23.0

Great app! This app has really helped us get out of a slump when it comes to dinners - we used to eat the same thing every week. But now it’s more exciting to see what we could cook up, the instructions are so useful and it’s teaching us new techniques as well. The only downside for us is the lack of vegan menu packs, we have to pick a veggie pack and see if we can alter it at all. Which really isn’t the end of the world, and we are happy to carry on using the app..Version: 2.7.1

Almost perfectEnjoyed trying it out for free. Really glad that you can search by diet and add preferences and allergies in. Like that there are quite a few vegan recipes. The only minor issues I had were that it’s obviously geared towards UK users (just involved finding substitutions for certain things on my end) which makes perfect sense and I don’t expect that to change, but also that there isn’t an option for captioning on the end-of-challenge congratulations videos. Definitely a worthwhile app for upping your cooking skills..Version: 2.22.2

Life Saver!!!I cannot recommend this app enough. I held off getting it for a long time because I love to cook and feel confident enough in my skills that I didn’t feel like I needed “help”. That’s NOT all this app is!!! I don’t have to sit and think about what meals I want to eat that week, I don’t have to go through which nights I’ll have to do quick meals and which nights I’ll have time to take my time, I’m not wracking my brain for recipes my whole family will like and because of this app the number of go to meals I have have tripled. Recipes that were just notes to self of things that might be nice are now staples in my family. We’re HUGE sorted food fans (have been since the early early years) and wanted to try this to support them, when it turns out the hard work and INCREDIBLE thoughtfulness they’ve put into this have actually supported their fans/users more than anything. I can’t say thank you enough ❤️.Version: 2.7.0

Genuinely gamechangingI’m only two recipes in and I’m in love. Super easy to use, great selection of recipes and has already taught me loads of things I’ll be using in future cooking. It’s also really nice to be told what to shop for and what to cook rather than getting home and staring into the cupboard for 10 minutes. Could not recommend more!.Version: 1.13.0

<3I love it! The recipes are very good, and you can notice the amount of thought that goes into developing each of the recipes. The idea of staples and using the ingredients you buy per week helps cut down on wastage. The ingredients are used creatively so you don’t feel like it’s the same meal three ways. It makes meal prepping and meal decisions very easy for beginners. I appreciate this app. Also, I love the guys in my ear as I cook ;) What could be better?.Version: 0.2.14

Amazing App and Brilliant Food!!The app itself works brilliantly, I’ve not had any bugs or glitches whilst using it. The food options are great having 2 new meal packs each week with a wide variety of food choice available. Overall I’m glad I signed up as it definitely makes planning my weekly meals hassle free. The only reason I didn’t give this app 5 stars is purely due to my personal situation, I would love it if the meals came with total calorie, protein, carb and fat intake, this would help me with some more informed choices when going for certain meals. The last point I made doesn’t take away that overall this is a great app, has helped me prep my meals for the week alongside reducing any food waste I previously had when cooking during the week. Amazing app and really well done sorted food for making it fresh and new every week..Version: 2.17.1

Plan all of my meals using the appMyself and my partner use the app to plan our meals. We mainly use low cost winners to save so much money on our shopping. There are definitely qol improvements that could be made to the app but the feedback regularly requested means the app is always changing for the better..Version: 2.13.0

Weekly plan being deletedI’ve used this app for around 3 weeks now and have been having an issue where my meal packs for the week keep disappearing and i have to re add them each time i open the app. Other than this its been amazing and helped me save money.Version: 2.11.1

Fantastic!I’m a university student who’s moved away from home. Been watching sorted food for years now and thought I’d give it a go to cut down on cost, time and food waste. The app is absolutely fantastic. I love how easy it is to navigate and select meals. I’m now cooking a variety of meals which I’d never have thought were that easy to do. My flatmates are also now very impressed every night I cook dinner! It is saving me money on my student budget and also making sure I use up all the ingredients I buy. Highly recommend.Version: 2.22.0

No more headaches about meal planning.Had the subscription for about 2-3 months now and it has been great. I didn’t like everything I cooked, but the app made it easier for me to do grocery trips and buy food for the week. I live by myself so the ability to reuse produce through different dishes are great. I sometimes will skip weeks because the portion sizes are huge, but overall great app. Really helped keep me accountable and have more home cooked meal. The team was also very responsive to any issues. My app crashed during one of the week and they were able to fix it overnight. Only thing I would suggest would be have more options for dietary preferences or maybe add suggestion if you’re allergic to seafood or don’t like beans. Highly recommend, especially if you love to cook but is super busy and can’t meal plan..Version: 1.10.0

