Acloset - AI Fashion Assistant for Negative User Reviews

Was pretty good, before the updateI’ve been using this for about half a year and really enjoyed it. It worked well, from automatically cropping the clothes, to the organization, to the outfit calendar. But then I updated. I saw that there were ads every couple of rows when scrolling through my closet. Ok, a little annoying but to be expected when you have a free app. Then I tried to add my outfit for the day (note: I did not add any clothing, I just made an outfit from my existing closet), and it said I have too many clothes for the free version and need to upgrade (I have 114 when the new limit is apparently 100). So, even though I was using it fine before updating, now I have too many clothes added. And I don’t add clothes every day, so being 14 items over means I’ve been over this “limit” for awhile. But it wasn't an issue until they decided they wanted more money. And, not only can I not add more clothing (again, understandable that there’s a limit. But this didn’t exist when I originally downloaded the app) but I can’t even interact with what I’ve already added?? I feel like the developers of this app have wasted so much of my time now. I’m being forced to either pay, or lose everything I’ve done for the past 6 months..Version: 5.8.2

Good idea, some issuesI started using the app when it was free, shortly after that they introduced the subscription model. I didn’t have an issue with this and got the yearly premium which would have 1000 items. I hadn’t scanned any items in a couple months and now that I started again I realized that many of the items I scanned previously are no longer there. I’m not sure if this happened after the update to subscriptions and before I purchased mine? Either way very frustrating since it was time consuming to add the items only to have them gone later. Other than this issue the app has worked well and I like the feature of OOTD so I can see what I wear or don’t. I’ll definitely keep using if I can get my “lost” items back but if not will probably cancel as the double work is not worth it..Version: 5.11.2

Used to be greatThis app used to be amazing. Easy to use. Simple. No fuss. Great way to track your closet items and plan your outfits. Ever since they added a subscription model and annoying ads, the quality and user experience of the app has significant deteriorated. I deleted the app after using it almost every day for over a year. You should’ve given your original users some sort of promotional lifetime subscription offer. Lost opportunity to retain your users and original loyal members of the app..Version: 5.11.2

Ridiculous pricing no longer free for more than 100 itemsOnce loved this app, now they have asked for wayyy more than any other digital closet, I would have paid a decent one off price or a lower annual amount or put up with ads but now I’m moving over to another app now, good luck losing most of your users.Version: 5.7.1

PaywallThere was no notice before paywall which was frustrating..Version: 5.8.2

LOVED this app for like two monthsI’ve had this app for like two-ish months and it was SO helpful in helping me be mindful about clothing and having less stress surrounding choosing work clothes in the morning. Then all of a sudden I can’t do a SINGLE thing on the app without watching a 30 second ad each time.Version: 5.9.0

Unreasonably priced appChanging this to a pay structure, a really really expensive one at that is so out of touch. There are still ads and this short sighted decision has helped me make the decision that I don’t need one more reason to look at my phone. After using this daily for several months, I have deleted it. New users, don’t bother..Version: 5.8.2

I will never pay for thisUsed this app religiously for over one years because I spent so much time uploading pieces. Then all of a sudden they want to charge annually…for what? The AI suggestions are garbage (blouse with a crop top with a dress?) and the interface is out of date. You lost me!.Version: 5.7.1

Greedy people broke the appBeen using for a few months now but all of a sudden they want a stupid amount of money to continue using app and won’t let me even access what I’ve already spend hours creating..Version: 5.8.1

This sucks😭Was great at first but suddenly u cant do anything without a popup to buy the subscription & a 30 second ad. Definitely use a different app.Version: 5.11.2

Best wardrobe app ruined by expensive subscriptionUsed to love this app, it was the best I’d come across to record my wardrobe and plan outfits, so useful to be able to see everything at a glance. The AI part was pretty useless and didn’t want the option to sell or buy through the app but otherwise loved it. Spent so much time categorising and building combinations which was incredibly useful and used it daily, all for them to suddenly update it and demand a ridiculous amount of money in subscription unless you have a smaller number of items. Am searching for a replacement unless they drastically change their pricing. Very disappointing..Version: 5.8.2

Beware of paywallWhoever thought it was good to start a subscription for this app needs to seriously rethink..Version: 5.7.1

It’s okayThe layout is good and logging your outfits is easy but the main reason I downloaded it was for the outfit suggestions but it just says you don’t have enough clothes in your closet when I have over 25. Also the sections you log the clothes in are confusing..Version: 4.0.5

Have to pay to use nowI had been enjoying using this app. I didn’t get much from the AI suggestions but I had been using it to catalogue my wardrobe and my outfits each day. Then all of a sudden today, they are asking me to pay a large sum for a subscription to keep using the app as I have been, and it’s now useless to me unless I pay.Version: 5.7.1

We need to pay now??Bruh i added all my stuff, this year was finally the year i wanted go log my everyday outfit to have data on what i wear the most and such and to wear stuff that i wear less and i was halfway through January and when i tried to log an outfit bam i need to sub ??? This app was perfect before that. Now i cant even select my items to update them bc i need to SUB. Also the AI always shows me the same kinda fit, sometimes just doesn’t match at all and it wasnt even doing outfits with accessories (like jewelry and hair accessories) Like bro be frl Deleting the app 💔.Version: 5.7.1

Can’t change the unit system in Body typeForce me to use ft/lbs instead of cm/kg. I don’t know why it uses such minority metric without an option to change. Also, no dark mode..Version: 5.6.5

Used to be goodThis used to be my go to for planning my outfits but now you have to pay to have more than 100 items in your closet so I can no longer use this app without paying.Version: 5.7.1

