Spelling Queen Pangrams for Positive User Reviews

Addictive......however, my stats won't update. Not sure why. Also, with the recent update, it was more helpful when Game Hints remained visible until I hit Dismiss. Now, I have to hit Game Hint each time, which is a bit of a pain, since I'm only using Game Hint when I'm absolutely at a loss for thinking up additional words..Version: 2.7

Great game but unheard-of words!I’m not sure what dictionary the developer used for this but “captcha” and “gonna” aren’t actual words. I tried to use “nougat” and it wouldn’t accept it. I usually exhaust my guesses and then look at the list of words that I missed. I’ve been er heard of most of those. I do like the hints and knowing how many words I’m trying to find though!.Version: 2.8

Great gameI love this word game. however, the developer uses a lot of British slang, not enough American slang, and sometimes place names or words not found in their own dictionary!.Version: 3.2

Nice simple gameI like that it's a very clean interface (with two options, if one likes the letters to be circled or not), with no distracting flashiness / animations. A minor quibble: I play on an iPhone SE 1st generation, which has quite a small screen, and some of the UI elements are cut off at the edges. It's still playable though. Thanks for making a nice game.Version: 2.8

Won’t accept ordinary wordsSince when are “solid” and “hold” not english words? These were rejected on the very first game I tried to play. No thanks!.Version: 2.5

GlitchThis is a great version of spelling be without the annoying ads and limits of the NYT version. However, it does have a glitch. Sometimes I type a word and the game says, “add ____ to list,” but the word is never added to the list. I type the same word over and over with the same result - word is accepted but not really added to list. Closing and restarting does not help..Version: 3.3

Fun but rejects valid wordsFun game but it’s frustrating how many valid words get rejected. It recognized the words but wouldn’t give any points for “defocused”, “defocuses”, or “scry” which I thought were good finds. 😕 still kinda fun despite that..Version: 2.4

Best of the spelling bee gamesWell laid out, and addictive in a good way. And - great news - I've just learned that the endlessly blinking cursor will be removable in an update. The game is already a winner, and that detail will make it even more enjoyable to play..Version: 1.5

Great game, questionable library of wordsGood game to pass the time though the choice of words tgat acceptable is at times very odd, don’t be surprised when you play a fairly common word just to see it rejected.Version: 3.1

Spelling BeeLove the challenge..Version: 3.2

Great gameThis game is awesome! I love that you can click on help for helpful hints. Also, there is only 1 five-second ad between games. The ads don’t interrupt your play like other free games. I’m hooked!.Version: 2.6

Best word puzzle app-No pop up adds!! -Not limited by levels, as far as I know there is practically infinite puzzles + daily puzzles -interface options for little details purely for user preferences. -One time purchase to remove the very small banner ads at the bottom of screen. I paid the $3.17 to remove ads just because I like the app so much that I want to support the creator. :) -multiplayer option over Wi-Fi is super cool and I haven’t seen that in other apps like this. No need to make an account or sign up for anything..Version: 2.6

Addictive game!!I started with the NYT spelling bee game and needed more. Found this app and it’s great. The ability to add words allows you to personalize the vocabulary to your areas of expertise. I just wish the “found words list” was alphabetized vertically in columns instead of horizontally. It’s hard to find words. At least for me. Agrarian is a word!!.Version: 2.3

AccessibilityWhilst to this game is quite accessible with VoiceOver, unfortunately it does not contain any sounds so blind user is unable to find out if a word has been accepted or rejected. The sound feature would greatly improve this game and also, I tried to send an email through the support page, but it keeps telling me that there is an error sending an email. So there is no way to contact the developer..Version: 2.8

Love this game BUT…I love this game after using it for the last 3 days or so. It’s making me scrolls social media much less and keeping me challenged during down time when I’d be bored and wasting time doom scrolling. That said, I’ve played 4 games and it’s only recorded statistics for 2 of them. Sometimes when I leave the game and come back later it resumes and other times it resets completely and gives me a new set of letters without adding my (very impressive) stats from the game I had paused past the Mastermind level. For a competitive person like myself this is super disappointing but sounds like a glitch that should be fixable..Version: 3.0

Queen BeeI love the concept of this game. It is like that in the NYT. However, the dictionary that was used is terribly incomplete. So many words are missing.. it is very frustrating.Version: 2.7

Love itIf you enjoy Spelling Bee from the NYT but can’t get enough, this is the solution. As many games as you want and similarly sophisticated. Love it!.Version: 3.4

Got to be patient and carry on regardlessAs above no patience left ha ha.Version: 3.0

Too many words rejectedAt first I loved this game and found it really challenging. But as I do more games I get more and more frustrated that perfectly good words are rejected on what appears to me no more than a whim of the developer. Take the game I’ve just started. The middle letter is H and it includes an S and a D. So I started off with the easy ones. HISS HISSES HISSED. 3 ticks. HOUSE HOUSES HOUSED. 3 ticks. HOSE HOSES HOSED. Another 3 ticks? Nope, only 2. HOSE and HOSES are ok but not HOSED. Where is the logic in that? There are many many examples like that. Often it’s plurals but it can be anything, not necessarily involving the addition of a suffix. I even once had one that accepted a plural but not the singular. I put it in several times to be sure as I was so gobsmacked. Sorry I’ve forgotten what that word was. Every time a ‘good’ word is rejected a message pops up suggesting you add the word to your personal list so you can use it in future games. So the game does recognise that it is a real word. And often it excludes a really common word but accepts lots of much more unusual ones. The developer explains somewhere in the blurb that “. . each game’s words are a subset of all possible words in the English dictionary . . .” Yes, fine, all words games do that, but usually it’s the extremely rare words that are omitted, words that practically never come into everyday speech or writing. But I’ve never ever come across a word game which excludes lots and lots of simple common words. I’m becoming so annoyed by this that it is totally spoiling the game for me and I’m searching for a similar game to replace it. Because actually it’s a great and mind-stretching game. Such a pity the developer has spoiled it like this..Version: 2.6

