✓ LOVE this game, but…I love this game, and the fact it’s on Apple Arcade with no in-game purchases is amazing! Graphics are smooth, and not to mention, the cities are beautiful and look so life-like! I did want to report there’s a bug going around. Any time there’s a goal on the left hand side of the screen (say, it says to build 15 buildings). I build those buildings, and the count never goes on, making me lose the goal. Or, it says to increase education or reduce pollution. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t want to play until these issues are fixed. I earn money to build more buildings and take care of my city by doing those goals. I really hope they can be fixed SOON so I can get back to the game! Thanks so much! ✓ Good but also too fast!The game is pretty good. Only issue is that its too fast especially with any demands /upgrades/etc 😭 But when you pause it, all construction stops. Would enjoy more if Buildings would complete when paused or demands were a little slower. Also if the base matched the grass on the buildings. ✓ Finally the City Sim I’ve be waiting forI’ve been playing city builders since the first sim city way back in the DOS days (ask your dads kids) and since the last SimCity game nothing has really come close to replicating it but cityscapes is it. Some of the developers working on this are from maxis and you can feel the simcity DNA. Cityscapes has its own spin though, it can be played as a open sandbox or as a campaign. I’ve not moved on from the first map but as you level up as a mayor you unlock new maps which have different rules attached as well as different terrain so you can challenge yourself to build cities under different conditions. There are also trials both daily and weekly where again the rules are slightly different and you compete against other mayors to win rewards so it has many different game modes to keep engaged. Being on Apple Arcade this isn’t freemium so no more waiting hours and hours for resources to craft or having to pay to get more than a few minutes game time. Being able to play on my phone while out and and about then pick up on my Mac is a great feature and the game looks great on all devices. Being as this is a new game (1.0.1 at the time of writing) there are a few bugs but it has an active discord where the actual developers hang out and listen to the feedback and so far have worked on updates and fixes really fast. Is it perfect? Not quite but it’s a sold foundation to build on (pun intended) and with time this game will only get better and better but for now i feel I can be a mayor again..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Has a Good potentialOkay this game is fun and it gives off a SimCity vibes but mobile version but a bit better in my opinion but the overall gameplay is fun the graphics are actually good I’m surprised with the the amount of builds there are but one issue the roads are a bit confusing with the layout and how they snap and where u are allowed to build them and where u are not which makes planning the city layout a bit difficult and confusing I hope they look into this and make it more efficient in space managing. ✓ Gimme zoom!I’m changing my initial review as some of the bugs are squashed and some other complaints were my own misunderstanding. I’m adding a star for improvements. We STILL need more zooming out like Christopher Walken needs more cowbell, though! I’m still struggling with the “needs more” balance. I had a near perfect balance in a level 70 city and still got one house complaining that I was short 100 jobs. It seems like these should scaled on a percent basis. I’m also having a resurgence of having people complain about things I DO have. I have workplaces without jobs and jobs without workers. Wishlist: I’d like some kind of alert I’m about to get hit with unhappiness. It takes a lot to manage a huge city and check everything without zoom. I wish it was easier to see the radius a building affects. That caused a lot of my initial confusion. When you place the giant bus depot it looks like the area it affects is tiny but is actually quite large..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Great Sim game - needs a little work stillThe best city building game I’ve played in ages. Lots of interesting details about buildings and how the city is performing without the game being so complex it feels like work. There are a few that need to be tweaked. Font size for some information is really small and can’t be adjusted, even by making adjustments through settings on the accessibility menu for my entire phone. Building effect radius isn’t displayed, so there is more selecting a building and guessing where to place the next one than I would like. The ability to simply move buildings for free keeps it from being too much of a problem..Version: 1.0.2
✓ This game has a lot to offer, but…I love this game, honestly, but but it has a few frustrating bugs and slight annoyances that brings my rating down to 4 stars. Starting with the pros, this game is just really fun, especially if you like this genre. It is decently detailed and has plenty if maps and hours of gameplay. You can do whatever you want. Because this game is part of Apple Arcade, there are no ads. Although, it does have its own currency and something called a “City Pass” but it isn’t in your face unlike games like Subway Surfers, if you know what I mean. Now onto the cons, it has a couple of bugs. One of the bugs I came across is when you place down a building it sometimes pretends the building isn’t there, making it have no effect. I also have some nit-picky cons about this game, including how the game restarts if you leave our phone off for long enough and the unrealistic pipelines and electricity. If also Is quite the battery eater, as on my phone, it takes up about 15-20 percent of the battery every 45-60 minutes. I haven’t tested the game on low settings though, but I imagine it would be a bit lower. Overall, I think this is a good game, but it has room for improvement. The expansiveness is almost overwhelming, but some small inconveniences lead me to the rating of 4 stars. I hope this game improves over time to be one of the best city builders on the App Store..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Great game but…This game is perfect for strategy game enthusiasts. The overall concept is fantastic, although I have observed a few bugs and interfaces that could benefit from some improvements. One area that definitely requires attention is the merging of buildings. While it's a cool idea, there is currently no clear indication of which building is being used as fuel during the merge process. It feels somewhat random, often causing issues with other buildings. ✓ Late NightThe amount of times I get off is insane! I’ve never been one to make reviews because I hate complaining on a team or companies hard work. I have spent way too many late nights playing this came. I love almost everything about it. I’ve updated, will still crash and kick me out, I get so frustrated. If I win a badge, it will crash. I do wish there was more variety in the buildings. I would love to see a trailer park, 5th ward, country club areas. It would also be neat to have certain zones, like with your downtown area have levels of Taxes. Then with the taxes being able to buy landmarks, state park even, theme park for that city. I do like that the few animations on certain landmarks or buildings. Even with my suggestions, I would like to say all the hard work has not gone unnoticed..Version: 1.0.3

