✓ Opponent turn problemSince the last update, in multiplayer games, it is now necessary to tap the screen to end one’s turn even though according to the rules the turn is over. Then, the opponent’s turn seems to happen instantly. So far I have tried Gin Rummy, Spite and Malice and King’s Corner. This has been my favourite iPad card game app for nearly 10 years. ✓ Best Solitaire and other games.It is my most used app/game. Growing up we had a book called 150 ways to play solitaire. This brings back those old memories. If you get bored with one game you just move on to the next. Can reverse your play or start over. I don’t want to look at the statistics because I don’t want to admit to the many hours I spend playing this game. I wrote this years ago and my opinion hasn’t change. ✓ I'M PICKY, AND I LOVE IT!!!Not only do they have like a gazillion games, but they have your rules, the neighbors rules, your weird friend Fred's rules, and then the history of all the rules (which you can skip if that's not your thing), and the rules they have chosen to play by, which are usually a conglomerate of the best of all the rules , picked and chosen to make the game Easier to learn, fun to play, and causes less arguments. I originally downloaded this game package only because I couldn't find canasta anywhere else. Then I started playing around with some of the other games, and I fell in love with it! Writing reviews are not my thing, but this App deserves it. I play mostly against the CPU and it learns your style, just as a steady playing partner would. He's getting harder and harder to beat. ( it's getting pretty scary how close we are getting to a true A.I. I'm not so sure there isn't one already living in my computer,).Version: 8.0.3

✓ Play Daily!I play every day-it is my way to wake up my brain and start my day off right! Love the variety, although I do have my favourites! With the latest up grade to afford the player more space, I find that the card on the bottom right of my screen interferes with the button for returning to the main game. I am often hitting it by accident. Also I find the cards hit the playing surface in a sharp jerky movement (unlike the smooth shuffle/lay down from before the upgrade. ✓ Fab GameThey say the simplest games are the best and these card games prove the point. Play while the telly is on, play whilst on the move, play listening to music, even play to calm your mind before sleep...well, it works for me. Came back to it after a while away and the new games are brilliant and as addictive as the rest. Clear rules in the main...might have to check back a couple of times to begin with but I've worked them all out so far! ✓ Card sharkThe only reason I refrained from giving a 5 star rating is because when playing a game that requires a computer robot it becomes rather malicious and seems to be able to read my hand. It happens so frequently I think our computer programmers need to go back to the basics of what random card dealing should be. When you‘ve played a game over many years you get a feel for a card game be it Canasta or Rummy you kind of know how cards are going to dealt and played. When I get angry with a created player repeatedly that’s usually at my right side I begin to wonder. ✓ A Solitaire Lover's DreamA year ago, I thought they had every possible version of solitaire and then they added more. There are some of the old favorites like Klondike* and Free Cell, there are ones I learned from my grandparents, like Triangle, or from other smaller solitaire compilations such as Beleaguered Castle. However, there are scads of other solitaire versions and it’s always fun to add a new one to my repertoire; although I doubt I’ll ever develop an urge to play 13 Pack Solitaire. *I get a kick out of those who think the basic version of Klondike included on their computer or tablet is all there is to solitaire..Version: 9.0.3
✓ A little cheating going on perhaps????I absolutely love this app especially rummy 500. But it's annoying at times because when I've found a run to put down it tells me I must meld a certain card! ✓ Great Card Game CollectionCard Shark has always been good, but it keeps getting better all the time. Changes made keep the playing of the games more enjoyable-I'm talking small changes that make your plays easier or make the cards more accessible to play smoothly. I spend hours using it. Highly recommend it. Ever since the latest update both Euchre and Rummy 500 no longer work. The game skips turns, plays out of turn and will not automatically go to the next turn. I would recommend this app to anyone who loves card games, it is the best app I have found. I’m playing the ad free version. My only fault with the app, is that it doesn’t notify you of when a game cannot be won. Instead I’m am left playing and undoing moves to infinitude. The only way to end the game is to start a new one, but I would prefer to know if a game is unable to be completed, so I’m not wasting my time trying. This occurs in some of the