Apple Sports for Negative User Reviews

IncompleteGreat design overall, but needs plenty of improvements. Live activities must be added, and many animations are 60HZ when they should be 120. They need more leagues, and most importantly the box scores are incomplete. I understand not wanting to show blocks and steals for an entire roster, but we should be able to click on a player and see their full stats with some advanced metrics as well. Fun to use, but no reason to use over Real, the NBA App, or Sports Alerts yet..Version: 1.0

Stick With ESPN…For NowI can’t say that this app is ready for launch. First off, you shouldn’t HAVE to pick leagues or teams. Just display the most popular games for the day. If you want to pick leagues/teams, then show those. The fact that you have to pick specific college conferences is not a good route to go either. Give us the AP25 or the whole NCAA. Lastly, I know it’s out of season, but why in the world is there no American football on there? NFL and College is non existent. That should be a priority from here! I would take this off and do a complete redesign. This is not ready at all..Version: 1.0

Good start but lacking a lot of things.I downloaded this today to check it out. It already had a number of teams I follow in it. It grabs that information from News and other Apple apps which I appreciated. But it lacks a lot of things like motor sports like F1, NASCAR, and IMSA. There’s no NFL but there are a number of major European soccer leagues. I have a couple of apps now that cover many more sports. This is going to have to mature a lot to get my attention..Version: 1.0

Has potentialThis app has only just been released and I think it is clean and tidy like Apple apps are but we need more leagues I.e champions League nfl more competitions request notifications for teams or leagues I look forward to seeing the improvements.Version: 1.0

Almost there…updates coming?Great that helps track the games. No NFL under leagues More stats. Please Will change review if futures updates help..Version: 1.0

No nflThey say all sports but no nfl, no ufc and no wrestling.Version: 1.0

Not a sports app replacementApp is desperately missing notifications, live activities, and goal/scoring summaries. I’ll stick with Sports Alerts for now..Version: 1.0

Typical AppleAs usual a lovely item is produced by Apple and it’s not quite got the full functionality you expect.. this app is fine if you follow top elite sport only.. if you follow a team from a second or 3rd tier in a sport.. you’ll be out off luck with this app. Stick to Flashscore.Version: 1.0

Good Start; needs tweaks/other featuresLooks great. Missing key data and desired features. For instance in any NHL game there is no easy way to see who scored a goal, the time of the goal, the assist or any penalties. The app should also show when a team is on a power play. A countdown to the next period would be a good addition as well. The standings do not show wild card standings and who is in /out of the playoffs. There should be a way to select a league to see standings, upcoming games and stats. There should also be a way to see stats for favorite teams and the upcoming schedule. I get not having news/articles but these are all things you would want to see at a glance. Also having the ability to turn on a life activity in the app would be great. NHL is currently missing live activity capability..Version: 1.0

PLEASE ADD F1 & UFCGreat interface. Need notifications, live activity, widgets, and more leagues (especially UFC & F1) this is a must, otherwise I don’t see a reason to switch from theScore.Version: 1.0

Limited sports. The same as many other sports apps.Mid review as the app seams great at what it does, but is just missing a bunch of sports. Would be great to see some rugby league and union on there. Premiership rugby, top 14, URC etc. There’s so many apps out there already that give you basketball, top league soccer and nfl but all the other sports seems forgotten.Version: 1.0

AwfulHow can this be advertised as a sports app? It has limited interest sports I.e. any USA sport that has little pulling power outside the USA. It does have a couple of the big football ball leagues but only the top divisions not the guts of the worldwide game. There’s no rugby or cricket that dwarf the sports listed apart from football in popularity. Then you get to the information you are looking for ie last nights Liverpool vs Luton game the info is nice looking but muddled compared to normal information presentation like gk then defender’s midfields then strikers To me it needs a lot of work to be useful or just keep it to the USA It just makes little sense and I’m sorry to be so negative.Version: 1.0

Where are the widgets for this app?!? Make it happen!Where are the widgets for this app?!? Make it happen.m!.Version: 1.0