Simplifies cooking AND shoppingI just moved in with my boyfriend, and this has made planning meals for two people so much easier. We sit down, choose a pack, and that's three dinners decided. It also caters to all sorts of skill levels, I like fiddling with packs that contain more challenging recipes, but if you are feeling lazy or are a beginner some packs consist of pretty simple and easy recipes. The closest thing to a problem is that, being a UK based app, some ingredients are hard to come by in the USA..Version: 1.13.0

Love itSidekick has genuinely solved so many of the issues I’ve had previously while cooking (having to decide what to eat each night, food waste, and constantly looking for new recipes). It saves me both time and money each week, and leaves me excited to make dinner every night ! It’s well worth the subscription :).Version: 2.12.2

Such a great ideaWe’ve been using app for a couple of months and it’s been great. Even though we’re a vegetarians there’s always a choice and now we have a few favourites we can go back to. Much cheaper compared to meal boxes and less wasted packaging. It’s also much easier to do your own simple substitutions if there’s something you don’t like. How could it be better?- it would be great if you could favourite/rate individual recipes so it’s easy to go back to them. Also I use the ‘full recipe’ view so I can read ahead and it would be nice if I could still use timers from it..Version: 2.2.0

Fantastic AppIt really is amazing. Picking the packs and shopping are a breeze. Pretty much removed all food waste from our house and really great recipes. Taking 1 star off for a few usability things to work on. It doesn’t sync well between two devices (expect near real-time for easier shopping, but seems to take a day or never). You also need to adapt to their schedule, as splitting packs between weeks is needlessly tricky. Browsing and adding the packs gets confusing too. Lots of routes to get to recipes but not user friendly on seeing more details or adding. But that still leaves a 4 star app that is well worth a purchase! The channel is amazing too, the guys are all great. Loving Kush appearing more too!.Version: 2.17.1

Love this app!Makes cooking dinner easy and almost fun to have everything planned out. I can’t wait to try more recipes! i’ve done 3 weeks so far (9 meals) and i’ve loved them all. also, my partner and I don’t normally cook together because we can’t figure out how and these recipes make cooking together also easy and fun! loving this app!.Version: 2.2.0

Love it!As a full time stay at home mom of toddler twins with a full time work from home job and a husband who travels during the week 75% of the time, this app has been WONDERFUL. I don’t have the time or energy to put into complicated meal planning or cooking, but this has made it so easy for me to change it up and get out of our food rut! My twins are trying all kinds of new flavors and loving it, and we are saving money on groceries and wasting less! I’m excited to try each new recipe, and feel like we’re eating so well for minimal time and effort!.Version: 1.9.4

Life changer!I have been usinf Sidekick since it's release and it changed completely our weekday dinners. We spent less on shopping as there is zero waste and there is zero stress spent into thinking or preparing meals. I haven't come across a single dish we didn't like the final taste. Definitely recommend..Version: 2.3.0

Love itAmazing app, brilliant recipes!! Would love if they could add a bit onto the pack info to say what recipes would be freezable or could be reheated. I live alone so sometimes it’s a bit of pot luck as to what is still amazing once reheated. Recommended to anyone that will listen..Version: 2.22.2

Perfect accompaniment in the kitchenThis app and membership has changed the way I cook - loads of variety and has enabled me to try things I wouldn’t normally even think to attempt. Great options for veggie meals as well as meat and fish and there’s always a number of options each week. Really helps to reduce food waste as all the ingredients are used up and helps me plan ahead. The instructions are recorded and simple to follow, it really is like having a chef in the kitchen with you. If you’re a home cook if any level looking for inspiration and tasty foods then check this out. You get a month free trial.Version: 2.5.2

Great appThis app has literally changed my life. I used to find it exhausting to cook in the middle of the week after work. With this app getting groceries has become so much easier and organised and there’s something new to try every week. I’ve actually started to enjoy cooking and find inspiration through these recipes. Job well done..Version: 1.6.1

OutstandingGreat app and has everything you need to get banging recipes in a structured manner. Only criticism is the photograph food section, allow the option to upload from the phone gallery as well as take a live picture..Version: 2.11.1

Great app with improvements potentiallyI LOVE sidekick. It’s got really great creative recipes that are so easy to follow and quick to make on a weekday. My only teeny tiny gripe is that there’s way more meals for two than for four. I wish there was a sliding scale for how many people you’re cooking for to double or triple the recipe ingredients and cooking time.Version: 2.13.0