more lesser known Solitaire or FreeCell variations. I do love this app though, and I hope the developers take my comments on board in the next update! ✓ Has gotten much better latelyMaybe recent updates helped, seems to be less buggy, working more smoothly. March 25, 2019. This has gone from a 5-star app to unplayable. Sad, it was the best one around. A few weeks ago it started freezing up occasionally, but as of now, the cards wont flip, play, are sometimes suspended in mid-move, or are just not “tappable”—nothing happens, just frozen. Guessing the developers have moved on? If not, hope they update it for iPad Pro and current ios. Would not recommend downloading it unless they do. When it was good, it was the BEST. March 8, 2018. I’m updating this again to reflect current problems with cards freezing while trying to play them, and some cards won’t play at all, just keep flipping back onto pile. Looks like it’s getting a little buggy. I hope they’ll fix this so Card Shark can resume its functionality. Thanks. February 2018: I’m still using this after several years and it’s the only card app I’ve kept, since they seem to keep it updated and I’ve never had any real problems with it. ✓ Could have been a 5 StarI’ve enjoyed playing games on this app for years. Until the last release, it would have been 5 stars. However, with the latest release the movement of the cards has changed in many of the games. For example, in Cribbage the cards from my hand move normally. The cards from the computer just appear. You have to watch the discard pile for the card to change. Suddenly, a new card appears. You don’t see it traveling from the computer’s hand. I’ve experienced the same issue on other games as well… Canasta for one, Spite and Malice is another. I’d go back to the previous release if I could. ✓ VarietyI play this app on a daily basis. It has a great variety of games. I used to play cards as a kid and forgot how to play many of them. This app has them! It has never crashed on me. The only time I encountered a minor issue was when the cards were being displayed in a long line. I was using my tablet sideways/ landscape mode, so the long line of cards couldn't fit on the screen. The cards shrunk to accommodate the screen but then disappeared. Once I turned the screen on end / portrait mode, the cards came back, no problem. The only thing I am disappointed about is on an earlier version of the app, there was a game I really liked ( I don't remember the name), when the app was updated, that game wasn't there. I was bummed. There are still plenty of other games within this app, though. I do love it. I just wish I could remember the name of that game so I can request they bring it back..Version: 8.0.3

✓ Hours of entertainment, but no multiplayerThis collection of card games is the most exhaustive of any app I've seen. It contains almost every card game I've ever played and many I'd never heard of. I purchased it specifically for Canasta, but have played some of the other games as well. Many are solitaire variants and others are multiplayer, but unfortunately you can only play against the AI. In some of the multiplayer games, like Canasta and Gin Rummy, the AI is relatively easy to beat, and they are only 2-player versions. Sheepshead on the other hand is a very challenging 3-player game. It would be nice to be able to adjust the difficulty of the AI and the number of players; even better to be able to play against other humans. The app is strongest in the Solitaire department, but could be improved in quality and variety in the trick-taking and rummy type games. Contract Bridge is notably absent. Overall the poker games are disappointing, and I would not recommend it as a poker app. All things considered, it's hours of entertainment for not very much money, and has many games you won't find anywhere else. The interface is solid overall and it has never been buggy or crashed for me..Version: 8.0.3
✓ One criticismI enjoy the app greatly, particularly Thieves of Egypt but this game has to my eyes a strange quirk. The card shuffling is faulty unless it is deliberate and the system engineers frequent difficulties. If the latter is the case then it would be welcome and proof that one is playing against more than blind chance or bad shuffling. ✓ Reliable app, tons of solitaire gamesThis app has a ton of game choices and is my go to when I'm waiting at appointments - don't have to worry about ending at a certain saveable point. I've never had the app crash or freeze, regardless of which device I'm playing on. I also really like that they have the clock in the corner so you know what time it is. I wish other games would do this. That's handy when you're playing the game to bide your time until you have to be somewhere or do something. ✓ Great “go to” time killer!This is my most used app by far. There are so many games to try and such a variety of times to play them. Some take just a minute or two, some much longer. Some are strictly solitaire and others simulate opponents to practice with multiple player games. The only issue issue is with the latest update. Previously the motion of the cards when dealt or played was very graphic and realistic but with the last update the motion became jerky, unrealistic and hard to tell where the cards were going to or coming from. They would sometimes just appear and sometimes all at once leaving to guess “who” had played them. A quick fix and reversion to the old motion would garner an enthusiastic 5 stars..Version: 10.3