Please consider adding UEFA🇪🇺Champions⚽️LeagueHi Apple Sports staff👋 It would be nice to have more 🇪🇺European⚽️Leagues🏆 Such as: UEFA-Champions🏆League, UEFA-Europa🏆League, UEFA-Conference🏆League, UEFA Super🏆Cup & UEFA Nations🏆League⚽️ Maybe in the near future you guys could also add all of the Major European National Cups, such as: 🇬🇧FA CUP & EFL CUP, 🇪🇸COPA DEL REY & SUPERCOPA, 🇮🇹COPPA ITALIA, 🇫🇷COUPE DE FRANCE & COUPE LA LIGUE, 🇩🇪DFB POKAL✅ and perhaps even FIFA WORLD🌎CUP since the next one is going to be played in the US 🇺🇸 as well💡Bonus: FIFA CLUB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP🔥✌️😎 Now, about the iOS app:📍FIX Soccer Match Lineup, it needs the Soccer Field Graphic with the players on their positions.📍ADD Players Profiles(with Players photo).📍ADD Teams Profiles.📍ADD Leagues Profiles.📍FIX the -Standing- section(Its too JAMED), take out the Clubs name and leave just the Clubs Badges icons✅ 📍ADD UFC.📍ADD F1. Please consider adding Main WIDGETS and Todays view Widgets, like the app SOFASCORE🔍📝🍎have😉.Version: 1.0

Terribly lacking in instruction on its use.I get that the app is limited in its content at the moment but there is zero information on how to use it and what it’s displaying. It seems to be a stab and guess app and just ignore the displayed information you don’t understand. I suspect this is because it’s a very US centric app and the information might mean something to those in the US?.Version: 1.0

Great app, but underwhelming for appleI love how minimal this app feels, however for apple it feels super underwhelming. This really come from the lack of a live activities feature. There are several other sports apps that have the ability to keep your favorite teams score on the Dynamic Island or pinned to the Home Screen, so why is it absent here? This would be passable for a smaller dev but apple makes the kit for developers to integrate these features so how are they missing a core feature like that. I have no doubt they’ll add it later but until then I don’t know how much I will really be using this app..Version: 1.0

Apple Flair, lacking featuresAs a typical Cishet white man I love sports. I keep track of my chosen teams religiously, and I will defend them to the death. Naturally, when I saw this app on my page I immediately downloaded it. The premise was illustrious: a single place to keep track of all my teams. I opened the app and found my favorite Hockey and Baseball teams already set. Alas, crushing disappointment ensued. The NBA, the NHL, MLS, The Premiere League, MLB. All American,* all the best leagues in their sport. Yet one of the biggest names is missing. Where, oh Apple gods on high, where is the NFL? The National Football League is the single biggest sport in America. Yet still there is no way to track or watch her games in Apple’s apps. Should the NFL be added to this app’s repertoire of leagues, then this app will be 5 stars. Until then, i must leave it with only 3..Version: 1.0

Not ready yetWhile the visuals for this sports score app are stunning, the lack of support for NFL as well as notifications for score updates mean it’s sorely lacking behind the competition. This app has just come out though so it’s good looks will buy it some time….Version: 1.0

Has potentialIt is obvious this is not a finished product quite yet. There are minimal features compared to competitors, and even those features are limited. For example, you cannot select NCAAB or NCAAWB as a league to follow. You can only select a specific conference. There is also no way to get more details about a team other than their schedule. This means we cannot view team rosters. The design is very “Apple” which is great. But it also feels like this was released too soon. I’ll eagerly be awaiting updates to it as I am sure once Apple invests more into it, it could easily blow past the competition..Version: 1.0

Not thereI know this is the early stage of this app, but come on. With soo many competitors apps, all you give us is scores, and analytics. Love me numbers, but needs more substance. Additional info on teams news, players, league hot topics, etc. love the detailed approach to keep up to date on the score in a live format, but I expected more from the Apple app design team..Version: 1.0

Betting oddsI immediately deleted this app when the first item on display were the betting odds. I expect more from Apple..Version: 1.0

Where are the competitions other than leagues? If you’re a football fan this is almost useless. I support a Premier League team who play in a cup final this weekend, in a packed stadium of over 90,000. Yet if I check our fixtures in this app, we’re not playing at all. Ridiculous..Version: 1.0

Promising but needs workThe UI is this app’s saving grace, and with the right improvements it could maybe be a go-to scores app in the future given it’s part of Apple’s ecosystem. But there’s no semblance of organization to the home page, it’s just a mix of all the different leagues you follow jumbled together. The biggest flaw is it doesn’t list the channels anywhere… probably a top 3 most crucial feature to any sports app is telling you where to watch the game, so the lack of this makes it unusable in its current state. Also, where is the NFL??? The largest sports league in Apple’s home country doesn’t even have its existence acknowledged. Granted the season just ended, but it doesn’t entice most average Americans who love football most to keep the app. A smaller personal annoyance is they use the outdated Twins logo from two years ago.. How does Apple not have access to the latest official branding of MLB? Just add a few important things, allow people to sort by league and scroll all on one screen and it could be a nice app eventually. Hope to come back when that happens..Version: 1.0

ZHi.Version: 1.0

Good start, very limited optionsEnglish football fans should have the option to save European competitions. My saved club had a match yesterday but I wasn’t able to see it due to UEFA competition wasn’t present.Version: 1.0

