✓ Great game overall; don’t enjoy having to repeat levelsIt’s a match-3 game. Nothing earthshaking, but it doesn’t have to be. I’m almost at level 300, and there have only been a few levels that I spent the 500 (or 2x500 once) to get 5 extra moves. Sure, I’ve had to replay a couple of levels 8 or 10 times, but since I’m not losing lives and running out of attempts, it’s ok. My only issue with the game is that it keeps setting me back a few levels. Like, I spend the seeds, get the plants, and watch the dialog…then the next time I come back to the game, I’ve lost several levels, have to rebuy the plants, and rewatch the dialog. It’s not enough to make me delete the game, but it is getting old in a hurry..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Not complete?Also had the weird tutorial review levels but on the last garden; the orchid one there aren’t enough levels to earn enough leaf coins? The red ones; to unlock all of the plants and animals for the garden. I apparently made my way through all of the available levels and just have bonus levels that don’t even let me earn both types of coins It was a fine game. I clearly played a lot. The gardens and characters are cute and thought went into them. But I think I got to a point several hundred levels ago where I could have gone for either the flowers changing based on the garden you were working on and/or new game mechanics because nothing really changes once you get the different obstacles you need to clear (daikon, snow, grass, boxes, lawn, moving water and maybe im missing one or two) now I’m questioning why played so much haha. Anyway it is nice and calm compared to others match 3 style games but still room for innovation and surprises..Version: 1.4.0
✓ The most relaxing and visually refined match-3 game that I’ve played.I love growing a garden through progression. I love the little facts about veggies that you can see within your catalogue. The feature of letting you zoom into your garden in the perspective of the animals is great. I like just leaving my iPad on the side with the screen being left on a wandering animal because its so pretty, especially with a fully grown garden. The actual gameplay is focused on making you feel good. Its very much on the easy side 200+ levels in and there are some overpowered combination of specials that can easily sway a level you could have had difficulty with. You won’t have to worry about being a perfectionist because your performance isn’t being graded. And the music within the levels are so elegant and well made. Hearing some of them for the first time gave me shivers. I don’t care much for the stories being told on each garden. The writing and dilemmas really don’t feel engrossing, in their 20 second-long chapters in between progressing. Its just alot worth skipping in my mind..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Nice little game.I do wish that there was more of a customization element, but other than that I enjoy the game. I love that there are no lives or energy or anything that limits gameplay. You can try a level again as many times as you want to in a row. Not a cash grab either, which I appreciate. I’m on level 348 and I haven’t felt the need to buy anything ever. Which actually makes me MORE likely to buy things sometimes to support developers who aren’t greedy. So I have spent a little money on it, but never because I thought I had to or it wasn’t any fun without it. The dialogue could use a bit of proofreading for the English, but nothing too bad. ✓ Cute game, a little unbalancedI love the look and feel of the game. It’s adorable. The concept is cute. I would love to keep playing it. I’m on the third garden at level 126. I’ve found that gaining the power ups and boosters is nearly impossible since around level 80. Initially I had so many and I had a lot of coins to buy them with. But now I’m stuck doing some levels 10+ times because they’re difficult and boosters and power ups or increasing the number of moves would help. You don’t receive any reward for a failed level so you can’t do anything but keep restarting if you’ve run out of any boosters, power ups or coins to buy them with. I don’t mind difficult. I don’t mind restarting levels multiple times but there needs to be, for me, a better balance of that. It’s beginning to take away the fun of the game..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Candy Crush WHO?!This app is so pretty and relaxing. Oh my god. I’m in love with it. I’ve had the app for three days and I’m on level 142 because I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s slightly story-driven, so you’re engaging in a narrative as you go through the levels. There is no “star” system where you get 0-3 stars for how you perform on a certain level, which is honestly not missed even a little. The music is incredibly relaxing and the sounds are so satisfying, especially as they’re paired with haptic feedback. 10/10 would recommend.Version: 1.3.2
