Frustrating Resident Experience AppI can't express enough how disappointed I am with the resident experience app mandated by my apartment complex management. The app, which is supposed to simplify tasks like paying rent and requesting maintenance, has turned out to be nothing short of a headache. Firstly, the payment method, Bilt, adds an unnecessary layer of complexity. The app forces you to sign up for this service, and to make matters worse, it might trick you into applying for a Mastercard with them. This is completely unacceptable! Residents should not be coerced into additional financial commitments just to use a basic utility app. What's even more infuriating is the intrusive nature of the app. Full-screen ads bombard users at unexpected moments, making the entire experience feel like a chore. I downloaded the app to efficiently handle my rent payments and maintenance requests, not to be bombarded with unwanted advertisements. The app's user interface is far from intuitive. It's riddled with unintuitive "features" that only serve to complicate the user experience. I just want a straightforward platform to pay my rent and address maintenance issues, but this app seems to have lost sight of its core purpose. Overall, the resident experience app has proven to be a piece of garbage that fails to deliver on its promises. The mandatory use of Bilt, the potential for misleading credit card sign-ups, intrusive ads, and a confusing interface make it an app I would strongly advise against. The management needs to reevaluate their choice of platform to ensure a more user-friendly and transparent experience for all residents..Version: 23.10.100

Does not workFix your app, it never continues to the next step for setting up payment, which is already annoyed to do. Forcing residents to use this app, don’t give other flexible option to pay rent, I see class action lawsuit coming to this app..Version: 23.10.100

Should be illegalMy apartment building recently sprang this app on us. It’s unbelievable. If you pay your rent through this app you are given the “choice” to either allow the app to monitor your credit card transactions or give them your user name and password for your bank account! How is this remotely acceptable or legal? Only an idiot would agree to these terms. Pay your rent by check, they can’t stop you..Version: 23.10.100

Nearly Non-FunctionalOur apartment complex recently switched to this application. It is terrible, crashing or erroring out constantly. I honestly thought the email announcing the switch was a phishing attempt. The application links against other sites within the same app for almost any action, which is precisely what I would expect from a phishing attempt. When trying to pay, it links against some other application asking for financial details and to provide new and different credentials. Given the state of the front end, I don’t trust that their backend won’t be hacked. I’m really not comfortable putting financial information into this thing..Version: 23.09.200

GlitchesThe app glitches a lot and just has a blank white screen. Kind of annoying cuz it’s the only app that my apartment complex works with and it doesn’t work. Neither does it communicate with you bank very well..Version: 23.09.100

Doesn’t even deserve the one star.Forced to use this God-awful app to pay rent. Never ending adds. Tries so hard to get you to sign up for their credit card. Forced to share information linking your bank account. I can not understand how this is even legal..Version: 23.10.100

Non-functionalWon’t actually accept rent payments. Links don’t work, crashes out, sends spam emails about signing up for credit cards you don’t want - it is beyond inexplicable that my property chose to move from a perfectly functional rent portal to a portal that can’t even reliably process rent payments.Version: 23.09.200

Absolute trashThis app looks like it was made as a homework project by some kids. You have to sign into multiple accounts to pay your rent. No idea why any business would put up such a stupid wall between them and getting their money..Version: 23.10.100

Just using renters’ financial data to pay for rent collectionThis is obviously a savings deal for the landlords. They probably pay little or nothing to have Bilt collect their monthly rents. But renters must consent to Bilt looking at all their credit card billings if they pay by card (with a 3% fee!) or at all their banking activity if they link to their bank account. They don’t just take the money, they harvest your personal information and resell it. It’s outrageous that a landlord should try to coerce tenants into giving up their financial data to a third party they have a new beneficial relationship with. Not going to do it..Version: 23.10.100

Unprofessional AppI am horrified that we now have to use this app to pay rent. Thankfully I’m tech savvy, but if you aren’t I can see it being a major problem. Also, the app tries to get your personal information from your bank account, and to sign up for a credit card. If you are not careful, you’ll end up signing up for a card and sharing your banking info beyond your account and routing number. There are also ads all over the place. I cannot believe how unprofessional this is when it involves residents’ money. I have never seen anything like this. Unbelievable..Version: 23.10.100

Cutting Costs and QualityThe change to this app and platform affect both the residents and staff negatively. It makes it harder to do all aspects of the renting process, as well as having to sign up for several new things we never wanted to do in the first place. All in the name of a billion dollar company saving a little money 👍.Version: 23.10.100

Another reason to not rent from GreystarWith no advance notice, this piece of trash replaced the usable web portal. Now I can no longer pay rent! The app data did not include my phone number, and it cannot be manually set. But to log in to the payment system, a phone number is required. Cannot wait to get away from Greystar and all of their hostile decisions and ramming of ads down residents’ throats. Negative stars if it was possible..Version: 23.10.100

TerribleTries to trick you into applying for a credit card, steals your credit score data and you have to email to opt out (still not sure if they are using my data). Hidden form to opt out of selling your data which they most definitely sell. All this just to pay rent. I should have tried using a check instead.Version: 23.10.100

Nobody asked for thisSigning up, I have had to click through at least three different screens asking to use my personal data to sell me things I don’t want. It’s sad that this is truly the only way to pay rent, and my rent is being monitized so that my apartment can sell my data to another company to sell me more things that I don’t want. Literally all I want to do is pay rent and ask for maintenance requests - not give my information away at every second to advertisers. I’m really disappointed. No choice either..Version: 23.09.200

Most useless app everMy apartment recently switched to this app. First of all, the interaction of this app is ridiculous. Opening up loops of pages for starter. Second of all, very buggy. Up to this point, there is no option for me to pay rent. And no support for any issues that come up, and the leasing office has no idea what to do with the app. It’s a shame that they chose to switch from a perfectly working resident portal to this thing that’s beyond trash..Version: 23.10.100

DissatisfiedApp is literally confusing. Many different websites/tabs populate when trying to pay rent, etc. It's also very difficult to maneuver through the app, it's extremely too much..Version: 23.10.100

Not greatMy property recently swapped to this and it makes you sign in a billion times and it has taken me several attempts to attach my bank account - still hasn’t worked. And the ads are nefarious! No one needs a rent credit card and if you say no it doesn’t go away. Also why does it need my location??? It’s a stupid app and has terrible user experience when our previous portal was fine. 0/5 if I could..Version: 23.10.100

Doesn’t WorkLinking your bank account never advances to the next step. Re-logging in and going through 5 pages just to see a white page saying “Close this page to continue to next step” redirects you to the Home Screen. Makes you use 3rd party services and tries to sell you credit card subscriptions..Version: 23.10.100
