Minimalist: Password Manager for Positive User Reviews

Fantastic password managerI was looking for something to replace my 1password subscription, which was A. overpricedc and B. suffering from its switch from a native app. I tried a bunch. And to cut a long story short, Minimalist is just what I wanted. Brilliant native software that works wonderfully with apple password manager API hooks. The apps just exude quality from every square pixel, and you can tell it’s made by decent developers who really care. The import process was flawless too. Brilliant..Version: 3.3

Fast support Great replacement of 1PasswordI was looking for a new replacement for 1Password as I didn't want to pay for the monthly plans. I found Minimalist and tried it out. It imported my 1Password information quickly and easily, allowed me to trial it for free. I emailed support because I had a question and it was responded very fast in a professional manner. The app is lightweight and works great with iOS and my Mac. I can't wait to see what else they come up with. I love I don't have to pay a monthly fee and everyone in my family can use it for the one time fee. You can't beat that. Thanks!.Version: 2.9.7

Leaves 1PW behindIn design and implementation. Minimalist imported not only password data but also secure docs and attachments from 1PW smoothly. It’s worked quietly and smoothly on iPhone, IPad, and M1 MacBook Air. I haven’t had a hitch with its data stored on iCloud. Standard Interface elements rather than Electron have been boon with a vital utility like this. Support is fast and friendly. Price and subscription options are perfect..Version: 3.1

Love this AppI was using another app that has been abandoned so needed to find a new one. This app is exactly what I was looking for. It's simple but provides everything I needed. It's fast and syncing is almost instantaneous with my other devices. Worth every penny!.Version: 3.3

No mystery hereClean, efficient and secure - that’s how I would describe Minimalist. I’m glad to know that MY data is stored in MY iCloud! There’s no mystery to it. Their support is great, too! I had several questions during testing. All were answered in timely manner via email. Troubleshooting was just as thorough..Version: 3.1.2

A breath of fresh airThere are whole lot of password managers out there. Most of them are chock full of pointless features and have abysmal UIs. Despite its name, Minimalist has almost all of the features an Apple user would need (still waiting on icons!), and it does so in an interface that's refreshingly human..Version: 3.4.2

Minimalist 🤔Simple, Efficient, Secure, iCloud, Minimalist !.Version: 2.9.9

I love it so FarAfter buying mSecure 5 and then they getting greedy going too Subscriptions. i went look for better password Manager and found this one. i love it so far 👍🏻.Version: 2.9.9

Worth Every PennyI was someone who seriously considered building my own password manager to avoid spending hundreds each year just to safely manage passwords. This solution was exactly what I was looking for, integrates across all my Apple devices and makes managing new and existing passwords an absolute dream. Don't think twice about buying the lifetime upgrade, its worth every cent!!.Version: 2.9.7

So long 1Password 👋🏼Simply the best alternative to 1Password!.Version: 2.9.9

Minimalist is Very Very GoodNative app. Well designed. Quick and effective. Works extremely well all round.Developer responsive and updates regularly. Doesn't have the extra beels and whistles that the big companies compete with each other for but its all the better for that. It's first class..Version: 3.4

Truly a great app with amazing support! Finally, a password manager that really works! Minimalist is designed especially for the Apple ecosystem, and shines in its elegance and simplicity. All Apple devices sync effortlessly with one another. And unlike other password managers such as Bitwarden, Minimalist works with Safari without having to install a glitchy extension. Can't overstate the extraordinary support I received from the developer, who gave me personal support over a weekend when I had some installation snafus of my own making. I have never received this level of support from any software company. I recommend Minimalist wholeheartedly! Five stars all the way!.Version: 3.1.2

NiceJust discovered this. A very nice and clean password manager, with some great features. If it gets momentum, could be a force to challenge the more established (and bloated) password managers! It's a potential 1Password replacement for me..Version: 2.9.5