BasicVery basic app for looking at English football(soccer) teams doesn’t seem to be a league table option maybe I change my review if and when they update it.Version: 1.0

Great idea! Weak startWas so excited to see this app. I am always very frustrated with the other sports apps. However, this app is ridiculously limited. The most glaring omission is that no TV information is provided for games. That is the biggest thing I need from a Sports app, what time is the game and how can I watch it. The display of conference standings is great but I do not understand why you can’t click other teams in the standings to get more information. Also, statistics from an individual game are shown clearly and well but there is no way to look at season averages or totals. For anyone that is even casually interested in sports this app will not provide a fraction of what they’re looking for..Version: 1.0

Definitely a startSo far once you’re in the app, it looks neat. It definitely looks put together but it’s very mediocre for a sports app. The manage tab with the teams at the corner it feels a bit hidden and the app doesn’t even support NFL teams. Now this app is very simple and easy on the eyes but has way too many extra steps just to be set up but, if this app continues to improve I definitely see this being the mainstream app for sports..Version: 1.0

Potential is there! But still needs a lot of work.I think well the idea is there and the design is nice, it’s still missing a lot of vital features that make an app like a score tracker important. Things like player ratings, being able to view a teams past games and such, look at individual players etc. It’s also missing quite a few leagues including many women’s soccer leagues. Although I do think the app has a lot of potential, without added features I don’t think it stands a chance against any score tracking app (especially any current football/soccer tracking app)..Version: 1.0

Needs league infoNeeds basic player and league info. Player profile and stats. NHL goal summary. League leaders in stats and league standing in other screen. Need the “My leagues” section organized by sport not time. Lacks basic features and icon is awful for what they want the app to be. Make a logo. Also no sports news in the sports app is interesting, why not all in one place for everything sports. Most incomplete app ever released..Version: 1.0

Bare bones for a live score app.Feels very rushed for an app, which is surprising considering it’s a first party Apple developed app. The way college sports are done especially - by only allowing you to view an individual conference and no displaying of top 25 rankings at all - is baffling and makes this useless for that. A lot of convenience factors like being able to tap on a team and view stats like rosters, schedule, etc. is also missing. Overall this needs a long way to go to reach parity with much better 3rd party apps..Version: 1.0

Needs lots of workAlthough it’s new, it’s missing a lot of features. - Line ups for football (soccer) - National teams, Champions League and many other competitions are missing in football - Football teams are shown the same as NBA or NFL, in football they don’t use W-D-L stats, only on standings table - Notification alerts - Turning of betting odds.Version: 1.0

Solid FoundationThere is a solid foundation for great sports app here but there are a lot of key features missing. Things like more detailed views of leagues and standings, more supported leagues, and domestic + European cups for football competitions. Critically, Apple will also need to implement live activities to set this app apart from the rest..Version: 1.0

Basic OfferingSimple basic offering. Limited sports tracked here in the UK. Hopefully more sports will be added shortly, like Formula 1, Moto GP, & Rugby Union. Good start but needs more sports added, plus more notifications and live activities.Version: 1.0

DisappointingWas excited to see the launch of this App but it lacks important features. As an Apple product, I was expecting as a minimum a Widget for quick visual access and a Watch feature. As such, this App doesn’t yet stack up against many other Sports Apps which offer more..Version: 1.0

Ok but odd and no NFLGreat to have a sports app that just gives you scores and game information, without larding it with ads and videos, which make most sports apps terrible. But the design of this app is odd. You have to pick your leagues rather than their being a menu and you just tap a league and see what happened that day. Then, the scores from the leagues that you have selected are jumbled together. It’s as though a software engineer who was not a sports fan designed the app: in someways clever, and aesthetically pleasing, but not all that useful to a sports fan who wants to browse and see scores organized by league. Not sure that I will use the app very much. And, of course, the big dog, the NFL, is not included for reasons we can only imagine..Version: 1.0

AwfulHow is it possible that Apple, who should know iOS best, can make such a terrible app? This app is completely pointless. It has no notifications, no league tables, it’s completely basic. It’s an insult to their users. Don’t download this, download one of the other apps that are produced by people who want to give users what they actually want, not this pathetic waste of space..Version: 1.0

Shockingly limitedIf you like football and US college basketball , this could be useful, but if you are interested in any other sport, anywhere in the world, including massive ones Indian Premier League cricket, tough. Apple sell their fabulous hardware around the world, but their software often appears … parochial..Version: 1.0

You can’t skip fav team or leagueYou can’t use it unless you pick a fav team and league. Just want to view the stats and scores without picking any teams or fav. You can do this via other apps..Version: 1.0

