✗ DisappointedI love Shazam but for some unknown reason it no longer works on my iPad, fantastic with my iPhone.. I haven’t been able to receive songs since 2019. Recently I deleted the app and downloaded it again on the iPad thinking it would help, but I lost all my songs and it still won’t work.. I would be so grateful for an answer as I would prefer to use it with my iPad.. Thankyou. Now to add because I can’t do a new review. It still doesn’t work with my iPad. I really would like and explanation why. But I guess you just don’t have time to solve this issue which others have. So I guess I’ll just keep adding to this message until I get a reason..Version: 14.0
✗ It’s an awesome app but..I’ve used Shazam for years but it has been the first time that the app has stuffed up. I shazamed a couple of songs last night. Today I wanted to put them on my playlist. I went on to Shazam and tried to swipe where I shazamed my songs and all of a sudden the app freezes. It won’t allow me to see any of the songs. Everything else works but that. I have tried deleting the app and getting it back, I have also tried turning my phone off and on again. That doesn’t work either. Please fix this..Version: 12.7
✗ Apple killed this appShazam used to be a great app, but since Apple took over it, it’s definitely as good as it used to be. Which leads me to DELETE it now. Bad.Version: 14.9
✗ Sort it out!For the last few weeks something has happened and I’ve lost a lot of songs on my Apple playlist via everything I’ve Shazam’d, everything is updated accordingly but something isn’t clicking between them both, I’ve tried a few avenues (un-sync, re-sync, disconnect Apple Music and reconnect it) even when I’ve lost the will to live and try make do with the list I got a day or two later that list has diminished again. Before everything messed up I had at least 950 songs on my Shazam playlist via Apple Music now I’m lucky to sync 700 - at worst it’ll sync the very latest songs I’ve Shazam’d - so for instance today 5 songs on a playlist which should be closer to 960. 🤷🏻♂️ so what’s gone wrong? What’s changed? I’m getting pretty annoyed with it, all the songs were in a place I could remember, now, I’ve not got a clue. Pretty disappointed and pretty gutted about losing the songs via the app too. I’ve just checked my list on Apple Music and my playlist is showing 178 🤦🏻♂️ please sort this issue out. It’s not on..Version: 13.17
✗ Not as smart as you’d thinkShazam (at least for me) takes a long time to open to the point where it’s possible to press the Shazam button. Then, it takes a while to recognize the song. Often, a song ends before it can do all that. What usually happens is that I hear a song, then decide in the course of listening that I want to identify it. Then, the above happens and the song ends without being identified. I feel like I’m supposed to start Shazam-ing as soon as the song starts. That doesn’t seem realistic since I need to hear at least some of the song to know that I want to know more about it. Also, it’s not as smart as a human. It seems to recognize data embedded in the song rather than the actual characteristics of the music. If you Shazam a live performance of a well-known song—say, a performance on an NPR show—it will not recognize it..Version: 11.4.2
✗ FixDoesn’t keep any of the songs i shazam recently but remembers one from few months back. actually sucks.Version: 14.8
✗ Used to be goodIt really did use to be good, but now it’s just bad, I Shazam a song offline and it says “Shazam saved it’ll be scanned when the phone is in contact with WiFi” or something along those lines, fine, 5 days later nothing I remember about it I look everywhere and it’s nowhere to be found, no song no nothing, also I tried finding a song, nope came up with another different one, and now the auto Shazam doesn’t work either? There’s like a solid 15-20 seconds of music, it usually, correction, used to need only about 5 seconds or so before finding it, nope not this time buckaroo.Version: 13.3
✗ 3.5 starsThe live music lyrics could be better. Like I don’t understand why it hears the lyrics and recognizes if it is an a wrong place and “catches up”, but really, it doesn’t recognize if it’s paused? Can’t even hear any music but it continues as if it does. Pointless feature. And I appreciate that it has lyrics, but some popular songs don’t. They should sync to more than one website for lyrics. The ads aren’t personalized either, and honestly I wish it was. I don’t mind a clothing ad geared towards my interests every now and then, but constantly seeing the same add for AHS Apocalypse while trying to look at lyrics for my worship songs... I keep covering it up with my hands as I read bc I don’t want those kind of frightening images in my head. Being personalized ads, even just variety would be nicer. Don’t want to see the same ad every time I Shazam a song. And auto Shazam doesn’t work that well either.Version: 11.13.0
✗ SucksCant even shazam a great opera.Version: 14.2
✗ Shazam just sucks nowI’ve tried to find 12 songs with the auto shazam method and none of them worked i even played the songs for a solid 25 seconds each.. i had to maually search the lyrics by ear to find em🤷♀️ probably going to delete the app.Version: 13.15
✗ Shazam doesn’t work with google music on iPhones.Shazam no longer works with google music on iPhones. Screw you, Shazam. What a load of garbage. Deleting..Version: 13.19
✗ Non!
