The best part about it is that when it calculates the amount, and if you use Pocket Money (you should) you can then post the amount straight into Pocket Money (your checkbook). ✓ The only iPhone tip calculator that correctly deterines tips (before sales tax)I've always understood that when calculating a tip, the tip amount should be based on the the subtotal (the amount after removing tax). Of the iPhone tip apps that I've examined, this is the only own that does this. I'd like to see some improvements, but overall I like this app, and it's free. I'd like to see improved sensitivity of the sliders and I think that the sales tax amount should be displayed with two decimal places instead of one. Where I live, the sales tax amount is 7.45%, but it is displayed as 7.5% (although the correct tax amount is actually calculated). The slider buttons could be larger, too, to make it easier to move them. In closing, I like this app a lot, and I think we'll probably see improvements in the weeks and months ahead..Version: 0

✓ Finally, BUT...With the dozens of tip calculators out there that were all missing pieces, you finally put it all together. Well done. BUT, what I'd like to see is when the tip is changed from exact to something else, that the recalculated tip percentage is displayed, e.g. I may want to round up the tip but I won't if it means the tip percentage goes to 30%. So, when any changes are made from exact calculations, spin the tip percentage wheel to the new tip percentage (and rounded whole numbers are good enough). I would like to see the fraud protection feature too but I can live without that..Version: 0

It's only one screen with minimal taps to get the total amount. Although I don't use the latest version with ads, I appreciate that the designers were upfront about that in their upgrade information. Here's the best kept secret for those who don't eat out more than twice a year (only for your birthday and Mother's Day I suppose?) - Thou shalt not pay tip on taxes!! This means, whenever you think about how much tip to put down, look at the amount BEFORE tax, not the grand total including tax. A $113 bill needs $15 in tip, not $16.95 (assuming 13% for taxes)..Version: 0

✓ Simple and accurateI’ve been using this app for years, almost to the point where I can’t calculate tips in my head, but that’s a different story. If you don’t believe its accuracy, just enter the correct sales tax amount and look at your receipt and compare subtotal, tax and check total. Mine is always spot on. ✓ Say what?I am a bit confused. Why are there complaints over a icon? The blue dish is on a black background that blends into the background. Nothing wrong with the icon....nothing wrong with the calculations either. Click on getting info on your icon and you will see the shape on a BLACK table. I am using the lite and wonder what the difference is between lite and non lite?? Taxes change so much now that california has been raised. Selling apps for a quarter of the price I've sold them on platforms without really that much in increased volume has forced me to test out other means of revenue generation. The advertiser had a pending ad launch date so I figured what the heck let's give ads in the app a try. There is enough push back against having ads in a freeware app that I will be releasing an ad-free version of CheckPlease ("CheckFree AF") and charging a buck for it for those that don't want to have ads in the application..Version: 0

No more trying to figure out who owes how much. 0-99% tip calculations and can calculate split bills up to 100 people per bill. ✓ Big Time SaverI put this application to the test and it performed flawlessly. I didn't have to remember any numbers, nor multiply, divide, add, or substract anything. I had the exact tip, total amount, and how much each person should pay right on the screen and instantaneously -- on top of that, it was a party of 20. The only downside was that the application started up a little slow and the tax was a little confusing because it never really added up. I usually have tax turned off. In fact it is better than any of the other tip calc out there in my humble opinion. I haven't seen very many that figure the tip correctly. That is, it should figure it before applying tax. This one does! Also, it is quick and easy to use when you are hurriedly trying to get a number so you can get that vinyl check holder to the wait person before they disappear for five minutes. The one function I wish it had (and would be willing to PAY for) is to be able to divide up the bill based upon what each person had to eat. This way, each user is charged ONLY for their food plus tip, and not the food of others (like the app does now by dividing the bill by the total number of people). ✓ Great appThis is very nice tip app with an easy UI. I have noticed though that the app is calculating the wrong percentages. For example, as a test I put in a bill of $1,000 and selected 10% and 1 payer. The app returns $85 as the tip amount which is 8.5%. I also tried 20% on a $1,000 bill and the app returns $169 as the tip amount which is 16.9%. Edit: I erased the app and downloaded it again an the amounts are being calculated properly. Best free tip calc available (can't imagine the paid versions being much better). Kudos to the developer.Version: 0
✓ Well-designed app and you can't beat the priceThis app is useful when you're out to eat with a group of people. You enter the amount of the bill (before or after taxes, as you prefer; I usually tip on the total including tax) on a keypad. Then you select the percentage you want to tip and the number of people in the party. CheckPlease then tells you both the total amount of the tip per person and the total each person should pay. You can choose to round up the tip or not. I think the interface is terrific--everything is on one screen. If you're considering this app, you should be aware that a lot of the earlier complaints (particularly about the including tax/not including tax debate) have been addressed in later versions..Version: 0
✓ Useful but took me a while to realise why it was giving incorrect results (v.3.0)Now I know what I was doing wrong with this app, it is actually going to be a lot more useful - at first I thought it wasn't calculating tips correctly as, for a 10% tip calculation, it suggested £9.09 for a £100 entry and not £10. Then I realised that the preference for default tax (which I had misread as tip) should be set to 0 for the UK. Now, all is good. Anyway, I've deducted one star because of a couple of usability issues in version 3.0: 1. You can enter thousandths (and less) in the value - it should really be restricted to 2 decimal places. 2. There should be a delete all function so that you don't have to delete each individual digit to enter a new total for a new meal. ✓ Good app!I like the app but haven't put it into use. My largest complaint - I would like to be able to add amounts before the tax and tip is calculated. This means I must separately add all of my line items before putting the final total into the app. And I wanted to comment on someone who complained about the wrong tip amount if a tax rate is set. Tipping is entirely different in Europe (where they are paid full wages), and giving 20% would be unheard of. Also, this app will calculate tips for services OTHER than food service, which vary greatly depending on the service rendered.