Amazing way to keep your midweek meals freshWas in a bit of a slump of making the same 10 dishes on repeat. This has made midweek meals way more interesting and I have tried thing I never would have considered making before. It makes the process so easy with step by step guides as well as an easy to use shopping list..Version: 2.0.1

Why I wake up on FridayEvery Friday before I crawl out of bed or even put on my glasses I page through the different packs for the week. I’m searching for the key to the next weeks happiness. Bonus overload happens when you go from having just picked out fire recipes to opening it up and hearing Jamie’s voice. I’m sorry he is the best. Barry can compete since he reads with energy in his tone. Every time Mike starts talking I cringe since saying Fahrenheit when you can just say F is apparently a crime. A crime against my ears. One with no punishment to the speaker..Version: 0.3.1

Great recipesI love the fact that I can’t see calories for each meal! With someone with past and current eating disorders it helps so much to not see the calorie intake. It gives me the freedom to eat any of the recipes without any explicit negative calorific thoughts like so many other recipes repositories have :).Version: 2.19.4

Does exactly what it says on the tinI’ve been using this app for a year and a half and it has genuinely saved me a lot of money on groceries and made me a better cook. It’s like having a meal kit subscription, but with zero packaging waste and better instructions thanks to the audio guide. There are so many recipes I never get bored, and they’re all easy, delicious, and generously portioned. If you’re not a UK user you have to make slight adjustments to ingredients sometimes and it’s easier to use metric measurements the way the recipes are written, but it is 100% worth it and the learning curve is minimal. Cheers, Sorted!.Version: 2.11.1

Great easy recipes in an easy appI’ve been watching these guys on YouTube for a while, and now my other half who normally cooks is out doing other things, it’s been up to me to cook a lot of the time so I took a shot at this. I’ll be keeping my subscription that’s for sure! Every week a new set of menus come out - usually 2 meat/fish and 2 veggie. As a veggie, this is great, and the recipes I think even meat eaters might want to try! Much like Audible, you get a credit every week you exchange for a “pack” that you keep and can use any time. The packs contain lists of all the ingredients you need to pick up at the shop which has brought our shopping list down (tip for Kiwis though, half the number of spring onions asked for as NZ spring onions are huge compared to UK ones). The menus are pretty seasonal which is great, there’s been two instances where I can’t buy an ingredient here in NZ (chestnuts and harissa paste) but in those circumstances chose another pack or substituted for something else. The instructions are all narrated, and timers are set and ready for you to hit Start, and once done will tell you what to do next. With the way the recipes are laid out, you’re not panicking to get on to the next step. In fact, sometimes they get you to clean up along the way! There have been a couple of hiccups though - one time it told me to “clean the large pan from earlier” despite me not even touching a pan, and another time the timer gave an instruction for another recipe. Not the end of the world though. A couple of suggestions though, it’d be great if I can provide feedback on individual recipes (to point out the occasional error), and there’s the “bonus” packs that appear monthly, but if I exchange a credit on one of those packs I miss out on the weekly one so I’m not inclined to get them. Great app, great recipes!.Version: 1.9.0

Amazing food! For the first time, I have been scratch cooking for every meal. It’s so easy to use, with amazing tips and tricks that make cooking enjoyable and with consistently great results every time. I can’t recommend enough, especially if you struggle with ideas, there is so much variety that you’ll never get bored. I feel like I’m cooking food I never would have considered before downloading this app, thank you Sorted!.Version: 2.9.0

Great food with fewer decisionsI’ve been using this app since the start of the year and my wife and I enjoy a good 90% of the recipes we’ve tried. It has been a huge time saver to make one decision on Friday and then get a clear shopping list and know exactly what we’ll have for dinner. This not only helped get us out of a food rut, but it makes shopping much less wasteful. I don’t throw out uneaten veggies anymore because I have a plan for all the fresh food! If you are American and thinking of trying the app, make sure you get a digital scale that reads in grams and be willing to substitute some ingredients that aren’t always easy to find in US grocery stores. I would love to see the app continue to develop and add an option to star our favorite recipes and/or to create custom packs of favorite meals..Version: 1.7.0

Better than hello freshI adore this app. It’s changed my eating so drastically. My partner and I used a lot of meal kits because planning out balanced dinners was time consuming - but those are expensive and feel like fake cooking. This seriously changed our lives. My only suggestion to those in the US: get a cooking scale and be prepared to translate from metric. It’s worth it tho!.Version: 2.11.1