Third time review and got me . . .Update 10/04/2022 ------------------- This is my third time updating of my review. Started with 3 stars and now I have no choice but to give 5 stars. Man .... cannot believe my eyes. Whenever I update my review, they updated their reply and answered all question. I have started to use Mac since 2007 and this is my first time seeing this kind of developer who really focus on their users and ease the worries. Base on my experience, if you like to use this app I truly belive you will like it very much like me. Thanks again for all answers ! ----------------------------- Original Review --------------- To be honest I really like the app but there is a huge BUT.. The first one is this is only to iOS and there is no way I can use it on Andriod or Windows. Second but is as we all know there are plenty of application on app store and around the world for mac. Only few apps are keep updating and fixing errors. So I am still not sure whether the Paid version will worth. Do not see any gruntee how long will this app will support. Hope it is not like other app which fail to continue in a short time. ------------------------------ Update review on 27March,2022 --------------------------------- I paid for the service. But today I am haivng an issue with this app. Now apple service is down which include iCloud. I just reinstalled my macOS and install reinstall Minimalist. But when I open the applicaiton, it asked me to recreate a new password wich mean new database. So becareful. Seems like my previous database will be override when you open the app as a first time when iCloud is down..Version: 3.0

Simple, intuative experienceClean UI, fast, amazing support..Version: 3.0.1

Easy; Simple; UsefulThe application lives up to its name; I have never had such an amazing experience with a password manager. The developers are always willing to answer your questions and suggestions regarding the App! :)).Version: 2.9.9

Loving it!Finding it less hassle than 1Password. It's still very much in development but the developer is extermely responsive and has accepted several of my own suggestions for improvements. I'm glad I signed up for the lifetime version because it's good and because they deserve to move ahead boldly into the future!.Version: 2.9.3

Overall Great app!Extremely easy to use, it goes with the name- no nonsense, if your looking for a password manager this is the one! Very competitve pricing tops it all off.Version: 2.7.2

Personal outreach, responsive to problems and fixed them. This has gone from an app with growing pains to a high quality app that can meet the needs of any Mac user. The developer not only reached out personally, but kept me apprised of updates, and when the update that solved my problem came out. It's working great and I am looking forward to a great future for this product. Thank you for excellent product and your personalized service..Version: 3.0.1

Back to SimplicitySo good to go back to simplicity again. What won me over? I have used another 1 for many years but that 1 has become too bloated and complex. Second minimalist also made it simple to transfer from that 1. Whereas others just don’t seem to be able to make the transfer happen I really like paying 1 price that gives me access forever instead of having to subscribe, to 1. Did I say it was simple in its elegance. If you have been using that other 1 take a look at the beautiful bones of the minimalist. I highly recommend it..Version: 3.0.2

My new favorite password managerFINALLY! I’ve had 1Password for years, and have actively been looking for a replacement product. Some have come oh-so-close but none have had what I wanted: simplicity. Well if you’re like me, look no further. This app has it! I hope, maybe, they’ll be an option to share password “vaults” with family members sometime down the road, but definitely not a deal breaker. The ease of use in the Apple ecosystem is delightful. I wish all apps worked this well. I will gladly pay $20 a year, and I hope the developers know how much appreciated their hard work is! THANK YOU!.Version: 2.9.7

Great Password ManagerI used 1Password in the past, but I only have Apple products, so I wanted something that was more integrated with iCloud sync. This password manager does just that and more. A relatively new app with continuous upgrades and features, it's great. Also love the minimalistic feel to it..Version: 2.9.9

5 stars but...I give it 5 stars because I wanna encourage the dev also very nice design! But I won't be buying the subscription until there's support for One Time Password (Authy like). Once that added as a feature I'll consider subscribing..Version: 2.7.1

App Works Great and a Bright Spot for this CategoryI’ve been a 1Password user since around 2006, I started having doubts once it went to the subscription model. Over the past 6 months I’ve been trying other Apps and not found one that I really liked. My last stab at 1Password, I joined the dark side (subscription) and found it wanting. To many issues and complications. The Safari extension was the last straw. What stopped working was 2FA prompts automatically popping up and easily applied. UserID/Passwords not being made available to be automatically selected. Even with the extension disabled. So, I started looking again and found this app. THIS IS THE ONE! I really like this app. It does what it set out to do. Now my use is back to my real purpose in using my iPhone, iPad, & Mac and not having to spend my time trying to work with an app that should be a tool to accomplish a task, not an app to devote my time too..Version: 3.0.1

