Awesome Golf Simulator for Negative User Reviews

Almost good… but some fundamental flawsThis is almost good, but it is let down by a number of flaws that ruin the experience. The worst flaw is that it does not work at all without an internet connection. This is really pathetic… it should run with or without a connection, and this is a major design limitation that needs to be fixed, even if the solution is similar to that of E6, which allows thirty goes between connections. There are also issues with the design of the courses. For a start, they’re only nine holes. Then, there is a ridiculous stepping issue between the tees, with (on the beach course, for example) par fives of less than 300 yrds from the triangle tees, making it silly to play mixed comps. (That said, these are supposed to be fun, but fun is better when the different tees offer a fairer challenge.) It makes me think that the team either need to hire some more course designers, or perhaps allow enthusiasts to design courses for them (I’d happily do that for free). Matchplay would also be improved by following the traditional honour system - last player to win a hole should have the honour on the tee - and also follow the normal convention of furthest away plays first. With the exception of the app failing completely without an Internet connection - which is a fatal design flaw - the others are relatively minor. But, with only four short courses, the danger is that this simulator will become boring very quickly. Opening up course design to the community would massively improve this. So, not awesome… just OK for now. I really hope the developers take some of this on board, because it has potential..Version: 2.5.1

Price is ridiculous. The app itself is wonderful, responsive, great information. However the price is stupid. Stupid stupid ridiculous. $200 as a sign up fee plus $10 a month for an app that requires you to use a third-party app in order for it to be affective..Version: 1.11.7

Serious gapsIt seems like this is a data rich range toy, not a serious tool for golfers. First of all you can’t even log into the app without connecting your your Garmin or Flightscope launch monitor. So if I want to look at my results after my session to see how I did I can’t. For a $349 license fee, I expect to access my data and track progress. Can’t do that here. This looks like it’s trying to basically compete with TopTracer so that you can use it at a range. So seeing your shot data there with your buds or by yourself, it’s fine – just don’t expect to take anything home with you. Visually rich and compelling but not well or fully designed..Version: 1.11.7

Mixed thoughtsI have the MLM2PRO and I love what the app has to offer but in its current state with my launch monitor I can’t play a single round without a disconnect and losing my current progress in the match. For a 200$ price tag a year for the subscription i was expecting a more less frustrating experience. I really hope there are updates coming soon to work these connection issues out. I keep my phone and launch monitor right next to each other there should be any connection issues. Seriously considering fighting for a refund but when it’s working I love it and it’s way better then the rapsodo app..Version: 2.4.0

No capability to review past range session dataI like what data the app displays and how it is organized in the range coaching session. However you cannot review the data later as none of it is saved or accessible once you finish your practice. I will not purchase without this feature..Version: 1.11.4

Zero point Zero customer serviceI’ll give the app 1 star because it’s a solid app. But they seem to have changed the purchase structure. I was led to believe if I bought one year at $199, that would include 13 months of use. Instead, it’s one month then an additional $10/month to play? Ridiculous. I contacted customer service about this and a tech issue- CRICKETS. So apparently ZERO customer service. Stay away from these developers, they don’t care..Version: 2.2.2

Good app but!!I purchased this app last month. I connect via. Garmin R10 launch monitor. Setup is easy, the distance calculation seems off by at least 20-30%. The longer the club the bigger error. It’s not really effective on understanding distance for each club. My biggest complaint is the surprise monthly subscription needed. After a month the app stops working. $199 for a month of use is criminal, just be very aware of what your buying. I’ll look for something else, lesson learnt..Version: 2.4.0

Pretty great, but room to growI like the app a lot. My biggest gripe with it though is that I can’t seem to download my shot data from the range or replay shot trajectories after I’ve hit them. Downloading data (or saving them to my online account) would be a game changer. While they do store some of your shot data in their “community” app, there isn’t any shot data by club or averages across the data that Mevo plus captures. Kinda disappointed in that. Will probably stop me from purchasing the full version..Version: 1.9.0

Cannot even set up the appApp requires you to be connected to Mevo+ at the same time you have to be connected to internet to set up your account. iPad Air nor latest generation Dell does not have capabilities to connect to 2 different WiFi networks. Before you ask cannot hardwire to network as both devices are WiFi only.Version: 1.7.1

Useless on iPad with Mevo+App requires internet connection and connection to the launch monitor at the same time. Since the iPad can only have a single WIFI connection and thats needed to connect to the Mevo+, this app is useless. Horrible design..Version: 1.11.2

Has potential.Like the fun graphics and cool games. Would be great to get kids into gold and make it fun. Only gave it 1 start as the distances I hit each club are nonsensical. It had me hitting everything from a wedge to a 3i 30-60 yards further than I can actually hit them. I did a full gapping session with all my clubs. I wish I hit my 5i 230yards but i know it’s really about 180yard. Then when I looked to see if I can get my numbers after the session it turns out you can’t go back and review old sessions or data. In summary, data is 30-50yrd off per club and you can’t review any of your data once you finish. Think I’ll stick to the Garmin app as the distances on there are more realistic to what I get on course. Hopefully they fix these issues and I’d be willing to try it again..Version: v1.12.0

Bored of the 4 half coursesIt’s awesome that this app works so well on iOS. No gaming computer needed! The interface is great and so are the graphics. It’s the best experience right now on mobile. It only has 4 half courses though, so minus 2 stars for that. I definitely won’t pay for the lifetime license, I plan to pay for a couple months until I get bored of the courses..Version: 2.4.2

