✓ Turns too longThe online duels take way too long. You’re either beaten by a 4000+ attack card which has taken 7 minutes to summon with chains on the first turn or you surrender because you’re bored and can’t get a card on the field. The ranked match system needs to be based on deck power not just level, very difficult to improve with opponents who have far superior decks. I enjoyed the game initially but I have lost all confidence in my decks..Version: 1.0.2
✓ The best online Yu-Gi-Oh! experience is held-back by its rootsAs a veteran fan of the manga, anime, and TCG, I love Master Duel. It's the most polished and engaging online Yu-Gi-Oh! experience available with a realistic path to build your deck, buy or craft new cards, and participate in duels (casual or competitive) and events without spending any money. While I was overwhelmed with the new summoning mechanics (mainly pendulum and link) in the current format, the Solo mode does a good job of explaining them and letting you figure them out yourself in fun practice duels. I think that the biggest limitation of Master Duel is the difficult problem of balancing an old and evolving game with a diverse player base. Modern Yu-Gi-Oh! is a very different game to the days of Duel Monsters or GX. It's fast, synergistic, and combo-heavy: many games are decided in the first two turns. "Old School" Yu-Gi-Oh! was slower and more approachable, but the depth was in the battle of attrition. Much like RuneScape, both are fun and worth a try, and both have their own issues and unique selling points. Instead of a whole new game, recognising and creating a dedicated space for the legacy card base would open the excellent Master Duel experience to an enormous veteran audience. ✓ Battle timer and special summoning is ridiculousIt was fun until I decided to play some online matches. Every game is the same, someone in their first turn will go through half of their deck taking what feels like 5 minutes summoning crazy monsters before I’ve even had a turn. ✓ Poorly run game. No effort put in to it.Master duel is a format which needs a lot of work done to make a good format. They have done a better but still very low effort job to get rid of some problem cards while letting others just stay. I think yugioh has gotten pretty far away from good design philosophy with single cards shutting out entire styles of play. And other cards that I can only believe were designed to frustrate players. No game where someone resolves maxx c and wins because of it feels like that player did anything important to win the game. Yugioh already has rng in the hand and coinflip and that can make a lot of the game interesting but having another layer of did you open maxx c? No. Did I open maxx c. Yes. Did you open an out? No. Just does not make the same level of interest as attempting to build consistent decks or decks that can go second. ✓ Whales and turn timesIf you love watching yourself get obliterated, then this is the game for you. Really cool card game but the amount of people with OTK decks is amazing. Turn times are also kinda long. Be prepared to wait 2-3 minutes to lose on turn 1..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Konami you are garbage.Imagine having a game so broken it’s unplayable and not addressing it for months or ever. The game of Yu-Gi-Oh is so unbalanced ridiculous garbage it’s the least fun thing to play I’ve ever wasted time on. it literally never fails that the opponent has Maxx c, called from the grave, and Ash Blossom every game every hand every single turn, any time they need it. prepare to endlessly run into these stupid link players playing this trash adventure token synchro deck they’re so broken it’s a joke. You wait for your turn for 10 minutes and then can’t play a single card because all they have are negates. they can summon off 20 cards and end turn with five cards in their hand it’s a joke. how to play Yu-Gi-Oh: waste 10 minutes of your life, press the surrender button. your unlimited hand traps, and all these link decks (which by the way are all almost exactly the same and super stupid) absolutely ruined this game. ✓ Exceptional App However…Firstly my rating isn’t based on the app its based on the game of Yu Gi Oh itself and how the app deals with it. I saw this app and immediately brought back memories of the original anime and of course the OG Forbidden Memories so from that it’s easy to tell I’ve not kept up with Yugi since then. The duelling has progressed so far since the anime that it’s very difficult to come in this late to the game with the knowledge of how the game used to be. Pendulum, Xyz and the multitude of monsters, magic and trap cards is extremely overwhelming and I feel the app does very little to address this even though there is a tutorial it tells you how to do these new systems but you get no help in building a deck how you want it and there’s no offline practice duelling (that I’ve found anyway) to experiment with different deck builds. There only seems to be online casual and ranked duels which even in the casual rooms there’s no room for experimenting as you just get stomped straightaway or (well I do) you get bored waiting for your opponent to summon, chain, special summon and send multiple cards left right and centre. So overall the app mechanics are very good however with how the duelling system has evolved over the years it deals with noobs like myself very poorly and you need a tonne of background knowledge in the modern game to do well in this.Version: 1.2.0
