Meh, it could be a lot betterYou can’t filter the pieces by edges & not edges and all you’re doing is matching the puzzle piece to the picture. It’s definitely not like putting a real puzzle together. There’s a MUCH better puzzle app in the arcade that is more like a real puzzle. You can change the # of pieces you want the puzzle to be, you can do all the edges 1st and build from there, you’re not matching pieces to a picture, you can zoom in & out, it’s just a much better puzzle app all around. It would be helpful if the developer of this app played with the other jigsaw puzzle app in the arcade call Jigsaw Puzzle+ just to get some ideas b/c this app has the potential to be a great puzzle app, the pictures are beautiful, prettier than the other app but right now it’s not quite what I’m looking for in a jigsaw puzzle. I’ll stick to the other app for now & check back on this one in a couple of months..Version: 1.2

Sooooo frustrating!Nice pictures but so annoying that the map constantly moves, unbelievable that this was not picked up during testing. Please release an update to fix the map in place!.Version: 1.2

Almost perfect, with a couple of fundamental flawsI love borderleap games, and this one is no different. I would happily have given it 5 stars if not for one huge oversight (in my opinion) and two very irritating bugs. Firstly, the oversight is that I really want a ‘mode’ where the whole image is greyscale/shaded. I don’t really care much for the silly prose, but the images are lovely. I would prefer to complete the whole puzzle the same as you do for the edges (or maybe having the shaded areas expand inward as you complete the puzzle from the outside). The two bugs I experienced were that the puzzle really required a ‘lock’ as I kept moving it by accident. Secondly, if I picked up a piece I had placed erroneously, it no longer stood out from my finger, making it impossible to place correctly without first returning it to the ‘drawer’. Once these issues are addressed I will happily post a new review. Thanks for all of your hard work borderleap :). I look forward to future updates!.Version: 1.2

Shows a ton of promiseThis has quickly become one of my favorite Apple Vision Pro experiences. I’ve enjoyed interacting with Vincent Van Gogh’s art and learning a lot in the process. A few suggestions- in the first version for Vision Pro, the puzzles would take you out of the gallery by default. This was a good behavior. With the latest update, it tries to have you play the puzzle in the gallery. The galleries are really not that interesting to look at though. I would remove this, or at a minimum make the choice more obvious. If I press the Digital Crown, it seemingly allows me to play the puzzle outside the gallery. Unfortunately, if I so much as look at another app it may cause the puzzle to become blank and unplayable. Additionally, the ambient “music,” while nice, seems to be mandatory. I cannot figure out how to play a video or music from another app while working on the puzzle. This seems like a simple request. If these features could be re-worked, this would be an instant 5 stars from me..Version: 1.0.4

Really bad gameThere’s no reason for this app to be in an AR or mixed reality. Space doesn’t take advantage of the technology inside the Apple Vision Pro really disappointing no reason for it can’t believe it’s even listed as a great game doesn’t deserve to be on the App Store..Version: 1.0.4

Fun but could have a better UIWhen I think of puzzles I think of being able to group pieces on a table. The view where I have to swipe back and froth only seeing a few pieces at a time is honestly going to keep me off this app for long durations. The swiping motion also sometimes takes me out of the app since its right next to the bottom of the screen. And its rough on the hands after a while. This is not a mobile friendly game and you would need an iPad of some sort to really use it. I would really love for this app to let me sort on the screen easier. I can technically put all the puzzle pieces on the board but I can’t see any of its color until I pick it up so sorting is really not going to work here. While this is like all your other games i would also love the ability to toggle on/off the background image as i feel that’s cheating and sometimes pieces just snap into their right place not making this a challenge but more so can i just find the general area this should go and the game will fill it in for me..Version: 1.9

ProblemsMy iPhone is overheating when using the app. Only since the update..Version: 1.3

Good butIt really needs a lock puzzle option if you want the puzzle base to not move. Every time I misplace a piece, when I go to correct it I accidentally drag all of the puzzle instead of moving the single piece. It’s really annoying and slows my progress..Version: 1.2

Gorgeous game, but massively buggyLove the game, as the art is gorgeous and the concept is fun. But after completing the tutorial image and one additional in that series, I selected a different art series…and now I can’t download any of the art puzzles. The game is effectively ruined as nothing will download. I’ve tried quitting it, reinstalling it, etc. My internet is fine—it’s an issue with this game. :( Quite sad..Version: 1.9.3

