✓ Almost, but not quiteI was really excited to see this in Apple Arcade, since I love a good Match 3 game. This comes out of the blocks pretty well; decent graphics, cute story, nice puzzles and sounds. But as the game goes on, the level difficulty and the lack of ways to get coins are ridiculous. There is no daily incentives for play, no way to earn coins by anything but completing levels. I like a little difficulty, but I don’t want to play a level over and over again for hours, trying to advance. I made it as far as the Japanese Garden, and I would love to finish, but I think I am done. Make it easier to get coins and boosters, or forget it. I’ll go back to playing Simon’s Cat, where at least there are daily rewards and challenges so I can feel like I am making getting some rewards. And I finished the story in Simon’s Cat several times…. After a very disappointing interaction with the developers, I am done with this game…..Version: 1.0.3
✓ CuteThere’s a lot of bugs but the most frustrating one since launch has been the lack of proper save states. It doesn’t save when you close the game. It doesn’t even save when you complete a level or unlock a reward. It appears as if it just saves maybe every 10 minutes (or some set time period). Often I’ll re-open the game later in the day and have to watch the same cut scene again, or unlock a reward I already took, or play the same level again. The TV app is also terrible. The cursor makes it difficult to navigate the menu and when you do finally get into a game, the sensitivity is so high that it selects tiles on the opposite end of the screen with just a feather’s touch! It really should be made to work with the click wheel instead. Shame because ultimately it’s a very cute game for mindless fun.Version: 1.4.0

✓ Broken on Apple TVRecent update means that you can’t get further than collecting your daily reward. As soon as you click to collect, the cursor vanishes and you can’t close the reward screen. Even before this update, your cursor would often highlight something in the background and prevent you from starting a level, requiring you to close and reopen the app. A little “tap to close” button is there but I’m unable to select it. And I can’t exactly prod my tv screen….Version: 1.2.0
✓ Fix the programmingI like match threes and I hoped that, with a subscription to Apple Arcade, I would get one that didn’t play like one where you basically have to drop cash on power ups to get ahead… Nope. While I may not be sinking extra cash into the app, there are a number of levels that will trap you for just as long as a pay to progress match three. The birds, which remove a random tile after blasting the four around it always seem to choose the LEAST useful tile to remove, and the majority of the levels I get stuck on are not labeled hard or super hard. A number of these levels don’t benefit from using a power up at start because they have a small play area to begin with that can restrict their usefulness. The amount of bonus coins earned for extra moves retained at the end is limited to only 10, making the max amount of coins earned only 50, which seems rather stingy considering this is not a pay to progress game. While I understand that difficulty should increase as the game progresses, having a match three that is part of a subscription service play like one for a pay to progress is a rather rude thing to do to your customers, and it’s the ONLY reason I gave a two star rating..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Nice time killing game but…I’ve gone through this game and am on the second round of “bonus stages”. Like others, I find that I only get 10 coins and no seeds. Fine. The issue is that since I had so many seeds, I simply finished the latest update without getting to regular levels so I’m stuck on an endless bonus stage loop (stage 381) with no end in sight for getting more seeds and more coins. Not that the coins matter as I’ve already accrued more than the required amount to get the last achievement which is to get 100,000 coins but the game won’t recognise it. Getting the same 3 or 4 bonus levels every 3 or so levels makes it hard to continue wanting to play despite it being a nice looking game with animals that do random things like birds flying backwards, fish swimming on or through land and others running through each other like ghosts. Would love a fix for the above and will increase rating value..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Randomised puzzles become tediousLovely visuals and calming music, with a decent, virtuous storyline. Sadly, repeating the same increasingly impossible puzzles to maybe get a winnable starting set of tiles became too much like a full-time job after about Level 230-ish. (That’s about mid-way through the fourth garden.) I strongly suggest that the game developers abandon this very hit-or-miss method of auto-generating tile sets in harder levels—in favour of either bespoke level designs, or a waay groovier algorithm! :-).Version: 1.0.4