✓ Ruined yugihoThe app works fine my big issue with the game is some of the stupid decks that were added. I used to love this card game as a kid and now they’ve way over complicated it. My deck in this game was simple but effective, but it doesn’t come close to these stupid decks that make it to where someone can play 20 different cards in one turn. I place my 2-3 cards down and end my turn and then I have to wait 10 mins for my opponent to play 20 different cards and summon 5 monsters to the field... it’s stupid, great way to ruin a simple fun game yugiho. Not only that but these decks also seem to have a card for every situation, you place some traps down to help aid your win and they have something to destroy all your traps and spells, you summon a stronger monster then them oh wait they destroyed a card 4 turns ago that destroys your monster as soon as you try to attack. The new decks have made it to where the old cards and decks are just completely useless. This isn’t even the same game anymore and if I wanted to play something confusing and different from yugiho then I woulda picked up magic the gathering..Version: 1.4.2

✓ It’s not fun for a new player that loved the original anime.It’s good if you want to compete and grind out some wins by always reconfiguring multiple decks, but for casual players who just want to sit down and play AND enjoy the game it’s not a good game. I prefer to be able to sit down and enjoy the game, and other times I do want to compete and grind out a win, but to ALWAYS have to sit down and competitively play gets annoying fast whether it’s solo or online dueling. If there’s a more casual way to play for a more casual player I’ll give this game a better review, but until then I can’t. For the online games, those are way more fun because of the originality of a lot decks I’ve come across but there’s too many that just take three total turns to end the duel. Same can be said for the Solo Gates mode. It’s not fun when you can’t play and it’s not fun when you’re facing three 3000+ monsters and can’t summon anything because of some effects these newer cards have..Version: 1.4.2
✓ The battle timer is awfully longPeople online really like to take their sweet time making their moves. I end up surrendering because I can no longer be bothered waiting for them. You really need to reduce the timer Also I don’t understand how the people I dual online are able to do all this crazy stuff on their first 2 turns. ✓ Why did you do this?My comment is just I’m speechless, except not actually. This review is bad but it’s not based off the actual app itself which works pretty well. This game used to be really fun and challenging and took thought to play and have a good time. Now starting a duel and having the other person have the first turn with 5 cards and somehow play 9 different monsters on the field all in one turn to all be some how fused all together into 3 different monsters 2400 + with no other cards traps or spell cards played. It’s just like what is this you can’t even play with a deck that has original cards in it because this is pretty much just an online game against other real people who all like to play this way for some reason. Why did you guys ruin this game like this? it used to be really fun and now it’s over in one turn it’s not even a game it’s just who can be a bigger clown and find a away to complete the duel the fastest. Why do you need to be able to play 9 different cars in a turn when the original is just one besides when very few other cards let you do more then one sometimes. ✓ Konami’s Biggest Screw UpFor anyone who plays master duel, knows that it takes no skill to be the best anymore. while konami did an amazing job building up the game in terms of being a free game that was constructed beautifully, master duel is flawed for these two reasons. one, they have their own banlist separate from TCG/OCG, and it’s by far the worst of the 3 platforms. and two, master duel encourages players to use a meta that they only keep around until they release a new one, and that meta gets banned all around the next month. the worst part is players are allowed to copy other decks so by all means someone has a better deck, just use theirs and climb your way up the ranks. the fun aspect of yugioh was to build your own deck that was from your heart, hence the heart of the cards. yet instead. all everyone wants to do is use the one archetypes that’s winning. you could say “hate the game not the player” but the community is just as bad for falling victim of this scheme. overall, a fun game with your friends, but the game needs to be reformed if you truly want to compete for being the best deck builder..Version: 1.6.1