Very much a rough draftDoesn’t have many features yet, interface feels unpolished but I am hoping this is the worst it ever is and that they keep working on it. Would love to see not just scores and schedule but standings, news and more. Also, any sports app requires the NFL, which I will assume is coming but as of this review is not here. Also, Motorsport’s coverage, specifically NASCAR and F1 would be great for those of us that enjoy it. In the end, I would very much love a great sports app that didn’t constantly bombard me with either advertisements or an attempt to get me to use their Sportsbook or daily fantasy, so I am pretty hopeful for this..Version: 1.0

Looks nice, but NCAA basketball is very incompleteThe app looks great but severely lacking in information. I’m sure more will be added down the road leading up to iOS 18, but right now it seems more geared towards casual fans only interested in seeing what games are in progress and upcoming matchups. Missing: team schedules and season results by game. Would be made even better by: adding historical schedules for each team by year, or even an option to see a series history between the two teams. Also missing: AP top 25 rankings next to the teams in the scores view, it’s harder to tell what the high impact games are for the day unless you’re a hardcore fan who just happens to know the info off-hand. Would be made even better by: allowing us to change the visibility of these rankings in the scores view, for example, a toggle that allows us to change between the AP Top 25 to something like the NET ranking (or even Kenpom!) — too many teams just barely outside the Top 25 lose out on recognition just because they don’t place within the top 25 out of 300+ Div 1 teams..Version: 1.0

BasicIt’s a fairly good scores app but very disappointing. There’s not a wide range of sports or teams outside of America and it doesn’t support live activities. It seems to show the exact same days that’s shown in Apple News but without the news. Maybe after a few updates it will be better?.Version: 1.0

IPad & CFLThere should be an iPad version and the CFL (Canadian Football League) teams should be available!.Version: 1.0

Add NFL and NCAA Football/BasketballGreat app, tracks stats nicely but it’s missing some key leagues.Version: 1.0

Little bare, needs more competition information.Needs more competition information. I support a Premier League team and can only see their matches in that single competition, but they play in the Champions League and FA cup etc too and none of this shows..Version: 1.0

Pretty BasicI feel it’s good replacement app for those that simply want to follow live scores but it’s lack of push notification and lack of iPad support are serious downsides And as some have pointed out, it lacks tracking scores of some events that are popular in other countries but not in the US. One example is apparently Cricket tournaments. I think 3 stars is a fair rating considering how basic it is especially when it lacks push notifications on top of it.Version: 1.0

Could not be more basicMy only experience is football leagues, but currently the app does not feel finished. No options for Champions League, International games etc. Also the lineup is just a list of players rather than a formation image which other apps use and is far nicer..Version: 1.0

Just getting started and hoping for the best.First off there needs to be game categories. Like all mlb games. Then a space. Then all college basketball games. Then a space, and so on. Right now everything is lumped and clumped all together. Also Tennis would be good. ATP and WTA would be great. As of now they’re not offered. Also Formula 1 and NASCAR would be awesome. Also some articles on teams or general reporting would be good. Hopefully all these things are on the horizon. It’s a good start, but it could be a lot better..Version: 1.0

UndecidedLooks great, it’s simple and easy to use However it is very limited in the sports it has, a few more if you’re following US sort or football (soccer) but nothing for stuff like F1 etc.Version: 1.0

Disappointed in NHL score displayNo formatting for individual player goals along with assists WITH a goal time No indication whether win was in overtime.Version: 1.0

None FootballUsually when Apple release an app, or even hardware for that matter, it’s normally a good blend of great style and features that are proven to maximise the users use of the product, the Apple Sport app is neither of these things. The UI is very basic and the design uninteresting, the features are bare bones and lacking behind even the most basic of sports apps, many sports are missing entirely as are the lower leagues particularly in English football, not having any teams in the Championship or below is a massive oversight considering that’s 72 teams not covered. Not having any highlights of any game is poor, and information about teams is also missing, no widget existing is confusing. Overall a poor effort, if you are a sports fan then don’t bother, at least until the app is updated..Version: 1.0

What’s the Point of the Dynamic IslandWhy is Apple producing iPhones with the Dynamic Island if they aren’t going to use it? Update your app to have live scores in the Island - what an oversight approving the release of this app without that function..Version: 1.0

Hire me!While the app’s design looks amazing and very simple, it’s still lacking a lot. I rarely ever leave a review on apps, but I feel so passionate about football ( soccer ) and Apple. Firstly, a lot of major tournaments aren’t even added to the app, most notably the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Statistics, player profiles.. I understand that this is 1.0 version, but come on these things should have been added from the get go. The app is clearly targeting football enthusiasts, it will not succeed unless the whole philosophy changes. You guys need to hire someone who breathes football (soccer ) to assist vision and future of the application. Good luck. Looking forward to the future updates..Version: 1.0