✓ Could be great, not worth the downloadNice premise, not “win-able” which is relaxing. There’s no time constraints or need to play every day which is nice compared to similar games. Unfortunately my data was consistently not saved or completely deleted and I’ve given up trying to restart. Feels clunky when navigating menu after completing a level and while graphics are pretty, they feel incomplete. When adding new plants, you often don’t even see it appear in the garden. The storyline conversations between entirely forgettable characters makes so little sense and seems to drag on. Disappointing for an arcade game..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Lots of PotentialOverall gameplay is nice! I like the simplicity of it, not a ton of side quests or add ons. Very straightforward, just do the puzzle and buy things for the garden. Can’t vouch for the story as I’ve mostly sped past the conversations between the animals (which I also appreciate the ability to do). Visuals are great, love the cute animals and beautiful garden scapes. Knocking off 2 stars because this game needs some major updates to the difficulty of some levels and/or an easier mechanism in order to get more coins for power ups in order to even have a single hope of getting past some of these levels. I mean, I like a challenge… but this is just an annoying level of difficulty with a added layer of annoyance at the fact that there is simply no way around it. Either get lucky or give up. ✓ Barely functionalI’ve been having so many issues with this game from the start. Sometimes when opening it I’ve suddenly lost half my progress despite being synched up, sometimes when I start a round it freezes while only half of the board has set up, and just now I reinstalled it because it would freeze every time I tried to start a round. Now it’s at the beginning of Verdant Villa with no progress made at all even though I finished it a while ago. It’s exhausting how many times something goes wrong, let alone the graphics issues (e.g. fish swimming on land in Tranquil Glade), characters vibrating in place, and speech bubbles not loading. I don’t even know if I’ll get all my progress back. The game is great but Jesus Christ is it shabby..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Decent game, could use updatesOne of the reasons I enjoy Apple Arcade is the ability to play games like this without the cash drain that comes from most games like this one. They are why I subscribe. That said, I feel like this one could use a little work. Some of the levels are missing the countdown in the upper left corner to know how many rounds you have which is troublesome. I find the monetary system to be slightly unbalanced and I am also hoping for additional events to be added as well. I do enjoy the theme a lot. I also like the opportunity to learn the names of plants and flowers as I play. That’s definitely a draw-to for me and not so much the story line though it is kind of cute..Version: 1.0.4
✓ ConfusedI want to start out by saying I love all the other games from these developers, I have played the dots games for YEARS now so i was excited to see another game by them. I’m mainly just confused. I think the graphics, particularly when the rabbits are jumping around the garden, to be quite janky. I think the graphics are outdated but maybe that’s just comparing to the dots games where everything looks great. Take the vegetables for example, some of the leaves don’t even connect to the plant etc. Playing it just seems like they rushed it a little bit. As for gameplay, I’m up to level 58. I had beaten every level up until 57 on the first go, however the games seems to have suddenly got so much harder at 57 and took quite a few goes and power ups to actually pass it. I don’t understand where the sudden difficulty increase came from, it wasn’t gradual. I guess I’m just confused at where this game came from and who it’s targeted at. I have played a game similar to this for years (collect coins to buy something and then slowly progress the “story” and then you move onto another story) and this isn’t a good format of what they are aiming for. Yes, it’s cute, it’s just very repetitive. The cuteness level and poor graphics seem like it’s aimed at children but the levels are far too hard for a child after level 57 and I also don’t think the excessive dialogue is great for kids either. I assume they are going for a deeper message of “humans have ruined the environment of these animals and now they are sad but we can still fix it”. I think it’s great and I hope more people enjoy this game, but it’s personally not for me and I have other games of this genre that I prefer a lot more over this one unfortunately. ✓ Fun , if it could not keep dropping my savesI emjoy games like this, especially when I'm not essentially being asked to pay money to play for longer than five minutes. This game however, unlike any other I've dealt with in the arcade repeatedly loses and forgets my saves and progress either starting me from the beginning or many days of progress earlier, entirely at random. Then, equally randomly my original correct save will pop up. If that issue could resolved I'd play more often, though I would like to say, that since this isn't a pay to win game, it would be nice if the seeds were easier to earn with more per level, and a few more moves to complete puzzles, a time limit would at least to me, be more fun than a number of available moves so low that I quit playing for long stretches of time out of frustration..Version: 1.2.0

