✓ Love this appSooo I love this app so much it's helped me a lot. I'm 17 and its actually really fun to use I've showed my 12 year old brother the app because he's been really struggling with school and concentration. But by far has helped both of us learn more of what we need to know. I did end up failing my exams last year at school due to not studying or understanding any of it but I wish I had this app at the time it would of made me understand so much more. ✓ Great potentialAs a teacher and tutor, I find this a very engaging app which will help users to embed the basics such as times tables. The tasks are quick to do and varied, so perfect for short attention spans. Handwriting recognition is a good feature, but my left-handed son has found it very difficult for it to recognise what he is writing and it is even hit-and-miss for me and I’m right-handed. I also find the intermediate level quite easy -really only of upper primary school level here in the UK. However, there are many adults who struggle with confidence in Maths and it might help them to improve and allow parents be able to support their children at school. My other criticism is that it could benefit from adaptation for the European market. For example, some terms are different such as the term trapezoid, which is usually trapezium here. The time modules only use 12 -hour clock, whereas we also use 24-hour clock (military time). In the ‘Measure’ modules (which I do love the ruler function for), all measurements are in inches, whereas we usually use metric measurements such as centimetres. Before I start recommending this app to my students and parents, I feel this would really need to be addressed. However, having been using Duolingo for many years and having seen it’s evolution as an app, I’ve no doubt that this app will grow to be fantastic..Version: 1.9.1

✓ It enhances my schoolworkEver since I downloaded Duolingo Math, my schoolwork has improved an I find it easier to tackle harder subjects because I don’t spend ages figuring out simple multiplication chains or the eight times tables. I also feel a lot less stressed in tests because I know that I know the calculus questions and therefore I can spend more time on algebra or word problems. ✓ GreatIt’s an amazing app and all but my only problem is in one of the rounding questions it says 73 + 72 to the nearest 10. But 73 + 72 is 145 and usually when it’s a 5 it’s to the next ten (as an example, if I had 5, to the nearest 10 it would be 10) but the answer is 150 but apparently it’s not?? Duolingo as a while helps a lot both with my maths and learning languages however I am dyslexic which makes reading difficult and the background for this specific app can't be changed or anything so I've been having a bit of difficulty reading the questions and all that. ✓ A suggestion:I just got this app today and I already see very high potential. It’s very high quality like your other apps and the short lessons make it easier and more enjoyable to do math. Although, the first thing I noticed was the inability to write equations down while your in lessons. I’m a visual learner and when I don’t have paper next to me while doing math it makes the process a million times harder. So, I recommend adding a little notepad area. In the corner of lessons you could add a little button to open up a notepad area where you can write down everything you need to find the answer. After this you can x out of the application, and answer the question you’re currently working on. This could also be improved further by making the app sensor when you get the answer right in the notepad. I think this is a little thing that would make the app so much better. Especially for those who don’t like math (that’s me!) Thank you!! :) I really hope your team really does consider this. It would make the app amazing..Version: 1.9.1

✓ GreatI’m in primary school and about to move into secondary, I love the Duolingo languages app and so i got the math app as it’s my worse subject. I didn’t think it would help but I was very surprised because of how very supportive it was. It doesn't just focus on times tables it also does fractions, decimals, tenths ect, I really enjoy this app,not only does it help school kids like me but it trains the brain as adults and you can pick which one to focus on, so for me I picked and the elementary school basis so that I would learn things I would need in school. ✓ It’s perfect!, well not really.I just downloaded the app and it was a good start. No paying, no vip asking I just logged in and…. The start was epic! I looked at all the math stuff you could learn like : addition, subtraction, times tables, division, fraction and area and permiter.. then I wanted to play fractions, since I was struggling in school I got to say this is like perfect for kids until I had to say goodbye.. I kept playing and getting streaks but one day I lost my streak 😭 I kept losing my streak over the weeks and I had enough 😡so I deleted it. One thing imo that would help is an explanation of how the different maths work, especially if you’re not brilliant at maths, as it would help people to learn how to do the maths as well. Atm there is only a right or wrong answer - with no explanation of how to do the maths if you got it wrong, so if you don’t understand what to do to rectify the answer you’re stuck! ✓ Great app for practicing simple arithmeticUsing the techniques developed for language learning, Duolingo Math is great for practicing those skills I learnt in school all those years ago. I dropped a star because it’s focus on imperial units is rather USA-centric. How about an option for those of us in Europe to focus on metric measurements instead? Though whatever the units, the practice is still relevant. It would be great to have some more advanced material in the app. How about having units in trigonometry and algebra, including quadratic equations? This app is not the best app to learn how to do methods (division eg.) and it does not ask you word problems.