✓ Very poor qualityIt pains me to give such low mark because i am a big yu-gi-oh fan, but the game is built on a high tech user interface with such poor graphic quality card game experience, it is actually worse than the very old pc version. You cannot even see the graphics on the cards which were beautiful btw and it were big part of the game’s original charm. Even after painstakingly downloading 2g, it didn’t get any better. ✓ A literal waste of time and boringEach turn is 5 minutes with an increasing clock. However every turn takes almost 5 minutes and it just gets boring. Since you’re literally just sitting there waiting for the other player to make a move. It’s so bad that if someone told me this was a single player game I would believe it. I have never wait this long go play one move. Then there is the balance issues. You literally can’t play games since it’s a one turn move where someone tries to wipe you out in a single move. Nothing else happens and it’s not like it was a high ranking battle. It was the first beginner level match. The only time the game is worth even playing is if you play with friends, but why bother using Master Duel then when there are better options to play against a friend. ✓ Card effects don’t work, turn timer is too longI’ve always loved Yu-gi-oh and was so excited to play master duel, but it’s a drag. Each turn has an 8 minute timer which is far too much time and drags out the duels far to long. On top of that, card effects like Blue Eyes Abyss Dragon aren’t working at all, it might as well be a normal monster. ✓ Worst gameI have been a fan of yu gi oh anime for a long time but never had a chance of playing tcg but few months ago i found out about this game and played it. Well i will say i am quite average player since my second month of playing I was in master 2 and never quit got to master 1. But the thing is that this game sucks all the flood gates you go up against not to mention runick cards with flood gates just sucks. And these people in konami have no balls to ban these cards. Because then they have to refund UR dust and it is bad for their business. All the barrier statue cards just makes no sense in this game. These makes you not play this game. And all the other cards like inspector border. This dude dont need to be 2000 attack. Also puppet lock your opponent is so fun to play against. ✓ Made for experts, not beginnersI was going to write a more detailed review, but my previous one was lost, so I’ll just say that this game is not the place to look for a “traditional” yugioh experience. Duel Links or Cross Duel are better options for that. This game is for veteran yugioh players who want to challenge their deck building skills. The game itself is okay, but it has a cruel and expensive deck building meta, and gems are far too tedious to grind. Duels can take over 20 minutes if you have a difficult opponent. Not to mention the game will make it its personal mission to give you every SR and UR besides the ones you need. Some of these really annoying things can be offset by using some strategy and brainpower, but overall the game mostly feels like a chore to play. The game is functional, I won’t give it much more than that though. Take these things into consideration before downloading this game and if you do, pick the archetype of your first real deck very carefully. ✓ Incredibly unbalancedIf you win or lose too many times on the first or second turn, then there is definitely something broken in your game. Yu gi oh use to be fun! Now, one match is simply sitting back on your first or second turn watching either player do ridiculous moves for min before winning the game. ✓ EhhhhhNot that this review will ever be read, most never are; however, This game is everything I’ve ever looked for in a yugioh game minus a few key points. Gouging for money in this game is insane, I’ve reached a point where building decks is going to cost real world money, and I’m not doing that when I have the real cards, that would be the dumbest thing I could do. No rewards for ranked placement is absurd, literally every other game in the world has rewards and without them, it feels like a casual duel for a cool sticker that tells your friends you’re good at a trading card game. While on the topic of TRADING card games, when is the last time a major yugioh title had cross player trading in it? That doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense considering the game is called a trading card game. Lastly, GOD THAT MATCH SPEED. You’re telling me I can load in to a massive map in the middle of a dessert and shoot a bunch of bad guys on call of duty at 120 frames flawlessly but I get on yugioh on my PS5 and the match lag is so absurd it’s insane on us taking turns placing 2D cards on a field? That’s actually embarrassing. I sit there for thirty minutes for my opponent to make his moves. (Before all you yugioh buffs go crying about how that’s just card effects and whatnot, I’ve won regional yugioh events multiple times, I understand turns take awhile, this is way to long.) good game, needs so much work..Version: 1.3.2