✓ “Relaxing” Games Shouldn’t Have FailstatesWhy is there so much challenge in a game that is supposed to be relaxing? There really shouldn’t be a move limit, just let people keep playing and take their time to beat each level and that would be actually relaxing. Just make not meeting the move limit make it so you don’t get a bonus, that would be fine. Graphics-wise the match 3 game looks very nice and cute, but the gardens… are okay at best. Each plant only has one model and they don’t even try to hide it. It doesn’t look great. The animal models are fairly cute if a bit awkward moving. I really like this game’s aesthetic and I think it has a lot of potential but right now it is not a good game. Failstates have no place in relaxing games. If you’re afraid of running out of content without challenge just add an endless/zen mode. I would love to play that..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Fun but…I tried this game out. It was fun!!!! Was addicted for a while. Until it had too many issues not connecting properly and losing my progress. I wanted to try it again tonight and realized it’s in Apple Arcade!!!! I was wondering why Apple Arcade charged me!!! I didn’t realize. This would be why. ✓ FrustratingThe game started out great. It has really cute graphics and it was fun to build the garden and see the different animals that they introduce to each new garden, however, it soon became very frustrating higher up. At first you can either play a round a few times and win or you have plenty of coins to continue but then higher up boosters are useless and you never have enough coins. I found myself just logging in each day just to get the gift and log out until I got enough to beat a round only to find that I was in the same predicament again… They need to add mini games that are easier to win to earn coins/boosters and add more weeds to pull. Maybe even add more chores to upkeep the garden and take care of the animals to earn rewards. And to the one review that said “ooohh I have tons of coins and blah blah blah” either they are not high enough to see the problem or they are a friend to someone in the company… Funny how everyone else is complaining about the same things but them… Could be an amazing game, it’s sad that they don’t fix the issues but then again they probably don’t make enough to care on arcade games especially since they have p2w games also..Version: 1.1.1

After completing every update (where bugs allow, but the customer service is good), I wait such a long time for a new update, and then realise it's a few new levels then it just repeats levels again. This is tiresome and boring. So many bugs this time around. Levels can't be completed, weeds can't be collected, move count missing again. I don't want to be a tester for the game, I pay to play it. Poor show. I enjoy match games, so gave this a go. I've now completed it, it took around a week. Yes, there are a few bugs, which I reported using their email support and had a timely reply, but overall this is a delightfully slower game that you can relax to. ✓ Lazy work that showsWhen an app is built without any options for future revenue, the work is sloppy and unfortunately it shows here. When you begin, the game is forgiving and also indicates the normal, hard, and super hard levels. After a certain level, this goes down the dumps. Levels become badly designed with next to impossible odds, unless you spend everything you accumulated to keep on going. This holds true especially above level 300. In an instance, it became so bad that the game had to do 11 reshuffles, one after every move. It would appear that the number of moves is related to the variety of blocks given. The game believes h that this will make combos easier, hence the decimated number of moves. However, when you deal tiny grids, there’s no way to create any combo. This is a finite game that wants to portray as ever going. It’s not. After a certain point, it’s short of an unfinished product. Too bad, as it starts promising. If it included micro transactions, to e rating would be tanking even lower. Now I understand the extremely low rating for this kind of puzzle. Good effort, badly executed..Version: 1.2.0

✓ Needs improvement stillIt’s fun enough for the most part and very cute but has a bunch of balance issues. Power ups are crazy expensive but you’re limited to 50 coins per win meaning it’s impossible to buy them. I’ve been stuck on the same level for probably a week because I can’t use a booster at the beginning because there’s only one move by design so there’s no way for me to give myself a leg up- this level isn’t even listed as hard or very hard. You can’t go back and play previous levels to earn resources either. Some power ups don’t feel very helpful- the bird seems to always go to the least helpful tile it can go to while still technically fulfilling its duty of making a move that contributes to a victory goal. I also noticed that the move suggestions sometimes come up as you’re making a move and suggest something impossible. Overall it’s fun and cute but extremely frustrating at some points and still needs work..