✓ Is Strategery dead?Echoing another comment, this has been unusable for weeks. This happened a year or two ago and was eventually resolved but this may be the end of my favorite game to play with my brother. Can’t log in. End of an era. RIP..Version: 3.8.0

✓ There’s no strategy in strategery..This game has a lot of potential but is overall disappointing. The AI is very predictable. I have played it quite a lot and the formula for 90% of the games is simple. Do you have the the most armies after 3 turns? Yes - Great! You Win!.. No - You’re going to lose. The remaining 5-10 turns are just fulfilling the inevitable. This is the antithesis of strategy. This is why other games (ala risk) use some form of wild card to introduce new elements to the game to allowing a more strategic plan. Stripping a game down to it’s bare minimum is not strategy it is just building a big army and throwing it at your opponent. This game fails and is not what you are looking for. PS - I am glad they introduced the PvP mode but 1v1 is very weak and pointless. I played 2 games and didn’t bother. I have hope for this game but they need some major updates to turn it into something other than a brainless exercise..Version: 3.7.0
✓ RidiculousWas living this game. Having my fair share of wins on normal. So put in on hard. The levels are the same but it just unfairly gives you 1's and 2's while it gives the comp players 5's and 6's. What's the point of that. It seems more a game of luck that the comp controls than a game of strategy. And when you try hard setting it just cheats. Or am I missing something?.Version: 3.5.3

✓ Good but room for improvementThis is a well crafted take on 'Risk' that's great in pass and play mode. Single player mode leaves something to be desired - the 'normal' difficulty level doesn't present too much of a challenge yet increase it to 'hard' and you'll find your computer opponents getting incredible luck with the dice, which soon becomes tedious. The online mode is a welcome addition but without the ability to find random opponents it's not much use if you don't have friends with the game. If these two issues were resolved it would make the game an essential purchase. As it stands, some players will get more value than others..Version: 0

✓ Weighted dice ... No fun.As the game gets harder, the strategy doesn't get better. The dice are just weighted against the user. No fun. I have run simulations that demonstrate the computer attacks or defends in a sequence of moves that have less than a 2% probability and yet this happens repeatedly. It must be too difficult to program strategy, so the developer just skews the probabilities in the computer's favor..Version: 3.8.0

✓ Pretty but badly flawed.It looks great and at first the gameplay seems like a clever variation on risk but after the first few games, it's interminably boring. In nearly every game, whether you win or lose has little to do with skill or even luck and everything to do with starting location, which is randomised. In Risk, if one player starts to dominate, there is a tendency for the other players to pile on them, creating a back-and-forward situation. In Strategery the AI is basic, really basic. As a result, as soon as one player has an even slightly dominant position, they've won, the rest is just statistics. The AI also does things which are hopelessly stupid such as attacking heavily defended squares in the first turn causing it to be wiped out in the second turn. In consequence you spend nearly all your time picking a map where you won't be wiped out before your first turn or finishing off a game where you've obviously won by the second round. In 50 games, I've had about 3 where there's been a genuinely exciting battle. A purchase I regret..Version: 0
✓ Love the new features, hate the new graphics!I appreciate all of the new features in version 3, but why did the graphics have to be changed too? They used to be so beautiful and now they look cheap and cartoony! Please please please Affogato can you revert the graphics to the beautiful way they were before? Then this would be a 6 start app - it lives on my homescreen, the only game EVER to earn that position in 3 years! All in all, apart from the disappointment with this version's graphics, this is an amazing game - by far the most played game on mine and my friends' iPhones. To the developers: thank you! ✓ Big BugAfter placing most of your armies, switching to another app then back to Strategery, your recently placed armies are gone and not recoverable. This isn’t game breaking as long as you finish your move before app switching. Still annoying..Version: 3.8.0
✓ Simple and fun but online needs fixingBeautifully simple, yet strategically brilliant game. I play this almost every day. One feature that would be nice is landscape orientation. I prefer using my idevices in landscape orientation so this would be perfect for me. I started my venture into online gaming for this and it is really disappointing. To start with, whomever goes second gets an additional army to begin with so they can expand more quickly, one more on the first turn, two more on the second etc.. An unfair advantage. Then from nowhere, I accept a challenge and lost without ever seeing the map or picking a starting location or taking a turn or anything. What's up with that? One of the main reasons for buying this version instead of the free light version, is that it has online battles but they're broken so until they're fixed, I'd suggest people save their money and get the free version..Version: 3.8.0

