✓ Deep under the fx is classic bombermanWow. I have loved Bomberman for many decades and this is intolerable - far too many VFX and colours make it confusing to see where anything is half the time, especially on a phone. The control on touch isn’t brilliant either. The UI and general mish-mash of graphic styles is all over the place, but that doesn’t ruin it. It’s disappointing because all it would take is some (optional) reduction of this visual overload to make this a fine online Bomberman. Hope the developers do something about it. ✓ Missions?So it shows the missions but there’s no apparent way to start a mission. It’s really hard to keep track of your character in vs the AI. ✓ Terrible joypad designThis game only allows four directional movement, why is there a 360 joypad? and why can't you remove it from the screen? the thing is too huge and blocks vision. the developers didnt think it through. also there shouldnt be a button for the bomb, simply just tap the screen to place a bomb. the kick, punch, and glove buttons are the only buttons that should be on the screen. ✓ Want to love this gameI use to love playing this game on the Super Nintendo as a kid so I immediately downloaded it when I saw it was available on Apple Arcade. The graphics are cool and the menus are slick. I like the design choices for the game making it basically a music video. Unfortunately, it’s absolute chaos. Dimming the background videos from the main menu isn’t enough. I want to turn them off. The music is fun, the dance themes used in the game are very creative. But stop the madness. ✓ Too Many Clicks To Get GoingThe original used to be simple and addictive in a super fun way! This one requires too many clicks/taps to get going and is an overload on the senses with crazy background animations that distract from the gameplay. ✓ Really bad gameDid not enjoy this all. Played two rounds and had to uninstall it as my eyes were hurting. Also it just wasn’t fun. The visual effects in the background is just too much and distracting. So much stuff keeps happening. Things dropping everywhere. Things flying around. Thing flashing. ✓ Too flashyAs an old fan of Bomberman I was really looking forward to this, but sadly it’s just too flashy and distracting to be playable. There are so many lasers and spotlights going on you often can’t even tell which character is yours on the screen (and I’m playing on a 12.9” iPad!!) ✓ UnplayableThe virtual joystick needs to be pushed all the way to the edge of the outer circle before bomberman even begins to move. This means you have to move your finger pretty far across the screen to move. Because of this, your own hand is blocking about a third of the screen while you play. Also, the slow response time of the joystick coupled with the unnecessary 8 way directional input means you will spend most of the round getting stuck on walls. This is too bad because bomber man is a great series with solid mechanic. In 34 years, this is the only bad bomberman game i have played..Version: 1.0.0

Was hoping it would be like the bomberman party game on the Nintendo switch but was disappointed. ✓ Who designed this?I have played bomberman on so many different platforms and it’s an absolute favourite. Until now. Once you’ve clicked through the ridiculous amount of menus to get anywhere you are met with this hideous game that is virtually unplayable. The wireframe is not helpful to quick play, it’s tricky to decipher quickly where the walls are resulting in getting trapped. The flashing colours and virtual inability to distinguish who your actual player is just adds to the y playability. I note the ratings are all either 1 star or 5 star, did the developers get all their staff to rate the game as all the written reviews are quite scathing?.Version: 1.3.0

✓ What even is this?I’m a fan of the classic bomberman and I was excited to download this game- but what in the world is the music and the videos?! It’s distracting, to say the least. It’s like a panic attack being blasted at you while you’re trying to play a game. No option to do literally anything else besides watch it and deal with it. ✓ Not the Bomberman I envisionedAs an avid fan of Bomberman, I was so excited to see this game being released. Before, I had to resort to knockoff games from the App Store (that were pretty lacking in visuals) just to scratch that itch. However, after initially being wowed by the new game mechanics and art style, I was quickly disappointed by two things: 1. A sense of progression. The level-up system is based on quests such as “place 20 bombs” or tutorial things such as “change your practice settings”. I wish there was exp to be won through games and a meaning to aim for first place. 2. The customization factors are a bit lacking. I know the colors are true to the original characters, but not having the ability to add little personal quirks like a hat or clothes outside of the body color is a bit disappointing. Overall, appreciate the developers for trying to come up with a new approach to the classic gameplay (different song-mode settings), but it wasn’t enough to keep me engrossed for more than a few rounds of gameplay..Version: 1.0.0