Brilliant alternative to meal boxesAfter having a baby we used food boxes for 6 months to make meal planning easier and take the hassle out of shopping. I cancelled the food boxes and got ‘Sidekick’ instead, and it’s the perfect alternative! Loads of tasty recipes to choose from, with the option to put all the ingredients into a shopping list for you - fantastic! We’ve cooked about 15 recipes now and not had a bad one yet! I also love the ‘Twists’ section which tells you how other users have modified the recipe snd how that worked out for them - great to know other options work! Makes everything even more flexible. The only reason it drops a star is that the app isn’t the easiest to navigate. I get the idea of the meal ‘packs’ but would also love just an inventory of all the recipes that I can scroll through. Also, I’ve tried to use the search ingredient function a few times and most of the time no matches come up or a vegan recipe came up amongst others when I searched ‘chicken’..Version: 2.19.2

Great app!Edit: Thank you developers for your response and the changes you made to the app were great. I have more ideas! Sometimes there’s just one recipe in a pack I don’t fancy; could an option to remove or add a recipe to the pack shopping list be added? Or a way to Choose our favorite recipes and have one shopping list? I’m new to the club and am enjoying the recipes. I made the bell pepper pesto recently and it’s going to become a staple! It is so good! If you’re from the USA like me, get a digital food scale if you don’t have one! They provide some imperial system conversions, but they do not provide measurements in cups. I’ve also noticed a few times that the converted measurements are provided in the initial list of ingredients but not in the actual recipe guide. I think it’d be helpful if there was a drop down recipe list that could be easily accessed without leaving the narration..Version: 1.0.0

Best recipe app I have EVER tried!I am absolutely obsessed with this app! Been using it for a couple of months now and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve found a recipe that myself or my partner didn’t LOVE. The recipes are fantastic - most of them are super easy and all of them are delicious! I love the fact the app tells you if there’s going to be any food waste and the recipe packs keep this to a minimum which is fabulous. The recipes use ingredients that are easily accessible at most supermarkets in the UK which is great. Only very small thing I would say that would be helpful is when you’re completing a recipe, it would be good to be able to quickly click out of it to be able to see the full list of ingredients rather than clicking on the ‘X’ on the screen and then being asked ‘have you completed this recipe?’ - it would just save a bit of time when trying to quickly view the full ingredient list and the picture. Just a thought - not the end of the world though! Thank you for creating such a fantastic app guys 🤩 You’ve really helped me up my dinner game !!.Version: 2.22.0

Tasty, easy, impressive!I have been a fan of Sorted’s Youtube channel for years. I finally decided to take out the subscription. Be warned, it is expensive for those in countries with unfavourable to the British Pound. However, that said, I am thrilled with the quality and ease of the app. Virtually every meal comes out tasting and smelling delicious! I have received compliments on my cooking. One friend said it was restaurant quality! I love that it gives you a no-waste shopping list. Definitely improved my direct-to-garbage ratio. I will 100% renew. I also had a chance to take part in a user experience research session they did, so they care about their customers. TL;DR - while I may be a fan girl, Sidekick has legitimately levelled up my cooking..Version: 2.1.0

Brilliantly helpful team!I have been loving this app for the past few months! It has really made me eat out of my comfort zone and try new things. I had an issue with the app not loading one night, sent a tweet to Sorted and Hayley emailed me a PDF copy of the recipe in the meantime so I could get on with my tea. Outstanding customer service ❤️❤️.Version: 1.9.8

Absolutely incredibleI have been a big fan of sorted food for the longest time, watching them has helped me though some tough times, during depression their videos helped me laugh and their meal packs help remind me to eat proper food. So thank you! And I’m looking forward to cooking dinner for my family soon!.Version: 2.7.2

Better than meal kits or deliveryWe love Sorted Sidekick! This app makes it simple to plan meals once a week, get a grocery list, and have everything on hand for easy, delicious home cooked meals on busy weeknights. When there is a recipe we all love, we often add its ingredients to our pantry staples for a fast weekend lunch or dinner when plans change. The recipes for 2 are very generous, easily feeding 3 if you don’t have the appetite of a 20-something athlete. Tons of options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs, making it easy to plan a meal for friends who have restricted foods. Cannot say enough good things about this app, or how it has improved my stress level and my wallet..Version: 2.22.2

Loving it but missing some functionsWe are loving the app so far, specially due to the packages that help us reduce food waste, as well as because it’s helping us use different ingredients. Nevertheless, we are missing being able to schedule more than one recipe per day (ea: for lunch and dinner). We would also love a feature that would roughly give you the nutritional information of each recipe. Otherwise great app!.Version: 2.22.1