Things changed for the worse…if your going to charge don’t make it a subscriptionAfter nearly 4 years of using this app I will be deleting it and finding another clothing app that doesn’t have a subscription. To make someone pay annually, monthly or weekly just to use your simple app… absurdity. I would be willing to keep this app if there were an option to pay a one time payment of like $9.99 or something similar. But your subscription prices are ABSURD in addition to the fact that I already have so many recurring charges I don’t need a subscription just for such a simple app. Please take this feedback and give us more options! I’m extremely upset that all the time I spent over the last 4 years adding and cataloging my clothing items has been wasted now because I am forced to delete this app and use another that doesn’t require a subscription… extremely disappointed. Please at the very least offer a one time purchase to have unlimited access to the app. A subscription is just not a realistic option for many people, but I can budget an app purchase. But many people can’t afford paying monthly or yearly for an app subscription that will “change” and demand more per charge for the subscription. It’s not good business..Version: 5.8.2

Please go back to free version!!!I absolutely LOVED this app for over a year but now that i’ve reached the clothing limit, I have to pay for the app??? Nope, very disappointed, please please please bring back the free version or put ads or something..Version: 5.7.1

It’s changedI’ve been using this app for a while now and loving it, but they recently changed it and added a bunch of ads and a member ship that costs $40 a year if you want the basic utilities. I do not recommend this app anymore! all the old 5 star reviews are from before this update….Version: 5.9.0

Months of outfits lost in update!Disappointing as this was quite a user friendly app…. But all of my outfits have disappeared with the upgrade. Too risky to start again, sadly..Version: 3.10.2

Unusable after updateThey made everything hidden behind a subscription, you can’t do anything you used to do before this. Limited to 99 items. The ads are everywhere and everything lags because of them..Version: 5.8.2

Good until the updateDon’t download unless you want to pay..Version: 5.8.2

It was so good until it wasn'tI collect clothing as a hobby, and I really loved Acloset as it helped me with making sure I was using everything I owned. I used this app almost daily. however, charging $80 a year if you have more than 300 little pngs of clothing is disgusting. I wont be using this app anymore. Additionally, I have maybe used the AI feature once or twice since I downloaded the app 8 months ago. It's essentially useless. If youre making the subscription so expensive to support this feature, just scrap it..Version: 5.7.1

Leaving app because of subscription planIf you have more than 100 items, you will have to pay monthly or yearly subscriptions. I would have paid a small one time fee but I am not paying $5.99 AUD monthly or honestly any monthly fee. Liked this app but will be finding another one now. They also only let you know once you’ve reached the 100th item anddd after you’ve filled out the information for that outfit, forcing you to delete it or pay..Version: 5.8.1

Adding clothes is smooth, but the suggested outfits aren’t goodI’m pretty impressed with the background removal when you add photos, and I’m also interested in the analytics of my closet. The problem with the app is that the ai is terrible at suggesting outfits. It’ll show me the same two or three items each time, never utilizes accessories, and sometimes it’ll even make goofy mistakes like putting two shirts in one outfit. You can manually click on the outfits you don’t like and tell the ai not to pair two specific items together, but it would really be better if you could tell it what categories you want it to pull from.Version: 3.9.1

Poor AiI spent 2 hours adding items to my closet as i heard online ai could make you an outfit. I own about 15 pairs of shorts, and added every single one of them to the closet. When i clicked on the AI feature, it couldn’t create me an outfit. As soon as I added a skirt, it make all my outfits with the skirt. I also have multiple t shirts in the closet and somehow the ai only manages to add hoodies to a ‘summer outfit’!.Version: 4.6.1

USED TO BE GOODThis used to be such a good FREE app to record all your clothes items on, including all the details you may need; store, size, price, date of purchase etc. I used to rate it so highly and tell everyone I know about how great it was. Since the app has changed to a paid platform you can not access this information at all, can add items you’ve brought, change outfits you’ve logged. Honestly the price is disgustingly high and there isn’t a life time purchase offer or anything for pre-existing users. The app not feels like it cares more about the revenue than the users and I can’t get behind it. JUST LET USERS ACCESS THEIR INFORMATION!!.Version: 5.7.1

Very unfair to its clientsSuddenly changed their policy to rather high monthly price and locked all the users data. No warning, transition period or something. We can’t even access our data anymore and we, the clients who used your app for years, are now faced with newly imposed rules. I don’t feel comfortable when app developers feel they can do whatever, the world is not your dollhouse..Version: 5.8.2

Premium Plan System Ruined ItBefore the paid system was introduced, this app was one of my favourites being 4 or 5 stars, but since the payment is a subscriptio, and makes the app borderline unusable without it (I have over 100 items), I will be sadly leaving the app. Even worse is the fact I cannot even access my information to transfer it all over correctly due to the payment plan blocking it, thanks a lot acloset 🙃. I will potentially come back after they revert the change or switch to a small one time fee..Version: 5.7.1

Subscription updateI really enjoyed using this app since last year with around 500 items in my closet, but the subscription payments they’ve recently added is so disappointing. The prices they are asking for is ridiculous, sadly I won’t be able to add anything new to my closet now as there is no way i’m paying for this app in this economy. what a shame. The fact the subscription pop up blocks me from even viewing my clothes or the posts i’ve made or would like to make it obnoxious, i have spent DAYS scanning my closet into this app for everything to be lost bc of this popup. If money was the issue they could have easily added ads into the app.. i’m considering just quitting and printing out my clothes photos into a flip book instead..Version: 5.8.1

