✓ I really did try..Honestly I tried to play this game. I love the original litg so I thought I should stop being biased and try the matchmaker game.. could not do it. Won’t ever be able to do it. The every two second puzzles were annoying, and for some reason the speech bubbles bothered me. The only thing I liked about this game was the character creating part.. and when I uninstalled it. If they get rid of the original Love Island the Game.. you have lost a player. Sad how much money I spent on that game for it to only be wasted.. and I definitely won’t be spending money on MM. ✓ It’s ok butThe concept of this app it’s fun but the lvls for the game get quite frustrating especially when trying to achieve 3 stars one star is close then the other two are at the end and even past 50-70k points isn’t enough to unlock them. In order to choose an option that I didn’t unlock I have to spend gems which is 90% of the events especially in the love island games. I would much rather play the other app for love island and pay for the tickets and gems for the whole story play through them on here because I can actually pick what I want to say to other islanders it is super frustrating when I have some characters being sarcastic and rude to my character and I can’t make a comeback but the one star option which is usually “ let’s just go to bed “ or “ya whatever” or something similar. That to me is boring and I can’t keep my interest in this game much longer. Also conversation is really short which is frustrating I desired to remove this app. I would love if you updated the love island app an added edititing your character just like in two and three with outfits and more details. Especially like in app. The revamp on the characters look amazing reminds me a lot of 3 or focus more effort on making lobs island 4 on the original app.Version: 1.0.4
✓ BoringHonestly, I love Fusebox but this is utter crap. I read all the Love Island’s on the old app which was great but this is too far. You can barely get through a scene before you have to play a matching game. I’m not even finished my first book and I want to delete the app, I’m only pushing through to see how it ends. Poor storyline, poor choices and overall really poor game play, you don’t even win diamonds for finishing a chapter. ✓ DisappointingI would like to start by saying I NEVER write reviews, but this app finally got me. I am a huge fan of Love Island the Game, so I figured I’d try this game while waiting for season 4. I agree with a lot of other reviewers that this game has potential, but the amount of time spent playing the match levels compared to the amount of story you get is disappointing. Spending 5 mins playing a level just to get three lines of dialogue and one choice is frustrating and makes me not want to keep playing. Then, factor in that you don’t always win the level, meaning you have to dedicate even more time to three lines of dialogue. Another issue I have is the inability to pick between all three options unless you spend and absurd amount of gems or get three stars on a level. I like the idea of the game, but match levels need to be less frequent and the stories need to be more openly playable like LITG..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Poorly executedI find having to play a puzzle between each scene ridiculous especially when each scene lasts barely 30 seconds. I’ve had two scenes where someone asks to sit with MC and that was it. How is that good storytelling? I’m also finding it difficult to score more than one star on a puzzle meaning you have to pick the option that comes across, a majority of the time, as rude. This forces you to play the game in a direction you don’t want to unless you’re willing to spend 500 or 1000 diamonds (the premium in game currency) on a different option. ✓ Good graphics, disappointing gameI've played (and liked) all of the Love Island games and have never left a review, but had to after being so incredibly disappointed by this game. It's clear that most of the effort went into the graphics, which are nice, and the matching game, which is way too challenging for most people. The plot lines themselves are so messy and incomplete. I've played through Season 1 twice, once with Levi and once with Talia, but when I tried to couple up with a different person (Reese) on the third try (despite having all 3-star scenes and having good chats with him), the game *automatically* chose Levi at the next recoupling. I was so frustrated that I quit the season and restarted Season 2 to see if I could get different endings (won with Bobby and Henrik before). Even after having all 3-star scenes and good chats with Elijah in Casa Amor, his name didn't show up as an option when considering a new partner for the recoupling (even though my character told him beforehand that she would choose him). And even when you DO get the partners you want, the writing is sloppy and the interactions are pretty much copy and pasted for each partner, rather than giving them unique scenes. Combined with how much time and energy you need to play the game, it's not worth it. Don't waste your time (and especially money)..Version: 1.1.9
✓ Not worth it :(I download because I love the love island game and wanted to see the different outcomes you could get on this one. Unfortunately I gave up before I could finish a season. ✓ Too difficultI loved the original love island game and was happy to download this game. I’ve played games like toon blast, candy crush, and other like games, and the levels in this love island are pretty difficult. Not only that but you need to get 3 stars to have all the choices. It’s too difficult for only being able to play one conversation per game. Also the diamonds are super annoying. If you don’t get 3 stars it will either take 500 or 1,000 diamonds to select other choices. If you complete the daily tasks you get around 300 diamonds then have to wait another 24 hours to get more. The outfits are all expensive too, all over 1,000 diamonds and to refill lives it’s 1,200 diamonds. They made this game basically to take your money. It’s super expensive to buy diamonds and they make the gameplay so difficult you almost have to buy diamonds. It was not worth them cutting season 3 of the original love island game short to release this one. Make things more fair especially knowing younger people play it. Please make the levels easier or make make it so you play a game and get full choices on one conversation!!.Version: 0.8.0