Turns normals into chefsI have been debating joining the sorted club for years now and finally did it on their one month free subscription… and I will now be renewing this every month! I truly can’t believe how delicious and simple the recipes are… especially for a normal like me..Version: 2.12.1

Saves on your grocery billAmazing app that delivers. I use to be a subscriber to Hello Fresh and other meal subscription services, but if you can believe it this is so much cheaper and I usually have extras for the work week. Totally recommend and I have actually started eating more vegetarian food because of this app!.Version: 1.9.8

ReviewThe only thing I have seen that is an issue is if you have more then two people to feed. I would give it 5 stars but I know it’s a small detail but an option to double the feeding size I have 5 people to feed so I have to convert everything higher due to that. But other then that small thing I’m very pleased with it..Version: 2.22.2

Solid little appSorted is a great solution to food waste, and meal planning. Its simple and tasty. The app has improved, my only complaint is for a user whos used to traditional recipe layouts it can be a little backwards (counter to traditional recipe layout) but i understand why (they want to guide users). It would be nice to have the full recipe a default layout option and have it structured a little more traditionally..Version: 2.2.0

Budget friendly and so easy to useAbsolutely love this App! We have improved on reducing our food wastage, increased our meal variety and are saving so much money each week by just buying what we need. Have loved 99% of the meals we’ve chosen and really enjoy how much choice there is. Easy to use, great instructions and a great price..Version: 2.16.0

Fantastic!!!I recommend to anyone looking to expend their cooking repertoire and explore new meals and ingredients in a fun, cost effective and easy way!.Version: 2.0.1

Sorted is great! My family are big sortedfood fans, we love the videos and have two of the cookbooks with a third being ordered soon. There are loads of recipes and a lot of variety! So much I’d like to try, but the others in my house are a bit picky. Would love to see some recipes geared toward pleasing pickier eaters without sacrificing flavours for less pickier eaters. Keep up the great work, guys!.Version: 1.9.0

A must have!I love cooking, but I work full time and I am a full time student as well. I just can’t be bothered most nights to figure out what I’m going to eat or prep for the week. This takes ALL the guesswork out of it. The recipes say they’re for two people, but I can easily eat them for 3 maybe 4 meals. They’re flavorful, easy, and quick. Plus, getting Ben to tell me what to do when I cook is just a dream 😂.Version: 1.5.3

Incredible AppLove this app. It provides me with a shopping list, removes the brain fatigue of what to cook tonight… they’re speedy meals, recipes have audio guides and timers….. what more could you want for only £4.99 a month? You also don’t get all that excess and wasteful packaging from Hello Fresh and others. You can also decide where you want to shop! Your local farm shop or Asda - you decide 👊.Version: 2.12.2

Great cooking tutorials and far less waste!I’ve always had trouble cooking from recipes - largely because I’d never bother to make sure I had everything required…and when I did, I’d end up wasting a good portion of it (or not getting around to cooking until it was too late for the ingredients). Sidekick makes it easy to shop for multiple meals, easy to make meals midweek with good instructions, and delish food I never thought I’d be able to make at home. Total game changer!.Version: 2.3.0

Life saverIt’s my best purchase ever since I gave birth. It has been really hard planning what to cook while taking care of my baby. With the app I just follow it with ease and good news we don’t have too much food waste compared before. Looking forward for more recipes and mid week hacks..Version: 2.22.1

Tasty food, but missing nutritional infoThe only thing keeping this from being 5-star for me is having any kind of nutritional info for the meals. Portion sizes feel a bit large and they add way more fat than I think you need to make a healthy dish while cooking..Version: 2.19.4

Really impressedI’ve only used the app for two weeks (so still within the free trial) but had pretty much decided by the second meal that I’m keen to actually pay to keep it. The big positives for me have been; tasty meals, quick and easy to follow recipes and the fact that none of the fresh stuff I’ve bought has been wasted..Version: 2.13.2

Great dinner optionsDeciding on a weekly grocery shopping list was always a struggle for my husband and Either we never knew what we wanted to make or were making the same 5 meals week in and week out. Sidekick makes the meal planning so much easier. A variety of options for a weekly menu right at your fingertips. And they’re geared for the busy lifestyle, get a meal on the table in under 30 minutes. It’ll even point out times when you can work on washing up to make clean up a breeze. We love the many one pot cooks..Version: 2.22.2