Need to be able to zoom out further though, so I don’t miss the request bubbles as my town gets larger, and so I can see the full coverage area of the building I am placing, or locate the areas requiring more utilities. It would also be nice to have hospitals, fire stations, and police stations clearly marked (like an H on top of hospitals, etc) so they are easier to locate and upgrade. Also, in the mode where you can check the utilities and place new buildings, when I do an upgrade it should default back to the build mode, instead of forcing me out of it and making me click back into it every time..Version: 1.0.2

✓ No Offline Mode is a missed opportunityI have to say this is probably the most fun throwback to Sim City I have ever played. It is bright, keeps you interacting, let’s you establish yourself before resources and things become a balancing act. Easy fund earning. A fair and enjoyable way to earn the special currency to unlock landmarks and buy extra special buildings every day. Literally only complaint I have is there is no offline mode. Which is not mentioned in the game info afaik ahead of time. I got to find out when I had a long waiting room visit lol. This is a huge disappointment. I really hope they come out with an offline mode so I am not limited by connectivity. Being in the middle of playing on a public wifi connection while enjoying a morning coffee, and having the game suddenly kick you into a never ending load screen is frustrating..Version: 1.0.3

The only thing that I have issues with is how much the game crashes. And when it crashes, if you are in pause mode, you lose any changes you made. Cons: The bug that makes housing close due to no shopping, while a shopping plaza right beside it closes because of no shoppers is maddening. Ditto with workers and workplaces. I’m relieved to see it’s a bug because I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. Also agree with other reviewers on zoom level. IMO you should keep what you unlock and you should only have certain items unlock per level. I’m debating whether to start another level just to repeat the same thing. Unlocks should be progressive. A few bugs, yes, but they are gradually being whittled down, which is good news, -The number of shoppers and workers still doesn't match up to the actual number the commercial or industrial buildings require. - the game can't keep up with placing or upgrading a building required before the timers run out. - the pop up bubbles of people making puns is stupidly annoying and I'd love a function to stop them completely. - it would be great to have a start over map option in campaign mode. - moving or deleting tiny car parks one by one is tedious. - nighttime means I can hardly see anything to move it. ✓ Fantastic addition to city simulators!While still working out some bugs and issues, these folks designed a very well thought out city simulation game that rivals anything we’ve seen to date on IOS. The graphics are amazing, the touch interface is smooth, and the mechanics of the game are mostly familiar to other city builders. Add in some more unique aspects of urban sustainability and you’ve got a full-fledged game that previously would have paid more than the Apple Arcade subscription itself for. There are unfortunately a number of negative reviews by some that are either not giving the game a chance or are not taking advantage of discussing issues directly with the design team on Discord, where the Development has been very active collecting information to improve the game..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Entertaining but needs support for longevityI really enjoy the game and 80% is super intuitive and less glitchy since the last update. Fun times and I always enjoy starting a new map. There are however some weird scenarios that have no explanation/support to get a move on. For example, how to merge epic buildings? I can unlock them with in game earned cash, but never rank them? Theoretically I can, they’re eligible for merging, but nothing in game play explains how besides “you need more buildings!” “Ok, but how many, which type?” No rules online anywhere to really explain some mechanics, so each map peaks at like level 38 before I get bored. ✓ I love itIf you like Cites Skylines, Sim City, RCT, Caesar,etc. you will absolutely enjoy this game. The maps can get really big, which I love, but we don’t have a mini map so it can be hard to navigate at times. I’d also like to have some sort of indication when something is wrong. For example, I was messing around upgrading a bunch of stuff in one area then I swipe around and there’s like and entire section of abandoned houses because I didn’t put in enough water. Don’t get t me wrong, I can see why you wouldn’t have notifications for that, but if there were like red dots on a mini map that would be helpful I think. Idk maybe that’s too much assistance for the player because it is very fun as is, but I’ve definitely looked for a mini map in the settings a couple of times..Version: 1.0.2