No data export? How can you charge hundreds of dollars for a golf simulation app and NOT have the capability to export shot data. Both of the FREE iOS apps included either Garmin R10 offer this. The software works well, the courses are ok, games are fun for kids, but if you are serious about your game, you are better off just using the free software that comes with the Garmin..Version: 1.12.3

One word-priceWow. $200 plus a monthly subscription cost! Just wow. I did the free trial and would like to continue using but that cost is just sooo out of whack with the value..Version: 1.11.6

No offline modeI had a power outage and thought I might hit some balls… but this game requires internet? Ridiculous for an app that is supposed to be used on an iPad out and about. I played E6 instead, which has an offline mode.Version: 2.5.0

Expensive ToyThere is no way to retrieve the shot data after the simulation. For a paid app, this is a major issue. I asked the customer service and they claim the shot data can be stored and retrieved later. Followed the instruction, which requires additional app (Awesome Golf Assistant) and additonal device to scan the QR code generated by AWS. After going through a complicated process, the connection is lost immediately. The customer service stopped responding after I provided the details. Conclusion: This expensive app is useless after the simulation session. Other apps (e.g. Garmin Golf and FS Golf) have a review session in the app which allows post simulation shot data analysis. Obviously, they have no plan to include the critical feature..Version: 2.5.0

DisappointedUpdating my old review. I think I have now had the app for close to two years and the promise of logged shot data before I bought the app has still not been delivered. I feel like I was scammed. The following is my original review - I am happy with the simulation software but I am extremely disappointed with their customer service. When I bought the software many months ago I was told by their customer service that storing of previous sessions data was coming soon. If that wasn’t the case I would never have paid the high price for this software. How is one supposed to keep track of progress? It’s time for awesome golf to step up and solve this issue. I wouldn’t buy this app until this is implemented. Just my recommendation..Version: 2.4.0

PriceDecent game but still a “game”. Seriously golfers have some many more alternatives. You cannot get into the app unless u turn on your Garmin. At $50 lifetime or a $3/month charge, I would consider. At their prices, I rather go another route which can get me a lot more..Version: 2.0.0

Too buggy and Too ExpensiveNot worth 200 bucks + monthly subscription 20$ for a the software it is a NO for me….Version: 2.2.1

New courses pleaseLove the app but the same stuff gets old.Version: 2.5.1

Good app but missing metricsI prefer this app to E6 or FS Golf but I keep having to go back to FS Golf if I want certain stats like dynamic loft. I’m not sure why they pick and chose stats from the Pro package but I want to be able to see every stat I paid $900 for. Also why the heck do I have to chip from the fringe?!.Version: 1.11.2

Run don’t walk awayThe app is decent but key aspects are frustrating. First you must have internet access for the app to work. This presented a problem using it with my Garmin R10, iPad and a BenQ projector wirelessly. The iPad does not have cellular so no WiFi assist and it’s WiFi is tied to the projector so no internet access. I had to hard wire the iPad to the projector which I was trying to avoid but that got it all working. You can’t do anything in the app unless it’s connected to a launch monitor and the subscription portion is horrible. I paid $299 for their lifetime access and the app has locked me out saying my trial has ended and there’s nothing in the app that enables subscription help. The support page on their website takes you nowhere with no information and the developer doesn’t respond to emails. I use a lot of apps for sports, fitness and health and this is by far the worst and most frustrating. It’s really unfortunate because the app, for its intended purpose is decent but probably not worth $300..Version: 2.5.1

So much potential, so few courses.Awesome Golf could be fantastic, but only four 9-hole courses is really a shame..Version: 2.5.1

DON’T BUYI purchased a full subscription four months ago and just lately had to do a mandatory update. So now they are screwing me out of my lifetime subscription and trying to make me pay monthly. DON’T BUY INTO THEIR SCEEM.Version: v1.12.0

Ok for its priceMuch better and more accurate than Garmin golf app. With new update, now I can see my stats per session. I just wish I could delete or undo a shot. Since I use mainly on driving range, it sometimes record random balls from next to myself which has some impact on my stats. They also need to add more virtual golf course. 4 is just not enough….Version: 2.1.1

Not Awesome Customer ServiceI purchased a lifetime subscription with the intent of using the app with my r10 and recently purchased MLM2pro, since the app supports both devices. Awesome, right? But what they don’t tell you is that you can only use one device because of “licensing”, and if you want to use both devices, you have to purchase a second license. Considering the cost of a lifetime subscription, this is cost prohibitive and an extremely consumer unfriendly business practice. What does it matter how many devices I want to use with the app, as long as I am only using one device at a time? Imagine Netflix charging you per device used, and you’ll understand the ridiculousness. Of course, it also took 3 weeks to get this information since customer service is virtually nonexistent. Avoid this app like the plague..Version: 2.2.2

Want to love it, won’t stay connected to MLM2 ProThe app seems great, when it works. It disconnects from my MLM2 pro every hole or two, which makes for an unplayable experience. The MLM2 pro works with other apps fine so it appears to be an issue with the awesome golf integration, seeing posts from lots of other folks with this same issue..Version: 2.2.2

Far too expensiveThis is a decent golf assist, however $500+ for the program is far too expensive for a tech based program that could be easily superseded in the near future…. Basically a rip off….Version: 2.2.2
