The ZOE Health Study is an evolution of the ZOE COVID Study, which has data quoted in thousands of news stories and published in dozens of scientific papers. We’ve already proven that our approach can rapidly advance scientific understanding and public knowledge.

With our technology and dedicated Contributors, our research will look at how altering your day-to-day behaviour could impact your immune system and reduce the risk of developing major diseases from cancer to dementia. You will be directly helping us to develop an early warning system for disease detection which will help to save lives.

This app (formerly known as the ZOE COVID Study) allows you to help others but does not give health advice. If you need health advice please visit the NHS website.

DATA

The data that you give us for our research into diseases other than COVID-19 will be restricted to King’s College London and ZOE only unless you opt-in to share it more widely in the future.

Your data is protected under GDPR, and can only be used for the purpose that you consent to.

HEALTH INFORMATION

You will be asked to share some general information, such as your age, and some health information, such as whether you have certain diseases.

DAILY SYMPTOM TRACKING

We will ask you to set up your ‘Usual Self’, this is your personal health baseline and will indicate any symptoms you may frequently suffer from. By telling us how you feel each day and reporting any changes in your usual symptoms, we will be able to relay valuable data to scientists.

ADDITIONAL RESEARCH STUDIES

We’ll conduct voluntary participant studies to see how lifestyle changes might work for you as individuals. We’ll play back insights from the studies to the community that will enable you to live your healthiest life and reduce your risk of developing major diseases.

In-depth studies into issues such as menopause and cancer will uncover detailed new findings to advance our understanding of major conditions and diseases. This app is designed and built by ZOE Global Limited, a health science start-up, in partnership with doctors and scientists at King's College London.

✓ Feedback would be appreciatedI have had a sore throat, persistent cough and fatigue for over 3 weeks now. I’m taking it that I don’t have or have never had Coronavirus as I have not had a high temperature. I am asthmatic and have severe sleep apnoea amongst other things and presume that had I had or have the virus then these would have been affected. The app only asks you on a daily basis how you are feeling but there is nowhere to enter how long you have had the symptoms and based on the information they have received so far, it would be useful to have feedback as to whether or not, the app feels you should seek further medical advice or self isolate for longer than I already have based in the information I have entered. Others may have had the same or similar symptoms over a similar period and either gone on to see these symptoms disappear over (X) period or gone on to display further symptoms and eventually contracted the virus. It would be great if information and feedback could be both ways but I do applaud what they are doing..Wills62Version: 1.6

✓ JessisuNPAs a health care provider who is unable to work right now (due to a car accident and trauma to my brain) I feel like this system gives me an opportunity to help in a way that I am able. It is frustrating to have no access to my gym and be unable to sit down at the coffee shop I love. I can’t imagine how terrible everything feels to those who have symptoms, or those who are positive, or those who have lost someone. ✗ Log in issuesAfter an update it’s now wanting me to log in. I can’t recall the password for it or actually creating an account but I must have as when I try to create an account it says I already have one with that email.. There isn’t a password reset option so now I am locked out the app unable to track anything or will have to create a new account & lose the existing data. I agree with other reviewers - this needs more options for people who suspect they may have had it. I am wondering if I do actually have or do have COVID-19, but by basic NHS checks I probably don’t have it. However, from searching around the internet I have several minor symptoms that can be related to it.. that said, symptoms started about 2 weeks ago and have been up & down so even if I did have it, then I’m passed the “7 day” isolation period and in theory ok despite symptoms ongoing :/ Right now I’m so confused as advice online so so inconsistent & I just want reassurance that I’m not a danger to people as I am a key worker..BobblebeeVersion: 1.3

✗ BuggyInitially thought this was a good way to support the tracking effort and hopefully minimize people’s exposure to the virus. Downloaded the app to my iPhone and started to create an account. After putting in my email and creating a password it told me I already had an account. Hmmm. Never used this app or any of Zoe’s other apps. Requested a link to reset my password. Decided to try another email and password. Got the same message again that I already had an account under that email. Requested a reset of my password on that email as well. It’s been 7 hours and I haven’t received any email to reset the password on either email. Went online to the Zoe website and looked at their FAQs. Seems they’re having problems with creating accounts. Unless they update the app to eliminate the bugs, I’ll try elsewhere..Red mountainsVersion: 1.6