UnusableApp was great when it was free but now with the paid subscription it’s pretty much unusable and without any new features added..Version: 5.9.0

Great app but it’s causing issues now!I started using the app a couple weeks ago and I think it’s great but now whenever I add an item of clothing to my closet, it won’t let me and an error pops up :( Hopefully they can fix the bug soon..Version: 4.8.1

Good to get inspirationI like that it automatically removes the background when adding clothes, and it even lets you edit the photo in case you need to adjust it. The adding clothes was pretty easy until I got to about 70 items. Suddenly the “add clothes” feature just stopped loading photos and I couldn’t add anymore. I don’t believe there’s a limit on how much you can add, I think the feature is just buggy. Other than that it’s a great way to get inspiration and wear pieces you might’ve forgotten about or often overlook. I do wish there was a way to favorite or rank you favorite pieces so the AI would know to create outfits with those clothes more often. For some reason it kept only offering AI generated outfits with one particular skirt I’m not very fond of. Maybe once I add more clothes in it’ll generate with more variety, but until the buggy “add clothes” feature gets fixed I won’t be able to know..Version: 4.6.2

Was 5 StarsThis was a 5 star app until they implemented their subscription plan. I spent hours taking pictures of my clothing and creating outfits only to be locked out of everything. There isn’t even a way to my download outfits or clothing items. The company says they pushed out notifications about the sub plan at several interval, I never saw this. Maybe put it as a notification in the inbox next time? The pricing for the subscription is astronomical and not worth it when there are other free apps out there. Open Wardobe has AI and is still free. Stylebook is $4.99 and looks just like this app. This is what happens when you are out of touch with your user group and don’t do proper market research..Version: 5.8.1

UnusableThe sudden subscription requirement combined with the insane amount of ads has made this app unusable for me now. Ridiculous. I can’t even access my existing data without seeing an ad every other click..Version: 5.7.1

Not worth paying forThis app used to be bring me so much joy but it is now filled with ads and pop ups asking to pay for it monthly. I’m deleting it..Version: 5.10.1

Why is it now paidI’ve been using this app for over a year now to log my outfits and have enjoyed it a lot but why do I now have to get a subscription to keep using it as I have been?? This is so stupid :(.Version: 5.7.1

Was a great app but now it costs too muchI have used this app for over a year, have recommended it to people and loved it but $40 a year for just the BASIC membership is way too much. I’d be fine if not paying meant I’d lose features like the outfit suggestions, access to the community side etc and id accept the copious advertisements but this is no longer a functioning app without membership. Super disappointing..Version: 5.8.2

Love this app. It needs advanced searchI use this app every day. It makes my life so much easier to plan what I will wear in advance, make sure I’m using everything in my closet, and it makes mornings so much easier. But it only gets 3 stars because it desperately needs advanced search. For example, it needs: - ability to filter when you’re looking at a list of outfits containing a certain item. For example, it already lets you see all outfit ideas with a specific top, but there’s no way to filter that list by season. - add a filter for specific clothing items. For example, if I’m looking at outfit ideas I’ve made, I might want to see everything with a certain shoe AND a certain top. Plus I also want to be able to filter by season. When you’ve used this app a lot, you get a lot of ideas built up and that makes it hard to find combinations you’ve made. Advanced search would help a lot..Version: 5.11.2

Not happy with the subscription feeWhy the subscription fee?? Not a fan of this and will probably stop using it!.Version: 5.11.0

PaywallI put a lotta effort into putting in items, brands, patterns, colours, fabrics and the such. Just to find out you have to pay $44 CAD to input more than 100 items. It was good. Too bad :/.Version: 5.11.2

Unfair subscription. Unusable nowReally? Introducing a subscription now and making any feature I’ve been using for the past year and a half inaccessible ? Terrible move. I spent hours cataloguing every single item I own and it has been a tremendous help for me to be able to scroll through my options rather than dig through drawers to remember what I have. Also loved to document what I was wearing every day and see what I was and was not wearing. Completely unfair to existing users to remove essentially all features u less we pay a ridiculous price. I see this update states they will now be allowing us to see the details of the items we’ve already logged, but frankly this is not enough. Remove the clothing item limit and allow us to log daily outfits. If there are other features you wanna introduce for a price, that’s fine. Also introducing a pricey subscription plan while ALSO adding ads that make the app extremely annoying to use…. Wow. Extremely disappointed. Hope they do the right thing so I can use this app again..Version: 5.8.2

YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW?!Was such a great ad free app but now apparently you have to pay for it to hold more than 100 items. It’s $80?! The ai is terrible and doesn’t even make sense for the weather lol. SCAM PLEASE STAY AWAY GIRLIES.Version: 5.8.2

Paywalled with no warningEdit #2: I requested a refund and went back to the basic plan after access was reinstated. The app is basically unusable without the premium plan - now you have to watch a 20 second ad and a subscription pop up every single time you click on something. Thankfully I’m very close to done with manually moving all my data back to Stylebook (which ironically I left in the first place because Acloset had a better user experience). It’s a shame the developers chose to destroy app functionality and user goodwill in the hope of squeezing a few bucks out of everyone. Edit: I paid for a month of premium just so I could access my item details again (for the purpose of transferring across to a different app). Now they have just announced they will be reinstating access to item details for free users. So now I’ve also wasted $5.99 under false pretences… Been using this app daily for a while now, incredibly disappointing today to be kicked off for now having “too many” items for a free plan (there was never a premium plan before). I can’t even delete some items to get back below the limit because I can’t click on anything without getting a pop up asking me to pay. I’d also like to get all my cost per wear data before deleting items so I can continue tracking using a spreadsheet, but I’m unable to view any of the item details now. It looks like I’m going to have to pay for a month just to be able to get all my data before cancelling. This could have been communicated better to existing users - I actually would have been happy to pay a small subscription fee from the start. If there was some notice period to decide whether we want to pay or move our data elsewhere that would have been ok. But suddenly locking users out without any notification is poor form :(.Version: 5.8.2