Controls are very cumbersomeFirst I want to say what a great implementation of a puzzle game. It is actually challenging and fun to work through puzzles plus the amazing artwork is just so good!! Now for the negative, the controls are pretty bad. Scrolling through the puzzle pieces while trying not to pick up every one you accidentally touch is quite frustrating. Pulling pieces from the bar to place on the puzzle is really tedious, if you don’t get a match the first time out you have to start all over. Drag the piece back to the bar and start again, the reason is because the second time around you have to fight the floating puzzle board all while not able to see the piece because it resides under your finger. Just a suggestion, maybe include a button isolates and locks certain objects from being acted upon..Version: 1.2

Great conceptFail..Version: 1.2

No option to hide image or text hintsI would like this if there was a view option to hide the hint image and hints text in the centre. At the moment it either shows edges of colourless image for the jigsaw pieces. Or it shows text in the centre which makes it to easy to complete. Options to add: 1 Fill image hint on edge and centre with no text option in the centre 2 Option to have blank canvas. 3 Option to hide red miss place of piece. Then I can play it like a real jigsaw puzzle..Version: 1.2

MehIt’s ok but the puzzle pieces are all in black and white and it makes the puzzle very difficult to do. You have the option to have the picture in the background but that makes it too easy. I like it without the picture in the background guiding you but making the pieces black and white ruins it.Version: 1.3

Syncing of data in between iPad and iPhone is very badSyncing of data in between iPad and iPhone is very bad. So many times I have been force to do the same puzzle twice.Version: 1.5.1

Clunky play for lefties. Needs to be more customizable.I am no stranger to puzzle games, but despite the beautiful artwork and relaxing music, I don’t crave playing it like my other puzzle apps. I realized the reason is because the gameplay is awkward. As a lefty selecting a piece from the right side, my hand is covering the space to which I’m trying to line up the piece. Please add a setting allow the dock to be moved to the left. Also, provide an option to sort the pieces so that edges can be completed first. I find switching between modes disruptive. Finally, an ability to remove the story text and read it after completing the puzzle would be appreciated. While the text does help with lining up pieces, I would rather look at the pretty artwork unobscured. I will check back occasionally to see if any of these requests have been implemented. There’s a lot of potential here. I’d love to be able to bump my score up to 5 stars..Version: 1.2

Please Help!!! Not Loading & Don’t Want To Lose Progress!!!I tried playing today and suddenly it’s not working. It loads like normal then I get the black screen where it tells me “Continuing Puzzle…” like it would when it’s loading the last puzzle you were working on except it stays there with the music playing in the background and won’t load any further. I’m so bummed because I’ve tried turning my phone off twice and it still does it. I’ve been playing this game for so long now and it’s my absolute FAVORITE!!! I’ve completed so many different series and I’ve been working on a series with 30 puzzles in it and I’m so afraid that if I have to delete the app and download it again, I will lose all my progress and achievements. I really hope that no one else is having the same issue. Does anyone know if I will lose all my progress or how to fix this without ruining everything???.Version: 1.7

It’s fine, but why is there no left handed option??Seriously, why is there no option to configure this for being left handed? It’s either having to reach across the board or keep moving your hand to see where it’s offset to. It’s fine otherwise, even if it’s just Patterned with different shape pieces..Version: 1.2

Nothing specialSame as the rest of the jigsaw apps except this one has an annoying zoom feature that has a mind of its own. Just let me place pieces without the map moving about. Not sure how this flaw got past alpha testing..Version: 1.2

Battery DrainLove the concept and very addictive! Apart from some minor control issues the biggest problem is battery drain. While running the app I can run my IPhone 14 Pro Max battery down by almost 50% in half an hour. The device also heats up considerably. Is the game that graphic intensive?.Version: 1.2

No soundI do like the pictures and storyline but I cannot suffer the music issues which is no music at all. I look the profile on Apple Store is great which I can hear the music but when I download, I cannot! Too depressed, I was really like it..Version: 1.5

Would give more stars if settings were betterI really like this App, but find the background very difficult to see. Especially when light areas are highlighted on the grayscale background. White writing in those highlights are also very difficult to see even when you zoom. Option for accessible contrasting colours would be helpful. When I merge the background it does darken but lose the story. With these fixes would give 5 ⭐️.Version: 1.6

