✓ Fun game at times but glitches abound and lacks replay abilityThe outside world collisions with throwable objects are fun as heck. The environment is awesome too, but maybe that’s just a personal bias because I like games where you shrink down and normal objects seem giant. As for every thing else though, it kinda falls flat. The collisions, while fun, are tough to get around at times. Stuff like paint cans and springs feel awkward to use. Due to these collisions, glitches can happen that ruin the whole thing. On one of the stages, I died to a lawnmower. When I respawned, I respawned ON TOP OF THE LAWNMOWER and had NO CONTROL of Frogger. I almost died from that. Second, the game feels off. There are no bosses at all because I assume the glitches would make them way more difficult. There are only a bunch of random obstacles that you can get through easily. Like for example, the baby. Third problem; the toy capsules. Normally games give you a reason to progress, but this isn’t. It just gives you a tiny statue thing that just exists. No real sense of accomplishment. Final problem; title music. This music is really awful. Please update this game Konami..Version: 1.6.0
✓ KONAMI Was decent!At first, I except quality, and it was actually some decent graphics. What I don’t like, is the framerate. Maybe i’am not seeing things right. Is it 60 FPS? I have no idea if you even care, but do you have incoming updates? ✓ Slow DownsI have an iPhone X Max & this game for some reason gets extremely slow and none responsive. I don’t think there is anything wrong with my device, and this happens no place else. I want to really love Arcade. Anyone else having this issue? Otherwise I would give the game 2 more stars. It would be fun we’re it not for the situation I described. ✓ Problems on an iPhone 7PlusI have the iPhone 7Plus and for some reason after like 3 min of playing the game at any time, it gets really slow and become unresponsive and Frogger just starts moving on his own. There is also an iPhone 10 max on here that is having this problem so there is something going on but right now I can’t play the game because of this bug. ✓ Terrible controls even with a controllerI don’t know who this game is supposed to appeal to. I see many touting it as a great children’s game, but this is one of the hardest and most frustrating games I’ve ever played (mostly due to poor controls). Nothing bounces or moves the way you expect, and trying to save all of the froglets in each level is an exercise in frustration. I know the touch controls are legendary in their awful execution, but trust me, you’re not missing out on much with a controller. I still die in almost every level because I’m fighting the controls. We know Konami is a bad company, but this game should not be on Arcade. It is easily the worst thing on here (even worse than ShockRods)..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Unclear how far your jump is...Frogger is all about timing. How can you time your jumps correctly if each jump seems to be different in length? As an example, on the first map, there are two roads one after another. The first road takes 2 jumps to clear, the second 1. They are both the same width... It’s never clear if you’re jump will end half on a street or if you’re clear. All of this makes this game everything but a frogger game....Version: 1.1.0
✓ Too many glitches and not consistent!This game is fun, but there are too many glitches and inconsistent jumping and reactions. There are times Frogger jumps sideways when you want to go forward. Jumping on the same items have different reactions and you lose opportunities to rescue baby frogs. The jumping distance isn’t consistent and you’re constantly trying to correct your distance and angle. Sometimes you’re able to jump on moving vehicles and items, other times you’re killed and lose the baby frogs..Version: 1.1.0

✓ Controls 👎I was impressed that it seemed to offer so many ways to control it. Keyboard and gamepad and touch? Sounds great! There’s even diagrams for controls I can’t decipher. What’s the half-filled rectangle with rounded corners? Is it a mouse? It looks like you throw the rectangle away from you to move forward, and strike the left corner to activate objects. Nothing to suggest how you might change directions. But hey, whatever the thing is, they support it. There’s literally more options than I can imagine! * Keyboard controls double-fire, so you can’t move 1 square, it always moves 2 — particularly strange since you can navigate the menus with arrow keys just fine * Swipe gestures frequently don’t respond, or don’t go in the right direction * Pencil makes it a bit easier, but not quite * Tap works, so if the levels were a straight path with no obstacles, then it could be playable...of course, it wouldn’t be much fun, but hey, one little hop at a time.Version: 1.0.4