✓ Buggy but a nice, challenging gameI agree with other comments and feedback. LOVE the graphics and the animals. My issue(s) with this game are that the algorithms used to generate « next » moves appear to be buggy. I have encountered situations where there is only one move at the beginning of a level and the next move requires a shuffle. Next, there will only be one possible move again, followed by a shuffle. I have also encountered situations where there are no legal moves but the game won’t shuffle requiring a restart of the level — even if I have used a booster (which is then gone). Last, some levels are incredibly difficult. And hopefully, the developers are reviewing metrics from those levels based on gameplay to modify as necessary. I played level 375 at least 40 times over the course of 3 days (probably more if I am being honest). I was just about to can the game when somehow I won. HOWEVER, I have sent screen shots to the developers and they have been responsive. That is why I rated this game 4 stars instead of 3. On a side note: Their other game Two Dots is awesome. ✓ GreatI really enjoy the game, and I think the semi recent update where the new garden was added was really helpful to the game. The daily rewards, being able to play still to get more in game currency even if you’ve finished what’s currently available is nice. All the new things you guys added I would say definitely made the game better. My only issues are 1. the same thing everyone else complains about, sort of. some of the levels do feel nearly impossible without anything to help and sometimes the help does nothing. i just repeat the level over and over again until i eventually get it. i will say the methods added recently have made getting boosts more attainable. 2. this is not too big of an issue, i just keep finishing the game before you guys make more gardens. so i just wanted to make it known that i’m done and want more animals lol. i’m sure you guys are working hard on the next update, i just can’t wait!!.Version: 1.1.1

✓ Cute game but stuck on bonus levelsThe game is adorable and I love that you don’t have to pay. Some levels are ultra challenging but you can just keep playing to beat them. I really love this game, but on the mushroom garden it put me into the bonus stages and I can’t complete the garden. How many bonus stages are there? This never happened with the other gardens before they updated to get new ones. Also, I can’t pull weeds now that I’m in the bonus stages. I emailed customer service and they said congrats on getting to the bonus stages, but didn’t address my questions. Despite the glitches I’m having I love this game and I hope they will release an update to fix them..Version: 1.6.0

✓ Great Game but game is glitching againOn bonus level 268. The weeds are not able to be pulled out and they just accumulate and accumulate. If you try and go ton another area, there are never weeds. However, the “new”desert garden remains covered with them. I love this game and it’s so relaxing, but I have never played a game that is updated with so little new content and levels. I think there has been one update with new levels since the inception of this game on App Store. Do you only update with new levels or areas annually? It’s a shame because I really enjoy the game. It keeps me preoccupied and is relaxing while still being a match 3 game without all the things that are annoying. The only reason I have kept Arcade was because of Sping and this game. I have many others from the App Store that are great, but I can always find something similar without the monthly fee. These two are unique. ✓ Love this game!I’ve been waiting for the release and been playing since the game first came out! I’m on lvl 500 something now. I feel as though sometimes they don’t give enough moves on the hard lvl, like it’s not hard just you have less moves to make so I think making the lvl more harder is better then just giving less moves on an easy lvl. I also think they listen when you have a bug issue definitely as they resolved my complaint. ✓ Greatest game ever!First of all I would like to say how brilliant this game is. Very relaxing and it’s fun to meet all of the animals. I have one problem though, but I don’t know if it’s just me with my beginner brain or if it’s a bug. (I’m only on level 15 so far.) So in the bar thingy that tells you how many more things you need to buy to find a new animal, there’s the little purple speech bubbles. I think they are when a dialog is meant to pop up but nothing happens. I’ve tried tapping on them and the bar but it doesn’t bring it up. Other than that mild annoyance this is one of my favourite games on Apple Arcade! (The others being ‘Sneaky Sasquatch’ and ‘Mini Motorways’.) This new garden will not let me tap weeds to clear them & the animals don’t to their cute flips & stuff when I tap. ✓ Good. Could be better!Overall, an enjoyable game. So far I have only three nitpicks - 1) there are too many superfluous screens. I don’t need to know what the goals are twice before starting the game, for example. Another example is the brief screen before a game loads showing what you get when making certain matches. It’s a little annoying when you’ve been playing for a while. Or, getting a gift, clicking on it, being shown what it is, then having to click again on ‘claim’ on the next screen to then “get” it. Same thing happens when completing a puzzle. 2) the game freezes on me every now and again. It’s infrequent but it happens. 