Need browser extensionThe iOS app is great! Works well in all cases, but desktop app need some improvements: please add an ability to use the app with all browsers, not only Safari (for safari there is the keychain app already built in to macOS); browsers like Chrome, Opera, or Firefox need your extension! Also, would be nice to have an ability to sync no only via iCloud but Dropbox and other services. Otherwise nicely done!.Version: 3.1.2

Cool!I've used 1Password since its earliest days, long before it adopted the "annual subscription" model. But this Minimalist app seems to have pretty much every one of 1Password's major features, and is every bit as secure and user-friendly as 1Password, except that it still lacks the slick (or rather, 'professional looking') user-interface that the much more costly 1Password app has. I've chosen the lifetime subscription option rather than getting an annual subscription, because I've already tried it out for about the last month, and think I'm surely going to be wanting to exceed their 10 free edits limitation. I expect the Minimalist creator/developer to release updates, over time, that include some of the more useful suggestions submitted by other users..Version: 3.1

Excellent password managerRecently switched to Minimalist after many years of using 1Password. The application has worked very well and imported my 1Password data easily. I like the option of a one-time purchase that is as cheap as 1 year of 1Password. The app supports family sharing as well. Looking forward to using this solution for many years without needing a subscription..Version: 3.0.1

My only password manager nowGot really tired of the 1Password shenanigans and looked for a replacement. This app has exceeded all my needs and expectations. SO GLAD I made the switch! It is one of my go-to apps and I recommend it to anybody that needs a solid password manager..Version: 3.1.2

Thank you for implementing users suggestions!Hey Jeffrey, Thanks for the improvements in 2.9.5, which reflect many suggestions from your users, who are helping you refine what was a very good password manager into a great one. I count myself as a proud contributor but I am also very impressed by the additions suggested by others. It is impressive how quickly after submitting something one gets to read about it in the What's New section. At this rate there will be a new Canadian legend of Jeffrey vs Goliath and I am proud to have picked the winner. Keep fighting the good fight for your users and we will spread the word about the new Canadian go-to for a password manager..Version: 2.9.5

Best Password Manager on the market!Simple, easy to use. Not bloated with extra features I never use. Easily accessed with all my devices. Great developer response. I truly love this app. Don’t waste your time with others. You’ve found it!.Version: 2.9.2

Incredible app, responsive developerI’ve been looking for the password app that would replace 1Password. Minimalist is it. Does it have all the bells and whistles that 1P has? No, at least not yet, and probably never will since 1P now has feature bloat for the non-enterprise user. Minimalist works perfectly, and when there is a slight issue, which I had, Jeffrey the develop is quick to respond and very helpful. For me, this is perhaps the most important feature to look for in an app: an accessible and responsive developer. I would highly recommend trying Minimalist as your first password manager. And if you are looking to leave 1Password, I looked at many many of the alternatives. This is the one..Version: 3.1.2

Amazing app, amazing developer! Was a 1Password user for eons before I decided I had enough of the subscriptions and how bloated it was getting with features I never use, so I went on a quest to try all the alternatives. On PC, I've always used KeePass, but even the best of the KeePass macOS apps are still klunky and confusing. Then I came across Minimalist and I had that "THIS IS IT!" moment... I wanted something no-frills, super clean and simple and this app hits all those marks... it feels like if Apple had made a front end for Keychain, this is what it would look and behave like, and that's a huge bonus. The sync is ridiculously fast and rock solid, the developer quickly adds new features users ask for and he's a super nice, helpful and humble guy to boot... and then, of course, the icing on the cake was a one-time forever purchase (but there is a subscription option for those who want it)... couldn't be happier with this app! Thank you Jeffrey for all your hard work and releasing this for others to enjoy and use!.Version: 2.7.1

Left 1Password for MinimalistI'm a long-time user of 1Password. Over the years the simplicity of 1Password has become bloated and confusing to use. I was always a 1P app user, but the app was constantly being annoyed with 1P account/subscription sign-up. After a couple years of this I eventually relented and signed up for a trial family account, rationalizing that a family account would work for my spouse and kids who needed a password manager as well. Converting from my local 1P app to the 1P account required multiple emails to 1P support. After taking several days and a reminder to get to my ticket, their emails were actually quite friendly and helpful explaining a Primary vs Private vault and got my data into the account. However, having both Primary and Private vaults causes 1P to think they are duplicate passwords, so 1P support suggested to backup and delete my Primary vault (which is for local app use). After trial ended I decided 1P was too complicated for my family, but now all my data was on the 1P account and not local. Could not go back to using the app locally with a Primary vault. Exported my data and chose Minimalist instead..Version: 3.3