✓ Spent all their time on graphicsAnd no time on controls. The touch controls are terrible and unresponsive. On Apple TV it was even worse. The only passable experience I had was with an XBOX controller, but only when using the D-Pad. Using a joystick on a controller seems to confuse the game and it just sends your frog in whichever direction it wants. I won’t be playing this game until it gets fixed. ✓ LackingI was looking forward to playing this, the original game was something I played a lot as a child and I was hoping this would be a nice way to honour the memory. Unfortunately it’s not. This game has the potential to be a fun time waster but it falls short of the mark. The graphics are nice and it’s a good looking game but overall it’s let down by a number of other aspects. First and foremost is the controls. I found the jump distance inconsistent and laggy. I would tap or swipe a number of times to have the frog jump once and occasionally in the wrong direction. In the end, this was the reason I rage quit the game. Other things that frustrated me were the intro, where the text would move while I was trying to read it, the style of music in the first level sounded terrible and really just annoyed me and inconsistencies with the game play, like sometimes I could jump on cars and sometimes I would die. ✓ Almost good. Terrible phone controlsThough the reboot of this classic game has some fun ideas, gameplay is unbearable using touch interface. Intro is so long with no skip option that I almost erased it immediately. Tragic UI. But the controls are so stupid and unresponsive that it makes the game no fun all frustration. Swipe left to turn left but tap jump forward only. Trying to jump left is a complete crapshoot same with right or back. It should be this simple:click the screen on whichever side of the frog you want to jump to. No swiping just jumping. This also solves the problem of jumping back at the bottom of the screen. ✓ Buggy and not challengingLike most things that look good there is no depth to it, Frogger normally gets the heart beating and has you laughing when you get him suddenly! ✓ Garbage controlsI am extremely frustrated with this game, yes the graphics are great and all but I was expecting it to be a really fun game to play and unfortunately due to control issues as many people have mentioned I could barely get past level one on my phone. Not only is it frustrating when you swipe left/right or tap to jump out of the way and nothing happens but it’s also extremely frustrating when they allow the froglets to go off screen or in an area where you cannot reach them (when saving them is the main objective of the game.) On top of that where is the consistency with jumping on vehicles? Am I not allowed to jump on trucks and only on cars? Am I not allowed to jump on either? I feel like sometimes I can jump on trucks and cars and sometimes I can’t at all or I lose a life. ✓ Super fun but controls need a LOT of workI was worried how this remake would turn out because the original is such a classic with its simple but fun design. They did a good job with the overall concept and it does not stray from the original premise of getting your frog from one place to another while avoiding obstacles without getting killed. The controls, however, are awful. You can tap-tap-tap to go straight and swipe life, right, forward, and backward to change directions and very often your frog just doesn’t respond well at all. I’m playing on a iPhone XR, hardly underpowered. I could see this not running well on older hardware, but, the controls are just as bad on my 2014 iPad Mini, so this tells me there is a lot more work that could be done under the hood. I’m glad to see my concerns echoed by many others here and hopefully the developer will actually listen and work on this unfortunate shortcoming..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Beautiful but buggyGorgeous visually, however the gameplay itself just doesn’t work for iPhone XS Max players. My first issue is that you should be able to swipe backwards without pulling down the whole of your screen, providing a real irritant when trying to enjoy the immersive visuals and progress through the game. The second is that when you complete the level the whole thing freezes meaning you need to force close and reopen the app. Not a great start to Apple Arcade for me, I was under the impression these games were designed to perform well on the only device and platform they are created for, alas this seems not to be the case. ✓ Glitchy game that NEEDS to be patched yesterday!Frogger in Toy Town was a title I was actually looking forward to upon the launch of Apple Arcade. Unfortunately, it’s been riddled with all sorts of issues that render it unplayable. On my iPhone 11, it appears to install a (broken) Japanese version. Text and dialogue is either empty replaced by a series of question marks and dashes (?- - -), while some buttons have visibly hiragana text. Attempting to set the language to English is a hassle. The settings button completely disappears upon toggling with no settings menu showing up at all. The little bit I am able to play actually plays fine. The lack of discernible buttons and working menus prevent me from progressing forward, however. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling the game as well as updating my iOS software and restarting. No solution thus far here. On my iPad, Frogger actually forced it to shut down for power issues despite my iPad having 38% charge on the battery. The text/menu issues aren’t present here but the random shutdown during the opening cutscene makes the game unplayable. I can’t even make it to the first level because of this. I’m hoping the devs see this comment or the others and release an update patching these issues. This isn’t a bad game, but it won’t be any good hindered by these issues..