This app WAS five stars…I have been using this app for almost a year now and I adored it. It was so helpful to view the data about everything in my closet and what I actually wear. Now that there is a paid subscription, I can’t even access my closet. There is a limit of 100 items in the free version, and if you previously had above that before the update, you can just no longer use the app at all unless you pay for it. You aren’t allowed to remove clothes to bring your total down below 100, you literally just cannot use the app. Super shady and I’m really disappointed. All of this was implemented without warning too. I just got on the app one day and discovered, “Sorry, unless you pay us all of a sudden, you can’t use the app and we aren’t giving you the option to use the free version.” Unless this is fixed and I can remove clothes to get below the 100 limit, I’m going to delete the app..Version: 5.7.1

Seriously?I logged the clothes that I have and haven’t been on in a bit but I decided to check the clothes that I have. Now we have to pay for it? Are you serious? Now literally every time I click on a piece of clothing that I have, a subscription pops up, and then when I click that off, an advertisement plays. EVERY TIME. Get rid of the subscription!!!.Version: 5.10.1

Requires a subscription nowThe app required me to update to continue using and when I went back in it told me I require a subscription as I have over 100 items of clothing. Such a shame as I thought it was really good but will now be switching to an alternative app that is free..Version: 5.8.2

Pricing changes without warningI loved this app and spent months curating my closet with its help. There were some features I wished it had, but for how it helped me pare down my closet and helped me make and keep track of outfits I was willing to over look that. Then today happened…. I went to log my outfit from yesterday and figure out what to wear today and I was able to see items in my closet and small thumbnails of previous outfits, but the app lost all functionality without my spending $9.99/month. Their new lowest subscription price is $3.99 for 300 items but I have about 600 items already in the app so if I want to even get my information off of the app I’ll need to pay the higher subscription price. As a rule I don’t pay subscriptions for apps, so even though I loved this app, I’m not going to shell out $10/month for it. Maybe if there were people giving style suggestions instead of AI. I’m really mad that I can’t even access the information I spent months getting together. I can’t even get my pictures of my clothes off to be able to go over to another app. There was no warning in app that this was going to happen and I’m mad. I guess I’ll have to completely start over and re-photograph my entire wardrobe for another app…. This is ridiculous..Version: 5.7.1

Unreasonable SubscriptionGo back to free version!! Used to be my favorite, won’t be using anymore.Version: 5.8.1

Will be switching back to StylebookI used Stylebook for years before switching to this app when I wanted a change of scenery and a few different features I felt Stylebook didn’t have. It really wasn’t worth it to switch honestly, especially now that I can’t access any of my clothes in any way now that there’s a paywall. They did make users aware that the pay model would be changing, but nowhere was it mentioned you wouldn’t be able to even do something as simple as LOOK at your items. I’d understand not being able to add new items or create outfits, but you can’t even open your items up to look at them anymore. That seems a little ridiculous. I hate subscription models and will always opt for a one time fee, but honestly there’s completely free apps like Stylebook that are on par with this one. Don’t waste your time or money..Version: 5.8.1

So many hours wastedSpent hours and hours over the past few weeks photographing my closet and uploading pictures and details, pulling up old receipts to find pricing...and now it’s all lost because they’ve switched to a subscription model. I take issue with losing access to all my data with no warning. Should have known it was too good to be true. Congratulations to your shareholders on their new, predatory subscription model..Version: 5.8.2

Congrats, you guys ruined itI’m so upset with the development team. You took a great app and ruined it for everyone. At this point, there is no other closet app that has a paywall this expensive, with this many ads, and so many restrictions for free users. I’ve been a user since the beginning, I even did a focus group interview with them, I use the app daily. When the team announced they would be moving to a “freemium” model, there was major pushback, and for good reason! It seems to have gone mostly unheard, though. We all understand the need for a paywall to be able to continue expanding and growing a good app. However, they did it all wrong… The cost is extremely unreasonable and too expensive for a lot of their users. There is no way to really even use the app for free anymore, you get bombarded with ads every few seconds, so it’s pointless to even offer the option of a free user. They could have done so many other things… a lifetime membership fee, allow discounts for longtime users, or just lower the sub costs to not exile 90% of us! I really wish they had listened to their loyal users. This whole thing seems greedy and half-baked. It’s sad to watch the demise of such a wonderful app..Version: 5.8.2

Too expensive for what it isYou have to pay for a subscription to add more than 100 clothes. Not worth it. Better used your own creativity. And the AI doesn’t make great outfits. It’s always selecting clothes out of the season or pieces that don’t go together. I loved it at first, but it’s ridiculous to have to pay that much for a clothes app..Version: 5.7.1

FreemiumI invested a lot of time to scan my wardrobe (=train the acloset’s AI) only to find that now they limit it to 100 pieces for free..Version: 5.5.0

Used to be 5/5This app was amazing! However, it used to be free but now there is now an unaffordable subscription fee to even use it. You can’t access anything anymore without paying which makes it difficult to switch your clothes to another app. All of those hours spent putting clothes in and making outfits are now a waste. Don’t download this unless you’re willing to pay $40 to $150 per year depending on how many pieces you have..Version: 5.7.1