New updateNew update has made it hard to play, puzzle pieces do not match your finger postion, so when you drag a puzzle piece it makes it difficult to slot them in the correct position.Version: 1.3

No sound……oooh, how outrageously cheeky 😱 for your response to my review you get one star. I am offended you think I behold such low intellect! The sound was turned right up. The settings were never touched. My device’s sound is working. I was promised a build up of music and music I got for the first few pieces and then after that it stopped. I suggest you have a nasty bug 🐛 in your system that has so far gone undetected. You seriously need to sort out the jumping around as well (and I am not the only one who has mentioned that). I may not have the intellect of Einstein but my autistic brain can easily work out how to turn up the sound on my iPad and it knows when something brings on ennui. Oooh look a strange word, what does that mean 🤔.Version: 1.4

Paintings don’t downloadVery good app but it doesn’t download the paintings , I have to keep reinstalling the app to download paintings.Version: 1.2

Non optimal controlsThe game is ok but the controls let it down as it conflicts with the iPhone touch areas to do things like multitask with other apps or slide up to close etc. as a rule any controls at the bottom of the iPhone are prone to this..Version: 1.2

App issuesI have been playing this game since January 13th 2023 i have really enjoyed playing it but since I’ve started the puzzle Night trip in dream land every time I add a peace to the puzzle my app closes..Version: 1.2

Puzzles are interesting, piece navigation is horribleI’m maybe a quarter of the way through my second puzzle. The designs are interesting. The piece navigation UX is horrible on iPhone. Every time I try to scroll the pieces, it’s a toss up whether it actually scrolls, immediately stops scrolling and selects a piece, or switches to a different app (since it’s a side-swipe near the bottom of the screen). The “select a piece to place” action is also unreliable - tap/hold on a piece and start dragging towards the puzzle. Sometimes it picks up, sometimes not. Finally, when pulling a piece from the tray, it moves about a half inch above my finger so I can see where it’s going to be placed. If I drop it on the puzzle and have to move it again, it’s directly under my finger. This could be a great, relaxing game, but it’s ruined by bad UX..Version: 1.2

So soAs others have said, charming images but some really annoying problems! There’s no puzzle “lock” button to secure it in place. The text is pleasant to read - if it wasn’t in the puzzle. Why can’t it just be on the puzzle menu screen as an introduction to the image? As others have said, I would rather have the whole image in a subtle grey without the text - just put the text somewhere else! I’ve also discovered a bug where in the middle of play the app will close - I’ve removed the app in frustration and re uploaded it because I loved it. Such a shame!.Version: 1.2

Odd design choiceI like this puzzle app a lot. It has a great selection of pictures from many different artists. There’s something for everyone. The reason I can’t give it more than three stars, however, is that you’re forced to work on the edges before you can work on the center. You can see puzzle pieces that would go somewhere in the center, but the center of the picture is blurred out and it’s all white, so it’s impossible to know where they would go. Instead you have to scroll through all the pieces that you can’t use to find the ones you can. Obviously it doesn’t matter too much because many people have given this game high ratings, but when an app like this becomes more frustrating than relaxing, there’s no point in keeping it..Version: 1.7

It could be better. If you're looking for a good puzzle app this is not it, yet. There's no way to see the picture in full and in color aside from the pieces you've assembled. The background is a muted gray scale. You cannot organize the pieces on the board as the pieces will turn red on the board when not in the correct space. I understand this is trying to be more artistic and casual by weaving a story with a series of puzzels by an artis, but I don't understand why it can't be both. With just a few additional settings a tweaking you could have one of the most beautiful puzzle apps for die hard puzzle lovers and a casual easy play artistc app as well. With all of that said one whole star was lost just for one small yet infuriating reason. When you complete a puzzle there is no next or continue button to bring up the next in the series. You have to go back out to the main menu scroll all the way back to the series you were playing and then select the next puzzle..Version: 1.9

Complexity doesn’t mean a better gameI was looking forward to the game coming out but the extra elements added take away from what could potentially be a great game. Switching between the two modes is annoying to complete the puzzle and the text doesn’t add anything. If you want to keep the text add that in when the puzzle is completed. I can understand the developer trying something different but it just doesn’t work and takes away the beauty of the images and what could be a relaxing game. Please update with a mode which is a puzzle and nothing else..Version: 1.2