✓ The Biggest ProblemGet rid of tearlaments. They’re borderline unbeatable and they just make the game unplayable since everyone and their mother seems to use them. At least sprights and branded have some level of counter play but tears are just stupidly OP, there’s a reason why they’re banned in almost every other version of the game. Don’t get me wrong, there are some really powerful decks out there but nothing that I’ve seen can counter tear consistently. It’s getting to the point where I encounter them and instantly quit because “duelling” them is just a waste of time. Check the top ranked decks on your system I guarantee they’re all tear. ✓ Don’t play unless it’s just with friends if you’re casualYugioh has become a first turn win in most cases after reaching gold rank. Most people either copy each other or watch streamers on how to play what’s considered to be the best decks in the game , there’s absolutely no variety when you fight the same 5 decks Dryton for herald , tri brigade for borrelsword and appolusia , summoning numerons for what seems to be at almost no cost , king of all calamities , some rank 12 that wipes the field on your turn and of course Eldlich the deck with only 3 monsters but almost every trap card with its name brings it to the hand or the field so it’s super consistent If you’re casual like me you will have a very bad time Since you won’t have a full half hour to sit there and watch your opponents combo while reading every card that passes by I’ve always liked yugioh as a kid and that’s why I played , but screw this I’ll just stick to playing against my friends and that’s the only reason why I’m not deleting it.Version: 1.0.2

Special summoning 3 four star cards on first turn or a 7 star on the first go really makes it fun and enjoyable(don’t forget the spell cards if you kill it with a trap card. It will be back in a second) . Ps. Just disconnect when it’s your opponents turn and make them wait 8mins before the game does something. ✓ A game ruined by users and no action from the creatorI was excited about this game until I started playing… I had 8 duels and 6 of those I didn’t even get to make a move, seems like everyone has Exodia and all the cards needed to fully summon Exodia without having to end your turn… which means game over… the game has several other exploits which basically make it unplayable sadly. If you want to waste your time waiting for some child to finish piecing his Exodia together or maybe one of the Machine combos that double ATK per card in the Graveyard, go ahead. ✓ Not beginner friendly at allSo I would imagine this is good if you know what you’re doing as there’s customisation, additional decks etc. Unfortunately I am not one of those people. I got taught how to play it a good few years ago when a colleague brought in some decks to help pass a night shift, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to try it again although it’s been so long now I don’t really remember it. I don’t think the tutorial is overly good at explaining things. Theres duels as part of those, but would be beneficial to have just a random duel single player mode where you could set the difficulty rather than having to either repeat as part of the tutorials or go through tutorials/storys to unlock it. The online play I assumed it would maybe pair you with someone your level/similar basic deck/have a beginner room or something but no, it’s pretty much me getting absolutely destroyed by pros 99.9% of the time throwing out a whole load of cards whilst I have no idea what’s going on or how they’re doing it! It would be nice if the interface was maybe a bit more straightforward or the option to make it a bit more basic or something too. It feels over complicated at times and to be honest I’d be happy with a simple visual rather than the battle ground and the ability to use my phone vertically. Please make more beginner friendly options so I can enjoy this card game again rather than getting fed up of being torn apart over and over!.Version: 1.7.3

✓ Play literally any other card game instead of this.I have never played a card or video game with this level of broken balancing. I played this game for several hours and tried out several decks. The tutorial and solo stuff was pretty good but once we got to actual pvp/online battles it just turned into a nosedive. First, servers were abysmal. I don’t know if it was just me but most games I played my opponent would be disconnected and I would win automatically without even being able to play the game. When I actually did get a match that worked 9 times out of 10 my opponent would have several 3000+ attack monsters on their side of the field by the end of their first turn. I had an opponent who literally spent 5 minutes summoning and pulling off whatever build his deck had to kill me by turn two, something I quite literally cannot do anything about. This game has absolutely zero balance and will never be balanced due to the massive amount of bloat and power creep. If you want to slough through to the point where you can also have a 1 turn game ending deck then you do you, but literally any other card game would be a better investment than this one. I recommend hearthstone, the league of legends one, Horus heresy, or practically any game where your opponent cannot one shot you on their first turn thereby preventing you from actually playing the game..