Barely has anythingIt’s very basic no NFL.Version: 1.0

Good ideas from a smart human who you should consider hiring for his great ideasIt’s a good idea. Looks cool and all but there’s some changes that need to be made. 1. Needs more leagues; I should not have to add every single college basketball conference to see every game. I should just be able to follow the league itself. Also add college hockey, college lacrosse, the champions league, Europa league, etc. basically add every sport that exists. 2. Stats; I should be able to click on a teams logo and view their roster, player stats, team stats, standings, and other news about the team. There’s are some big changes that need to happen immediately to improve the app..Version: 1.0

Conference standings do not make senseWhen you open a matchup and look at the matchup odds and details, below you see standings. Instead of seeing the overall standings of both teams within their respective conference (both could be within conference), you see the standings of every team under the same conference type. For example, under Charlotte/Memphis matchup, you see the standings of every single western conference rather than the two teams in the matchup you are viewing. American conference has a west and east division. And instead of showing both or even the overall standings across the conference l, I am seeing the western division standings of every conference..Version: 1.0

No champions leagueHandy little app and I like the layout. However there is no champions league of even champion ship options, just premier league. Be nice if we could get these added and also the ability to see live tiles on home screen..Version: 1.0

No Scottish TeamsI’ve downloaded this app and there’s no Scottish football teams in it, just the English Premier League and a series of US sports that most non-US citizens don’t watch. There’s no rugby, no Champions’ League or other cup competitions, no non-USA sports really. Apple Siri has been showing the wrong team badge for my team Dundee FC by showing the Dundee United FC badge so my expectations were low but the app is so disappointing on so many levels..Version: 1.0

Feature lacking and inconsistentI initially gave it a 2/5 for missing alot of European Football Leagues such as the one I’d be concerned about (SPFL) but unfortunately have to drop it to a 1/5. Where are the gestures Apple!? The app is near gestureless and inconsistent with other Apple apps. It’s clear some of the design here is taking cues from VisionOS but it feels like it completely forgets how people use iOS. Not great for muscle memory when you cannot swipe to go back for example. There is no real reason to change to this Apple app from the plethora of others out there that provide a greater variety of sports/leagues while offering consistency with iOS operation/interaction..Version: 1.0

Good stat but…The app looks good. However, it’s useless to me for hockey because there is no way just the scoring. I appreciate the various tabs, but if my team is up 2-1, or whatever, I just want an easy way to see who scored and who assisted on those goals..Version: 1.0

TerribleNo Dynamic Island support for hockey. No watchOS, iPadOS, or macOS support..Version: 1.0

Missing important FeaturesNo goal recap in hockey games, missing champions league. Needs better sorting when looking at all the scores in “My Leagues”. Hockey games mixed in with soccer games, seems random. No order. Good start but needs work..Version: 1.0

Has a long way to goNo NFL no PGA. Pretty odd.Version: 1.0

Missing LeaguesU claim to have our favourite leagues but you dont even have two of the biggest leagues on the app, get a grip.Version: 1.0

No widget ???!Common @Apple no widget ??! Seriously ????.Version: 1.0

Really basic and barebones, not a patch on FlashscoreThis app has a long way to go before being a real option against the likes of the Flashscore app. Barely enough teams, barely enough sports, it’s barebones and like a beta app right now. Seriously needs a wide overhaul of functionality and features to be acceptable. Also needs to implement the swipe features as standard in iOS, I don’t know why Apple hasn’t included this in the app. Needs integration with the News app for sports news and podcasts, quality of life improvements overall. However the one advantage Apple has is the ability to add innovative features and functionality such as Live Activities to the Dynamic Island natively at source, something the competitors on the App Store cannot do. If Apple adds this essential feature which allows live scores to update instantly on the Dynamic Island, this app will instantly become a must have for sports updates..Version: 1.0

Virtually pointlessNot only missing major sports leagues, really weak content, just scores and schedule. Anyone who follows sports already has an app that is better. I’m sure it will improve, but I do t know why they released it with so little to offer..Version: 1.0

Irrelevant to people not following the moneyIf you follow the heavily commercialised leagues like USA, England, Germany then this app is for you. But if you live anywhere else and follow your own local teams then forget it…. I had been hoping for more. To be fair though, it took Google a long time to get their sports app more widely representative…. Hopefully this App will catch up the way Apple Maps is slowly but surely improving..Version: 1.0

Missing Scoring SummariesClean look, live updates are excellent, but it is missing scoring summaries (specifically in NHL games). Easy 5 star rating if scoring summaries were included..Version: 1.0