✗ Not ImpressedThere’s more to life than just Money - Shazam you keep coming up with annoying ways to try and get its users to buy Songs. We now have another with the latest Update - a stupid notification taking up a good part of the screen trying to get us to go to Apple Music. I’d rather be able to see the info on the screen about the Songs. A Music type App that failed to realise that music lovers don’t need to be pushed to buy music and I wasn’t a real Fan of you getting the Video to auto play after every Shazam & waste my Mobile Dara. Think about it Shazam....Version: 13.1
✗ It’s almost like magic- when it works...For anything commercial, especially pop, it will not only find the track, but also the lyrics. For less commercial tracks, stuff from film soundtracks which are a little “indie” for example, you invariably get the “ we didn’t quite catch that”, which has to rate as the most disingenuous as well as unhelpful error messages of all time. What they actually mean is “it’s not in our data base, because it’s not worth our time” as far as I’m concerned, that’s the failure of Shazam. I’m a music fan, multi genre, multi-generational. Sometimes Shazam comes with me on my journey. Often (40% of the time?) it doesn’t. My perception is that the app is getting less focussed on the music I’m interested in identifying..Version: 13.27
✗ Great great appThis app is AWESOME! I have used for ages. I love my music and this app even seems to filter out voice when talking over a track listened to. Granted it doesn't tag 100% of the time but after a few retries it normally gets it. Well done devs this is my favourite app. A*** Update: never frickin works when you want it... every update gets worse! iPhone 7 user, Shazam user from beginning!! SoundHound my go to now! Shazam gets 2/10 soundhound 7/10. Stop rushing new releases devs ffs Thanks for making it more long winded to get back to main Shazam now screen, have a word! Ever thought about beta testing ?! FFS x2.Version: 11.7.0
✗ This is an awesome app... but mine has been glitching!I love this app, I’ve had it since it first came out. I like that I can link it to face book, share cool songs that I found on my face book feed or to individual friends. I can even look up the lyrics to the songs that I Shazam. However, for about a month now when ever I go to “my Shazam” to look at the the songs I discovered it kicks me out the app immediately. I have even tried signing out so I could sign back in, in the hopes that it would reset the app... that didn’t help. So I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it again. That didn’t work! So it is for this reason I’m am rating the app 2 stars. It is extremely annoying that I can’t use the app to its fullest. Especially when I enjoyed using the app the way it was intended prior to this issue. So if the developers can fix this glitch I would be happy to give this a app a 5 star rating-once again..Version: 11.10.1
✗ Not nearly as accurate or useful as claimedI really don’t get the appeal of Shazam. It usually doesn’t work. If it’s a top-40 song, it works pretty well. Anything else, and most of the time it says “No result”. Or it picks a song seemingly at random. Then if you try again, it picks a different random song. It has no concept of “I’m not sure what this is so here’s a couple guesses”. The wrong answers are never even from the right genre. It’s like talking to a smart-but-dumb computer on a 1960’s sci-fi movie. There isn’t a way to train it, either. It’s even difficult to remove an incorrectly Shazam’d song from the history — it takes about 6 taps, which is about 5 too many for something I want to do half the time I hit the Shazam button. The other case where it’s good but not useful is classical music. Its accuracy with classical music is excellent. Unfortunately, again, it snatches defeat from the jaws of victory, this time by displaying only the title and *performer* (usually conductor), but not the composer. “String quartet #7”? I guess that narrows it down but it really wasn’t what I was looking for. I wish Shazam worked well, and provided results in a useful format. Right now, it’s a novelty when it works at all. UPDATE: Now it’s started nagging me about “cloud backup” and a bunch of other useless stuff. Please stop. You have one useful feature. Make it better. Don’t go trying to make me integrate my life or some garbage like that..Version: 14.1
✗ Several IssuesShazam is a very useful tool, but it does have some issues in this version. For starters, I’d like to modify Notifications Settings… but the link in the app takes me to the front page of Settings and there’s no panel for Shazam available on my new phone. Additionally, when upgrading to a new iPhone I lost access to the ad-free experience I bought into years ago with the since-depreciated Shazam Encore. I’m using the same account as before, but I have ads now… I’ve submitted a ticket and am waiting to hear back. A final complaint would be with Facebook integration. Most apps now show me a page asking to sign in with the Facebook app, which takes me there to authenticate; Shazam, on the other hand, wants me to sign in directly in the app instead of taking me to the Facebook app to do so; this is less secure, sends my data through Shazam for additional lost security, and is just not the way I want to do things. Security and privacy are important in today’s world, and Shazam needs to add simple support for Facebook’s newer secure-authentication system. Other than those issues and occasional minor bugs, Shazam works great. Aside from the emails about the top charts that I can’t seem to turn off in the app for some reason, I enjoy using Shazam and it has proven extremely helpful in identifying music on many occasions..Version: 11.4.0