Too expensive and disappointingI got this app before they started adding ads and making people pay and it used to be the most excellent digital clothing app i ever used. But now i can no longer add anymore clothes or plan outfits on this app. Its ridiculous how they have multiple types of memberships for different amounts of saves you can have with ridiculous prices (you also have to pay monthly or yearly meaning you cant keep the membership by paying once). I spent DAYS scanning most of my clothes (i have so many clothes that i still haven’t scanned all yet) and now i can no longer use this app anymore. This app wasted so much of my time and energy and it is disappointing. Also, this app’s AI is bad at outfit recommendations because i registered so many pieces of clothing and it still recommends me the same boring fits every day. I didn't think this was a big deal when the app used to be free but now that not the case anymore, i honestly think this AI stuff isn’t worth this price. Either make this app worth its price or don’t expect users to pay. So ridiculous.Version: 5.11.2

AwfulEven with the free plan i would not use this app. the amount of ads, even just to view an item, is insane. not y’all using old reviews to advertise your subscription… 🤣.Version: 5.8.2

Very upsettingThis was my absolute favourite app and i recommended it to everyone but now it expects me to pay 40$ because i have more than 100 pieces of clothing? im so upset because i use the app everyday but im deleting it immediately. it took so long to put everything in the app so im very upset. even cried for a little bit i was so sad.Version: 5.8.2

Subscription AND adsI’ve been using this app for a long time, and I absolutely loved it. However, now there are ads, fine, whatever, but there’s also a subscription now??? I have about 200 items in my wardrobe on acloset, and now they’re telling me I have to pay to have that many? Between that and how CONSTANT the adds are, I am very disappointed and will be deleting the app and getting a different alternative. It’d be one thing if this has always been the case, but the fact that I’ve been using it for a long time without ads and restrictions and no longer can is very disappointing. I feel like there should have been an exception for users that ALREADY had more than 100 items. I’ve been a loyal user and I’m receiving no gratitude for that. I’ve told countless people about the app and said only positive things. Now I’m just disappointed. It’s just ridiculous.Version: 5.8.2

Unusable. Greedy.Loved this app until it started wanting to charge for having over 100 items of clothing. It took me so long to input all my clothing info now it’s inaccessible because I have to watch a 30 second ad to even LOOK at the item of clothing I already input.Version: 5.8.2

It’s good but not good at the same timeI just downloaded this app , i put my clothes and accessories in , and I got the ai to make an outfit but it didn’t show up any , I’m not good at making outfits I have a meltdown most the time I try so I thought this was a good idea but it’s not working , I still want to use it any tips?.Version: 4.6.1

Need to give notice before paywall!I’ve dutifully entered my entire closet into this app only to find that I can’t access the information due to a new subscription scheme- I wish we this was communicated earlier- this is a rude shock.Version: 5.8.1

Subscription ruined the appIt used to be so good but now the subscription ruined it. I would rather pay a fee to use the app once and not a subscription. It is over $100 a year. That’s unreasonable.Version: 5.9.0

Immediately crashes when I open itJust installed and has been re installed multiple times still same problem.Version: 2.2.0

A shame…I used to love this app! And just like that you have to pay and it’s full of adds! Don’t download at least you want to pay a plan… I’m sooo desappointed 👎😩.Version: 5.8.2

New subscription cost far too expensive! This is a great app, but there is absolutely no way it is worth the new fees. I would be willing to pay, but not this much, it is unbelievable! Since the subscription charge came in I am trying to reduce the number of items in my digital wardrobe, in order to qualify for free use, but I am unable to access it to even delete my things, which seems very unfair of the developers. For me to use the app to qualify for a cheaper or free subscription, I would have to pay the highest subscription just to enable me to delete my stuff! There is no customer support available to question this. I cannot imagine anybody paying the ridiculous price being asked for this app. What on earth are they thinking?.Version: 5.8.2

HeartbrokenI’ve been using this app for years. I’ve been saving all of my ootds for years. I have over 300 pieces added to my wardrobe. I literally need this app in order to function properly because I’m a perfectionist and get really bad panic attacks when I can’t find an outfit or remember what I wore the week before. (Sounds stupid ik but I can’t control it so I just find ways to work around it, like using Acloset) I have so many clothes that I can hardly remember what’s where in my room and what material that one shirt is or what size I get from that one brand etc… This app solved all of my problems and it was student friendly (free) Now with no warning they’re asking me for $120 or I can’t use any of my features. I can’t upload any more clothes or save any recent outfits. I can hardly afford cost of living let alone $120 for an app!!!! I understand that the developers need to pay rent too but $120 just to be able to use a closet app for a year? And with absolutely no warning that the features would soon be locked behind a pay wall! And yes there’s a cheaper plan but that one just cuts out two thirds of my closet! TLDR: They want an absurd amount of money for a closet app subscription and have stopped me from using pretty much every feature even though it’s been fine for years. -@Maddy.Version: 5.7.1

Now you have to pay????Since they made it subscription based it’s significantly degraded in usability. Super unfriendly.Version: 5.7.1