Great password manager!Great Apple centric password manager. It is missing some features like checking against the haveibeenpwned database, but overall great!.Version: 3.0.2

Minimalist works wellI am happy with the app for storing my passwords. It’s been easy to populate with my information. The one time I’ve had a problem, Jeffrey wrote back very quickly. His first suggestion, to update the app with the latest fixes, fixed everything and it was smooth sailing after that. I’m sold on the security and convenience of Minimalist..Version: 2.9.1

Super software & supportLastPass was starting to get a little flaky - and then Minimalist came along. Minimalist is very Mac native. I had some issues which were rooted in my own foolishness with iCloud and Jeffrey was right there with suggestions - so often software support contact is like iffy, if ever, but my experience here was great. BTW - my issue was fixed and the app is working fine..Version: 3.1.1

Clean, Crisp, FastI love that this password manager uses Apple's AutoFill system for macOS. Fast, secure, and private. The improvement cadence is especially impressive given they are such a small shop. This has become my password manager across my Apple devices and I am very impressed..Version: 3.1.1

Clean & SolidI switched from 1password because having to store the data on their server is a deal breaker for me, and their legacy version which allows iCloud sync is no longer receiving any updates. This is the perfect replacement with fewer features but good enough, the only feature I wish to have is the ability to share vaults with family..Version: 3.0.2

Solid Password ManagerMinimalist is a well devloped password manager with frequent updates and improvements. They still have a ways to go when it comes to competing with the likes of 1Password, but they are well on their way – hoping to see continued improvements to what is already a solid app..Version: 3.0.1

Seamless migration and integrationClean design and an unbelievable value for the money make Minimalist the best password manager for Apple users right now. I was—like so many other Minimalist users—looking to migrate my passwords vault from 1password 7 to any other password manager, one that wouldn't force me to pay yet another subscription just to host my data on their own servers. I imported all 1,082 of my logins without a hitch, and I was off and running! Paying for a cross-platform lifetime subscription (macOS iOS) was an easy decision after that. The iOS apps are as polished and fast as their big macOS brother and, thanks to Apple's own AutoFill, I can already seamlessly use Minimalist with everything, up to and including my new preferred web browser, Orion. The only feature I'll miss from 1password is being alerted when there's a password breach—a feature that Keychain and the Jumbo app both already have covered. The only unexpected hiccup was when the iOS app's "restore purchases" link didn't work. I emailed support, who were responsive and who already have a FAQ for this very scenario. (To those who may encounter the same unexpected behavior, just click to buy the app again, and you'll get Apple's "already purchased" popup—phew.).Version: 3.3

Very GoodReally happy with this app. I've been using it for a year or more at least on multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, various Macs. I was previously a 1Password user but did not want a subscription. Some family members compain about it not saving or syncing passwords, but I think they are mixing up iCloud KeyChain and Minimalist in those cases. I have not had any sync issues between devices. Love the minimalist interface, though Settings is a bit confusing to navigate on Mac. I wish it had a "normal" settings UI for a Mac app rather than an iOS UI..Version: 3.4.3

Great Alternative to 1Password's Subscription ModelIt seems this app is on the right track. It is not a complete replacement for 1Password yet, but I hope it is sooner rather than later. 1. Although this app support family purchase sharing, but it doesn't support share passwords. 2. Need some kind of universal fill in for other browsers, and the ability to save/update password..Version: 3.2

Fantastic functional and well integrated appMinimalist is just amazing in how much capability it offers, besting the competition from larger companies that force you to enter prolonged contracts with them to access your passwords, even if you don’t want to use their storage. Meanwhile Minimalist offers you flexibility across multiple platforms, supporting tons of modern security features around 2FA, etc, and has a development team that is responsive to feedback. Also, you pay once for this amazing software, and it keeps working. Sure an upgrade in the future that add significant features may require an upgrade, but so far we’re getting new awesome free features all along. Huge thanks to the developers!.Version: 3.1.2