✓ Too many puzzlesI decided to download this since i’M addicted to the Love Island Game on my phone but the 1st thing I noticed about this when I downloaded it is they make you play too many puzzles too often. I can’t even have a conversation in the story before another puzzle game pops up. It’s really annoying. If I had to play those less often I would rate this game higher. ✓ Don’t Waste Your TimeEven fans of match 3 games will find this to be an extremely tedious ordeal. First of all, they are tragically stingy with the diamonds and everything costs a fortune. The daily “rewards” are a joke. But, most importantly, the story progresses at such a snail’s pace you’ll find yourself screaming at the screen. The only positive is that the graphics of the characters are actually superior to those of the original Love Island game. But trust me, the slow progress will have you tearing your hair out. ✓ Too hardThe levels are too difficult. It’s annoying! If you don’t spend any money, you will spend DAYS on one level. If you spend a little, same thing! The levels also doesn’t make any sense. Like they seem impossible to win. And then when you work on it for DAYS, it starts to feel like it. I had more than one level reshuffle five times and still couldn’t get it done. I started it early yesterday. Still working on it. And they used the exact same story from their story game. I already did that. I was hoping for something new. However, when this game came out there were a few things that stood out to me that I wish were in the original love island game; the animated character interactions, the main character creation face, and the ability to mix different category items (necklaces, dresses, shoes, etc.). When I heard this was a matchmaking game, I was actually kind of excited— I love match making games because it really helps my anxiety. The only thing I don’t love about this game is how often the puzzles come up. Having to complete a matchmaking puzzle is fine, however, when it’s after every scene change and before every new character introduction, it makes me want to not play it as much. I like the idea of this game, but I wish it was more evened out between story mode and match making mode. 50/50, rather than 95/5. ✓ The game is genuinely unenjoyable…I’m a huge fan of the original Love Island the Game so I tried EXTREMELY hard to enjoy this new version but I have QUITE a few things in need to get off my chest. The silly “candy crush” style mini games in between were SO unenjoyable. I just want to read the story, not play mini games… if I wanted that kind of game I’d download candy crush. The mini games aren’t even well spread apart, they are after almost EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE. I really don’t like the 3D characters to be honest, they’re kinda creepy and put me off, the way they are animated is HIDEOUS. This is just a recycled version of the original Love Island the game which was AMAZING, that’s why I had such high expectations for this version. The quality of the game is awful and hard to look at. You have to spend diamonds to make a simple choice between complimenting a character or being completely rude to them. Every option is ridiculously over priced, 1,000 diamonds to tell a character their outfit is nice… I don’t think so! It’s not even like they give you a large amount of diamonds to start off with either, you get 1,000… you can only make one choice like COME ON! The game is genuinely unenjoyable. I can’t stress enough how much I hope the developers read the reviews and take into account every single one. ✓ Nothing like LITGI got this because I love LITG and I heard in S1 you can couple up with Jake earlier. I didn’t realize the puzzles got ridiculously hard and even if you beat it fast it doesn’t give you enough stars which means you can’t interact with your love interest the way you’d like to. ✓ The potential is there…As a longtime fan of Fusebox games, the potential with this app is endless. The format, graphics, animation, new dialog - it is absolutely so fun. However, the real fun of these “choices” games is the suspended animation, the way you can get lost in a storyline as if you were reading a really good graphic novel. The puzzles here are occasionally fun, but completely disrupt the dialogue, making it impossible to really enjoy the storylines available. And while this has been said before… I’m 30 years old with a masters degree and these puzzles are hard and nearly impossible to complete on the first try without power ups. While they’re fun puzzles, I do think having them once in between CHAPTERS would satisfy whatever urge Matchmaker has to be a “puzzle game” while also keeping the storylines in tact and enjoyable. Right now, this app is fun to look at. But to play? Do you want to be another mindless gem game, or would you rather make your money from your fan’s interest in your stories? Fans of Fusebox are significantly disappointed – stick to the stories and you’ll have a long, successful history with this App. And as a testimony, I didn’t even watch Love Island before I found Fusebox. ✓ Disappointing.Being a fan of both the Love Island Game as well their other previous work, The X Factor life, I have to say this new addition to Fusebox’s collection of released games is incredibly disappointing. The gameplay is uninspired and feels like an easy money grab, copying gameplay from candy crush and similar games with no interesting changes or gameplay to make this stand out from all the other candy crush clones. The fact that the stories added this game are a mixture of content we have seen before, that being season 1 and 2 of Love Island The Game, as well as a couple uninspiring stories which didn’t match up to the content I had come to expect from