✓ Really cool appAs a music maker who really likes getting samples and slicing it for sequencing, I really love this app. It has now given me the chance to get a sample, slice and play with it on my IPad and come up with ideas. ✓ 5 Star rating BUT….I gave this app five stars but there are two flaws that are so critical they are the reason why I am not a famous producer right now…When you’re recording audio directly through the record feature if your phone or tablet is set to sleep after some amount of time the app doesn’t stop it from sleeping and you lose your recording. this is sort of a dealbreaker and unforgivable please fix it. The next related issue is that you cannot record once you have started a project you can only record from the initialization screen. Why? Please enable recording at any point.._CerealVersion: 1.1.14

✓ GoodThe only issue I’m having with it and maybe it’s just me is the Choke feature doesn’t seem to be working, I don’t hear any difference between the mono and poly. ✓ Simple to learn, deep as the ocean.I am pretty new to Electronic music production and have found that quite a few deveopers are great at the development part but not that good at communicating the app's functions in bite-sized pieces. This is not the case here. I have just watched around 15 minutes of video and feel that I am up to speed with most of the app's functions. I have imported a few loops into the app and had a lot of fun just chopping them up and changing their parameters. What a breath of fresh air it is, to buy an app and still have my initial enthusiasm for it's functions, once I know how to use it. I have some feature requests. - please enable sync recording just as in aum so perfect loops can be recorded directly into segments and then evenly chopped. - please enable a zoom view. - extra please!!! Can you add lock (sync) time of a slice so its rhythm stays the same and the pitch can change via keyboard or slider. This was actually the primary reason i wanted segments. I want to be able to record parts and then transpose them while maintaining timing. It seems like it almost does this now but not quite. - make default volume say cc100 and be able to turn a slice up to max say cc127 with clean volume, vs dirty gain (which is a great feature btw) - in stand alone on iphone xr/11 fx mix of delay and crush are in accessible due to ios app switch bar :/ Thanks 🙏🏽.MehmuiVersion: 1.1.9

The shot slice mode in itself is worth the price of admission. ✓ Flexible SamplerIt’s great to be able to drag and drop samples from the files app directly into sEGments. Having velocity sensitivity, two time stretch algorithms, and effects with xy pads that you can automate with touch are nice features. The ability to route the audio output from different slices into other effects apps in hosts like AUM that support this functionality is really fantastic. I’ve taken advantage of the Auditor app to create slice markers which are recognized by sEGments. Being able to adjust the attack and release per slice allows you to quickly shape your sounds. I’ll be using this app a lot as it’s very versatile and easy to work with..PolarpaulVersion: 1.1

✓ After playing around with it there’s some things I’d like to seeEdit: Would really like to be able to hold a slice down and have it play continuously while playing another slice like Abu Dhabi in Korg Gadget. I’m not a huge fan of Gadget, but going back and playing with it recently made me realize how well thought out that sampler is and its superb effect options. With sEGments you’re not stuck in a walled garden though and that is huge. I think the best elements from BM3’s sampler, Abu Dhabi and Ableton’s simpler would be amazing, but also a huge undertaking that might be out of scope of this app. Still a must have app and this developer surprised me with his speed implementing stuff in his other app. 👌 _______________________________ Looks like something comparable to Ableton’s simpler dropped on iOS. This app motivated me to move my entire old vinyl and cd collection to iCloud and I’m having a blast revisiting my old music collection, slicing a track to pads and seeing what pops up as I adjust the threshold on autodetect. ✓ Still Seriously Well Worth The MoneyWow, only a few days ago I contacted the developers concerning difficulties on accessing all 32 pads (I prefer to tap a pad where a slice is required rather than double tap on the wave), and straight away this small problem has now been put right with a simple on screen slide bar. Thanks Devs for your quick response. 9 Sept 21 Just upgraded to the SUPERSONIC EDITION for the awesome ability to have 32 sliced segments, but I could still only see 16 pads. I contacted Support and incredibly just 8 minutes later the developer replied with the solution, so simple, just double tap on the wave where a slice is required, this then automatically extends the count to 32. This app features in virtually all my Cubasis3 projects flawlessly. 17 June 21 I never knew this app existed until I recently saw it being tested by Doug from the Sound Test Room on YouTube (thanks Doug), this really is a brilliant app and worth every penny. I have been painstakingly slicing and editing audio samples on Cubase (for years) and now on Cubasis3 (for months), this app makes the process so much simpler and so quick too, eg, just record your guitar strumming session (up to 16 different chords) in your intended tempo, then import that wave file into sEGments, slice each chord to precisely how you would like it, set it to “Gate” so that the chord ends the moment you want it to, or just create midi note to last the length of the full chord, and before you know it you’re ready to lay a guitar track down using midi notes, every chord will then sound perfect, just brilliant.