I bought the basic version years ago and it’s nice to have no ads popping up. I’ve tried several apps, this one is the best I think. Latest update (using iPad) seems to be less smooth… for example in Rummy 500 the opponents cards just “appear”, you don’t see them move into place, which I preferred. Finally the game uses the whole screen, but not for all games, 13 packs for example could be a lot bigger. There is a great range of games and hat make this a great app to dip into whenever you have a few minutes to waste. There is a really annoying bug that resets the clock on timed games if you either switch to another app or make even the tiniest swipe up motion at the bottom of the screen. ✓ HeartsFun to play, but much easier playing against the three hands based on the following-1- passing by other players should either be voiding a suit or throwing the highest cards in all seats except spades- 2 when you try to get all the hearts and the queen of spades, if you have a long suit you can easily draw all the hearts, when in actuality if you were playing against live players they would sense that and hold back a high heart or the queen of spades. In addition the computer has an automatic tendency to lead with the Ace-king and queen of clubs knowing full well someone will throw the queen of hearts on them. ✓ Pretty greatI play the games in this set A LOT! And I really appreciate it. If you like playing cards, this is the best set available in my opinion. There are a couple of issues though. Hence the 5th star not awarded. For example, in the Gin Rummy game, the app often does not always pick up discards that would fit into its runs and sets. Why? So when the hands are shown at the end of each game, it is obvious the computer could have got a better score. This makes it feel a little unrealistic. If you had three 7s in your hand and I discard a 7 you would pick it up, right? I spot this sort of thing in other games in the set too. But overall, it does not stop me playing. Nor does it stop me enjoying it. I have written more than once to the developers but they did not respond. Another reason for the downgrade to 4 stars. Other apps I have had minor problems with and hence contacted support, have responded immediately and helpfully, the problem codes have been fixed. But not Card Shark, I am sorry to say. ✓ Great variety But....The review I just deleted was posted here 2 years ago about Canasta. I don’t know if you the developers take notice but here goes. My previous complaint/review was about Canasta. I stopped playing that because it is so wrong. I used to play Gin Rummy but since the latest upgrade the AI movements are too fast and seem to happen with nothing to see. I don’t play that anymore either. I might add that I have recommended this collection on many an occasion. Now I have a complaint about the 3 AI opponents in Crazy Eights. I have only just resumed playing it and they are too slow! Goodness! I know nothing about games software or programming. I just appreciate being able to play these amazing games BUT could please speed them up a bit? If your finger lingers too long on the back arrow, it will redeal your game and you'll have to start all over at the beginning! Frustrating as the devil! This is a useless feature. You can always select “Restart” from the game menu. I have no idea why they thought this was a good idea. This is the best solitaire I've found so far. Deals quickly without useless animations, cards are standard and therefore easy to read. Lots of games, most of the old favorites. Unlimited turnover of the base pile allows longer play and more opportunity to win some of the traditionally more difficult games, like 40 Thieves. ✓ EuchreAll the updates are good. Euchre is a little awkward, with having to push the button to get each player to move. Also the circle is a little hard to figure. I’ve been shut out a few times when I wanted to bid. Also, the old one that we’ve discussed before. Any one should be able to indicate when the hand is over. If they call it wrong, there should be a penalty. Otherwise the game trains you wrong when you play with real people. When I’ve clearly got a single point, everyone should throw in. Thanks. ✓ Card Sharp?I notice one reviewer accuses the AI of cheating and I do sometimes accuse "Spite & Malice" (Great card game available in App Store). My favourite game of the massive list supplied is Canasta, a terrific game. When I first played against the CS AI I lost quite a few games, now, because