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Single player good, Multiplayer terrible.Game is infested by players who purposely want to make you leave out of boredom. Timer is very easily manipulated. Most players use decks they don’t understand so they can take up to 5 minutes to finish their turn, sometimes longer with easy timer manipulation. ✓ I want to like this game but…..As a long time Yugioh fan I find this game to be fascinating. The problem is that their doesn’t appear to be any more Yugioh spirited players, just players who prefer (and have the money) to use otk, complete shut down meta decks that make the game last 1-3 turns and practically take almost 5-15 minutes on one turn. Maybe more. I get it some want to play that way, but either have a limit when it come to time on a turn or have a complete separate mode where people can play non competitively and enjoy this game. They may still pay to get the stuff they want through paying. But plz have room for everyone else who just want to enjoy this game even on a competitive setting. And not feel like they stand no chance in less than one turn or are forced to participate in using the same exact meta deck to even have a chance. ✓ Slow gameplay, has a major glitchHonestly, i start a duel and i’m sitting there for a good 5 minute waiting for the opponent to finish his move summoning and special summoning 10 different monsters just to get his bad boy XYZ monsters on. Oh, lets not forget Number 59: The Crooked Cook. It’s effect is “while you control no other card on the field, this card is unaffected by other cards’ effect”. In this game, it is glitched so it is also “unaffected by battle” or “cannot be destroyed by battle”. I played a guy who had this card in defence and all we did was draw and discard for 20 minutes until he got his Exodia. Fun fun fun. Major downgrade from Duel Links which is a 6 out of 5 stars..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Terrible GameplayThe first match wasn’t too bad (mainly cuz I won) but once I tried rank out I lost interest completely. It dosent matter what you choose, second or first, you’re opponent is going to special summon the 5 strongest monsters they bought from the store (not vanilla decks) and have 5 spells and traps behind waiting to either summon another monster or destroy yours. Also opponents like this take a very long time just stack the field and beat you within a couple turns. Worst part is is you have to either pay to win or wait a couple months to get enough in game currency to be on the same level as everyone else or you’ll suffer a loss every single time you play ranked. It’s honestly really boring too, you wait for like 10 minutes to lose because you have bad cards and you can’t get good cards because you lose every match. Even if I put the time into getting better cards I still think this game would be very fun..Version: 1.4.2
✓ Yugioh the way it was meant to be playedI’ve played several video games and previous apps regarding the game I’ve known since I was a child. But this game managed to cover EVERYTHING* Yugioh is, the good things and flaws alike. I am truly mesmerized by how much love and attention this game as gotten, both from developers and players alike! It has reignited my love for this franchise a million times over, and I will always remember that! *Having said that, there was one feature in a previous game that I hope will come in Master Duel some day. World Championship 2007 had a feature called “Recipe Duel” where you could fight against the decks you made and see how strong they truly were. I hope you can make that feature available for us down the road. EDIT: Also, could you give options for different soundtracks that we can customize to our liking. I loved the winning soundtrack in Duel Generations for instance and would love to hear that again. Even the ones from World Championship 2007 were good as well. EDIT 2: also, adding duel puzzles from previous games would be a nice feature to have as well. EDIT 3: not a critique on the app, but I have deleted it because it felt more like a chore when playing rather than a game. Make this more like a game. ✓ Needs more solo play optionThis game is OK. It looks and plays great but ranked matches are an absolute bore since 90% of your opponents will have perfectly curated decks literally even at the lowest ranks even if you started the game 5 minutes ago. To add insult to injury the game ENCOURAGES players to be toxic by activating as many traps, spells, effects as possible through rewards which results in matches taking wayyyyy too long to the point you just want to surrender which only results in you being penalized by being given ZERO rewards. The game does have a solo option but it’s mediocre at best. There are only a few options and you’re either forced to use a custom deck or battle incredibly weak builds. The game should absolutely reward you the same or add more perks for playing solo. As a newbie playing ranked is too soul crushing, time consuming, and unbalanced. ✓ Link cards?The games great, deck building could do with being a bit less all over, but my biggest concern is this link mess? Can old style games and new style not be split? Watching someone cycle through half their deck on the first turn whilst you barely figure out which ways up before getting hammered by turn 3 is a joke for people that like to play for how it used to be. ✓ BotsThere are players who use automatic bots during duels. These bots don’t do anything, so when it’s their turn you end up waiting for an eternity. You either wait until their time limit is expired (after more than five minutes every time) or you surrender. The latter is the most likely you are going to pick, therefore these players take advantage of that to advance in the game using bots. they are ruining this card game. I just tried to duel hundreds of times but i haven’t met a single actual player that isn’t a bot..