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Why are there boosters?Seriously why do they exist if they are nearly impossible to purchase? I have completed all of the available gardens and for nearly the entire time I had zero boosters or coins because they are ridiculously expensive. And when I did use them more often that not they were simply wasted. Did you guys just repurpose the system from some freemium game? Do you not understand how Arcade works and think you will somehow be able to sell them for real money? Making levels easier is not the answer. Giving way more boosters is the solution. They should be given daily for logging in. They should be given when you fail level. Getting a single booster as a “gift” after clearing 20 plus levels is an insult. How about a real reward like 5000 coins so you can actually buy a decent selection of boosters? The gardens and their inhabitants are adorable but it is not fun to replay a level repeatedly until it starts spawning endless boosters to allow you to clear it. It would be more satisfying to have a steady stream of boosters to deploy strategically. I can’t recommend this game until you rebalance the system..Version: 1.0.4

✓ So many bugsI love this game, but there are major flaws. Many have pointed most of them out. With the new update, I’m in the new Madagascar garden, which is great, but because I was in the “bonus levels” before, I’m no longer earning seeds. I’m earning just 10 coins per level. The bird that drops the seed basket appears after I win, but no basket is actually dropped, and no seeds are earned. That’s a bummer. For awhile, I couldn’t get past a level in the 600s. It would freeze on me after the first move & I could never get it to work, even after deleting & reinstalling. Also, as others have suggested, It’s frustrating to not be getting more seeds for the more challenging levels. And to be capped at 50 coins a level? That’s stupid. ✓ Fun until it isn’tI’m at level 375 and like other players I cannot get past this level. It was fun, easy at times, harder at times, but now it is impossible. I think there is a major glitch. If you want to play this game and get past this level I’d suggest saving up every in game booster you have until you get to this level because you are going to need them all when you do. ✓ Game is dead since Zinga took overIt was one of my top-favorite go-to games in Arcade, gorgeous graphics, no timer, superb to unwind after a stressful day, fun to learn about plants, great mechanisms and surprises, never boring.. Oh yes, the team would answer promptly if you discovered an issue that needed attention. No more. Out the window. Nada. I sent 4 really nice emails out, spaced out within 3 weeks, alerting about the complete stall, and the progression now in a loop called "Bonus," although the board is a current, open garden, not a temporary "wait for our next garden to open" option to play. Seeds accumulations are gone, which means there is no way to progress to the next set of plants. Which means, yes, the game is basically dead. Nice job, Zinga . . . This board game is so unique in its beauty and educational value.... I really feel bad for the authors and original team that poured so much enthusiasm and love into that little universe. It would be so easy to add a temporary splash page "Please bear with us while we fix things up..." we would all understand. Zinga, are you listening? I'm not holding my breath... ✓ No Way to Get CoinsThis game was really fun until I got to a puzzle that was really difficult. You can use coins to get extra turns to solve the puzzles, but the only way to get coins is by beating the puzzles. There is no other way to get coins. So I can't beat the puzzle because I have no coins, and I can't get coins because I can't beat the puzzle. Why wouldn't the developers let us get coins some other way, like maybe selling some of the flowers or vegetables we grow or something? Anyway, I'm totally stuck and since I can't buy coins with real money and I can't get coins by playing the game, it's just taking up hard drive space. Into the trash can with this game. It's a shame. I was really enjoying it until I hit this brick wall. I think this might be the first game the developers ever made and it shows..Version: 1.5.1

✓ What happens when a F2P comes to Apple ArcadeThis game doesn’t seem like it knows what to be on Apple Arcade. It’s a F2P game (“pay for power ups!”) without a pay concept, so good luck if you use them all. You earn new ones way slower than you can use them. Most levels are fun, but some are very frustrating and very luck-driven. You won’t want to use any power ups to get unstuck because it takes so long to get more. And you have to finish the levels to get the any significant amount of coins for more so if you’re stuck on a level you can get really stuck. The story is funny, but pretty shallow and slow to work through. Why there’s not story after each request is filled is a mystery to me. Also, if you care, once you make it to the end you’ll still have unearned, impossible to get achievements left. The next garden is “coming soon” making this game feel incomplete. In addition there’s some annoying bugs where the move count is off screen sometimes or the game freezes. Not too far from a great puzzle game, but not there now..