Spectacular update. Not sure what else to say…Man I can't believe the development cycle this app is going through right now. I wrote a glowing review like a week ago, and now here I am again lol. This update brings something I've been wanting since the beginning: an "Archived" section. This is super important for me because I've got stuff I can't get rid of that just clutters up my general list, but even worse, pops up when I'm autofilling on a website. Well that's now taken care of. Implementation is well thought out and seamless. The second HUGE update is a full-blown password generator. This thing is NUTS and is hands down better than the 1Pass generator. It has all the features from that app PLUS some tasty extras. I've been using Minimalist for months (it replaced 1Pass when I finally reached the end of the rope with AgileBits). It was a solid but stripped down app back then so I didn't talk to anyone about it. But then it got better. And better. And better. So I started recommending to certain friends and family. I still didn't recommend it to *everyone* since it still had some rough edges (albeit very soft rough edges but still). With this update I'm gonna start recommending it to everyone. And I can finally say something I've been champing at the bit to say since I first made the switch: Minimalist is better than 1pass. Full stop. It's better in every way and I believe it's the best password manager out there, period..Version: 2.9.9

Simple and easy to useExcellent app that is simple and easy to use..Version: 3.1.2

All that's required to replace 1PasswordLike many here, I am a former 1Password user displaced by their recent boneheadedness. Of the other password managers I've looked at, Minimalist is the only one that checks all the vital boxes right now: a codebase solely for Apple platforms, because cross-platform generally means it's unpolished crap on every device; custom fields that remember their order, because KeePass thinks the bank's phone number on the back of your credit card is more vital than the CVV; and simple manual item sharing. Minimalist isn't perfect—the interface hides too many tasks behind menu buttons or tap-and-holds, it's missing features like password compromise monitoring and a Watch app, and it strays a bit too far from the Apple look and feel for my taste—but the core features are ready now and all indications say it's early days yet. Looking forward to the next few versions!.Version: 2.9.9

Great app and very responsice Developper.I found this app while searching for a better and less bloated password manager and found this great app. I emailed the developper with a few questions and he took the time to answer in detail. Great customer exeperience 👍.Version: 2.8

Excellent password managerI'm an ex-1Password user and I'm very happy I switched over. The app works well on Macos and IOS and the functionality is complete for me (nearly 400 passwords.) The support is superb, questions via email are always answered quickly and fully. Development is ongoing, not sitting still, and these guys are enthusiastic! What's not to like?.Version: 3.2

I'm a Minimalist devotee!I've used plenty of password managers before, but they had some combination of clunky, ugly, slow, or scary-with-my-data, but having ADHD means I reaaaally need a password manager. I was excited to find Minimalist as it really is the best one out there. I love how well it integrates with all of my devices how I was able to share passwords with my daughter on her iPad. Definitely recommend this app..Version: 3.0.1

Best Password Manager hands down!Minimal. Thats the key. No fuss and right to the point, thats what you need when your looking for information as quickly as possible. I use to use another password manager but since they discountined their version which i paid for a lifetime subscription, I was left no choice and glad I found minimalist! Great app! Keep up the good work boys!.Version: 3.2

My favorite "functional" appI'm honestly surprised by how much I love this app. I was never a 1Password user like many of the reviewers here, but I was increasingly feeling the need to be more organized and secure my password maintenence. Many of the altenratives out there seemed overly cluttered/complicated, and while the native Safari password generator is convenient for quick password generation on the fly, the process of accessing/referencing/updating saved passwords leaves a lot to be desired. Enter Minimalist which is everything I didn't know I needed. I use it as my "master" reference of all passwords and secure log-ins, and love how easy it is to copy a password, make updates/notes, etc. Most of my app purchases go by the wayside, but i use this daily..Version: 3.3