Used to be so good, now expensive and unusableI invested so many hours into this app and it used to be such a lifesaver for me. The UI is good and usually the updates are great improvements, so I absolutely would be willing to pay a onetime fee or pay to expand my closet every 100 items or so, but the subscription is incredibly expensive. I don’t like paying subscriptions on principle (since they tie you into an endless payment cycle), but having to pay so much for an app that works using my data and labor is ridiculous. How are you asking me to pay so much money to do work? Based on their website, it seems like the developers got tons of venture capital money to create the app and are now at the stage where it needs to become profitable for the investors (think of what happened to Uber or netflix), and they’re justifying the cost by saying it’s needed to pay for the server space for our data. However I don’t believe that ~300 images and some tags requires $40 worth of storage per year (more than my much larger iCloud storage), so I believe the real reason is profit and to develop the AI. I’d personally rather the developers ditch the AI feature to reduce the cost, since it is far from being a useful feature, and figure out another way to pay the investors through a mix of much lighter ad use, one time fees for closet expansion, and even sharing user data on fashion and consumption trends if we give permission. Hope they figure themselves out because, while I loved this app, it doesn’t seem like it offers enough unique value to keep most users from flooding to the competition..Version: 5.10.1

Hate the subscription modelLoved this app so much, now all of a sudden it’s non functional without subscribing for $6 a month since i have over 100 items of clothing in my closet. I can’t view my items anymore, I can’t even delete items I had archived to bring my total down below 100. just completely useless out of nowhere. so disappointed..Version: 5.7.1

Pay wallUsed to be great. Now you have to pay a ridiculous price to get the bare minimum.Version: 5.7.1

Good app but stats needs to improveNo major complaint on UI/graphic, indeed very easy to use. Stats is a little hidden though, it could be more accessible. Utilisation stats is good but it doesn’t show the timeframe - e.g. 100% utilisation rate can be achieved but would be meaningless if only say 30% has been worn for the past year. This missing aspect actually is what would help people utilise their wardrobe better..Version: 4.3.1

Paid subscription required to useBait and switch. This app will require a paid subscription to add more than 100 items, even though according to the developer’s own data, the average user has 118+ items logged. The subscription will cost up to $24.99 per month. The AI feature is also not useful and frequently suggests mismatched outfits (like bike shorts with winter parkas or formal dresses with sneakers). The developers do not respond to inquiries or feedback, and it’s clear with the addition of the in-app marketplace, ads, and subscription model that their priority is to take advantage of less tech savvy users for profit, and not to improve the app..Version: 5.5.1

DisappointedIf I had known down the road that it would be subscription based then I never would have spent the time and energy uploading all my clothes onto the app. Not only do I think it’s unfair but the subscription prices are way too high for the product that they are offering. Especially when the AI component never provided wearable outfits without manual input everything. I hope they do the right thing and honor the time that a lot of people had already put in..Version: 5.8.2

Heartbroken and disappointedI’m so disappointed with the ads and subscription model. I spent so many hours inputting my data and using the app, only to have to delete it and find another one..Version: 5.11.2

Fun while it lasted, then they added a paywallAll the recent low reviews are TRUE! This was the best closet app I’d found until they updated to a “freemium” subscription model. Now you have to pay unless you have less than 100 items uploaded into your closet. Have more than 100 items? Now since the new update, they’re all locked and you can’t view them until you either delete enough to get below 100 or pay the ridiculous subscription fees. Almost $300 PER YEAR for unlimited closet items if you’re a new user, or if you’re already an existing user, you get a “discount” of $119 per year. Just know that there are other apps out there that give you similar functions and unlimited items for a one-time MUCH cheaper price. Lots of users have been locked out of many hours worth of uploaded items. I understand the developers need funds to work on the app but this was executed terribly, and I don’t doubt they’ll lose a ton of users because of it..Version: 5.7.1

Was great, now corporate..First time using it in a while and every time I click on something it tells me to subscribe and shows an ad!? Apparently it’s put some pay limit on how many clothes you can load into the app and since it didn’t before, I’m over it. Stupid, basically makes this app worthless now unless you want to pay a bajillion dollars to use it. Oh, here’s a fun sentence from my old review: “I love that it’s completely free; no ads, no begging for money, no “premium” features.”.Version: 5.10.1

Great style appUpdate: took teo stars off because I start to see adds everywhere. And when I click on an outfit, ads pop up instead of my outfit. I hope it is not going to get crazy because I just started to use and liked the app. I used tone style app before and gave up due to the inconvenience of its functions. I recently found this app after testing it for a couple of days for an upcoming trip. I’m falling in love with it.! I love the AI analysis to help me enter product information instead of manually entering them. I also like it that the app removes the background and the resize everything to be a similar size which makes the closet look very neat! Additionally, it’s so easy to make changes to the items or the outfit ideas! You girls know how important that is because how often we change our mind! I look forward to using it very often in the future!.Version: 5.8.2

Very helpful, but can be made more international friendlyI downloaded this app because I'm absolutely useless when it comes to fashion, clothing and mixing up my wardrobe. So far I'm really enjoying it, however I don't like the categories that the clothing is put in. I live in the UK, and all of the categories are clearly American based, for example, what Americans call camis, we call vests. What they call vests, we call waistcoats. I'd never heard of a "trucker jacket" before, turns out it's a demin jacket. This just makes my wardrobe choices more confusing than they need to be. What would be useful is if you could add a category name yourself, such as you can for brands. I'm not going to use this app to create outfits, as they just look weird, but it's very useful to know what I have, when I bought it, etc. With some minor improvement, it could become my favourite app..Version: 3.9.0

NewbieDue to phone change and not getting all my data I found myself looking for new wardrobe app - free! Found Caldwell and was looking good, but no trousers/skirt/shorts category which is bazaar? Really liked how it takes info from photo and sorts everything.Version: 3.10.7

Super disappointed with the new updatesI have been using this app for the past two years and it has been a life saver. I have a large collection of clothes, shoes and accessories that I have trouble keeping track of. Especially with the amount of times I have moved. With these new updates I can’t log any more items. The subscription costs to add more closet space is outrageous and extremely disappointing. Unfortunately you have lost a user and I will be trying a new app..Version: 5.9.0