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Good game! HOWEVER...I’ve only played several levels so far but I have an opinion. Overall, I think it’s a great game. I love the graphics. And all the different obstacles add a nice touch. However, when I looked at the reviews for the game, I saw something about being able to jump on cars. I’ve tried this, and can’t seem to be able to get it right. Most of the time, the game decides: No and then kills you. I assume that there’s a correct time to jump, but I just don’t know. The only consistent method I’ve found is dying, and then you are able to jump on the cars. If this could get some attention, that would be great. ✓ Good BUT...Sometimes I really love this game, but I find that the controls and other aspects of gameplay don’t always work as expected. For example, despite my furious swiping I sometimes cannot get my frog to climb up objects (like lamps and shovel handles). I wish the game would not allow me to throw objects in the wrong direction (as sometimes my frog will accidentally be facing backwards). I wish I knew exactly when I can and cannot jump on a moving vehicle - seems like sometimes I can and other times I just die. ✓ Please stop the game music!!I have not played this game long, and I think it is a cool take on the classic game Frogger. The graphics are super creative with toys and the crawling baby, but please, please change the music. I’m not sure who chose this background music, but to put it quit simply, I hate it. ✓ Has potential but controls are crapThis game has the potential to be great. Like everyone else has said the controls are crap. Frogger is slow and makes it even worse with how the controls work. There is a specific level where you need to go up a hill and collect gems. In order to get a perfect score you need to collect 23 gems. It’s impossible with how slow frogger goes up the hill. You have to mash the screen to get him to move well but you also need to move left or right to avoid cans rolling down the hill. With the time and how slow frogger goes its impossible. ✓ Great Concept But...Reviewing on game play from iPhone 11, have played for a few weeks and at played up until the end of the third house. What I love: The game concept and remake of Frogger in Toy Town, hands down a solid five stars for me. I love the game feels half puzzle, half platform. What I don’t like: Poor swiping controls, it’s not consistent and glitchy. This makes some of the more challenging levels more challenging than they should be. Jumping and swimming don’t always match the controls. Konamis website on the game leaves a lot to be desired, it’s just an overview sales pitch without enough in game play information. I get like this may be a fun game for elementary age son and due to the difficulty of the control he can’t play. Putting the game away and will try again in a few months to see if there have been any updates to the game or any new information on future enhancements. If things get better I will change my review. There is a huge fundamental bug with a physical keyboard where pressing any arrow key or WASD will cause Frogger to jump in the direction twice. ✓ HorribleYou have to either choose drafters movement increments AND a grid based world. Or NEITHER. Doing one without the other put you in situations that are impossible. The 100-bean super frog is extremely stupid since you have no control over when it happens. And you designed a from that once it touches water you lose all your lives no matter what. Absolute trash. If I were on the art team of this game that did an INCREDIBLE job, I would be fuming at the atrocious gameplay implementation. ✓ Frogger still a great game!!!I’ve been playing Frogger games for years! The first 3D game on cdrom. It was hard but I beat the game. Every level! And then Frogger 2: Swampy’s Revenge came out on cdrom with 3D gaming and some old gaming built-in. It was the best then. And a few years later Frogger was on DS for Nintendo and 3DS. I’ve played all the games and the computer versions rock! I’m glad Apple thinks like me abit and added two new Frogger games that are ONLY for Apple Arcade! What a gift!!! ✓ Not goodThis is a very frustrating game. I can’t stand how you have to start over again if your frog gets knocked down or you lose baby frogs. It makes me just quit and stop playing. The controls are terrible. The battery drain (iPad Pro) is literally unbelievable. It makes my device get very hot and just a small bit of gameplay will deplete your battery from 100 to 60 in an hour. ✓ Broken but funIt’s Konami so I don’t ever expect this game to be fixed. The spawns for items are glitchy forcing you to reload constantly and at times the levels feel impossible. They’re not, but they can feel that way. My 4-year-old, and my wife and I completed everything on the game and while it was frustrating at times, we still had a lot of fun and would play new levels if added. That doesn’t mean it’s a good game, just fun. ✓ Looks great, bugs need fixingControls response is iffy, car collision range seems unfair and random, the first level achievement seems to not work (I have completed many levels and it does not register first one done), also occasionally says network error on the level select screen but seems to do nothing, froglets fall off screen regularly making them impossible to collect, lastly often cars will just be piled up for no clear reason when arriving at a crossing. Bugs aside, it seems fun, will upgrade review as these are fixed, it’s worth a go but doesn’t seem quite through bug testing yet, maybe rushed out for arcade release..