✗ Internet problems? To who it may concern, I used to love Shazam, a lot. Even though it may work perfectly on my iPhone 7 it no longer works perfectly on my iPad. In fact, it no longer works at all on my iPad. Every time I try to Shazam a song on my iPad it takes forever and then it finally comes up with a message saying that they’ll notify me when I’m back online. After the first few times I thought there was something wrong with my internet even though google was still working for me, but then I decided to put it to the test. I tried to Shazam a song on my iPhone and my iPad at the same time, it worked on my iPhone and did the same thing that it had been doing to me on my iPad. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again too many times to count. How do I fix this? Is anyone else having the same problem?.Version: 13.9
✗ Complaint about ShazamWhile I was talking on the phone today I tried to delete a song on my Shazam Library and I clicked the three vertical dots of that song. I clicked “remove from Shazam library” at least five times and nothing happened. Once I hung up the phone and went back to library I noticed it deleted five songs from my Shazam Library. This isn’t cool since it gives people the misconception that the song wasn’t deleted and they can continuously click delete only to find out after, that, they deleted multiple songs. Either enhance the system to allow deleting a song while on a call or display an error message saying “error unable to delete a song while on cellular data, etc.” One of the five songs from my library which was deleted, as a result of this bs, was a song I was searching for for over 5 years and now it’s lost forever and I don’t remember the name of that artist..Version: 13.6
✗ Something is wrong with this appIv updated this app on both my iOS devices and it refuses to search for any tracks at all. All I keep getting on my screens is “sorry we didn’t quite catch that” even when I hold my phone right next to the speakers. All my settings are fine. The app has access to the microphone. Mobile data is enabled on both phones. If this was on one device I could rule out the device in question. However the app worked fine before the update on both devices. Whatever is wrong I wouldn’t recommend downloading this app until they fix it. The app did work perfectly before Iv not had any complaints at all until now. but the new update has killed something..Version: 13.12
✗ Poor UX. Hard to Shazam after the first Shazam. This app does one thing and that one thing is not present on any page in this app after your first Shazam. So dumb. More — The “Shazam” button exists only on the launch page. Once you Shazam and it finds the track, you are forever stuck on the details page of that song. It doesn’t reset back to the Shazam page, ever. And it doesn’t let you swipe to go back (sorry iPhone Plus and X users). If you come back 3 days later to Shazam a song quickly, you’ll still be stuck on the last track you Shazam’d and no quick Shazam button access (read: no ability to Shazam). The only way to do it is to hit little tiny back arrow button perfectly to go back. I have missed so many Shazam chances because I opened Shazam, it lands on the details page of a song I Shazam’d days ago, and I couldn’t quickly hit back with one hand on my phone. Beautifully designed app, poorly thought out UX..Version: 11.7.0
✗ Doesn’t pick up music!Great app but lately or most of the time it hasn’t picked up any of the music I’ve tried listening to as it always comes back saying “No result We didn’t catch that try again” after I’ve pressed the button to listen! It still does it even though I’ve got the music up loud or I’m in a cinema where they have the speakers up really loud and yet most of the time it still comes up with the same message all the time even though the rings on the listening section are big but still doesn’t pick up the music no matter how loud the music is playing! It’s been doing this for a long time now but sometimes it works and finds the songs but other times it doesn’t! I like the app but just wished it would work 100% of the time as it’s meant to work!.Version: 12.16
✗ What’s happened?Been using Shazam for a number of years and it’s been an essential app on my phone. I’ve raved about it to everyone and it’s been amazing, reliable and quick. It recognised any music within a few seconds and nailed it 99.9% of the time. But the past few months it doesn’t seem to recognise anything. I’ve tried with increased volume, holding my handset at different angles, longer listening time, switching between WiFi and 4G connection but it doesn’t seem to recognise anything. If I reinstall the app it will work a few times but then it goes back to not recognising anything. Really frustrating as I loved the app for years- but probably going to permanently remove now as it’s so unreliable....😕.Version: 13.4