Saved our mid week meals! If you’ve ever been tempted by one of the many meal kit deliveries, try this first! You will not regret it. This app has saved our mid week cooking! We were terrible at meal planning and then the busy week would have us reaching for a frozen pizza or box mac n cheese way more often than we would like. With Sidekick, we now plan one or two meal packs for the week and get everything we need on Saturday. The app even allows you to add groceries to the pre prepared list making it super easy to do our weekly shop. We have loved cooking something new each week and have never been disappointed in a recipe. Being in the US we have had to find a few work around ingredients such as bacon = pancetta or sour cream = crème fraîche and they are not perfect but work pretty well. Truly a fantastic app to help you cook and eat better!.Version: 2.20.0

Overall a great concept that could be elevated with a few improvementsLove the idea. Like hello fresh but with more choice, and you can choose where your food comes from. A few things i would love to be added are calorie counts for recipes, and also to make your own meal pack for a week by combining recipes you already have from your other meal packs..Version: 2.2.0

Love itI’ve used the app for a while now and I absolutely swear by it. It’s helped us to more than half our weekly food shop and means that each week we are trying new and exciting recipes which never cease to impress. I particularly love all the hacks and tricks which takes everything to the next level.Version: 2.15.4

Really enjoying this appI am really enjoying this app. I am trying and buying new things which is exciting. The recipes are broken down to nice bite sized chunks so it makes it easier. I wish there was a way to comment on the recipe to make suggestions and or possible fixes so dodos like me won’t mess up and burn the leaks. But other than that I think I’m going to continue to use the app as long as I can..Version: 2.12.2

I love this app!!I love this app!! I have learned so much about cooking and I am trying my foods I never would have gone near before. The instructions are so easy to follow and I love the built in timers. I do wish they had a setting for single person meals. But I can split the recipes in half when I need to. My only real complaint is that the types of chili needed are not always specified. But I 10/10 recommend this app. I’ve told all my friends and family about it..Version: 2.23.1

Love the latest home screen update!!!I love this app so much!! i’ve probably been using it for over a year now and it truly has changed my relationship to cooking! i get so overwhelmed with meal planning and grocery shopping and this app makes it so easy, and i have cooked so many amazing meals with it. i am vegetarian and love how the new update makes it so easy to see so many new and interesting vegetarian/vegan packs! i used to have to flick through meat options to find the veggie options, and it’s so exciting to see recommendations based on my preferences! also, i see a lot of people from America criticising the app for not working well for American audiences. i used the app for at least 6 months while living in Australia and have now been using the app for around 6 months since moving to the US (Tennessee). Sometimes there are certain ingredients I could find in Aus that I struggle to find here, but it’s truly not that many at all. I can usually find pretty much all of the ingredients I need at my local, reasonably cheap grocery store. my experience with the app is just as good here as back in Aus!.Version: 2.23.0

25 year olds that don’t know how to cook that wellLook my fiancée and I are 25 and we aren’t very skilled in the kitchen with dishes. I HONESTLY can say that I really love this app. We haven’t used it for long but the dishes are really good and it’s really easy. I have adhd and the way they break the recipes down so it’s manageable is great! I don’t know if I explain more about how I love it..Version: 1.13.1

Amazing for Vegetarians!I was wondering how many veggie options there would be when I first signed up - there are just as many veggie options as there are meat/fish! That was great to see, because I’m used to veggie options being limited. As someone that lives alone, the option to scale recipes for 2/4 people has been amazing (and I’ve seen a couple 1 person recipes). A few of the recipes have been so delicious I went out and bought the ingredients again to remake that same week. I feel much more confident cooking and being able to prepare a full meal. This has made cooking fun! Thank you Sorted food :).Version: 1.9.0

Great App and Idea but the new design is worseSorted Meal Packs/Sidekick is the best take on a meal kits offer I’ve seen. Limiting choice is so smart, saves agnonising and indecision. However I really think the new design is worse than the old one. It’s less colourful, less clear where the buttons are and the new handwriting font looks ugly..Version: 2.0.1

I keep coming backSo I was an early subscriber but then I left because of the bugs but got the yearly subscription this last time because they’ve really upped their game. Love the choices and variety that let me try cooking new dishes all the time..Version: 2.23.0

Excellent Meal PlanningWe love it! My partner and I use it every week. It’s been super easy for us to plan a weekly shop and try new dishes. We love that you get a specific shopping list and get to choose your own produce. The recipes are easy to follow - good instructions and timers while you cook. It’s helped us with lowering our food waste and helped us expand the different types of food we eat. Plus it’s cool to have the guys read the recipes to you!.Version: 2.15.4

Great but wish there were subscription levelsI think this is a great app for getting people more interested in cooking but I really only use it for the recipes rather than the meal/shopping planning or the step by step recipe guides (which again would be great for those less confident). If you use the whole functionality the price is good but it’s a little steep for what I use it for. Would love if there was a cheaper level of subscription that only has search and written recipe access..Version: 2.16.3

