✓ Predatory Paywall & AdsThe game is cute, and interactive as you explore your surroundings but the game locks all characters except Bluey and Bingo behind a $10 dollar a month paywall. If you do get the subscriptions the other charters provide no other interactions or different interactions than what you get with the non paid version. This makes the unlocked version more cosmetic than functional. The game also has in game ads that constantly run prompting you to download or purchase other games made by app makers. You can’t tell me your kids aren’t going to click on those ads. What’s worse, is there is no way to turn them off! Even if you purchase a membership they STILL don’t go away! This ap was a cute idea, but it’s predatory nature with consideration to your wallet makes it a solid game to avoid..Version: 2023.2.0
✓ Please don’t download without reading thisI thought it would be fun because I love the show and I love let’s plays but the first thing you see is something telling you to pay I don’t think anybody would pay 7 dollars a mouth for a game that is not even good and you can play without paying but the game without paying has two places to go to and that would be only the kitchen and a little bit of the backyard and if you thought that you could just play with the characters you only get two people and those people are Bingo and Bluey and you also get drawings for you to stay on the app but you can just tap them with a magic wand and it will color it for you how fun. Now if you think oh it’s only 7 dollars well that is 84 dollars a year so I would not get it and if you do have it I would delete it right now I would give it half a star but I can’t so no matter haw good it looks do not download it..Version: 2024.2
✓ Fun but PriceyI got this game, because I love the show, Bluey, and I wanted to know if I should tell my friend who loves Bluey as well about the game. Everything (including characters and places) looks just like the show! You did a great job on that, for sure! The thing I don’t like about the game is that it only gives you 2 characters (Bluey & Bingo), along with 2 places (Kitchen & Backyard), unless you want to pay an outrageous amount of money every month. I would pay for the extra, if it was a ONE TIME payment. Yes it gives you a discount for your first month (that is the reasonable price), and every month after that is a ridiculous amount. I feel like you’re just trying to get money out of people with this game. I recommend making it a ONE TIME payment for a LOWER price. You won’t make as much money out of it, but maybe you’d get more people to play it. I’m not going to delete the game (for now), and wait for an update that may include some of my recommendations. ✓ Cute game, Terrible adsUnbelievable that even after paying a monthly subscription price, there’s still ads everywhere for their other apps. I could bear it on the home screen, but it flashes and glitters in the corner and is very distracting. As good as the app is, this “feature” is awful and brings the whole experience down. That said, if the ad button was removed from the play rooms, I would give it 5 stars. My toddler loves it, it’s easy for her to navigate and play with the characters. Lots of detail and neat interactions. The music and artwork feels like you’re really playing in an episode of Bluey. But beware, even after paying your tot will constantly press the sparkling ad in the corner, thinking it’s part of the game, and interrupting their play..Version: 2023.6.0
✓ Subscription model madnessI'm a developer. I get the subscription model for software. It makes sense in application that you get real value from, where there are regular updates and new features, but for a game which will be played rarely this is pure greed. I would have gladly paid £5 to see the joy on the faces of my girls even if it were only for a short initial period and then revisited when bored in various situations or coming back for a few mins of fun. However there is no way I'm going to pay that for a single month and then be in a position where they can never play with it again. This is nothing more than milking the cash cow dry and relying on children's nagging power. The developer should be ashamed. ✓ LimitedThere are only limited stuff unless you pay. Which is a shame because I am 9 and I can’t pay. So you get bored after a while. When you finish the colourings, you don’t have anything else to do except cooking or playing in the backyard. ✓ A lot you have to pay forI downloaded this app for my little sister to play and I come to find that almost all of the games and colouring sheets are behind a paywall you basically get two games with only bingo and gluey characters and 6 colouring sheets and that’s it. And if you want access to all the colouring sheets, characters, and games, have to pay a monthly subscription you can’t use the rest of the 99% of the game unless you pay the subscription 😒and almost 10$ a month really!?.Version: 2023.5.0
✓ Monthly Subscription?!It’s an adorable app. I love how the different places and objects can interact with the characters. And my 6 year old daughter loves the kitchen, where you can add different ingredients to make food from the show (even the “special” meal from Fancy Restaurant). But it is a shame that so much of the app can only be unlocked with a monthly subscription. I’d definitely pay a one time $5 fee with $1.99 fee for every time they add updates/upgrades. But $10 a month is almost the same as a streaming service with hundreds of shows and movies. ✓ Yet another subscription, and non-challenging gameplayI totally understand the team behind bluey needs to make money but I don't like that I have to pay yet another subscription to unlock ALL the characters and places to go other than bluey and bingo A smaller complaint that I have is that I feel like this game is "too easy". Even for young kids it's just like boring I suppose. All you do is place Bingo and Bluey and and see what things do. I wish there was an objective or something to challenge the times of our littles. Also some of the gameplay aspects are really "glitchy" such as when you try and feed Bluey or Bingo or simply move things around. ✓ Why is it $7 a monthWe, like many families LOVE Bluey, so of course my 2 littles wanted this game on their iPads. They and I were disappointed that only 3 options are able to play for free, the rest you have to subscribe to have access to. After over a month of hearing daily “please subscribe” by 2 little voices, I finally said I would do the 1st for month option for $3.99 a month for each, that’s still $8 for them both, then after the first month it’s $6.99 a month, so $14 for them both to continue to have. I don’t understand why it’s $7 a month. I will not continue their subscriptions after the first month, I cannot justify the money. I will have 2 very disappointed kids after 30 days. ✓ Very disappointedThe only available options for play without paying the ridiculous subscription are the kitchen and backyard with just bluey and bingo. Having the other characters and locations in your face the whole time is just mean. It would upset any child to see them available but unable to interact with them. On that note there is very little interaction these characters are having with the world around them