Really good appUsing this great everyday!!.Version: 3.2

Great app limited by AppleI think this app is absolutely fantastic and frankly Apple should just buy this company to replace iCloud Keychain and Autofill. If they did this it would strongly reinforce Apple’s branding of being incredibly secure and safe, while also being intuitive and easy to use. In all truthfulness, I can’t use this app simply because it doesn’t work as well for me as keychain or Bitwarden. However, this is not the app’s fault, it is simply just limited by Apple refusing compatibility or allowing third-party password managers to adjust the Autofill capabilities. I think if Apple were able to fix this, or Minimalist found some miracle cure it would be a 6 out of 5 star app and would be better than Bitwarden and Keychain combined. Still, I’ll give it 5 stars since that isn’t the developers fault..Version: 3.4.1

Best Password keeper!!Just like, probably, everyone else I was long time user of 1Password where I stuck with V7.x and where I was too long afraid that I will accidentally press “update” button and will lose all of my passwords since I didn’t want to go to subscription road. And then after trying many pass managers I got Minimalist name on some angry 1Pass users forum. What a surprise!! Minimalist is a rare diamond. It work flawlessly, it have very clean user interface, it work perfectly and the best of all you can choose your way how to “own” it. There is One Time Purchase (my case) or subscription model. Whatever suit you. Developer update app regularly adding new features and repairing bugs. They are supper responsive and are willing to help. Hope these guys will be “light at the end of the tunnel” for this global subscription nightmare. I finally delete my 1Password app and enjoy my password manager without fear of loosing my passwords! P.S. to developers! I know the experience and name is intended to be “Minimalist” but maybe there could be an option that we can add our own choice of (App or website) icon for each password. Somehow, for me, visual search per icons is more convenient then just the name list. But hey, it is just a suggestion. Don’t want to complicate or make “minimal to maximal”. Minimalist is just the perfect as it is..Version: 3.0.2

SuperbI gave up on Wallet by Acrylic Software because it is no longer supported and was getting problems with it. I exported the content into Excel, tidied up as much as I could, then imported into Minimalist. Then the work really began creating my database of secure information. I have found Minimalist superb. I have designed my own templates (e.g. to keep details of my cars) as well as used their standard ones. It is extremely flexible aand visually very simple and clear. I was initially concerned it did not have folders/icons for different types of password, but this is not needed. It is better to set the keywords corrected, then everything relevant appears on screen. Overall extremely pleased and happy to pay a reasonable fee each year for software that is proberly supported..Version: 3.4.3

Perfect, but could be legendary!!So many password managers just focus on high subscription fees & features we dont want or need!! Since Remembear announed they were closing ive been on the hunt for a new password manager... I have tried Nord Pass, Dashlane & 1 password and have found myself incredibly annoyed with them! Minimalist is exactly what it says on the tin! A very minimalist and easy to use UI. Great customisation and organisation with in the app! Will be keeping this one!! Suggestion: Could we login using an email address? I have mutiple apple devices with different apple id's and i would love to use this app across devices! also.... maybe folders that work based on your tags. E.g. Media, Work, Car, Notes.... Thanks Guys!!!.Version: 3.4

The Apple password manager you are looking forJUST WORKS IN SAFARI. I switched to Safari for privacy and speed, but the main commercial password managers have been driving me crazy there with login problems, wow speeds, terrible browser extensions and little support. This one just works: I imported all my passwords, followed the instructions and voila. LOVE that no browser extension is needed, and everything just syncs neatly across desktop/iOS via iCloud. MINIMAL ESSENTIALS. The app is such a relief if you are fed up with the commercial password managers, and also find the built-in Apple password manager just needs a little more. Apple’s built in password manager is unwieldy when you want to find and change or copy a password, or for websites with different urls (like Apple.com and icloud.com) where you have to remember to change all of them at once. Minimalist gives you a slick interface to find/change things, and has a helpful “additional websites” field that lets you associate one login with multiple sites. Plus all the neat features you need like faceID and touchID for a smooth experience. Really looking forward to the addition of features warning about data breaches via resources like “Have I been pwned”, as it would be nice to audit the security of my existing passwords. I imagine a simple traffic-light system with red/yellow/green dots next to vulnerable login entries in the list. Credit card autofill is not done through minimalist (although you can obviously store cc data), but rather has to be done through Safari’s built-in in credit card autofill system (under Safari Settings > Autofill > Credit Cards) rather than through Minimalist. I found this to be no problem. Thanks for the fantastic app..Version: 3.4.1