Good app for anyone to useI’ve subscribed twice now and love all the knowledge and skills I’ve gained over the years. The food is so tasty and usually quick to make. Easy to prepare but sometimes a challenge which I enjoy. Overall fab. Only thing is the app is quite slow since being updated which can be frustrating, and the recipes can be same-y. Still love it though!.Version: 2.1.0

Great app!I love this app! It really takes the stress out of having to plan out my meals. And every meal is so delicious! My one request would be if we could check off a pack once we have used it. I have so many now I forget sometimes which ones I have done and haven’t done, I want to try them all once before repeating!.Version: 1.11.3

AmazingExactly what I needed to get my good budget down and eat healthy delicious meals, great selection of vege options!.Version: 2.12.0

So much better than meal subscriptionsAMAZING. Such a good idea. And so much better than other meal plan subscriptions because you don’t have all the waste and packaging, and you don’t have to get more ingredients if you already have them. You can even swap out brands, ingredients, etc. Love it and highly recommend their YouTube channel too..Version: 2.14.0

Text sizePlease make the text size scalable!!!.Version: 2.20.0

Nice variety! This is a nice, fool-proof way to help make midweek meals, with less food waste! The instructions are well laid-out, the recipes are tasty, and there is a great variety of recipes for non-meat eaters! As a bonus, you can save your favourites to make them again!.Version: 0.3.0

Great app!Hey guys. Love the app. Follow you guys on YouTube and love the content. Just got the app and been picking my recipes for the week. You guys don’t have an option to say “I don’t need a recipe that day” so you could add a button which says “I’m SORTED tonight” just cause hey, why not, free plug for yourself haha. Keep it up and can’t wait to see how tasty these recipes are Cheers, Tim from New Zealand.Version: 2.7.1

Incredible app!!Amazing recipes! easy but challenging at the same time! i’m actually cooking and i feel like i’m learning a lot of amazing new skills, trying good i never would have thought I could make otherwise. i finally look forward to my grocery shop and cooking and it’s so satisfying to use all the ingredients i buy!!.Version: 2.13.2

Very practicalSuch a fantastic meal planning app. It helps you reduce your fresh food waste, has a wide variety of cuisine types, and is very user friendly with multiple options (written recipes, step by step audio cook along, instructional photos). A lot of recipes are perfect for quick midweek cooking. Can’t recommend enough!.Version: 2.19.4

A subscription that really delivers! The app truly delivers what it says. I am so impressed! Life is busy, and what Meal Packs does is take out the need to meal plan and decide what's for dinner, helping to stop my husband and I from buying out and wasting miscellaneous food in the fridge. Not only that, the recipes are perfect for mid-week cooking, easy and delicious. It's been fun to discover different cuisines I would NEVER have before tried during the week! To anyone who's tried food subscriptions and have given up, I'll just say that I've done a subscription food box before, and to me it's greatest failing had been small portion sizes plus complex recipes compared to a higher cost. In contrast, Meal Packs gives you your list of ingredients for you to shop for what you need and can afford, in addition to a focus on recipes that would be easy after a long day of work. You are given the power of flexibility with this subscription! A couple other things for USA users: 1. Get a scale! Makes it so much easier for Meal Packs and the Cookbooks app. 2. Ingredients can sometimes be hard to find or straight-up different. I just take a best guess and so far it hasn't ruined the recipes! Don't be afraid to substitute items. A final thought, just that the only thing that would make this app even better would be to allow for custom Meal Packs. There are individual recipes that I like the most out of some packs, and I would love to pair them with other recipes I love!.Version: 1.9.8

Great Value, great meals, and you learn some skillsI’ve been using the app for over 6 ish months and still love it. I like being able to pick my meals on a weekly basis and the grocery bill has shrunk drastically. One you get your base ingredients, you may only need a few extra ingredients a week. 10/10 highly recommend!.Version: 2.1.0

Worth ItI have personally found this meal pack app life changing. I love that it provides great choices for meals each week. It also helps me with budgeting and I have less food wastage. I enjoy the the voiceover as someone with dyslexia, I find it better to listen to instructions with the pictures-thank you Team Sorted!.Version: 1.8.0

AmazingThis is a brilliant idea and a brilliant app. We’ve been using it for a few months now and absolutely love it. There’s heaps of variety, delicious recipes and the ingredients are simple and easy to find. So much better than the food delivery programmes because you don’t deal with all the unnecessary waste, you can substitute ingredients, and if you are busy one week you don’t need to buy ingredients for every meal. Thank you Sorted!.Version: 0.3.1