Dreamy but drearyI love the idea of this game, but am I the only one who finds the illustrations very unsuited to jigsaw puzzles? They are beautiful, but so dreamy and dark, with indistinct edges and images. And the instructions to increase/decrease visibility are difficult to understand. And, each time you change them you have to completely exit the puzzle you are working on. The text on the image is lovely, but it is a shame that you have to use the letters to complete the image. Otherwise there is no way you could distinguish between a million shades of dim gray..Version: 1.4

It’s a jigsaw with a lot of extra waffleApp deleted. Time on device, 90 seconds..Version: 1.2

Battery!!!Seriously. A jigsaw puzzle that can eat 80% of my battery life in half an hour?? Why are so many Apple Arcade games so unnecessarily heavy on battery life and why isn’t this spotted before release? Nice and all, but ouch!.Version: 1.2

Wow! Great art! Frustrating puzzle experience!REVISED: I increased my one star rating to 3 stars after the latest update. Still needed: 1) Get rid of text entirely except when puzzle is finished; 2) show full puzzle ghosted as in Patterned; 3) add smaller puzzle piece option. ORIGINAL: I am SO disappointed with the lack of playability! You hide most of the puzzle in picture mode. And Word mode is a bust - Who wants to put a puzzle of only words together - it’s MIND NUMBING! The words should only reveal themselves when you finish the puzzle. The magic is in the gorgeous illustrations but what a awkward puzzle app! You can’t see anything but the edges in picture mode - w h y ? Word mode is too dark to see the picture underneath. It’s like you thought and thought and thought about how to make the most irritating experience possible and then unleashed it on the poor Arcade players for kicks. No lock button? It should lock by design! I scrolled through the wonderful illustrations and mourned that they weren’t in a better designed app. I hope you come to your senses and scrap the word mode entirely - it’s boring beyond belief!.Version: 1.3

Cancel story modeI grew up playing 5000-piece puzzles. It is such an intensely visual activity. I was quite excited about this game but the words over picture thing is a total buzzkill. It is for armatures who lack attention to imagery detail. Ruins the whole thing for me. I’m here to satisfy my intense visual instincts, not to read some nonsense text. Please cancel the story feature or at least add a button to turn it off (so you have the entire picture as background without blank center). Thank you. Otherwise great game. Would’ve kept my arcade subscription just for this..Version: 1.2

High potential, Disappointing PlayIf puzzle play worked more like the tutorial this would be a great game. As is the gray scale play for edges is very frustrating. When you start Van Gogh you really start to wonder why it works this way. The puzzle image is faint, the pieces are faint and when you get a piece in the right place they blend into the gray scale. I’m 16 puzzles in and I don’t understand why the pieces should not start and continue to show full vivid color. This is definitely an accessibility issue. I can’t imagine someone with some mild eye issues trying to play. MAKE THE PIECES FULL COLOR. It doesn’t make it easier but it sure makes it enjoyable. Hard to appreciate the art when you can only see in full color when it’s solved..Version: 1.3

CatastrophiqueDesign superbe. Les illustrateurs ont produit un très beau travail, mais… l’application plante une fois sur deux au démarrage, quand ce n’est pas tout le temps. De plus, elle fait également planter la carte son du iPad. Les redémarrages deviennent de plus incontournables. Dommage….Version: 1.9.1

Not good on the iPhoneI can’t speak to the quality of this game on the iPad but on even the largest iPhones (I have an iPhone 14 Plus) the screen is just too small to make the experience enjoyable. If you don’t zoom into the picture, the pieces are too small to be able to place with any sense of accuracy, and the guidelines are just plain useless at the default settings. Bizarrely, the only way to zoom is to use the menu on the side (rather than pinching in and out). Of course, when zoomed in, it means you need to drag the frame around a lot. Even the simplest puzzle in this game (the one you start with) is basically an exercise in frustration. After I finished the first puzzle I had a horrible headache. I can’t recommend this game. At least on the iPhone. At all..Version: 1.2

Crashes on larger puzzlesNice game overall, sometimes it’s difficult to pick up a piece to move it. Love the images and the ability to just piece the puzzle without the words. What I don’t love is that when I got to puzzle 14 in Dreamlands, the game crashed multiple times while I tried to scroll through the pieces. I finally gave up and just forced my way through placing the pieces in the order they were presented, and that mostly worked, although I did still have a couple of crashes. I did not have this problem on any of the smaller puzzles. I’m going to take a break from this game and will come back when it’s had an update. Love the concept!!.Version: 1.2