✗ How has this become so slow and bloated?I don’t understand how developers seem to love destroying apps just for the sake of doing something (bored?) with each iteration of an app? I just want to load this, tag it and then read up later. I don’t need fancy graphics or anything else. I also don’t need it to take 5 seconds or so to load on an iPhone X then fail to transmit the song every single time and be told ‘will be tagged when online again’ only to go to tags and find its already been done. I’m going to hazard a guess this is all to advertising but I’m on the edge of just deleting it and not bothering any more. When it does work, it’s fine (if I can load it in time before something ends)..Version: 11.8.1
✗ Apple Music syncing is always brokenEvery time Shazam release an update they break the auto syncing function and Shazamed songs are no longer added to the “My Shazam Tracks” playlist in Apple Music. I’ve tried using the Encore app, the standard app, disconnecting and reconnecting Apple Music, logging out and logging back in, and deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing works. Songs have to be manually added. Very frustrating, that was my main use case for Shazam. It’s a great app and it’s even better on an Apple Watch, but I want to listen to music in Apple Music, not the Shazam app. Also, why the heck are the saved “My Shazam” tracks separate in Shazam and Shazam encore? Obviously Shazam encore has been depreciated but if I try and use the standard Shazam app instead I lose my entire Shazam history? Just a poorly thought out and poorly developed system all around..Version: 12.8
✗ App doesn’t workDated: 14 May 2021 The app has stopped working. I am no longer able to Shazam any songs. It will usually say no result try again, every time, even if it’s a song that has previously been identified. I have deleted and reinstalled the app with no success. This issue started about a month ago and has progressively gotten worse. This is getting frustrating please get this sorted. I am running IOS v14.4.2 if that helps..Version: 14.11
✗ Control Panel Song Recognition Is Useless!!If I could give the Song Recognition feature in the control panel a -10, I would, I find it just that useless. When I 1st saw this I was like “wow what and awesome thing” and instantly added it to my control panel and it recognizes all of my songs. But of course there is always a “gotcha” with anything this good because even though it recognizes the song it does not link them with my Shazam library like the app and if I clear 1 of my notifications on my list all the Shazam’s are deleted, thus no song recognized or saved to add to my Apple library later. This very very very frustrating and hate this feature. My memory is bad and that’s why I use the feature and leave the songs that I Shazam in my notifications so when I have a chance I can add it to my Apple Music Library. It’s an awful waste of space and if you’re going to offer it as a extension of the Shazam make sure all of the features work like app would or it’s just a waste of space..Version: 14.9
✗ The App Identified songs all right BUT...Only one drawback i do not like about the app is it does not identify the song in its original language (Chinese Mandarin), instead it translate into English words by the sounding which make no sense at all! Please update the App to have the song title displayed in its original language..Version: 14.10
✗ Used to be my favourite app, now too slowNeed to open the app and click the button quickly, to start identifying the song. How long it takes to return the result is less important. Shazam used to be great at this but now it takes too long. I sometimes catch the end of the song and want to Shazam it quickly before it finishes. Keep in mind you may never hear that song again..Version: 11.10.0
✗ Cool but there’s a flaw with the iOS implementationWhen you Shazam tracks from within the actual app and have the Apple Music sync feature these songs *automatically* get added to a custom Shazam playlist in the app. Unfortunately with the new iOS features that also allow you to Shazam track do not work with this feature… and that makes no sense because Apple owns Shazam! Take for instance, asking Siri “what song is this?” Siri will accurately get the song info and also allow you to open the sign in Shazam. All standard behavior. It even shows the new track a newly shazamed song. Unfortunately the automatic playlist doesn’t recognize this as a true Shazam. Same with when you use the iOS shortcut within the shortcuts app or when you use the newly implemented control center button. All three of these methods for Shazaming do not work with the Apple music syncing feature. PLEASE FIX THIS..Version: 14.4
✗ I wish I could put ZERO STARSI do not understand how people are getting what they want with this app. I thought this app would work to find “that song” for me, guess what? It didn’t. I got this app thinking it would be great, because the reviews are fantastic. The only thing I like about this app is that it doesn’t cost wasted money (at least I can just throw it away). I don’t know about anyone else, but I believe lots of people are also getting Shazam because the app itself made it seem impressive. When I first opened Shazam, I wanted to play around with it, so I sang Happy Birthday. Who doesn’t know Happy Birthday? Apparently Shazam didn’t. Then I got confused and tried it again, it still didn’t work. I finally decided to sing my song I wanted to know the name of (I still don’t know the name of). It didn’t work. Voice recognition is very helpful and accessible, but Shazam sadly couldn’t be with that. It shows how badly great inventions like voice recognition can be used for..Version: 12.19