Ugh….This app used to be FREE but not only is it NOT that way anymore, they now have crapload of advertisements to boot. Monthly fees are outrageous. Why not offer patrons a lifetime membership? You’re going to rake in the money anyways 😤. Over 2 million people use this app… and of course the creators should make $ from it but this is ridiculous. 🤬.Version: 5.8.2

Potential to improveSo far I really like the app. It does a great job of removing the background from photos and allowing you to edit the pictures. My main frustration is the lack of options for labeling items. There are currently only preset options for Occasions and Item Info. This app would be 10x improved if it let you add custom labels for each section. That way I can organize items by my own terms, for example I never use the “School” or “Travel” options but would love a “Casual” label or the ability to remove those I don’t use. Other than that small thing, I think the app is mostly great. I like the style stats and the create an outfit options and calendar. I think they could take a step back on the secondhand/preloved sections, it takes up a lot of the app’s functionality but isn’t at all what I’m using it for. It’s a nice extra but more time could be spent improving the organizing and sorting parts of the closet..Version: 4.7.0

A wee bit ‘spensive, my guyAs others have said, this app was 5 stars before the large paywall they stuck to it. For the record, I’ve been using this app every day for about 5 months, and I never saw the pop-up that supposedly warned against the impending move to a subscription model. Regardless, I’m disappointed. While I understand that the devs need to make money from their work, the prices are ghastly-especially compared to other similar apps on the platform who only charge a significantly smaller, one-time fee. Frankly, I’m hesitant to pay anything at all to play dress-up with my own closet. Coming back to this a week later since the update, I’ve also noticed that banner ads have been added… if money was an issue, why wasn’t this added beforehand? Needless to say, I probably won’t be coming back to this app in any significant regard until they remove the subscription fees and move onto a purely ad-based revenue model or a small one-time fee. This app was so good that I wouldn’t mind a one-time purchase, but $120 a year (which is supposedly already discounted) is too steep, personally..Version: 5.8.1

Uses unedited version of camera roll picturesI took some pictures of my clothes to add to this app, but my feet were in the bottom of the picture as I was standing above my clothes to take the picture. The app picked up on the socks I was wearing and had those show at the bottom of the picture when it scans the clothes and removes the background. I then edited all my pictures in my camera roll to crop my feet out, but the app uses the unedited version still which I don’t understand. How can it use the original picture from my camera roll when it had been edited to crop things out? This is really strange and extremely annoying. I don’t even know how that is allowed as it bypassing my camera roll that I have edited to use the original version which isn’t even part of my camera roll anymore. Very dodgy..Version: 4.9.1

Exploiting UsersI spent years loving this app, countless hours and effort put into it just for them to start charging outrageous subscription costs. You can’t even access what you already put into the app without paying. I used to recommend this to literally everyone, even random people that I’d meet but now I hope the app crumbles..Version: 5.7.1

No accessOriginally a pretty good app that allows you to create your virtual closet pretty seamlessly. The AI generated outfits are ridiculous though, so don’t bother with that. Also their market where users can sell goods are kind of useless. Most importantly, there’s been a recent upgrade where there are tiered charges. The free app only allows 100 items. But if you currently have more than that amount, you can’t even delete your items because every time you click an item, the subscription page pops up. So if you want to use the free app and limit your number of items to 100, you can’t even do that. Longtime users are basically stuck unless you delete your account and start over or pay. The user’s photos along with the time and commitment to creating a virtual closet gone to waste. What a pity..Version: 5.7.1

Could be good but it’s just not there…I saw this app on YouTube and since I am useless at putting outfits together I thought I would give it a go. It’s very time consuming to add all your clothes into the app however I actually think this is fine as it gives you a full library of your outfit choices. What I don’t like it that the AI doesn’t seem very sophisticated at all. It just seems to throw random outfits together and hope that it works based on the selections you make when adding items into the app. Some examples - it’s tried to pair an evening dress with an activewear fleece and Ugg boots. It’s also decided that I should wear 3 different hoodies at once with jeans and a pair of high heels??? There doesn’t seem to be any algorithm behind it. Also you are able to state that some items don’t go together (a smart jacket with a pair of sports leggings) however it doesn’t seem to actually do anything as when I rotated the options a few more times it did exactly the same thing. I even quit the app and went back in to see if that refreshed things but sadly no, it continued to make completely bizarre suggestions including ones I had already provided feedback on. I think this would be fine if it learned by your feedback or even made some kind of sense but suggesting numerous of the same item to be worn or not actually paying attention to the categories selected (formal with casual) it just feels like a wardrobe randomiser which really defeats the purpose of this app. I think it’s a really cool idea and I would love to see it progress into something great but at the moment I just don’t think it I does what it says it will..Version: 4.9.1

Moved over to StylebookWas using this daily til without warning the price went from free to $45 AUD a year. I’ve moved over to Stylebook which is the same thing but with a one off payment of $7. Would have liked a warning that this would happen however it was inevitable given that it was a free app..Version: 5.8.1

Creators still don’t understand their usersThis used to be a great wardrobe companion app, to log daily outfits and create your own styles (the AI outfit generator has never really nailed it) Unfortunately, the creators felt they had built a solid core user base and felt that we’d pay big bucks to keep it in our life. Dollar signs clouded their vision and even after ‘listening’ to the deluge of disappointed and frustrated customers, and acknowledging the new advertising and fee based features were ‘a step too far’, any trust and loyalty has been shattered. Even with the free 100 items, you still have to wait through a 14 second advert to log your outfit of the day. Your 100 items are still broken up with a ton of ugly and irrelevant adverts. Creators: You just killed a fabulous app by breaking the golden rule…you don’t understand your customers. I will probably delete this app completely now as I have no joy left using it…bad business decision..Version: 5.9.0

