✓ Popup asking if im enjoying darker won't go awayPopup keeps popping up asking if I'm enjoying darker will occasionally appear. When I click either yes or no, the popup just reloads and I can't make it go away. I like that it gives me a dark mode but this is a huge problem if I can't use the page I'm looking at..Version: 1.2
✓ Great for the eyes, but……there are sites that will have difficulties filling out certain forms since certain images will not show on dark themes properly. Other than that, it’s definitely better for your eyes. So you’ll have to decide what is more important to you..Version: 1.7

✓ This app has a serious glitchI wanted to like this app. Unfortunately, the moment I activated Darker, a question popped up asking if I liked the app... I clicked 'cancel' because I hadn't gotten a chance to yet use the app. It remained stuck (disappearing, then returning to the question immediately every time I relaunched Safari). The question remained persistent (and insistent) regardless of whether I clicked the cancel or OK button. I ultimately gave up and removed the extension... but the question remained after I deleted the extension. Interestingly enough, the question functionality worked correctly when I clicked "ok" this time... so I left this review. To be clear, I WANTED to like this app. The problem I encountered is so profound as to make the app completely and totally unusable. If you fix the app, I will try it again....Version: 1.2

✓ STOP WITH THE POP UPS!!!The app does its job, but the stupid "are you enjoying" pop-ups sometimes don't go away, and don't even accomplish anything. ✓ ENDLESS LIKE ME PROMPTSSeriously - they won't stop. If you restart and Restore Windows from Last Session expect to get 742 pop-ups BEGGING you to like it. It's rendered Safari unusable. That's not hyperbole, I literally can't interact with the browser because as soon as I click Okay, or Cancel, the LIKE ME POP-UP just COMES BACK. I can't get past it's relentless need for approval. Between that and my own incessant need for approval, I am rendered useless. Will be uninstalling ASAP, then will do a clean install of the entire macOS just to make sure it NEVER ASKS ME AGAIN. ✓ Horrible AppIncessant prompts to rate the app. It spams like 1-15 prompts at the same time. If you click “cancel” on the prompt, or sends another prompt, another prompts, and keeps doing it up to 15 times, forcing you to rate the app. The app also only offers a free trial. It expires in just a couple of days. Then, it spams pop-ups telling you the ad is expired with the same pop-up prompts appearing. If you click OK, it sends another popup saying it’s expired up to 15-20 times this time. This ad is spam..Version: 1.6
✓ Very intrusive popupsEspecially on first launch - the popups prompting an App Store review keep popping up. This is wildly annoying and defeats the usability of this app. I used the app for 5 minutes before uninstalling. Could easily be a one-star review due to all the intrusive popups. ✓ The right price, but slows down safari and seems buggyThis app is the right price, and generally works. I found that it doesn't work on some sites, and on other sites with this app enabled I couldn't select text and do other things, so it seems to have trouble with certain kinds of content. I don't know if it's a certain type of advertisement that makes it slow way down, but it doesn't seem ready for prime time unless you only want to use it on certain sites you know it works with..Version: 1.2
✓ Buy before you tryI read that this is the app to get if you have medical problems with high contrast. I installed the app and enabled it under extensions but when I tried to use it, the background is still bright white within most websites. I opened ‘settings’ and see a whole list of color settings. The problem I found was that you have to pay first to change any of them. There are no dimming options unless you pay first. I tried using day and night modes with the same results. I don’t see any usability without paying first. After reading the Apple Store description, I don’t see any mention about having to ‘pay before use’. This is a bit of deceptive advertising. As for me, I try most apps before I pay for them. I don’t like to pay first and hope I like it and that it fills a need. I will pay first if I have history with a product and have found a use for it. I don’t like these little surprises from anyone I do business with. Good luck to you, I will not be trying or buying your app. For those who ‘buy and try’, I hope you’re not disappointed with this app. Just my two cents worth..Version: 1.7

✓ Obstrusively disrespectful to the user, possibly break AppStore rulesExtension should be very unobstrusive, no actions at all, just apply some dark mode on web, and that's it. But NO, every time I open Safari it opens an alert box asking if I like it or not. Click Ok/yes to enter in a looping of showing box and clicking Ok. Click "cancel" and then it opens App Store extension page on browser AND Mac's AppStore to submit a review. I'm pretty sure that is against AppStore Policy. ✓ Good Extension. Way too much prompting.The extension works well for what it's designed to do - provide a dark read mode across most websites. On that basis, I would give it a five-star rating. But when I installed it I was immediately prompted to rate, and no matter how many times I clicked, it would not accept my rating, forcing me to force-quit Safari. ✓ So far, not super impressedThe app does a nice job with color schemes. It actually renders in better dark mode colors than Dark Mode for Google - the "Dark Reader" app with the darth vader icon. I have seen system slowness and even a Safari crash due to the application. In addition I have seen the issue where I get this QUICK little burst of pure white light before the site renders - honestly that pretty much renders a dark mode useless because if I get hit with that burst of BRIGHT WHITE light that screws my eyes up indefinitely and I think others would agree. For a dark mode to work, it needs to render a website as dark RIGHT when it loads - not just when it loads from cache. Probably will move on to other service providers..Version: 1.2
✓ Looks nice for a second then crashes safariI was looking for a quick way to have a to have a dark mode for google docs. This looked like it would work, and it seemed to for a moment. But I almost immediately got a JavaScript popup in every Safari window: "❤️Are you enjoying Darker?" with Cancel and OK. Cancel doesn't seem to do anything - the popup just happens again immediately. ✓ Don’t download unless you want a virusI used this app for a few days and it was fine. This morning I started getting a pop up in Safari that said “all of your free times are up, you need to purchase a membership to unlock.” There was no indication of where the pop up was coming from. Pressing cancel only led to the pop up coming right back. Then Safari crashed completely and I was unable to use it at all. I wasted an hour and a half dealing with apple support until we finally narrowed down the problem to this stupid extension. STAY AWAY..Version: 1.5

✓ “Free Trial” Expired?Well, it was good while it lasted. I can’t see any mention on the app page about this app *requiring* purchase, or that there is a free trial before purchase is required. I don’t recall agreeing to a free trial either, but that could just be me forgetting about it. The little “in-app purchases” note is on any app that has payable features, but doesn’t mean that purchase is required. Apparently the dev didn’t get the memo. This app was working as intended until just now when I tried to enable it on a website and was told in a popup that my “free trial expired” and that I would need to pay for premium. Previously, it had just said that certain options (like different dark themes) were locked behind a paywall, but now the entire app is. There is no “free version” as there would first appear to be. There is only the guise of a free-to-use app, with a “not-so-optional” premium version. Be more transparent, devs. Do better. Or better yet, allow an actual free version with an OPTIONAL premium version. Otherwise, this is just a paid app with a free trial. For there to be the option to “unlock all features with premium” as the extension says, (or rather “unlock all feature” as it grammatically incorrectly says) there also needs to be an option to decline premium and continue using the free version as is implied by such statements. The other option is to openly advertise this as a paid app with a free trial..Version: 1.7