Incredibly frustrating: the hardness level seems to affect weighting on the dice rolls -- computer can win two against two endlessly while you must pit at least one more against their number and still often lose. ✓ A few issues ...I like strategy games and I like this one but a few tweaks would dramatically improve it. There should be a lot more standard (random??) map formations. You just get the same formations but with different colours. But the BIG problem is that on large and Epic size maps the map is either too large or too small. The maps should automatically size to the screen size. At the moment you can either zoom in too close or zoom out too far away do the map is tiny. This is a massive issue for the game. Because of this issue I cannot recommend this paid version, users should stick to the 'lite' version. I only paid to get the larger maps but playing them is hard on the eye strain. ✓ Why can't the most fundamental problem get fixed?This game has a serious bug that the devs won't fix. As another reviewer has described, the game loses track of finished games and you'll find yourself prompted to resume playing a map that's already been completed. So, you've won (or lost) a game, but when you go to start another, you find that your progress has been undone (except for your win or loss, which was tallied), and you gave to finish the "saved" game from some earlier state ir else dump the game for a loss. Effectively, the computer player is taking a mulligan, since resuming the zombie game gives a whole new sequence of random outcomes, which sometimes leads to a reversal of what you thought was a resolved outcome. I've had wins turn into double losses because of this bug, and I want it fixed. One star until it gets squashed by these lazy devs..Version: 3.8.0

✓ Don't get if your looking for a risk alternativeI was looking for a risk alternative but this game although similar doesn't have the same strategy. You basically have to spread your self out as thin as possible every turn in order to win. Would like to see more maps where it looks more like continents or islands instead of Pangea. ✓ So many problems, and they never get fixedThis is supposed to be a simple strategy game. Apparently, they mean simple as in simple-minded. There is no real level of play, the brutal level just gives the computer ridiculously impossible dice rolls. Also, you finish a game, later go back in and for some unknown reason you are in the middle of the game again. The computer players need to surrender when they are nearly defeated, or at least add an option to auto place armies, otherwise on the last turn, you have to tap 70 times to place your armies that have no chance of being used. There is an auto-place option in the initial game settings, but it makes the most inane decisions that only a fool would use it. As one reviewer wrote, it’s obvious the devs don’t play the game, because so many basic playability features are non-existent in spite of the fact that most games incorporated them over a decade ago. I play this game when I’m really bored of other games. Just can’t recommend it. For pure strategy, Auralux runs circles around this..Version: 3.8.0

✓ Great Game, Bad UpdateThe look and feel of this app was considerably better before the v3 update. Don't know how that could have happened, but I advise the developer(s) to revert the graphics back to the previous style (including the app icon!!!) and cut down on the menus (it is really a bit confusing when you just wanna "pick-up-and-play, as has already been stated before me). Also I don't like the popup after every game. It is my personal opinion that these should be avoided as much as possible in ANY app, that they should mainly be for system-wide events (e.g. text-message, low battery warning, etc). The new functionality could easily be accessed by buttons above/below the game map; "replay this map" could be a refresh-style button (circly arrow) — you get the idea. Two more things: the "light" theme doesn't look good either, I think it's too bright. (The app is generally lacking the nice contrast levels that it had before.) And I would like to play over the network (with Push Notifications, as it is now) with any random player. None of my contacts have an iPhone. Take a look at "Draw Racing" game (I think it's called) which has this ability. Thanks for listening and I hope the devs will improve Strategery 3 soon..Version: 0