Giving me variety without taking up time and effortFollowed the YouTube channel for a few years before trying the app, really like that it saves me the effort of deciding my meals individually and making shopping lists. I do find it a bit glitchy sometimes if I try to change a recipe schedule or a timer, but if you use it exactly as you’re supposed to, seems fine..Version: 2.10.3

Great guys, great food, great app!I’ve subscribed to the app for quite some time now. It’s very well made, and they keep making improvements to it as people make suggestions. It really helps cut down on food waste, and hearing the guys walk you through it almost makes you feel like you’re in the kitchen with them. My wife and I look forward to seeing what comes out on the app each week..Version: 1.9.0

Trust Sorted! Don't buy into alternatives…I couldn't recommend Sorted food app enough. It sorts my meals out for the week and makes me try new dishes I wouldn't normally try. At the same time, I'm not wasting any food and makes my food shopping much cheaper because I'm not buying as much unnecessary items. Don't bother with HelloFresh, Gusto etc. This is a much more enjoyable way to cook and so easy too..Version: 2.23.0

Great for minimising waste. Potential for much moreI really enjoy putting together in my shopping list for me in the minimisation of food waste. I have some small problems with portion size (often much larger than required) which isn’t the worst problem. Also small glitches or mistakes where amount of ingredients required isn’t enough for example this week my shopping list said 500g of potatoes and I ended up needing 750g. I would love for them to add calorie and macro information in the future. Overall great app..Version: 2.10.2

So many great recipes, with more added all the time!I’ve been using the app for a few months now, and the diversity of cuisine is awesome. I’ve made so many things I had never even tried before, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of all the meal packs. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a go! It’s free for the first month, so you literally have nothing to lose..Version: 2.16.1

Great Variety and Excellent Money SaverAs a stay at home mum on a fairly tight budget this app gives me so many great recipes that don’t break the bank on a huge grocery list. Every recipe I’ve tried has been delicious and easy..Version: 2.22.0

Search requestLove the app. I use it weekly and it saves me tonnes of money. Request: Halal search feature. I live in the Middle East so some options aren’t available or are too costly (pork/wine etc) can a search tab be added to packs that removes those packs to make it easier to search for ones I can cook? Love the channel and the app!.Version: 2.23.1

Best App EverThis app broke us out of our cooking rut, saved us money and helped cut down on our food waste. I’m excited to make midweek dinners again, and looking forward to trying something new each week. I’ve always struggled with making efficient grocery lists and this remedies that completely. I feel like I am learning so much and eating so much better- I was in a cycle of being bored with our regular recipes and then resorting to takeout too frequently. I honestly can’t rave about these packs enough..Version: 1.5.3

AmazingThis has made my life so much easier during the week. It’s so easy to use. Just choose a pack and create the shopping list. I haven’t had one bad meal from it, they’re all delicious. It also has got me cooking things I wouldn’t previously have chosen to do. My boyfriend who is a meat lover has really enjoyed the vegetarian packs which is fantastic as we’re trying to cut down on our meat consumption. Thank you so much guys!.Version: 1.0.1

Game changer, budget saver, food saviourI started by watching sorted videos to get me through my masters as a “break”, so there was no question I would try out the app. I have tried so many new flavours, shopping is no longer a chore, And I’m saving money whilst cutting food waste right back!.Version: 2.5.0

Life-changing appWe’ve been using this app for a couple of weeks now, and I can truly say it’s one of the only apps that’s exceeded my expectations! So many food or planning apps promise all sorts but there’s not much beneath the bonnet. This is different. The recipes are all delicious, easy to follow, and quick. Cooking something different yet simple to make every night has made meal prep a joy, not a chore. So we spend less on takeaways and eating out, and eat more healthily too! Plus the formula of 3 meals made with similar ingredients is a game-changer; so much less food waste and very satisfying to use everything up. Can’t recommend this app more! My only suggestion for improvement would be more flexibility - if plans change and we don’t finish a whole pack in one week, it would be great to roll over the extra recipe without the ingredients appearing in the shopping list (as we would already have them)..Version: 2.9.1

Excellent all aroundI’ve use the app for about four months and it’s been great. The recipes have turned out almost universally well and have really diversified my repertoire. The instructions are super clear and include a ton of things you don’t normally get like integrated timers for each step and notes on downtime where you can get ahead of the washing up. Overall an excellent app I’d recommend to anyone..Version: 2.22.2