Fusebox Games. The most frustrating part about this game is the wasted potential. Changing gameplay and trying new ideas is perfectly reasonable, however this attempt at recapturing the magic of previous was painful, as many fans had been anticipating season 4 of Love Island the Game, especially after the lacklustre season 3. Am I crazy about the fact that after any character says TWO lines of dialogue we have to play a stupid matching game? Hell no. And if you don’t win in the matching bit you can’t progress the game. I wish it was just one match game per chapter/episode, and depending on how badly or well you score you either get that chapter’s basic story or unlock special scenes/extra options/outfits along the way (including an option to spend gems on those extra scenes/options if you didn’t score high enough the match game). ✓ WhyI am disappointed and confused on why Fusebox games would push LITG season 4 to the side and focus on match maker when it isn’t even a good game. Every time you play a level and complete the puzzle you get about 3-5 lines of dialogue and if you only get one star then you are forced to be mean and don’t have the option to replay the level for 2 or 3 stars. This game may have sounded like a good thing for business but really Fusebox. Open. Your. Eyes. This game is just not it, so many people have bought gems and tickets for season 4 and then you decide to postpone it for this. Secondary is that the puzzles just occur too frequently and disrupt the dialogue a little too much. ✓ Cash grab with bad developmentThis game is a low tier rehash of Fusebox’s Love Island: The Game. In fact, it isn’t a rehash at all; it is the same game except transformed into a Match Three type game. Match Three levels are placed between incredibly short intervals, making it impossible to progress through stories at a steady speed. If stars earned though matching levels allowed players to participate in as many following decisions, this would not be a problem (3 stars equaling 3 decisions, not 3 stars equaling 1 decision with three available choices). Players are limited in options they can respond with based on how many stars they received, every level. It doesn’t seem like there is an option to play levels outside of dialogue, slowing down the progress even more. Overall, this is a disappointing excuse for new development by the company and it is regrettable that so many writers were laid off of the LITG team for a game that has completely disappointed Fusebox’s fans..Version: 0.9.8
✓ A weird mixThe story totally takes away from the matchmaker part since you don’t even feel accomplished when you finally beat a level only to get one star and be forced to turn down the person you like super rudely or spend real money, and the matchmaker part practically ruins the story. You don’t even know what choice is coming up, and you can’t replay individual levels. Also sometimes there is so much time in between the super short story portions because you can’t beat a level that it breaks all continuity. Also a lot of the levels just aren’t very fun to play. ✓ DisappointingSo this is really a pay to win type of game. After a certain point, you HAVE to purchase the boosters in order to barely pass levels or even get 3 stars. What you score on your level determines the “speaking” options for you character. If you get a 1 star on the level, you get a 1 star option when speaking to other Islanders. ✓ Another matchmaker game?True this one has the added feature of moving a story along, but really how many more matchmaker games do we truly need? It mainly follows along with Love Island Season. 1 and 2 and quickly becomes more challenging as tome goes on. If you don’t get three stars your choice on dialog becomes limited and you have to choose between an awful choice or a semi ok one. Imagine only having the choice for the worst pick! Also it’s amazingly slow in progression. Every game gets you a sentence or two of dialog and then you have to play again. It’s also the same puzzle game for any story line so you can’t try out another one without the same issue. I know that Love Island the game, which this was based on, was so much better than this. The graphics are fun and some of the dialog has been changed a bit, but it’s not the unique love island game that we all know and love. I wish that the creators of this game would think about the appeal of the other game and put more time and effort into that. We don’t need another gem game, there are millions. In each section of an episode there is a MINIMUM of two choices that cost 10-20 gems EACH and gems cost a minimum of £10 to purchase. Complete rip off. Ontop of that they had a banner saying “new season coming soon” on their original app, so people were purchasing gems, including myself who had 800+ gems, and 70+ passes saved up which as I’m sure you can work out is A LOT of real life money, for the new season, only for them to release this joke of a game and then NOT refund anyone and NOT transfer ANY gems. ✓ Just not worth it…This game has potential I give it that, and when I played it when It first came out it was the same way. I reinstalled since season 4 of love island is pushed back so fuse box can focus on this game, so I thought I would try again and see what changed. ✓ Second time downloading this gameI was pleasantly surprise to see other games to play in this app. I finished one shorter story, then started playing Love Island season 1. I’ve played Love Island since the first season came out, and I’ve replayed it a few times. ✓ Update PleaseI love this game but I absolutely hate when I’m playing a puzzle and I lose, and the option for 5 more plays for 1,000 coins pops up immediately. There’s been multiple times when I’m in a flow of playing the puzzle and I accidentally hit that option and now all the coins I’ve been saying up for a dress/clothes is gone because it pops up right away. At least update the game so when we hit that button we have to push “ok” first or the game double checks that’s what we really want to do because it’s so frustrating when I’ve been saving for so long and lose all my hard work.