and all you hear is Chili in voice over announcing what area you are going to. I’d give it a zero if I could. Don’t waste your time with this. However after downloading the app you are bombarded with ads to pay their subscription fee. I’d be more than happy if it was just a one-off payment but the prices practically rival major streaming services - it’s cheaper to get Disney+ and WATCH Bluey for that price - and even then the free games on the website are better. From the free version of the game I experienced it’s fun for about five minutes but I barely found any minigames or anything of the sort, it’s just dragging and dropping the characters into different scenes. ✓ Subscription for a game like this is immoralAs someone who plays a couple of gacha games as an adult, I understand the requirement to make money to support further development. However 2/10 locations, only Bingo and Bluey as free characters and then a monthly subscription is absolute lunacy. Give more for free so children can experience the game as it’s meant to be played first. Even my 5 year old who has single handedly beat Mario Odyssey on Nintendo Switch cant play this for 5 seconds without constantly hitting a locked screen. She is confused and annoyed with it. I get that it can’t be free, but unlock everything else that exists at the time for a small price that people don’t need to emotionalise over, like $2 and then when (and if) you actually add new content in future sell them in packs. Subscriptions can come much MUCH later once you prove the quality of content and already have had a large player base who have paid the initial micro transactions. Even then, not everyone will pay. No matter what there will be always be a larger base of free-to-play players. This game is virtually UNPLAYABLE for free players… I’d you can even call it a game. ✓ Cash grab.This app is obviously a cash grab once you start using it. If you’re wondering what the gameplay is like you essentially have the option of a bunch of settings from the show. Once you select a setting, the gameplay is essentially the same. There are items that are built into each setting and you can place any character you want from the show in that setting. They interact with some of the items but for the most part that’s all you’re doing. Plays characters on a stage and they interact with items built into the stage, that’s all. You can also color a million different digital pages with whatever cheap painting interface, they built into it. My three-year-old was entertained by it for all of 20 minutes. With her, trying to help her find some entertainment in each setting, but I couldn’t drag her in and sell it to her. I’m a little disappointed that the brand signed off on a game this lame but they do have a lot of merge so I get it. I canceled my subscription (wasted four dollars) and uninstalled the game.Version: 2024.2

✓ Hard no…. Gaming membership for a toddler?This game is more of an interactive dollhouse that captures many of the characters (with some big oversights like no Judo and Calypso). There is a bit of silliness and a few soundtracks from the show that are charming but it just falls flat overall. Would have bought it for a flat price. But at an outrageous $10 EVERY MONTH, it’s a hard no. Imagine spending $120 a year on this app, and the moment you stop paying, you lose access to all but two characters and a couple demo boards. Hope the developers reconsider their approach here. The crash grab is antithetical to a show that redirects viewers away from materialism and towards simple open-ended play with things like scarves and cans of beans. I’m not going to pay $9.99 per month (works out to be $120 per year) for this game, as good as it, it’s not worth the money when I just download 6 free game my son loves because they are the same as “Bluey”. At the end of the day, it’s a kids game, not a streaming service or essential app. I would of given the game 4 starts as a game, I gave it 2 stars because of the price of the subscription..Version: 2023.6.0

✓ DisappointingAs a family we love Bluey and watch it daily! Seeing a Bluey app was exciting especially for the kids. Unfortunately to find it having a monthly subscription was disappointing, especially trying the free part of the game. The game consists of moving characters and dropping them in different locations of the house (the kitchen and garden only being free). The characters do not speak and have the smallest of movement if any. Bluey is usually this family with a huge amount of imagination and I feel the creators of the app were on the right track with the game but missed a huge opportunity on making it what people would expect it to be! The game if to cost anything should be a one off payment. And the characters should speak move and dance like they do in the series, when placed in certain situations and with different items. ✓ Grossly overpriced, minimal actual contentI was excited to see a Bluey game on the App Store but it was quite disappointing. I expected there to be actual games even if they were just little mini games. Games similar to keepy uppy on the Bluey website, or even a long dog game where you have to find all the long dogs in the girl’s cluttered playroom. This is just a minimally interactive scene. Place some characters around and click on some things for a half a second animation. Maybe it’s something the characters will actually interact with or maybe not. Put Bingo in the fairy ring thinking she would likely dance around like in the show, but she just puts her arms up and down while the rest of her body stays stiff. Thought maybe they would dance to the speaker playing music, but nah they just hold it in their hand. To top it all off, they want you to pay a monthly subscription to unlock all the characters and scenes. $10 a month for what? There’s no real content or $10 worth of fun here. At best the content is worth a one time payment of $1.99. It’s almost laughable..Version: 2023.2.0
✓ Cash Grab That Taints the FranchiseI love the show. Without even limiting things solely to children's programming, I think Bluey is one of the best shows to appear on television in the last decade. That's why cash grabs like this are so upsetting. I'd be more than happy to pay for Bluey-related products (and have many times) but this one is soooo egregiously overpriced I feel it actually taints the franchise. It takes a show that's got real heart and tries to capitalize on it with an INCREDIBLY overpriced product lacking substance and heart completely. I don’t see any heart here in the app, just dollar signs. If this was cheaper it could be more easily forgiven for what it lacks and what it is. But it's not cheap…not by a long shot…not even close to reasonably priced, and I fear greedy moves like this are going to hurt a truly wonderful property. One of the things fans of the show love about it is a strong sense there’s something more meaningful happening behind it all…that the creators really care about their product…and when things like this are released it damages that belief. If any one related product fails doesn’t matter, but what does matter are those offshoots products damaging the larger brand. This app, given its pricing and how little it offers, makes the overall Bluey franchise look bad..Version: 2023.5.0