Subscription ruined the appI’d much rather they just introduce ads with an option to pay to remove them. There is no need to charge people for items after years of being free, a one time fee to use the app freely or subscription for ad free would be much more reasonable and until this payment system changes I won’t be using the app any longer. Sad because it used to be my favourite app..Version: 5.7.1

Now subscriptionWas amazing and the best app I’ve used for over the past year. Spent time uploading over 900 items (when it was free) Now its a subscription plan and all the outfits I’ve made & documented for the past year I cannot access. I am deeply disappointed..Version: 5.8.1

New update= Acloset or ADcloset?I have been a loyal Acloset user for YEARS and suddenly after the new update I can’t even navigate the app without a million ads popping up or being asked to subscribe to an EXPENSIVE subscription… I’m so sad I really loved this app but I will definitely be switching over to another platform that’s ad free (or less) and more cost friendly!.Version: 5.8.2

No longer free with too many adsDisappointed with the changes made in January 2024.Version: 5.8.2

NOT FREE, NO EXPORT, & BAD BUSINESS PRACTICESEdit: no I didn't receive pop up warnings the developer claims. I use this app nearly every day I would have noticed. a discount isn't enough. Export should be free. It's a data justice issue. I've been using this app for six months and suddenly it tells me I need to subscribe to a payment plan? This product is a utility. it feels really unfair to suddenly have the expectations of a free app turned on me suddenly. I've literally spent months building out my closet and recommended this app to many other people. Yeah, never again. You should have let people who were active users be grandfathered in to getting the free plan instead of immediately losing them. I didn't see any announcement before hand. I should be able to export everything more easily automatically if needed, my data is being held hostage. The fact I can't view anything at all anymore to manually export is incredibly frustrating. These are really unfair business tactics that clearly don't care about their users..Version: 5.7.1

This app WAS amazing! This was such a good app until they decided to turn it into a subscription. I don’t mind paying for things, I get it, people have to earn a living, but $40 for just the basics is a bit of an overreach..Version: 5.11.2

Not free & cant access wardrobeI spent hours using this app and it was great until their new update. You’re not allowed more than 100 pieces and until I delete some they won’t even let me access the clothing. You can’t plan or log outfits and it’s essentially become useless. I’m not paying a monthly subscription to access something I had for free before.Version: 5.7.1

New subscription ruins accessibility of this appSO disappointed and annoyed - not sure how much i can use this app after this recent update. I just updated because i had to (it doesn’t allow using app without update), and now i essentially have to pay subscription to use the app. you can no longer have more than 100 clothing items registered in your app, and otherwise have to pay. i have gone through the long painful process of taking a picture of every single clothing item i have, uploading them to acloset, marking the colour/season/price/etc, and marking my outfits everyday for the last 6 months - and now i have to PAY to get most of the main purposes of this app: i.e. knowing how much of your wardrobe you’re utilising, and being able to note down each clothing piece you’ve used for the OOTD calendar (my main use). and 20-second ads run every time you want to click on just ONE of your clothing items to view them - it’s pathetic. totally totally disappointing and such a waste of my time. despite the amount of time i’ve spent on this app, the regular payment subscription is making me move to other apps that will do the same job..Version: 5.8.2

Was greatHad this app For years to then got to create outfit to find out you now have to pay! No chance.Version: 5.8.2

Really Nice App But I’ve Got A Few IssuesI am enjoying this app so far. I have a lot of clothes and this helps me keep track without having to dig through my closet. However, I don’t like how the AI combines outfits. I will mark certain clothes for certain categories but it feels that the AI doesn’t take this into account. It will pair a dress shirt that I put under “work” with sweatpants that I put under “sports”. Then when I report the outfit as “mismatched” it will show me the outfit combo again. Addition Comment After Further Use: Why is a pull-over hoodie considered a “top” but a zip-up hoodie is considered “outerwear”? Then the AI tries to make me wear a pull-over hoodie and zip-up hoodie in the same suggested outfit..Version: 3.10.7

Terrible — massive betrayalDear Acloset team, I’ve been using your app for over a year and thought it was amazing. You have an awesome product. But a subscription model for something like this, particularly at the price you’re setting, is honestly just ridiculous and the way you’re implementing it is rather predatory. I didn’t love the thought of the in-app ads, but I would have lived with it because I get that you need a source of revenue. I would have been happy to pay up to $15 to remove ads permanently. I would still be willing to pay a one-time fee of UP TO $35 for an ad-free, unlimited option. I personally think that’s a ridiculous amount for an app, but I’d do it because I do love your features. If you ever implement this, I would love to hear about it. But as is, I’m leaving your app and finding an alternative..Version: 5.8.2

I cant get it to loadWhen i open the app it does open and it works fine until i press the "Start Building My Virtual Closet" button, then it just doesn't load and i waited for like 1+ hours elp me pls.Version: 0.9.2

Subscription out of nowhereI used to love this app, I would use it every day. Suddenly a subscription fee has been introduced that no longer lets you have over 100 items in the free version. The app has become totally useless to me now, I can’t even view any items to delete them from my closet and bring the number down. Disappointing. If there was a subscription fee from the start I might have been happy to pay it but absolutely not after this, I will be deleting the app..Version: 5.8.1