Perfect for Apple devicesI made the switch from another 1, like many others, and the import functionality worked flawlessly. This password manager is fast, simple to use and integrates brilliantly into Apple software (Safari). It feels as though this is the password manager that should come with all Apple devices, given their focus on privacy. The fact that a SINGLE (no more subscriptions, yay!) premium lifetime purchase applies to the whole family is a huge win..Version: 3.2

Minimalist Password ManagerHaving used 1Password since it was first released, I have been extremely happy since switching to Minimalist. It can do everything I did in 1Password, especially that it now has a password generator, at a fraction of the cost. Having tried a number of password managers in preparation to the unwanted update of 1Password, I am totally satisfied with Minimalist..Version: 2.9.9

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!I was tired of being force-fed features I didn't need at price increases I didn't want to pay by 1Password. Step in Minimalist and all my troubles were over. A one-off payment for a perfect UX, incredible customer service and all the things that made 1Password a hit almost 10 years ago. It's even a treat to read the updates notes every new release - therse guys actually listen and respond. 10 stars out of five! Thanks Minimalist! :0).Version: 3.0.1

A Suitable Lastpass replacementYou guys are pretty much the best in the game right now for me because even though you do charge like the other big password managers, you also offer a one-time payment unlike them so that's where you guys shine. Cheers..Version: 2.7.3

Lives up to its nameThis password manager definitely lives up to its name as it is very minimal in looks, but it is also very robust in function. I appreciate that I can use it as an auto fill app without a browser extension. I also appreciate that I can sync via iCloud. I would absolutely recommend this password manager for anybody looking for a new one or even for their first password manager..Version: 3.4.1

Brilliant AppAmazing App! Just starting my transition from 1password which was ok until they released Version 8, I originally bought a stand alone License and everything was fine, since the last update i decided to start looking for an alternative. Minimalist is exactly what i have been looking for, syncing with iCloud is fantastic and all future improvements will make this the go to app for alot of apple users..Version: 3.1.2

Easily the best password manager appI tried this as I was fed up with paying monthly charges for a 1Password account. It was a refreshing option to allow a one time payment rather than a pay forever model that all the other competitors use. The app is great. Simple, clean and does exactly what I need. So glad I tried it. Nothing more to say, I love it! Keep up the good work!.Version: 3.0.1

Spare, speedy, superbWith so many password managers it can be hard to pick. For many years I used 1Password but jibbed at the subscription and never much warmed to it because of the small font which made content difficult to read on a high res monitor. The only alternatives I found that were more user-friendly in this respect (and also cheaper) were Bitwarden and Minimalist. Both good, but Minimalist is much more direct and faster to use once you grasp its way of doing things. Just type the first few letters of a login title, without even activating a search field, and as often as not the item will open directly with no further clicks. Categorisation and icons are just a distraction from lightning fast search. Autosave also helps to reduce friction. Other useful features are archiving, a good password generator and large type passwords with underlying numbers (for those websites that want the 3rd, 6th and 12th character). To cap it all the dev is very responsive and the roadmap is full of promise..Version: 2.9.9

As AdvertisedVery clean and "minimalist" interface. Integrates well with Safari. The only real downside I can pick out is that there is no cross-platform compatibility at all. However, if you live exclusively in the Apple ecosystem (macOS, iOS, etc). then this may be your best bet for a relatively seamless password manager..Version: 3.4

PerfectThis password manager works amazingly well. Simple, fast, effective and efficient. A much better experience than 1Password. I would give 6 stars if the app was certified by an independent audit to give additional guarantees about keeping the data secure..Version: 3.2

Great alternative to 1PasswordI have switched from 1Password due to its subscription policy and have using Minimalist in its place. The Minimalist developer is receptive to enhancements to the app and has already implemented a couple that I have suggested. I would have given it 5-stars but I am waitng for a feature that is already in the pipeline. Give a try, it is definitely worth it..Version: 2.9.9

Almost the bestGreat app. Now my preferred password manager. The only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is the irritating Touch ID problem on my MacBook. You have to select from Touch ID or Password to unlock the app. You don’t have to select either Face ID or Password on iOS so I don’t understand why the process can’t be streamlined on MacOS. May seem like a small niggle but other password managers don’t do it. Please fix it..Version: 2.9.7