✗ Hit and MissWhen I first got this app it was relatively basic which was fine, as it had the ability to listen and advise me of what the song title was 90% of the time. Unfortunately it did take a while to load then and crashed often while loading. Now it loads fast, has lots of additional features and can rarely tell me the song titles that I’m trying to locate anymore. Clearly I’m not after common hits, who needs an app for that?! So for the past year (roughly)I’ve hardly bothered, coz when I’ve really been stuck and needed it, it didn’t deliver!.Version: 11.10.1
✗ Good At Fist Disaster LaterThis app used to be the best app for me, I used it everyday. Just because of the stars doesn’t mean anything because I downloaded it cause how many starts people put it as the review. The experience at first was amazing but then turned out awful. The songs in form are very random so it is hard to find a song that you want to listen to. Later on, I tried to get into the app but it wouldn’t let me open the app, I tried deleting it then downloading it again but it wouldn’t work. So I’m my opinion this app is a waste of space! Please don’t get fooled by this outrageous behaviour Thank you :).Version: 12.10
✗ RubbishThis has gone from being good to absolutely useless. I used to Shazam songs and you could have the option to buy the track and be directed to iTunes. Now that option is greyed out and they’ve told me they don’t offer that option anymore but encourage you to take out a music subscription, so you can listen to it. Now even after they have updated the app it is still showing the greyed out option and you’d think they would have the intelligence to remove it. As Shazam is owned by iTunes, I’m not surprised with the continuing rubbish service they now offer that confirms to me that I’m correct in giving up on them soon and going for a different phone and music provider..Version: 14.7
✗ Buggy.Repeatedly prompting me to rate your app? That's a one star. Glad to hear you fixed it. Also, when I go to My Shazam, the screen stays white. I have to return to the main screen and attempt again. Second attempt usually works. Then, when I hit play all, it'll play about six songs, then loop them over instead of moving down the list like it used to. I like the app, and I recommend it to friends, but it has been annoying me lately..Version: 11.4.0
✗ Poor needs workUnfortunately this app does not integrate across devices. It does not work with Bluetooth connected devices and disconnects then! Shazam knows of all these issues but had chosen to do sweet nothing about it. It does not retrieve previous tags. MyShazam does not work in the most popular browser Google Chrome. Tags no longer show in Facebook or Google Plus. The whole app and backend needs a big rethink and work over. Sorry Shazam but this is a very poor effort. Hopefully Apple will take them over and fix all the problems..Version: 11.6.2
✗ App Doesn’t Like Classical Music? As a beginner pianist I love listening to instrumental music and trying to play it on the piano, however this is difficult to do without the name of the piece. I thought this app would be able to help me out but it didn’t in the slightest: I got six different songs (some of which were techno and rock??) when I “Shazamed” the same, solo piano, piece. I tried this on both my phone and laptop but had no success with either. I was playing an audio clip and the music wasn’t live so I don’t think the fault lies there..Version: 13.15
✗ Ok if it’s popular but, makes lots of false positivesFind it really struggles with anything other than the top 100. Obscure or old (5 yrs or older) it really struggles - often giving the completely wrong answer which just wastes your time. Considering the amount of data they haul from your mobile it could be better This app just keeps on getting worse - some of the suggestions it throws up are way off track. Could be so much better.Version: 13.10
✗ Little disappointed.Well you know how your tuning this chick and everything is going sweet and a song comes on and she loves it and your pretending you know that song like your mum played it to you in the cot. So you swing your phone up hit Shazam and bang you need wifi. And you ain’t got wifi cause you blew the owner of the club off when he pretend to know you. So all in all I think Shazam should carry some sort of memory or ability to work under duress just like us men are. Cause you costing me time in the sack..Version: 12.5.1
✗ No way to report incorrect identificationsWhilst it can identify all the typical music the normies listen to; it struggles to identify some music in the Drum and Bass genre. I had it incorrectly identify an Alix Perez song 5 times; before it got it right on the 6th attempt. I had it just plain incorrectly identify another song, I kept trying and it said not foujd. I would have given it 5 stars but because there is no way to report incorrect song identification and provide feedback for correction, or even provide new song data for Shazam it gets a 3 stars at the moment..Version: 13.6
