✓ Handy but could be so much betterIt’s pretty obvious this is a wip application so it’s ok as a first effort. It baffled me why some reviews from free loaders are whinging that they have to actually pay for the book to be able to use the app, far too many spoonfeds out there wanting something for nothing I guess! Some suggestions: Portrait only may be fine for phones but forgets many will be using the app on an iPad etc. No search or filter facility really limits it’s usefulness, If someone posts a review on fb of a stop I would like to be able to look it up quickly without going to the van to get the book. I would also love to filter out all the pubs to see what else is out there. I agree with other reviewers the pins are too small and need much poking and stabbing at, multiple times to open. I personally don’t use apple maps either, there’s no option to make google maps the default instead which is a shame because street view is so very useful when checking out the locations. So at the moment I copy the coordinates from apple maps and paste into Google maps, it’s an uneccessary step but gets the job done..AlexankVersion: 1.0.25

✓ Requires a paid for keyAs obvious as it might sound, nowhere does this app state in the description that a paid key is needed to use the app. I thought I might be able to buy a key through the app or subscribe through Apple but there is no details about where to get a key from. ✓ IOS 16.5 not greatMight just be my iphone but you have to touch the screen many many times before a pin will open up the entry …. and then the bottom part of the entry (features at the hosts site) remain obscured behind the footbar , no amount of scrolling will let you see the important part of the hosts site . ✓ Too expensive£39 per year …. there are several other apps, some free or a reasonable annual subscription, with just as many stops, books are out of date before they hit the shelves. I would suggest dropping the book, it’s old tech, save the trees , concentrate on developing the app and reduce the annual subscription..ScotjimlandVersion: 1.1.2

✓ PFFT no toilet info on app. Regretting buying.Have just bought this (not got the book yet) but annoyed there is no info on app whether hosts have toilets available to use. (24hr access info would be good to know) I have a camper without a toilet and this is important! Bought this mainly for that information. Also impossible to view the bottom lines of the listing on my iPhone as the foot bar is in the way and can’t scroll further. ✓ Tapping icon failure to open site - more often than notSadly I’m having to tell you this isn’t working well on my iPhone 8; the icons don’t open into details more often than not. I just tap and tap and it doesn’t open. I’ve changed zoom and nothing will open the Britstop. Also I’d like to see a link to Google Maps as I don’t use the Apple Maps and have removed it. Update after response 17/4/22: I have done as suggested and switched off iPhone and tried again, but sadly after looking at three or four icons it’s reverted to fail to open them once more. I’ve faith that it will work one day once they see users’ feedback. Hopefully it will have a search button facility to find EA630/22 for example, too.CshelbourneVersion: 1.0.23

✓ Further development completed when fault pointed outThe app was under-developed and as such was useless. There is something below the Map/phone/website symbols but this cannot be read. This means you could turn up without phoning or with a dog leading to upset hosts and annoyed tourers. ✓ Need to buy £28 book to get this app!I just read about Britstops as a useful guide for finding overnight touring stopovers in the UK and as I am needing to find such places I decided to download the “free” app. The app is indeed free but requires an unlock code that can only be obtained from buying the book @ £28 plus £3.60 p&p. Now I don’t mind paying a fee for an app that I want/need but it seems illogical to me to publish this app in online app stores but then caveat this by mandating that you first need to buy the book in order to use the app - pls review and enable people to pay for the app? ✓ Useless AppI have used the book for years. Never a problem. Used the app once and thought it was useless. Now being told they are scrapping the book to go app only. Husband has just purchased for this year and no unlock code has been sent. ✓ Not user friendly and no option to not waste paper buying bookFrom what others have said it sounds like it’s not very user friendly atall! I would want to be able to search by areas and filter by type and link straight to google maps for the extortionate price of the book each year! I don’t want a hard copy of the book that will be out of date in 5 mins is a waste of resources and many full timers won’t even have anywhere to have it posted to! If you improve the ap and offer a reasonably priced ap only option then I might consider it in the future but def not paying over £35 each year with no way to see if it’s any good! The cost is stupid. Take heed about greed, not all of us have £100.000 motorhomes. Lots need grey waste points. Lots need toilet points. ✓ Good but could be so much betterMost folk will instal this on their phone as only one installation per book purchase is permitted, yet as the first reviewer said, the entire info for a host cannot be seen on a standard phone screen and there is no scrolling capacity. The touch function is very hit and miss. Could the host type not be incorporated in the pin ( have a glass pin if it’s a pub etc as in the book?). And finally if it were possible to put the host code number alongside the pin that would be great. As it is I will have to cross check info with the book anyway so it is of very limited practical use. Good start though and keep improving!.Romagill56Version: 1.0.20

✓ Hard to open orange pinsGreat to have this facility, but I’m finding it very hard to open the orange pins. I often have to tap on one more than 20 times before it successfully opens the information about that host. Maybe the pins are too small? ✓ Amature AppSo. I bought the book. I downloaded the app. I put in the key. All works. However. I want to use it on my iPad. I release the key as instructed. I type the key into my iPad. No good.