The Power of WordsThis fun game is a quick picker-upper for me after a long day. I love words and using my memory and creativity in this handy app helps to keep my brain limber!.Version: 1.5

Great, but has some very irritating flawsThere needs to be a flag, label, warning sign when you enter a perfectly good word, but—oops!—it doesn’t contain the center letter. Otherwise, the player thinks that the word isn’t in the dictionary and gets irate, and writes a review grumping about the app not accepting perfectly good words, and then realizes later just what was happening, and has to re-write the review. Not that this happened to me, oh no. Really. I’ve done this two or three times, and just having a note flash up saying “Word does not contain center letter”, and keep flashing it if you try it again, would be really helpful. Anyway, the app is pretty darned good. If you’re a fan of The NY Times Spelling Bee, this is a good substitute..Version: 2.6

Dictionary?I love this game, but some of the words are just not words. How do they get on the list? Clicking on the definition gives “No definition”. Or it’s a proper name, like a Native American tribe’s name. I wish there was a way to report those words, so they could be removed..Version: 3.4

Lovely gameI love how there’s a level at which the game says “You found *most* of the words” so you don’t waste time on the ones you just don’t know. I paid to dismiss the ads but they were very unobtrusive and it was somewhat for battery life and most of all to say thank you for a lovely little simple game..Version: 2.8

Great game, limited replayabilityThe game is great, it’s super addictive. The only issue is the game has a very limited number of letter combinations it will give you for each round. Once you’ve gone through a lot you’ll notice every game is the same as one you’ve played earlier. You’ll start being able to just memorise the answers you missed in previous rounds and getting “queen” status in every round..Version: 3.0

Good app but…This game is fun, challenging and addictive, however there are too many legitimate words that it does not recognize or accept. This makes it difficult to reach queen status. Even though it gives you the option of adding the unrecognized words to a customized list, that supposedly allows you to use these words for future games, that doesn’t always happen. Overall, it’s a good game, but the developer should really add more words to their acceptable words..Version: 2.4

Great interface. Horrible dictionaryIf you can deal with the frustration of the poor dictionary then app itself is great..Version: 2.6

Needs one small upgrade for 5 starsShow what’s needed to get to the next levels.Version: 3.4

I LOVEIii LOVBVVVEEEE SPEELLING QUEEN NMNNN.Version: 2.5

Fun and surprisingly trickyThe ability to use letters more than once makes this much more challenging! This will be an app that gets a lot of use….Version: 1.1

Very good, but sometimes frustratingMostly great, but annoying when obscure words are used, but more common words are not recognized..Version: 2.8

Love the app but just one noteThis is a great game and I found it when I went looking for something similar to the NYTIMES game. But… I wish my game progress was saved. If I leave the app for too long or close it my game is replaced by a new one..Version: 2.3

AWESOME game background noise not so muchI have been enjoying this game. It is totally accessible for the blind/visually impaired. However, it seems the most recent update has some sort of sound effects/music/drums playing in the background. As a blind user I use accessibility tools such as voiceover and this background is very distracting and conflicts with my voiceover and my listening skills. Would sure love to figure out how to turn off that background feature. As I said, a terrific FUN game to play. I have the purchased version and SO VERY MUCH worth it..Version: 3.1

Fun time-killer, just one minor requestThis is a great “bored app” - something to do when you’re bored. I just wish the iOS status bar would show in the game. It’s annoying that the app doesn’t use the top space, but hides the status bar anyway..Version: 3.1

CrownGreat puzzle if you love words. I play The NYt every morning and this is a close cousin to it. Love the fact you can play multiple games in the same day..Version: 2.6

Love it but my stats are offI scored QUEEN twice now but stats still say 0% am I doing something wrong? Otherwise super addictive and fun!.Version: 2.6

Not bad, missing a ton of wordsSo many words are missing from the dictionary used in this game. I tried using the “add word” thing but it doesn’t seem to do anything..Version: 3.3

Great game!Started with another very similar game but their word choices were often very obscure and they used proper names sometimes… This game is much more satisfying and enjoyable. Highly recommend it!.Version: 1.5

Good game, needs some tweaksGreat game and way cheaper than the NYT version, plus it has hints! The word list needs some work—too many unrecognized words and some words that definitely aren’t English. Nice to be able to add words, but there are some obvious words that can’t be added. Love the hint feature—would be nice to be able to get an additional hint now and then. PLEASE fix the spacing of the cells! The vertical spacing of the cells on either side is different than the rest of the spacing and it’s driving me crazy..Version: 1.5

Great gameSpelling bee is really fun, but there are many legit words that it won’t accept—example: gallivant, cruller—a lot of words that end in ER. It can be frustrating at times but I still enjoy the game..Version: 3.1

Pretty GreatPretty great app for pangrams! Only frustration is that sometimes perfectly good dictionary/Scrabble words are not included while informal/slang words are. But the variety and ease of use is terrific. All in all, pretty great..Version: 2.7