3) weeds are few and far between. Give us more weeds to pick! This is my favorite game, and I’m totally addicted to it except now it won’t load. Updated iPad to iOS. 16.7.2 and even updated game and it just won’t load. The night before it loaded with the previous iOS and older version of the game but in the morning it would not load so that’s when I updated my iOS endgame version. It loaded one time and now won’t load again something needs to be fixed. ✓ Relaxing game at nightUpdate: Since the latest update I can’t pick weeds on the newest garden…nothing happens. Now I have a ton of weeds and it looks crappy. Also one of the cactus that you plant doesn’t show up. Not a huge deal but it’s annoying for sure. First I love playing a game without having to watch an ad. I’m so glad this one is in arcade. I also like that it’s not pay to play. I have been playing for a while and each level offers different level of difficulty. It seems each level is pretty fresh and not repetitive. I’m on the last garden and level 554. The only “negative” thing I can say is offer more amounts of seeds and coins for the harder levels (orange or red). There doesn’t seem to be incentive to beat them really. Also, with the red levels, you more than likely have to use a power up and those cost coins. Like 50 coins for green levels, 75 for orange and 100 for red. Seeds I’m ok with grinding out but it would be nice to gain more seeds for the red levels. Other than that, it’s a solid game, not easy, not hard…just perfect. I’ll definitely give it 5 stars if we can get a boost in coins/seeds. Definitely in my top 3 game list..Version: 1.3.1

Some nights I wake up during the night and find myself not being able to go off to sleep again, but I get this game out and within an hour I’m relaxed right down enough to be able to go back to sleep again. ✓ Pretty good but some quirksEdit: I forgot this - sometimes levels just don’t show you how many moves you have. The number doesn’t show up, but once you get to 5 moves or less the twinkling “panic” effect still shows. Ha. As of just a minute ago, I completed the last available garden after level 522. It is true, as other reviewers have noted, that some levels just come down to luck - you have to try them again and again and hope the stars align. Fortunately this isn’t a game that uses the “energy” mechanic, and you’re not limited to tries. Here are some things that stuck out to me: 1) no matter how hard the level, you still gain the same number of “seed points,” which is kind of annoying. Surely I should get more points for a “super hard” level than the tutorial levels at the beginning, especially when the prices increase as the game goes on. 2) several times, I chose the second “keep playing” option at 750 coins that promises ten more turns and a butterfly, but no butterfly! 3) after level 500 or so, I randomly got tutorial information again. Yep, that’s a carrot. Got it. 4) I’ve finished the available game and there are 3 achievements I don’t have - 15 birds in garden, earning a certain number of coins, and hidden. I don’t really care but it’s strange! 5) in the Japanese garden, sometimes the koi are swimming through the grass which is hilarious..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Edit: I have an idea on how to fix the economy.First off, I love this game! I play it at night for some mindless relaxation. I’m currently up to level 125. Unfortunately, the economy is rather harsh or doesn’t make sense for Apple Arcade, perhaps this was originally designed for micro-transactions? No matter what level you are up to, the most gold coins you can get is 50! It’s laughable when you consider that to get another measly five turns will cost 500 gold, and power-ups cost in the thousands. All this while the game gets harder and harder. It takes a long while to build up when you only get 50 each game IF you do well. The power-ups are satisfying, especially when they cross with the butterfly. I personally find the grass ones a bit hard. It would be nice if you could change the economy part. If this was a micro-transactions game I would have called it greedy. But it’s not even necessary in Apple Arcade. Please adapt appropriately. For us addicts. 🌸 EDIT: My idea is to be rewarded gold coins for each power-up we make in game. For example, for each rabbit, 100 gold, bird 250, butterfly (rare) 1000 and so on. This way we can’t get stuck on the same difficult level without gold to spend, as each try we make gets gold coins that we can then use to purchase helpful power-ups. ✓ Candy Crush KillerIt’s candy crush, but incredibly wholesome, and not designed to manipulate you into in-app purchases. Graphics and gameplay are amazing, music is perfect, and there’s this whole story and garden building context that completes it. And it also has amazing writing, which I respect a lot because they could have easily phoned it in. But the writing actually takes the quality of the experience to a whole new level - the conversations are emotionally intelligent, humorous, and genuinely enjoyable. I was looking at this to download for my youngest daughter, but I’m now getting it for all my kids and myself. And probably my wife. This is easily my new favorite game. There are a few issues the major one being the achievements, there are a couple that even though you meet the requirements, never unlock its very frustrating when you want to complete them all. The tracking in the matches is also a bit off, VERY often when you try to make a match the tile will go in the wrong direction and not make the match you