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Fun, but badly balancedApple Arcade has a problem with match-3 titles. These games are almost always designed as pay-to-win games. Can’t get past that level? Pay us some money! Except on Apple Arcade, there are no IAPs, so you can’t do that. What happens is that you end up with extremely difficult levels that were clearly designed to bait you into spending some money to get past them. So with this game, let’s take level 246. There are two keys and a very limited number of spaces where you can actually move anything. Each key will need to move 14 spaces, so that’s 28 matches just for the keys. Then there are 6 radishes that you also will have to uncover spread out all over the board. But you only get 22 moves for all of this. The boxes are all level FOUR so it takes four matches to break those and they block even getting access to the key on the other side until you’ve broken through some boxes. This is simply never going to happen via skill. You will have to get INCREDIBLY lucky to get past this level. I’ve been trying for hours with no success, so for me the game is now over. ✓ Fun but GlitchyI really enjoy this game, but I’m running into some weird bugs. Some of the glitches are funny (koi fish spawning in grass, butterflies in pieces), and some are pretty annoying. I should have all of the achievements, but it’s not giving me credit for the bird watcher (when I have 20+ birds by my count), nor the big money (I currently have more than 140k coins). And now, since the latest update with a new garden, it won’t let me pull weeds. I saw a previous review talking about hitting levels with tutorials again around level 400. I’ve had that sporadically as well, but have been chalking it up to the game recycling levels because I had done so many..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Good, Bad, UglyFirst the good - this is a relatively simple game like candy crush. Now the bad - this game is very frustrating. It takes coins to continue levels but you have to win levels to get coins. Then the most coins you can win is 50, if you’re lucky enough to have moves left over. Not every level is hard, but you should be able to get more than 50 coins, considering you have to spend 500 to continue a level for only 5 moves. Also, the coins you get to “buy” the plants is not near enough. 230 per won level. Again, taking to long to play this game. The ugly - I have told a few people about this game and we all agree, it is fun but only if improvements are made. While I still have the game and continuing to play, the others have deleted it, which I probably will soon as well. This could be one of those games that keeps your interest for a while to pass time. However due to the above mentioned issues, if you lose a level more than a couple of times, you quickly tire of it. ✓ Unrewarding gameThe hand holding in this game is annoying and at times infuriating. The game gives you three seconds to think your next move before it outlines a possible move for you. That’s not be problem because it’s a 4+ game right, the problem is there’s no way to turn that option off 🤦🏻♂️ which makes this game unrewarding. Every stage you pass gives you the impression that you didn’t accomplish it on your own but there was always an assist, because there is 🤷🏻♂️.Version: 1.0.1
✓ Cancelled Arcade Subscription - Zynga ruined Garden TailsI specifically subscribed to Apple Arcade based on a friend’s recommendation that I would love Garden Tails, and I have loved it. I have played this game since it first came out on Apple Arcade, and it is the only reason I subscribed. Zynga has ruined the game. Not only are there multiple glitches, and they did not add enough levels to complete the newly released garden, but the color palate of the garden Zynga developed is all wrong, ominous looking. Nothing like the beauty of the gardens DOTS created. Seems like a really bad corporate decision to get rid of the DOTS team that created a truly beautiful, enjoyable game. Zynga should disclose that they are the ones who created this new garden, and not DOTS. ✓ No longer updating, had promiseI liked this game, though I found it a little easy. I played through all the levels very quickly and had over 40k in coins when I finished. I’ve been waiting for an update since it seemed like they were updating with new levels every month. When no update came after 2 months I searched online and found out that, “ Take-Two is closing down Playdots, and while it will keep supporting Two Dots, the future of other Playdots games isn’t clear” . Sadly it seems Garden Tails hasn’t made the cut. It’s too bad because it’s the only match-there game in Apple Arcade that I’ve found. There are bonus levels available, but turns out it get monotonous if it’s not broken up into sections. I’ll keep it on my phone for a bit just in case it gets new levels but I’m not holding my breath..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Almost impossible to progress without boostersThis game is lovely to play in the initial stages but then devolves quickly. The random nature of block drops remains unchanged but the level design is suddenly and acutely much more obstructive. Rewards and tile drops remain stable from the beginning resulting in an unbalanced game from around level 60 onwards. There is nothing the player can do to combat this except hope the tile drops are in their favour. Unfortunately the skill required to progress plateaus very early and any achievement from then on is primarily left to chance..