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Peaked when it started, downhill keeps getting steeper…Returning players who use to play with real cards and on PC. I was excited to know I can actually enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh on my phone now, and not in the duel links format. However, as time went by, the game just became lazy. ✓ Keep losing to cheatersIt’s my second night playing this version I kept doing the dual play with other players because of no robot player to play with anyway I get my cards I go first or second no biggie but then it’s a problem I thought it be a good head to head match new to new or something like it but it’s new to legendary level and I always um put a monster down attack or defend with or without spell trap cards infield anyway once it’s there turn again they put a monster card down and another and another and somehow it synchro xyz summon I thought it um finished but then it did it again maybe the spell or traps were involved but that’s literally cheating and how am I supposed to win or attack there monster anyway I either surrender or lose the game but other than that sometimes I won after getting my cards to dual and they surrendered either for me to not get humiliated by cheaters or they just don’t want a fair honest dual.Version: 1.0.2
✓ New upgrade is unacceptableThis should be an official simulator. How can people play the game if there’s not every card from the tcg/ocg. I wanted to play despias however no secret pack has been released meaning the archetype in unplayable. No new cosmetics. No new interesting solo modes of adventures. No new BANLIST. This is a huge hit for the game. You are gonna see never before seen low numbers. I’m quitting the game to protest for the low quality of content management and decision making sourrounding the game. ✓ Server issuesI love this game but too many times there is a message that pops up saying there is no response from the game server and both the retry and reboot options fail to rectify this so you have to close the game and restart it which is so annoying when you’re trying to sort your deck out.Version: 1.6.1

✓ Poor matchmaking for new playersThe game itself is good but it does have a few things to work on in my opinion. I’m a new player and just started playing for the first time. The matchmaking in this game is quite poor as I was a lvl 2 player being partnered up with players who have a lot more experience than me and with decks that are full of very powerful cards. At my lvl I would expect opponents at my own lvl and experience to make it more of a fair fight and so everyone can enjoy the game. ✓ Mostly love the game.I started playing this a few weeks ago and I’ve enjoyed it for the most part. Only part I’m not a fan off was when I started, I was coming up against people that obviously knew what they were doing and already had outrageous decks even at the lowest level. I’d usually just surrender if they took longer than a few minutes on the first move😂. It does work really well on my PC, it lags a fair bit on my phone but that’s manageable but it won’t load on my iPad. Just keeps saying failed to write file every time..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Has PotentialRight now this is just another yugioh pvp duel simulator and not a real “game”. The solo mode is total trash, just text on a screen where you do a few battles with bad decks against a computer opponent. Where is the actual yugioh world where you can have a character and interact with other characters and move around? Where are the storylines? Why can’t Konami make a real modernized GAME like The Sacred Cards for mobile that has pvp as a feature and not the core thing? Speaking of PVP, it’s fun for a bit until you run into the same 5-10 toxic decks that take FOREVER to play against. I shouldn’t be waiting five minutes for every opponent turn. The only good thing about this game is you can get a ton of gems in the beginning to draw a lot of packs and the crafting system is really interesting. As of now, this is a really incomplete game with barely any content, and the PVP matches play too slow. Will definitely uninstall in a few weeks if big changes aren’t made. ✓ Very well put together, but easy to nitpickLongtime yugioh player here: played as a child, collected the cards, enjoyed it thoroughly. I decided to come back after I see an ad for this game on social media and gave it a try. Not only is it easy to get cards through all of the promotional events, but the game itself is very well put together and I saw myself having fun