I have learned some of its tactics, I can win most sets. This does not concur with the afore mentioned reviewer's conclusion. The opposite if anything. Certainly I have played better opponents than the inbuilt one but, and it's a big but, this is a game written by someone a lot cleverer than me. It plays to the standard of a human who has played Canasta in the past and still enjoys the odd game. It makes some silly mistakes occasionally. If it were human it would learn from its mistakes whereas the AI doesn't appear to. However, it plays and sometimes beats me. I think the package offers fantastic value and is as good as any card playing game I have tried and better than many. Perhaps there are other reasons for accusing the AI of cheating. ✓ Can you make a small fix?I tried Contact Author, but it didn’t work. Just got an iPhone 14 Plus, upgraded from an iPad Mini. In Batsford, and some other games, no matter which orientation it’s in, when I flip over a card, then try to pull it down to place it, I end up pulling down another iphone screen. When I do that, the timer resets itself to zero and starts again. If I’m very careful, and only touch the very bottom edge of the card, it will not do it. I’m old, with fat, shaking fingers. ✓ Best Card App Ever and I Never LieI had this app practically since it first debuted and I am still using it. It has consistently performed well and offers more card games than any app I have seen. Loads of solitaire variations along with common games like hearts and spades. I think the only common card game it is missing is Bridge but everything else is there. ✓ Two thumbs up and 4 3/4 starsLove for several reasons: widest variety of games is one app; the cost is reasonable (which is why I was willing to risk the investment); no ads - a major plus; nice, clear graphics; overall smooth play so far with one exception - rummy says to lay down the cards I want to play but will not allow more than one group of cards to be played by the player even though the computer can lay down as many groupings in one turn as it wants to play. I will wait to play Rummy until the glitch is fixed. But there are so many other games to choose from that I don’t mind not playing Rummy for the short time I expect it will take to fix it in the next update. If you are a decent gin rummy player, you'll win over 70% of games. When you get into the 72% - 73% win statistics, the computer seems to get all the good hands. The program has gotten pretty much unplayable. Needs to be updated or removed. The game slows way down. Animation is like in slow motion. Rebooting the iPad doesn’t help. Just needs time. ✓ Great app gameIf you like playing new and older types of card games, this is for you. It's not just the numerous solitaire style games as this app has so many more other types of card games to play. What I like about it is you can play easy don't have to think too much games or you can pick games that you have to use some brain power and think many moves ahead. There has to be close to 60 games to choose from, I have about 25 to 30 in my game playing rotation that I play regularly. Two things wish it had 5 handed sheepshead .it only has 3 handed. In 3 handed sheepshead, when a player picks up trump, the other two (one is the computer) are partners. Unless the partner is heavy on trump, the partner should never lead trump. The computer partner always does. That is frustrating Rest is great. I tend to play the same half dozen or so games most of the time, but that’s just my preference. When I feel like trying something different, I can always count on having excellent directions available to learn a new game. ✓ Comparing app to bookI have been playing these card games. I have enjoyed them. I have looked at a book called The Complete Book of Indoor Games by Peter Arnold (this book is not for sale). It is published by The Hamlyn Publishing Group Limited in 1981. Some games in this app are digitised what’s in the book and I can match the games but I think there are games in the book the app doesn’t cover. ✓ The Card Game App to HaveCard Shark Deluxe is by far the best card game app I have ever used. I have had this app through many versions. Every update makes it better. The author is very responsive to feedback. I have emailed him a few times. He always replies and more importantly he fixes problems in a timely manner. It just keeps getting better. ✓ Guilty purchaseI have been playing the free application of this game literally for years, amassing huge scores (using at least three generations of iPads and probably six iPhones). I was worried that if I purchased the application I would loose the current statistics and have to start again (doh!), then a friend with a brain showed me the export/ import option. So finally my conscience is clear, I did as required and purchased the application, with so many games to choose from I am now even happier and look forward to many more years of entertainment all for the bargain price of £2.99 unbelievable.