intended to. I could tell by going into the puzzle then wondering if I did this one already which I have although this isn’t the worst issue 2. ✓ Perfectly Good GameI’m absolutely confounded by all the reviewers who are running out of coins and bonuses. I’ve completed all the way through the Japanese garden (which I think is something like 400+ levels) and am now on bonus level 102. I still have 23,357 coins to use if I need them, and all my bonus items are full. This game gives you everything you need to succeed, and I’ve only felt that bonus items or extra turns were NEEDED to win maybe 10 times in this whole game. I think a lot of people are too used to spending a ton of cash on “pay to win” games and aren’t trying hard enough to learn any strategy. I’m not even very good at these kinds of games, but I haven’t hit a single point of frustration. Everyone is complaining about the bonus levels but I’m pretty sure they working on more and they will come out when ready. Take a deep breath and play something else or the bonus level. Most Arcade seems to be like this, you’re not meant to 24/7 them but we do and then we have to wait for an update..Version: 1.6.0
✓ Enjoyable even with the flawsOverall fun game even with the bugs. Like the move counter disappearing or the tutorials showing up in later levels. Right now I’m in the new garden and it’s only giving me bonus levels, which would be fine if it gave you the buy garden stuff currency. But it doesn’t. So now I’m stuck waiting for the developer to make new levels so I can finish the new garden. Normally I would rate lower for that but I am super later game so I feel like I got a good amount of game out of it before this. Personally I wish they gave out more boosters, as sometimes it feels like it was made to sell coins but you obviously can’t buy them so you get stuck easily and have to wait for the daily rewards to bail you out..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Not a bad startSince the game came out I’ve completed all the gardens and am currently at level 408. I’ve enjoyed the game so far with the nice animations, cute animals and music. My one concern is, what comes next? Sure, completing the puzzles to get seeds to unlock new animals is fun but will it still be fun when I’m on the 30th garden? I’m absolutely in love with their other game “Two Dots”. For me, the events, scavenger hunts and the amount/variety of achievements and avatars make the game worthwhile. (Even when I get frustrated with a level I find myself unable to stop playing.) This is the reason why I downloaded the game years ago and have never deleted it. With Garden Tails, I hope there will be something to help motivate me to continue playing the way I do with Two Dots. On another note, and I know this is a common thing, but I also hope they will make the scavenger hunts from Two Dots it’s own game. That might be the one thing that breaks my attention away from Two Dots..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Don’t Earn Seeds after reaching “bonus” stagePlayed the heck outta this, really like the music. It’s a cute time sync, however upon latest release of next story, I can’t earn the currency to progress the story. Would also like to mention “bonus” implies some type of reward beyond the usual or something greater than the preceding, so earning only 10 coins at the end of the level is such a disappointment! You should probably just take that bonus stage/don’t earn seeds thing out, if you’re still releasing new chapters. I am currently stuck with no way to earn seeds to progress the story..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Great merge game without microtransactionsI’m a sucker for merge games, but I’ve always hated that every single merge game is a pay-to-win system. This game is a welcome breath of fresh air as it lets me enjoy a game mechanic I love, without the overwhelming amount of ads or purchase prompts. I do wish you could turn the hints off during games, sometimes the hint distracts me from the rest of the board and they’re not always great moves.Version: 1.0.2
✓ Recent updates changed to 5 stars for meRight now this is my favorite puzzle game on arcade. A month ago I had some of the same frustrations as others. However the developers have been responsive to feedback. There are now daily rewards of power ups or tools and coins and a large bonus for finishing a garden. While some of the levels have been challenging, I haven’t been stuck on any for days the way it was before the upgrade. I play to relax, so I love that it has a very wholesome, non drama feel. ✓ Great game, Awesome SupportI really love this game. Oh so cute, and I know there’s a fox in it (haven’t gotten to her yet, there’s this one very tricky level that I can’t beat yet, but that’s beside the point of this review), and I have very strong emotional ties with foxes. I usually only rate four stars as my highest, because nothing is ever perfect, but this game gets that star just for the fact that the devs listened to my earlier comment, and fixed the issue fairly quickly. The graphics are good, the interaction between the animals is something you don’t see very often (or at least, I don’t), there are some really good lessons that this game has to teach, the little facts about the plants are really interesting, the list keeps going.