A good startThe UI is beautiful. You can select your favorite leagues and teams, and their games for today or upcoming will appear on a main dashboard conveniently for you. Stats are also shown for the game you select. For soccer specific, I like that it shows me the current team standings, the play-by-play, and lineups for a game. I’ll add more stars to my review once I see, and like, a section for stats on professional players, news specific to a league, and media. I would assume media right now would be exclusive to MLS since Apple holds the rights, but that will likely expand into other sports / leagues. Apple, you have my attention. What’s next?.Version: 1.0

Awful for the UKThis app should only be for US users. Hardly any international competitions, betting odds are a horrible format (where does this data even come from), hardly any stats and hardly any information about the actual games - I follow UK football btw Its such an empty app with hardly any features; how hard can it be to include some news stories about the teams or leagues your follow. The page is just so empty and dull. Massive disappointment. Download any other sports app, it will be better..Version: 1.0

CFL?Love the idea of this app.. but how do you not have the Canadian football league?.Version: 1.0

UnsureJust installed, the UI looks great but it only shows league games, I would have liked to have seen cup competitions like Champions league etc. it’s still new so hopefully in the future..Version: 1.0

Is this a Beta, to test the market?Really limited in its coverage. If Apple’s aim is to replace the main apps tracking sports scores, they need to include lower leagues. In terms of European Football that would mean 4 leagues in England, one or two in Scotland, two in Netherlands and Belgium, 3-4 each in Germany, Spain, Italy and France, etc, not to mention European club competitions. If you’re not covering them, everyone will have to keep the existing apps on their phone, so what’s the purpose in this stripped back Apple one? If more leagues are included, I’ll adjust this review. It could be capable of 4 stars if it had the right coverage..Version: 1.0

For now it’s eh but give it about 4 monthsAs of right now it’s super early to tell what this app will be but if they incorporate Apple TV into the app so this way you could watch your favorite team along with stats (which Apple can definitely do) then I think it’ll be a huge leap. Also there is no American football on here yet so that’s also gonna hinder some negative reviews. All in all it looks like an Apple app with some resemblance of other sports apps. It’s meh now but give it time and it’ll be better..Version: 1.0

No CFL?Launching in Canada without the CFL is kind of silly. I hope it comes with an update. NFL missing is sad, but that’s probably in negotiation..Version: 1.0

Massive potential. But this feels like an un finished app.I’m a massive fan of native apple apps(will almost exclusively use the first party apps(maps, weather, calendar etc) and I big sports fan. This app however seems unfinished. Compared to other dedicated sports apps it is really lacking in features and functionality. Would love to see more sports in here not just US sports and a couple of euro Football leagues. MLB and MLS season pass integration would be a game changer, but even simple things like player stats would massively improve this app. People will be disappointed after the first download and never use it again..Version: 1.0

Not ready for prime timeThis isn’t a bad idea, other sports apps lack the live features that iPhone supports. This seems like this is a beta product. There is no widget, which seem like a glaring omission. The way the menu works, having to select favorite leagues and favorite teams and not just seeing it all together is odd. Not filling the screen with other information leaves a lot of empty space. Limited number of leagues and sports is disappointing. Has potential to be great but needs a lot of work..Version: 1.0

LimitedIt’s quite limited at launch. I can only search Premier League football Teams and not National League. Also there is not Formula 1 teams built in. I’d like to see mor information about my favourite team, player bios, Club information, history of the club etc..Version: 1.0

Please add other sports and leaguesApp seems good but please add cricket leagues and champions league as well..Version: 1.0

Apple's Football App: First ImpressionsApple's decision to offer a dedicated app for football fans is an exciting development. The initial version of the app reflects Apple's elegant design language and is incredibly easy to use. With some potential improvements added to this solid foundation, the app can become an indispensable tool for football enthusiasts. Suggestions: Including Europe's most prestigious cups, the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, as well as rising leagues like the Turkish Super League, will provide football fans with a broader scope. Organizing player squads by position and presenting them in a stadium format will allow users to access the information they need more easily. Displaying the live status of teams currently playing in the standings will take the excitement to the next level. A rating system from a reliable platform like SofaScore and detailed statistics provided by Opta will further enrich the app. Overall Assessment: Apple's Football App has immense potential. While there are some areas that need improvement, Apple's vision and dedication in this space are commendable. This app is on the right track to becoming an excellent resource for football fans..Version: 1.0

Apple triedI always support Apple, however don’t get your hands on something you don’t know about. That tech nerd that developed this has no clue about what the sports fan is looking for. NEED TV info, need more box score stats, steals, blocks, offensive/ defensive stats etc. where’s the nfl? I know it’s over but you can’t even select your favorite team at this point. Corrections need to be made then it will be elite. Sports Alert is grade A if you’re looking!.Version: 1.0