FrustratingFound it really frustrating the way the side panel constantly jumps to the location of pieces that you touch when you’ve placed them in the puzzle and they aren’t in the correct place. It was annoying then having to try and scroll back to the piece that I wanted to place. Also hate that it magnetically drops pieces in place and locks them if you happen to luckily place them randomly where they should go and that they don’t connect if you place the correct pieces next to each other but in the wrong location. A lot of unnecessary scrolling and dragging and dropping. These things make it annoying and I found I was more frustrated than relaxed..Version: 1.9.1

Almost greatI love puzzles that don't need fast reactions, having shaky arthritic hands. This is so frustrating as there is no way to lock the puzzle, so every shake and the whole thing has moved yet again. Please fix this asap for the less dextrous? Otherwise very smooth response, and clear when the pieces are in the right place. Its a shame you cant turn the background off for those of us who like a harder puzzle, and you cant change the number of pieces in a puzzle so they’re all very quick to do. The pictures themselves are lovely, and a wide selection. So I find despite loving the style, I can’t give this more than an OK until the game is better for all abilities..Version: 1.2

Could Be EnjoyableThe art works are beautiful. Enjoy the background music. I like the option to switch the mode between pictures and words. It would be more enjoyable and relaxing if it was not so glitchy. The puzzle pieces are difficult to select. I am using an iPad and when attempting to select a piece, i have to attempt 3-4 times before the piece will actually move. Then most of the times the actual puzzle moves around and resizes itself while attempting to place the piece on the puzzle. i will have to stop on puzzle 4 because it is sooo frustrating and not really enjoyable. Would appreciate it to know when these glitches get fixed when or if they do. Otherwise, would not recommend especially for a child ( you might end up with an ipad or iPhone fly pass you as it gets tossed.).Version: 1.2

CrashingI really like the look of the game but I get part way through a puzzle and the game crashes, updated game today and it literally crashed my iPad! Going to have to delete..Version: 1.3

Spoiled by its own conceptReally gorgeous illustrations that would make magnificent puzzles but the either/or concept ruins the experience. You can never see the whole illustration while solving so don’t get the time and immersion in the picture that puzzle solving lends itself to. I would recommend playing “Puzzled” by this same game developer instead - all the beauty without the problems. When solving work by canvas artists, you can see the brushstrokes, the blending of colours, peek at the underlay and decode changes in direction, speed and depth of strokes. So much more to appreciate about the painting and it’s process other than a cursory glance at the subject matter. When solving work by artists who incorporate fine detail, whimsical ideas or funny scenes, you find them as you puzzle. But not in this game. It forces you to see only part of the picture, to engage in the mechanics of puzzling without the artistry. And in the story mode, the picture is obscured by the words, making it even harder to enjoy the illustrations. “Puzzled” offers many game options to make the puzzles easier or harder, more obscure or more immersive. “Illustrated” would be much improved by providing a suite of game options to allow the user to play in a way they prefer..Version: 1.2

Too much struggle to move pieces!I have played many puzzle apps and built IRL puzzles and never before have I encountered one so difficult in moving the pieces into location or shifting them. Drag time is bad. Sometimes when I’d try to move a piece the whole page would move instead. This is on my iPad. And even if I find two or more pieces that fit together apart from the puzzle (like one can do in real life and in other puzzle game apps) when I correctly join them they don’t stay joined together to move as one “block” as one would do in regular puzzles or other puzzle apps. That aside, the pieces move more easily in the sister “Patterned” puzzle app..Version: 1.2

Some novel but not well implementedThe idea of being able to switch between a piece of art and a textual story is intriguing. However, as most jigsaw puzzle games have a detailed reference picture off to the side, this has it extremely faded in the background and you lay the pieces directly over the top. In fading the background, way too much contrast is lost, taking with it almost all helpful details. This game literally gives me eye strain and headaches. I will be deleting it..Version: 1.6

Multiplayer not functionalMy partner and I both love this game, however when trying to use the multiplayer mode it won’t work. Please PLEASE fix this so we can enjoy it together..Version: 1.3