with it, that is, until my first duel. The new summoning mechanics (pendulum, xyz etc.) bog down any given duel immensely. If you aren’t willing to sit through a 6 minute turn while your opponent spam summons 3k atk monsters all at once, don’t give yourself a headache by downloading. Some of the decks that many people use make any duel absolutely lethargic as you have to sit and wait for all of their card effects and their animations to “resolve”, and at that point it’s really a matter of who wins the coin toss to determine the duel winner. ✓ ReviewI really loved the game and I thought that this would be a great way to get back into it. I’d been playing it for a day and thought I had finally gotten a good deck together. The first game I played I lost before my first turn and the the second I lost on my opponent’s turn. Can someone please explain to me how this game could possibly be balance. ✓ IPad Experience needs improvingThe game is great overall, I’m enjoying it on other platforms. I was looking forward to an iOs release to play on my iPad but it is a blurry mess as they haven’t adapted the game to work on large mobile displays. The deck-building is particularly bad on ipad, even though there is plenty of screen real estate it isn’t used and makes for a very poor experience. Also in games the art is all very obviously pixelated like the game cannot run above 420p. I really hope there is a graphical update for iPad and hope they switch to using the desktop or Nintendo switch layout for deck-building!.Version: 1.0.1
✓ Hard for new playersSo the game is good but as a new player that’s doesn’t really know what is going on I find that the solo stuff gets stupidly hard pretty quick. It’s not even worth challenging the game because after a certain point it’s advantage to the bot, online stuff is alright as humans make mistakes but a bot never does and everything is on their favour. Loaner decks are just a shambles, you’re always at a complete disadvantage, it’s a shame as the game was growing on me until this point and so it’s not worth playing just for online duels..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Good but bad matchmakingI like the game and yugioh in general but the matchmaking is absolutely frustrating. I just started and every time I try to play ranked I keep getting matched with people with broken cards and intense strategy’s. Most of the time the people I match with gets fusions and XYZ on the first turn while I’m just stuck using a lvl 4 monster and they absolutely destroy me. ✓ Getting worseDid a 2 star review a while ago and then there was an update so I thought I’ll give it another go. Boy I shouldn’t have. Every player seems to use tearlements cards which apparently can just negate every effect (monster trap/spelll etc) and whilst doing that simultaneously destroy each of your cards. The game has still mixed too many versions of Yugioh leading to people making decks which can draw upwards of 20 cards per turn make multiple summons until they have the cards desired to essentially make it impossible to counter or have any chance of even making a game of it. Why can’t they just separate yugioh original so that the people who want to play this game for the nostalgia can actually enjoy themselves? Tearlament cards for example are actually banned in most tournaments/other yugioh games due to how overpowered they are so I don’t understand why they are included in this game. The card game on its own is pay to win and soo Dammn expensive at that. But not you have a Mobil version so I’m my head I was like awesome I get to play the game. But no I log in and are given a straight up horrible year one deck and when I try to build my own I can’t cuz I have to acquire the cards but by bit witch takes forever making you want to spend real money. ✓ Long and annoyingI don’t really get it, I’m a big time Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan and have cards and play still. I don’t understand all this link and pendulum stuff it’s just stupid. I wait ten minutes for someone to finish their move to not understand what’s happeneing I can’t do certain things that I should be able to do. Such as fusion summon even though the only thing that should be stopped is special summons. I’m just so disappointed. At the very least I want to be able to set a filter to who I duel again in a sense that I can then face people that are only using the original card sets like me. ✓ Want to love it but can’tPlayed many different yugioh games and have played duel links as well for a long time. This game just seems to have played off the success of duel links and set up full style matches. That sounds great but it ends up not. Your ability to collect cards to make any sort of workable deck is unmanageable without spending a pretty penny. Also the method to collect cards is quite bad. You draw basically from every card in existence. Then can only get more selective sets to draw from if you pull a sr or ur from said set. Also the game is basically just pvp with weak events based on a couple sets at the time. You will constantly be outmatched in the first turn everytime. This is due to you not having access to cards to get by against most other