LackingNo sure if this app was rushed or what. No PGA, no NFL, No NCAA ??? Can’t use Dynamic Island??….I get that it’s a new app but really. Missing a lot of stuff. Unfortunately way better apps out there🤷🏼‍♂️.Version: 1.0

Basic basic appThis will not replace any of your sports apps. It’s incredibly basic and only really offers scores with very basic stats. I wouldn’t waste time downloading this until it’s improved..Version: 1.0

Decent start but a long way to goThe simplicity of the UI is great and exactly what you’d expect from Apple. The lack of English leagues reported within the app is disappointing. Especially surprising is the lack of notification and live activity support for a 1st party app..Version: 1.0

A lot of missing leaguesIt’s nice to see a native app from Apple to keep track of sports scores, but the leagues they have available are very sparse and, unsurprisingly, favour the major leagues. If they added support for the EFL alongside the Premier League, I would be a lot more inclined to use it. Would also be cool if they integrated Apple News so you could read analysis before and after the matches. A good start, but still a lot to be done..Version: 1.0

Almost goodLooks good to start with but limited on what sports and teams are available. Cricket, the 2nd most popular sport in the world behind soccer isn’t even listed..Version: 1.0

So no live activity?I am not sure what the point of this app is if there is no live activity for a game. I have my favorite college team set up. I open the app and was looking to set up live activities. But apparently this doesn’t do that. if it does, I have no idea how to get it started. If all this is is a scoreboard for your favorite teams, then I can get that through theScore or Sports Alerts. And Sports Alerts will allow you to set up a live activity on your phone. So I’m hoping somebody can explain what’s going on with this..Version: 1.0

Doesn’t offer enough teams. While I respect Apple for releasing a sports tracking app the amount of teams is severely limited. Especially if you have an interest in any football team in the lower leagues. No English championship, league 1,2 or any Scottish leagues at all. Pretty disappointing. FotMob is still the best app by a mile for football..Version: 1.0

The best Apple could do …?Very disappointing, limited content with headline sports & leagues only. No enriched content - very basic features compared to the multiple alternative apps in this space. I’ve uninstalled after 2 mins. Assuming Apple will continue to add features; I may re-install in the future if I remember to try again..Version: 1.0

Missing key featuresThe app looks nice but the information isn’t laid out in a intuitive way. When you first click on a game the league standings are on the first screen of information rather than details about the game. Why isn’t a summary who scored the goals for an NHL game included in the first screen (or at all) for example. If you hide the betting odds then there isn’t any game specific information prior to the game given other than a tiny date, time and location box at the very bottom. There is also no widget or notification option making this one of the least useful sports apps available..Version: 1.0

Why no widget?Nice clean app, but I’m baffled about why it doesn’t offer a Home Screen widget. Since it’s only functionality is to monitor a game in real time (which is fine, not a complaint), surely it belongs in a widget..Version: 1.0

Why isn’t the Champions league included? Why isn’t the Champions league included? In soccer in the UK, many of the teams in the champions league and premier league interchange between the 2, it’s ridiculous to only include the premier league, as your abandoning 50% of football supporters, and therefore halving you’re audience.Version: 1.0

ShockingI am perplexed why Apple would put out this app, it’s as basic as is possible to be, offers very little information and no stats, this should be an embarrassment to Apple, not even remotely close to their usual high standards, save your bandwidth and don’t bother downloading.Version: 1.0

Nice, but needs some improvementsGreat starting point, especially with the exceedingly clean interface, but feels like some Canadian leagues and entire sports are completely overlooked (CFL, OHL, PGA, and WPHL come to mind immediately). Links to open broadcasts in appropriate app(s) would be appreciated rather than redirecting to Apple TV and THEN to the appropriate app. Option to turn on / off odds for gambling purposes would be helpful to many, whether to more simply enjoy the game or avoid temptations to gamble. Please keep adding leagues and sports to maximize enjoyment of the app..Version: 1.0

It’s alrightNice concept simple design but I wanna see all the football leagues (soccer to the Americans) because my team are in the championship so I wanna see the scores from there and I hope there is a widget on the way make life so much better from there too..Version: 1.0

No CFLApple has forgotten about us Canadians with the CFL. App icon is boring. Should be something hockey related..Version: 1.0

Okay startDisappointed that the soccer lineups are just a list. I don’t care to see the betting odds and would like to turn that off. Looking forward to rapid improvements. Lol yah right. Edit: Apple sports app doesn’t appear to have enabled Apple sports widgets?! Really?! Infinite resources and it seem you all didn’t even scan the best sports apps on the App Store and copy their best features. Edit: you can turn off the betting odds in settings, which didn’t appear immediately after installing the app. Also, where are the push notifications?!.Version: 1.0