✓ All it is right now is a cool conceptAs a fan of the recent Bomberman games, I didn’t know what to expect from a Bomberman game that incorporates music and rhythm into the gameplay, but the twist is actually pretty ingenius. Not only will bombs, power-ups and curses drop in accordance to the rhythm, but also the intensity of the gameplay will try to match the music, making the gameplay, almost as though its part of the music video. So you can expect the song’s drop to add more power-ups or the song’s bridge maybe slow things down. It almost puts a new definition of the concept of a “rhythm game.” But its pretty short on content. As of writing, it only has 10 songs, so they’re guaranteed to repeat alot, if you’re looking to max out your level. The cosmetics unlocked are lacklustre and don’t mean much to the players you go up against. The scoring system is maybe a bit unrefined, with huge swings towards bombing the lead player. Tracks at the moment have the same grid design to them, and don’t use alot of stage obstacles seen in other Bomberman games. Also, I think the game can benefit from adding the classic elimination arena mode alongside. Also, it makes the poor decision, to release a multiplayer mode that doesn’t support all players on one system. I think this can become a great Bomberman game, that I would introduce to my family that loves Bomberman, but this game at the moment only has a good twist and a lovely aesthetic to it. ✓ Cool idea but missesThe first big thing is the controls are surprisingly difficult. You can mess around with them but they aren’t great. There isn’t any controller support either so there aren’t alternatives for it. The other thing is there is a lot going on the screen. It’s hard to tell what’s the background effects or bomb effects at times. There is just a lot going on. ✓ Bomberman with Unlimited LivesLove the game mode don’t get me wrong but I think there should be an option for veteran players to be able to play with the old school mode of last bomber alive. ✓ I love Bomberman, but not like thisI was so excited to see this game drop. I love the whole Bomberman genre. I want this to be my favorite app. It misses the mark. Game board uses about 1/4 of the screen on my iPad, with active motion graphics behind it. Which you cannot disable, even though they acknowledge up front this could cause seizures. The controls are inconsistent. Particularly the D pad. Way too easy to miss your turn. ✓ Great Game, however❗️Pros: I’m a Bomberman fan. With that said the graphics and game play gets 5 stars. I believe they did the best with the controls. At the start I did not like the accuracy but you learn to adjust and it’s not so bad. Very Addicting! Contras: I’M disappointed with the online part of this game. I’ve had a winning streak up to 51 wins in a row and didn’t realize that many of my games played was with Bots and the names doesn’t change and the same players/ bots are present 24hr around the clock. Big bummer! I believe they created bots to fulfill the online game function, however they could at least create stronger bots and other names. And even on offline mode, they could use a harder game mode, such as Extra Hard , Extreme Hard, Etc. Contra #2: A regular game play mode would be nice. The music and sometimes the background make it unpleasant to play. To be honest I turned the music off completely and it makes it way better to play. Other than that it’s great, it’s not worth paying if not many people are online or if they don’t upgrade their online Bots. Hoping things work out for this game in the future. ✓ Bomberman and ChillThe main menu has a nice chill vibe with the menu music, but ingame turns into a rave. You obviously need a Retro mode/theme in another mode/theme that’s not distracting. ✓ Legacy should not be ignoredThe core gameplay is there but you'll have to find it buried benneath the flashing lights and unnecessary screen animations. Not only have these distracting visuals attempted to rob your senses of what is crucial to this game's original success but the gameboard's screen real estate now occupies barely 50% of what is available. Added to this experience a poor controller experience that despite changing between two controllers (1 of which is brand new and has no issue elsewhere when in use) I constatntly experience my sprite continuing to move after the stick has returned to 0 point. I am subsequently only grateful that the game was free with Apple Arcade, otherwise I'd be asking for my money back..Version: 1.0.0