players. Then because you lose, you end up with little to no rewards leading to not being able to get more cards. This creates a broken system for new players downloading this. Honestly skip this and go to duel links. ✓ Broken exploits…I had 5 games and the opponent got first turn every game, so I’m sat there for 10mins while they chain this and link that… I’ve got even place a card yet and my opponent has 5 cards all with 3000+ damage all sorts of special summons and god knows what else! So I surrender, next game same thing, next game same thing… I thought it would be a really nice nostalgia trip from my childhood of playing this game in school with real cards! ✓ Loving this game but I got a few complaints that can be fixed.For starters there’s no side deck. I this game was advertised as playing by TCG and OCG rules so it’d be nice to do best of threes. It’d be cool to have toggle to uncensored the art for all cards. Like come on it’s already there for the folks in Japan so having a toggle is quite literally not that hard to do. While on the topic of art having the alt arts in this would be cool. And a toggle for using the original direct translation for the card names would be nice. Being able to see the opponent’s hands in replays would be nice. Oh! Best for last. Why am I getting less or the same amount gems during the daily logins and completing challenges? One would assume you’d get more the more you log in and the more you work on a certain challenge to help motivate you to do it. Surrendered by turn three because the opposing team kept repeating the same move set every turn, not actually accomplishing anything, just drawing out the duel until someone quits. If you haven’t a lot to do, clear schedule, and enjoy duelling enough to wait for someone to finish their never ending spree of card effects stacked on card effects, this game is for you. ✓ Reminds Me Why I Quit Yu-Gi-Oh 20 Years AgoSolo mode is deeply unrewarding and has a lot of decks (not opponents, you’re not facing duelists, you’re literally just fighting sentient scraps of paper) that are blatantly unfair. The whole purpose is to show how you can exploit various mechanics in Duel Monsters and then take you to the shop where you can pay a lot of money to pull the same exploitative nonsense. Solo mode can be played with your own deck or loaner decks. The loaner decks are worthless and get obliterated by the AI’s vastly superior decks. So you’re mashing retry until eventually the AI messes up or gets a bad hand and you can finally get an RNG based victory in. The 10 pack bundles say they guarantee a super rare card, except for when they don’t but instead promise you’ll totally get an ultra rare card if you buy another 10 packs. So in summary: Boring opponents, enemies that borderline cheat with their decks, difficulty curve that doesn’t exist because it’s all random, designed to handhold players on their way to the store so they can spend enough of mommy’s money so they can cheat at Duel Monsters too..Version: 1.5.0

✓ Impossible For NewcomersThe game is not built for newcomers. It has very complicated rules, techniques, etc that new players aren't ready for. It would take an extremely long time to understand the game mechanics, and it doesn't help that your matched up against players who are almost professionals and take 7 minutes to summon super powerful cards that newcomers have no defence against. ✓ Not the same game I used to playSo after doing the tutorial, then waiting 30 minutes for the 2gb update (which has to be done to continue) my first opponent was able to summon multiple monsters each turn (possibly cheating) as well as drawing 3-4 cards each turn and on their second turn had a monster with 5300 attack, all I did on my only turn was set a monster with 2100 def. If the player wasn’t cheating then the only similarity to the game I played 15 years ago was the starting 8000 life points.Version: 1.0.1
✓ The other reviews are right!The issue is with YuGiOh itself as a card game. There are so many ways to special summon now, you take one move, then watch as your opponent searches their deck and summons time and time again until they have multiple 8 star or higher monsters. ✓ This App is Killing The Fun of YugiohThis might make me sound old, but this app focuses too heavily on modern Yugioh. For those players who are not able to play online with friends often and seek a simple match, they are rewarded about 70% of the time with a meta player with a busted deck that TKOs them in one turn or makes them rage quit in a few seconds. There needs to be a mode for old classic fun Yugioh, when winning wasn’t the only thing that mattered. Sometimes you get a fun duel you have a chance with, but most of the time it’s playing with busted cards in sync with busted combos that feel meaningless each time. And yet the ability to play with cards you can’t easily get your hands on in real life makes this one of the most addictive games on the market. And that is probably what’s worst about it. You’ll probably have fun with it from time to time, but if you’re looking for a genuine Yugioh experience with all the highs and lows, you won’t likely get it as often as you hope..Version: 1.7.3