Bit rubbish reallyOnly lists matches from yesterday or today and only lists the next match in upcoming - no facility to look at all past matches, no facility to see all upcoming matches. Tapping on a team does literally nothing - it should at least link to the league standings or something. Lastly there are no widgets or watch complications, which would have made it worth using….Version: 1.0

It’s okayNice app but missing A LOT of stuff. Limited leagues, individual player stats etc etc. Just a very basic app right now. I will revise this review as the updates come..Version: 1.0

Organization is key. This app desperately needs better organization. Separate the different sports and don’t go by time..Version: 1.0

Not good enoughThis could have been a handy app, but unfortunately it is lack luster. No options for national football teams, no options for woman’s football league. Plenty of American sports, very little for U.K. sports or any other country. Please update and add the relevant options, if not I’ll just use the same app I’ve been using for years!.Version: 1.0

Poor Attempt for an Apple AppThere are a number of sport score apps out there and this is not a very good attempt to compete with any of them, especially for an app made by Apple. First, it doesn’t include the not-so-new Dynamic Island or widget features. This seems like a major miss for live sports and seems very odd for an Apple app to not use these for an app it seems like a no brainer. Additionally, it doesn’t include some major sports and leagues, such as the Champions League, Formula 1, or tennis, which makes it nearly pointless for me. If you think this app is interesting but lacking in features or missing something you want, check out Sports Alerts..Version: 1.0

It’s a good start…For Apple to finally release a dedicated app for all that’s sports is probably the best thing coming in the future for just how much they can do with this but.. as this is the beginning I’m not expecting for them to go crazy feature packed but there a bunch of missing leagues including NFL which is surprising why? And like this is very very barebones which could be a good thing in a sense but you don’t have to give up on all the features for simplicity. P.S if your going to be growing in leagues Apple I’m letting you know now if you could build with the esports scene it would be big there’s no dedicated app for esports and if they do have an app it’s only limited to one or two esports Apple could join all esports and make a big impact in the space.Version: 1.0

Needs moreThere's a lot of missing, including but not limited to NFL NCAA But the interface is good.Version: 1.0

BasicThis app seems unfinished. It’s extremely basic and a little pointless in its current state. Being an Apple app I had high hopes and still do if they add features to this! The one strange thing is that it doesn’t support Dynamic Island with live scores! Odd!.Version: 1.0

Could be greatBrand new app that looks clean but lacks a lot of features. It has the potential to be amazing if is given enough care and attention Here is a list of things I would love to see added in the future: More sports (such as Rugby and Cricket) International teams More leagues (other than the top flight) Notifications and live activities Team and player stats/information News feed.Version: 1.0

LameThere’s so few leagues listed, and nowhere near the options of other sports apps that have been around for years, including no tennis coverage. Another limitation: it only shows Premier League matches, and not other events in which those teams play - like FA Cup, Champions League, etc.; so it’s not really following the team’s total activity, just the team within the one league. Also, since we live in one time zone but follow global sports, we want an app that can show schedules - without scores - so we can choose which to replays to stream when we have time to watch. I have yet to find an app with that feature - they only hide scores for games in progress, but not ones that are completed..Version: 1.0

Betting is a Concern for Apple’s Services FutureI really am nervous seeing Apple include betting odds into the app. I feel like it’s soft launching the prospect of gambling on Apple’s services platform to increase their Services revenue. Also, add PWHL ASAP!.Version: 1.0

Needs workNeeds more coverage on all sports ⚽️ national teams, international teams. Wake up .Version: 1.0

Very basic app, with inexcusable missing featuresI’m surprised Apple feels that this app is ready for release. It is extremely basic and lacking in simple features. I would argue it’s unusable at present. This is a few of the many problems with it: - no differentiation between sports, just a list of competition names. This makes the app hard to navigate - a very limited number of competitions available e.g it has Premier League scores but not Champions League - the only way to navigate to league standings is to click into a match. There is no other way to view a league’s standings. - No sideways swiping between days - No widget support, no Apple Watch support, no live activity support - betting odds included. Yes, these can be turned off in the settings app, but it feels odd for a company like Apple to include them as default..Version: 1.0

IncompleteGreat simplicity and clarity. Alas also seems like an app knocked up over a weekend as proof of concept. It’s missing so many aspects of Apple apps and integrations and sooooooo many leagues & teams that people follow outside of the USA, such as the championship and league one in the UK Hopefully it will get developed in time..Version: 1.0

Just not there yetThis has potential but not having all major leagues yet, the option to allow for notifications or to be able to add as a widget. Why release an app when not ready??.Version: 1.0