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Needs New Gardens *Edits Added**Update-so after making several edits asking when the bugs are going to be fixed and getting no response from the developer, I changed my rating to a 2; I was going to adjust to one star, but the game has potential and started out great. The most recent gardens were definitely not the caliber of the first ones. In fact the newest garden is a hot mess; it looks like someone slapped it together on their lunch break or let their kid design it. DEVELOPERS-can you please have the courtesy to respond to the numerous complaints, fix the bug issues, and clean up the last two gardens. Love the game! It’s relaxing and building the gardens is enjoyable. I completed all of the gardens awhile ago and though I pop on most days to collect the daily rewards, it would be great if new gardens could be added. When will new levels get released? Edit: I began playing the level added with the new upgrade and the game’s glitches are annoying. I can’t clean up any of the weeds. I completed one set of cards, exited the game, and returned the next day to find all of my progress had disappeared. I really like the game but please fix the glitches. Edit 2: Seriously, when do you plan to fix the issues with the game? It’s not nearly as fun when it doesn’t work correctly..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Update IssuesLoved this game and had been playing it for quite a while. The latest update seems to have broken it. The goals no longer match up with the game that’s presented (e.g. break 10 green squares when there o\are only 8 on the board, and a blank goal which can’t be completed, when it looks like it should be clearing carrots). ✓ Cute game, poor updatesI’ve played a lot of hours in this game. I enjoy the gameplay and the art. The unfortunate part is the game developer’s lack of attention to detail around updates. Every time they release an update, it’s buggy and poorly checked. The most recent update does not have enough levels to finish the gardens, which is disappointing. ✓ It’s okI’m trying to like this game more than I do but it’s really hard to. Once you get into the later levels the flowers and plants cost way too many seeds compared to the amount you earn at the end of completing puzzles. Seed counts max out at 230 and coins max out at 50. Why? If you complete a level with more than 10 moves remaining you get 50 coins. The less moves you have left the coin reward is less than 50. I’m ok with that but if I complete a level and have 17 moves left why am I only getting 50 coins? I’m approaching puzzle 300 and a good bit of them absolutely do not give you enough moves to complete the level no that means spending coins on extra moves..Version: 1.3.1
✓ Nice game. Showstopper bugsI like this game. But every time I boot it up, I get some level I played a few days ago. Or aometimes, even the first level of the game. Going into ‘load game’ sometimes helps but not always. No way should this game be downloadable with such a severe bug. Pull it, fix it, then release it again..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Fun at first….This is really fun at first. You can earn coins, not use them and have them when you need them. But I am like at level 175ish and it’s much harder now (the game definitely changed difficulty around level 150ish) and it’s turned into every other game like this. I am thankful I am not going broke playing it but I have no coins and no helpers and there’s no way to really earn any other than 40-50 per level - when it costs 500 just to add 5 moves to one level and way more than that to buy helpers. The game never gives you more coins per win as you advance. It always stays the same and the reason I always quit games like this is because I want it to be fun and relaxing. I don’t mind playing a level a few times but I am not going to play one level over and over and over for hours or days on end. That’s when I hit delete…. the little random and very sporadic gifts and bonuses are not near enough..Version: 1.0.3
✓ All my data vanishedI was on the 4th garden so had completed over 170 odd levels, as you can see by my achiements. Went to open the game today and all my data had vanished. Tried a restart but all my data has gone and it was definitely saving fine before. Will be deleting this game now, not going to start again from scratch. ✓ TvOS version needs a lot of workThis game is pretty good on iOS but on tvOS the game is awful. The UI is almost unreadable and there doesn’t seem to be any options to change it. Most of the text is far too small and the buttons are tiny! Not only that there’s lots of bugs like if you accidentally press “back” to unselect a tile in the game it quits you to the tvOS menu and then when you go back into the game you can’t do anything as everything is frozen. The only way to resume is to quit the app and start over. It also displays invalid character boxes where it should display Emoji characters (like from Game Center names). Did anyone even test this on an Apple TV??.Version: 1.2.0

✓ Game doesn’t save progressI liked this game but after the last few updates it seems to have tanked. I keep thinking the game has saved my progress and then the next time I log in (after getting the new animal, placing all the requested plants etc. ) I am right back to the same spot and I need to replant everything and get the new animal.