My main gripe with the game is the zoom level, playing on a Macbook is just plain painful and I spend more time panning than actually attending to buildings. Perhaps an option to set the zoom level in options so that people on mobile can have a closer zoom than people on iPad pros and Macbooks but even on my iPhone i would like to be able to zoom out further to assess my city at times. I suspect the placement of buildings and fixed sizes in final and adopting any other method is out of the question now due to the way the building levels and merging mechanic works but I would have liked the ability to zone specific areas as entirely residential like in most other city builders. I understand the devs have gone with a simpler method that might appeal to newbies and a younger audience. Oherwise the game is fun, looks good and is well worth your time..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Cute, fun, room for improvementA really good attempt at a city builder. I've put in quite a few hours already. There's a few features I like that don't exist in other renditions of the genre, and a few that don't work well. Placing residential, commercial, and industrial lots one-by-one is a pain, especially when it comes to maintaining it. Other city builders use the tried and tested method of simply dragging a rectangle for the area you want, and then it populates the whole area with relevant buildings that fit perfectly. With this new method, you have buildings of varying sizes which means you end up with odd juts and tons of wasted space. Creating roads is also very frustrating as they don't seem to line up properly with buildings. So again you end up with lots of wasted space, and roads that don't connect to each other. It seems like land expansions don't come when you need them. You run out of space, yet can't complete core missions because there's no space to build anything more! The merge feature is nice, but the tutorial didn't appear to explain what circumstances lead to a merge being possible. The zoom level is also way too close. You can't see more than about 10 buildings across, which means anything happening on the other end of your city goes unnoticed for too long. It also means when placing civic buildings/utilities, you can't actually see the full area of its reach! There's no proper indication for civic buildings, or differentiating industrial, commercial and residential zones, so finding specific things you want to upgrade or manage is very difficult and is a case of process of elimination as you tap each building to see what it is. ✓ Great GameI love city builders like city skylines and this game is perfect for mobile. It’s highly addictive, fun, and there’s room for more additions in the future. ✓ So Fun but BuggyI love this game! But there are still lots of bugs to work out. One is that during a trial your city can be at 100 approval rating with zero issues, and then suddenly the failure screen pops up and says your score dropped to zero and you lost. Another is some buildings will always say they need water or jobs or waste disposal and cannot be satisfied. A third is often windmills think they’re not connected to a road and have to be deleted - and if two windmills are next to each other only one really counts for increasing electricity. There are more but I am going to keep playing and hopefully they are fixed!.Version: 1.0.3
✓ Great gameIt’s a very good city building game with lots to do and is not weird or hard to play it’s simple and fun and it’s one of the reasons I got Apple Arcade again. However, it feels like often there is nothing to do. It’s cool and when people talk to your so maybe add more dialogue and more options to respond with. ✓ Good but buggy and full of spelling mistakesIt’s better than SimCity in some ways, predominantly not having to wait 36hours to build anything, so I enjoy being able to build my city quickly. As others have mentioned, there is a real issue with the red bubbles needing something when they are right next door and not resolving - not just work/workers, but crime, hospitals, shopping etc. The app is full of typos and spelling mistakes, which makes it look unprofessional, and not what I would expect from an Apple Arcade game that we are paying for - things like ‘saftey first’..Version: 1.0.0

You’ll place the demand to grow/ eliminate the issue but then it does not appear to register that you’ve met that demand… but, when I close the game and re-open it it instantly registers?