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Enjoyed the game but has been glitchingI enjoyed playing this game but it has been glitching a lot over the last few weeks. I am using it on an iPhone 11. The labels and information stopped rendering, so now it just has ?- - - and random symbols in other places. It also restarts from the beginning almost every time I open it. This forces you to have to go through the entire intro every time. The inability to skip the intro is a pain. But the worst part is that it causes saving issues as well. And because of this it makes you lose progress. I like the game but they need to fix glitches before I will play it again..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Tune it up pleaseLike many here, I grew up with Frogger, and I was very excited when it debuted with a refresh but this has been a disappointment. The touch controls are sadly clunky and where Frogger tests your skills with timing this is a crucial flaw. Back in the old days Frogger moved ahead in specific paces but in this it seems he jumps with varied distances which causes problems when the tip of a nose is the reason the car “knocks you out”. Very disappointing since you do need to be very precise sometimes when executing moves, avoiding enemies or picking up items. ✓ Charming visuals but frustrating controlsFrogger looks great and has plenty of charm. It runs OK (but not amazing) on my iPhone X. But the touch controls are really frustrating. You control Frogger by tapping - to hop forwards - or swiping - to hop in any cardinal direction. Some sections lock frogger to a grid (e.g crossing a road, you can only move one square at a time), while others do not have a grid, and you can kinda clamber over the environment. You can get into awkward situations where you’ve done a free form hop next to a road, and get ever so slightly clipped by a car as it passes by, because the game hasn’t locked you into the grid movement correctly. The climbing mechanic is unpredictable and can make collecting your navigating the environment harder than it needs to be. Objects to be climbed can be strewn around the environment in a non-grid like fashion, so navigating them with Frogger’s grid-like movement makes for some annoying over/undershooting of jumps. It feels like they should have given frogger more analogue movement for these sections. Occasionally, frogger will climb onto a car instead of getting hit by it. While this is a great outcome, I have no idea what determines this mechanic, or how to reproduce it. It is unclear whether you will leap to your death, or ride the car like a mechanical bull. On top of these frustrations, I found the swipe and tap controls to be imprecise. Sometimes a swipe left would be interpreted as a tap or swipe up, letting me launch head first into traffic. Other times, the controls would not register, or perhaps were not sensitive enough to detect smaller than intended taps / swipes, leading to inaction. With controller support or some improved touch controls, Frogger could be a fun little game. As it is, I left aggravated..Version: 1.0.2
✓ It’s okI’m getting fed up with Arcade games where you die and have to restart. They are fine for the younger players and those with nimble fingers, but for some of us just annoying and frustrating. The graphics are excellent and it is a fun game, but games where you die and have to keep restarting just aren’t entertaining to me. I play games to relax, and with the World’s crisis even more so these days. It would be good to have a few levels you’ve a chance of conquering before you’re asked to ‘play again’ or exit. Only played for ten minutes then gave up. Give it a go. I found the controls didn’t always respond so ended up being ‘splattered’, but probably just me..Version: 1.1.0

✓ Fun concept but too hardThis game is amazing fun and really creative, however this is just way to hard, I barley could pass the second level with full heart, and catching all the frogs, but the 3rd level was another word for hard! If you fall in the sink you have less then 3 seconds to get out even though to swim to it take around 5 seconds! I was shocked to see this game was recommended for 4 and up. ✓ Broken gameI have been playing this game just fine the past few days and really like it. But now starting today 9/26 it is acting like I have never played it before and when there are pop ups for conversation it shows just a question mark. Then if I go to the menu it is in an Asian language and won’t let me go into settings to change anything. Not sure what is going on but very frustrating. ✓ Simple to beat, hard to master...Mainly because the responsiveness of the controls feel off. Not that they are necessarily but you need to wait for your frog to jump and also, the physics can be sort of wonky.