This is the password (and more) keeper you’re looking forEvery other password manager looks like a heaping pile of clutter compared to Minimalist. Just because an app provides an unglamorous function doesn’t mean it can’t have an interface that actually makes you enjoy using it. Oh, and as for functionality? It just… WORKS..Version: 3.4.1

Great, Simple AppMigrated to Minimalist from Keychain due to various bugs in Keychain I don't think Apple will ever fix. While I do miss the ability to save a new set of credentials right upon creation in Safari, the upsides to Minimalist (clean design, fast synching, good pace of development) make it worth using..Version: 2.9.9

Best combination of price and featuresGreat feature set, clear presentation, one-time purchase available. Look no further. You don’t need me to enthuse about the features, just try the free version..Version: 3.0.1

A great start, but hoping for more features to be developedThis is a great app and I like the simplicity of it. However there should at least be the option to add more features into the app where needed. The big one for me is sharing vaults so I can create a password vault for my spouse and be able to keep it up to date! The developers seem to have gone quiet, and even their twitter account doesn't seem to be there, so hopefully they will read this and continue to develop features..Version: 3.4

Wonderful native-Apple password managerI needed an alternative to the Electron-based and price-gouging dark turn that 1Password has taken: look no further than Minimalist. The app is beautiful, fast, small, universal across Mac/iPhone/iPad, uses a native coadbase and is easy to use. The few features you may miss from 1Password are on their public roadmap and the developers seem like conscientious people. A win!.Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic!!Was looking for alternative to 1P as I was prior to subscription service (paid for app then they changed their business model). Was easily able to export all my info and upload to Minimalist. So far it has worked flawlessly. Would love for shared vaults and devs say they should be coming in future release. Went ahead and went one-time purchase to hopefully help out the cause. Now let’s hope this one-time purchase stands the test of time…..Version: 3.0.2

Best password manager EVAR!I've been using 1Password since 2015 and have been watching it slowly become a flaming ball of you-know-what for the past several years. I knew I had to abandon it and find something new...well, enter Minimalist! This app is absolutely fantastic. It is sleek, lean, and the devs are on their game. We get BIG updates on a regular basis and they really listen to their users. Thank you for creating a password manager that actually keeps us safe..Version: 2.9.9

Favorite password manager so farHave been a Minimalist user for two years now. Previously, I have used LastPass, Bitwarden, MSecure, KeePass, and others. So far, Minimalist is the overall winner in my book. Pros: ONE time purchase of license. I am SOO sick of the "subscription" model all these other services sneak in after you've already paid for something. True minimalist design. We don't need fancy schmancy glitzy UI's for something with such a singular mission as a password manager. Development team that truly listens to its customer base. No reported security breaches as of 2023. Looking at YOU LastPass. Cons: - Only works in the Apple/iCloud ecosystem..Version: 3.4.3

I Can’t Praise It EnoughI switched over to using Minimalst when my faithful old RememBear packed up his bags and wandered back into the forest. This password manager has fitted perfectly into the space he left behind. Employed on my iPhone 7 and my 5th generation iPad, Minimalist does exactly what I require of it. I love its simplicity - both in terms of its use, and of its simple design. It does the job quietly and efficiently, without getting in the way. I can wholly recommend it..Version: 3.4.1

Truly in the Mac traditionThis is a wonderful app! As a Mac user since 1990, I can say from experience that the best apps are those that combine simplicity with functionality--always the hallmark of a good Mac program. Minimalist does both of those things very well. It is a joy to use. Thanks and keep up the good work..Version: 2.9.9

On the right track! After downloading the app and playing with it for a few hours, i can say that this is on track to being a perfect password manager. With a beautiful UI and OTP Code support, there isn't much else like it on the market. Unfortunately however (and the reason for docking the app 1 star), is due to the fact i'm going to have to uninstall this until browser support is up to standard and/or a windows app is released (people need passwords for their games!). To most apps this would make my overall review a 2 star, but because of the small dev team and openness to admit on the website that creating alot of browser extensions is difficuly, it makes it a 4 for me. Whilst i may be uninstalling now, i will certainly keep popping in from time to time to see if these features are added, and then it'll be my goto within a day..Version: 2.9.9
